This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury

Please read and follow the instructions in this manual. Proper fit of the collar is important. A collar worn

for too long or made too tight on the dog’s neck may cause skin damage. This is called bed sores; it is also

called decubitus ulcers or pressure necrosis.

• Avoid leaving the collar on the dog for more than 12 hours per day.

• When possible, reposition the collar on the dog’s neck every one to two hours.

• Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure; follow the instructions in this manual.

• Never connect a lead/leash, tags, or other items to the collar; it will cause excessive pressure on the Contact

Points.

• When using a separate collar for a lead/leash and/or tags, don’t put pressure on the electronic collar.

• Before playing with your dog, remove the collar. The activity may cause your dog to bark, which could

lead to him associating the play with the correction.

• Wash the dog’s neck area and the Contact Points of the collar weekly with a damp cloth. Turn the unit off

before touching the Contact Points. Ensure the dog’s neck is thoroughly dry before replacing the collar.

• Examine the contact area daily for signs of a rash or a sore.

• If a rash or sore is found, discontinue use of the collar until the skin has healed.

• If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinary surgeon.

These steps will help keep your dog safe and comfortable. Millions of dogs are comfortable while they

wear stainless steel contacts. Some dogs are sensitive to contact pressure. You may find after some time

that your dog is very tolerant of the collar. If so, you may relax some of these precautions. It is important to

continue daily checks of the contact area. If redness or sores are found, discontinue use until the skin has

fully healed.

• You may need to trim the hair in the area of the Contact Points or switch to the longer Contact Points to

ensure consistent contact. Never shave the dog’s neck; this may lead to a rash or infection.

• You should not make the collar any tighter than is required for good contact. A collar that is too tight will

increase the risk of pressure necrosis in the contact area.

HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

The SportDOG® Brand SBC-8 Bark Control Collar has been proven safe, comfortable and effective for dogs

over 8 lbs. The Bark Control Collar uses digital technology to provide the most reliable bark detection

available.

The SBC-8 utilises Progressive Correction to correct your dog from barking. The correction starts at the

lowest level (1) and increases to the next level (up to 8) each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the

previous bark. If your dog does not bark again within 30 seconds, the correction will reset to the lowest level

(1).

NOTE: As a built-in safety feature, if your dog barks 15 times or more within an 80 second period, the SBC-8

will automatically stop issuing static stimulation for 30 seconds and then resume normal operation.

been turned on or off and serves as a battery

STEP: 01

USING THE BARK CONTROL COLLAR FOR THE FIRST TIME

Before using the SBC-8 for the first time, be sure to check that the unit has plenty of battery life to begin

operation. Your unit should arrive with a fresh battery and be ready to use right out of the box. Simply fit the

collar properly using the steps outlined on page 9. If the unit does not turn on or indicates the battery is low

(red indicator light is flashing) it is time to replace the battery. Average battery life is 200 hours, depending

on how often your dog barks.

Due to greater use during your dog’s initial training, your first battery may not last as long. To conserve

battery life, turn the SBC-8 off when not in use.

BATTERY INDICATION

Once the unit is powered on, and after 4 seconds, the unit will flash indicating the battery status. The

following table summarises the Indicator Light colours and their corresponding meanings:

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO CHANGE THE BATTERY:

1. Remove both screws located on either side of the

Contact Points with included 3/32 Hex Key (1A).

2. Remove the Battery Lid by pushing on one side of the

collar strap (1B). Removing the collar strap entirely

from the unit can make the process easier, but is not

required.

3. Remove the current battery (1C).

4. Install a 4L R44 battery aligned with the battery icon

printed on the inside of the unit.

5. Replace the Battery Lid.

6. Reinstall the screws. Do not over-tighten the screws.

NOTE: Replacement 4L R44 batteries can be found at

many retailers. A 3/32 Hex Key was provided with the

original product; however, a replacement kit can be

purchased by contacting SportDOG® Customer Care if

needed.

STEP: 02

OPERATE THE BARK CONTROL COLLAR

TURNING THE UNIT ON/OFF

Press and hold the On/Off button (located between the Contact Points) for about one second - the unit

will power on immediately, as well as tone. To turn the unit off, press and hold the On/Off button for three

seconds. A tone will sound, then the unit will turn off.

TEST MODE

NOTE: TEST MODE is not a functional mode of correction for dogs and should not be used for training. Test

mode is for the user to test the static stimulation to ensure the unit is functioning and should be used with

the provided Test Light Tool.

1. Make sure the unit is off.

2. Press and hold the On/Off button for 5 seconds to enter Test Mode.

3. Once the indicator light turns solid red, you can release the On/Off button.

4. The unit will now beep followed by a quick pulse of static stimulation starting with a level 1 and

increasing to 8.

Be careful not to touch the Contact Points during this testing sequence so you will not receive a static

correction. It is recommended that you use the Test Light Tool to test the correction.

5. At the end of the test the unit will power off, indicated by a long tone and a solid red light.

6. Turn the unit back on using the On/Off button to resume normal operation.

STEP: 03

FIT THE BARK CONTROL COLLAR

IMPORTANT: The proper fit and placement of the Bark Control Collar is important for effective operation.

The Contact Points must have direct contact with your dog’s skin.

See page 3 for Important Safety Information

To ensure a proper fit, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the unit is off.

2. With your dog standing (3A), centre the collar so

the Contact Points are underneath your dog’s neck,

touching the skin (3B). If your dog has a long or thick

coat, you have two options to ensure consistent

contact: either trim the hair around the Contact Points

or switch to the longer Contact Points included with

your system.

Note: When switching to the longer Contact Points, ensure the o-rings are attached.

3. Check the tightness of the collar by inserting one finger between the end of a Contact Point and your

dog’s neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting.

4. Allow your dog to wear the collar for several minutes and then recheck the fit. Check the fit again as your

dog becomes more comfortable wearing the Bark Control Collar.

Note: If desired, you may cut off the excess length of the collar strap after properly fitting the collar.

• You may need to trim the hair in the area of the Contact Points. Never shave the dog’s neck; this may lead

to a rash or infection.

• You should not make the collar any tighter than is required for good contact. A collar that is too tight

will increase the risk of pressure necrosis in the contact area.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING USE OF THE BARK CONTROL COLLAR

IMPORTANT: Do not leave your dog alone the first few times he receives a static stimulation.

Place the Bark Control Collar properly on your dog and wait nearby until he barks. Most dogs will

understand quickly that the Bark Control Collar is disrupting their urge to bark and will relax and stop

barking. Because the static stimulation may be surprising or startling at first, some dogs may bark more at

the initial correction.

On rare occasions, a dog may get into a bark-stimulation-bark-stimulation cycle. If this happens, reassure

your dog with calm, soothing tones. As your dog relaxes, he will understand that if he becomes quiet, he will

not receive more static stimulation. A small minority of dogs that have this reaction will only have it the first

time they wear the Bark Control Collar.

You should notice a reduction in your dog’s barking within the first couple of days of him wearing the Bark

Control Collar. At this point, it is important to remember the learning process is still not complete. Dogs will

“test” the new learning experience and will increase their attempts to bark. This usually occurs during the

second week that the dog wears the Bark Control Collar. If this does occur, remain consistent and do not alter

your use of the Bark Control Collar. You must place the Bark Control Collar on your dog in every situation in

which you want him to be quiet. If your dog is not wearing the Bark Control Collar, he may resume barking and

his learning would suffer a setback.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will another dog’s bark set off the

Bark Control Collar?

Is the Bark Control Collar safe and

humane?

Yes. The Bark Control Collar is designed to get your dog’s

attention, not to punish him. However, the initial static stimulation

may startle your dog.

Will the Bark Control Collar work

for my dog?

The Bark Control Collar is safe and effective for all breeds and sizes

of dogs, though it may be too large for dogs under 8 lbs. to wear

comfortably. The system should only be used with dogs that are over

six months of age. If your dog is injured or his mobility is otherwise

impaired, contact your veterinary surgeon or professional trainer

before use.

Is it possible for my dog to learn not

to bark only when the Bark Control

Collar is on?

Yes. This is best accomplished by placing the Bark Control Collar

on your dog only in situations in which you never want him to bark

and never placing the Bark Control Collar on your dog in situations

in which you find it acceptable for him to bark.

I have more than one dog, but only

one dog with a barking problem.

Will it cause problems between the

dogs if I keep them together?

It should not be a problem, especially if you follow the procedures

described in this Guide.

Is the Bark Control Collar

waterproof?

Yes. It is waterproof and submersible to 7.6 m.

Can I attach a lead/leash to the

Bark Control Collar?

No. This can result in pulling the Contact Points too tightly against

your dog’s neck. Attach a lead/leash to a separate, non-metallic

collar, making sure the extra collar does not put pressure on the

Contact Points.

Can I leave The Bark Control Collar

on my dog all the time?

No. Never leave the Bark Control Collar on for more than

12 consecutive hours.

What should I do if my dog’s neck

becomes red and irritated?

This condition is due to the Contact Points irritating the skin.

Discontinue use of the Bark Control Collar for a few days. If the

condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinary surgeon.

Once the skin returns to normal, resume use and monitor the skin

condition closely.

