without first having connected the flexible
antenna (C2), or, with a CB antenna*, with-
out having set the SWR (Standing Wave Ra-
tio) ! Failure to do so may result in destruction
of the power amplifier, which is not covered

Welcome to the world of the new generation of CB radios. The new
PRESIDENT range gives you access to top performance CB equipment.
With the use of up-to-date technology, which guarantees unprece-
dented quality, your PRESIDENT RANDY II FCC is a new step in personal
communication and is the surest choice for the most demanding of
professional CB radio users. To ensure that you make the most of all
its capacities, we advise you to read carefully this manual before
installing and using your PRESIDENT RANDY II FCC.
A) MOBILE CONFIGURATION
1) ANTENNA INSTALLATION
- Remove the flexible antenna (C2) from the device.
- Replace the antenna (C2) with the antenna adapter (C3)
- Connect the CB antenna to the antenna adapter (C3).
a) Choosing your antenna
- For CB radios, the longer the antenna, the better its results. Your
dealer will be able to help you with your choice of antenna.
b) Mobile antenna
- Must be fixed to the vehicle where there is a maximum of metallic
surface (ground plane), away from windscreen mountings.
- If you already have a radio-telephone antenna installed, the CB
antenna should be higher than this.
- There are two types of antenna: pre-regulated which should be
used on a good ground plane (e.g. car roof or lid of the boot),
and adjustable which offer a much larger range and can be
used on a smaller ground plane (see § 3, ADJUSTMENT OF SWR).
- For an antenna which must be fixed by drilling, you will need a
good contact between the antenna and the ground plane.
To obtain this, you should lightly scratch the surface where the
screw and tightening star are to be placed.
- Be careful not to pinch or flatten the coaxial cable (as this runs
the risk of break down and/or short-circuiting).
- Connect the antenna to the adapter (C3).
c) Fixed antenna
- A fixed antenna should be installed in a clear space as possible. If
it is fixed to a mast, it will perhaps be necessary to stay it, accord-
ing to the laws in force (you should seek professional advice). All
PRESIDENT antennas and accessories are designed to give max-
imum efficiency to each CB radio within the range.

2) BASIC OPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUT BEFORE

USING YOUR SET FOR THE FIRST TIME (without
transmitting and without using the “push-to-talk”
switch)
a) Check the antenna connections.
b) Turn the set on by turning the Power knob (1) clockwise.
c) Set the squelch OFF. See § 11 and 12 page 15.
d) Adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
e) Go to channel 20 by using the channel selectors s or t key (3).
3) ADJUSTMENT OF SWR (Standing wave ratio)
WARNING: This must be carried out when you use your CB radio
for the first time (and whenever you re-position your antenna).
The adjustment must be carried out in an obstacle-free area.
* Adjustment with external SWR-meter (e.g. TOS-1 PRESI-
DENT)
a) To connect the SWR meter :
- Connect the SWR meter between the CB radio and the antenna
as close as possible to the CB (use a maximum of 15.75 inches
(40 cm), type President CA-2C).
b) To adjust the SWR meter:
- Set the CB on channel 20.
- Put the switch on the SWR-meter to position FWD (calibration).
- Press the “push-to-talk” switch on the microphone to transmit.
- Bring the index needle to t by using the calibration key.
- Change the switch to position REF (reading of the SWR level).

The reading on the Meter should be as near as possible to 1. If
this is not the case, re-adjust your antenna to obtain a reading
as close as possible to 1. (An SWR reading between 1 and 1.8 is
acceptable).
- It will be necessary to re-calibrate the SWR meter after each
adjustment of the antenna.
WARNING: In order to avoid any losses and attenuations in ca-
bles used for connection between the radio and its accessories,
PRESIDENT recommends to use a cable with a length less than
118.11 inches (3 m).
Your CB is now ready for use.
B) HANDHELD CONFIGURATION
1) INSTALLATION
- Screw the flexible antenna (C2) on the device.
- Check that the battery is fully charged. See § CHARGING THE
RANDY II FCC page 21.

D) FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
1) ON/OFF ~ VOLUME
- Turn the On/Off-Volume knob (1) clockwise for setting the unit on
and increase the volume. If the KEY BEEP function is activated, 4
tones sound when you turn the CB radio on.
- Turn the On/Off-Volume knob (1) counter clockwise for decreasing
the volume and setting the unit off.

