Welcome to the CYBEX family,

Thank you for purchasing the CYBEX Cloud Q. We are proud to

bring this German engineered product to United States. We hope

the Cloud Q will make your child’s travel both safer and more

pleasant, as well as make installation and use for you as simple as

possible. The award winning Cloud Q brings a few important safety

innovations to the infant car seat category.

Front Impact Protection

The European style Load Leg prevents the seat from rotating

forward, allowing the seat to perfectly support the baby’s head,

neck, and body. It also transfers much of the energy to the vehicle’s

oor, decreasing forces on your baby up to 50%!

CYBEX Linear Side-impact Protection (LSP) System

A unique telescoping blocker arm, combined with deep side wings

lined with thick energy-absorbing EPS foam and an adjustable

headrest creates the CYBEX LSP System. This system has been

optimized to protect and greatly reduce any forces on your baby in the

event of a side impact crash.

Full Recline Backrest

A new function of the Cloud Q is that it can be changed to a full

recline position when used outside of the car. With an extended

leg-rest and a fully reclining backrest, the child can lie comfortably

and in an ergonomically correct position when used as a travel

system or in the home. Works perfect together with CYBEX Priam

and M-Strollers.

Statistics show that over 72% of car seats are being used

incorrectly!

Please read and follow these instructions carefully to install the

Cloud Q correctly, even if the installation and use of this infant car

seat might seem simple and intuitive.

Before the rst use of the Cloud Q infant car seat, please make

sure you have followed all the steps in the Safety Checklist and

CYBEX Safe Practices found on page 47.

Following the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendations

for safe transportation of infants, we recommend keeping your

child rear facing in a properly installed rear facing car seat

until they are at least two (2) years of age or outgrow the

maximum weight or height for the seat. Visit www.aap.org for

more information on the Academy's recommendation.

No car seat can guarantee protection from injury in every situation,

but proper use helps reduce the risk of death or serious injury.

• DO NOT ALLOW others to install

or use this child restraint unless they

understand how to correctly install and

use it.

• ONLY PLACE this child restraint

REAR FACING in a vehicle seating

location allowed by the vehicle

manufacturer. Refer to your vehicle's

Owner’s Manual

for information about

vehicle seat belt systems, air bags, and

child restraint installations, to determine

allowable seating positions.

• Not every location within a vehicle

may be safe for the installation of this

child restraint. In fact, some vehicles

have no seating position that is safe for

the installation of an Infant Car Seat.

IMPROPER PLACEMENT of this child

restraint within a vehicle will increase the

risk of death or serious injury.

• Based on crash statistics, the National

Highway Trafc Safety Administration

(NHTSA) recommends that parents

select the REAR SEAT as the safest

location for a properly installed child

restraint.

• The primary protection for occupants

of a vehicle in a collision is the structure

WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur

of the vehicle itself; a child restraint will

not protect a child when the vehicle

is seriously impacted. CORRECTLY

USED, this child restraint will

substantially improve the chances for

survival in most crashes.

WHEN USED INSIDE A VEHICLE

• ONLY USE with children who weigh

between 4 and 35 lb (1.8 and 15.9 kg)

AND whose height is 30 inches (76 cm)

or less.

• DO NOT USE this child restraint if the

top of your child's head is LESS THAN

1 inch (2.5 cm) from the top of the

restraint.

• NEVER place this child restraint on a

front seat with an active airbag. DEATH

or SERIOUS INJURY may occur.

The REAR seat is the safest place for

children 12 and under.

• ONLY USE this child restraint REAR

FACING.

• NEVER INSTALL this child restraint in

vehicle seats that face the rear or side of

the vehicle.

• NEVER INSTALL this child restraint

in a vehicle when the carrier is in the

RECLINED POSITION.

• ALWAYS CHECK the Harness buckle

to make sure it is securely latched.

• ALWAYS KEEP your child properly

secured in the Harness. A snug strap

should not allow any slack. It lies in a

relatively straight line without sagging.

It does not press on the child’s esh or

push the child’s body into an unnatural

position.

• NEVER LEAVE your child

UNATTENDED or alone in the vehicle,

WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur

even for one minute.

• ALWAYS have the handle LOCKED

in the DRIVE POSITION towards the

back of the vehicle while using this child

restraint in a vehicle.

• WHENEVER POSSIBLE, INSTALL

the Load Leg Base US in a seating

position that will allow the Load Leg to

be extended into a LOCKED position

making rm contact with the vehicle

oor.

• NEVER INSTALL the Load Leg Base

US in a seating position where the Load

Leg, even in its shortest position, causes

the base to be pushed up above the

vehicle seat. If necessary, the base may

be installed with the Load Leg folded up

underneath.

• If using a base, ALWAYS CHECK to

make sure the Infant Carrier is securely

attached to the Load Leg Base US,

each time you use this restraint. After

attaching the Infant Carrier to the base,

LIFT UP on the Infant Carrier handle to

make sure that it is securely attached to

the base.

• If using a base, ONLY USE with the

Load Leg Base US.

• ALWAYS USE a Linear Side-impact

Protection (L.S.P.) device on the side of

the child restraint immediately adjacent

to a vehicle door or panel.

• NEVER EXTEND a Linear Side-impact

Protection (L.S.P.) device toward a

passenger or another child restraint.

• NEVER USE this child restraint in a

vehicle seating position where it cannot

be secured tightly. A loosely installed

child restraint will NOT PROTECT your

child in a crash.

WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur

• NEVER LEAVE a vehicle seat back

with a folding mechanism unlocked. In

the event of a sudden stop, an unlocked

vehicle seat back could prevent this child

restraint from protecting your child as

well as it should.

• NEVER USE this child restraint with

any motorized, or door mounted vehicle

seat belts. Your child restraint would not

be properly restrained in the event of a

crash.

• NEVER USE this child restraint on

boats, low speed vehicles (LSV),

all-terrain vehicles (ATV), golf carts, or

any other non-certied application.

• BEFORE each use, ALWAYS CHECK

that the child restraint is tightly secured

in the vehicle seat and does not move

more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) in any

direction when checked at the belt path.

• ALWAYS CHECK buckles and other

parts for hot surfaces. A hot surface

could burn your child! Cover an

unoccupied child restraint with a blanket

when leaving it in a vehicle exposed to

sunlight.

• NEVER LEAVE an empty child

restraint unsecured in your vehicle.

This restraint MUST ALWAYS BE

SECURED, even when not occupied.

An unsecured child restraint could injure

vehicle occupants in a sudden stop or

crash.

• If the LATCH connectors are NOT

BEING USED make sure they are

securely stored.

• DO NOT USE this child restraint if

it has been in a crash. There may be

hidden damage and it must be replaced.

Your insurance company may provide

some assistance in replacing the child

WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur

restraint.

• NEVER USE this child restraint when

it is older than six (6) years. The date

of manufacture can be found on a

label afxed to the bottom of the Infant

Carrier, as well as the Base.

• NEVER USE this child restraint if any

of the Harness or LATCH straps are cut,

frayed, or damaged in any way.

• NEVER USE accessories or

parts with this child restraint other

than those approved by CYBEX.

Use of accessories or parts from

other manufacturers could alter the

performance of the child restraint.

• DO NOT USE this child restraint with

inatable seat belts.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER

OUTSIDE A VEHICLE

• NEVER leave child unattended.

• SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Infant

carrier can roll over on soft surfaces

and suffocate child. NEVER place Infant

Carrier on beds, sofas, or other soft

surfaces.

• FALL HAZARD: Child’s activity can

move carrier. NEVER place carrier

on counter tops, tables, or any other

elevated surfaces.

• ALWAYS USE the complete and

buckled ve-point Harness around your

child.

• ALWAYS KEEP your child properly

secured in the Harness, even when

using the carrier outside of the vehicle,

especially when in the full recline

position.

WARNING! DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur

• DO NOT USE the infant carrier if it is

damaged or broken.

• NEVER PLACE Infant Carrier on top of

a shopping cart.

• MAKE SURE the handle is LOCKED

in the CARRY POSITION before lifting

Infant Carrier by the handle. An unlocked

handle could move unexpectedly,

causing child to fall.

• ONLY USE Infant Carrier with strollers

that are approved by the manufacturer.

• ALWAYS LOCK an unoccupied vehicle,

even in the garage. Children can get into

vehicle and accidentally lock themselves

in, resulting in DEATH or SERIOUS

INJURY by hyperthermia.

quick and secure installation

every time, whether you

choose to use LATCH or

STEEL CHASSIS

The Steel Chassis is a continuous

metal frame integrated into the

Base from front to back. It

provides strength, a secure

connection between the Infant

Carrier and Base. It also

absorbs crash forces from the

Load Leg.

UNIQUE FEATURES OF THE CLOUD Q

• WEIGHT IS BETWEEN 4—35 LB (1.8—15.9 KG)

Use the CYBEX Cloud Q until your child reaches the maximum weight or height limits. Because not

all children have the same shapes and sizes, DO NOT USE the Cloud Q when the top of the child's

head is less than 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the top of the Infant Carrier. This allows for proper protection

during a crash.

After your child outgrows the Cloud Q, keep your child rear-facing in a convertible seat as long as the

seat allows, according to the manufacturer's specications, before turning them around to ride

Forward Facing.

DO NOT USE THIS CHILD RESTRAINT IF YOUR CHILD

DOES NOT MEET ALL OF THESE REQUIREMENTS:

CHILD SIZE REQUIREMENTS

HARNESS BUCKLE

To release Buckle Tongues, rmly press the red button on the

Harness Buckle and pull the tongues out.

To fasten, insert each Tongue into Buckle, listening for an

audible CLICK. Pull on each to verify a secure connection.

Check that the Buckle functions properly and is kept free of dirt and debris.

For cleaning, see page 45.

CHEST CLIP

To separate Chest Clip, squeeze top and bottom tabs and pull

apart. To fasten, slide the two parts together until an audible CLICK

is heard.

Always position the center of the Chest Clip even with the child's armpits.

ONE HANDED HARNESS ADJUSTMENT

Loosen Harness by rmly pressing down the Harness Adjustment

Button

while pulling forward on both straps

at shoulder level.

Pull the Adjuster Strap

to tighten the Shoulder Straps.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER

HANDLE POSITIONS

The Handle has six LOCKED positions:

1. DRIVE position

2. INTERMEDIATE position

3. CARRY position

4. INTERMEDIATE position

5. INTERMEDIATE position

6. RESTING position

To move handle to a new position, squeeze BOTH Handle

Adjustment Buttons

(one on each side) while rotating handle

BOTH Adjustment Buttons must be depressed at the same time in

order for the handle to move.

INTEGRATED CANOPY

Simply pull forward to extend the Cloud Q Canopy. The Canopy has

four positions.

