Precision facial grooming has never been eas-

ier than with your new Conair SWITCHCUT™

Complete Facial Grooming System. With a

simple slide of the button, switch between

the 30mm stainless steel trimmer blade and

the 8mm stainless steel detailing blade. This

all-purpose trimmer has stainless steel blades

for long-lasting cutting precision. The trim-

mer features turbo power for 15% more

cutting power, and a 3-position taper control

switch to trim hair at the length you set; the

system includes 3 jawline combs, a 10-posi-

tion adjustable comb for the trimmer blade,

a mustache comb, a drawstring accessories

pouch to hold all components, a charging

stand for the trimmer, lubricating oil, a clean-

ing brush and shaving foil attachment. The red

LED light on the trimmer indicates when the

unit is charging.

Your SWITCHCUT™ trimmer incorporates our

patent-pending SWITCHCUT™ technology.

When you have finished trimming with the

30mm trimmer blade, it is just a simple slide

of a button to change from the main trimming

blade to the 8mm detailing blade for tight areas

and precision detail. This easy motion, which

should be done when the trimmer’s power is

on, disengages the trimmer blade and activates

the detailing blade. To change back to the trim-

mer blade, just simply slide the button back and

the detailing blade retracts. The trimmer blade is

now ready to use again. Be sure to push the top

housing to the front or rear to the outmost posi-

tion until a 'click' is felt for the selection of Scribe

or Trimmer blade function.

NOTE: Before switching between the trim-

mer and detailing blades, all guide combs

must be removed from the unit. For best

results when switching between the blades,

switch the blades while the power is on

and the blades are not against the face.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your rechargeable trimmer does not seem to

be taking a charge, take the following trouble-

shooting steps before returning it for repair:

1. Be sure the electrical outlet is working

by plugging in another appliance to test the

outlet.

2. Make sure the electrical plug is not con-

nected to a switch which turns power off

when lights are turned off.

3. Be sure you have inserted the trimmer

properly into the charging stand, that all con-

nections are secure, and that the trimmer

switch is in the “OFF” position.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Before using your trimmer for the first time,

place the unit in the charging stand and charge

it for 16 hours. Always place the trimmer in

the base with the ON/OFF switch in the OFF

position.

2. The trimmer in the charging stand. The switch

must face forward for the trimmer to slide prop-

erly into the base and fixed firmly.

3. Plug the adaptor into any wall outlet (at the

voltage listed on the label affixed to the adaptor).

Unplug adaptor when not in use.

4. The adaptor may become warm while charg-

ing. This is normal.

5. Battery life can be improved by periodi-

cally allowing the trimmer to run until the

motor stops. Immediately shut the switch

OFF and fully recharge.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR TRIMMER

OILING THE BLADES

About once a month you should oil the trimmer

blades with the oil provided in your kit. It is

best to do this over a piece of newspaper. Turn

the trimmer on and hold it so that the blades

are pointed downward. Spread one drop of oil

across the blades, then turn the trimmer off and

wipe away the excess oil with a soft cloth.

Be careful not to use too much oil and don’t

oil your trimmer more than necessary, as this

could damage the motor. (Never attempt to

oil the motor bearing, as it is permanently

lubricated.) After oiling the blades, return the

trimmer and oil packet to the trimmer storage

base. Keep oil away from children.

BLADE CARE

Because the trimmer blades are precision-

made for a very special use, they should

always be handled with care. Each time you

finish using the trimmer, take the cleaning

brush provided and brush away any loose hair

that has collected in the blades. Then store

the trimmer in its recharging storage base to

protect the blades until the next use.

Be especially careful when changing or adjusting

blades. When you have your trimmer serviced,

be sure that both blades are sharpened or

replaced at the same time.

To promote the long life of the appliance, use

your trimmer only for the purpose intended

by the manufacturer – to trim your beard and

mustache.

TURBO FEATURE

This product is equipped with a turbo boost but-

ton. When activated, this will provide 15% more

cutting power. This is especially useful for cutting

through thicker hair.

To activate the turbo feature:

1. Turn the Power switch to the “on” position.

2. Press the Turbo button.

3. Continue to press the Turbo button for as

long as you need the extra power.

4. Release the Turbo button to return to normal

power.