3) CHANNEL SELECTOR: t/s keys
- Press the t (3) button to decrease a channel.
- Press the s (3) button to increase a channel.
A “beep” sounds each time the channel changes, if the KEY
BEEP function is activated. See § KEY BEEP page 17.
4) CB/WX ~ ALERT
CB/WX (short press)
Short press the CB/WX key (4) to alternate between CB or WX
(Weather Channel) mode. “WX” appears on the display if the
Weather Channel mode is active.
WX (Weather Channel) Mode
CB functions are not allowed in WX mode.
The WX mode allows you to hear weather informations. When
the mode is activated, use the s or t key (3) to move through
the 7 weather channels and find the active channel in your local
area. See table page 55.
The display shows the selected weather channel and if the unit
receives a signal, icon appears.
ALERT (long press)
This function only works in CB mode. It does not work in WX mode.
Press and hold the ALERT key (4) for 1 second to activate/deac-
tivate the ALERT function. When the function is ON and a tone is
detected at the selected weather channel, then the unit sounds
a “siren” alert. “ALERT” and the WX channel blink on the display.
The unit cancels CB mode and goes to WX mode.
While the “siren” sounds, press any key to stop the sound, “ALERT”
and the “WX channel” stop blinking on the display.
Note: The “siren” alert sounds when ALERT is detected in the
selected WEATHER channel only. Use first SCAN function in WX
mode (see § Weather channel scan page 12) for detect alerts
in all the weather channels.
5) SCAN ~ SKIP ~ DW
SCAN (short press)
Short press the SCAN key (5) to activate the SCAN function. Press
the s key (3) to scan in increasing order. Press the t key (3) to
scan in decreasing order.

The scanning stops as soon as there is a busy channel. The scanning
automatically starts 5 seconds after the end of the transmission
and no key is activated during 5 seconds. The scan also restarts
in increasing order with the s key (3), or in decreasing order with
the t key (3).
When the SCAN function is activated, “SCAN” blinks on the
display.
CB channel scan
In CB mode (see § CB/WX page 11), the SCAN function scans
the 40 CB channels.
Weather channel scan
In WX mode (see § CB/WX page 11), the SCAN function scans
the 7 WX channels.
Note: The weather channel SCAN can run in the background
while using the unit in CB mode.
In the current mode, press the PTT switch (14) to deactivate the
SCAN function. “SCAN” disappears on the display.
SKIP (long press only when the SCAN function is activated)
This function allows you to SKIP a channel found by the SCAN
function. When the scan stops on an unwanted channel, press
and hold the SCAN key (5) for 1 second to store this channel
in the SCAN SKIP memory. A beep sounds. The channel will no
longer be scanned.
Consult the menu SCAN SKIP on page 20.
DW (Dual Watch) (long press)
Long press the DW key (5) to activate the DW function. Allows
to alternate between the active and a second (customizable)
channel. When the function is active, “DW” appears on the
display.
Press the PTT switch (14) to exit the DW function.

6) EMG ~ EMG SET
EMG (short press)
Emergency channel is automatically selected by pressing the
EMG Key (6). First short press to call the first emergency customis-
able channel. Second short press to call the second emergency

customisable channel. “EMG” appears on the display when an
emergency channel is activated. Third short press to go back to
the current channel. “EMG” disappears on the display.

EMG SET (long press)
Priority channels can be assigned to any channel. To define a
new priority channel:
1. Press shortly the EMG key (6) until you select the priority channel
to be customized. “EMG” is displayed on the LCD.
2. Press the EMG key (6) for one second to set the selected emer-
gency channel. is displayed. “EMG” blinks.
3. Press the s or t key (3) to select the new emergency channel.
4. Short press the EMG key (6) to validate. The current modulation
mode blinks.
5. Press s or t key (3) to select the modulation mode AM or FM.
6. Press the PTT key (14) to validate.
7. If no key is pressed, the unit exits after 10 seconds without saving
the modifications.
The default priority channels are channel 9 AM (1) and channel
19 AM (2). See menu EMG SETTING page 19.
7) VOX ~ MENU
VOX (short press)
The VOX function allows transmitting by speaking into the original
microphone (or in the optional vox microphone) without press-
ing the PTT switch (14). The use of an optional vox microphone
connected to the unit (A) disables the original microphone.
Press shortly the VOX key (7) in order to activate the VOX function.
“VOX” appears on the display. A new press on the VOX (7) key
disables the function, “VOX” disappears.

MENU (long press)
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu to be set.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate the selected menu. The
parameter of the menu blinks.
4. Press the s or t key (3) to change the parameter.
5. Press the MENU key (7). A short press to validate and stay in the
MENU or a long press to validate and exit the MENU.

6. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.

