location or place where it may come in

Deteriorated insulation on electrical parts may

heaters, or other appliances.
• Do not plug several appliances into the same
multiple power strip.
The refrigerator should always be plugged into
its own individual electrical outlet which has a
voltage rating that matches the voltage listed
on the refrigerator's rating plate.
This provides the best performance and
also prevents overloading of house wiring
circuits, which could cause a fire hazard from
overheated wires.
• Ifthe wall socket is loose, do not insert the
power plug.
There is a risk of electric shock of fire.
• Do not use a power cord that has cracks or

INSTALLATION CAUTIONS
• Allow sufficient space around the
refrigerator and install it on a flat
surface.
Ifyour refrigerator is not level, the internal
cooling system may not work correctly.
Keep the ventilation space in the appliance
enclosure or mounting structure clear of
obstructions.
• Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hours after
installation.
• We strongly recommend you have a qualified
technician or service company install the
refrigerator.
Failing to do so may result in an electric shock,
fire, explosion, problems with the product, or
injury.
When installing the refrigerator, make sure both
legs contact the floor for secure installation.
Legs are located at the bottom back of each
door.
Insert a flathead screwdriver and turn it in the
direction of the arrow until it is level.
Always balance the load on each door.
Overload on any one door may fell the
refrigerator, causing physical injury.

USAGE CAUTIONS
• Do not re-freeze frozen foods that have
thawed completely.
Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks
in the freezer compartment.
Do not put bottles or glass containers
in the freezer.
When the contents freeze, the glass may break
and cause personal injury.
• Use only the ice maker provided with the
refrigerator.
• Have the refrigerator's water supply installed by
a suitably qualified person and connected only
to a potable water supply.
To operate the ice maker properly, water
pressure of 20 - 125 psi (138 - 862 kPa) is
required.
Ifyou will be away from home for a long period
of time (on vacation, for example) and won't
be using the water or ice dispensers, close the
water valve.
Otherwise, water leakage may occur.
• Ifyou won't be using the refrigerator for a very
long period of time, (3 weeks or more) empty
the refrigerator, unplug it, close the water valve,
wipe excess moisture from the inside walls,
and leave the doors open to prevent odors and
mold.
• Service Warranty and Modification.
• Any changes or modifications
performed by a 3rd party on this
finished appliance are not covered
under Samsung warranty service, nor is
Samsung responsible for safety issues
that result from 3rd party modifications.
• Do not block the air vents inside the refrigerator.
Ifthe air vents are blocked, especially with a
plastic bag, the refrigerator can be over cooled.
Ifthis cooling period lasts too long, the water
filter may break and cause water leakage.
• Ifthe refrigerator is disconnected from the
power supply, you should wait for at least five
minutes before plugging it back in.
• Ifyou have a long vacation planned or do not
intend to use the refrigerator for a long period of
time, (3 weeks or more) empty the refrigerator,
pull out the power plug, close the water valve,
wipe excess moisture from the inside walls,
and leave the doors open to prevent odors and
mold.
Letting the refrigerator run long periods of time
without using it can cause the insulation to
deteriorate and may cause a fire.
• To get the best performance from the product:
Do not place food too close to the vents at the
rear of the appliance as it can obstruct free air
circulation in the refrigerator compartment.
Wrap food up properly or place it in airtight
containers before putting it into the refrigerator.
Do not place glass bottles or carbonated
beverages into the freezer.
They can freeze and break.
Broken beverage containers can cause injury.
Please observe maximum storage times and
expiration dates of frozen goods.
There is no need to disconnect the refrigerator
from the power supply if you will be away for
less than three weeks.
However, if you will be away for more than
three weeks, remove all the food, unplug the
refrigerator, close the water valve, wipe excess
moisture from the inside walls, and leave the
doors open to prevent odors and mold.
• Fillthe water tank and ice cube trays with
potable water only (tap water, mineral water, or
purified water).
Do not fill the tank with tea or a Sports drink.
This may damage the refrigerator.
• Do not strike or apply excessive force to any
glass surface.
Broken glass may result in a personal injury
and/or property damage.
• If the product is flooded, make sure to
contact your nearest service center.

I'_ ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR
PROPER USAGE
• Inthe event of a power failure, call the local
office of your Electricity Company and ask how
long it is going to last.
Most power failures that are corrected in an
hour or two will not affect your refrigerator
temperatures. However, you should minimize
the number of door openings while the power
is off.
Should the power failure last more than 24
hours, remove and discard all frozen food.
• If a key is provided with refrigerator, the keys
should be kept out of the reach of children and
not be kept in the vicinity of the appliance.
• The appliance might not operate consistently
(frozen contents can thaw or temperatures
can become too warm in the frozen food
compartment) when sited for an extended
period of time in a location where ambient
air temperatures are constantly below the
temperatures for which the appliance is
designed.
• Do not store food which goes bad easily at low
temperature, such as bananas and melons.
,, Your appliance is frost free, which means there
is no need to manually defrost your appliance.
This will be carried out automatically.
• Temperature rise during defrosting complies
with ISO requirements.
But Ifyou want to prevent an undue rise in the
temperature of frozen food while the appliance
defrosts, wrap the frozen food in several layers
of newspaper.
• Any increase inthe temperature of frozen food
during defrosting can shorten its storage life.
• Do not re-freeze frozen foods that have thawed
completely.
Saving Energy Tips
Install the appliance in a cool, dry room with
adequate ventilation.
Ensure that it is not exposed to direct sunlight
and never put it near a direct source of heat (a
radiator, for example).
Never block any vents or grilles on the
appliance.
Allow warm food to cool down before placing it
in the appliance.
Put frozen food in the refrigerator to thaw.
You can then use the low temperatures of the
frozen products to cool food in the refrigerator.
Do not keep the door of the appliance open for
too long when putting food in or taking food
out.
The shorter the time the door is open, the less
frost build-up you'll have in the freezer.
Provide sufficient clearance to the right, left,
back, and top for air circulation when installing
the refrigerator. This will help reduce power
consumption and keep your energy bills lower.