To retract the Canopy, gently push it back into its original position.

ALWAYS have the handle locked in the DRIVE position

while using this child restraint in a vehicle.

ALWAYS verify that the handle is LOCKED in the carry

position before lifting Infant Carrier by the handle. An

unlocked handle could move unexpectedly, causing

child to fall out.

ALWAYS keep your child properly secured in the

Harness even when using the carrier outside of the

vehicle.

NEVER hang toys or other objects from handle when

using child restraint in a vehicle as they could seriously

injure a child in a sudden stop or crash.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER

ADJUSTING THE SEAT

The seat has a headrest that automatically adjusts the harness

height without the need to rethread it. The car seat may be

adjusted up and down through eleven positions to perfectly t

your baby.

The Cloud Q is shipped in the lowest position with the Infant

Insert already in position.

1. Unbuckle the Harness and Chest Clip

2. Place the child in the Infant Carrier, making sure

the buttocks are sitting in the very bottom of the

seat, with their crotch at the crotch strap.

3. Adjust for your baby by pulling up on the gray

plastic No Rethread Harness Adjuster while

sliding the seat up until the Harness Slots are even

with or slightly below your child's shoulders.

Regularly check for proper harness height as your child grows.

INFANT INSERT

The Infant insert will help provide a better harness t for smaller

babies, as well as stability for the torso.

We recommend using the Infant Insert until the baby weighs about

11 lbs. (5 kg) or about 3 months.

For proper use of the Infant Carrier, the Harness

shoulder straps MUST be AT or just BELOW your child's

shoulders.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER

SECURING THE CHILD

1. Loosen Harness by rmly pressing down on

the Harness Adjustment Button

while pulling

forward on both straps at shoulder level.

2. Press red button on Harness Buckle to release Tongues.

3. Separate Chest Clip and spread straps apart. Place child

in Infant Carrier in seated position making sure their

bottom is in the seat, and their back is fully supported.

4. Pull Harness straps over each arm onto shoulders

and around the hips. Make sure Buckle Pad and

Harness Buckle are between the legs.

Newborns tend to draw arms and legs close to their bodies. Gently extend

each limb to allow for proper Harness positioning. Be mindful of especially

sensitive areas (e.g. bellybuttons, circumcisions).

5. Buckle by inserting one Tongue at a time into the

Harness Buckle listening for an audible CLICK with each

one. Make sure Harness Straps are not twisted.

6. Connect the Chest Clip listening for an audible CLICK.

CLICK!

MAKE SURE Harness straps are AT or just BELOW

child's shoulders. If not, refer to page 19.

ALWAYS check Harness Buckle to make sure it is

securely latched. Failure to fasten and tighten the

Harness system correctly with each use can result in

DEATH or serious injury.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER

7. Pull up on Harness Straps to snug around the child's

hips while holding the Harness Buckle in place.

8. Slowly pull the adjuster strap to tighten the Shoulder Straps.

A snug strap should not allow any slack. It lies in a relatively

straight line without sagging. It does not press on the child’s

esh or push the child’s body into an unnatural position.

9. Position the center of the Chest Clip even with the

child's armpits. Make sure the Shoulder Pads do not

interfere with the placement of the Chest Clip.

If the Shoulder Pads don't allow a proper t,they can be removed to

provide more space for the Chest Clip. Unsnap to remove.

10. Harness Pinch Test. To test for a properly tightened

Harness, pinch the shoulder strap. A snug Harness

should not allow you to pinch any slack when pinched

between your thumb and forenger. If needed, pull

adjuster strap further for a tight and proper t.

To keep child warm, place a blanket over child and Infant Carrier, AFTER

you have properly secured and tightened Harness around your child.

ALWAYS KEEP child properly secured in Harness.

NEVER SECURE child in Infant Carrier dressed in a

bulky garment or heavy clothing.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER

ADJUSTING THE RECLINE POSITION

A new function of the Cloud Q is that it can be reclined to an almost

horizontal position outside of the car. With an extended leg-rest

and a fully reclined backrest, the child can lie comfortably and in an

ergonomically correct position.

The recline angle can be adjusted easily with one hand without

having to take the child out of the carrier, and the handle remains in

the carrying position for easier mobility.

1. While holding one hand on the handle, simply squeeze

the Recline Release Handle and push the seatback

down until it locks into the full recline position.

In the reclined position a red blocker closes off the lap belt

guide to indicate that it is not allowed to use the carrier in a

vehicle when the carrier is reclined.

2. To get back to Car Seat Mode simply squeeze

the Recline Relase Handle and lift backrest up

until it locks into the upright position.

Combined with the CYBEX Priam and M-strollers the Cloud Q

becomes a both striking and very practical travel system.

The REAR seat is the safest place for children 12 and

under.

Based on crash statistics, the National Highway Trafc

Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends that parents select the REAR

SEAT as the safest location for a properly installed child restraint rather than

a front seating position.

ONLY PLACE this child restraint REAR FACING in a vehicle seating

location allowed by the vehicle manufacturer. Refer to your vehicle Owner’s

Manual for information about vehicle seat belt systems, air bags, and

child restraint installation to determine allowable seating positions.

If possible, INSTALL the Load Leg Base US in a seating position that will

allow the Load Leg Foot to be extended into a LOCKED position making

rm contact with the vehicle oor.

NEVER INSTALL the Load Leg Base US in a seating position where the

Load Leg, even in its shortest position, causes the Base to be pushed up

above the vehicle seat. If necessary, the Base may be installed with the

Load Leg folded up underneath.

The REAR SEAT is the safest location for a properly installed child restraint.

The design and operation of vehicle seat belt systems vary from vehicle to vehicle and from seating location to

seating location in the same vehicle. Refer to your vehicle Owner’s Manual

for proper use, placement, and

adjustment of the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belts.

NEVER INSTALL THIS CHILD RESTRAINT WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING VEHICLE BELTS:

• A lap belt with a motorized shoulder belt

• Vehicle belts that are attached to the door in any way, or that move along a track automatically to restrain the

passenger when the door is closed

• Lap belts with an Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR).

These lap belts stay loose and can move until locking in a crash or sudden stop.

• Combination Lap/Shoulder Belt with Two ELR Retractors.

Lap-shoulder belts that have a separate non-locking retractor each for the lap section and the shoulder section.

• Lap belts forward of the seat crease, or bight.

• Inatable Seat Belts

The Cloud Q is allowed to touch the vehicle seat(s) in front of it, as long the recline angle of the Cloud Q is not affected.

The best position for the child restraint is one that is recommended by your vehicle Owner’s Manual, AND allows a proper and

secure installation of the restraint every time. If possible, have an adult ride in the rear with the child in order to monitor the child.

VEHICLE SEAT LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

WHAT IS LATCH?

LATCH is an acronym for Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren

and refers to a pair of xed Lower Anchors (or bars) and a Top

Tether anchor that are built into your vehicle.

The lower LATCH anchors are located in the crease, or bight,

between the vehicle seat back and seat cushion, and if not visible,

will typically be indicated by

symbols. Top tether anchors are

located in various places behind the seat. Top tethers are not

required on infant car seats like the Cloud Q.

Is it safer?

LATCH typically offers an easier and more consistent installation.

However, this child restraint can be safely installed using either

LATCH or vehicle belts. Either method is safe for your child when

installed correctly.

LATCH is standard in vehicles manufactured after September 1,

2002. Refer to your vehicle Owner’s Manual

for lower LATCH

anchor positions in your vehicle.

OUTER SEATING POSITIONS

Use the lower LATCH anchors OR a vehicle seat belt to install the

child restraint in outboard seating positions (those on either side of

the center position)

NEVER use LATCH together with the vehicle belts to

install this child restraint. Using both is not approved

and may cause improper performance of the child

restraint.

USING LATCH

CENTER SEATING POSITIONS

If your vehicle does not have Lower Anchors in the center seating

position, check your Vehicle Owner’s Manual to see if you are

allowed to use the two inner Lower Anchors from the outboard

seating positions to install a Child Restraint.

CYBEX allows this child restraint to be installed using the two inner

Lower Anchors from the outboard seating positions if the distance

between the inner Lower Anchors is between 11 and 20 inches

(28-51 cm) AND if your vehicle manufacturer allows it. (If distance

is not correct and/or not allowed by vehicle manufacturer, use the

vehicle belt for installation in the center position.)

When using the inner Lower Anchors make sure there are no

obstructions from a buckle stalk for the installation or that the

LATCH straps or mini connectors do not block vehicle belt buckles.

Make sure there is enough height to use the Load Leg in the Center

Seating Position. Many vehicles have a hump in the oor that could

cause the Load Leg, even its shortest position, to push the Base

above the vehicle seat. See page 28.

USING LATCH GUIDES

1. Locate the lower LATCH anchors or the

symbols indicating their location.

2. If the lower LATCH anchors are hidden behind the crease

between the seat back and seat cushion, install the

supplied LATCH Guides to the lower LATCH anchors

for easier installation of the Load Leg Base US.

3. To install, connect the two LATCH Guides to the two

lower LATCH anchors by sliding the LATCH Guides into

the crease and under the lower LATCH anchors.

USING LATCH

TO REMOVE FROM STORAGE

To install the Base using LATCH, the Connectors must be

removed from their storage compartments.

1. To access the LATCH Connector Storage compartments, squeeze

the Level Adjustment Handle to fully extend the Leveling Foot.

2. Remove each connector by pushing the

red button while pulling out.

3. Lengthen the strap between the connectors using the LATCH

Strap Adjuster located next to the connector on the right-hand

side. Push down on the Adjuster button while lengthening strap.

TO STORE

When using a vehicle belt to secure the Base, the LATCH

Connectors MUST be stored in the Base. Loose Connectors

could seriously injure vehicle occupants in the event of a crash.

1. Fully extend the Leveling Foot and fully extend

the latch strap. Slide each connector back into its

Storage slot until an audible CLICK is heard.

2. Close and Lock the Belt Tensioning Plate.

3. Remove most of the slack from the LATCH strap

by pulling on the LATCH Strap Tensioning Loop

until it lays at on the bottom of the base.

Do not remove more slack from the LATCH Strap than necessary to

allow it to lie at on the bottom of the Base between the Belt Guides.

4. Retract the Leveling Foot by squeezing the Level

Adjustment Handle and pushing in the Leveling Foot.

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the Latch Strap when storing,

as this will interfere with the Belt Tensioning Plate

when installing the Base using vehicle belts.

REMOVING AND STORING LATCH CONNECTORS

The Load Leg is an effective safety feature of the Cloud Q and

using it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. However, if necessary

(e.g. in a center position with a hump in the oor), the Base may

be installed with the Load Leg folded up underneath the Base. If

ALL installation requirements for the Load Leg cannot be met,

you MUST choose another seating position, or install the Infant

Carrier without the Base.

