Remove seat (B) from tank pin (C), by pulling it backwards and upwards at the same time. Loosen threaded pin (K3) and move oil cooler (K) towards bike front end. Sfilare dalla carrucola (N1) il cavo di comando (P1). Svitare il dado (P2). Liberare il cavo di comando (P1) dal piastrino (N2). Svitare le n.2 viti (P3) e rimuovere il motorino valvola di scarico (P). Scollegare la presa motorino valvola di scarico (P4) dalla spina ramo cablaggio principale (Q). Rotate pulley (N1) of exhaust valve in order to help control cable (P1) disengagement. Slide control cable (P1) out of pulley (N1). Loosen nut (P2). Release control cable (P1) from plate (N2). Unscrew the no.2 screws (P3) and remove exhaust valve motor (P). Disconnect exhaust valve motor connector (P4) from main wiring harness counterpart (Q). Working on the left side of the motorcycle, remove spring (N3) connecting collector box unit (N) and horizontal exhaust pipe (S), using a standard spring puller. Loosen no.3 nuts (S1) and slide out horizontal exhaust pipe from stud bolts. Importante Caution Supportare adeguatamente il collettore di scarico orizzontale (S) per evitare di danneggiare il cavo della sonda lambda. Adequately support horizontal exhaust manifold (S) to avoid damaging the lambda sensor cable. Svitare e recupere la vite (N4) e rimuovere il distanziale (N5). Loosen and keep screw (N4) and remove spacer (N5). Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, rimuovere la molla (N3) di collegamento tra il gruppo compensatore (N) e il collettore di scarico verticale (T), utilizzando un tiramolle commerciale. Working on the right side of the motorcycle, remove spring (N3) connecting collector box unit (N) and vertical exhaust pipe (T), using a standard spring puller. Loosen screw (N6) and remove collector box (N) by sliding it down. Remove clip (N7) from collector box unit (N) and keep it. Montaggio staffa Installing the bracket Importante Caution Verificare che il gommino antivibrante (U1) sia montato sul supporto compensatore (U). Ensure that vibration damper (U1) is installed to the collector box support (U). Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, posizionare la staffa (3) sulla parte interna del supporto compensatore (U), orientandola come mostrato in figura, e impuntare la vite (N6). Working on the right side of the motorcycle, fit bracket (3) on the inside of collector box support (U), aiming it as shown in the figure, then start screw (N6). 14 ISTR 742 / 00 2 6 6 1 N7 1 7 Premontaggio gruppo scarico Racing Pre-assembly of Racing exhaust system Montare la clip originale (N7) e le n. 3 clip (6) sul silenziatore (1). Install the original clip (N7) and the no.3 clips (6) onto silencer (1). Montare il collettore verticale (2), portandolo in battuta sul silenziatore (1), orientandolo in modo verticale, come mostrato in figura. Montare la molla (7) di collegamento tra il collettore (2) e il silenziatore (1), utilizzando un tiramolle commerciale. Install the vertical pipe (2), setting it fully home against silencer (1), aimed in vertical, as shown in the figure. Install spring (7) connecting pipe (2) and silencer (1), using a standard spring puller. Montare la molla (7) di collegamento tra il gruppo silenziatore (1) e il collettore di scarico orizzontale (S), utilizzando un tiramolle commerciale. Install the exhaust system (1) to the motorcycle, fitting silencer pipe (1A) fully home against horizontal pipe (S). Install spring (7) connecting silencer unit (1) and horizontal exhaust pipe (S), using a standard spring puller. Inserire sino a battuta il collettore silenziatore (1B) sul collettore di scarico verticale (T). Impuntare la vite (8) di fissaggio gruppo silenziatore alla staffa (3). Install spring (7) connecting silencer unit (1) and vertical exhaust pipe (T), using a standard spring puller. 17 10 Nm ± 10% S1 N5 S N4 10 Nm ± 10% N8 25 Nm ± 10% N6 18 Nm ± 10% 8 18 ISTR 742 / 00 Operando sul lato sinistro del motoveicolo, inserire il distanziale (N5) sul gommino antivibrante (N8) e impuntare la vite (N4). Montare il collettore di scarico orizzontale (S) sui prigionieri e avvitare i n.3 dadi (S1). Serrare i n.3 dadi alla coppia indicata. Serrare la vite (N4) alla coppia indicata. Working on the left side of the motorcycle, fit spacer (N5) onto vibration damper (N8) and start screw (N4). Fit horizontal exhaust pipe (S) onto stud bolts and tighten the no.3 nuts (S1). Tighten no.3 nuts to the specified torque. Tighten screw (N4) to the specified torque. Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, serrare la vite (N6) e la vite (8) alla coppia indicata. Working on the right side of the motorcycle, tighten screw (N6) and screw (8) to the specified torque. ISTR 742 / 00 19 5 5 Nm ± 10% 4 1 5 5 Nm ± 10% Montaggio paracalore silenziatore Silencer heat guard assembly Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, posizionare il paracalore (4) sul gruppo silenziatore (1) e impuntare le n.3 viti (5). Serrare le n.3 viti (5) alla coppia indicata. Working on the right side of the motorcycle, fit the heat guard (4) on the silencer unit (1) and start the no.3 screws (5). Tighten no.3 screws (5) to the specified torque. 20 ISTR 742 / 00 V 6 Nm ± 10% K1 5 Nm ± 10% J1 K3 K2 K4 K 6 Nm ± 10% J V Rimontaggio radiatore olio Refitting the oil cooler Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, riposizionare il radiatore olio (K) sul supporto radiatori (V) e impuntare il perno filettato (K3). Serrare il perno filettato (K3) alla coppia indicata. Collegare il connettore sensore pressione olio (K2) al pressostato radiatore (K4). Working on the right side of the motorcycle, refit the oil cooler (K) to radiator support (V) and start the threaded pin (K3). Tighten threaded pin (K3) to the specified torque. Connect oil pressure sensor connector (K2) to radiator pressure switch (K4). Operando sul lato sinistro del motoveicolo, posizionare la cover (J) sul supporto radiatori (V) e impuntare le n.2 viti (J1). Serrare le n.2 viti (J1) alla coppia indicata. Impuntare la vite (K1) e serrarla alla coppia indicata. Working on the left side of the motorcycle, fit the cover (J) on radiator support (V) and start no.2 screws (J1). Tighten the no.2 screws (J1) to the specified torque. Start screw (K1), and tighten it to the specified torque. ISTR 742 / 00 21 L2 7 Nm ± 10% L1 L3 L4 L4 18 Nm ± 10% H H2 H1 0,7 Nm ± 10% L L3 5 Nm ± 10% Rimontaggio supporto componenti elettrici Refitting the electrical component support Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, riposizionare il supporto componenti elettrici (L) sul motoveicolo, verificando che i cablaggi non risultino schiacciati e prestando attenzione a non danneggiarli. Impuntare la vite (L3), la vite (L4). Serrare la vite (L3), la vite (L4) alla coppia indicata. Impuntare la vite (L1) inserendo la rondella (L2) e serrarla alla coppia indicata. Riposizionare la staffa (H1) sul supporto componenti elettrici (L), orientandola come mostrato in figura e impuntare la vite (H2). Serrare la vite (H2) alla coppia indicata. Inserire la scatola fusibili (H) sulla staffa (H1). Working on the right side of the motorcycle, refit electrical component support (L) to the motorcycle, making sure that wiring harness is not squeezed and avoiding any damage. Start screw (L3) and screw (L4). Tighten screw (L3) and screw (L4) to the specified torque. Start screw (L1) with washer (L2), and tighten it to the specified torque. Refit bracket (H1) to the electrical component support (L), aiming it as shown in the figure and start screw (H2). Tighten screw (H2) to the specified torque. Fit the fuse box (H) to bracket (H1). 22 ISTR 742 / 00 L E2 4 Nm ± 10% E Rimontaggio puntale anteriore Refitting the front lug Riposizionare il puntale centrale (E) sul supporto componenti elettrici (L) e impuntare le n.2 viti (E2). Serrare le n.2 viti (E2) alla coppia indicata. Refit central lug (E) onto electrical component support (L) and start the no.2 screws (E2). Tighten the no.2 screws (E2) to the specified torque. Serrare la vite (G1) e la vite (E1) alla coppia indicata. Working on the left side of the motorcycle, refit the LH lug (G) onto the electrical component support (L), start screw (G1) and screw (E1). Tighten screw (G1) and screw (E1) to the specified torque. Rimontaggio puntale destro Refitting the RH side lug Operando sul lato destro del motoveicolo, riposizionare il puntale destro (F) sul supporto componenti elettrici (L), impuntare la vite (F3) e la vite (E1). Introdurre la boccola (F2) sul puntale destro (F) e successivamente il rivetto (F1), come mostrato in figura. Serrare la vite (F3) e la vite (E1) alla coppia indicata. Working on the right side of the motorcycle, refit the RH lug (F) onto the electrical component support (L), start screw (F3) and screw (E1). Fit bushing (F2) to RH side lug (F) and then fit rivet (F1), as shown in the figure. Tighten screw (F3) and screw (E1) to the specified torque. ISTR 742 / 00 25 D D1 D1 4 Nm ± 10% D1 D1 D 4 Nm ± 10% D1 D1 Rimontaggio puntale inferiore Refitting the lower lug Operando sul lato inferiore del motoveicolo, riposizionare il puntale inferiore (D) sul supporto componenti elettrici (L) e impuntare le n.6 viti (D1). Serrare le n.6 viti (D1) alla coppia indicata. Working on the bottom side of the motorcycle, refit the lower lug (D) onto the electrical component support (L), and start no.6 screws (D1). Tighten the no.6 screws (D1) to the specified torque. 