Selecting the best location for the
refrigerator
• Select a location with easy access to a water
supply.
• Select a location without direct exposure to
sunlight.
• Select a location with level (or nearly level)
flooring.
• Select a location with enough space for the
refrigerator doors to open easily.

• Select a location that allows sufficient space to
the right,left, back, and top for air circulation.

• Select a location that allows you to move the
refrigerator easily if it needs maintenance or

When moving your refrigerator
To prevent floor damage, be sure the front levelling
legs are in the up position (above the floor),

Flooring
For proper installation, you must place this
refrigerator on a level, hard surface that is the
same height as the rest of the floor.
This surface should be strong enough to support a
fully loaded refrigerator.
To protect the finish of the flooring, cut a large
section of the cardboard carton and place it under
the refrigerator where you are working.
When moving the refrigerator, you need to pull and
push it straight forwards or back.

REMOVING THE REFRIGERATOR
DOORS
If your entrance won't allow the refrigerator to pass
easily through it, you can remove the doors,
To remove the doors, follow the steps below,
If you do not need to remove the doors, go to
"Leveling the Refrigerator" on page 16,
1. SEPARATE THE WATER SUPPLY LINES
FROM THE FRIDGE
1, Pull the two water lines (which are in the Fixer)
out to the front.

When reconnecting the supply hoses, make sure
the same colored hoses are inserted with each

2. DETACH THE HINGE COVER
1. Disconnect the power cord, and remove 3
cover screws using a Phillips screwdriver ( 1 ).
Then open the refrigerator door and pull the
hooks on the sides to loosen the cover ( 2 ).
Lift up the cover towards you to detach it
(3).
Detach the hinge cover with the door open and
then close the door once the hinge cover has
been detached.

3. DISASSEMBLE THE FREEZER DOORS
1. Remove the hinge cover and then disconnect
the electrical wire connector.
2. Flip the clamp (A up in direction 1 and then
pull it off in direction 2.
3. Remove the hinge ( B ).
4. Lift up the door and detach it from the
refrigerator.

4. DISASSEMBLE THE COLD
COMPARTMENT SHOW CASE DOOR
1, Disassemble the housing connector,
2, Disassemble the three fastening screws on the
top hinge of the show case,
3, Remove the show case
door,
5. DISASSEMBLE THE REFRIGERATOR
DOORS
1, Push the fixer hinge up, and pull it forward to
remove it,
2, Disassemble the top hinge from the front of the
door,
3, Remove the entire door,

Fix the wire on the Hinge Hook to prevent the
damage on the wire when reassembling,

RE-ATTACHING THE DOORS
To re-attach the doors, follow the steps below,
1. RE-ATTACH THE FREEZER DOOR
Z_ CAUTION
+ Be sure to re-attach the Freezer Door before
reattaching the Fridge Door.
+ Before re-attaching, make sure that all the wire
connectors at the bottom of the Freezer Door
are connected.
How to Re-Attach the Freezer Door
1, Attach the doors to the hinges at the bottom of
the refrigerator.
2, Insert the hinge ( B ) into the hinge slot on the
refrigerator, and then press down over the
hinge hole on the door.
Insert the clamp ( A ) in the direction of arrow
( 1 ) and then lower it in the direction of arrow
( 2 ) to lock it in place.

Hook up the electrical wire connector.
Z_ CAUTION
The display may not function properly if you
neglect to connect the electrical wires while
assembling the door.
2. RE-ATTACH THE REFRIGERATOR
DOOR
To re-attach the REFRIGERATOR door, assemble
the parts in reverse order.

3. RE-ATTACH THE COLD
COMPARTMENT SHOW CASE DOOR
To re-attach the COLD COMPARTMENT SHOW
CASE DOOR, assemble the parts in reverse order.
4. RE-ATTACH THE HINGE COVER
1. Open the refrigerator doors.

How to level the refrigerator
Ifthe front of the appliance is slightly higher than
the rear, the door can be opened and closed more
easily.
Setting up the refrigerator on an uneven surface
will cause the refrigerator to lean.
If the freezer side is lower:
Insert a flathead screwdriver into the height
leveler located at the bottom back of the freezer
door and turn it in the direction of the arrow
until it is level.
If the refrigerator side is lower:
Insert a flathead screwdriver into the height
leveler located at the bottom back of the
refrigerator door and turn in the direction of the

Raise the front of the refrigerator so that
the doors close by themselves.
Adjusting the levelers so that the back
of the refrigerator is much higher than
the front of the refrigerator can make it
difficult to open the doors,
Ifthe back of the refrigerator is not level, put an
appropriately sized thin piece of wood or tile
where the refrigerator leg you want to raise will
be set, and then secure it in place using tape.
Slide the refrigerator into its spot, with the back
leg you want to raise on the tile or wood.
Then, adjust the level of the front legs.
When pushing the refrigerator in, be careful not
to damage the floor,
HOW TO ADJUST THE DOOR
HEIGHT
If one door is lower than the other:
• The refrigerator door height can be adjusted
using the adjustment nuts located at the
bottom of each door,
Raising the door too high can cause the door to
interfere with the hinge cover when it is opened

