Then, insert eighteen CAM DOWELS (2F) into the HIDDEN CAMS except the long edges of the ENDS (A and B) and DRAWER BRACE (M63). Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step. Turn six BLACK 9/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (32S) into the ENDS (A and B) until the shoulders of the SCREWS rest on the surfaces of the ENDS. å å NOTE: Do not overtighten the SCREWS. å NOTE: If the MOLDINGS come up off of the SCREWS, remove them and slide them on again. Now, slide the END MOLDINGS (P) onto the ENDS (A and B). To do this, line up the grooves in the MOLDINGS over the heads of the SCREWS in the ENDS. Using your hands, apply pressure on the MOLDINGS as you guide the MOLDINGS onto the ENDS. These edges should be even. P B A P These edges should be even. Be prepared, the parts are greasy. å Fasten the EXTENSION RAILS (L) to the ENDS (A and B). Use four GOLD 5/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (3S). å NOTE: For each EXTENSION RAIL, turn a SCREW into the hole shown in the enlarged diagram.Then, slide the inner cartridge of the EXTENSION RAIL out to find the other hole that lines up with the hole in the END. Turn a SCREW into this hole. M L Push the black lever in and pull the SLIDE from the RAIL. Maximum 210 degrees Fasten the TOP (C2) to the ENDS (A and B) and BACK (F). Tighten six HIDDEN CAMS. Arrow Minimum 190 degrees Meet Part (C2). This component has been engineered to be lighter, stronger, faster… well ok. Not technically faster. But definitely makes for a sturdier Lateral File that’s easier to assemble and friendlier to the environment. It isn't Rome. Use the screws in the HINGES. å NOTE: You may need to loosen the mounting screw to slide the HINGE slightly out of the slot. Retighten the screw before mounting the HINGE to the END. å Peel the BUMPER from the BUMPER CARD (29M). Stick a BUMPER on the DOOR where it comes in contact with the SHELF (E). å Fasten a PULL (7K) to the DOOR (G). Use two SILVER 3/4" MACHINE SCREWS (20S). å Repeat this step for the other DOOR (G). Follow the text below to make needed adjustments. DOOR ADJUSTMENTS: å To adjust the DOORS from side to side (horizontal), turn the adjusting screw in or out. å To adjust the DOORS up and down (vertical), loosen both screws that fasten the HINGE BRACKETS to the END. Move the DOORS up or down to the desired location. Tighten the screws after making adjustments. Adjusting screw (horizontal) å Mounting screw (depth) To adjust the DOORS in or out (depth), loosen the mounting screw one turn and move the DOORS in or out, as needed. Gently tilt the DRAWER SIDES side to side until the tabs slip into the slots. With the palm of your hand, tap the DRAWER BOTTOM down into the groove. Use four GOLD 5/16" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (3S) through holes #1 and #4. å NOTE: The screw head in the CAM must be visible through the slotted hole in the SLIDE. Use two BROWN 7/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (6S). å Fasten a FILE BRACKET (12B) to the DRAWER BACK (D61). Use two BROWN 7/16" LARGE HEAD SCREWS (6S). 6S BROWN 7/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (4 used in this step) 12B 11B D61 K www.sauder.com/services 418658 Page 21 Step 18 å Press one of the FILE GLIDES (6B) over the LEFT DRAWER SIDE (D88) as shown in the upper diagram. The FILE GLIDES are necessary to hang files. å Slide the FILE RODS (9B) through a FILE BAR (1B), through the holes in the FILE BRACKETS (11B and 12B), through another FILE BAR (1B), and into the FILE GLIDE (6B) on the LEFT DRAWER SIDE (D88) as shown in the upper diagram. å Slide another FILE GLIDE (6B) onto the other end of the FILE RODS (9B), then press this FILE GLIDE over the RIGHT DRAWER SIDE (D87) as shown in the lower diagram. 