Humidiﬁ er Evaporative Humidiﬁ er

has a unique patented design with several

innovative features:

• Exclusive EnduraWick

™

Long Life Fil-

ter – The patented self-pumping paper wick

has an outer layer which disperses water to

the upper and outer areas of the wick to

ensure consistent moisture distribution. This

helps to reduce buildup of mineral residue

on the lower part of the wick and retain

performance for signiﬁ cantly longer than

traditional paper wicks.

• Built-in Antimicrobial Properties – The

plastic parts and the ﬁ lter have built-in an-

timicrobial properties to inhibit the growth

of bacteria, mold and fungi that may affect

these parts.

NOTE: This product contains antimicrobial

properties which are built-in to inhibit the

growth of bacteria which may affect the

plastic and ﬁ lter in the humidiﬁ er. These

properties do not extend to the water,

humidiﬁ ed air or users. Conduct routine

cleaning and maintenance based upon use

and individual conditions.

Important Safety Instructions:

Read all instructions before

using this humidiﬁ er.

1. This humidifier may not work prop-

erly on an uneven surface. ALWAYS

place this humidiﬁ er on a ﬁ rm, level,

and water resistant surface. ALWAYS

place the humidiﬁ er at least six (6) inches

away from walls and heat sources such

as stoves, radiators, or heaters.

2. ALWAYS place the humidifier in an

area that is out of the reach of children.

3. Before using the humidifier, extend

the cord and inspect for any signs of

damage. DO NOT use the product if

the cord has been damaged.

4. This product has a polarized plug

(one blade is wider than the other) as

a safety feature. This plug will ﬁ t into a

polarized outlet only one way. If the plug

does not ﬁ t fully into the outlet, reverse

the plug. If it still does not ﬁ t, contact a

qualiﬁ ed electrician. DO NOT attempt to

defeat or override this safety feature.

5. ALWAYS UNPLUG AND EMPTY

the humidiﬁ er when it is not in opera-

tion or while it is being cleaned.

6. DO NOT tilt or move the humidiﬁ er

while it is in operation. Never move the

humidiﬁ er while there is water in the

tank. Empty the water tank, turn off,

and unplug the unit before moving.

7. In addition to routine maintenance

which may be required, this humidiﬁ er

requires seasonal cleaning. Refer to and

follow CLEANING THE HUMIDIFIER

AND THE WATER TANK instructions.

8. This unit is designed to be used with

distilled and/or tap water. DO NOT add

scented oils, perfumes, or fragrance ad-

ditives to the water.

NOTE: You may notice mineral deposits

accumulating in the tank base or on the

ﬁ lter. This is normal and does not affect

performance. If you would like to clean

Humidiﬁ er Features

For Model 32502

Power/Speed Control: Turns the humidiﬁ er

‘ON’ and ‘OFF’. The power should always be

off before unplugging the humidiﬁ er, moving

the humidiﬁ er, or reﬁ lling the water tank.

Reﬁ ll Light: The red light will be illuminated to

signal you that the humidiﬁ er has automatically

turned off and the water tank needs to be

reﬁ lled.

Adjustable Humidistat: Enables you to set

a desired maximum humidity level. Once this

level is reached, the unit will shut off until the

humidity level drops.

NOTE: The humidifier may not be running

because the humidistat setting may need to

be adjusted.

Desired Humidity Light: The green light will

be illuminated when the humidity in the room

has reached the level that you selected with the

adjustable humidistat knob.

NiteGlo™ Night Light Control: Turns the

night light ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’. The night light

can be turned on even if the humidiﬁ er fan is

turned off.

1. Remove The Care Free

Humidifier

Evaporative Humidiﬁ er from its packaging.

Read and Save the Instructions.

2. Place the humidifier on a hard, flat,

water resistant surface. Always place the

humidiﬁ er at least six (6) inches away from

walls and sources of heat.

3. Lift the main housing to confirm that

the ﬁ lters are placed upright in the slots.

Replace the main housing. (See Figure 1.)

4. Remove the water tank and take it

to the sink or tub to ﬁ ll.