8) MONITOR ~ COMPANDER
MONITOR (short press)
This function allows to monitor the channel despite the squelch.
When the is active or when the level of the manual squelch
is high, press the MON key (8) to hear the active channel.
See § KEY LOCK page 16.
COMPANDER (long press)
Long press the key (8) to activate/deactivate the COM-
PANDER. When the COMPANDER is active, appears on the
LCD.
This switchable filter allows to improve the reception mode.
9) ANL/NB ~ HI-CUT
ANL/NB (short press)
Short press the ANL/NB key (9) to activate/deactivate the filters
in this order :
The activated filter is shown on the display.
ANL - Automatic Noise Limiter: This filter allows the reduction of
background noises and some reception interferences in AM
mode only.
NB - Noise Blanker: This filter allows the reduction of back ground
noise, and some reception interference.
HI-CUT (long press)
Long press the HI-CUT key (9) to activate/deactivate the HI-CUT
filter. “HIC” appears on the display when the filter is active.
Hi-Cut: Eliminates high frequency interferences. Has to be used
in accordance with the reception conditions.
10) AM/FM ~
AM/FM (short press)

This key allows you to select the modulation mode (AM or FM).
Your modulation mode has to correspond to the one of your
correspondent. Corresponding mode is displayed on the LCD.
- Amplitude Modulation / AM: communication on a field with relief
and obstacles at middle distance (the most used).
- Frequency Modulation / FM: for nearby communications on a
flat open field.
(long press)
- Turn on the unit.
- Long press the key (10) to switch on the flashlight. The status
blinks on the display.
- During 3 seconds quickly press the s or t key (3) to select be-
tween the 4 possible lights :
- After 3 seconds, long press the key (10) to switch off the
flashlight.
11) MANUAL SQUELCH- (short press)
Short press the SQ- key (11) to decrease the level of the manual
squelch.
12) MANUAL SQUELCH+ (short press)
Short press the SQ+ key (12) to increase the level of the manual
squelch.
Manual squelch: of / or 34 levels from to
11 + 12 ) ASC (Automatic Squelch Control)
Worldwide patent, a PRESIDENT exclusivity
ASC suppresses undesirable background noises when there is
no communication. Squelch does not affect neither sound nor
transmission power, but allows a considerable improvement in
listening comfort.
Press simultaneously the SQ- (11) and SQ+ (12) keys to activate/
deactivate the ASC function. appears on the display when
the function is active. No repetitive manual adjustment and a
permanent improvement between the sensitivity and the listening
comfort when ASC is active.

13) HI/LO TRANSMITTING POWER (short press)
Short press the HI/LO key (13) to alternate between high and
low transmitting power. “H” or “L” is displayed to indicate the
selected level. See ECO MODE page 18.
14) PTT SWITCH
Transmitting Mode (PTT switch pressed)
Press the PTT switch (14) to transmit. The LED (16) lights up red.
Receiving Mode (PTT switch released)
The LED (16) lights up green in receiving mode. You can hear the
signal on the speaker.
The bargraph indicates the emission (RF) or reception (S) level.
TOT (Time Out Timer)
If the PTT switch (14) is pressed longer than 3 minutes, the active
channel start blinking, the transmission ends.
The time-out tone will sound until the PTT switch (14) is released.

6 + 8) KEY LOCK (EMG + MON keys)
Long press simultaneously the EMG (6) and MON (8) keys to
activate/deactivate the KEY LOCK function. When the function
is active, “” appears on the display.

Default Color is (Orange).
2) ROGER BEEP
The Roger Beep sounds when the PTT switch (14) is released in
order to let your correspondent speak. Historically as transceiver
is a “simplex” communication mode, it is not possible to speak
and to listen at the same time (as it is the case with a telephone).
Once someone had finished talking, he said “Roger” to let his
correspondent know that it was his turn to talk. The word “Roger”
has been replaced by a significant beep. Which is where the
words “Roger beep” originate from. When the function is active,
the icon appears on the display.
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current value blinks.
4. Press the s or t key (3) to deactivate OF, or select between the
6 melodies for the ROGER BEEP from 01 to 06
5. Press the MENU key (7). A short press to validate and stay in the
MENU or a long press to validate and exit the MENU.
6. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.
Default value is OF.
3) KEY BEEP
When the function is activated, a beep sounds when a key is
pressed, by changing the channel etc. “BP” appears on the
display when the function is active.
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current value blinks.

4. Press the s or t key (3) to activate On or deactivate OF the KEY
BEEP function.

4) ECO MODE
This function allows to save your battery. The unit goes in standby
mode, LCD backlight off, RX in standby*, etc.
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current value blinks.
4. Press the s or t key (3) to deactivate OF the ECO MODE func-
tion or select between the 3 levels 01 (Low), 02 (Middle) and 03
(High).
5. Press the MENU key (7). A short press to validate and stay in the
MENU or a long press to validate and exit the MENU.
6. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.
Default value is 02 (Middle).
*Level 01: 250 ms RX active / 250 ms RX inactive
*Level 02: 250 ms RX active / 500 ms RX inactive
*Level 03: 250 ms RX active / 1 s RX inactive
Note: If level 03 is selected, the transmitting power automatically
changes to L (low). The H (high) power remains available but will
be reset to L if the device is switched off and then on again.

