► Unplug after using.
► Household use only.
Never use the appliance near water, and keep it away from
sinks, baths and other similar containers. The proximity of water
is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off. Always
disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet after use.
► Connect the hairdryer only to a correctly installed electrical outlet
providing electrical current at the level detailed on the rating plate.
► Under no circumstances may the hairdryer be submerged in
liquids, or liquids be permitted to enter the appliance housing.
Do not expose the appliance to humidity or use it outdoors.
If any liquid gets into the housing, unplug the appliance
immediately and have it repaired by a qualified technician.
► Unplug the hairdryer from the power socket if defective operation
is apparent and before cleaning it.
► To disconnect the appliance, pull only on the plug itself, not on
the power cable.
► Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance and protect
the cable from being damaged.

only when you unplug it.
► You must not open or repair the housing of the hairdryer.
This is unsafe and invalidates the warranty.
► Children must not play with the appliance.
► NEVER put the hairdryer down or leave it unsupervised when it
is switched on.
► Never place the hairdryer close to sources of heat and protect
the power cable against potential damage.
► Do not cover the air intake grille while operating the appliance.
Clean it at regular intervals.
► The hairdryer becomes hot when it is in use. Hold it only by the
grip when it is hot.
This product contains chemicals known to the
State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other
reproductive harm.

Important Cord Information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of elec-
tric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
► A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord)
should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
► Longer detachable power-supply cords or extensions cords are
available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
► If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally; and
3) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the cord set or extension

Intended use
This hair dryer is intended only for the drying and shaping of
human hair, under no circumstances is it to be used for wigs and
hairpieces made of synthetic material. This hair dryer is intended for
domestic use only. Pay heed to all of the information in this operat-
ing manual, especially the safety instructions. This appliance is not
designed for use in commercial or industrial applications.
This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses
beyond those mentioned herein. Claims of any kind for damage
resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator
alone bears liability.

Unpacking
1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instruc-
tions from the carton.
2) Remove all packaging material.
3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section
“Cleaning”.
Check the package for completeness and signs of visible
damage.
If any items are missing or damaged as a result of defective
packaging or transportation, contact the service department
hotline (see chapter “Warranty”).

Operating Instructions
Connect to power source
This appliance is fitted with a safety connector q, which con-
tains a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). If the appliance
malfunctions (by coming into contact with water, for example),
the GFCI changes to “off” and the hairdryer will no longer have
power.
If the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter in the
safety connector q is no longer functioning, discontinue use.
Unplug the safety connector q and contact the Customer Service
department.
We recommend testing the safety connector q before each use
to make sure it is functioning perfectly:
1) Plug the safety connector q into an electrical outlet. Ensure
that the power being supplied from the electrical outlet
matches the voltage specified on the label.
2) Now press the “Test” button 0. The “Reset” button 9 will
spring out a little more from the q safety connector.
Now the hairdryer cannot be turned on again. The Ground
Fault Circuit Interrupter is working.
3) Press the “Reset” button 9 so that it snaps into place.
You can now use the hairdryer.
Heat and blower levels
1) Insert the plug into a power socket.
2) Switch the hair dryer on with the blower level switch 5.
The hair dryer is fitted with two function switches. With these you
can separately select the strength of the air flow (blower level
switch 5) and the level of heat (heat level switch 6):

3) After use, switch the appliance off in that you place the blower
level switch 5 into position “OFF”. Then remove the plug from
the wall socket.
Cooling level
With the cooling level button 7 d you can produce a cooler air
flow with any combination of blower and heat levels (except level
“OFF”). If you wish to create a cold air stream, press and hold the
cooling level button 7 d. When you no longer need the cold air
stream, release the cooling level button 7 d.
Ionisation function
With the Ionic switch-in 4 you can additionally add the ionic func-
tion to every combination of blower and heat level.
■ Set the ionic switch-in 4 to the “ “ position: The ionisa-
tion function is turned on.
■ Set the ionic switch-in 4 to the “ “ position: The ionisa-
tion function is turned off.

When drying the hair using a hair dryer, the hair takes on a static
charge and begins to “fly”.
The ionisation function ensures that this charging of the hair is
neutralised and cancelled. The hair becomes soft, supple, shiny
and easier to style. Please note, however, that the ionisation func-
tion will only work optimally if the attachments (finger diffuser 8/
styling jet 1) are removed as the attachment will interfere with
the application of the ions to the hair. Therefore, use the hairdryer
without attachments for maximum ionisation effect.
Drying and styling hair
■ To quickly dry hair, we recommend first of all using a high
blower and heater setting for a short period. Also, place the
Ionic switch-in 4 at the position
“”. After drying the hair, switch to a lower blower and
heat level to shape the hairstyle.
■ With the supplied styling jet 1 you can apply a directed air-
flow to shape and style your hair. Start by removing the finger
diffuser 8 first with a downwards snapping motion. Fit the styl-
ing jet 1 by pushing it with light pressure onto the hair dryer
so that it snaps into place and sits evenly on the hair dryer.
If you no longer require the styling jet 1, wait until the ap-
pliance has cooled down and pull it off with a downwards
snapping motion:

■ If you wish to dry your hair especially gently, or create a so-
called “air-dried wave”, then use the finger diffusor 8. Start by
removing the styling jet 1 with a downwards snapping motion.
Fit the finger diffusor 8 by pushing it with light pressure onto
the hair dryer so that it snaps into place and sits evenly on
the hair dryer.If you no longer require the finger diffusor 8,
wait until the appliance has cooled down and pull it off with a
downwards snapping motion:
■ Before you comb your hair out, allow it to cool so that the shap-
ing and styling can retain its form.
■ You can use the cooling level button 7 d to cool down your
hair down.