My dog keeps barking (does

not respond to the static

stimulation)

• Tighten the Bark Control Collar and/or trim your dog’s hair where

the Contact Points touch his neck to ensure good skin contact

• Replace the battery

• Switch to the longer Contact Points

• If your dog still does not respond, contact the Customer Care

training is desired, Radio Systems Corporation recommends that these training products are not used if

your dog is aggressive and accepts no liability for determining suitability in individual cases.

3. NO UNLAWFUL OR PROHIBITED USE: This product is designed for use with dogs only. This product is

not intended to harm, injure or provoke. Using this product in a way that is not intended could result in

violation of Federal, State or local laws.

4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: In no event shall Radio Systems Corporation or any of its associated

companies be liable for (i) any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damage

and/or (ii) any loss or damages whatsoever arising out of or connected with the use or misuse of this

5. MODIFICATION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Radio Systems Corporation reserves the right to change

BATTERY DISPOSAL

See Important Safety Information on page 2 related to the battery.

• Separate collection of spent batteries is required in many regions. Check the regulations in your area

before discarding spent batteries.

• At the end of their product life, please contact our Customer Care Centre to receive instructions on

proper disposal of the unit. Please do not dispose of the unit in household or municipal waste.

At the end of the product's life, use these battery removal instructions for final disposal:

• Using included 3/32 hex driver, remove the two case screws.

• Remove the case back or cover.

• Remove the old battery.

IMPORTANT RECYCLING ADVICE

Please respect the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations in your country. This equipment

must be recycled. If you no longer require this equipment, do not place it in the normal municipal waste

system. Please return it to where it was purchased in order that it can be placed in our recycling system.

TWO YEAR NONTRANSFERRABLE LIMITED WARRANTY

This Product has the benefit of a limited manufacturer’s warranty. Complete details of the warranty

applicable to this Product and its terms can be found at www.sportdog.com and/or are available by

Australia/New Zealand – In compliance with the Australian Consumer Law, Warranties Against Defects,

effective January 1, 2012, warranty details of this Product are as follows: Radio Systems Australia Pty Ltd.

(herein after referred to as “Radio Systems”) warrants to the original retail purchaser, and not any other

purchaser or subsequent owner, that its Product, when subject to normal and proper residential use, will

be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the purchase date. An

“original retail consumer purchaser” is a person or entity who originally purchases the Product, or a gift

recipient of a new Product that is unopened and in its original packaging. When serviced by Radio Systems

Customer Service, Radio Systems covers labour and parts for the first two years of ownership; after the

first two years, a service or upgrade charge will apply relative to replacement of the Product with new or

refurbished items at Radio Systems’ sole discretion.

The limited warranty is non-transferrable and shall automatically terminate if the original retail consumer

purchaser resells the Radio Systems Product or transfers the property on which the Radio Systems Product

is installed. This Limited Warranty excludes accidental damage due to dog chews; lightning damage; or

neglect, alteration, and misuse. Consumers who purchase products outside of Australia, New Zealand,

or from an unauthorized dealer will need to return the Product to the original place of purchase for any

warranty issues.

Please note that Radio Systems does not provide refunds, replacements, or upgrades for change of mind, or

for any other reason outside of these Warranty terms.

Claims Procedure: Any claim made under this Warranty should be made directly to Radio Systems

To file a claim, a proof of purchase must be provided. Without a proof of purchase, Radio Systems will not

repair or replace faulty components. Radio Systems requests the Consumer to contact the Radio Systems

Customer Care Centre to obtain a Warranty Return number, prior to sending the Product. Failure to do so

may delay in the repair or replacement of the Product.

If the Product is deemed to be faulty within 30 days from date of original purchase, Radio Systems will

organise for a replacement to be sent in advance of returning the faulty Product. A Post Bag will be included

with the replacement Product for the return of the faulty Product. The Product must be returned within

7 days of receiving the replacement. If the Product is deemed to be faulty after 30 days from the date of

original purchase, the consumer will be required to return the Product to Radio Systems at the consumer’s

own expense. Radio Systems will test and replace the faulty unit or its components and return to the

consumer free of charge, provided the Product is within its said warranty period. This warranty is in addition

to other rights and remedies available to you under the law. Radio Systems goods come with guarantees

that cannot be excluded under the Australia Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for

a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also

entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure

does not amount to a major failure.

Veuillez lire et respecter les consignes décrites dans ce manuel. Il est important que le collier soit bien

ajusté. Un collier porté trop longtemps ou trop serré peut irriter la peau du chien. Ce type de blessure

s’appelle une escarre de décubitus ou une nécrose cutanée.

• Évitez de laisser le chien porter le collier plus de 12 heures par jour.

• Dans la mesure du possible, replacez le collier sur le cou de votre chien toutes les heures ou deux heures.

• Vérifiez l’ajustement pour éviter une pression excessive ; respectez les instructions de ce manuel.

• N’attachez jamais de laisse, de médaillons ou d'autres objets au collier, car cela exercerait une pression

excessive sur les contacteurs.

• Lorsque vous utilisez un autre collier avec une laisse et/ou un médaillon, veillez à ce qu’il n’exerce pas de

pression sur le collier électronique.

• Retirez le collier avant de jouer avec votre chien. Votre chien peut aboyer pendant le jeu, ce qui pourrait

l'amener à associer le jeu à la correction.

• Lavez le cou du chien et les contacteurs du collier avec un chiffon humide chaque semaine. Éteignez

l'appareil avant de toucher les contacteurs. Vérifiez que le cou du chien est complètement sec avant de

remettre le collier.

• Examinez quotidiennement la zone de contact pour détecter toute rougeur ou plaie.

• En cas de rougeur ou de plaie, arrêtez d’utiliser le collier jusqu’à la guérison.

• Si l’irritation persiste au-delà de 48 heures, consultez votre vétérinaire.

n’ont aucun problème à porter les contacteurs en acier inoxydable. Certains sont sensibles à la pression

FONCTIONNEMENT DU SYSTÈME

Il a été prouvé que le collier anti-aboiement SBC-8 de SportDOG® est sans danger, confortable et efficace

pour les chiens pesant au moins 3,5 kg. Le collier anti-aboiement utilise une technologie numérique offrant

la solution de détection des aboiements la plus fiable du marché.

Le SBC-8 est équipé de la correction progressive pour empêcher votre chien d'aboyer. La stimulation

démarre au niveau le plus bas (1) et augmente au niveau suivant (jusqu'à 8) chaque fois que votre chien

aboie, dans les 30 secondes suivant le premier aboiement. Si votre chien n'aboie pas dans les 30 secondes,

le niveau de stimulation se règle à nouveau sur le niveau de stimulation le plus bas (1).

REMARQUE : grâce à la fonction de sécurité intégrée, si votre chien aboie 15 fois ou plus en moins de

80 secondes, le collier SBC-8 arrête automatiquement d’émettre une stimulation électrostatique pendant

30 secondes, puis reprend son fonctionnement normal.

UTILISATION DU COLLIER ANTIABOIEMENT POUR LA PREMIÈRE

FOIS

Avant d'utiliser le SBC-8 pour la première fois, vérifiez que l'état de la pile est à son maximum avant

de commencer. Votre collier doit être équipé d'une pile neuve et être prêt à l'emploi dès sa sortie de

l'emballage. Ajustez le collier de façon adéquate en suivant les instructions de la page 23. S'il ne s'allume

pas ou indique que la pile est faible (le voyant lumineux rouge clignote), il est temps de remplacer la pile.

L'autonomie moyenne de la pile est de 200 heures, en fonction de la fréquence à laquelle votre chien aboie.

En raison de l'utilisation plus fréquente lors du dressage initial de votre chien, la première pile risque de

ne pas durer aussi longtemps que les suivantes. Afin d'allonger l'autonomie de la pile, éteignez le SBC-8

lorsque vous ne l'utilisez pas.

Quatre secondes après avoir allumé le collier, le voyant lumineux clignote pour indiquer l'état de la pile.

SUIVEZ CES ÉTAPES POUR CHANGER LA PILE :

1. Retirez les deux vis situées de chaque côté des

contacteurs à l'aide de la clé hexagonale 3/32

fournie (1A).

2. Retirez le couvercle du compartiment de la pile

en poussant sur un côté de la bande du collier (1B).

Le retrait total de la bande du collier de l'appareil

peut faciliter le processus, mais ce n'est pas

obligatoire.

3. Retirez la pile actuelle (1C).

4. Installez une pile 4L R44 en l'alignant sur l'icône

imprimée à l'intérieur du collier.

5. Remettez le couvercle du compartiment à pile.

6. Resserrez les vis. Ne les serrez pas excessivement.

REMARQUE : vous pouvez vous procurer des piles de

rechange 4L R44 auprès de nombreux revendeurs.

Une clé hexagonale 3/32 est fournie avec le produit

d'origine. Il est toutefois possible de se procurer un

kit de rechange en contactant le service clientèle de

SportDOG® au besoin.

ALLUMER/ÉTEINDRE L'APPAREIL

Maintenez enfoncé l'interrupteur marche/arrêt (situé entre les contacteurs) pendant environ une seconde :

l'appareil s'allume immédiatement et un signal sonore est émis. Pour éteindre le collier, maintenez enfoncé

l'interrupteur marche/arrêt pendant trois secondes. Un signal sonore est émis, puis l'appareil s'éteint.