5) TONE
This function allows to adjust the reception tone.
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current value blinks.
4. Press the s or t key (3) to select between the 11 levels from -5
to 5.
5. Press the MENU key (7). A short press to validate and stay in the
MENU or a long press to validate and exit the MENU.

6. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.
Default value is 0.
6) EMG SETTING
This function allows to customise both emergency channels.
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. 1 blinks.
4. Press the s or t key (3) to select the emergency to be 1 or 2.
5. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current channel
blinks.
6. Press s or t key (3) to select the channel.
7. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current mode blinks.
8. Press s or t key (3) to select the modulation mode AM or FM.
9. Press the MENU key (7). A short press to validate and stay in the
MENU or a long press to validate and exit the MENU.
10. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.
The default priority channels are channel 9 AM (1) and channel
19 AM (2). See § EMG SET page 13.
7) VOX SETTING
Three parameters allow to adjust the VOX function: Sensitivity:
/ Anti-vox level: / Vox delay time: .
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current parameter
blinks ( , or ).
4a. Short press again the MENU key (7) to validate the parameter to
be set. The value of the parameter blinks or...
4b. Press s or t key (3) to select the next parameter. Short press the
MENU key (7) to validate.
5. Press the s or t key (3) to modify the value of the parameter.
6. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The current value of the
parameter stops blinking. The parameter is stored.
7. Repeat point 4 to 6 to adjust other parameters.
8. When all adjustments are done, press the MENU key (7). A short
press to validate and stay in the MENU or a long press to validate
and exit the MENU. If the KEY BEEP function is activated, a long

beep sounds to confirm the success of the operation (see § KEY
BEEP page 17).
9. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.
Sensitivity : allows the adjustment of the microphone (original one
or optional vox) for an optimum transmission quality. Adjustable
level from 01 (high level) to 09 (low level). Default value: 02.
- Anti-Vox : allows disabling the transmission generated by the
surrounding noise. The level is adjustable. OF (according the
squelch level) and from 00 (without anti-vox) to 09 (low level).
Default value: OF.
- Delay time : allows avoiding the sudden cut of the transmission
by adding a delay at the end of speaking. The level is adjustable
from 01 (short delay) to 09 (long delay). Default value: 01.
VOX SETTING doesn’t activate the VOX function.
8) DW (Dual Watch) SETTING
This function allows to customise the second channel scanned
by the DUAL WATCH function.
1. Long press the MENU key (7) to enter the MENU. appears on
the display.
2. Press the s or t key (3) to select the menu.
3. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The channel blinks.
4. Press the s or t key (3) to select the new channel to be watch.
5. Short press the MENU key (7) to validate. The mode blinks.
6. Press the s or t key (3) to select the modulation mode AM or
FM.
7. Press the MENU key (7). A short press to validate and stay in the
MENU or a long press to validate and exit the MENU.
8. If no key is pressed, the unit exits the MENU after 10 seconds
without saving the modifications.

J) HOW TO TRANSMIT OR RECEIVE A MESSAGE
Now that you have read the manual, make sure that your CB
Radio is ready for use (i.e. check that your antenna is connected).
Choose your channel (19, 27).
Press the “push-to-talk” switch (14) and announce your message
“Attention stations, transmission testing” which will allow you to
check the clearness and the power of your signal. Release the
switch and wait for a reply. You should receive a reply like, “Strong
and clear”.
If you use a calling channel (19, 27) and you have established
communication with someone, it is common practice to choose
another available channel so as not to block the calling channel.

This device is guaranteed 2 years parts and labour in its country of purchase
against any manufacturing defects validated by our technical department.
PRESIDENT After Sales Service department reserves the right not to apply the war-
ranty in the event a breakdown is caused by an antenna other than those distributed
by PRESIDENT. An extension of 3 years warranty is proposed systematically for the
simultaneous purchase of a device and an external mobile PRESIDENT antenna (this
does not include the flexible antenna S-20 (C2) for the RANDY II FCC unit), bringing
the total duration of the warranty to 5 years. In order to be valid, the warranty regis-
tration must be completed and submitted within a period of 30 days after the purchase
date to PRESIDENT ELECTRONICS online at

. You can also access this warranty registration page by
using your smartphone to read (application must be available) the QR code. You will
receive a confirmation email if the registration is successfully completed. Please keep