Cleaning
Always remove the safety connector q from
the electrical outlet before cleaning the appliance.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you
immerse the appliance in water or other liquids during cleaning!
After being cleaned, the hairdryer must be
completely dry before using it again.
Allow the appliance to cool sufficiently before
cleaning it.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning liquids or
solvents. They could damage the surface.
Cleaning the housing
■ Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild soap solution to
clean the housing and attachments.
Cleaning the air suction grill
Risk of fire! Clean the air intake grille 2 at
regular intervals with a soft brush.
1) Turn the air intake grill 2 a little way anticlockwise so that it
can be removed from the hair dryer.
2) Clean the openings of the air intake grill 2 with a soft brush.
3) Push the air intake grille 2 back onto the hairdryer so that the
tabs on the air intake grille 2 click back onto the recesses on
the hairdryer. Turn the air intake grille 2 clockwise a little way
so that it clicks into place and sits tightly.

Storage
Do not package or transport the hairdryer
until it has cooled down. Otherwise, it could damage other items.
■ Clean the hair dryer as described in the section "Cleaning".
■ For storage purposes, you can hang the hairdryer up by the
suspensionloop 3.
■ Store the hair dryer at a dustfree and dry location.
Troubleshooting
Should your hair dryer not function as expected, first remove the
plug from the mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool
down for a few minutes. The appliance is fitted with an overheat-
ing protector!
Should the appliance still not function, consult the service depart-
ment detailed under "Service".

Disposal
Electrical devices may not be thrown away as part of normal
household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical device,
dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable in
your state. This will allow you to ensure that old electrical devices
are recycled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.
Further information about disposal is available on the Internet at
www.epa.gov.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during
transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their
environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore
recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw mate-
rials and reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose
of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance
with applicable local regulations.
If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty pe-
riod so that the appliance can be properly packed for returning
in the event of a warranty claim.

Warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
■ Damage, breakage, or inoperability due to defect.
■ Damage not accounted by normal wear and tear or following
the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user
manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
■ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
■ Improper use or transport;
■ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
■ Accidents or acts of nature (eg., lightening, fire, water, etc.).
■ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrew-
ing screws etc.)
What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?
The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase. At our dis-
cretion, product will either be refunded or replaced.
What will we not do?
We will not:

Información importante sobre el cable
Este equipo tiene una clavija polarizada. Para reducir el riesgo
de descargas eléctricas, esta clavija se introduce en un contacto
polarizado solo de una manera. Si la clavija no se introduce en

Desempaque
1) Retire todas las partes del equipo y el instructivo de operación
de la caja de cartón.
2) Retire todo el material de embalaje.
3) Limpie todas las partes del equipo como se describe en la
sección "Limpieza".
Verifique que el paquete esté completo y no muestre signos
visibles de daño.
Si hay partes faltantes o dañadas debido a empaque o transporte

Instructivo de operación
Conexión a la fuente de alimentación
Este equipo está equipado con un conector de seguridad q, el
cual contiene un interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra (GFCI).
Si el equipo funciona mal (al entrar en contacto con agua, por
ejemplo) el GFCI cambia a la posición apagado y la secadora
de cabello deja de tener energía.
Si el interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra
en el conector de seguridad q deja de funcionar, descontinúe
el uso. Desenchufe el conector de seguridad q y póngase en
contacto con el departamento de Servicio al cliente.
Recomendamos probar el conector de seguridad q antes de
cada uso para asegurarse de que funcione perfectamente:
1) Enchufe el conector de seguridad q en una toma de corriente.
Asegúrese de que la corriente de la toma eléctrica coincida
con el voltaje especificado en la etiqueta.
2) Ahora presione el botón “Test” ("Probar") 0. El botón “Reset”
("Restablecer") 9 sobresaldrá un poco más del conector de
seguridad q.
La secadora de cabello puede volver a encenderse ahora.
El interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra está funcionando.
3) Presione el botón “Reset” (“Restablecer”) 9 para que se
inserte en su lugar.
Ahora puede usar la secadora de cabello.
Niveles de calentamiento y del ventilador
1) Inserte la clavija en una toma de corriente.
2) Encienda la secadora de cabello con el interruptor de nivel
del ventilador 5.