HOW TO ADJUST THE GAP
BETWEEN THE DOORS
If the gap between the refrigerator door and the
freezer door is uneven:
• Use the gap adjustor located at the top of the
refrigerator door (right side).
• Excessive force can cause the adjustor bolt to
break.
1. Remove the refrigerator

Detach the hinge cover with
the door open and then close
the door once the hinge

2. Adjust the gap using a 4 mm Allen wrench (not

3. Rotate the bolt clockwise (_ ) to widen

iNSTALLiNG THE WATER
DISPENSER LiNE
A water dispenser is one of the helpful features on
your new Samsung Refrigerator.
To help promote better health, the Samsung water
filter removes unwanted particles from your water.
However, itdoes not sterilize or destroy
microorganisms.
You may need to purchase a water purifying
system to do that.
The water line also connects to the ice maker.
For the ice maker to operate properly, water
pressure of 20 - 125 psi (138 - 862 kPa) is
required.
If the refrigerator is installed in an area with low
water pressure (below 20 psi), you can install a
booster pump to compensate for the low pressure.
After you have connected the water line, make
sure the water storage tank inside the refrigerator
is properly filled.
To do this, press the water dispenser lever until
water runs from the water dispenser.

Water line installation kits are available at
extra cost from your dealer.
We recommend using a water supply kit
that contains copper tubing.
The Samsung refrigerator warranty does
not cover water line installation.
We strongly recommend you have a
plumber or authorized installer install the
water line.

1. First, shut off the main water supply line and
turn the ice-maker off.
The refrigerator should NOT be plugged in
at this point.
2. Locate the nearest cold water drinking water
line.
3. Install the pipe clamp and shut off valve.

2. Tighten the compression nut ( B ) onto the
compression fitting.
Do not over-tighten the compression nut ( B ).
3. Turn the water on and check for any leaks
inside the refrigerator, around the water filter,
and in any connection areas.
Ifyou find water drops or leaks, turn off the
main water supply.
Ifthe leaks are in the connection areas, check
the connections and, if necessary, tighten.
Ifthere are leaks in the refrigerator, check
the water filter and confirm it is in the locked
position.
Turn on the water supply and check for leaks
again.
4. Plug in the refrigerator.
5. Flush 3 gallons of water through the filter before
drinking or using the water from the refrigerator.
(Flush approximately 6 minutes.)
This will clean the water supply system and
remove air from the lines.
To flush, press the Water button, and then press
a large glass or cup against the water dispenser
lever. Fill the glass, empty it into the kitchen sink
after it is filled, and then repeat.
[_ dditional flushing may be required in
some households.
6. Open the refrigerator door and make sure there
are no water leaks coming from the water filter.
+ fter you turn on the refrigerator, let the
ice maker make ice for 1 to 2 days.
Over that period of time, throw out the
first 1 or 2 buckets of ice the ice maker
makes to ensure all impurities have been
removed from the water line.
+ Only connect the water line to a drinkable water
source.
+ Ifyou have to repair or disassemble the water
line, cut off 1/4" of the plastic tubing to make
sure you get a snug, leak-free connection.
+ You can test the water line quickly using a
paper cup.
Under normal conditions, the water dispenser
can fill a 5.75 oz. (170 cc) cup in about 10
seconds.

COMPLETING THE SET UP
Now that you have your new refrigerator installed
in place, you are ready to set up and enjoy the
features and functions of the appliance.
By completing the following steps, your refrigerator
should be fully operational.
1. Make sure your refrigerator is in an appropriate
location with reasonable clearance between it
and the wall. Refer to installation instructions in
this manual.
2. Once the refrigerator is plugged in, make sure
the interior light comes on when you open the
doors.
3. Set the Temperature control to the coldest
temperature and wait for an hour.
The freezer will get slightly chilled and the motor
will run smoothly.
Reset the refrigerator and freezer to the
temperatures you want.
4. After you plug the refrigerator in, it will
take a few hours to reach the appropriate
temperature.
You can store food and drinks in the refrigerator
after the temperature is sufficiently cool.
5. Once installation is complete, press the
dispenser lever to check if the water or the ice
is properly dispensed.
6. Make sure the front side of the refrigerator is
0.6 degree higher than its rear side.

If condensation or water drops appear
on both sides of the fridge door's central
part, turn the Energy Saver mode off after
removing the condensation.

Dispenser Lever, the Panel Display turns on again.

Cooling Off mode (also called Shop mode),
is designed for use by retailers when they
are displaying refrigerators on the shop
floor.
In Cooling Off mode, the refrigerator's
fan motor and lights work normally, but
the compressors do not run, and the
refrigerator and freezer do not get cold.
To start Cooling Off mode, touch and hold
the Lighting button and the Freezer button
for 5 seconds during normal operation.

To cancel Cooling Off mode, touch and
hold the Lighting and the Freezer buttons

If your refrigerator appears to be working, but

The basic and recommended temperatures of the
Freezer and Fridge compartments are 0 °F and
37 °F (or -18 °C and 3 °C) respectively.