Any repair under warranty will be without charge and the return delivery costs will
be borne by PRESIDENT. A proof of purchase sales receipt must be included with
the device to be repaired. The dates listed on the warranty registration and proof of
purchase must match. In case the device is not under warranty, the repair and return
of the device will be charged.
No spare parts will be sent nor exchanged by PRESIDENT under warranty. Do not
proceed with the installation of the device without reading the user manual.
The warranty is only valid in the country of purchase.
Exclusions (not covered by Warranty):
• Damages caused by accident, shock or inadequate packaging.
• Batteries, power transistors, microphones, lights, fuses and the disrespect of the

neración. Esta nueva gama de estaciones le permite acceder a la

A) CONFIGURACIÓN MÓVIL
1) INSTALACIÓN DE ANTENA
- Retire la antena flexible (C2) del equipo.
- Reemplace la antena (C2) con el adaptador de antena (C3).
- Conecte la antena al adaptador de antena (C3).
a) Elección de la antena
- En CB, cuanto más grande es una antena, mejor es su rendimiento.
Su Centro de Asesoramiento sabrá orientarle en su elección.
b) Antena móvil
- Hay que instalarla en un lugar del vehículo donde haya un
máximo de superficie metálica (plano de masa), alejándose
de los montantes del parabrisas y de la luneta trasera.
- En caso de que se haya instalado una antena de radio-teléfono,
la antena CB debe estar por encima de ésta.
- Existen 2 tipos de antenas: las preajustadas y las regulables.
- Las preajustadas se utilizan preferentemente con un buen plano
de masa (en el techo o en el maletero).
- Las regulables ofrecen un campo de uso mucho más ancho y
permiten sacar partido de planos de masa menos importantes
(véase § 3 AJUSTE DE LA ROE).
- Para una antena de fijación por taladro, es necesario tener un
contacto excelente entre la antena y el plano de masa; para
ello, rasque ligeramente la chapa al nivel del tornillo y de la
estrella de presión.
- En el momento del paso del cable coaxial, tenga cuidado de
no pellizcarlo ni aplastarlo (riesgo de rotura o cortocircuito).
- Conecte la antena al adaptador (C3).
c) Antena fija
- Procure abrirla al máximo. En caso de fijación sobre un poste,
habrá que sostenerla eventualmente conforme a las normas

vigentes (infórmese con un profesional). Las antenas y los ac-
cesorios PRESIDENT han sido especialmente concebidos para
un rendimiento óptimo de todos los aparatos de la gama.

2) OPERACIONES DE BASE QUE HAY QUE EFECTUAR
ANTES DE LA PRIMERA UTILIZACIÓN, SIN PASAR
POR EMISIÓN (sin apretar la palanca del micro)
a) Verifique la conexión de la antena,
b) Puesta en marcha del aparato: gire la tecla del volumen VOL
(1) en el sentido de las agujas del reloj hasta oír un “clic”,
c) desactive el squelch. Véase § 11 y 12 página 39.
d) Ajuste el volumen (1) a un nivel conveniente,
e) Dirija la estación al canal 20 con ayuda de la tecla s o t (3).
3) AJUSTE DE LA ROE (Relación de Ondas Estacio-
narias)
ATENCIÓN: Esta operación debe efectuarse necesariamente
en el momento de la primera utilización del aparato o en el
momento de un cambio de antena. Este ajuste se debe realizar
en un lugar abierto, al aire libre.
* Ajustes con el medidor de ROE externo (tipo TOS-1 PRE-
SIDENT)
a) Empalme del medidor de ROE
- Conecte el medidor de ROE entre la estación y la antena, lo
más cerca posible de la estación (utilice para ello un cable de
40 cm (15,75 pulgadas) máximo tipo CA-2C PRESIDENT).
b) Ajuste de la ROE
- Posicione la estación hacia el canal 20.
- Sitúe el conmutador del medidor de ROE en posición FWD (ca-
libración).

- Apriete la palanca PTT (14) del micro para pasar a emisión.
- Dirija la aguja al índice t con ayuda de la ruleta de calibración.
- Ponga el conmutador en posición REF (lectura del valor de la ROE). El
valor leído en el indicador debe estar muy cerca de 1. En caso con-
trario, reajuste su antena hasta obtener un valor lo más cerca posible
a 1 (puede aceptarse un valor de la ROE comprendido entre 1 y 1,8).
- Es necesario recalibrar el medidor de ROE entre cada operación
de ajuste de la antena.
Observación: Con el fin de evitar las pérdidas y las atenuacio-
nes en los cables de conexión entre la radio y sus accesorios,
PRESIDENT recomienda una longitud de cable inferior a 3m
(118,11 pulgadas).
Ahora, su equipo está preparado para funcionar.