La secadora de cabello tiene dos interruptores de función. Con
estos, puede seleccionar en forma separada la intensidad del
flujo del aire (interruptor de nivel del ventilador 5) y el nivel de
calor (interruptor de nivel de calor 6):

3) Después de usarlo, apague el equipo y coloque el interruptor
de nivel del ventilador 5 en la posición de apagado (OFF).
Después desconecte la clavija de la toma de corriente de la
pared.
Nivel de enfriamiento
Con el botón de enfriamiento 7 d puede producir un flujo de aire
más frío con cualquier combinación de niveles de ventilador y calor
(excepto cuando el nivel está apagado, "OFF"). Si desea crear una
corriente de aire frío, presione y mantenga así el botón de nivel de
enfriamiento 7 d. Cuando ya no necesite la corriente de aire frío,
suelte el botón de nivel de enfriamiento 7 d.

Función de ionización
Con el interruptor iónico 4, puede agregar la función de ioniza-
ción a cualquier combinación de niveles de ventilador y calor.
■ Ajuste el interruptor iónico 4 en la posición " ":

La función de ionización se apaga.
Cuando se seca el cabello con la secadora, el cabello adquiere
una carga estática y comienza a "volar".
La función de ionización asegura que esta carga del cabello se
neutralice y se cancele. El cabello se torna suave, flexible, bri-
llante y fácil de peinar. Observe, sin embargo, que la función de
ionización solo funciona en forma óptima si se quitan los acceso-
rios (difusor 8/boquilla para peinado 1), ya que los accesorios
interfieren con la aplicación de iones al cabello. Por lo tanto, use
la secadora de cabello sin accesorios para obtener el máximo
efecto de ionización.
Secado y peinado del cabello
■ Para secar el cabello rápidamente, recomendamos primero
usar la opción de ventilador y calor alta durante un periodo
breve. Además, ajuste el interruptor iónico 4 en la posición
"". Después de secar el cabello, cambie a un nivel
más bajo de ventilador y calor para dar forma al peinado.
■ Con la boquilla para peinado incluido 1, puede aplicar flujo
de aire dirigido para dar forma y estilo a su cabello. Comien-
ce por retirar el difusor 8 primero con un movimiento rápido
hacia abajo. Coloque la boquilla para peinado 1 al empujar-
la con ligera presión sobre la secadora de cabello de modo
que se inserte en su lugar y se apoye de manera uniforme
sobre la secadora de cabello.

Si ya no necesita la boquilla para peinado 1, espere hasta
que el equipo se haya enfriado y retírela con un movimiento
rápido hacia abajo:
■ Si desea secar su cabello suavemente, o crear una llamada
"onda secada con aire", use el difusor 8. Comience por quitar
la boquilla para peinado 1 con un movimiento rápido hacia
abajo.
Coloque el difusor 8 al empujarlo con ligera presión sobre
la secadora de cabello de modo que se inserte en su lugar y
se apoye de manera uniforme sobre la secadora de cabello.
Si ya no necesita el difusor 8, espere hasta que el equipo se
haya enfriado y retírelo con un movimiento firme hacia abajo:
■ Antes de peinar su cabello, espere que se enfríe para que la
forma y estilizado retengan su aspecto.
■ Puede usar el botón de nivel de enfriamiento 7 d para
enfriar el cabello.

Limpieza de la rejilla de entrada de aire
¡Riesgo de incendio! Limpie la rejilla de
entrada de aire 2 a intervalos regulares con un cepillo suave.
1) Gire la rejilla de entrada de aire 2 un poco en sentido contra-
rio a las agujas del reloj para poder quitarla de la secadora
de cabello.
2) Limpie las aberturas de la rejilla de entrada de aire 2 con un
cepillo suave.
3) Empuje la rejilla de entrada de aire 2 nuevamente sobre la
secadora de aire de modo que las pestañas de la rejilla 2
hagan clic y se inserten en las ranuras de la secadora de ca-
bello. Gire la rejilla de entrada de aire 2 un poco en sentido
de las agujas del reloj de modo que haga clic para insertarse
en su lugar y se asiente firmemente.
Almacenamiento
No empaquete ni transporte la secadora de cabello
hasta que se haya enfriado. De lo contrario, puede dañar otros
artículos.
■ Limpie la secadora de aire como se describe en la sección
"Limpieza".
■ Para guardarla, puede colgar la secadora de cabello con el
asa 3.
■ Guarde la secadora de cabello en un lugar sin polvo y seco.

Solución de problemas
Si la secadora de cabello no funciona como se espera, primero
desconecte la clavija de la toma de corriente y permita que el
equipo se enfríe durante varios minutos. ¡El equipo está equipado
con un protector de sobrecalentamiento!
Si el equipo aún no funciona, consulte la sección de servicio
detallada en "Servicio".
Eliminación
Los dispositivos eléctricos no deben ser desechados como parte
de la basura doméstica normal. Si ya no puede usar su dispo-
sitivo eléctrico, elimínelo de conformidad con las disposiciones