MODE TEST

REMARQUE : le mode test n'est pas un mode de stimulation fonctionnel pour les chiens et ne devrait pas être

utilisé pour le dressage. Il permet à l'utilisateur d'essayer la stimulation électrostatique afin de vérifier le

bon fonctionnement du collier. Il doit être utilisé avec la clé multifonctions.

électrostatique. Il est recommandé d'utiliser la clé multifonctions pour tester la stimulation.

5. À la fin du test, le collier s'éteint et émet un long signal sonore ainsi qu'une lumière rouge fixe.

6. Rallumez le collier à l'aide de l'interrupteur marche/arrêt pour reprendre le fonctionnement normal.

AJUSTEMENT DU COLLIER ANTIABOIEMENT

IMPORTANT : un ajustement et un positionnement adaptés du collier anti-aboiement sont importants pour

un fonctionnement efficace. Les contacteurs doivent être en contact direct avec la peau de votre chien.

Voir les consignes de sécurité importantes indiquées à la page 17.

Pour que le collier soit bien ajusté, suivez les étapes ci-dessous :

1. Vérifiez que l'appareil est éteint.

2. Une fois votre chien debout (3A), centrez le collier de

manière à ce que les contacteurs soient sous le cou

de votre chien, touchant sa peau (3B). Si votre chien

a le poil long ou épais, vous pouvez utiliser l’une des

deux méthodes suivantes pour garantir un contact

homogène : couper le poil autour des contacteurs ou

placer les contacteurs plus longs qui sont fournis avec votre appareil.

Remarque : lorsque vous passez aux contacteurs longs, assurez-vous que les joints toriques sont fixés.

3. Vérifiez l'ajustement du collier en insérant un doigt entre l'extrémité du contacteur et le cou de votre

chien. Le collier doit être bien serré, mais sans excès.

4. Laissez votre chien porter le collier pendant quelques minutes, puis contrôlez à nouveau l’ajustement.

Vérifiez également le réglage une fois qu'il se sera habitué au collier anti-aboiement.

Remarque : si vous le souhaitez, vous pouvez couper la longueur excédentaire de la bande du collier après

avoir ajusté le collier correctement.

• Il peut être nécessaire de couper les poils de votre chien dans la zone des contacteurs. Ne rasez jamais

IMPORTANT : ne laissez pas votre chien seul les premières fois qu'il reçoit une stimulation électrostatique.

Mettez le collier anti-aboiement sur votre chien et attendez à proximité jusqu'à ce qu'il aboie. La plupart

des chiens comprennent très rapidement que le collier anti-aboiement perturbe leur besoin d'aboyer ; ils

se détendent et cessent alors d'aboyer. En raison de l’effet de surprise de la stimulation électrostatique les

premières fois, certains chiens peuvent aboyer plus au début de la stimulation électrostatique.

Dans de rares cas, le chien peut entrer dans un cycle aboiement-stimulation-aboiement-stimulation. Le

cas échéant, calmez votre chien en lui parlant doucement. Alors que votre chien se relaxe, il comprend que

lorsqu'il se calme, il ne reçoit plus de stimulation électrostatique. La petite minorité de chiens qui ont cette

réaction ne doit réagir de cette façon que la première fois qu'ils portent le collier anti-aboiement.

Vous devriez remarquer une diminution des aboiements de votre chien au cours des premiers jours

d'utilisation du collier anti-aboiement. À ce stade, il est important de se rappeler que le processus

d’apprentissage n’est pas terminé. Les chiens testent la nouvelle expérience d'apprentissage et augmentent

leurs tentatives d'aboiement. Ceci se produit généralement au cours de la deuxième semaine d'utilisation

du collier anti-aboiement. Vous devez alors rester ferme et ne pas modifier l'utilisation du collier anti-

aboiement. Vous devez placer le collier anti-aboiement sur votre chien chaque fois que vous attendez de lui

qu'il reste calme. Si votre chien ne porte pas le collier anti-aboiement, il peut reprendre ses aboiements et

son apprentissage peut être retardé.

Le collier anti-aboiement est sans danger et efficace sur toutes

les races et tailles de chien. Cependant, il se peut qu'il soit trop

grand pour les chiens de moins de 3,5 kg et ne soit pas confortable.

Ce système ne doit être utilisé qu’avec des chiens âgés de plus de

six mois. Si votre chien est blessé ou si sa mobilité est réduite,

contactez votre vétérinaire ou votre dresseur professionnel avant

utilisation.

Est-il possible pour mon chien

d'apprendre à ne pas aboyer

uniquement lorsqu'il porte le

collier anti-aboiement ?

Oui. Ceci s'obtient en plaçant le collier anti-aboiement sur votre

chien uniquement lorsque vous ne voulez pas qu'il aboie et en ne

mettant jamais le collier anti-aboiement sur votre chien lorsque

vous estimez qu'il peut aboyer.

J'ai deux chiens, mais un seul a

des problèmes d'aboiement. Cela

peut-il créer un problème entre les

chiens si je les laisse ensemble ?

Cela ne devrait pas être un problème, particulièrement si vous

suivez les procédures décrites dans ce manuel.

Le collier anti-aboiement est-il

étanche ?

Oui. Il est étanche et submersible jusqu'à 7,6 m.

Puis-je attacher une laisse au

collier anti-aboiement ?

Non. Les contacteurs risqueraient alors d’exercer une pression

trop forte sur le cou de votre chien. Attachez une laisse à un

autre collier non métallique, en veillant à ce que cet autre collier

n'exerce pas de pression sur les contacteurs.

Est-ce que je peux laisser le collier

anti-aboiement sur mon chien tout

le temps ?

Non. Ne laissez jamais le collier anti-aboiement pendant plus de

12 heures consécutives.

Que dois-je faire si le cou de mon

chien devient rouge et irrité ?

Ce problème provient d’une irritation provoquée par les

contacteurs. Arrêtez d'utiliser le collier anti-aboiement pendant

quelques jours. Si l’irritation persiste au-delà de 48 heures,

consultez votre vétérinaire. Lorsque l’irritation a disparu,

recommencez à utiliser le dispositif et contrôlez de près la peau

de votre chien.

DÉPANNAGE

• Serrez le collier anti-aboiement et/ou taillez les poils de votre

chien à l'endroit où les contacteurs touchent son cou afin de

Lees en volg de instructies in deze handleiding. Het is belangrijk dat de halsband goed past. Als een hond

de halsband te lang draagt of deze zit te strak, kan de huid worden beschadigd. Dit heet druknecrose ofwel

decubitus en is hetzelfde als een doorligwond.

• Honden mogen de halsband maximaal twaalf uur per dag dragen.

• Indien mogelijk moet u de halsband elk uur of elke twee uur draaien.

• Controleer de pasvorm om te voorkomen dat de halsband te strak zit. Volg de instructies in deze

handleiding.

• Verbind nooit een riem, identificatieplaatjes of andere voorwerpen aan de halsband, want hierdoor

ontstaat te veel druk op de contactpunten.

• Wanneer u een aparte halsband met een riem en/of identiteitsplaatje gebruikt, zorg er dan voor dat er

geen druk op de elektronische halsband is.

• Verwijder de halsband voordat u met uw hond speelt. De hond kan tijdens het spelen gaan blaffen,

waardoor het dier spelen mogelijk associeert met correctie.

• Was de nek van de hond en de contactpunten van de halsband elke week met een vochtige doek. Zet

het apparaat uit voordat u de contactpunten aanraakt. Controleer of de nek van de hond goed droog is

voordat u de halsband omdoet.

• Controleer de nek dagelijks op uitslag en wonden.

• Als u uitslag of wonden ziet, moet u de halsband niet meer gebruiken totdat de huid is genezen.

• Als dit langer dan 48 duurt, raadpleeg dan uw dierenarts.

Als u zich hieraan houdt, is uw hond veilig en comfortabel. Miljoenen honden hebben geen probleem met

het dragen van roestvrijstalen halsbanden. Sommige honden zijn gevoelig voor de druk. Het kan even duren

voordat uw hond de halsband goed verdraagt. Als dat het geval is, kunt u soepeler omgaan met sommige van

deze voorzorgsmaatregelen. Het is belangrijk dat u de nek dagelijks blijft controleren. Als u irritatie of wonden

ziet, gebruik de halsband dan niet meer totdat de huid volledig is genezen.

• U moet misschien het haar knippen op de plek van de contactpunten of de langere contactpunten

gebruiken, zodat de punten voortdurend de huid aanraken. Scheer de nek van de hond niet, want dat kan

uitslag of een infectie veroorzaken.

• Trek de halsband niet strakker aan dan nodig is voor de contactpunten. Een te strakke halsband verhoogt

het risico op druknecrose op de contactplek.

ZO WERKT HET SYSTEEM

De SBC-8 anti-blafband van SportDOG® Brand is aantoonbaar veilig, comfortabel en effectief voor honden

die meer dan 3,5 kilo wegen. De anti-blafband is voorzien van digitale technologie voor de betrouwbaarste

blafherkenning.