4) CB/WX ~ ALERT
CB/WX (presión breve)
Apriete brevemente la tecla CB/WX (4) para alternar entre el
modo CB o WX (canales meteorológicos). “WX” aparece en la
pantalla si el modo WX está activo.
Modo WX (canal meteorológico)
Las funciones CB no están permitidas en modo WX.
El modo WX le permite escuchar información meteorológica.
Cuando el modo está activado, use la tecla s o t (3) para
moverse a través de los 7 canales meteorológicos y encontrar
el canal activo en su área local. Ver tabla página 55.
La pantalla muestra el canal meteorológico seleccionado y, si
el equipo recibe una señal, aparece el icono .
ALERT (presión larga)
Esta función solo funciona en modo CB. No funciona en modo
WX.
Mantenga presionada la tecla ALERT (4) durante 1 segundo
para activar/desactivar la función ALERT. Cuando la función
está activada y se detecta un tono en el canal meteorológico
seleccionado, la unidad emite una alerta “sirena”. “ALERT” y
el Canal WX parpadean en la pantalla. La unidad cancela el
modo CB y pasa al modo WX.
Mientras suena la “sirena”, presione cualquier tecla para dete-
ner el sonido, “ALERT” y el Canal WX dejan de parpadear en la
pantalla.
Nota: La “sirena” suena cuando se detecta una alerta solo en
el canal meteorológico seleccionado. Use primero la función
SCAN en modo WX (véase § Barrido de los canales meteoroló-
gicos página 36) para detectar alertas en todos los canales
meteorológicos.

5) SCAN ~ SKIP ~ DW
SCAN (Barrido de los canales) (presión breve)
Apriete brevemente la tecla SCAN (5) para activar la función
SCAN (barrido de los canales). Apriete la tecla s (3) para esca-
near en orden ascendente. Apriete la tecla t (3) para escanear
en orden descendente.
El barrido se para tan pronto como un canal esté activo. El barrido
se pone en marcha automáticamente 5 segundos después del
fin de la emisión si no se activa ningún botón durante este tiempo.
El barrido también se reinicia en orden ascendente presionando
la tecla s (3), o en orden descendente presionando la tecla t
(3).
Cuando la función SCAN está activada, “SCAN” parpadea en
la pantalla.
Barrido de los canales CB
En el modo CB (véase el § CB/WX página 35) la función SCAN
barre los 40 canales.
Barrido de los canales meteorológicos
En el modo WX (véase el § CB/WX página 35) la función SCAN
barre los 7 canales meteorológicos.
Nota: El barrido de los canales meteorológicos puede ejecutarse
en segundo plano mientras se usa el equipo en modo CB.
Apriete la palanca PTT (14) para desactivar la función SCAN.

SKIP (presión larga solo durante la función SCAN)
Esta función le permite saltar (SKIP) un canal encontrado por la
función SCAN. Cuando la búsqueda se detiene en un canal no
deseado, presione y mantenga presionada la tecla SCAN (5)
durante 1 segundo para almacenar este canal en la memoria
SCAN SKIP. Suena un pitido. El canal ya no se escaneará.

DW (Doble escucha) (presión larga)
Apriete la tecla DW (5) para activar la función DW. Le permite
alternar entre el canal activo y un segundo canal (ajustable).
Cuando la función está activa, aparece “DW” en la pantalla.
Apriete la palanca PTT (14) para abandonar de la función DW.

6) EMG ~ EMG SET (Canales de Emergencia)
EMG (presión breve)
El canal de emergencia se selecciona automáticamente cuando
presiona la tecla EMG (6). Apriete brevemente para llamar el
primer canal prioritario personalizable. Segunda presión breve
para llamar al segundo canal prioritario personalizable. “EMG”
aparece en la pantalla cuando se activa un canal prioritario.
Tercera presión breve para volver al canal inicial. “EMG” desa-
parece de la pantalla.

EMG SET (presión larga)
Los canales prioritarios se pueden asignar a cualquier canal.
Para definir un nuevo canal prioritario:
1. Apriete brevemente la tecla EMG (6) hasta que seleccione el

7) VOX ~ MENU
VOX (presión breve)
La función VOX le permite transmitir hablando al micrófono ori-
ginal (o al micrófono opcional de voz) sin presionar la palanca
PTT (14). El uso de un micrófono vox opcional conectado a la
toma (A) desactiva el micrófono original.
Apriete brevemente la tecla VOX (7) para activar la función
VOX. “VOX” aparece en la pantalla. Al presionar la tecla VOX
(7) nuevamente se desactiva la función, “VOX” desaparece.