TO EXTEND

1. Install the Base making sure Recline Angle is

correct for your child. See page 29.

2. Squeeze the Adjustment Handle on the Load Leg and

extend the Foot until it rests on the vehicle oor.

3. Secure the Foot into place using the rst hole that will lock it rmly

against the vehicle oor without lifting the Base up off of the seat.

It may be necessary to lift up slightly on the Base to allow the Foot to

lock into the hole.

hole that will lock it rmly against the vehicle oor.

USING THE LOAD LEG

It is very important for your child's safety that this child

restraint be installed at the correct recline angle. Before

attaching the Infant Carrier to the Base, always check the Level

Indicator for the correct recline angle range based on your

child's weight.

Vehicle must be on a level surface for the Level Indicator to function

correctly.

ADJUST RECLINE ANGLE

1. Squeeze the Level Adjustment Handle to extend or retract

the Leveling Foot until the Base is within the recommended

range for your child. There are four recline positions.

2. Release handle to lock Foot in place.

3. Install Base. Be sure to check for correct

recline angle after installation.

If the Recline Angle is not correct after installation, uninstall the base,

adjust Leveling Foot and reinstall.

DO NOT use this or any other child restraint with a

premature, low birth weight, or medically fragile infant,

until after you have consulted with your doctor. Some

infants may have difculty breathing or have other

medical problems when placed in a seated position.

If the child restraint is TOO UPRIGHT, the child's head

may fall forward and cause breathing problems.

If the child restraint is TOO RECLINED crash

protection will be reduced.

Failure to properly recline the child restraint on the

vehicle seat increases the risk of Death or serious

injury.

ADJUSTING THE RECLINE ANGLE USING THE BASE

1. Remove LATCH anchors from storage. See page 27.

2. Unfold the Load Leg from underneath the Base.

3. Position Base on a rear vehicle seat. If a hump is present

on the oor of the vehicle, See page 28 for important

information on using the Load Leg in this seating position.

4. Adjust the Leveling Foot to achieve the correct angle for your

child's weight as shown on the Level Indicator. See page 29.

5. Fully open Belt Tensioning Plate by turning the orange Locking

Lever to the

OPEN position and lifting up on the Plate.

Once open, the Belt Tensioning Plate will remain open on its own. The

Locking Lever should be in the OPEN position with the Plate open.

6. Attach both LATCH Connectors to the Lower LATCH Anchors.

Each should make an audible CLICK when attached. Make

sure they are attached by pulling rmly on the connectors.

7. Push Base against vehicle seat back. Tension the LATCH

strap by pulling on the LATCH Strap Tensioning Loop to take

the slack out of the LATCH Strap, just enough to make it snug.

Tuck the loose end of the strap under the base so it WILL

NOT INTERFERE with the closing of the Belt Tensioning

Plate or the connection of the Infant Carrier to the Base.

At this point, the LATCH strap should only be snug as the Belt

Tensioning Plate will tighten the system fully.

8. Press the Belt Tensioning Plate down with both

hands, where indicated, until it locks into place. The

orange Locking Lever will rotate to the

position automatically when the Plate is locked.

9. Grab the Base at the Belt Guides and pull from side to side

and front to back to make sure it is installed correctly. The base

should not move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) in any direction.

If the Base moves too much, open the Belt Tensioning Plate, tension

the LATCH Strap a little more and try again. After this, if the Base still

moves too much, you may need to try a different vehicle seat location

or installation method, or both.

10. Squeeze the Adjustment Handle on the Load Leg

and extend it until the Foot makes rm contact with

vehicle oor. Lock Leg into place using the rst hole

that will rmly lock it against the vehicle oor.

It may be necessary to lift up slightly on the Base to allow the Foot to

lock into the hole. See page 28.

11. Check that the Recline Angle remained in the appropriate

range for the child's weight. If not, remove Base,

adjust recline angle and reinstall. See page 29.

5. Pull out vehicle belt to form a single length of about 24

inches (60 cm). Hold the buckle Tongue in one hand and

squeeze the lap and shoulder belts together in the other.

6. Route the vehicle belts under the Belt Tensioning Plate, and

through the Belt Guides on both sides of the Base. BUCKLE

THE BELT. Make sure the belts lay at and are not twisted.

The vehicle belt should ALWAYS be routed UNDER the tab on the Belt

Guide. NEVER place a vehicle belt over the tab on the Belt Guide, even

in a vehicle with longer buckle stalks.

7. On the buckle side, rst lift up on the shoulder belt to

remove slack in the lap belt

. Then remove slack

from the shoulder belt on the opposite side

At this point, only remove slack from the vehicle belts, being careful

not to over tighten them. The Belt Tensioning Plate will tighten the

system fully. If you have previously installed the seat using LATCH,

make sure the LATCH Strap lies at on the bottom of the Base. See

"To Store" section on page 27.

shoulder belt all the way and then letting it rewind into the retractor. Pull on the belt to make

Rod under the Attachment Catch on the Base.

3. Rotate foot end of the Infant Carrier down onto

the Base until an audible CLICK is heard.

4. Move handle to the DRIVE postion.

The green Safety Button will pop out from the middle of the Infant

Carrier Release to indicate proper attachment.

The Cloud Q is allowed to touch the vehicle seat(s) in front of it, as

long as the recline angle of the Cloud Q is not affected.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER WITH THE BASE

1. Position the infant carrier on a rear vehicle seat, with the

handle in the DRIVE position, with the foot end towards

the backseat, push it rmly against the vehicle seat.

2. Route the lap belt portion of the seat belt into the belt guides

on BOTH THE HANDLE AND CARRIER. Make sure the

belt is correctly routed on both sides and buckle the belt.

3. Lift shoulder belt over handle and around Carrier. Slide shoulder

belt into the blue Shoulder Belt Guide

Make sure the

shoulder belt passes below the L.S.P. devices on both sides.

4. LOCK your vehicle lap shoulder belt. Refer to

your vehicle Owner's Manual

for how your

vehicle lap and shoulder belt locks.

In many vehicles, you can switch the shoulder belt retractor into locking

mode by pulling the shoulder belt out all the way. In some vehicles the

buckle locks. Check the vehicle Owner’s Manual to see how your

system locks.

To check if the vehicle belt is locked, after you install the infant carrier, pull

up rmly on the lap belt between the Belt Guides. The belt should remain

tight if the vehicle system is locked.

5. Push Infant Carrier rmly into vehicle seat pressing down

near the crotch strap between the child’s legs

, while

removing slack from lap belt. Repeat for shoulder belt.

6. Make sure that vehicle belt buckle and hardware

DO NOT INTERFERE with the Infant Carrier.

vehicle lap shoulder belt. A locking clip must be used

with a vehicle belt that DOES NOT LOCK. Call the

7. Make sure the vehicle is on level ground. Check the recline

angle. Adjust the seat angle until the red line on the Infant

Carrier is level with the ground. A tightly rolled towel or

pool noodle may be placed under the Infant Carrier near

the vehicle seat back to adjust the angle. See page 43.

The Cloud Q is allowed to touch the vehicle seat(s) in front of it, as

long the recline angle of the Cloud Q is not affected.

8. Grab the Infant Carrier at the Belt Guides and pull

from side to side and front to back to make sure it

is installed correctly. The Infant Carrier should not

move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) in any direction.

If the Infant Carrier moves too much, tighten the vehicle belts more

and recheck. You may try a different vehicle seat or installation

method, or both.

9. If the Infant Carrier is next to a vehicle door or panel,

extend the adjacent L.S.P. device. See page 42.

mode by pulling the shoulder belt out all the way. In some vehicles the

buckle locks. Check the vehicle Owner’s Manual to see how your

system locks.

To check if the vehicle belt is locked, after you install the infant carrier, pull

up rmly on the lap belt between the Belt Guides. The belt should remain

tight if the vehicle system is locked.

4. Push Infant Carrier rmly into vehicle seat, pressing down

near the crotch strap between the child’s legs

, while

removing slack from lap belt. Repeat for shoulder belt.

5. Make sure that vehicle belt buckle and hardware

DO NOT INTERFERE with the Infant Carrier.

NEVER install this child restraint using a non-locking

vehicle lap shoulder belt. A locking clip must be used

with a vehicle belt that DOES NOT LOCK. Call the

CYBEX Customer Care Department at 1.877.242.5676 to

obtain a locking clip.

6. Check the recline angle. Adjust the seat angle until the

red Level Line on the Infant Carrier is level with the

ground. A tightly rolled towel or pool noodle may be

placed under the Infant Carrier, near the vehicle seat

back to adjust the angle, if necesarry. See page 43.

The Cloud Q is allowed to touch the vehicle seat(s) in front of it, as

long the recline angle of the Cloud Q is not affected.

7. Grab the Infant Carrier at the Belt Guides and pull

from side to side and front to back to make sure it

is installed correctly. The Infant Carrier should not

move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) in any direction.

If the Infant Carrier moves too much, tighten the vehicle belts more

and recheck. You may try a different vehicle seat or installation

method, or both.

8. If the Infant Carrier is next to a vehicle door or panel,

extend the adjacent L.S.P. device. See page 42.

INSTALLING THE INFANT CARRIER WITH A LAP BELT ONLY

ALWAYS USE the L.S.P. device when the Infant Carrier

is installed in an outer seating position, either WITH OR

WITHOUT the Base.

TO EXTEND

The L.S.P. telescopes out to two positions, fully extended and

intermediate.

Pull out the L.S.P. device on the side of the Cloud Q adjacent to

the vehicle door or panel listening for an audible CLICK. If the

L.S.P. device is touching the door or panel, retract the L.S.P. to

the intermediate positon by pressing the button and pushing in the

L.S.P.

TO RETRACT

Depress the button while pushing the button on the L.S.P. while

pushing the L.S.P. back into the carrier..

ALWAYS Use an L.S.P. device on the side of the child

restraint immediately adjacent to a vehicle door or

panel.

NEVER Extend an L.S.P. device toward a passenger or

another child restraint.

NEVER lift or Carry the child restraint using the L.S.P.

devices.

USING THE LINEAR SIDE-IMPACT PROTECTION (L.S.P.)

It's very important for your child's safety that this child

restraint be installed at the correct angle.

ADJUST RECLINE

Adjust the seat angle until the RED Level Line on the Infant

Carrier is level with the ground.

If you are having trouble achieving the proper recline angle:

1. Uninstall Infant Carrier.

2. Place a tightly rolled towel or pool noodle under

the Infant Carrier, where indicated. If on an aircraft,

a tightly rolled airline blanket may be placed

under the Infant Carrier to adjust the angle.

