Your CROS transmitter
CROS solutions are designed for people with profound
hearing loss in one ear which can not be aided with a
hearing inrument. A CROS transmitter worn on this
ear captures sound from this side and transmits it to
the hearing inrument on the other ear. This allows the
wearer of the hearing inrument to hear sounds from
both sides.

Two solutions are available:
● CROS solution:
For people with normal hearing in one ear and
profound hearing loss in the other. Sounds from the
side with hearing loss are captured and transmitted
wirelessly to the good-hearing side.
● BiCROS solution:
For people with profound hearing loss in one ear
and less severe hearing loss in the other. Sounds
from the more severe hearing loss side are captured
and transmitted wirelessly to the better-hearing side.
The hearing inrument processes and amplies the
sounds from both sides.
The CROS transmitter works with our specic wireless
hearing inruments. Your Hearing Care Professional will
advise you on the compatible models.

This user guide only applies to the CROS
transmitter. Your hearing inrument has a separate
user guide.

Controls
Your CROS transmitter has no controls. If you want to
adju the volume or switch hearing programs manually,
you can ask your Hearing Care Professional about a
remote control option.

Daily use
Inserting and removing the transmitter
Your hearing inruments have been ne-tuned for your
right and left ear. Colored markers
indicate the side:
● red marker = right ear
● blue marker = left ear
Inserting the device:
XFor Sleeves, take care that the
bend of the Sleeve is in line with the bend of the
receiver cable. See the following illurations.

XHold the receiver cable at the bend closer to the
ear piece.
XCarefully push the ear piece in
the ear canal ➊.
XTwi it slightly until it sits well.
Open and close your mouth to
avoid accumulation of air in the
ear canal.
XLift the device and slide it over
the top of your ear ➋.

● It may be helpful to insert the right device with
the right hand and the left device with the left
hand.
● If you have problems inserting the ear piece,
use the other hand to gently pull your earlobe
downwards. This opens the ear canal and eases
insertion of the ear piece.

The optional retention rand helps to securely retain the
ear piece in your ear. To position the retention rand:
XBend the retention rand and
position it carefully into the
bottom of the bowl of your ear
(refer to the picture).
Removing a device:
XLift the device and slide it over
the top of the ear ➊.
XIf the device is equipped with
a cuom shell or a mold,
remove it by pulling the small
removal cord toward the back
of the head.

XFor all other ear pieces: Grip the receiver in the
ear canal with two ngers and pull it carefully out ➋.
Do not pull the receiver cable.

Turning on and o
You have the following options to turn your device on or
o.
Via charger:
XTurning on: Take the device out of the charger.
The artup melody is played in your hearing
inrument. The default volume and hearing program
are set.
XTurning o: Place the device in the charger.
For details refer to the charger's user guide.
Note that the charger mu be turned on.

Switching to andby mode
Via remote control or smartphone app, you can switch
your device to andby mode. This mutes the device.
When you leave andby mode, the previously used
volume and hearing program are set.
Note:
● In andby mode, the device is not turned o
completely. It draws some power.
Therefore we recommend to use andby mode only
for a short period of time.
● If you want to leave andby mode, but the remote
control or app is not at hand: Turn your device o and
on again (by shortly placing it in the charger until the
green LED lights up). In this case, the default volume
and hearing program are set.

Changing the hearing program
Depending on the liening situation, your device
automatically adju their sound.
Your device may also have several hearing programs
which allow you to change the sound, if needed. An
optional signal tone can indicate the program change.
XTo change the hearing program, refer to section
"Hearing programs" for a li of your hearing programs.
The default volume is applied.
Bluetooth
Your device is equipped with Bluetooth®* wireless
technology.
In an airplane, the use of Bluetooth functionality may
be rericted, especially during take-o and landing. If
this is the case, you can switch o Bluetooth wireless
technology in your device via the smartphone app.

Charging
For your CROS transmitter, you have the choice between
Styletto AX Charger ➊ or D&C Charger slimRIC ➋.