THREE POSITION TAPER CONTROL

The Conair trimmer taper

control switch is positioned

at the back of the unit. You

can hold the trimmer in your

hand and adjust the switch

as needed. The taper control

eliminates the need in some

situations for an attachment comb because it

lets you gradually adjust the closeness of the

cut. For closest cut and shortest hair, push

switch all the way to level #3. This is the set-

ting to use for the 2 day shave look. To increase

the cutting length, slowly push control down to

level #2 or #1 for longer cut. Note that too much

clipped hair on the clipper can slow down its

operation. To remove it without removing the

blades simply use the enclosed cleaning brush

and gently sweep away the clipped hair from

cutting surfaces. Note: The taper control only

works with the main 30mm trimmer blade.

GROWING A BEARD AND MUSTACHE

There are three key factors that will determine

which beard or mustache style is best for you:

1. The shape and dimensions of your face.

2. The natural growth of your beard/ mustache.

3. The thickness of your beard/mustache. If you

are unsure about the type of beard or mustache

that would most suit your face, speak with a

professional hair stylist and ask for an opinion

on what style would be best. Once your beard

or mustache has been styled, it is essential that

you maintain its appearance. To do this, use your

trimmer to trim your beard/mustache weekly.

For the best trimming results, your beard

should be slightly damp (NOT WET) when using

your trimmer. This will prevent the trimmer from

removing more hair than desired.

TYPES OF BEARDS/MUSTACHES

GETTING STARTED:

OUTLINING YOUR BEARD

1. It is always best to begin with a clean, slightly

damp beard.

2. After you have combed through your beard

in the direction it grows naturally, you will

want to outline the desired shape, beginning

under your jawline.

3. Begin defining your beard’s

shape under your chin and

work upward on each side of

your face toward your ears.

Then define the upper outline of your beard

across your cheeks, past your sideburns, and

toward your hairline.

NOW YOU’RE READY TO TRIM

YOUR BEARD

1. The trimmer includes a 10-position comb

for use with the hair trimming blade (2-6.5mm)

which provide lengths of 2mm (shortest) to

6.5mm (longest).

2. To use the 10-position

comb, slide the unit over

the trimmer blades and

snap it down into posi-

tion. At first, until you

become familiar with the

adjustments, use the longest trim setting. (You

can always go back and make your beard a

little shorter.)

When using the 10-position comb, turn the

wheel at the bottom of the comb counter-clock-

wise, the setting (1-10) will read the designated

trimming length:

3. Begin trimming your beard

using smooth, even strokes.

Start with your sideburns and

work downward toward your

chin. (Never attempt to trim against the natu-

ral growth of your beard because the hair will

be cut too short.)

4. If you decide you want a closer trim, you can

now adjust the 10-position comb attachment to

a shorter setting (such as 5.5mm or 6mm) and

go over your beard again until you achieve the

desired length.

BLENDING THE JAWLINE

1. The three jawline attachments will help you to

achieve a neat, finished trim under your chin. To

use one of the attachments, press it down over

the trimmer blades until it clicks into position.

2. Hold the trimmer in an upright position

and begin trimming under your jawline, using

short, even strokes.

3. After your beard is blended, turn off the trim-

mer and remove the attachment by gently pull-

ing up on tab.

TO TRIM YOUR MUSTACHE

1. For best results, start with a clean, slightly

damp mustache.

2. Comb through your mus-

tache in the direction it grows.

3. Place the 10-position comb

over the facial hair blade and

snap it into position. It is a good idea to start with

the longest trim setting adjustment. (You can

always go back and cut your mustache more

closely with a shorter setting.)

4. After your mustache has

been trimmed to the desired

length, remove the 10-posi-

tion comb and, using the

blades only, define the outline of the bottom

of your mustache.

INSTRUCCIONES

Se le hará más fácil que nunca cuidar su apari-

encia con el sistema de recorte SWITCHCUT™.

La recortadora está dotada de dos duraderas

y precisas cuchillas de acero inoxidable, una

de 30 mm para barba y bigote y una de 8 mm

para cortes de detalle. ¡Lo mejor, es que basta

deslizar un botón para cambiar de cuchilla!

La recortadora también está equipada con un

botón turbo que ofrece un 15% más potencia

y un botón regulador de corte con tres posicio-

nes, que sirve para cambiar el largo del corte

sin tener que instalar un peine-guía encima

de la cuchilla. Además de esto, el sistema

incluye tres guías para la quijada, un peine-

guía ajustable con 10 posiciones, un peine

para el bigote, un estuche para guardar todos

los accesorios, una base de carga, aceite

lubricante, un cepillo de limpieza y un cabezal

de rasuradora.