5. Turn the tank upside down and

unscrew the tank cap by turning it coun-

terclockwise. Fill the water tank with cool

water and replace the tank cap (Never use

hot water). Be sure not to overﬁ ll the tank

as water damage may occur to furniture

or ﬂ ooring due to spillage.

HUNTER WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBIL-

ITY FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY CAUSED

BY WATER SPILLAGE.

6. Carry the tank back to the humidi-

ﬁ er. Turn the tank upright and place it on

the humidiﬁ er. Be sure that the tank is

seated properly in the base. If the tank is

properly located on the base, you will see

air bubbles ﬂ owing up into the tank.

7. With the power control knob in the

‘OFF’ position, plug the humidiﬁ er into the

wall.

CAUTION: Never plug in the Humidiﬁ er

while your hands are wet as Electric

Shock could occur.

8. Place the full tank on the unit and

allow the water to ﬁ ll the bottom tray. The

water is at the proper level in the bottom

tray when the tank stops bubbling. Set the

unit to the desired speed.

9. Use the power/speed control knob

to turn the humidiﬁ er ‘ON’ by selecting a

speed setting.

10. You can choose the desired humidity out-

put by adjusting the Adjustable Hu mi dis tat

knob. In a very dry room, the “HI” setting

should be used to quickly achieve a com-

fortable level of humidity. Once the room

is comfortable, you can turn the Adjust-

able Humidistat down. Selection of your

desired humidity level is a per son al choice

and you may have to adjust the dial to ﬁ nd

the level where you feel most comfort-

able. To begin with, we sug gest you try a

middle location between the lowest and

the maximum setting. Then, adjust the

level to suit your needs.

11. When the humidity reaches the level you

have set, the “Desired Humidity” light will

be illuminated. The humidiﬁ er will not

output humidity while the humidity in the

room is at the selected humidity level. The

“Desired Humidity” light will stay on un til

the humidity changes. When the hu mid i ty

in the room drops below the se lect ed level,

the humidiﬁ er will cy cle on again and the

“Desired Humidity” light will go off.

Only for models with Automatic Shut-off

12. When the water tank is empty, the humidi-

ﬁ er will automatically shut itself off. The

red light will be illuminated, indicating that

the water tank needs to be reﬁ lled.

13. Follow REFILLING THE WATER TANK

directions. Once the water tank is reﬁ lled,

the Reﬁ ll Light will not be illuminated.

14. Use the control to turn the night light off

and on. The night light can be operated

even if the humidiﬁ er fan is turned ‘OFF’.

Cleaning the Humidiﬁ er and the Water Tank

Reﬁ lling the Water Tank

1. When the water tank level is low, turn

the humidiﬁ er ‘OFF’, and unplug.

2. Remove the tank and take it to the sink

or tub to reﬁ ll.

3. Turn the tank upside down and un-

screw the tank cap by turning it counter-

clockwise. Empty the tank, reﬁ ll with fresh

cool water (never use hot water), and replace

the tank cap. Be sure not to overﬁ ll the tank

as water damage may occur to furniture or

ﬂ ooring due to spillage.

HUNTER WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY

FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY CAUSED BY

WATER SPILLAGE.

4. Carry the tank back to the humidifier.

Turn the tank upright and place it on the

humidiﬁ er. Be sure that the tank is seated

properly in the base. If the tank is properly

located on the base, you will see air bubbles

ﬂ owing up into the tank.

5. Place the full tank on the unit and allow

the water to ﬁ ll the bottom tray. The water is

at the proper level in the bottom tray when

the tank stops bubbling. Set the unit to the

desired speed.

Many regions have hard water with high

concentrations of minerals. When water

evaporates from The Care Free

Humidifier

Evaporative Humidiﬁ er, minerals may be left

behind. These minerals can form a hard white

scale which can be removed by following the

cleaning instructions. The frequency of cleaning

due to mineral build up can vary depending upon

the quality of water you may have.

Refer to Figure 1 for part names.

1. Turn the humidifier ‘OFF’ and unplug

the unit.

2. Lift the main housing and remove

the ﬁ lters. The motor is attached to the

main housing. Do not place the motor

near water. Do not use a wet towel on

the motor or motor housing as electrical

shock may occur.