De SBC-8 gebruikt progressieve correctie om uw hond te corrigeren wanneer deze blaft. De correctie begint

op het laagste niveau (1) en gaat elke keer wanneer uw hond binnen dertig seconden na de vorige blaf weer

blaft, een niveau omhoog (tot niveau 8). Als uw hond niet binnen dertig seconden blaft, begint de correctie

weer op het laagste niveau (1).

OPMERKING: De SBC-8 bevat een ingebouwde veiligheidsfunctie waardoor de halsband automatisch dertig

seconden stopt met statische stimulatie als de hond vijftien keer of meer blaft binnen tachtig seconden.

Daarna werkt de band weer normaal.

STAP: 01

DE ANTIBLAFBAND VOOR DE EERSTE KEER GEBRUIKEN

Controleer of de batterijen vol zijn voordat u de SBC-8 voor het eerst gebruikt. Het apparaat wordt geleverd

met een volle batterij, zodat u het meteen kunt gebruiken. Doe de halsband op de juiste manier om door

de stappen op pagina 35 te volgen. Als u het apparaat niet kunt aanzetten of de batterij is bijna leeg (het

rode controlelampje knippert dan), moet u de batterij vervangen. De batterijduur is gemiddeld 200 uur,

afhankelijk van hoe vaak uw hond blaft.

Omdat u de halsband wellicht meer gebruikt in het begin van de training, gaat de eerste batterij mogelijk

niet zo lang mee. U kunt energie besparen als u de SBC-8 uitzet wanneer u de halsband niet gebruikt.

Vier seconden nadat het apparaat is aangezet, geeft het knipperende lampje het batterijniveau aan. In

de volgende tabel wordt aangegeven wat de verschillende kleuren van het controlelampje betekenen:

VOLG DEZE STAPPEN OM DE BATTERIJ

TE VERWISSELEN:

1. Verwijder beide schroeven aan elke kant van de

contactpunten met de bijgesloten 3/32-inbussleutel

(1A).

2. Verwijder het batterijdeksel door op één kant van de

band te drukken (1B). Dit is makkelijker als u de band

volledig van het apparaat verwijdert, maar dat is niet

per se nodig.

3. Verwijder de batterij (1C).

4. Stop er een 4L R44-batterij in die is uitgelijnd met het

batterijpictogram aan de binnenkant van het vakje.

5. Leg het batterijdeksel erop.

6. Draai de schroeven erin, maar niet te strak.

OPMERKING: 4L R44-batterijen zijn in veel winkels

verkrijgbaar. Het originele product werd geleverd met

een 3/32-inbussleutel, maar u kunt indien nodig een

nieuwe kopen bij de SportDOG®-klantenservice.

STAP: 02

GEBRUIK VAN DE ANTIBLAFBAND

DE HALSBAND AAN EN UITZETTEN

Druk op de aan/uit-knop (tussen de contactpunten) en houd die ongeveer een seconde ingedrukt. Het

apparaat en het geluidssignaal gaan meteen aan. Als u de halsband wilt uitzetten, drukt u op de aan/uit-

knop en houdt u die drie seconden ingedrukt. Er klinkt een geluidssignaal en de band gaat uit.

TESTMODUS

OPMERKING: TESTMODUS is geen functionele correctiemodus voor honden, dus gebruik deze niet voor

de training. Testmodus is bedoeld om de statische stimulatie en de werking van de halsband te testen met

behulp van de bijgeleverde Testlamptool.

1. Zorg ervoor dat de halsband uit is.

2. Zet de Testmodus aan door op de aan/uit-knop te drukken en die vijf seconden ingedrukt te houden.

3. Wanneer het controlelampje onafgebroken rood is, kunt u de aan/uit-knop loslaten.

4. De halsband piept nu, gevolgd door een snelle statische-stimulatiestoot die op niveau 1 begint en tot

niveau 8 stijgt.

Zorg ervoor dat u de contactpunten tijdens deze test niet aanraakt, anders krijgt u een statische-

stimulatiestoot. We raden aan de Testlamptool te gebruiken om de correctie te testen.

5. Aan het eind van de test gaat de halsband uit, wat wordt aangegeven door een lang geluidssignaal en

onafgebroken rood licht.

6. Als u het apparaat weer op de reguliere wijze wilt gebruiken, zet u het aan door op de aan/uit-knop te

drukken.

STAP: 03

PLAATSING VAN DE ANTIBLAFBAND

BELANGRIJK: De anti-blafband is alleen effectief als deze goed past en op de juiste manier is geplaatst.

De contactpunten moeten de huid van uw hond rechtstreeks aanraken.

Zie pagina 29 voor belangrijke veiligheidsinformatie.

Volg deze stappen om ervoor te zorgen dat de halsband goed past:

1. Zorg ervoor dat de halsband uit is.

2. Terwijl uw hond staat (3A), plaatst u de halsband zo

dat de contactpunten onder de nek van uw hond zitten

en de huid aanraken (3B). Als uw hond lang haar of

een dikke vacht heeft, kunt u dit op twee manieren

bewerkstelligen: knip het haar rond de contactpunten

of gebruik de langere contactpunten die bij het

apparaat zijn geleverd.

Opmerking: Als u de langere contactpunten gebruikt, zorg er dan voor dat de o-ringen zijn bevestigd.

3. Controleer of de halsband niet te strak zit door een vinger tussen het eind van een contactpunt en de nek

van uw hond te steken. De halsband moet goed aansluiten, maar niet belemmeren.

4. Laat uw hond de halsband enkele minuten dragen en controleer de pasvorm dan nog eens. Controleer

deze opnieuw als uw hond er meer aan gewend is om de anti-blafband te dragen.

Opmerking: Als u wilt, kunt u de extra band van de halsband afknippen wanneer deze eenmaal goed past.

• U moet misschien het haar knippen op de plek van de contactpunten. Scheer de nek van de hond niet,

want dat kan uitslag of een infectie veroorzaken.

• Trek de halsband niet strakker aan dan nodig is voor de contactpunten. Een te strakke halsband

verhoogt het risico op druknecrose op de contactplek.

WAT TE VERWACHTEN WANNEER DE HOND DE ANTIBLAFBAND

DRAAGT

BELANGRIJK: Laat uw hond nooit alleen wanneer deze de eerste keren statische stimulatie krijgt.

Doe de anti-blafband op de juiste manier om en wacht in de buurt totdat het dier blaft. De meeste honden

begrijpen snel dat de anti-blafband reageert op hun geblaf, waarna ze ontspannen en ophouden met blaffen.

Omdat de statische stimulatie honden in het begin verrast of opschrikt, blaffen sommige meer wanneer de

training net is begonnen.

In zeldzame gevallen raakt een hond verstrikt in een blaf-stimulatie-blaf-stimulatiecyclus. Als dit het

geval is met uw hond, stel het dier dan gerust door er kalm en troostend tegen te praten. Wanneer uw hond

ontspant, begrijpt hij dat geen statische stimulatie meer krijgt als hij niet blaft. Een heel klein deel van de

honden die deze reactie vertonen, doen dat alleen de eerste keer dat ze de anti-blafband dragen.

U merkt waarschijnlijk al na een paar dagen dat uw hond minder gaat blaffen. Vergeet niet dat het

leerproces nog niet is afgerond. Honden gaan de nieuwe situatie 'testen' en zullen vaker proberen te blaffen.

Dit gebeurt meestal in de tweede week dat de hond de anti-blafband draagt. Als dit het geval is, blijf dan

consistent en blijf de anti-blafband op dezelfde manier gebruiken. U moet uw hond elke keer de anti-

blafband aandoen wanneer u wilt dat het dier stil is. Als uw hond de anti-blafband niet draagt, bestaat de

kans dat hij gaat blaffen en terugvalt in zijn oude gedrag.

Is de anti-blafband veilig en

humaan?

Ja. De anti-blafband is ontworpen om de aandacht van een hond

te trekken, niet om deze te straffen. Aanvankelijk kan een hond

echter wel schrikken van de statische stimulatie.

Werkt de anti-blafband voor

mijn hond?

De anti-blafband is veilig en effectief voor alle hondensoorten

en -grootten, hoewel de band misschien te groot is voor honden

die minder dan 3,5 kilo wegen. Het systeem moet alleen worden

gebruikt voor honden die ouder dan zes maanden zijn. Als uw hond

gewond is of anderszins minder goed functioneert, verzoeken

we u vóór gebruik contact op te nemen met uw dierenarts of een

gediplomeerd trainer.

Kan mijn hond leren om niet te

blaffen alleen wanneer hij de anti-

blafband draagt?

Ja. Dit resultaat bereikt u het snelst als u uw hond alleen de anti-

blafband aandoet in situaties waarin hij van u nooit mag blaffen.

Doe de band nooit aan in situaties waarin het acceptabel is dat uw

hond blaft.

Ik heb meer dan één hond, maar

slechts één die te veel blaft.

Ontstaan er problemen tussen de

honden als ik ze bij elkaar houd?

Dat moet geen problemen opleveren, vooral niet als u de

procedures in deze gebruiksaanwijzing volgt.

Is de anti-blafband waterdicht? Ja. Deze is waterdicht en kan tot 7,6 meter onder water worden

gebruikt.

Kan ik een riem aan de anti-

blafband vastmaken?