9B st 1 6B 12B D88 1B 9B 1B 11B 9B 2nd D88 6B D87 Page 22 418658 www.sauder.com/services Step 19 å Fasten two PULLS (7K) to the DRAWER FRONT (J). Use four SILVER 1-1/4" MACHINE SCREWS (35S) through the DRAWER BOX FRONT (K), through the DRAWER FRONT, and into the PULLS. If you're doing this to help a friend, don't leave without a bite. 35S SILVER 1-1/4" MACHINE SCREW (4 used for the PULLS) J 7K K www.sauder.com/services 418658 Page 23 Step 20 å To insert the drawer into your unit, line up the EXTENSION SLIDES on the drawer with the EXTENSION RAILS on the unit and push the drawer into the unit until the drawer is fully inserted. The drawer will push in hard until it is all the way in, then it will slide in and out easier. 50 lbs. 30 lbs. 40 lbs. Page 24 418658 www.sauder.com/services Step 21 å To make adjustments to the drawer, loosen SCREW #4 in the SLIDES a 1/4 turn, then turn the CAM clockwise or counter-clockwise. Notice how the drawer raises or lowers as you turn the CAM. The higher the screw in the oblong hole, the higher your drawer front will be. The lower the screw, the lower the drawer front. By adjusting the drawer this way, it will help the DRAWER FRONT line up better when closed. Tighten the SCREW when finished with adjustments. å å NOTE: Please read the back pages of the instruction booklet for important safety information. This completes assembly. To clean your unit, dampen a cloth with tap water and wipe. And to celebrate, why not share your success story? Loosen screw #4 a 1/4 turn, turn the cam a 1/4 turn maximum in both the clockwise and counter-clockwise directions to make adjustments, and then tighten screw #4. The higher the screw in the oblong hole, the higher your drawer front will be. Fixer les autres PIEDS (H et I) aux EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B). Serrer six EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES. Assembler l'élément sur un sol à moquette ou sur le carton vide pour éviter d'endommager l'élément ou le sol. Enfoncer trente et un EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES (1F) dans les EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B), le DESSOUS (D), la TABLETTE (E), l'ARRIÈRE (F) et l'ENTRETOISE DE TIROIR (M63). Ensuite, insérer dix-huit CHEVILLES D'EXCENTRIQUE (2F) dans les EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES à l’exception des longs chants des EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B) et de l’ENTRETOISE DE TIROIR (M63). ÉTAPE 6 ÉTAPE 2 REMARQUE : Pour chaque GLISSIÈRE D'EXTENSION, faire tourner une VIS dans le trou indiqué dans le schéma agrandi. Ensuite, enfiler la cartouche interne de la GLISSIÈRE D'EXTENSION vers l'extérieur pour trouver l'autre trou qui est aligné sur le trou dans l'EXTRÉMITÉ. Faire tourner une VIS dans ce trou. Faire tourner treize VIS D'EXCENTRIQUE (8F) dans les PIEDS (H et I) et le DEVANT DE CAISSON DE TIROIR (K). ÉTAPE 3 Fixer l’un des PIEDS (H et I) aux EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B). Serrer six EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES. ÉTAPE 4 Faire tourner six VIS TÊTE PLATE 14 mm NOIRES (32S) dans les EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B) jusqu'à ce que l'épaulement des TROUS repose sur la surface des EXTRÉMITÉS. Séparer les COULISSES D'EXTENSION (M) des GLISSIÈRES D'EXTENSION (L) comme l'indique le schéma du haut. Faire attention car les pièces sont graissées. Fixer les GLISSIÈRES D'EXTENSION (L) aux EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B). Utiliser quatre VIS TÊTE PLATE 8 mm DORÉES (3S). ÉTAPE 7 Fixer la TABLETTE (E) à l’ARRIÈRE (F). Serrer deux EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES. Attention: Risque des dégâts ou blessures. Les Excentriques Escamotables doivent être serrés à bloc. Les Excentriques Escamotables que ne sont pas serrées à bloc peuvent desserrer et les pièces peuvent séparer. Pour serrer à bloc, faire tourner l'excentrique escamotable de 210 degrés. REMARQUE : Ne pas trop serrer les VIS. Maintenant, enfiler les MOULURES D'EXTRÉMITÉ (P) sur les EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B). Pour cela, aligner les rainures des MOULURES sur les têtes des VIS dans les EXTRÉMITÉS. Avec les mains, appliquer