3. At the end of the season, discard the

paper wick and order Hunter replacement

wicks. Call customer service at 1-800-

313-3326 or see our Web page at http:

//www.hunterfan.com.

4. Remove the water tank from the base

and empty any water that is left in the tank.

Soak the base in a mixture of one (1) gallon

of water and eight (8) ounces of vinegar for

20 minutes.

5. After soaking, wipe the base with a soft

cloth or sponge to remove any mineral build

up. Rinse with clean water several times. If

you are planning on storing the humidiﬁ er,

be sure the base is completely dry.

6. Fill the water tank with one (1) gal-

lon of water and eight ounces of undiluted

white vinegar. Replace the tank cap and

shake the tank vigorously until all interior

surfaces of the tank have been exposed to

the water/vinegar mixture.

7. Empty the tank of the water/vinegar

mixture. Rinse it several times with clean

water and then replace the tank cap. If you

are planning on storing the humidiﬁ er, dry it

inside and out, leaving the cap off to allow

the tank to completely dry. Continue to clean

the other parts of your humidiﬁ er.

8. Wipe the surfaces of the main hous-

ing with a soft cloth.

9. Once all the parts are clean, reas-

semble the humidiﬁ er, and follow the US-

ING YOUR HUMIDIFIER to continue use.

If you are storing the humidiﬁ er, make

sure the parts are completely dry, reas-

semble, and store in a dry location.

Troubleshooting

1. Check the water tank and main hous-

ing to make sure it is seated properly on

the base.

2. Check the water tank to make sure

there are no bubbles when the water

tank is full and running. If there are

bubbles, stop the unit and leave off until

bubbling stops. Then, set the unit to the

desired speed.

5 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The Hunter Fan Company, Inc. makes the

following warranty to the original residential

user or consumer purchaser of The Care Free

Humidiﬁ er Evaporative Humidiﬁ er:

If any part of The Care Free

Humidifier

Evaporative Humidiﬁ er (“Humidiﬁ er”) motor

fails during the ﬁ rst 5 (ﬁ ve) years from the date

of installation due to a defect in material or

workmanship, we will provide a replacement

part free of charge. If no replacement part can

be provided for such motor, we will replace

your humidiﬁ er.

If your Humidiﬁ er motor fails any time within

1 (one) year after the date of installation due

to a defect in material or workmanship, labor

to repair the defect will be provided free of

charge at our nearest service centre or at our

Service Department in Memphis, Tennessee.

You will be responsible for all parts and labor

costs after this one-year period.

If your Humidiﬁ er water tank, ﬁ lter frame,

base, knobs, or tank cap fail any time within

1 (one) year after the date of sale to you due

to a defect in material or workmanship, we

will repair or, at our option, replace the water

tank, ﬁ lter frame, base, knobs, or tank cap free

of charge for parts or labor performed at our

nearest service centre or our Service Depart-

ment in Memphis, Tennessee.

IF THE ORIGINAL RESIDENTIAL USER OR

CONSUMER PURCHASER CEASES TO OWN

THE HUMIDIFIER, THIS WARRANTY AND ANY

IMPLIED WARRANTY WHICH THEN REMAINS

IN EFFECT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABIL-

ITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,

ARE VOIDED.

NO WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, IN-

CLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANT-

ABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PUR-

POSE, IS MADE IN RESPECT TO THE FILTER.

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER

EXPRESS WARRANTIES. THE DURATION OF

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING BUT

NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF

MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTIC-

ULAR PURPOSE, IN RESPECT TO THE MOTOR

IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE PERIOD OF THE

EXPRESS WARRANTY SET FORTH ABOVE.

This warranty is voided if your Humidiﬁ er is not

purchased and used in the USA or Canada.

This warranty excludes and does not cover de-

fects, malfunctions, or failures of the Humidiﬁ er

which were caused by repairs by persons not

authorized by us, use of parts, or accessories

not authorized by us, mishandling, modiﬁ ca-

tions, or damage to the Humidiﬁ er while in

your possession, or unreasonable use, includ-

ing failure to provide reasonable and necessary

maintenance. This warranty does not cover

humidiﬁ ers used in commercial applications.