XTo charge your transmitter, place it in the charger.
XFollow the inructions in the charger's user guide. You
can also nd useful tips for charging in the charger's
user guide.
Low power indication
You will hear an alert signal in your hearing inrument to
indicate that the lithium-ion rechargeable battery of your
transmitter is running low. The signal will be repeated
every 20 minutes. Depending on the usage of your
hearing inruments, you have approximately 1.5 hours
to charge your hearing inruments before they op
working.
Note that the power cell runtime is reduced if too many
features are used simultaneously.

Maintenance and care
To prevent damage it is important that you take care of
your device and follow a few basic rules, which will soon
become a part of your daily routine.
Transmitter
Cleaning
Your device has protective coating. However, if not
cleaned regularly you may damage the device or cause
personal injury.
XClean your device daily with a soft, dry tissue.
XNever use running water or immerse the
device in water.
XNever apply pressure while cleaning.
XDo not use alcoholic solvent on the charging contact.
XTo avoid corrosion, use a soft and dry tissue to wipe
o sweat or liquid from the charging contact or device
before inserting this in the charger.
XAsk your Hearing Care Professional for recommended
cleaning products, special care sets, or more
information on how to keep your device in good
condition.

Drying
You can use conventional products to dry your device
or the optional D&C Charger slimRIC. Ask your Hearing
Care Professional for recommended drying products and
for individual inructions on when to dry your device.
Storage
● Short-term orage (up to several days):
Turn o your device by placing it in the powered
charger.
The charger mu be on. If the charger is not on and
you place your devices in the charger, the devices
are not turned o. Note that when you turn o the
CROS transmitter via a remote control or smartphone
app, the device is not turned o completely. It is in
andby-mode and ill draw some power.
● Long-term orage (weeks, months, ...):
Fir, fully charge your CROS transmitter. Leave it in
the Styletto AX Charger with the lid closed. Once the
device is fully charged, the charger and the CROS
transmitter are turned o automatically.
We recommend using drying products while oring
the device.
At 6 month intervals you will have to charge the device
to avoid an unrecoverable deep-discharge of the
rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Deep-discharged

batteries cannot be charged anymore and they have
to be replaced. We recommend recharging more
frequently than at intervals of 6 months.

Ear pieces
Cleaning
Cerumen (ear wax) may accumulate on the ear pieces.
This may aect sound quality. Clean the ear pieces daily.
For all types of ear pieces:
XClean the
ear piece right
after removal
with a soft and
dry tissue.
This prevents
that cerumen
becomes dry
and hard.
Exchanging
Exchange andard ear pieces approximately every
three months. Replace them sooner if you notice
cracks or other changes. The procedure for exchanging
andard ear pieces depends on the type of ear piece.

Professional has marked your type of ear piece.
XTo remove the old Eartip or Sleeve, follow the
illuration below. Be careful not to pull the receiver
cable.

Your Hearing Care Professional can perform a thorough
professional cleaning and maintenance.
Cuom-made ear pieces and wax lters should
be exchanged as needed by your Hearing Care
Professional.
Ask your Hearing Care Professional for your individual
recommendation of maintenance intervals and for
support.

Troubleshooting
Problem and possible solutions
Hearing inrument emits signal tones.
● Charge the device.
● Refer to the user guide of your hearing inrument.
Device does not work.
● Turn the device on.
● Charge the device. Observe also the atus LEDs
on the charger.
Consult your Hearing Care Professional if you encounter
further problems.

experience any unusual side eects like skin
irritation, excessive accumulation of ear wax,

hearing inrument manufacturer regarding the

prospective device user to consult a licensed
physician before using the device if the Hearing
Care Professional determines that the prospective

XHiory of sudden or rapidly progressive hearing

Su transmisor CROS
Las soluciones CROS se han diseñado para personas
con una pérdida de audición profunda en un oído
que no se puede mejorar con el uso de un audífono.
El transmisor CROS colocado en ese oído captura
el sonido de ese lado y lo transmite al audífono
del otro oído. Eo permite al usuario del audífono
escuchar los sonidos de ambos lados.