une certaine pression sur les MOULURES pour guider les MOULURES sur les EXTRÉMITÉS. ÉTAPE 8 Fixer le DESSOUS (D) à l’ARRIÈRE (F). Serrer deux EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES. REMARQUE : Si la MOULURE soulève au-dessus les VIS, l'enlever et l'enfiler de nouveau. www.sauder.com/services 418658 Page 27 ÉTAPE 9 ÉTAPE 13 Fixer les EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B) au DESSOUS (D) et à la TABLETTE (E). Serrer huit EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES. Consulter le schéma agrandi pour identifier les pièces des CHARNIÈRES et CONSOLES DE CHARNIÈRE. ÉTAPE 10 Relever, avec précaution, l'élément dans sa position verticale. Fixer le DESSUS (C2) aux EXTRÉMITÉS (A et B) et à l’ARRIÈRE (F). Serrer six EXCENTRIQUES ESCAMOTABLES. ÉTAPE 11 Fixer quatre CHARNIÈRES (14H) et les RONDELLES D'ESPACEMENT DE CHARNIÈRE (22H) sur les PORTES (G). Utiliser huit VIS TÊTE PLATE 16 mm ARGENTÉES (23S). ÉTAPE 12 Fixer l'une des PORTES (G) à l'EXTRÉMITÉ GAUCHE (B). Utiliser les vis fournies avec les CHARNIÈRES. REMARQUE : Il est peut-être nécessaire de desserrer la vis de fixation pour glisser le CHARNIÈRE partiellement hors de la fente. Resserrer la vis avant de monter la CHARNIÈRE à l’EXTRÉMITÉ. Séparer le TAMPON de la FICHE AVEC TAMPONS (29M). Coller un TAMPON sur la PORTE là où elle entre en contact avec la TABLETTE (E). Fixer une POIGNÉE (7K) à la PORTE (G). Utiliser deux VIS ARGENTÉES À MÉTAUX 19 mm (20S). Répéter cette étape pour l'autre PORTE (G). Il faut peut-être ajuster les PORTES. Suivre les indications ci-dessous pour ajuster. Serrer les vis après avoir ajusté. Pour ajuster les PORTES vers l'intérieur où vers l'extérieur (profondeur), desserrer la vis de montage un tour et déplacer les PORTES vers l'intérieur ou vers l'extérieur. Serrer la vis de montage après avoir ajusté. ÉTAPE 14 1. Insérer les CÔTÉS DE TIROIR (D87 et D88) en biseau dans la fente dans chaque extrémité du DEVANT DE CAISSON DE TIROIR (K). 2. Enfiler le FOND DE TIROIR (D729) dans les rainures des CÔTÉS DE TIROIR (D87 et D88) et du DEVANT DE TIROIR (K). 3. Fixer le DEVANT DE TIROIR (M63) au DEVANT DE CAISSON DE TIROIR (K). Serrer un EXCENTRIQUE ESCAMOTABLE. 4. Fixer l'ARRIÈRE DE TIROIR (D61) aux CÔTÉS DE TIROIR (D87 et D88) et à l’ENTRETOISE DE TIROIR (M63). Utiliser cinq VIS TÊTE PLATE 40 mm NOIRES (30S). ÉTAPE 15 Fixer le DEVANT DE TIROIR (J) au DEVANT DE CAISSON DE TIROIR (K). Utiliser quatre VIS TÊTE GOUTTE DE SUIF 28 mm NOIRES (9S). Fixer les COULISSES D'EXTENSION (M) aux CÔTÉS DE TIROIR (D87 et D88). Utiliser quatre VIS DORÉES TÊTE PLATE 8 mm (3S) à travers les trous nº 1 et nº 4. REMARQUE : La tête de vis dans l'EXCENTRIQUE doit être visible à travers le trou fendu dans la COULISSE. ÉTAPE 17 Fixer une CONSOLE POUR DOSSIERS (11B) au DEVANT DE CAISSON DE TIROIR (K). Utiliser deux VIS TÊTE LARGE 11 mm MARRON (6S). Fixer une CONSOLE POUR DOSSIERS (12B) à l'ARRIÈRE DE TIROIR (D61). Utiliser deux VIS TÊTE LARGE 11 mm MARRON (6S). ÉTAPE 18 Appuyer l’une des ARMATURES POUR DOSSIERS (6B) sur le CÔTÉ DE TIROIR GAUCHE (D88) comme l'indique le schéma supérieur. Les ARMATURES POUR DOSSIERS sont indispensables pour suspendre les dossiers. Enfiler les GUIDES POUR DOSSIERS (9B) à travers une TRINGLE POUR DOSSIERS (1B), à travers les trous dans les CONSOLES POUR DOSSIERS (12B et 11B), à travers autre TRINGLE POUR DOSSIERS (1B) et dans le GUIDE POUR DOSSIERS (6B) située sur le CÔTÉ DE TIROIR GAUCHE (D88) comme l'indique le schéma supérieur. ÉTAPE 20 Pour insérer un tiroir dans l'élément, aligner les COULISSES D'EXTENSION du tiroir sur les GLISSIÈRES D'EXTENSION de l'élément et enfoncer le tiroir dans l'élément jusqu'à ce que le tiroir soit complètement inséré. Le tiroir offrira une certaine résistance jusqu'à ce qu'il soit complètement inséré dans l'élément, il glissera ensuite sans difficulté. Pase cuatro TORNILLOS PLATEADOS PARA METAL de 32 mm (35S) a través del FRENTE DE CAJÓN (K), a través de la CARA DE CAJÓN y dentro de los TIRADORES.