3. Continue installation.

DO NOT use this or any other child restraint with a

premature, low birth weight, or medically fragile infant,

until after you have consulted with your doctor. Some

infants may have difculty breathing or have other

medical problems when placed in a seated position.

If the child restraint is too upright, the child's head

may fall forward and cause breathing problems. If the

child restraint is TOO RECLINED crash protection will

be reduced.

Failure to properly recline the child restraint on the

vehicle seat increases the risk of Death or serious

injury.

ADJUSTING THE RECLINE ANGLE WITHOUT THE BASE

The FAA recommends that children up to 40 pounds

(18 kg) use a certied, harnessed child seat while travelling

on an airplane. The Cloud Q is certied for airplane use.

INSTALLING THE CARRIER ON AIRPLANE

Install your Infant Carrier in a window seat to avoid blocking the

aisle.

1. Position Infant Carrier rear facing in aircraft seat with the

foot end rmly against the back of the aircraft seat.

2. Route lap belt under both Belt Guides. BUCKLE THE BELT.

3. Push Infant Carrier rmly into aircraft seat

while removing slack from the lap belt.

4. Check the recline angle. Adjust the seat angle until the red

Level Line on the Infant Carrier is level with the oor of the

aircraft. A tightly rolled airline blanket may be placed under

the Infant Carrier to adjust the angle. See page 43.

5. Grab the Infant Carrier at the Belt Guides and pull

from side to side and front to back to make sure it

is installed correctly. The Infant Carrier should not

move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) in any direction.

If the Infant Carrier moves too much, tighten the airplane belts more

and recheck. If you plan to use the Base at your destination, don't

forget to gate check the Base or check it in as luggage.

USING THE INFANT CARRIER ON AIRPLANE

REMOVING THE SEAT COVER

To remove please follow these steps:

1. Undo the belt buckle.

2. Unsnap the two Shoulder Pads from the harness.

3. If using the Infant Insert, simply unsnap the two

snaps holding it around the harness straps.

4. Pull the Headrest Cover over the edge.

5. Unsnap the two snaps connecting to the Backrest Cover.

6. Unsnap the two snaps creating the harness slot.

7. Unsnap the two black snaps holding the canopy

fabric and push canopy forward.

8. Unsnap the three gray snaps from the top of the plastic shell.

9. Unsnap two silver dual action snaps- same as for canopy straps.

10. Unthread fabric around European Belt Buckle

and LSP devices, then pull up over the top.

11. Pull forward and over the side wings, unsnap 2

gray snaps and 2 silver snaps connecting to Leg

Support Cover, as well as 2 gray snaps connecting

to plastic shell and remove the Backrest Cover.

12. Fully recline seat, unsnap opening for hip belt

and lift fabric over the side. Finally thread Crotch

Buckle through the Crotch Buckle Pad.

INSTALLING THE SEAT COVER

Reverse the removal instructions to reinstall the Seat Cover.

The integrated Harness System cannot be removed

from the seat. NEVER remove or attempt to remove

parts of the Harness System.

DO NOT damage, remove or dispose of any EPS foam.

NEVER use Infant Carrier without a properly installed

Seat Cover.

CARE AND CLEANING

SPOT CLEANING

Spot clean Seat Covers, Shoulder Pads, Buckle Pad, and the

Infant Insert as needed with a clean cloth using mild detergent and

water.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Seat cover parts can be washed as follows:

• Preferably wash by hand in lukewarm water

• Machine wash COLD, gentle cycle, mild detergent

• Line Dry

DO NOT (or cover will shrink)

• Do NOT machine wash warm or hot

• DO NOT TUMBLE DRY

• Do NOT iron

• Do NOT use bleach

HARNESS STRAPS

Sponge clean using warm water and mild soap. Air dry. Do not iron.

HARNESS BUCKLE

Sponge clean or thoroughly rinse Harness Buckle with warm water.

Test by fastening and unfastening until an audible CLICK is heard

after inserting each Buckle Tongue into the Buckle. If CLICKS are

not heard, repeat the cleaning procedure.

LATCH CONNECTORS

Sponge clean or thoroughly rinse LATCH Connectors with

warm water. Allow to dry thoroughly. Test by connecting and

disconnecting until an audible CLICK is heard after connecting

each connector to a lower LATCH anchor. If clicks are not heard,

repeat the cleaning procedure.

PLASTIC PARTS

Wipe clean with mild detergent and warm water.

NEVER remove Harness or Harness components from

Infant Carrier.

NEVER use bleach, household cleaners or solvents.

DO NOT lubricate.

CARE AND CLEANING

Did you read and understand this Owner’s Manual and all labels

found on this child restraint?

Is the child restraint rear facing in an approved vehicle seat

location?

If using the Base, is it securely installed with the Load Leg

locked rmly against the vehicle oor whenever possible?

Is the seat recline angle correct according to the Level Indicator

or red Level Line?

Is the No Rethread Harness adjusted to the correct position for

the size of the baby with the Harness Slots at or below your

child's shoulders.

Is the Harness snug around the baby and secured properly with

the Chest Clip positioned at the armpits?

Is the Infant Carrier securely attached to the Base? Is the green

Safety Button visible?

Is the handle LOCKED in the DRIVE position towards the back

of the vehicle?

If the child restraint is next to a vehicle door or panel, is the

adjacent L.S.P. device extended?

Does your child weigh between 4 and 35 lb (1.8—15.9 kg)?

Is your child less than 30 inches (76 cm) in height?

Is the top of your child's head more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the

top of the Infant Carrier?

Is today’s date before the “Do Not Use After” date on the child

restraint?

Did you check for hot surfaces in sunny weather?

If you answered YES to all of these questions, you are good to

go, and please DRIVE SAFELY!

SAFE CAR PRACTICES

• NEVER drive under the inuence of alcohol or drugs.

• NEVER drive distracted (e.g. using cell phones, texting, tending

to children).

• Everyone rides buckled up or the vehicle does not go! MAKE

NO EXCEPTIONS for adults or children!

• Unrestrained adults are projectiles in the event of a crash and

can injure others in the vehicle.

• If someone unbuckles, the vehicle STOPS! Being rm and

consistent will result in fewer disciplinary problems as children

grow older.

• NEVER leave loose objects (e.g. groceries, books, bags) in a

vehicle. In the event of a sudden stop, loose objects will keep

moving, potentially causing serious injuries.

• NEVER leave a child alone in a vehicle, even for one minute.

• ALWAYS keep car doors LOCKED when vehicle is parked and

unattended to prevent children from climbing inside.

recycling the seat. Contact your local community recycling center

DO NOT USE this child restraint if it has been in a

crash. There may be hidden damage and it must be

replaced. Your insurance company may provide some

• La protección principal para los

ocupantes de un vehículo en un choque

es la estructura del vehículo mismo;

un sistema de sujeción infantil no

protegerá al niño si el vehículo recibe

un impacto fuerte. Este sistema de

sujeción, siempre y cuando se UTILICE

CORRECTAMENTE, incrementará

considerablemente las oportunidades

de supervivencia en la mayoría de los

choques.

CUANDO SE UTILIZA DENTRO

DEL VEHÍCULO

• UTILICE SOLAMENTE con niños

que pesan de 4 a 35 libras (1.8 y 15.9

kg) que miden 30 pulgadas (76 cm) o

menos.

• NO UTILICE este sistema de sujeción

infantil si la parte superior de la cabeza

del niño está a menos de 1 pulgada (2.5

cm) de la parte superior del sistema de

sujeción.

• JAMÁS COLOQUE este sistema de

sujeción infantil en un asiento del frente

que tenga bolsa de aire activa. MUERTE

o LESIONES GRAVES podrían ocurrir.

El ASIENTO TRASERO es el lugar más

seguro para los niños menores de 12

años.

• SOLAMENTE UTILICE este sistema

de sujeción infantil orientado hacia atrás.

• JAMÁS INSTALE este sistema de

sujeción infantil en asientos que estén

caso de un frenado súbito, un respaldo

de asiento no bloqueado suelto podría

evitar que este sistema de sujeción

infantil proteja al niño tan bien como

debería.

• JAMÁS UTILICE este sistema de

sujeción infantil con cinturones de

seguridad automáticos o instalados en

las puertas ya que sistema de sujeción

infantil no quedaría correctamente

sujetado en caso de un choque.

• NUNCA UTILICE este sistema de

sujeción infantil en botes, vehículos de

baja velocidad (LSVs), vehículos todo

terreno (ATVs), carritos de golf u otras

aplicaciones no certicadas.

• ANTES de cada uso, VERIFIQUE

SIEMPRE que el sistema de sujeción

infantil está rmemente sujetado al

asiento del vehículo y que no se mueva

más de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) en cualquier

• REVISE SIEMPRE las hebillas y

quemar al niño. Cubra con una manta el

sistema de sujeción infantil desocupado

• JAMÁS DEJE sin jar un Sistema de

Sujeción Infantil vacío en su vehículo. El

sistema de sujeción debe estar siempre

jado inclusive si no está ocupado. Un

sistema de sujeción infantil suelto podría

lesionar a los ocupantes del vehículo en

caso de choque o frenado súbito.

ADVERTENCIA! MUERTE o GRAVES LESIONES podrían ocurrir

• Si los conectores del sistema LATCH

NO ESTÁN SIENDO UTILIZADOS,

asegúrese que estén bien guardados.

• NO UTILICE este sistema de sujeción

un choque. El asiento puede tener

daños ocultos por lo que debe ser

Éstos podrían constituir un RIESGO DE

manera segura para atender al niño.

de elevación para atenderlo mientras el

vehículo esté en marcha. Los ocupantes

que no están sujetados representan un

mayor riesgo de muerte o de lesiones

graves en choques automovilísticos.

• SIEMPRE MANTENGA las puertas

cerradas con seguro cuando el vehículo

el garaje. Los niños pueden introducirse

al vehículo y quedar encerrados

IMPACTOS LATERALES (LSP SYSTEM)

Un brazo telescópico bloqueador combinado

con una absorción de energía de espuma de

poliestireno expandido (EPS por sus siglas

en inglés) y un reposacabezas ajustable crea

el sistema LSP de CYBEX . Este sistema

ha sido optimizado para proteger y reducir

LA ORIENTACIÓN HACIA ATRÁS ES LA MÁS SEGURA

En seguimiento a las recomendaciones de la Academia Americana de Pediatría para

el transporte seguro de bebés, le recomendamos que mantenga al niño en un asiento

infantil adecuadamente instalado mirando hacia atrás hasta que tenga por lo menos

dos (2) años de edad o que exceda el peso o la altura máxima indicada para el asiento.