La recortadora SWITCHCUT™ emplea la tec-

nología SWITCHCUT™, con patente en trámite.

Esta tecnología permite cambiar de cuchilla

deslizando un botón. Cuando termine de uti-

lizar la cuchilla para barba y bigote de 30

mm, apague el aparato y desliza el botón.

Se retraerá la cuchilla de 30 mm y saldrá la

cuchilla de detalle de 8 mm. Para volver a usar

la cuchilla de 30 mm, simplemente desliza el

botón otra vez. La cuchilla de detalle se retraerá

y la cuchilla para barba y bigote saldrá.

IMPORTANTE: Antes de deslizar el botón,

asegúrese que la unidad esté apagada y que

no haya peine-guía encima de la cuchilla. Aleje

las cuchillas del rostro antes de hacer esto.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

Si su aparato no se carga, siga los pasos

siguientes antes de contactar a un centro de

servicio:

INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN

1. Antes de usar el aparato por primera vez,

RECORTADORA PARA

BARBA Y BIGOTE

LUBRICACIÓN DE LAS CUCHILLAS

Lubrique las cuchillas aproximadamente una

vez al mes, usando el aceite provisto. Para no

ensuciar, haga esto encima de un periódico.

Sostenga el aparato al revés y enciéndelo.

Coloque unas gotas de aceite sobre las cuchillas,

apague el aparato, y limpie el exceso de aceite

con un paño suave. No use demasiado aceite y

no lubrique el aparato más de lo necesario. Esto

podría lastimar el motor. Tampoco no intente

lubricar las piezas del motor. Éstas no necesitan

lubricación. Después de lubricar las cuchillas,

ponga el aparato y el aceite lubricante en la

base. Mantenga el aceite fuera del alcance de

los niños.

LIMPIEZA DE LAS CUCHILLAS

BLas cuchillas fueron diseñadas con precisión

para un uso específico, y deberían recibir un

cuidado muy especial. Limpie las cuchillas

después de cada uso con el cepillo de limpieza

provisto, luego regrese el aparato en la base

de carga. Cuando sea necesario cambiar o

ajustar las cuchillas, haga esto con sumo

cuidado. Asegúrese que las dos cuchillas

BOTON REGULADOR DE CORTE

Su recortadora está equipada

con un botón que permite

ajustar lo largo del corte a

medida que corta la barba.

El botón está ubicado en la

parte trasera del aparato. El

botón de ajuste permite cor-

tar el pelo más corto o más largo, sin necesidad

de usar un peine-guía. Para un corte más corto,

empuje el botón hacia el nivel 3. Esto le dará

la apariencia de una barba de 2 días. Para un

corte más largo, empuje el botón hasta el nivel

2 ó 1. Su cortadora puede perder velocidad si

recortes de pelo están trabados en las cuchillas.

Para limpiar las cuchillas sin sacarlas, utilice

el cepillo de limpieza provisto. Importante: El

botón regulador de corte sólo funciona con la

cuchilla para barba y bigote.

BARBAS Y BIGOTES

El tipo de barba o de bigote que más conviene

a su rostro depende de:

1. La forma y el tamaño de su rostro.

2. La forma del crecimiento natural de su barba

o de su bigote.

3. El espesor de su barba o de su bigote.

Si no está seguro del tipo de barba o bigote

que le conviene, pida consejo a un barbero.

Después de dar forma a su barba o a su big-

ote, deberá mantener su aspecto, usando la

recortadora una vez por semana.

Para lograr resultados óptimos, humedezca

ligeramente su barba y su bigote antes de

recortarlos (no los moje). Esto evitará cortar

demasiado pelo.

TIPOS DE BARBAS Y BIGOTES

CÓMO CORTAR SU BARBA

EL CONTORNEO

1. Se le hará más fácil el contorneo y el recorte

si su barba está limpia y ligeramente hume-

decida.

2. Peine su barba en la dirección del cre-

cimiento natural del pelo antes de empezar a

darle forma.

3. Dé forma a su barba

empezando por debajo de la

quijada y subiendo hacia la

oreja por cada lado del rostro.

Siga dando forma al área de la mejilla, a las

patillas y al nacimiento del pelo.

EL RECORTE

1. Su cortadora incluye un peine-guía de 10

posiciones para uso con la cuchilla para barba y

bigote, y que corta el pelo de 2 mm a 6.5 mm.