Hay dos soluciones disponibles:
● Solución CROS:
Para personas con una audición normal en un oído
y una pérdida profunda de audición en el oído
contrario. Los sonidos procedentes del lado con
pérdida de audición se capturan y se transmiten
de forma inalámbrica al lado que cuenta con una
buena audición.
● Solución BiCROS:
Para personas con una pérdida profunda de audición
en un oído y una pérdida de audición menos grave
en el oído contrario. Los sonidos procedentes del lado
con una pérdida de audición más grave se capturan
y se transmiten de forma inalámbrica al lado que
cuenta con una mejor audición. El audífono procesa
y amplica los sonidos de los dos lados.
El transmisor CROS funciona con nueros audífonos
inalámbricos especícos. Su especialia en audición
le informará sobre los modelos compatibles.

Controles
El transmisor CROS no tiene controles. Si desea
ajuar el volumen o cambiar de programa de audición
manualmente, puede solicitar a su especialia en
audición la opción de usar un telemando.

Uso diario
Colocación y extracción del transmisor
Los audífonos se han ajuado para el oído derecho
e izquierdo. El color de las marcas
indican el lado:
● marca roja = oído derecho
● marca azul = oído izquierdo
Colocación del dispositivo:
XEn el caso de Sleeves, asegúrese
de que la curvatura del Sleeve
eé alineada con la curva del cable del auricular.

El  lamento de sujeción opcional ayuda a retener de forma
segura el molde en el oído. Para colocar el lamento
de sujeción:
XDoble el lamento de sujeción
y colóquelo con cuidado en la parte
inferior de la cavidad de la oreja
(consulte la imagen).
Extracción de un dispositivo:
XLevante el dispositivo
y deslícelo por la parte superior

de una carcasa personalizada
o un molde, extráigalos tirando
de la pequeña cuerda de

Conexión y desconexión
Dispone de las siguientes opciones para conectar
y desconectar el dispositivo.
Mediante cargador:
XConexión: Retire el dispositivo del cargador.
Se reproduce la melodía de inicio en el audífono.
Se reablecen el volumen y el programa de audición
predeterminados.
XDesconexión: Coloque el dispositivo en el cargador.
Para obtener más información, consulte el manual

Tenga en cuenta que el cargador debe ear
encendido.

Cambio al modo de reposo
Puede poner el dispositivo en modo de espera (andby)
con un telemando o la aplicación para smartphones.
De ea manera, el dispositivo se silencia. Cuando
se sale del modo de espera, se recuperan el volumen
y el programa de audición utilizados anteriormente.
Nota:
● En el modo de espera, el dispositivo no eá apagado
por completo. Sigue consumiendo algo de energía.
Por ee motivo, se recomienda utilizar el modo
de espera solo durante períodos breves.
● Si desea salir del modo de espera, pero no tiene
a mano el telemando o la aplicación: Apague y vuelva
a encender el dispositivo (colocándolo brevemente
en el cargador haa que se encienda el LED verde).
En tal caso, se reablecen el volumen y el programa
de audición predeterminados.

Cambio del programa de audición
El dispositivo ajua automáticamente el sonido según
la situación auditiva.
Es posible que el dispositivo también tenga varios
programas de audición que le permitan cambiar
el sonido, si es necesario. Un tono de aviso opcional
puede indicar el cambio de programa.
XPara cambiar de programa de audición y ver una lia
de los programas de audición, consulte la sección
"Programas de audición".
Se ha aplicado el volumen predeterminado.
Bluetooth
Su dispositivo incluye Bluetooth®* tecnología inalámbrica.
En un avión, es posible que se rerinja el uso
de la función Bluetooth, especialmente durante
el despegue y el aterrizaje. En ese caso, puede
desactivar la tecnología inalámbrica Bluetooth
en su dispositivo a través de la aplicación para
smartphones.

Carga
Para su transmisor CROS, puede elegir entre
Styletto AX Charger ➊ o D&C Charger slimRIC ➋.