Nee. Door het trekken van de riem kunnen de contactpunten te

strak op de nek van de hond zitten. Bevestig een riem aan een

aparte, niet-metalen halsband en zorg ervoor dat deze geen druk

op de contactpunten uitoefent.

Kan mijn hond de anti-blafband

altijd aanhouden?

Nee. Honden mogen de halsband maximaal twaalf uur achter

elkaar dragen.

Wat moet ik doen als de nek van

mijn hond rood en geïrriteerd is?

Dit komt omdat de contactpunten de huid irriteren. Gebruik de

anti-blafband een paar dagen niet. Als dit langer dan 48 duurt,

raadpleeg dan uw dierenarts. Als de huid er weer normaal uitziet,

kunt u de band weer aandoen. Blijf de huid controleren.

PROBLEMEN OPLOSSEN

Mijn hond blijft blaffen

• Zorg ervoor dat de contactpunten de huid aanraken door de anti-

blafband strakker aan te trekken en/of het haar van uw hond te

impliceert de aanvaarding van deze algemene voorwaarden en kennisgevingen. Indien u het niet eens

bent met deze algemene voorwaarden en kennisgevingen, verzoeken wij u het product ongebruikt, in

de originele verpakking en op eigen kosten en risico voor volledige restitutie terug te sturen naar de

desbetreffende klantenservicevestiging, samen met het aankoopbewijs.

2. CORRECT GEBRUIK: Correct gebruik houdt onder meer in dat de gebruiker, zonder beperking, de volledige

gebruiksaanwijzing en alle veiligheidsinformatie leest en volgt. Dit product is mogelijk niet geschikt

voor het specifieke karakter of de grootte/het gewicht van uw huisdier. Als u er niet zeker van bent of dit

product geschikt is voor uw hond, verzoeken we u vóór gebruik contact op te nemen met uw dierenarts of

een gediplomeerd trainer. Radio Systems Corporation raadt aan om producten die zijn bedoeld voor het

trainen van huisdieren, niet te gebruiken als uw huisdier agressief is en is in afzonderlijke gevallen niet

aansprakelijk voor het vaststellen van de geschiktheid voor het huisdier.

3. GEEN ONWETTELIJK OF VERBODEN GEBRUIK: Dit product is alleen ontworpen voor gebruik met

huisdieren. Dit product is niet bedoeld om schade of letsel toe te brengen of uit te lokken. Oneigenlijk

gebruik van dit product kan overtreding van nationale of lokale wetgeving inhouden.

4. BEPERKING VAN AANSPRAKELIJKHEID: Radio Systems Corporation en gelieerde ondernemingen kunnen

in geen enkel geval aansprakelijk gesteld worden voor (i) enige directe, indirecte, geldelijke, incidentele,

bijzondere of gevolgschade en/of (ii) enig verlies of welke schade dan ook die voortvloeit uit of verband

houdt met het gebruik of onjuiste gebruik van dit product. De koper aanvaardt, voor zo ver wettelijk

Lea y siga las instrucciones de este manual. El ajuste correcto del collar es importante. Llevar el collar

demasiado tiempo o demasiado apretado puede dañar la piel del cuello del perro. Estas lesiones reciben el

nombre de úlceras o llagas de decúbito o necrosis por presión.

• Evite que el perro lleve el collar más de 12 horas al día.

• Cuando sea posible, recoloque el collar en el cuello del perro cada una o dos horas.

• Compruebe el ajuste para evitar una presión excesiva; siga las instrucciones de este manual.

• Nunca use correas, chapas u otros elementos con el collar; causaría una presión excesiva en los puntos

de contacto.

• Cuando utilice otro collar para usar una correa o chapa, no presione el collar electrónico.

• Antes de jugar con el perro, quítele el collar. La actividad puede hacer que su perro ladre, lo que podría

llevarlo a asociar el juego con la corrección.

• Lave el área del cuello del perro y los puntos de contacto del collar semanalmente con un paño húmedo.

CÓMO FUNCIONA EL SISTEMA

El collar antiladridos SBC-8 de la marca SportDOG® ha demostrado que es seguro, cómodo y eficaz para

perros de más de 3,6 kilos y utiliza la tecnología digital para proporcionar la detección de los ladridos más

fiable disponible.

El SBC-8 utiliza la corrección progresiva para corregir los ladridos de su perro. La corrección comienza

en el nivel más bajo (1) y aumenta al siguiente nivel (hasta 8) cada vez que su perro ladra durante los 30

segundos siguientes al ladrido anterior. Si su perro no vuelve a ladrar en esos 30 segundos, la corrección

se restablecerá en el nivel más bajo (1).

NOTA: El collar incorpora una función de seguridad: si su perro ladra 15 veces o más en un período de

80 segundos, el SBC-8 dejará de emitir estimulación estática durante 30 segundos y luego reanudará el

funcionamiento normal.

UTILIZACIÓN DEL COLLAR ANTILADRIDOS POR PRIMERA VEZ

Antes de usar el SBC-8 por primera vez, asegúrese de comprobar que la unidad tenga carga suficiente para

comenzar a utilizarlo. Su unidad debe llegar con una pila nueva y estar lista para usarse de inmediato.

Simplemente coloque el collar correctamente siguiendo los pasos descritos en la página 47. Si la unidad no se

enciende o indica que la pila está baja (la luz indicadora roja está parpadeando), es el momento de sustituir la

pila. La vida media de la pila es de 200 horas, dependiendo de la frecuencia con la que el perro ladre.

Debido al mayor uso durante el adiestramiento inicial del perro, es posible que la primera pila dure menos.

Para conservar la vida útil de la pila, apague el SBC-8 cuando no lo utilice.

INDICADOR DE LA PILA

Una vez transcurridos 4 segundos después de encender la unidad, esta parpadeará para indicar el estado

de la pila. La siguiente tabla resume los colores de las luces indicadoras y su significado correspondiente:

SIGA ESTOS PASOS PARA CAMBIAR LA PILA:

1. Retire los dos tornillos situados a cada lado de los

puntos de contacto con la llave hexagonal 3/32

incluida (1A).

2. Retire la tapa de la pila presionando un lado de la

correa del collar (1B). Quitar la correa del collar por

completo de la unidad puede facilitar el proceso, pero

no es necesario.

3. Retire la pila actual (1C).

4. Instale una pila 4L R44 que coincida con el icono

de la pila impreso en el interior de la unidad.

5. Vuelva a colocar la tapa de la pila.

6. Vuelva a colocar los tornillos. No los apriete

demasiado.

NOTA: Las pilas 4L R44 de repuesto se pueden encontrar

en muchos minoristas. Se proporciona una llave

hexagonal 3/32 con el producto original, pero puede

comprar un kit de repuesto poniéndose en contacto con

ENCENDIDO Y APAGADO DE LA UNIDAD

Mantenga presionado el botón de encendido/apagado (ubicado entre los puntos de contacto) durante

aproximadamente un segundo. La unidad se encenderá de inmediato y emitirá una señal acústica. Para

apagar la unidad, mantenga presionado el botón de encendido/apagado durante tres segundos. Oirá una

señal acústica y, después, la unidad se apagará.

MODO DE PRUEBA

NOTA: El MODO DE PRUEBA no es un modo funcional de corrección para perros y no debe utilizarse para el

adiestramiento. El modo de prueba es para que el usuario pruebe la estimulación estática para asegurarse

de que la unidad está funcionando y debe utilizarse con la llave multiusos proporcionada.

fija.

6. Vuelva a encender la unidad con el botón de encendido/apagado para reanudar el funcionamiento

normal.

IMPORTANTE: El ajuste y la colocación adecuados del collar antiladridos son importantes para que

funcione correctamente. Los puntos de contacto deben estar en contacto directo con la piel de su perro.

Para garantizar un ajuste adecuado, siga estos pasos:

1. Asegúrese de que la unidad esté apagada.

2. Con el perro de pie (3A), centre el collar de modo que

los puntos de contacto queden debajo del cuello de

su perro, tocando la piel (3B). Si su perro tiene el pelo

largo o grueso, tiene dos opciones para asegurarse de

que se produce un contacto constante: recorte el pelo

alrededor de los puntos de contacto o cambie a los

puntos de contacto más largos incluidos en el sistema.

Nota: Cuando cambie a los puntos de contacto más largos, asegúrese de que las juntas tóricas estén unidas.

3. Compruebe la presión del collar insertando un dedo entre el extremo de un punto de contacto y el cuello

de su perro. El collar debe quedar ajustado, pero no demasiado apretado.

4. Deje que el perro use el collar durante varios minutos y luego vuelva a comprobar su ajuste.

Compruébelo de nuevo a medida que su perro se sienta más cómodo con el collar antiladridos.

Nota: Si lo desea, puede cortar el exceso de longitud de la correa después de ajustar correctamente el collar.

QUÉ OCURRE AL UTILIZAR EL COLLAR ANTILADRIDOS

IMPORTANTE: No deje a su perro solo las primeras veces que reciba una estimulación estática.

Coloque correctamente el collar antiladridos al perro y espere cerca hasta que ladre. La mayoría de los

perros entenderán rápidamente que el collar antiladridos está interrumpiendo su necesidad de ladrar y se

relajarán y dejarán de ladrar. Debido a que la estimulación estática puede sorprenderlos o asustarlos al

principio, algunos perros pueden ladrar más en la corrección inicial.