There are no express or implied warranties as

to commercial purchasers or users.

To obtain service, contact the nearest Hunter

authorized service centre or the Hunter Fan

Company Service Department, 2500 Frisco

Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38114, 901-248-

2222. You will be responsible for insurance and

freight or other transportation to our factory

service center. We will return the Humidiﬁ er

freight prepaid to you. The Humidiﬁ er should

be properly packaged to avoid damage in tran-

sit since we will not be responsible for any such

damage. Proof of purchase is required when

requesting warranty service. The purchaser

must present the sales receipt or other docu-

ment that establishes proof of purchase.

IN NO EVENT SHALL HUNTER FAN COMPANY

BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL,

CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES

IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE

HUMIDIFIER. YOUR SOLE REMEDY WILL BE RE-

1. Saque el humidificador evaporativo

Humidiﬁ er del cartón. Lea

y guarde las instrucciones.

2. Coloque el humidificador sobre una

superﬁ cie dura, plana y resistente al agua.

Siempre coloque el humidiﬁ cador a una

distancia de por lo menos seis (6) pulga-

das (15 cm) de las paredes y de fuentes

de calor.

3. Levante la cubierta principal para

conﬁ rmar que los ﬁ ltros estén colocados

correctamente en las ranuras de soporte.

Vuelva a colocar la cubierta principal en su

lugar. (Vea la Figura 1).

4. Saque el tanque de agua y llévelo al

fregadero o tina para llenarlo.

5. Gire el tanque hacia abajo y desen-

rosque la tapa del tanque girándola a la

izquierda. Llene el tanque con agua fresca

y vuelva a taparlo (nunca use agua calien-

te). Asegúrese de no llenar demasiado el

tanque, ya que podría causar daños en

los muebles o en los pisos si ocurre algún

derrame de agua.

6. Lleve el tanque de vuelta al humi-

dificador. Coloque el tanque en posición

derecha e instálelo nuevamente en el

humidificador. Si el tanque está coloca-

do correctamente sobre la base, podrá

ver burbujas de aire subiendo dentro

del tanque.

7. Con la perilla del control de encendi-

do en la posición apagada (OFF), enchufe

el humidiﬁ cador en el tomacorriente de

la pared.

CUIDADO: Nunca enchufe el humidi-

ﬁ cador cuando sus manos estén mo-

jadas, ya que podría sufrir un choque

eléctrico.

Coloque el tanque lleno en la unidad

y permita que el agua llene la bandeja in-

ferior. El agua estará al nivel adecuado en

la bandeja inferior cuando el tanque deje

de burbujear. Fije la unidad a la velocidad

deseada.

9. Use la perilla de control de encendi-

do para encender (ON) el humidiﬁ cador

al seleccionar una de las velocidades de

operación.

10. Puede seleccionar la humedad deseada

ajustando la perilla del humidistato ajus-

table. En una habitación muy seca, la

posición alta (HI) se debe usar para alcan-

zar rápidamente un nivel confortable de

humedad. Una vez que la habitación esté

confortable, usted podrá ajustar el humi-

distato a un nivel de humedad más bajo.

Para comenzar, sugerimos que trate una

posición mediana entre el ajuste mínimo y

el máximo. Entonces, ajuste el humidistato

para obtener el nivel que mejor se adapte

a sus necesidades.

11. Cuando la humedad alcance el nivel

seleccionado, se encenderá la luz in-

dicadora de humedad deseada. El hu-

midificador no producirá más humedad

mientras la humedad en la habitación

esté en el nivel seleccionado. La luz in-

dicadora de humedad deseada perma-

necerá encendida hasta que cambie el

nivel de humedad. Cuando la humedad

en la habitación llegue a un nivel más

bajo que el seleccionado, el humidifi-

cador comenzará a funcionar y a pasar

por sus ciclos nuevamente, y la luz de

humedad deseada se apagará.

Forma de rellenar el tanque de agua

1. Cuando el nivel del tanque de agua

esté muy bajo, apague el humidiﬁ cador y

desenchúfelo del tomacorriente.

2. Retire el tanque de la unidad y llévelo

al fregadero o tina para rellenarlo.