Esta función le permite la escucha de un canal a pesar del
squelch.
Cuando el ASC está activo o el nivel de squelch manual es alto,
presione la tecla MON (8) para escuchar el canal activo.

COMPANDER (presión larga)
Apriete la tecla MON (8) durante 1 segundo para activar / des-
activar el COMPANDER. Cuando el COMPANDER está activo,
aparece en la pantalla.
Este filtro conmutable mejora el modo de recepción.
9) ANL/NB ~ HI-CUT
ANL/NB (presión breve)
Apriete brevemente la tecla ANL/NB (9) para activar/desactivar
los filtros en este orden:
El filtro activado se muestra en la pantalla.
ANL - Limitador automático de ruido: este filtro reduce el ruido de
fondo y ciertas interferencias de recepción solo en el modo AM.

HI-CUT (presión larga)
Apriete largamente la tecla HI-CUT (9) para activar/desactivar
el filtro HI-CUT. “HIC” aparece en la pantalla cuando el filtro está
activo.
HI-CUT: elimina las interferencias de alta frecuencia y se debe
utilizar de acuerdo con las condiciones de recepción.
10) AM/FM ~
AM/FM (presión breve)
Este interruptor selecciona el modo de modulación (AM o FM).
Su modo de modulación debe coincidir con el de su interlocutor.
- Modulación de amplitud/ AM: Comunicación sobre el terreno
con relieves y obstáculos a media distancia (el más utilizado).
- Modulación de Frecuencia/FM: Comunicación cercana en
terreno llano y libre.

- Encienda el equipo.
- Apriete la tecla (10) durante 1 segundo para encender la
linterna. El estado parpadea en la pantalla.
- Durante 3 segundos, apriete rápidamente la tecla s o t (3)
para seleccionar entre las 4 luces posibles:
- Despues los 3 segundos, apriete la tecla (10) durante 1
segundo para apagar la linterna.
11) SQUELCH MANUAL SQ- (presión breve)
Apriete la tecla SQ- (11) para disminuir el nivel del squelch ma-

La función ASC elimina el ruido de fondo no deseado cuando
no hay comunicación. La recepción no se ve afectada, ni la
potencia de transmisión, el ASC consigue una considerable
comodidad auditiva.
Apriete las teclas SQ- (11) y SQ+ (12) simultáneamente para
activar/desactivar la función ASC. Aparece en la pantalla
cuando la función está activada. Evita los ajustes manuales re-
petitivos y permite una mejora permanente entre la sensibilidad
y la comodidad auditiva cuando el ASC está activo.
13) HI/LO POTENCIA DE EMISIÓN (presión breve)
Apriete la tecla HI/LO (13) para alternar entre alta y baja poten-
cia de transmisión. Se muestra “H” (high - alta) o “L” (low - baja)
para indicar el nivel seleccionado. Véase el menú MODO ECO
página 42.
14) PALANCA DE EMISIÓN PTT
Modo de Emisión (palanca PTT presionada)
Apriete la palanca PTT (14) para emitir. El LED (16) se ilumina en
rojo.
Modo de Recepción (palanca PTT liberada)
El LED (16) se ilumina en verde en el modo de recepción. La
señal se puede escuchar a través del altavoz.
El gráfico de barras indica el nivel de transmisión (RF) o recepción
(S).
TOT (temporizador de tiempo de espera)
Si la palanca PTT (14) se presiona durante más de 3 minutos, el
canal comienza a parpadear y la transmisión se termina.
El tono TOT suena hasta que se suelta la palanca PTT (14).

2) ROGER BEEP
El ROGER BEEP emite un pitido cuando se suelta la palanca PTT
(14) para dejarle la palabra a su interlocutor. Históricamente, al
ser la CB un modo de comunicación “simplex”, es decir que no
es posible hablar y escuchar al mismo tiempo (como en el caso
del teléfono por ejemplo), era usual decir “Roger” cuando se
había terminado de hablar para avisar al interlocutor que ya
podía hablar. La palabra “Roger” ha sido reemplazada por un
“beep” significativo, de ahí su nombre “Roger Beep”. Cuando
la función está activa, aparece en la pantalla.

8. Cuando se hayan realizado todos los ajustes, apriete la tecla
MENU (7). Una presión breve para validar y permanecer en los
MENÚS o una presión larga para validar y salir de los MENÚS. Si
la función BEEP DE TECLADO está activada, suena un beep largo
para confirmar el éxito de la operación (véase el menú BEEP DE
TECLADO página 42).
9. Si no se presiona ninguna tecla, el equipo abandona los MENÚS

- Sensibilidad
: le permite ajustar la sensibilidad del micrófono
(vox original o opcional) para una calidad de transmisión óp-
tima. Nivel ajustable de 01 (nivel alto) a 09 (nivel bajo). Valor
predeterminado: 02.
- Anti-Vox
: evita la emisión generada por el ruido ambiental. Nivel
ajustable: OF (se emite según el nivel del silenciador) y desde 00
(sin anti-vox) hasta 09 (nivel bajo). Valor predeterminado: OF.