En raras ocasiones, algún perro puede entrar en un ciclo de ladrido-estimulación-ladrido-estimulación.

Si esto sucede, tranquilícelo hablándole con un tono tranquilo y relajado. A medida que el perro se relaje

comprenderá que si se calla, no recibirá más estimulación estática. Los pocos perros que muestran esta

reacción solo lo hacen la primera vez que llevan el collar antiladridos.

Debería notar una reducción en los ladridos del perro en los primeros días de uso del collar antiladridos.

En este punto, es importante recordar que el proceso de aprendizaje aún no se ha completado. Los perros

“probarán” la nueva experiencia de aprendizaje y aumentarán sus intentos de ladrar. Esto suele ocurrir

durante la segunda semana en la que el perro usa el collar antiladridos. Si esto ocurre, sea constante y

no altere el uso del collar antiladridos. Debe colocar el collar antiladridos en el perro en cada situación

en la que desee que esté tranquilo. Si su perro no lleva el collar antiladridos, podría volver a ladrar y el

aprendizaje sufriría un retroceso.

Si otro perro ladra, ¿se activará el

collar antiladridos?

No.

¿Es seguro y humano el

collar antiladridos?

Sí. El collar antiladridos está diseñado para llamar la atención de

su perro, no para castigarlo. Sin embargo, la estimulación estática

inicial puede asustar a su perro.

¿Funcionará el collar antiladridos

con mi perro?

El collar antiladridos es seguro y efectivo para todas las razas

y tamaños de perro, aunque puede resultar incómodo y demasiado

grande a perros que pesen menos de 3,6 kilos. El sistema solo

debe usarse con perros de más de seis meses. Si su perro padece

alguna lesión o limitación física, consulte con su veterinario o un

adiestrador cualificado antes de usarlo.

¿Es posible que mi perro aprenda

a no ladrar solo cuando el collar

antiladridos está encendido?

Sí. Esto se logra si le pone el collar antiladridos a su perro solo

cuando no quiere que ladre y nunca se lo pone en situaciones en las

en el collar antiladridos?

No. Esto podría hacer que los puntos de contacto estén demasiado

apretados contra el cuello de su perro. Conecte una correa a un

collar no metálico independiente, asegurándose de que el collar

adicional no ejerza presión sobre los puntos de contacto.

¿Puedo dejarle puesto el collar

antiladridos a mi perro todo el

No. Nunca deje encendido el collar antiladridos más de 12 horas

seguidas.

¿Qué debo hacer si el cuello de mi

Esto se debe a que los puntos de contacto han irritado la piel. Deje

de usar el collar antiladridos durante unos días. Si la afección

Leggere e seguire con attenzione le istruzioni contenute in questo manuale. La corretta applicazione del

collare è importante. Un collare troppo largo o troppo stretto può causare lesioni alla cute del cane. Si

tratta delle cosiddette piaghe da decubito, anche conosciute come ulcere da decubito o necrosi da pressione.

• Evitare di far indossare il collare al cane per più di 12 ore al giorno.

• Quando possibile, riposizionare il collare ogni una o due ore.

• Controllare l'aderenza del collare per evitare una pressione eccessiva; seguire le istruzioni del manuale.

• Non legare mai guinzagli, medagliette o altri oggetti al collare, in quanto comporterebbe una pressione

eccessiva sui Punti di contatto.

• Quando si utilizza un altro collare per il guinzaglio e/o la medaglietta, non esercitare pressione sul

collare elettronico.

• Prima di giocare con il cane, rimuovere il collare. L'attività può far abbaiare il cane, il che potrebbe

portarlo ad associare il gioco alla correzione.

• Lavare una volta a settimana la zona del collo e i Punti di contatto del collare con un panno umido.

Spegnere l'unità prima di toccare i Punti di contatto. Prima di sostituire il collare, assicurarsi che il collo

COME FUNZIONA IL SISTEMA

Il Collare antiabbaio SportDOG® Brand SBC-8 si è dimostrato sicuro, confortevole ed efficace per i cani

di peso superiore ai 3,6 kg. La sua tecnologia digitale fornisce il rilevamento dell'abbaio più affidabile in

assoluto.

L'SBC-8 utilizza la Correzione progressiva per correggere l'abbaiare del cane. La correzione inizia dal livello

più basso (1) e passa al livello successivo (fino a 8) ogni volta che il cane abbaia entro 30 secondi dal latrato

precedente. Se il cane non abbaia nuovamente entro 30 secondi, la correzione verrà ripristinata al livello più

basso (1).

NOTA: Come funzione di sicurezza integrata, se il cane abbaia 15 volte o più in un lasso di 80 secondi, l'SBC-8

interromperà automaticamente l'emissione della stimolazione statica per 30 secondi, per poi riprendere il

normale funzionamento.

PRIMO UTILIZZO DEL COLLARE ANTIABBAIO

Prima di utilizzare l'SBC-8 per la prima volta, verificare che la batteria dell'unità abbia una buona

autonomia. L'unità dovrebbe avere inclusa una batteria nuova ed essere pronta all'uso. Applicare

correttamente il collare seguendo i passaggi descritti a pagina 59. Se l'unità non si accende o indica che

la batteria è scarica (la spia rossa lampeggia) è necessario sostituire la batteria. La durata media della

batteria è di 200 ore e varia a seconda della frequenza con cui il cane abbaia.

A causa di un uso più intenso durante l'addestramento iniziale del cane, la prima batteria potrebbe avere una

durata minore. Per preservare la durata della batteria, spegnere l'SBC-8 quando non è in uso.

INDICAZIONE DELLA BATTERIA

Dopo 4 secondi dall'accesione, l'unità lampeggerà indicando lo stato della batteria. La seguente tabella

riassume i colori della spia luminosa e il significato corrispondente:

SEGUI QUESTA PROCEDURA PER SOSTITUIRE

LA BATTERIA:

1. Rimuovere entrambe le viti situate sui lati dei Punti

di contatto con la chiave esagonale 3/32 inclusa (1A).

2. Rimuovere il coperchio del vano batteria spingendo

un lato della cinghia del collare (1B). Rimuovere

completamente la cinghia del collare dall'unità può

semplificare il procedimento, ma non è necessario.

3. Rimuovere la batteria (1C).

4. Installare una batteria 4L R44 allineandola all'icona

della batteria stampata all'interno dell'unità.

5. Rimettere a posto il coperchio del vano batteria.

6. Reinstallare le viti. Non stringere troppo le viti.

NOTA: Le batterie 4L R44 sono disponibili presso

molti rivenditori. Con il prodotto è inclusa una chiave

esagonale 3/32, tuttavia è possibile acquistare un kit di

ricambio contattando l'Assistenza clienti di SportDOG®.

USARE IL COLLARE ANTIABBAIO

ACCENDERE/SPEGNERE L'UNITÀ.

Tenere premuto il pulsante On/Off (situato tra i Punti di contatto) per circa un secondo. L'unità si accenderà

immediatamente emettendo un segnale acustico. Per spegnere l'unità, tenere premuto il pulsante On/Off

per tre secondi. L'unità emetterà un segnale acustico e si spegnerà.

MODALITÀ DI TEST

NOTA: La MODALITÀ DI TEST non è una modalità di correzione funzionale per i cani e non deve essere

utilizzata per l'addestramento. La Modalità di test consente all'utente di collaudare la stimolazione statica

per verificare il funzionamento dell'unità e deve essere utilizzata con la Chiave multiusi inclusa.

6. Riaccendere l'unità con il pulsante On/Off per tornare alla modalità di funzionamento normale.

APPLICARE IL COLLARE ANTIABBAIO

IMPORTANTE: La corretta applicazione del Collare antiabbaio è importante per un funzionamento efficace.

I Punti di contatto devono essere a contatto diretto con la pelle del cane.

Consultare pagina 53 per le Importanti informazioni di sicurezza

Per assicurarsi un'applicazione corretta, seguire questi passaggi:

1. Assicurarsi che l'unità sia spenta.

2. Facendo stare il cane in piedi (3A), posizionare il collare

in modo che i Punti di contatto siano sotto il suo collo

e a contatto con la pelle (3B). Se il cane ha il pelo lungo

o spesso, ci due opzioni per garantire un contatto

uniforme: accorciare il pelo nella zona intorno ai Punti

di contatto o passare ai Punti di contatto più lunghi

inclusi nel sistema.

Nota: Quando si utilizzano i Punti di contatto più lunghi, assicurarsi l'applicazione delle guarnizioni ad

anello.

3. Controllare l'aderenza del collare inserendo un dito tra l'estremità di un Punto di contatto e il collo del

cane. Il collare deve essere aderente, ma non stretto.

4. Lasciare il collare addosso al cane per diversi minuti, quindi ricontrollarne l'aderenza. Una volta che il

cane si è abituato a indossare il dispositivo, verificare nuovamente l'aderenza del Collare antiabbaio.

Nota: Dopo aver correttamente applicato il collare, è possibile tagliare l'eventuale parte in eccesso della

cinghia.