Compartments are too high or low, adjust the
temperature manually,

The temperature control process for the Fridge
works just like the Freezer process,
Press the Fridge button to set your desired
temperature.
After a few seconds, the Fridge will begin adjusting
towards the newly set temperature.
This will be reflected in the digital display,

may rise when you open the doors too
frequently, or if a large amount of warm
or hot food is placed inside.
This may cause the digital display to blink.
Once the Freezer and Fridge temperatures
return to their normal set temperatures, the
blinking will stop.

Try unplugging the appliance, waiting for
around 10 minutes, and then plugging the

• in case ice doesn't come out, pull out the ice
bucket and press the test button located on the
right side of ice maker,
• Do not press the test button continuously when
the tray is filled with ice or water, Water may
overflow or ice may jam the bucket,

hear the refrigerator chime (ding-dong).
When the chime sounds, release the Test
button.
• The chime sounds automatically again to let
you know the ice maker is working well,

To prevent this problem, after a power failure, pull
out the ice bucket and discard the residual ice or

'iCE CUBED' or 'CRUSHED' function ON,
The ice maker will make new ice faster after you
return the ice bucket to the refrigerator,

shelf as you pull it out to remove it.
If you are unable to open the door completely,
pull out the shelf, lift it up, and turn it to remove

The Deodorizer helps remove odors from the
refrigerator.
The deodorizing function may diminish over
time.
However, you can prolong its lifespan, if you
wash and dry the Deodorizer as below.
Wash the Deodorizer with clean water once
every two years or whenever you feel its
performance has diminished.
Dry the deodorizer under the sun for 24 hours
and then replace it in the reverse order of its
removal.
CLEANING THE REFRIGERATOR
A WARNING
Do not use benzene, thinner, Clorox, or car
detergent to clean the refrigerator.
They can damage the surface of the appliance and
may cause a fire.
Do not spray the refrigerator with water while it is
plugged in.

Removing residual matter inside the water
supply line after installing a new filter
1. Press the Water button, and then push the
Dispenser Lever with a cup or glass.
2. Flush 1 gallon of water through the filter, one
cup or glass at a time. (Flush approximately 6
minutes.)
This will clean the water supply system and
remove air from the lines.
Additional flushing may be required in some
households.
3. Open the refrigerator door and make sure there
are no water leaks coming from the water filter.
Reverse Osmosis Water Supply
iMPORTANT:
The pressure of the water supply coming out of a
reverse osmosis system going to the water inlet
valve of the refrigerator needs to be between 35
and 120 psi (241 and 827 kPa).
Ifa reverse osmosis water filtration system is
connected to your cold water supply, the water
pressure to the reverse osmosis system needs to
be a minimum of 40 to 60 psi (276 to 414 kPa.)
Ifthe water pressure to the reverse osmosis
system is less than 40 to 60 psi (276 to 414 kPa):
+ Check to see whether the sediment filter in the
reverse osmosis system is blocked.
Replace the filter if necessary.
+ Allow the storage tank on the reverse osmosis
system to refill after heaW usage.
+ Ifyour refrigerator has a water filter, it may
further reduce the water pressure when used
in conjunction with a reverse osmosis system.

• No vuelva a congelar alimentos que se
hayan descongelado completamente.
No coloque bebidas carbonatadas o
con gas en el congelador.
No coloque botellas ni recipientes de
vidrio en el congelador.
Cuando el contenido se congela, el vidrio
puede romperse y provocar lesiones
personales.
• Utilice solamente la fabrica de hielo del
refrigerador.
• Contrate a un tecnico calificado para que
conecte el suministro de agua solamente al
suministro de agua potable.
A fin de que la fabrica de hielo funcione

* En caso de un corte de energfa, comunfquese
con su compahfa de electricidad local y
pregunte cuanto tiempo durara el corte.
La mayorfa de los cortes de energfa que

dos horas, no afectan las temperaturas del

puede abrirse y cerrarse con mayor facilidad.
Si instala el refrigerador sobre un superficie que no
este nivelada, el refrigerador tendera a ladearse.
Si el lado del congelador esta mas bajo:
Con un desarmador de punta chata gire el
nivelador de altura situado en la parte inferior
posterior de la puerta del congelador en la
direcciOn de la flecha hasta nivelar el aparato.
Si el lado del refdgerador esta mas bajo:
Con un desarmador de punta chata gire el
nivelador de la altura situado en la parte inferior
posterior de la puerta del refrigerador en la
direcciOn de la flecha hasta nivelar el aparato.

hasta que las puertas se cierren por sf

Si ajusta los niveladores de manera que
la parte posterior del refrigerador est_
mucho alta que la frontal, le costara a
abrir las puertas.

nivelada, ponga una tabla de madera o una
baldosa del tama_o adecuado en el lugar
donde colocara la pata que desea levantar y
ffjela en el suelo con cinta adhesiva.
Deslice el refrigerador hasta su lugar, con la
pata posterior que desee levantar sobre la
baldosa o la madera.
Luego nivele las patas delanteras.
+ Cuando mueva el refrigerador tenga cuidado
de no da_ar el piso.
COMO AJUSTAR LA ALTURA DE
LAS PUERTAS
Si una puerta est_ m&s baja que la otra:
+ La diferencia de altura entre las puertas se
puede equilibrar con las tuercas de ajuste
situadas en la parte inferior de cada puerta.
+ Si se levanta demasiado la puerta, puede
interferir con la cubierta de la bisagra al
cerrarse o abrirse.
1. Abra la puerta que necesita ajuste y afloje la
tuerca de fijaciOn ( A ) de la pare inferior de la
puerta girandola en el sentido de las agujas del
reloj ( _ ) con la Ilave provista en el empaque
del producto. (Primero levante la parte m_s
baja de las dos puertas.)
2. Ajuste la altura de la puerta girando la tuerca
de ajuste ( B ) en el sentido contrario al de las
agujas del reloj ( _ ) con una Ilave.
(Gire en el sentido contrario al de las agujas
del reloj ( _ ) para levantar la puerta yen
el sentido de las agujas del reloj ( _ ) para
bajarla.)
Abra la puerta y ajOstela por la parte interior.
3. Cuando las dos puertas est_n a la misma
altura, gire la tuerca de ajuste ( A ) en el sentido
contrario al de las agujas del reloj ( _ ) para
apretarla.
[_ i nivela el refrigerador vado, puede
ocurrir que al Ilenarlo se desnivele
nuevamente.
Si ocurre esto, vuelva a nivelarlo.