Utilice el asiento CYBEX Cloud Q hasta que el niño alcance los límites máximos de peso o altura.

Debido a que no todos los niños tienen las mismas formas y tamaños, no utilice el asiento Cloud Q

cuando la parte superior de la cabeza del niño esté a menos de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) de la parte

superior del Porta Bebé. Esto permitirá una protección adecuada durante un choque.

Cuando el Asiento Cloud Q le quede pequeño al niño, manténgalo sentado mirando hacia atrás en

un asiento convertible el asiento lo permita siguiendo las especicaciones del fabricante antes de

voltearlo para que quede orientado hacia el frente.

REQUISITOS DE TAMAÑO DEL NIÑO

HEBILLA DEL ARNÉS

Para liberar las lengüetas de la hebilla, presione rmemente el

botón ROJO de la Hebilla del Arnés y jale las lengüetas.

Para abrochar, inserte cada una de las lengüetas en la hebilla

hasta escuchar un sonoro. Tire de las lengüetas para vericar que

estén bien abrocha CLIC das.

Verique que la hebilla esté funcionando correctamente y esté libre de

polvo y basura. Para su limpieza consulte la página 45.

CLIP DEL PECHO

Para separar el Clip del Pecho, oprima las lengüetas superiores

e inferiores para separarlas. Para abrochar, deslice ambas partes

juntas hasta escuchar un CLIC sonoro.

Siempre coloque el centro del Clip de Pecho a nivel de las

axilas del niño.

AJUSTE DEL ARNÉS A UNA SOLA MANO

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ

ASA DE ACARREO

El Asa de Acarreo tiene cuatro posiciones bloqueadas:

6. Posición DE REPOSO

Para mover el asa a una posición nueva, oprima AMBOS Botones

de Ajuste del Asa.

CAPUCHA INTEGRADA

Simplemente tire hacia adelante para extender la Capucha del

Cloud Q, la cual tiene cuatro posiciones como se muestra. Para

replegar la Capucha, regrésela con cuidado hacia su posición

original

SIEMPRE MANTENGA el asa bloqueada en la posición

MANEJAR cuando utilice este sistema de sujeción

infantil en un vehículo.

ASEGÚRESE que el asa esté BLOQUEADA en la

posición de Acarreo antes de levantar el Porta Bebé

por el asa. Un asa no bloqueada podría moverse

inesperadamente ocasionando que el niño caiga.

MANTENGA SIEMPRE al niño correctamente colocado

en el arnés, aun cuando utilice el Porta Bebé fuera del

vehículo.

JAMÁS CUELGUE juguetes u otros objetos en el

asa cuando esté utilizando el sistema de sujeción

infantil en un vehículo ya que éstos podrían lesionar

gravemente al niño en caso de frenado súbito o choque.

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ

PARA AJUSTAR EL ASIENTO

El posicionador Cloud Q Perfect Positioner™ está conformado por

un Apoyacabeza, un arnés ajustable que no necesita recolocar las

correas y un inserto acojinado. El Posicionador Perfecto puede

ajustarse hacia arriba y hacia abajo en ocho posiciones para

acomodar perfectamente al bebé.

El Cloud Q se entrega en la posición más baja con el Inserto

Acojinado ya doblado.

1.Desabroche el Arnés y el Clip del Pecho.

2.Coloque al niño en el Porta Bebé, asegurándose que las nalgas

queden bien asentadas en la base del asiento con la entrepierna a

nivel de la correa de entrepierna.

3.Ajuste al bebé tirando del Anillo Posicionador de plástico gris,

deslizando simultáneamente el Posicionador Perfecto hacia arriba

hasta que las Ranuras del Arnés estén a nivel de los hombros del

niño o un poco más abajo.

Si los hombros del niño quedan más abajo del nivel de las Ranuras

del Arnés, inclusive en la posición más baja, doble la porción inferior

del Inserto Acojinado por debajo en la orilla para levantar al niño y

colocarlo en la posición adecuada del Arnés.

Desdoble el Inserto cuando ya no se necesite para alcanzar las

Ranuras del Arnés.

Verique periódicamente que la altura de la correa del hombro sea la

correcta conforme su hijo vaya creciendo.

De ser necesario, el Inserto

Acolchado puede quitarse para

que un niño mayor quede más

abajo y se pueda lograr que el

arnés ajuste.

Para el uso correcto del Porta Bebé, las correas del

arnés de hombros tienen que a la MISMA ALTURA o

POR DEBAJO de los hombros del niño.

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ

ASEGURAR AL NIÑO

1. Aoje el arnés oprimiendo rmemente el Botón Ajustador

mientras tira de ambas correas hacia adelante. al nivel de las

axilas.

2. Oprima el botón rojo de la Hebilla del Arnés para liberar las

lengüetas.

3. Separe el Clip del Pecho y separe las correas. Coloque al

niño en el porta bebé en posición de sentado, asegurándose

que su trasero esté colocado en el asiento y su espalda esté

totalmente apoyada.

4. Pase las correas del arnés por cada brazo hacia los hombros

y alrededor de las caderas. Asegúrese que la Almohadilla de la

Hebilla y la Hebilla del Arnés queden entre las piernas.

Los recién nacidos tienden a colocar sus brazos y piernas cerca del cuerpo.

Suavemente, extienda cada una de las extremidades para permitir la

colocación correcta del arnés. Sea especialmente cuidadoso con las áreas

sensibles (por ejemplo: ombligos, circuncisiones).

5. Abroche insertando una lengüeta a la vez en la Hebilla del

Arnés hasta que escuche un CLIC sonoro en cada lengüeta.

Asegúrese que las Correas del Arnés no estén torcidas.

6. Conecte el Clip del Pecho hasta que escuche un CLIC sonoro.

ASEGÚRESE que las correas del arnés estén A LA

MISMA ALTURA o POR DEBAJO de los hombros del

niño. En caso contrario, consulte el Ajuste de la Altura

Revise SIEMPRE la Hebilla del Arnés para asegurarse

que esté rmemente abrochada. El no abrochar y

apretar correctamente el sistema del arnés en cada

uso podría causar la MUERTE o lesiones graves.

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ

7. Tire hacia arriba de las Correas del Arnés para ceñirlas

alrededor de las caderas del niño mientras sostiene en su lugar

la Hebilla del Arnés.

8. Lentamente tire de la correa ajustadora para apretar las

Correas de Hombros. Una correa bien ajustada no debe

quedar oja y debe estar colocada en una línea relativamente

recta sin estar suelta. No debe estrujar la piel del niño ni

colocar su cuerpo en posición forzada.

9. Siempre coloque el centro del Clip de Pecho a nivel de las

axilas del niño. Asegúrese que las Almohadillas de Hombros

no intereran con la ubicación del Clip del Pecho.

Si las Almohadillas de los Hombros no permiten un ajuste correcto, se

pueden retirar para tener más espacio para el Clip del Pecho.

Desabróchelas para retirarlas.

10. Prueba del pellizco para comprobar la tirantez del arnés. Para

comprobar que el arnés esté correctamente ajustado, pellizque

la correa de hombro. Si el arnés está ceñido usted no podrá

pellizcar alguna parte oja cuando trate de apretar la correa

entre el pulgar y el índice.

Para proteger al niño del frío, coloque una manta que lo cubra a él y al

porta bebé, DESPUÉS de haber colocado y ajustado correctamente el

arnés alrededor del niño.

MANTENGA SIEMPRE al niño correctamente colocado

en el arnés.

JAMÁS COLOQUE al niño en el Porta Bebé vestido con

prendas voluminosas o ropa gruesa.

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ

PARA AJUSTAR LA POSICIÓN RECLINABLE

Una nueva función del Cloud Q es que permite cambiar a una

posición horizontal fuera del auto. Con una pata de apoyo

más larga y una posición acostada, el niño puede descansar

cómodamente y en una postura ergonómicamente correcta.

El ángulo se puede ajustar fácilmente con una sola mano sin tener

que sacar al niño del portabebé. y el asa permanece en la posición

1. Mientras sostiene con una mano en el asa, simplemente apretar

la manija reclinable de lanzamiento y empuje el respaldo hacia

abajo hasta que encaje totalmente en la posición reclinada.

como la ubicación más segura para un sistema de sujeción infantil correctamente

instalado en vez de las ubicaciones de asientos en el frente del vehículo..

SOLAMENTE COLOQUE este sistema de sujeción infantil ORIENTADO HACIA

ATRÁS en la ubicación de asientos admisible para el fabricante del vehículo.

Consulte su Manual del Propietario del vehículo para obtener información acerca

de los sistemas de cinturones de seguridad, bolsas de aire e instalación de sistemas

de sujeción infantil para determinar las ubicaciones de asientos admisibles.

Si es posible, INSTALE la Load Leg Base US en una posición de asiento que

permita que el Extremo de la Pata de Carga esté extendido en posición bloqueada

REQUISITOS DE UBICACIÓN EN EL ASIENTO DEL VEHÍCULO

CINTURONES DE SEGURIDAD DEL VEHÍCULO

El diseño y funcionamiento de los sistemas de cinturones de seguridad varían de un vehículo a otro y de una

ubicación de asientos a otra en el mismo vehículo. Consulte el Manual del Propietario del vehículo

para

conocer el uso, ubicación y ajuste correctos de los cinturones de regazo y de hombro del vehículo.

JAMÁS INSTALE ESTE SISTEMA DE SUJECIÓN INFANTIL CON NINGUNO DE LOS SIGUIENTES CINTURONES

DE SEGURIDAD:

• Un cinturón de regazo con cinturón de hombro automático.

• Cinturones de seguridad que estén unidos de alguna manera a la puerta del vehículo o que avancen

automáticamente por un riel para sujetar al pasajero al cerrar la puerta.

• Cinturones de regazo con Retractor de Cierre de Emergencia (ELR, por sus siglas en inglés).

Este tipo de cinturones de regazo se mantienen sueltos y permanecen móviles hasta que se traban en un choque o

frenado súbito.

• Una combinación de Cinturón de Regazo/Hombro con Dos Retractores.

Cinturones de regazo-hombro que tienen, cada uno, un retractor sin bloqueo separado para la sección del regazo y

la sección del hombro.

• Cinturones de regazo delante del pliegue del asiento (o recodo)

• Cinturones Inables.

El Cloud Q puede tocar el respaldo del (los) asiento(s) en frente, siempre y cuando el ángulo de reclinación del Cloud Q no se

vea afectado.

La mejor posición para el sistema de sujeción infantil es la recomendada en el Manual de Propietario de su vehículo y que permita

una instalación correcta y segura del sistema de sujeción cada vez.Si es posible, haga que un adulto viaje en la parte trasera con el niño

con el n de vigilarlo.