3. Gire el tanque hacia abajo y desen-

rosque la tapa del tanque girándola a la

izquierda. Llene el tanque con agua fresca

y vuelva a taparlo (nunca use agua calien-

te). Asegúrese de no llenar demasiado el

4. Lleve el tanque de vuelta al humidifica-

dor. Coloque el tanque en posición derecha e

instálelo nuevamente en el humidiﬁ cador. Si

el tanque está colocado correctamente sobre

la base, podrá ver burbujas de aire subiendo

dentro del tanque.

Coloque el tanque lleno en la unidad y

permita que el agua llene la bandeja inferior.

El agua estará al nivel adecuado en la bandeja

inferior cuando el tanque deje de burbujear.

Fije la unidad a la velocidad deseada.

12. Cuando el tanque de agua esté vacío, el hu-

midiﬁ cador se apagará automáticamente. Se

iluminará la luz roja, indicando que necesita

rellenar el tanque de agua.

13. Siga las instrucciones tituladas FORMA DE

RELLENAR EL TANQUE DE AGUA. Una vez

que rellene el tanque de agua se apagará la

luz indicadora.

14. Use el control para encender y apagar la luz

nocturna. La luz nocturna se puede operar

aún si el ventilador del humidiﬁ cador está

apagado (OFF).

Forma de limpiar el humidiﬁ cador y el tanque de agua

Muchas regiones tienen agua dura con altas

concentraciones de minerales. Cuando el agua

se evapora del humidiﬁ cador evaporatorio Care

Free

Humidiﬁ er, algunos minerales pueden

quedar depositados sobre las superficies.

Estos minerales pueden formar una escamas

blancas duras que se pueden sacar siguiendo

las instrucciones de limpieza siguientes.

La frecuencia de la limpieza requerida por

la acumulación de mineral puede variar,

dependiendo de la calidad del agua de que

disponga.

Vea los nombres de las piezas en la Figura 1.

1. Apague (“OFF”) el humidificador y

desconecte la unidad del tomacorriente.

2. Levante el alojamiento principal y

retire los ﬁ ltros. El motor está ﬁ jado

a la cubierta principal. No coloque

el motor cerca del agua. No use una

toalla húmeda sobre el motor ni sobre

la cubierta del motor, porque podría

ocurrir un choque eléctrico.

3. Al final de la estación, deseche la

mecha de papel y ordene mechas Hunter

de repuesto. Llame al servicio al cliente al

web en http://www.hunterfan.com.

4. Retire el tanque de agua de la base y

vacíe cualquier cantidad de agua que haya

quedado en el tanque. Sumerja la base en

una mezcla de un (1) galón de agua y ocho

(8) onzas de vinagre durante 20 minutos.

5. Después de ese tiempo, frote la base

con un paño suave o una esponja para

quitar cualquier acumulación de depósitos

minerales. Enjuague la base varias veces

con agua limpia. Si planea guardar su hu-

midiﬁ cador por algún tiempo, asegúrese

de que la base esté completamente seca.

6. Llene el tanque de agua con un (1)

galón de agua y ocho onzas de vinagre

blanco sin diluir. Vuelva a colocar la tapa

del tanque y agite el tanque vigorosamente

hasta que todas las superﬁ cies internas del

tanque hayan sido expuestas a la mezcla

de agua y vinagre.

7. Vacíe la mezcla de agua y vinagre del

tanque. Enjuague el tanque varias veces con

agua limpia y entonces vuelva a colocar

la tapa del tanque. Si planea guardar el

humidiﬁ cador, séquelo por dentro y por

fuera, dejando la tapa abierta para permitir

que el tanque se seque completamente.

Continúe limpiando las otras piezas de su

humidiﬁ cador.

8. Limpie todas las superficies de la

cubierta principal con un paño suave.

9. Una vez que todas las piezas estén

limpias, vuelva a armar el humidiﬁ cador

y siga las instrucciones de la sección FOR-

MA DE USAR SU HUMIDIFICADOR para

continuar el uso de la unidad. Si planea

guardar el humidiﬁ cador, asegúrese de

que las piezas estén completamente

secas, vuelva a armar el humidiﬁ cador

y guárdelo en un lugar seco.