COMO AJUSTAR LA HOLGURA
DE LAS PUERTAS
Si la holgura entre la puerta del refrigerador y la del
congelador no es uniforme:
• Use el adaptador de holgura situado en la pare
superior de la puerta del refrigerador (lado
derecho).
• No aplique una fuerza excesiva ya que podrfa
romper el adaptador.
1. Retire la cubierta de la
bisagra de la puerta del

2. Ajuste la holgura con una Ilave Allen de 4 mm
(no incluida).

reloj (_ ) para estrechar la holgura.
Ajuste hasta que la holgura entre la puerta del
refrigerador y la puerta del congelador sea la
misma.

da_ar o pelar el recubrimiento.
COMO AJUSTAR LA HOLGURA
ENTRE LA PUERTA Y EL CUERPO
DEL REFRIGERADOR
Si el espacio entre la puerta del refrigerador y el
refrigerador no es uniforme:
• Use los adaptadores de espacio situados en el
borde superior interno de cada puerta.
1. Abra la puerta con una menor holgura con el
refrigerador y gire el adaptador en el sentido
contrario al de las agujas del reloj ( ,_ ) hasta
que la holgura sea la mlsma en ambas puertas.
Una vez ajustado el espacio entre la puerta y
el refrigerador, gire la tuerca del adaptador en
el sentido de las agujas del reloj ( _ ) para
bloquear el adaptador en su lugar.

INSTALACION DE LA TUBER[A
DEL DESPACHADOR DE AGUA
El despachador de agua es una de las funciones
utiles de su nuevo refrigerador Samsung.
Con el fin de promover la buena salud, el filtro de
agua Samsung elimina las partfculas no deseadas
del agua.
No obstante, no la esteriliza ni destruye los
microorganismos.
Para hacerlo, necesitaffa adquirir un sistema de
purificaciOn de agua.
La tubeffa de agua tambien se conecta a la fabrica
de hielo.
Para que la fabrica de hielo funcione
correctamente, se necesita una presiOn de agua
de 20 - 125 psi (138 - 862 Kpa).
Si el refrigerador se instala en una zona con baja
presiOn de agua (inferior a los 20 psi), puede
instalar una bomba cebadora para compensar la
baja presiOn.
Una vez conectada la tubeffa de agua, asegurese
de que el tanque de almacenamiento de agua
dentro del refrigerador este Ileno.
Para hacerlo, presione la palanca del despachador
hasta que salga agua.

Su distribuidor le podra ofrecer los
equipos de instalaciOn de tubeffas de agua
disponibles a un costo adicional.
Recomendamos utilizar un equipo de
suministro de agua que contenga tubeffa
de cobre.
La garantfa del refrigerador Samsung no
cubre la instalaciOn de la tubeffa de agua.
Recomendamos que un fontanero o un
instalador autorizado instale la tubeffa del
agua.

2. Ajuste la tuerca de compresiOn ( B ) sobre el

3. Abra el agua y verifique si hay alguna fuga
dentro del refrigerador, alrededor del filtro de
agua yen las zonas de las conexiones.
Si encuentra gotas o fugas de agua, cierre el
suministro de agua principal.
Si hay fugas en las zonas de las conexiones,
verifique estas y, si es necesario, aprietelas.
Si hay fugas en el refrigerador, revise el filtro de
agua y asegurese de que este en la posiciOn de
bloqueado.
Abra el agua y verifique de nuevo que no haya
fugas.
4. Enchufe el refrigerador.
5. Haga correr 3 galones de agua a traves del
filtro antes de beber o utilizar el agua del
refrigerador. (Elagua debe correr unos 6 minutos.)
Este procedimiento limpiara el sistema de
suministro de agua y eliminara el aire de las
tuberfas.
Para hacer cotter el agua, presione el botOn
Water (Agua) y luego presione la palanca del
despachador de agua con un vaso o una taza
grandes. Llene el vaso, vacfelo en el fregadero de
la cocina y repita el proceso.
[_ s posible que se necesite realizar una
limpieza adicional en algunos hogares.
6. Abra la puerta del refrigerador y asegurese de
que no haya filtraciones de agua provenientes
del filtro de agua.
* Tras poner en funcionamiento el
refrigerador, deje que la fabrica de hielo
haga hielo durante 1 o 2 dfas.
Pasado este tiempo, deseche las
primeras 1 o 2 cubetas de hielo para
asegurarse de que se hayan eliminado
todas las impurezas de latuberfa de agua.
* Solamente conecte la tuberfa de agua a una
fuente de agua potable.
* Si debe reparar o desensamblar la tuberfa de
agua, recorte 1/4" de la tuberfa de plastico para
asegurarse de que la conexiOn sea perfecta y
libre de perdidas.
* Puede probar rapidamente la tuberfa de agua
con un vaso de papel.
En condiciones normales, el despachador de
agua puede Ilenar un vaso de 5.75 oz (170 cc)
en aproximadamente 10 segundos.