REQUISITOS DE UBICACIÓN EN EL ASIENTO DEL VEHÍCULO

JAMÁS UTILICE juntos el sistema latch y los

cinturones del vehículo para instalar este sistema

de sujeción infantil. El uso de ambos sistemas no

está autorizado y podría causar un funcionamiento

inadecuado del sistema de sujeción infantil.

USANDO EL SISTEMA LATCH

¿QUE ES EL SISTEMA LATCH?

LATCH es un acrónimo de Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children que quiere decir

‘anclajes inferiores y correas de anclaje para niños’ y se reere a un par de anclajes (o

barras) inferiores jos y una correa de anclaje que están integrados a su vehículo.

Los anclajes inferiores del sistema LATCH están localizados en el pliegue (recodo)

entre el respaldo y el cojín del asiento del vehículo y pueden estar visibles o no a

primera vista. Si los anclajes inferiores del sistema LATCH no están visibles, su

ubicación estará indicada a través de

símbolos. Las correas de anclaje superiores

están localizadas en diversos lugares detrás del asiento. Las correas superiores de

anclaje no son necesarias en asientos infantiles como el Cloud Q.

¿Es más seguro?

De manera característica, el sistema LATCH ofrece una instalación más sencilla

y homogénea. Sin embargo, este sistema de sujeción infantil puede instalarse de

manera segura utilizando ya sea el sistema LATCH o los cinturones del vehículo.

Cualquiera de estos métodos es seguro para el niño siempre y cuando esté

correctamente instalado.

El sistema LATCH viene instalado de fábrica en los modelos posteriores al 1° de

septiembre de 2002. Consulte el Manual del Propietario de su vehículo

para ubicar

las posiciones de los anclajes inferiores del sistema LATCH en su vehículo.

POSICIONES EXTERIORES DEL ASIENTO

UTILICE los anclajes inferiores del sistema LATCH correspondientes O un cinturón

de seguridad para instalar este sistema de sujeción infantil en la posición del asiento

exteriores (los que están a cada lado de la posición central).

POSICIONES DEL ASIENTO CENTRAL

Si su vehículo no tiene Anclajes Inferiores en la posición de asiento

central, revise el Manual del propietario del vehículo para ver si

está permitido el uso de los dos Anclajes Inferiores del interior de

los asientos laterales al instalar el asiento para niños.

CYBEX permite este asiento de seguridad para ser instalado

usando los dos Anclajes Inferiores del interior de los asientos

del costado - si la distancia entre los Anclajes Inferiores del

interiores es de entre 11 y 20 pulgadas (28-51 cm) y si el fabricante

del vehículo lo permite (Si la distancia no es correcta y / o no

autorizada por el fabricante del vehículo, use el cinturón del

vehículo para su instalación en la posición central.)

Al utilizar los Anclajes Inferiores del interior asegúrese de que

no haya obstáculos de instalación de la hebilla o de las correas

LATCH o mini conectores que no bloqueen las hebillas del cinturón

del vehículo.

Asegúrese que exista la suciente altura para usar la Pata de

Carga en el Asiento Central ya que muchos vehículos tienen una

joroba en el piso, la cual podría hacer que la Base quede por

encima del asiento del vehículo. Consulte la página 28.

LAS GUÍAS LATCH

1. Localice los anclajes inferiores del Sistema LATCH o los

símbolos que indican su ubicación.

2. Si los anclajes inferiores del Sistema LATCH están ocultos

detrás del pliegue formado por el respaldo y el cojín del

asiento, instale las Guías del Sistema LATCH que vienen con

el producto en los anclajes inferiores para una instalación más

sencilla de la Load Leg Base US.

3. Para instalar, una las dos Guías del Sistema LATCH a los dos

anclajes inferiores del sistema deslizándolas en el pliegue y

debajo del anclaje inferior del Sistema LATCH.

USANDO EL SISTEMA LATCH

PARA SACAR DE ALMACENAMIENTO

Para instalar la base usando LATCH, los conectores deben ser

removidos de sus compartimientos de almacenamiento.

1. Para tener acceso a los conectores del sistema LATCH, oprima la

Manija de Ajuste de Nivel y extienda totalmente la Pata Niveladora

2. Retire cada uno de los conectores oprimiendo el botón ROJO

mientras tira hacia afuera.

3. Alargue la correa entre los conectores utilizando el Ajustador de

Correa del Sistema LATCH localizado junto al conector del lado

derecho. Oprima hacia abajo el botón Ajustador y saque la correa.

PARA ALMACENAR

Al utilizar el cinturón de seguridad del vehículo para sujetar

la Base, ES NECESARIO que los Conectores LATCH queden

almacenados en la Base. Los Conectores sueltos podrían lesionar

gravemente a los ocupantes del vehículo en caso de choque.

1. Extienda totalmente la Pata Niveladora para tener acceso al

espacio de almacenamiento de los conectores del sistema LATCH.

Deslice cada conector en la ranura de almacenamiento hasta

escuchar un CLIC sonoro.

2. Cierre y Bloquee la Placa Tensora de Cinturones

3. Elimine cualquier holgura de la correa del Sistema LATCH tirando

de la Presilla Tensora de la Correa del Sistema LATCH localizada

junto al conector.

4. Repliegue la Pata Niveladora oprimiendo la Manija de Ajuste de

Nivel a la vez que presiona la Pata Niveladora.

No elimine más holgura de la necesaria en la Correa del Sistema LATCH

para permitir que ésta permanezca plana en la Base entre las Guías del

Cinturón.

NO APRIETE la Correa del Sistema LATCH, ya que esto

podría interferir con la Placa Tensora de Cinturones al

instalar la Base usando los cinturones del vehículo.

PARA DESMONTAR Y ALMACENAR LOS CONECTORES DEL SISTEMA LATCH

La pata de carga es una medida de seguridad ecaz del Cloud Q y se

RECOMIENDA SU USO. Sin embargo, si es necesario (por ejemplo, en una

posición central con una joroba en el suelo), la base puede ser instalada

con la pata de carga plegada por debajo de la base. Si resulta imposible

cumplir con los requisitos de instalación de la Pata de Carga, usted

TENDRÁ que elegir otro asiento, o instalar el Porta Bebé sin la Base.

PARA EXTENDER

1. Asegúrese que la Base esté instalada de acuerdo con el Rango del ángulo

de reclinación que es el indicado para su niño.

2. Oprima la Manija de Ajuste de la Pata de Carga y extiéndala la Pata hasta

que haga contacto con el piso del vehículo.

3. BLOQUEE SIEMPRE la Pata en su lugar usando la PRIMERA posición

donde el Extremo quede BLOQUEADO rmemente haciendo contacto con

el piso del vehículo sin levantar la Base del asiento.

Podría ser necesario levantar ligeramente la Base para permitir que la Pata de Carga

quede bloqueada en el agujero.

PARA REPLEGAR

Oprima la Manija y repliegue el Extremo de la Pata de Carga.

Cuando es posible, INSTALE la Load Leg Base US en una posición

de asiento que permita que el Extremo de la Pata de Carga esté

extendido en posición bloqueada haciendo contacto rme con el

piso del vehículo.

JAMÁS INSTALE la Load Leg Base US en una posición de asiento

en la que la Pata de Carga este en su posición más corta, haga que

la Base quede por encima del asiento del vehículo. Si es necesario,

la base puede ser instalada con la pata de carga plegada por

debajo de la base.

JAMÁS EXTIENDA la Pata de Carga más allá de la PRIMERA

posición donde el extremo queda BLOQUEADO rmemente

haciendo contacto con el piso del vehículo.

USANDO LA PATA DE CARGA

Es muy importante para la seguridad del niño que el Sistema de

Sujeción Infantil quede instalado en el ángulo correcto. Antes de

colocar el Porta Bebé a la Base , verique siempre el Indicador

de Nivel para asegurar que está en el ángulo de reclinación

correcto según el peso del niño.

El vehículo debe estar sobre una supercie plana para que el Indicador

de Nivel funcione correctamente.

AJUSTE DEL ÁNGULO

1. Apriete la Manija de Ajuste de Nivel para extender o replegar

la Pata Niveladora hasta que la Base quede en el rango

recomendado para su niño. Hay cuatro posiciones de reclinación.

2. Libere la manija para bloquear el Extremo de la pata en su lugar.

3. Instale la Base. Después de instalar, verique que el Ángulo de

Reclinación sea el correcto.

Si el ángulo de reclinación no es el correcto después de la instalación,

desinstale la Base, ajuste la Pata Niveladora y vuelva a instalar.

NO utilice éste o ningún otro Sistema de Sujeción

Infantil con un bebé prematuro sino hasta que haya

consultado a su médico. Los bebés prematuros podrían

tener dicultad para respirar o presentar algunos otros

problemas médicos si se les coloca en postura de

sentados.

Si el Sistema de Sujeción Infantil está DEMASIADO

VERTICAL, la cabeza del niño puede inclinarse hacia

adelante y ocasionarle problemas respiratorios.

Si está DEMASIADO RECLINADO la protección en caso

de choque se verá reducida.

Si el Sistema de Sujeción Infantil no está correctamente

reclinado en el asiento del vehículo, el riesgo de muerte o

lesiones graves se incrementa.

AJUSTE DEL ÁNGULO DE RECLINACIÓN USANDO LA BASE

1. Saque los anclajes del sistema LATCH del lugar donde están

guardados. Consulte la página 27.

2. Extienda la Pata de Carga ubicada debajo de la Base.

3. Coloque la Base en un asiento posterior del vehículo Si el

piso del vehículo tiene una joroba, consulte la página 28 para

obtener información importante sobre cómo usar la Pata de

Carga en este acomodo de asiento.

4. Ajuste la Pata Niveladora hasta lograr el ángulo correcto según

el tamaño del niño como lo muestra el Indicador de Nivel.

Consulte la página 29.

5. Abra completamente la Placa Tensora de Cinturones girando la

Palanca de Bloqueo ANARANJADA hasta la posición de

OPEN y levantando la Placa hacia arriba.

Una vez abierta, la Placa Tensora de Cinturones permanecerá abierta

por su cuenta. La Palanca de Bloqueo deberá estar en posición

OPEN con la Placa abierta.

6. Una ambos Conectores del Sistema LATCH a los Anclajes

Inferiores del sistema LATCH. Cada uno debe producir un

CLIC sonoro al abrocharse. Asegúrese que hayan quedado

unidos tirando rmemente de los conectores.

7. Empuje la Base contra el respaldo del asiento del vehículo.

Tense la correa del sistema LATCH tirando de la presilla. Meta

el extremo suelto de la correa del Sistema LATCH debajo de

la base para que NO INTERFIERA con el cierre de la Placa

Tensora de Cinturones o la conexión entre el Porta Bebé y la

Base.