2. Instale la guía encima

de la cuchilla para la barba

y bigote. Le recomenda-

mos que utilice la posición

más larga para empezar

TO TRIM YOUR GOATEE AND OTHER

PRECISION TRIMMING

For precision trimming of tight areas, you will

need to use the 8mm detailing blade.

1. Remove any guide comb that may be attached

to the trimmer.

2. With the power on or off, simply slide the top

button forward to change from the main trim-

ming blade to the 8mm detailing blade. This

easy motion disengages the trimmer blade and

activates the detailing blade.

3. Trim goatee or any other tight areas.

4. When precision trimming is completed,

slide the button back and the detailing blade

retracts.

5. The trimmer blade is now ready to use again.

SHAVING FOIL

Your trimmer includes a shaving foil. When

attached, it will allow you to shave close and

around your facial hair to provide an extra clean

look. Just move the shaving head in an up and

down gentle stroke to remove any stray hairs.

Be sure not to press to hard, as that could cause

some skin irritation.

After each use clean the shaving head as

follows:

1. Make sure the appliance off.

2. Remove the shaver head from the unit.

3. Remove the foil head from the shaving head

(press the two buttons on either side of the

shaving head and pull the foil head away).

4. Use the cleaning brush to gently remove

any hairs from the cutter and shaving head.

ON/OFF SWITCH

To operate, simply slide switch toward blade, to

stop push slide away from blade.

CARE OF YOUR TRIMMER

REPLACEMENT (REMOVAL) OF BLADE SET

To remove blade set from your

trimmer, make sure the trimmer

is in the OFF position. Remove

the blade set by placing thumb

against the smaller cutter and

pushing forward, releasing

the cutter assembly from the

trimmer housing. Replace with attachment and

reverse the removal procedure, only this time

place your thumb on the large cutter and snap

into place. Make sure the taper control is set to

the longest #1 position.

BATTERY REMOVAL

1. Pop-off decorative plate on bottom housing

(1).

2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver,

remove the two screws (2) at the back of the

trimmer.

3. Take the top housing (3) off the bottom

housing (4).

4. Remove the 4 screws (5 and 6) in the bat-

tery cover (7). Bring the batteries to the nearest

collection center for proper disposal. DO NOT

throw the battery into the normal municipal

waste system.

PERILLA Y OTROS CORTES

DE DETALLE

Utilice la cuchilla de detalle de 8 mm para todos

los cortes que requieren precisión, como la

perilla y otros cortes de detalle.

1. Apague la recortadora (OFF) y saque el peine-

guía de la cuchilla para barba y bigote si tiene

uno puesto.

2. Deslice el botón SWITCHUT™ para retraer

The taper control eliminates the need in some situations for an attachment comb because it lets you gradually adjust the closeness of the cut. For closest cut and shortest hair, push switch all the way to level #3. This is the setting to use for the 2 day shave look. To increase the cutting length, slowly push control down to level #2 or #1 for longer cut. Note that too much clipped hair on the clipper can slow down its operation. To remove it without removing the blades simply use the enclosed cleaning brush and gently sweep away the clipped hair from cutting surfaces. Note: The taper control only works with the main 30mm trimmer blade. Plug the adaptor into any wall outlet (at the voltage listed on the label affixed to the adaptor). Unplug adaptor when not in use. 4. The adaptor may become warm while charging. This is normal. 5. Battery life can be improved by periodically allowing the trimmer to run until the motor stops. Immediately shut the switch OFF and fully recharge. Taking Care of Your Trimmer Oiling the Blades About once a month you should oil the trimmer blades with the oil provided in your kit. It is best to do this over a piece of newspaper. Turn the trimmer on and hold it so that the blades are pointed downward. Spread one drop of oil across the blades, then turn the trimmer off and wipe away the excess oil with a soft cloth. Be careful not to use too much oil and don’t oil your trimmer more than necessary, as this could damage the motor. (Never attempt to oil the motor bearing, as it is permanently lubricated.) After oiling the blades, return the trimmer and oil packet to the trimmer storage base. Keep oil away from children. Blade Care Because the trimmer blades are precisionmade for a very special use, they should always be handled with care. Each time you finish using the trimmer, take the cleaning brush provided and brush away any loose hair that has collected in the blades. Then store the trimmer in its recharging storage base to protect the blades until the next use. Be especially careful when changing or adjusting blades. When you have your trimmer serviced, be sure that both blades are sharpened or replaced at the same time. To promote the long life of the appliance, use your trimmer only for the purpose intended by the manufacturer – to trim your beard and mustache. INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN 1.