Ahora que ya tiene el nuevo refrigerador instalado
en su lugar, puede configurarlo y disfrutar de sus
funciones.
Complete los siguientes pasos para poner el
refrigerador en funcionamiento.
1. Asegurese de que el refrigerador se
encuentre en una ubicaciOn apropiada a una
distancia razonable de la pared. Consulte las
instrucciones de instalaciOn de este manual.
2. Una vez enchufado, asegurese de que la
luz interior se encienda cuando se abran las
puertas.
3. Coloque el control de temperatura en la marca
mas fffa y espere una hora.

1. FunciOn de alarma de la puerta
Si la alarma de la puerta esta activada,
cuando una puerta del refrigerador quede
abierta durante mas de dos minutos,
sonara una alarma.
El sonido se detiene cuando se cierra la
suerta. La funciOn de alarma de la puerta
ya viene activada de fabrica.
Se puede desactivar presionando y
liberando el botOn Alarm (Alarma).
Puede volver a activarla con el mismo
srocedimiento.
El fcono se enciende cuando la funciOn se
activa.
Cuando la funciOn de Alarma de la puerta
esta activada y se oye el sonido de la
alarma, el fcono Door Alarm (Alarma de
la puerta) parpadeara mientras suena la
alarma.
2. Cambiar las unidades de temperatura
entre °C y °R
Mantenga presionado este botOn durante
3 segundos para seleccionar el tipo de
temperatura que quiere que se muestre.
Cada vez que se mantiene presionado
el botOn, se alternan los modos de
temperatura °C y °F y se iluminan los
indicadores °C o °F para indicar la
selecciOn.

Visor apagado
Para ahorrar energfa, el panel del visor se apaga
automaticamente en las siguientes condiciones:
No se presion6 ningun botOn, las puertas
estan cerradas o no se empuj6 la palanca del
despachador durante un perfodo de tiempo.
Sin embargo, el fcono que indica la selecciOn de
hielo en cubos o triturado permanece encendido.
Cuando presione un botOn, abra una puerta o
empuje la palanca del despachador, el visor del
panel volvera a encenderse.
Todos los botones de funciones, excepto los de
Water (Agua) y Cubed / Crushed Ice (Hielo en cubes
/ Hielo triturado), volveran afuncionar cuando retire
el dedo del bot0n que esta presionando.

Cuando el fcono del bloqueo del control
se enciende, todos los botones del

Control Lock (Fabricade hielo desactivada!
Bloqueo control) durante 3 segundos para

reactivar los botones del panel.
Este indicador deberfa estar siempre
encendido puesto que indica que se
puede despachar agua correctamente.
Pulse elbot0n Cubed Ice (Hielo en cubos) o
Crushed Ice (Hielo triturado) para seleccionar
el tipo de hielo que desea obtener.
Cada vez que presiona el botOn, los
modos de hielo en cubos o triturado
alternan y el fcono correspondiente se
enciende para indicar su selecciOn.
Si no necesita hielo, apague la funciOn
3ara ahorrar en consumo de agua y
de energfa (consulte "Fabrica de hielo
desactivada" a continuaciOn).

Como se usa e[ fi[tro de agua
Este fcono se enciende cuando es
necesario reemplazar el filtro, normalmente
despues de que el refrigerador haya
despachado 300 galones de agua
(despues de aproximadamente 6 meses).
Despues de haber instalado el nuevo
filtro de agua, restablezca el indicador del
filtro manteniendo presionado el botOn
Filter Reset (Restablecer filtro) durante 3
segundos.
Si el agua no sale del despachador o Io
hace lentamente, se necesita remplazar
el filtro porque esta obturado.
Algunas zonas poseen grandes
cantidades de cal en el agua, Io
que provoca que el filtro de agua se
obstruya con mas rapidez.
Si este es el caso en su zona, debera
cambiar el filtro de agua con una
frecuencia superior a seis meses.
Modelos de Norteamerica (EE.UU. y
Canada) solamente:
El modo Enfriamiento desactivado,
tambien Ilamado modo Tienda,
esta disehado para que Io usen los
distribuidores cuando exhiben los
refrigeradores en las tiendas.
En el modo Enfriamiento desactivado,
el motor del ventilador y las luces del
refrigerador funcionan normalmente,
)ero los compresores no Io hacen, y el
refrigerador y el congelador no se enfrfan.
Para iniciar el modo Enfriamiento
desactivado, mantenga presionados
los botones Lighting (Luz)y Freezer
(Congelador) durante 5 segundos durante
el funcionamiento normal.
Se escuchara un repique en el refrigerador
y el indicador de temperatura parpadeara
en "OFF" (Apagado).
Para cancelar el modo Enfriamiento
desactivado, mantenga presionados
nuevamente los botones Lighting (Luz) y
Freezer (Oongelador) durante 5 segundos.

Si parece que el refrigerador funciona pero no
enfrfa y se mueven los indicadores de temperatura
del congelador y refrigerador, el refrigerador esta
en el modo Enfriamiento desactivado.
Para cancelar el modo Enfriamiento desactivado,
siga las indicaciones anteriores.
E-Smart
El fcono E-Smart permite verificar el estado de la
conexiOn del PA del refrigerador (conexiOn de red).
• Cuando esta conectado al PA: el fcono E-Smart
se enciende.
• Cuando no esta conectado al PA: el fcono
E-Smart se apaga.