En este punto, la correa del sistema LATCH debería estar tirante. La

Placa Tensora de Cinturones tensará completamente el sistema.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA BASE UTILIZANDO EL SISTEMA LATCH

Utilice el PRIMER agujero

para bloquear la Pata de

Carga rmemente contra

el piso del vehículo.

8. Presione la Placa Tensora de Cinturones hacia abajo con

ambas manos, donde aparece indicado, hasta que quede

bloqueada en su lugar. La palanca de bloqueo de color naranja

girará a la posición CERRADO (

CLOSE) automáticamente

cuando la placa está bloqueada.

Si la Placa Tensora de Cinturones no se bloquea, intente aojar

ligeramente la correa del sistema LATCH.

9. Tome la Base en las Guías de Cinturón y tire de ella de

lado a lado y del frente hacia atrás para asegurarse que

haya quedado instalada correctamente. La Base no debería

moverse más de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) en cualquier dirección.

Si la Base se mueve demasiado, tensione la Correa del sistema

LATCH un poco más y vuelva a vericar. Después de esto, si la Base

se sigue moviendo demasiado, es posible que tenga que probar en un

asiento distinto del vehículo o con un método de instalación diferente,

o ambos.

10. Oprima la Manija de Ajuste de la Pata de Carga y extiéndala

hasta que el Extremo haga contacto rme con el piso del

vehículo. Bloquee la Pata en su lugar usando el primer agujero

que le permita bloquearla rmemente en contacto con el piso

del vehículo.

Podría ser necesario levantar ligeramente la Base para permitir que la

Pata quede bloqueada en su lugar. Consulte la página 28.

11. Verique que el Ángulo de Reclinación está en el rango

indicado correcto para el peso del niño. De no ser así, retire

la Base, ajuste el ángulo de reclinación y vuelva a instalar.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA BASE UTILIZANDO EL SISTEMA LATCH

1. Extienda la Pata de Carga ubicada debajo de la Base.

2. Coloque la Base en un asiento posterior del vehículo Si el piso

del vehículo tiene una joroba, consulte la página 28 para obtener

información importante sobre cómo usar la Pata de Carga en este

acomodo de asiento.

3. Ajuste la Pata Niveladora hasta lograr el ángulo correcto según el

tamaño del niño como lo muestra el Indicador de Nivel. Consulte la

página 29 para obtener mayores detalles.

4. Abra completamente la Placa Tensora de Cinturones girando la

Palanca de Bloqueo ANARANJADA hasta la posición de

OPEN

y levantando la Placa hacia arriba.

Una vez abierta, la Placa Tensora de Cinturones permanecerá abierta por su

cuenta. La Palanca de Bloqueo deberá estar en posición OPEN con la

Placa abierta.

5. Extraiga el cinturón de seguridad del asiento del vehículo para

formar un solo tramo de unas 24 pulgadas (60 cm). Sostenga la

lengüeta de la hebilla con una mano y oprima los cinturones de

regazo y hombro juntos con la otra.

6. Encamine los cinturones del asiento del vehículo por debajo de la

Placa Tensora de Cinturones y a través de las Guías de Cinturones

por ambos lados de la Base. ABROCHE EL CINTURÓN. Asegúrese

que los cinturones estén planos y no torcidos.

SIEMPRE encamine el cinturón de seguridad del vehículo POR DEBAJO de

la lengüeta de la Guía del Cinturón. JAMÁS coloque un cinturón de

seguridad por encima de la lengüeta de la Guía del Cinturón. Ni siquiera en

vehículos que tengan la base de la hebilla más larga.

7. Del lado de la hebilla, primero tire del cinturón de hombro

para eliminar cualquier holgura en el cinturón de regazo.

Base no debería moverse más de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) en cualquier dirección.

Si la Base se mueve demasiado, abra la Placa Tensora de Cinturones y elimine una

mayor cantidad de holgura del cinturón del vehículo, cierre la Placa y vuelva a vericar.

Después de esto, si la Base se sigue moviendo demasiado, es posible que tenga que

probar en un asiento distinto del vehículo o con un método de instalación diferente, o

ambos.

10. Oprima la Manija de Ajuste de la Pata de Carga y extiéndala hasta que el

Extremo haga contacto rme con el piso del vehículo. Bloquee la Pata en

su lugar usando el primer agujero que le permita bloquearla rmemente en

contacto con el piso del vehículo.

Podría ser necesario levantar la Base para permitir que la Pata quede bloqueada en su

lugar. Consulte la página 28.

11. Verique que el Ángulo de Reclinación está en el rango indicado correcto para

el peso del niño. De no ser así, retire la Base, ajuste el ángulo de reclinación y

vuelva a instalar. Consulte la página 29.

Asegúrese que la hebilla y el mecanismo del cinturón de seguridad del vehículo no

intereran con la correcta instalación del Base, o con la conexión entre el Porta Bebé y

la Base.

12. Coloque el cinturón de seguridad del vehículo en el modo de BLOQUEADO;

consulte el Manual del Propietario

para obtener mayor información.

En la mayoría de los vehículos, se puede cambiar el retractor del cinturón de hombro al modo

de bloqueo extrayendo totalmente el cinturón de hombro y dejando que se rebobine dentro del

retractor. Tire del cinturón para asegurarse que efectivamente se esté bloqueando.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA BASE UTILIZANDO DEL CINTURÓN DE REGAZO Y HOMBRO

1. Extienda la Pata de Carga ubicada debajo de la Base.

2. Coloque la Base en un asiento posterior del vehículo. Si el

3. Ajuste la Pata Niveladora hasta lograr el ángulo correcto

según el peso del niño como lo muestra el Indicador de Nivel.

Consulte la página 29.

4. Abra completamente la Placa Tensora de Cinturones girando la

Palanca de Bloqueo ANARANJADA hasta la posición de

OPEN y levantando la Placa hacia arriba.

Una vez abierta, la Placa Tensora de Cinturones permanecerá abierta

por su cuenta. La Palanca de Bloqueo deberá estar en posición

OPEN con la Placa abierta.

5. Encamine cuidadosamente el cinturón de regazo por debajo

de la Placa Tensora de Cinturones y a través de las Guías

de Cinturones por ambos lados de la Base. ABROCHE

EL CINTURÓN. Elimine la holgura del cinturón de regazo.

Asegúrese que los cinturones estén planos y no torcidos.

SIEMPRE encamine el cinturón de seguridad del vehículo POR

DEBAJO de la lengüeta de la Guía del Cinturón. JAMÁS coloque un

cinturón de seguridad por encima de la lengüeta de la Guía del

Cinturón. Ni siquiera en vehículos que tengan la base de la hebilla

más larga.

6. Asegúrese que el cinturón de regazo esté

BLOQUEADO. Consulte el Manual del Propietario

para obtener mayores informes.

En este punto, elimine solamente la holgura de los cinturones del

vehículo con cuidado de no apretarlos demasiado. La Placa Tensora

de Cinturones tensará completamente el sistema. Si previamente

instaló el asiento utilizando el sistema LATCH, asegúrese que la

correa del sistema LATCH permanezca plana en la parte inferior de la

Base. Vea la sección "Para Almacenar" en la página 27.

7. Asegúrese que el extremo libre del cinturón de regazo no esté

estorbando. NO DEBE INTERFERIR con el cierre del Tensor

del Cinturón o con la conexión entre el Porta Bebé y la Base.

8. Presione la Placa Tensora de Cinturones hacia abajo con

Si la Placa Tensora de Cinturones no se bloquea, intente aojar

ligeramente el cinturón del vehículo.

9. Tome la Base en las Guías de Cinturón y tire de ella de

lado a lado y del frente hacia atrás para asegurarse que

haya quedado instalada correctamente. La Base no debería

moverse más de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) en cualquier dirección.

Si la Base se mueve demasiado, abra la Placa Tensora de Cinturones

y elimine una mayor cantidad de holgura del cinturón del vehículo,

cierre la Placa y vuelva a vericar. Después de esto, si la Base se

sigue moviendo demasiado, es posible que tenga que probar en un

asiento distinto del vehículo o con un método de instalación diferente,

o ambos.

10. Oprima la Manija de Ajuste de la Pata de Carga y extiéndala

hasta que el Extremo haga contacto rme con el piso del

vehículo. Bloquee la Pata en su lugar usando el primer agujero

que le permita bloquearla rmemente en contacto con el piso

del vehículo.

Podría ser necesario levantar la Base para permitir que la Pata quede

bloqueada en su lugar. Consulte la página 28.

11. Verique que el Ángulo de Reclinación está en el rango

indicado correcto para el peso del niño. De no ser así, retire

la Base, ajuste el ángulo de reclinación y vuelva a instalar.

Consulte la página 29.

Asegúrese que la hebilla y el mecanismo del cinturón de seguridad

del vehículo no intereran con la correcta instalación del Base, o con

la conexión entre el Porta Bebé y la Base.

2. Levante el Porta Bebé por el Asa y deslice la Varilla de

en la Base hasta escuchar un CLIC sonoro.

El Botón de Seguridad verde saltará fuera de la parte central del Botón

de Liberación del Porta Bebé para indicar que ambos elementos se

jaron correctamente.

El cloud Q puede tocar el respaldo del (los) asiento(s) en frente,

siempre y cuando el ángulo de reclinación del Cloud Q no se vea

afectado.

PARA LIBERAR EL PORTA BEBÉ DE LA BASE

1. Oprima el botón de seguridad VERDE

posición de Acarreo antes de levantar el Porta Bebé por

el asa. Un asa que no está bloqueada podría moverse

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ CON LA BASE

1. Coloque el porta bebé el asiento posterior del vehículo, con el asa

en la posición de MANEJAR, con la punta del extremo colocada

rmemente hacia el asiento trasero, empuje rmemente contra el

asiento del vehículo.

2. Guiar únicamente el cinturón de regazo del vehículo debajo de

ambas Guías de Cinturón. ABROCHE EL CINTURÓN.

3. Levante el cinturón de hombro por encima del asa y alrededor del

Porta Bebé. Deslice el cinturón de hombro en la Guía de Cinturón

de hombro de color PLATA

a . Asegúrese que el cinturón de

hombros pase por debajo de los dispositivos de Protección Lateral

contra Impactos Laterales (L.S.P., por sus siglas en inglés) de

ambos lados.

4. BLOQUEE el cinturón de seguridad de regazo-hombro. Consulte

el Manual del Propietario de su vehículo

para averiguar cómo

se bloquea el cinturón de regazo y hombro.

En la mayoría de los vehículos, se puede cambiar el retractor del cinturón de

hombro al modo de bloqueo extrayendo totalmente el cinturón de hombro. En

algunos vehículos la hebilla se bloquea. Consulte el Manual del Propietario

para ver cómo su sistema se bloquea.