- Retraso : permite evitar la interrupción brusca de la transmisión
al agregar un retraso al final del discurso. Nivel ajustable de 01
(retraso corto) a 09 (retraso largo). Valor predeterminado: 01.

8) AJUSTE LA FUNCIÓN DW (Doble Escucha)

I) GUÍA DE PROBLEMAS
1) LA EMISORA NO EMITE O VUESTRA EMISIÓN ES DE
MALA CALIDAD

J) COMO EMITIR O RECIBIR UN MENSAJE
Ahora que ha leído la nota de aviso, asegure que su emisora
esté lista para las instrucciones de funcionamiento (antena
conectada).
Elija el canal (19 o 27).
Puede entonces apretar sobre la palanca PTT (14), y lanzar el
mensaje “atención estaciones, ensayo de emisora”, lo que
permite verificar la claridad y la potencia de su señal y debe
provocar una contestación de tipo: “fuerte y claro la estación”.
Suelte la palanca y espere una contestación. Si utiliza un canal
de llamada (19 o 27), y la comunicación se establece, es preciso
elegir otro canal disponible para no obstruir el canal de llamada.
K) GLOSARIO
Durante la utilización de su emisora, descubrirán un lenguaje
particular empleado por algunos cebeistas. Para ayudarles a
entenderlo mejor, le damos, en el léxico y el código «Q», un re-

CONDICIONES GENERALES DE GARANTÍA
Este aparato tiene una garantía de 2 años de piezas y mano de obra en el país
de compra, contra cualquier vicio o defecto de fabricación que sea reconocido por
nuestro departamento técnico. El laboratorio del SPV de PRESIDENT se reserva el
derecho de no aplicar la garantía si una avería ha sido provocada por una antena no
distribuida por la marca PRESIDENT. Una extensión de garantía de 3 años se aplicará
sistemáticamente, por la compra simultánea de una emisora y de una antena externa
móvil de la marca PRESIDENT (esto no incluye la antena flexible S-20 (C2) que se
entrega con el equipo RANDY II FCC), aumentando la garantía total a 5 años. Para
ser válido, el registro de la garantía debe ser completado y enviado dentro de los
30 días siguientes a la compra para PRESIDENT al www.president-electonics.us/
warranty-registration. También puede acceder a esta página de registro de garantía
utilizando su teléfono inteligente para leer (la aplicación debe estar disponible) el
código QR. Usted recibirá un correo electrónico de confirmación si el registro se ha
realizado correctamente. Le recomendamos que guarde una copia de este correo
electrónico.
Cualquier reparación en garantía será gratis y los gastos de envío de vuelta correrán
a cargo de PRESIDENT. La prueba de compra y factura de venta deben ser obligato-
riamente adjuntas al aparato cuando se envíe para su reparación. Las fechas inscritas
en el resguardo de garantía y la prueba de compra deben concordar. En caso de que
la unidad está fuera de garantía, se le cobrará la reparación y devolución del aparato.
Ninguna pieza de recambio será enviada, por nuestro departamento técnico, en
base a la garantía.

La garantía sólo es válida en el país de compra.
Esta garantía no cubre:
• Los daños causados por accidente, como golpes, caídas, incendios, embalaje
inadecuado, negligencia o mantenimiento inadecuado.
• El desgaste normal de un producto (baterías, transistores de potencia, micrófonos,
luces, fusibles), el uso indebido (incluyendo la antena utilizada, demasiada ROE,
polaridad inversa, malas conexiones, sobre-tensión, etc.), y si no se siguen la
características de instalación y el uso.
• La garantía no puede extenderse debido a la falta de disponibilidad del equipo,
mientras está siendo reparado en el SPV PRESIDENT, ni por un cambio de uno o
más componentes o piezas de repuesto.

Si Ud. observa defectos de funcionamiento:
• Compruebe la alimentación de su aparato y el estado del fusible.

• Compruebe que el nivel des squelch esté configurado correctamente.
• En caso de un fallo de funcionamiento real, por favor póngase en contacto con su
distribuidor en primer lugar, que decidirá qué medidas tomar.
En caso de una intervención no cubierta por la garantía o fuera del plazo, usted tendrá
posibilidad de hacer inspeccionar o reparar su producto. Se hará un presupuesto
previo por escrito para su posterior aceptación.

Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate
using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the