COmo conseguir el mejor rendimiento del
refrigerador E-Smart.
Conexi6n
Para usar las funciones Smart Grid (respuesta a la
demanda) y E-Smart del refrigerador, se necesitan
los siguientes dispositivos y aplicaciones:
• Dispositivos: 1) Enrutador inalambrico, 2)
Refrigerador Samsung E-Smart, 3) Telefono
inteligente (recomendados: Galaxy S4,Galaxy
Note3/Android OS Jelly bean).
Aplicaciones: 1)"Samsung E-Smart App" en
Google Play Store o Samsung Apps.
Ademas debera:
Conectar el refrigerador y el telefono inteligente
a la misma red Wi-Fi de su casa.
Instalar y ejecutar la Samsung E-Smart App en
su telefono inteligente.
Ademas, para usar la funciOn Smart Grid
(respuesta a la demanda), debe registrar el servicio
en su compahfa de electricidad.
La compahfa debe tener un EMS (sistema de
gestiOn de energfa) compatible con SEP (perfil de
energfa inteligente).

Descarga de la aplicaci6n E-Smart y
conexi6n del refrigerador a la red
1, En el telefono inteligente conectese a latienda
de aplicaciones (por ejemplo, Google Play,
etc.).
2, Busque la aplicaciOn con la palabra clave
"Samsung E-Smart Ref.".
3, Descargue la aplicaciOn e instalela en su
telefono.
4, Inicie la aplicaciOn.
Aparece la pantalla de configuraciOn de red,
5, Configure la informaciOn del PA (SSID,
contrase_a, etc.) en la pantalla de la aplicaciOn,
6, Configure la red segOn las indicaciones de la
aplicaciOn.
7, En el refrigerador, mantenga presionados los

Si el PA admite DHCP, puede conectar el
refrigerador a internet mediante DHCP o un
direcciOn IP establecida,
Establezca el canal del PA en uno que no este
utilizando actualmente,
Si el canal del PA Io esta utilizando otro
dispositivo cercano, pueden producirse
interferencias,
La mayorfa de las redes inalambricas permite
configurar la seguridad de la red.
Si su red tiene una contraseSa de seguridad,
debe ingresarla para conectarse a la red.

MAC
Esta funci6n muestra la direcci6n MAC del m6dulo
Wi-Fi del refrigerador durante 1 minuto.
1. Mantenga presionados los botones Freezer
(Congelador) y Energy Saver (Ahorro de
energfa) durante 3 segundos.
2. Se poye un zumbido. Se muestran
sucesivamente cuatro de las doce direcciones
Mac del modulo Wi-Fi en los visores de
temperatura del congelador y del refrigerador
durante 1 minuto.
Por ejemplo, si la direcciOn MAC del modulo
Wi-Fi es "11-22-33-44-55-66", la direcciOn
MAC se muestra asf: "11 22" _ "33 44" _ "55
66" _ .... _ "11 22" durante 1 minuto.
3. Despues de 1 minuto, se oye nuevamente un
zumbido y el visor recupera el estado normal.

Si las direcciones Mac no estan
disponibles o no hay modulo Wi-Fi,

Cuando el refrigerador opera en modo SMART
GRID (respuesta a la demanda), la funciOn
Refrigerador E-Smart permite controlar el uso
de energfa o demorar algunas funciones para
ahorrar dinero cuando el precio de la energfa o la
demanda son m_s elevados.

Se puede desactivar el modo SMART
GRID (respuesta a la demanda) en
cualquier momento. (Usando [a funciOn
de activaciOn/desactivaciOn de [a
anulaciOn).
Para usar [a funciOn SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda), se necesita
un contrato aparte con la compaff[a de
servicio electrico.
Uso de [a funciOn SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda)
Esta funciOn controla los precios de la energfa y
la informacion de la demanda desde la compaSfa
de servicio el_ctrico y envfa notificaciones al
refrigerador para que ejecute tareas de mayor
consumo energ_tico fuera de las horas punta
cuando el costo y la demanda de la electricidad
son menores.
Cuando el refrigerador recibe una seSal de control
de la compaSfa de servicio el_ctrico, muestra en el
visor del refrigerador los niveles DAL (L3) - TALR
(L4) y controla el consumo de energfa segOn estos
niveles.
[CondiciOn de excepciOn] Las seSales de control
DAL y TALR de una compahfa de servicio electrico
funcionan mientras se mantiene el rendimiento del
producto.
Si el refrigerador recibe la seSal SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda) (DAL o TALR), funciona
en los modos Demora en la carga del aparato
(Visor: L3) o ReducciOn temporal de la carga del

refrigerador ignora la serial SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda) y deja de estar
controlado por la compafifa de servicio el_ctrico.

1. Mantenga presionado el botOn ]Energy Saver]
(Ahorro de energfa) durante 3 segundos.
2. Se oye un zumbido y se muestra "Or" y "on" en
los visores de temperatura del congelador y del
refrigerador durante 5 segundos.
3. Si el refrigerador recibe la serial SMART GRID
(respuesta a la demanda) de la compafifa de
servicio electrico, se muestra "Or" en el visor de
temperatura del congelador.
4. Para desactivar el modo OVERRIDE (ANULAR),
mantenga presionado el botOn ]Energy Saver]
(Ahorro de energfa) durante 3 segundos.