XPara cargar el transmisor, colóquelo en el cargador.
XSiga las inrucciones del manual del operador del
cargador. En el manual del operador del cargador
también encontrará consejos útiles para la carga.
Indicación de nivel bajo de batería
Su audífono emitirá un tono de aviso para indicar
que la pila recargable de iones de litio del transmisor
se eá agotando. El tono se repetirá cada 20 minutos.
Según el nivel de uso de los audífonos, tiene
aproximadamente 1,5 horas para cargar los audífonos
antes de que dejen de funcionar.
Tenga en cuenta que el tiempo de ejecución de la batería
se reduce si se utilizan demasiadas funciones al mismo
tiempo.

Mantenimiento y cuidados
Para evitar daños, es importante que cuide el dispositivo
y siga algunas normas básicas que pronto se convertirán
en parte de su rutina diaria.
Transmisor
Limpieza
Su dispositivo tiene un reveimiento protector.
No obante, si no se limpia regularmente, pueden
producirse daños en el dispositivo o lesiones personales.
XLimpie el dispositivo a diario con un paño suave
y seco.
XNo utilice nunca agua corriente ni sumerja
el dispositivo en agua.
XNo aplique nunca presión durante
la limpieza.
XNo utilice disolvente alcohólico sobre el contacto
de carga.
XPara evitar la corrosión, use un paño suave y seco
para limpiar el sudor o cualquier líquido de los
contactos de carga o del audífono antes de colocarlo
en el cargador.
XPregunte a su especialia en audición sobre
los productos de limpieza recomendados y los kits
de mantenimiento, o pídale más información sobre
cómo mantener el dispositivo en buen eado.

Secado
Para secar el dispositivo, puede utilizar productos
convencionales o el D&C Charger slimRIC opcional.
Pregunte a su especialista en audición sobre los
productos de secado recomendados y sobre instrucciones
especícas acerca de cuándo secar el dispositivo.
Almacenamiento
● Almacenamiento a corto plazo (varios días):
Apague el dispositivo. Para ello, colóquelo
en el cargador encendido.
El cargador debe ear conectado. Si el cargador
no eá conectado y ued coloca el dispositivo
en el cargador, ee no se apagará. Tenga en cuenta
que si apaga el transmisor CROS con un telemando
o la aplicación para smartphones, el dispositivo
no se apaga por completo. Entra en modo de espera
y sigue consumiendo algo de energía.
● Almacenamiento a largo plazo (semanas, meses, etc.):
En primer lugar, cargue del todo el transmisor
CROS. Déjelo en el Styletto AX Charger con la
tapa cerrada. Cuando el dispositivo eé totalmente
cargado, el cargador y el transmisor CROS se apagan
automáticamente.
Se recomienda usar productos de secado
al almacenar el dispositivo.
Deberá cargar el dispositivo cada seis meses a n de
evitar una descarga completa irrecuperable de la pila

recargable de iones de litio. Las baterías que se han
descargado completamente no pueden volver a car -
garse y deben sustituirse. Se recomienda recargar
con más frecuencia que a intervalos de seis meses.
Respete las condiciones de almacenamiento
de la sección "Condiciones de funcionamiento,
transporte y almacenamiento".
Moldes
Limpieza
Puede acumularse cerumen (cera del oído) en los
moldes. Eo puede afectar a la calidad del sonido.
Limpie los moldes a diario.
Para todos los tipos de moldes:
XLimpie el molde
con un paño
suave y seco
justo después
de extraerlo.
De ee modo
se evita que el
cerumen se seque
y se endurezca.
 Suitución
Suituya los moldes eándar aproximadamente cada
tres meses. Suitúyalos más pronto si observa grietas u

Los moldes a medida y los ltros de cera deben
suituirse según sea necesario por un especialia
en audición.

el uso del audífono, interrumpa inmediatamente

El especialia en audición debe recomendar
al usuario potencial del dispositivo que consulte
con un médico antes de utilizarlo, en caso de que

XIntervalo aéreo-óseo de audiometría igual
o superior a 15 dB a 500 Hz, 1000 Hz y 2000 Hz.
XEvidencia visible de acumulación signicativa
de cerumen o de presencia de un cuerpo
extraño en el canal auditivo.
XDolor o moleias en el oído.