26 ISTR 742 / 00 1 1D 1C Note Notes È possibile rimuovere il riduttore fonico, in base alle regole vigenti, nelle strutture adibite a pista. According to regulations currently in force, it is possible to remove the dB killer in facilities used as race tracks. Svitare la vite (1C) e sfilare con un gancio appropriato il riduttore fonico (1D) dal silenziatore (1). Loosen screw (1C) and remove dB killer (1D) from silencer (1) using a suitable hook. Ripetere la stessa operazione sull'altro lato del gruppo silenziatore (1). Repeat the same operation on the other side of silencer unit (1). ISTR 742 / 00 27 Z 9 W W Y Calibrazione centralina controllo motore Note Il kit silenziatori Racing viene fornito con MAP-KEY che consente il download della calibrazione centralina controllo motore “Performance”. Operando nel vano sotto sella conducente, sfilare la spina (W) dal supporto in gomma (Y). Scollegare dalla spina (W) il coperchio connettore (Z). Collegare alla spina (W) l'abilitatore centralina racing (map-key) (9). Engine control unit calibration Notes The Racing silencer kit is supplied with MAP-KEY, which enables engine control unit "Performance" calibration download. Working in the rider underseat compartment, take connector (W) out of its rubber mount (Y). Disconnect connector cover (Z) from plug (W). Connect Racing control unit enabler (mapkey) (9) to plug (W). Caution Importante To download, contact a Ducati Authorised Service Centre. Calibration loading procedures are illustrated in Technical Bulletin SAT 895. Importante It is absolutely forbidden to clean the MAP-KEY device with strong detergents or solvents that would damage it irreparably. Riposizionare la spina (W) sul supporto in gomma (Y). 28 Y Caution At the end of control unit calibration, disconnect Racing control unit enabler (map-key) (9) and fit connector cover (Z) on plug (W). Reposition connector (W) onto its rubber mount (Y). ISTR 742 / 00 B B C B1 Rimontaggio sella conducente Rider seat reassembly Posizionare la sella conducente (B), introducendo il perno del serbatoio (C) nell’asola (B1) della sella. Traslare verso l’anteriore del motoveicolo la sella (B) sino a fine corsa. Premere l’estremità posteriore della sella (B) fino ad udire lo scatto del chiavistello della serratura. Accertarsi dell’avvenuto e corretto aggancio, tirando con moderazione verso l’alto la sella conducente. Sfilare la chiave dalla serratura. Position rider seat (B) fitting tank pin (C) in slot (B1) of the seat. Move seat (B) towards the front side of the motorcycle until it stops. Press seat (B) rear end until locking latch snaps. Make sure that the rider seat is properly secured by gently pulling it upwards. Remove key from the lock. Introducir los tornillos (L3) y (L4). Ajustar los tornillos (L3) y (L4) al par de apriete recomendado. Introducir el tornillo (L1) introduciendo la arandela (L2) y ajustarlo al par de apriete indicado. Volver a posicionar el sostén (H1) en el soporte componentes eléctricos (L), orientándolo como ilustra la figura, e introducir el tornillo (H2). Ajustar el tornillo (H2) al par de apriete indicado. Operando en el compartimiento debajo del asiento piloto, extraer la clavija (W) de su soporte de goma (Y). Desconectar la tapa conector (Z) de la clavija (W). Conectar el habilitador central racing (mapkey) (9) a la clavija (W). Importante Para realizar la descarga es necesario dirigirse a un Taller Autorizado Ducati. Las modalidades de carga de la calibración se indican en la circular técnica SAT 895. Desplazar el asiento (B) hacia la parte delantera de la motocicleta, hasta el final de carrera. Presionar el extremo trasero del asiento (B) hasta escuchar el clic del pestillo de la cerradura. Asegurarse de que se haya enganchado correctamente, tirando con moderación hacia arriba el asiento piloto.