La funciOn E-SMART permite controlar y supervisar
remotamente el estado del refrigerador E-Smart
segun su conveniencia.
+ Para usar las funciones del refrigerador
E-SMART, en primer lugar debe instalar
la aplicaciOn Samsung E-Smart App.
+ La aplicaciOn solo admite control interior.
Funciones E-Smart
1. Estado de funcionamiento, ajustes del usuario
y mensajes.
+ Puede vet la configuraciOn de la temperatura
del congelador y del refrigerador.
+ Puede recibir una alarma cuando la puerta
del congelador odel refrigerador permanece
abierta durante 2 minutos.
El indicador de la alarma de puerta abierta
aparece en la barra de estado de la parte
superior del telefono celular.
+ Puede verificar los estados de DR y de Anulaci0n.
+ Puede verificar el estado de funcionamiento de

2. GestiOn remota

desactivado): puede configurar en manera

3. Informe del consumo de energfa
+ Muestra elconsumo de energfa acumulado.
Los datos del consumo de energfa se
actualizan cada 10 minutos.

El informe del consumo de energfa puede
diferir de las especificaciones de consumo
de energfa del producto dependiendo
del entorno de funcionamiento y de los
alimentos almacenados.
4. Capacidad de demora del descongelamiento
+ La funciOn Capacidad de demora del
descongelamiento ahorra energfa demorando
el descongelamiento hasta el tiempo

Se puede configurar el tiempo y esta funciOn
reduce el consumo de energfa durante el
tiempo especificado en ciclos de 24 horas.
Si no se establece el tiempo, funciona de

la siguiente:
6 am a 10 am: 1 de noviembre + 30 de abril

Para retirar la cubeta de hielo.
Sostenga la manija como se muestra en la
figura 1.
Levante y jale la cubeta lentamente.
Retire lentamente la cubeta de hielo para
prevenir da_os.
Cuando vuelva a instalar la cubeta de hielo,
mantenga presionado el botOn ICE (HIELO)
durante 6 segundos.

Cualquier sonido que oiga cuando la f_.brica
de hielo arroja hielo en la cubeta es parte del
funcionamiento normal.
El hielo puede amontonarse en la cubeta si no
saca hielo durante un peffodo prolongado.
Si ocurre esto, retiretodo el hielo y vade la cubeta.
Si no sale hielo, verifique el hielo trabado en el
recipiente y redrelo.
La primera tanda de cubos de hielo despues
de la instalaciOn puede ser pequeSa debido a
que ha ingresado aire en latubeffa.
El aire se purgara con el uso normal.

• Cuando parpadee Ice Maker Off (F_brica de
hielo desactivada) en el panel del visor, vuelva
a insertar la cubeta y asegOrese de que esta
instalada correctamente.

Si cierra la puerta con fuerza, el agua puede

Suministro de agua por Osmosis inversa
IMPORTANTE:
La presiOn del suministro de agua que sale del
sistema por Osmosis inversa que va a la valvula
de entrada de agua del refrigerador necesita estar
entre 35 y 120 psi (241 y 827 kPa).
Si se conecta un sistema de filtraciOn de agua
por Osmosis inversa al suministro de agua frfa, la
presiOn de agua al sistema de Osmosis inversa
debe tener un mfnimo de 40 a 60 psi (276 a 414
kPa).
Si la presiOn de agua al sistema de Osmosis
inversa es menor de 40 a 60 psi (276 a 414 kPa):

® Conectar el refrigerador y el telelono inteligente a la misma red wifi de su casa.
® Instalar y ejecutar la Samsung E-Smar_ App en su tel#forte inteligente (para utilizar la
funcion Samsung E-Smart).
® Ademas, para usar la funci6n Smart Grid (respuesta a la demanda), debe registrar el
servicio en su compariia de ebctricidad.
La compa_i[a debe tener un EMS (sistema de gesti6n de energia) compatible con
SEP (perfil de energia inteligente).
® Asegurese de que el enrutador de su casa e Intemet operen cen normalidad.
Conecte un telefono inteligente al enrutador (_z_,punto de acceso) y asegurese de
que pueda acceder a Intemet.
® Asegurese de que el refrigerador este conectado al BzL
Revise el iceno E-Smart en el VISOR del refrigerador.
Si el refrigerador esta conectado, el icono estara encendido.
® Asegurese de que el refrigerader y el tel#tone inteligente est@_cenectados al mismo
enrutader.
Asegurese de que el enrutador de su casa e Intemet operen cen normalidad.
Conecte un telefono inteligente al enrutador (_z_,punto de acceso) y asegurese de
que pueda acceder a Intemet.
Asegurese de que la zona dende usted forma parte de la aplicacion del tel#feno
inteligente.
Asegurese de que la funci0n Smart Grid opere correctamente.
(Revise el VISOR. L3 y L4 no se deben mostrar en el Visor.)
Empuje la palanca del despachador y revise el suministro de agua.
Empuje la palanca del despachador (mode de hieb) y asegurese de que funcione el
motor sinfin.
Retire los objetos de los estantes que puedan obstruir el motor sinfin.
Precauciones : No dispensar hielo durante mucho tiempo puede provocar que el hielo
se amontone en lacubeta y que el motor sinfin no funcione correctamente.
Retire el hielo restante de la cubeta y los objetos que puedan obstruir el motor sinfin.
Haga funcionar el despachador (agua y hielo) para mejorar el cierre automb_tico de la
puer_a del congelador.