• Potrebbe essere necessario accorciare il pelo nella zona dei Punti di contatto. Non rasare il collo del

cane perché l'uso del collare in queste condizioni potrebbe causare eruzioni cutanee o infezioni.

• Evitare di stringere il collare più del necessario. Un collare troppo stretto aumenta il rischio di necrosi

da pressione nella zona di contatto.

COSA ASPETTARSI DURANTE L'UTILIZZO DEL COLLARE ANTIABBAIO

IMPORTANTE: Non lasciare il cane da solo le prime volte che riceve una stimolazione statica.

Applicare correttamente il Collare antiabbaio al cane e attendere nelle vicinanze fino a quando non abbaia.

La maggior parte dei cani capirà rapidamente che il Collare antiabbaio elimina il desiderio di abbaiare,

quindi si rilasserà e smetterà di abbaiare. Dato che la stimolazione statica inizialmente può cogliere di

sorpresa o disorientare, può capitare che durante le prime correzioni alcuni cani abbaino maggiormente.

In rare occasioni, un cane può entrare in un circolo di latrato-stimolazione-latrato-stimolazione. Se ciò

accade, rassicurare il cane con voce calma e rilassante. Rilassandosi, il cane capirà che se rimane tranquillo

non riceverà più stimolazioni statiche. Una piccola minoranza di cani avrà questa reazione solo la prima

volta che indosserà il Collare antiabbaio.

Il cane dovrebbe abbaiare con minore frequenza entro i primi due giorni in cui indossa il Collare antiabbaio.

A questo punto è importante ricordare che il processo di apprendimento non è ancora completo. I cani

“metteranno alla prova” la nuova esperienza di apprendimento e aumenteranno i tentativi di abbaiare. Questo

di solito si verifica durante la seconda settimana in cui il cane indossa il Collare antiabbaio. In tal caso è

importante non modificare il processo di addestramento e l'uso del Collare antiabbaio. È necessario applicare

al cane il Collare antiabbaio in ogni occasione in cui si desidera che non abbai. Se il cane smette di indossare

il Collare antiabbaio, è possibile che riprenda ad abbaiare e che il suo apprendimento subisca una battuta

d'arresto.

tuo cane, non per punirlo. Tuttavia, inizialmente la stimolazione

statica potrebbe spaventarlo.

Il Collare antiabbaio andrà bene per

il mio cane?

Il Collare antiabbaio è sicuro ed efficace per i cani di tutte le razze

e dimensioni, tuttavia potrebbe essere troppo largo per risultare

confortevole per i cani di peso inferiore ai 3,6 kg. Il sistema deve

essere usato solo con cani di età superiore ai sei mesi. Se il cane è

ferito o la sua mobilità è compromessa in altri modi, contattare il

veterinario o un istruttore professionista prima dell'uso.

No. In questo modo c'è il rischio che i Punti di contatto premano

eccessivamente sul collo del cane. Attaccare piuttosto il

guinzaglio a un altro collare non metallico, assicurandosi che

quest'ultimo non eserciti pressione sui Punti di contatto.

Posso lasciare il Collare antiabbaio

addosso al mio cane sempre?

No. Non fare mai indossare il Collare antiabbaio al cane per più

di 12 ore consecutive al giorno.

Cosa devo fare se il collo del mio

cane diventa rosso e irritato?

Questa condizione si verifica perché i Punti di contatto irritano la

pelle. Sospendere l'uso del Collare antiabbaio per alcuni giorni.

Se la condizione persiste oltre le 48 ore, consultare il veterinario.

Una volta che la pelle è tornata alla normalità, riprendere l'uso ed

esaminare attentamente e costantemente le condizioni della pelle.

• Den Hund das Halsband täglich nicht länger als 12 Stunden tragen lassen

• Die Lage des Halsbands am Hals des Hundes nach Möglichkeit alle ein bis zwei Stunden verändern

• Den Sitz des Halsbands überprüfen, um übermäßigen Druck zu vermeiden, siehe Anweisungen in dieser

Gebrauchsanleitung

• Das Halsband niemals zum Anleinen oder Befestigen von Marken oder anderen Gegenständen

verwenden, da dies zu überhöhtem Druck an den Kontaktstiften führt

• Bei Verwendung eines separaten Halsbands zum Anleinen oder Befestigen von Marken keinen Druck auf

das elektronische Halsband bringen

• Das Halsband vor dem Spielen mit dem Hund abnehmen. Wenn der Hund während des Spielens bellt,

kann er das Spiel mit der Korrektur in Verbindung bringen.

Diese Schritte sollen zur Sicherheit und zum Komfort Ihres Hundes beitragen. Millionen von Hunden sind

gegenüber Edelstahlkontakten unempfindlich. Manche Hunde reagieren auf Kontaktdruck empfindlich.

Ihr Hund sollte das Halsband nach gewisser Zeit sehr gut tolerieren. In diesem Fall können Sie manche

dieser Vorsichtsmaßnahmen lockern. Der Kontaktbereich muss jedoch weiterhin täglich überprüft werden.

Unterbrechen Sie die Verwendung bei Auftreten von Rötungen oder wunden Stellen, bis die Haut vollständig

ausgeheilt ist.

• Gegebenenfalls müssen die Haare im Bereich der Kontaktstifte gekürzt oder die längeren Kontaktstifte

verwendet werden, um einen dauerhaften Kontakt sicherzustellen. Rasieren Sie in keinem Fall den Hals

des Hundes, da dies zu Hautausschlag oder Entzündungen führen kann.

SO FUNKTIONIERT DAS SYSTEM

Das SportDOG® Brand SBC-8 Antibellhalsband hat sich bei Hunden ab 3,6 kg als sicher, komfortabel und

wirkungsvoll erwiesen. Die in das Antibellhalsband integrierte digitale Technologie bietet eine äußerst

zuverlässige Bellerkennung.

Mit dem SBC-8 wird das Bellen durch stetig steigende Korrektur unterbunden. Die Korrektur beginnt auf der

niedrigsten Stufe (1) und steigt an, wenn Ihr Hund innerhalb von 30 Sekunden erneut bellt (bis Stufe 8). Wenn

Ihr Hund länger als 30 Sekunden nicht bellt, wird die Korrektur auf die niedrigste Stufe (1) zurückgesetzt.

HINWEIS: Das Halsband verfügt über eine integrierte Sicherheitsfunktion. Falls Ihr Hund innerhalb

von 80 Sekunden 15 Mal oder öfter bellt, wird der statische Reizimpuls durch das SBC-8 automatisch

30 Sekunden lang unterbrochen und das Training anschließend im normalen Betrieb fortgesetzt.

ERSTMALIGE VERWENDUNG DES ANTIBELLHALSBANDS

Überprüfen Sie vor der ersten Verwendung des SBC-8, ob die Batterien einen ausreichend hohen

Ladezustand aufweisen. Im Lieferumfang der Einheit sollte eine neue Batterie enthalten sein, sodass Sie

das Halsband sofort verwenden können. Passen Sie das Halsband entsprechend den Schritten auf Seite 71

richtig an. Falls sich die Einheit nicht einschalten lässt oder die rot blinkende LED-Leuchte auf einen

niedrigen Batteriestand hinweist, wechseln Sie die Batterie aus. Die Batterielebensdauer liegt abhängig

davon, wie oft Ihr Hund bellt, bei durchschnittlich 200 Stunden.

Aufgrund der zu Beginn des Trainings erhöhten Inanspruchnahme hält die erste Batterie möglicherweise

nicht so lange. Schalten Sie das SBC-8 bei Nichtverwendung zur Schonung der Batterie aus.

Auf der Einheit wird 4 Sekunden nach dem Einschalten durch Blinken der Batteriestatus angezeigt. In der

folgenden Tabelle sind die Farben der LED-Leuchten und ihre jeweilige Bedeutung aufgeführt:

SO WECHSELN SIE DIE BATTERIE AUS:

1. Entfernen Sie die beiden Schrauben neben den

Kontaktstiften mit dem im Lieferumfang enthaltenen

Inbusschlüssel 3/32 (1A).

2. Schieben Sie zum Entfernen des Batteriedeckels

das Halsband auf einer Seite durch den Schlitz

am Gehäuse (1B). Sie können das Halsband auch

vollständig von der Einheit entfernen. Dies

vereinfacht den Vorgang, ist aber nicht erforderlich.

3. Entfernen Sie die eingelegte Batterie (1C).

4. Setzen Sie eine neue 4LR44-Batterie ein. Die Richtung

der Pole ist durch ein Batteriesymbol im Batteriefach

angegeben.

5. Bringen Sie den Batteriedeckel wieder an.

6. Ziehen Sie die Schrauben wieder fest. Achten Sie

darauf, die Schrauben nicht zu überdrehen.

HINWEIS: 4LR44-Batterien sind im Einzelhandel

erhältlich. Im Lieferumfang des Originalprodukts ist

ein Inbusschlüssel 3/32 enthalten. Sie können jedoch

bei Bedarf über die Kundenbetreuung von SportDOG®

ein Ersatzkit erwerben.