Para vericar si el cinturón del vehículo está cerrado, después de haber

instalado el Porta Bebé, tire con rmeza del cinturón de regazo entre los Guías

del Cinturón. El cinturón debe permanecer apretado si el sistema del vehículo

está bloqueado.

5. Empuje rmemente el Porta Bebé en el asiento del vehículo,

presionando hacia abajo cerca de la correa de la entrepierna

entre las piernas del niño, mientras se quita la holgura del cinturón

de seguridad. Repita esto para el cinturón de hombro.

6. Asegúrese que el cierre del cinturón del vehículo y partes duras

NO INTERFIERAN con el Porta Bebé.

sujeción infantil en un vehículo.

Utilice este método de instalación alterno solamente cuando el

método preferido que aparece en la página 37 no funciona con

los cinturones de regazo y hombros de su vehículo.

1. Coloque el Porta Bebé en un asiento trasero del vehículo con la

punta del extremo colocada rmemente contra el respaldo del

asiento del vehículo

2. Guiar únicamente el cinturón de regazo del vehículo debajo de

ambas Guías de Cinturón. ABROCHE EL CINTURÓN.

3. BLOQUEE el cinturón de seguridad de regazo-hombro. Consulte

el Manual del Propietario de su vehículo

para averiguar cómo

se bloquea el cinturón de regazo y hombro.

En la mayoría de los vehículos, se puede cambiar el retractor del cinturón de

hombro al modo de bloqueo extrayendo totalmente el cinturón de hombro. En

algunos vehículos la hebilla se bloquea. Consulte el Manual del Propietario

para ver cómo su sistema se bloquea.

Para vericar si el cinturón del vehículo está cerrado, después de haber

instalado el Porta Bebé, tire con rmeza del cinturón de regazo entre los

Guías del Cinturón. El cinturón debe permanecer apretado si el sistema del

vehículo está bloqueado.

4. Empuje rmemente el porte bebé en el asiento del vehículo,

el lado para que no interera.

Extienda el dispositivo L.S.P. en el lado del Cloud Q junto a

la puerta del vehículo o en el panel hasta escuchar un CLIC

perceptible. Si el dispositivo de L.S.P. está en contacto con

la puerta o el panel, retraer el L.S.P. a la posición intermedia

presionando el botón y empujando en el L.S.P.

Presionar el botón mientras empuja el L.S.P. nuevamente dentro

del Porta Bebé

SIEMPRE UTILICE un dispositivo L.S.P. del lado del

sistema de sujeción infantil inmediatamente contiguo a

la puerta o panel del vehículo.

JAMÁS extienda el dispositivo L.S.P. en dirección de un

pasajero o de otro sistema de sujeción infantil.

JAMÁS extienda el sistema de sujeción infantil con los

dispositivos L.S.P. puestas.

USO DE PROTECCIÓN LINEAR CONTRA IMPACTOS LATERALES (L.S.P.)

Es muy importante para la seguridad del niño que el Sistema

de Sujeción Infantil quede instalado en el ángulo correcto.

AJUSTE DEL ÁNGULO

Ajuste el ángulo del asiento hasta que la Línea de Nivel ROJA

del Porta Bebé esté nivelada con el piso.

Si está teniendo dicultades en lograr el ángulo de reclinación

correcto:

1. Desinstale el Porta Bebé.

2. Coloque una toalla bien enrollada o un pedazo de otador de

piscina de polietileno debajo del Porta Bebé, en los lugares

señalados. Si se encuentra en una aeronave puede utilizar una

manta de la aerolínea bien enrollada.

3. Continúe con la instalación.

NO UTILICE éste o ningún otro Sistema de Sujeción

Infantil con un bebé prematuro, de bajo peso o

condición delicada sino hasta que haya consultado

a su médico. Los bebés prematuros podrían tener

dicultad para respirar o presentar algunos otros

problemas médicos si se les coloca en postura de

sentados.

Si el Sistema de Sujeción Infantil está DEMASIADO

VERTICAL, la cabeza del niño puede inclinarse hacia

adelante y ocasionarle problemas respiratorios. Si está

DEMASIADO RECLINADO la protección en caso de

choque se verá reducida.

Si el Sistema de Sujeción Infantil no está correctamente

reclinado en el asiento del vehículo, el riesgo de muerte

o lesiones graves se incrementa.

AJUSTE DEL ÁNGULO DE RECLINACIÓN CON SIN BASE

La Administración Federal de Aviación de los Estados Unidos

recomienda que los niños de hasta 40 libras (18 Kg.) de peso

utilicen un asiento infantil certicado provisto de arnés al

viajar en una aeronave. El Cloud Q está certicado para uso

en aviones.

INSTALAR EL PORTA BEBÉ EN UNA AERONAVE

Instale su Porta Bebé en un asiento de ventanilla para evitar

bloquear el acceso al pasillo.

1. Coloque el Porta Bebé orientado hacia atrás en un asiento de

la aeronave con la punta del extremo colocada rmemente

contra el respaldo.

2. Encamine el cinturón de regazo debajo de ambas Guías de

Cinturón. ABROCHE EL CINTURÓN.

3. Empuje el Porta Bebé rmemente en el asiento de la aeronave

mientras elimina la holgura del cinturón de regazo.

4. Verique el ángulo de reclinación. Ajuste el ángulo del asiento

hasta que la línea ROJA del Porta Bebé esté nivelada con

el piso de la aeronave. Se puede colocar una manta de la

aerolínea bien enrollada debajo del Porta Bebé en los lugares

señalados, para ajustar el ángulo. Consulte la página 43.

5. Tome el Porta Bebé en las Guías de Cinturón y tire de él de

lado a lado y del frente hacia atrás para asegurarse que haya

quedado instalado correctamente. El Porta Bebé no debería

moverse más de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) en cualquier dirección.

USO DEL PORTA BEBÉ EN UNA AERONAVE

El sistema de arnés integrado no debe ser removido

del asiento. NUNCA retire ni intente cambiar partes del

sistema de arnés

NO dañe, quite o tire a la basura algún corcho blanco

EPS.

NUNCA utilice el Porta Bebé sin la Funda del Asiento

adecuadamente instalado.

PARA RETIRAR LA FUNDA DEL ASIENTO

Para remover favor de seguir los siguientes pasos:

• Soltar la hebilla del cinturón

• Desabrochar ambas almohadillas de hombros del cinturón

• Si se utiliza el Inserto para bebé, simplemente desabrochar

los dos broches de presión que están alrededor de las correas

del arnés

• Tire de la cubierta de apoyo para la cabeza sobre el borde

• Suelte los dos broches de presión que conectan la cubierta

del respaldo

• Suelte los dos broches de presión que crean la ranura del

arnés

• Suelte los dos broches negros que sujetan la tela de la

capucha y empujar la capucha hacia adelante

• Suelte los tres broches de presión gris de la parte superior de

la concha de plástico

• Suelte los dos broches de doble acción color plata - mismo que

para las correas de la capucha

• Desenhebrar la tela alrededor Hebilla de Cinturón Europea y

los dispositivos LSP, después tirar hacia arriba sobre la parte

superior.

• Tire hacia adelante y sobre las alas laterales, soltar los 2

broches gris y los 2 de plata que se conectan a la cubierta

del soporte de las piernas, así como los 2 broches gris que

se conectan a la concha de plástico y retirar la cubierta del

respaldo.

• Recline totalmente el asiento, soltar los broches por debajo de

la correa de piernas. Por último pasar la Hebilla del Arnés a

través de la Almohadilla de la Hebilla.

PARA INSTALAR LA FUNDA DEL ASIENTO

Siga las instrucciones a la inversa para reinstalar la Funda del

Asiento.

Jamás lavar a máquina con agua tibia o caliente

No secar en secadora

No planchar

No utilice blanqueadores

CORREAS DEL ARNÉS

Limpie con esponja utilizando agua tibia y jabón suave. Secar al

aire libre. No planchar

HEBILLA DEL ARNÉS

Pásele una esponja o enjuáguela completamente con agua tibia.

Verique abrochando y desabrochando hasta escuchar un CLIC

sonoro luego de insertar cada lengüeta de la hebilla en la Hebilla.

Si no se escucha un clic sonoro, repita el proceso de limpieza.

en la ubicación de asientos admisible del vehículo?

En caso de utilizarse, ¿ésta la Base bien instalada

con la Pata de Carga bloqueada rmemente contra

el piso del vehículo siempre que es posible?

¿Es correcto el ángulo de reclinación según el

Indicador de Nivel o la Línea de Nivel ROJA?

¿Está el Posicionador Perfecto ajustado en la posición

correcta para el tamaño del bebé con las Ranuras del

Arnés a nivel, o por debajo de los hombros del niño?

¿Las Ranuras del Arnés que está utilizando, están

a la altura o debajo de los hombros del niño?

¿Está el arnés rmemente colocado con el Clip

de Pecho ubicado a nivel de las axilas?

¿Está el arnés ceñido y no torcido?

¿Está el Porta Bebé rmemente jado en la Base?

¿Está visible el botón de seguridad VERDE?

Si el sistema de sujeción infantil está junto a una puerta o panel

del vehículo, ¿está el dispositivo L.S.P. adyacente levantada?

¿Pesa el niño entre 4 y 35 libras (1.8—15.9 kg)?

¿Mide el niño menos de 30 pulgadas (76 cm)?

¿Está la parte de la cabeza del niño a más de 1 pulgada

PRÁCTICAS SEGURAS DE CONDUCCIÓN

• JAMÁS conduzca bajo los efectos del alcohol o droga.

• JAMÁS conduzca distraído (utilizando el teléfono celular,

enviando textos, atendiendo a los niños).

• Todos viajan con el cinturón de seguridad abrochado o el

vehículo ¡No arranca! ¡NO HAGA EXCEPCIONES! Ni para

adultos ni para niños.

• Si alguien se desabrocha, ¡el vehículo se DETIENE! Ser rme

y constante resultará en menos problemas de disciplina a

medida que los niños vayan creciendo.

• JAMÁS deje objetos sueltos (comestibles, libros, bolsas, etc.)

en un vehículo. En caso de un frenado súbito, los objetos

sueltos seguirán desplazándose con el potencial de ocasionar

lesiones graves.

• JAMÁS deje objetos sueltos deje solo a un niño en un

vehículo.

• SIEMPRE mantenga las puertas del vehículo con seguro

cuando el vehículo está estacionado y desatendida para evitar

que los niños se suban en el interior.

• Siempre mantenga el asa bloqueada en la posición Manejar

cuando utilice este sistema de sujeción infantil en el asiento

del vehículo.