VERWENDEN DES ANTIBELLHALSBANDS

EIN UND AUSSCHALTEN DER EINHEIT

Halten Sie die Ein/Aus-Taste (zwischen den Kontaktstiften) etwa 1 Sekunde lang gedrückt. Die Einheit

wird eingeschaltet, und Sie hören ein Tonsignal. Zum Ausschalten der Einheit halten Sie die Ein/Aus-Taste

3 Sekunden lang gedrückt. Sie hören ein Tonsignal, und die Einheit wird ausgeschaltet.

TESTMODUS

HINWEIS: Der TESTMODUS dient nicht zur Korrektur von Hunden und sollte nicht zum Training verwendet

werden. Im Testmodus kann der Benutzer den statischen Reizimpuls überprüfen, um sicherzustellen, dass

die Einheit funktioniert. Hierfür sollte die mitgelieferte Testleuchte verwendet werden.

3. Sobald die LED-Leuchte dauerhaft rot leuchtet, können Sie die Ein/Aus-Taste loslassen.

4. Die Einheit gibt ein Tonsignal aus, gefolgt von einem kurzen statischen Reizimpuls. Der Reizimpuls

beginnt bei Stufe 1 und steigt bis Stufe 8 an.

Achten Sie darauf, die Kontaktstifte während der Testsequenz nicht zu berühren, da Sie sonst einen

statischen Korrekturimpuls erhalten. Testen Sie den Korrekturimpuls vorzugsweise mit der Testleuchte.

5. Die Einheit schaltet sich nach Beendigung des Tests automatisch aus. Sie hören ein langes Tonsignal,

und die LED leuchtet dauerhaft rot.

6. Schalten Sie die Einheit erneut über die Ein/Aus-Taste ein, um den normalen Betrieb fortzusetzen.

ANPASSEN DES ANTIBELLHALSBANDS

WICHTIG: Für den wirkungsvollen Einsatz ist wichtig, dass das Antibellhalsband passend eingestellt ist und

an der richtigen Stelle sitzt. Die Kontaktstifte müssen direkten Kontakt zur Haut Ihres Hundes haben.

Wichtige Informationen zur Sicherheit finden Sie auf Seite 65.

So stellen Sie den richtigen Sitz sicher:

1. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Einheit ausgeschaltet ist.

2. Ihr Hund muss bei der Anpassung stehen (3A). Platzieren Sie das Halsband so, dass sich die Kontaktstifte

mittig an der Unterseite des Halses befinden und die Haut Ihres Hundes berühren (3B). Wenn Ihr

Hund ein langes oder dichtes Fell hat, haben Sie

zwei Möglichkeiten, um den dauerhaften Kontakt

sicherzustellen: Sie können wahlweise das Fell

im Bereich der Kontaktstifte kürzen oder die im

Lieferumfang des Systems enthaltenen längeren

Kontaktstifte verwenden.

Hinweis: Achten Sie bei Verwendung der längeren Kontaktstifte darauf, dass die Dichtungsringe angebracht

sind.

3. Das Halsband sollte so anliegen, dass zwischen das Ende eines Kontaktstifts und den Hals Ihres Hundes

ein Finger passt. Wichtig ist, dass es eng anliegt, den Hund jedoch nicht einengt.

4. Warten Sie nach dem Anpassen des Halsbands mehrere Minuten, und überprüfen Sie den Sitz

anschließend erneut. Überprüfen Sie den Sitz des Antibellhalsbands erneut, sobald sich Ihr Hund damit

wohler fühlt.

Hinweis: Sie können die überschüssige Länge des Halsbands auch abschneiden, nachdem Sie es richtig angepasst

haben.

• Sie müssen gegebenenfalls das Fell im Bereich der Kontaktstifte kürzen. Rasieren Sie in keinem Fall

den Hals des Hundes, da dies zu Hautausschlag oder Entzündungen führen kann.

• Legen Sie das Halsband nur so eng an, dass ein guter Kontakt vorhanden ist. Ein zu eng anliegendes

Halsband erhöht das Risiko einer Drucknekrose im Kontaktbereich.

MÖGLICHE REAKTIONEN BEI VERWENDUNG DES

ANTIBELLHALSBANDS

WICHTIG: Lassen Sie Ihren Hund während der ersten Verwendung des Halsbands mit statischem Reizimpuls

nicht unbeaufsichtigt.

Legen Sie ihm das Antibellhalsband ordnungsgemäß an, und warten Sie in der Nähe, bis er bellt. Die meisten

Hunde lassen sich schnell durch den statischen Reizimpuls des Antibellhalsbands vom Bellen ablenken.

Sie entspannen sich und hören auf zu bellen. Da der statische Reizimpuls zunächst überraschend oder

erschreckend sein kann, bellen manche Hunde bei der anfänglichen Korrektur mehr.

In seltenen Fällen kann es vorkommen, dass ein Hund zunächst beginnt, bei jedem Reizimpuls zu bellen.

Beruhigen Sie Ihren Hund in diesem Fall mit besänftigender Stimme. Dadurch, dass sich Ihr Hund entspannt,

lernt er zu verstehen, dass der statische Reizimpuls ausbleibt, wenn er still ist. Einige wenige Hunde zeigen

diese Reaktion nur beim ersten Tragen des Antibellhalsbands.

Sie sollten andernfalls innerhalb der ersten Tage, in denen Ihr Hund das Antibellhalsband trägt, einen

Rückgang des Bellens feststellen. An diesem Punkt ist zu berücksichtigen, dass der Lernprozess noch nicht

abgeschlossen ist. Hunde „testen“ die neue Lernerfahrung und bellen zunächst häufiger. Dies ist in der Regel

in der zweiten Woche mit dem Antibellhalsband der Fall. Verwenden Sie das Antibellhalsband in diesem Fall

konsistent weiter. Wichtig ist, dass Sie Ihrem Hund das Antibellhalsband in jeder Situation anlegen, in der er

still sein soll. Ohne das Antibellhalsband beginnt er möglicherweise wieder zu bellen, was einen Rückschritt

in seinem Lernen darstellt.

Nein.

Ist das Antibellhalsband sicher

und human?

Ja. Das Antibellhalsband dient dazu, die Aufmerksamkeit Ihres

Hundes zu erlangen, und nicht, ihn zu bestrafen. Ihr Hund kann

anfänglich jedoch durch den statischen Reizimpuls erschrecken.

Wird das Antibellhalsband bei

meinem Hund Wirkung zeigen?

Das Antibellhalsband eignet sich sicher und wirkungsvoll für

Hunde jeglicher Rasse und Größe. Bei Hunden unter 3,6 kg kann es

jedoch zu groß sein, um ein komfortables Tragen zu gewährleisten.

Das System sollte nur für Hunde verwendet werden, die älter als

sechs Monate sind. Wenn Ihr Hund verletzt oder anderweitig in

seiner Bewegungsfreiheit eingeschränkt ist, konsultieren Sie vor

der Verwendung Ihren Tierarzt oder einen professionellen Trainer.

Kann mein Hund lernen, nur

dann nicht zu bellen, wenn er

das Antibellhalsband trägt?

Ja. Dies erreichen Sie am besten, wenn Sie Ihrem Hund das

Antibellhalsband nur in Situationen anlegen, in denen er nie

bellen soll. Lassen Sie das Antibellhalsband in Situationen weg,

in denen Ihr Hund bellend darf.

Ich habe mehrere Hunde, aber nur

einen, der übermäßig bellt. Kann

ich die Hunde bei Verwendung des

Antibellhalsbands problemlos

zusammen lassen?

Dies sollte möglich sein, insbesondere wenn Sie die in dieser

Gebrauchsanweisung beschriebenen Verfahren befolgen.

Ist das Antibellhalsband

wasserdicht?

Ja. Es ist bis zu einer Tiefe von 7,6 m wasserdicht.

Kann ich meinen Hund am

Antibellhalsband anleinen?

Nein. Durch Ziehen an der Leine können die Kontaktstifte zu eng

am Hals Ihres Hundes anliegen. Leinen Sie Ihren Hund an einem

separaten Leder- oder Nylonhalsband (ohne Metall) an. Achten

Sie darauf, dass durch das zusätzliche Halsband kein Druck auf die

Kontaktstifte ausgeübt wird.

Kann mein Hund das

Antibellhalsband rund um die Uhr

tragen?

Nein. Der Hund sollte das Antibellhalsband täglich nicht länger

als 12 Stunden tragen.

Was sollte ich tun, wenn die Haut

am Hals meines Hundes gerötet

und gereizt wird?

Es kann vorkommen, dass die Kontaktstifte die Haut reizen.

Unterbrechen Sie die Verwendung des Antibellhalsbands für

mehrere Tage. Falls der Zustand länger als 48 Stunden anhält,

Ihren Tierarzt konsultieren Setzen Sie die Verwendung fort, sobald

die Haut wieder normal ist, und beobachten Sie den Hautzustand

sorgfältig.

FEHLERBEHEBUNG

Mein Hund reagiert nicht auf

• Bringen Sie das Antibellhalsband enger an, und/oder kürzen

Sie das Fell Ihres Hundes dort, wo die Kontaktstifte seinen Hals

berühren, um einen guten Hautkontakt sicherzustellen.

• Wechseln Sie die Batterie aus.

• Verwenden Sie die längeren Kontaktstifte.

• Falls Ihr Hund dennoch nicht reagiert, wenden Sie sich

an die Kundenbetreuung.
