• Do not apply paraffin wax on open cuts or wounds, warts, inflamed
skin, or when the sensation of any extremities is decreased.
• Consult your physician if you have any questions or concerns about
acute inflammation and peripheral vascular disease or decreased
sensation of any extremity before using.
• Do not apply the hot wax near eyes or other heat sensitive areas.
• Discontinue use and consult a physician if the paraffin wax feels too
hot or if it does not feel warm enough. This may indicate a possible
physical problem.
• Discontinue use and consult your physician if dermatitis, discomfort,
irritation, or pain occurs from continued paraffin treatments.
• Test the paraffin wax on the inside of your wrist to make sure the
temperature is comfortable.

• Do not overfill the unit and always keep the paraffin wax level about 1.5
inches from the top of the bath.
• Never operate the unit without paraffin wax.
• Do not heat paraffin wax in its plastic packaging, nor heat it over
an open flame, on a range, stove or in a microwave.
• Do not pour the melted paraffin wax from the tub/unit.
• Unplug unit before filling with paraffin wax.
• Do not use accessories or wax not recommended or sold by HoMedics.
• If the supply cord is damaged, the entire unit must be replaced by
the HoMedics Service Center.
• Do not put water into the tub/unit.
Caution:
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, the
plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

Important Note:
This unit may feel very warm to sensitive skin. However, in order to fully
experience the therapeutic benefits of paraffin heat therapy, the wax
must be heated to a temperature between 123-131 degrees
Fahrenheit. This is the temperature utilized by the leading hospital
brand paraffin baths.
For proper application, quickly dip your hand into the melted
paraffin wax and remove immediately. This should be repeated
6-10 times. Never soak in the wax for more than 1-2 seconds.
If you are very sensitive to heat or feel that this appliance may not
be for you, please return this product to the place of purchase,
prior to use.
How to Set Up the ParaSpaPlus Unit
1. Remove all contents from packaging and check to make sure you
have all of the following components (See Figure 1) of the ParaSpa
paraffin bath:
• Paraffin bath tub
• 2 lbs. of Paraffin Wax
• 20 plastic liners
2. Place unit on a level and sturdy table or surface and lift the lid.
3. Make sure ParaSpa tub is empty and clean before putting wax into
tub.
4. Open the bags of paraffin wax and place wax in the tub. The unit is
designed to hold a maximum of 2.5 lbs. of paraffin wax and a
minimum of 2 lbs. Always keep the level of paraffin wax filled to the
“MIN” level marked on the inside of the tub but not over the “MAX”
line.
5. Plug the unit into a 110V/120V A/C household outlet.
6. Move the blue button to the “ON” position. The large oval button
will glow red. The red light indicates that the melting cycle has
started and is not yet ready for use. See Fig. 2. (Approximate
melting time is 2 hours).
7.The oval button will change from red to green when the wax is ready
to use. Depress the oval button to open the lid. Never dip your
hand in the wax until the button has changed from red to green.
8. Move the blue button to the “OFF” position when finished using the
unit.
NOTE
: NEVER dip your hand into the ParaSpa bath while the
LED light is red. This is the melt mode and will be too hot.

How to Use Paraffin Treatment
1. Before immersing your hand, test the paraffin wax on the inside of
your wrist to make sure the temperature of the wax is comfortable.
Remove all jewelry before dipping (i.e. rings, bracelets, watch).
NOTE: It is suggested you wash the area to be treated and apply
lanolin-based hand lotion over the area before dipping it into the
paraffin wax. This will allow the wax to be removed more easily and
will help moisturize the skin.
2. Dip your hand into the melted paraffin wax and remove immediately.
Wait a few seconds until the wax solidifies. Try to avoid moving your
hand while wax is applied. NOTE: Dipping process is quick. Do not
leave hand in the tub. Do not soak. Dip quickly in and out.
3. Repeat this step several times until several layers have formed, 6-10
coatings are suggested.
4. For longer heat treatment, place a plastic liner (provided) over the
treated area and twist bag at opening. Keep paraffin wax and liner
on treated area for 15-30 minutes for ultimate therapy. (See Figure 3)
5. Peel off the wax from the treated area. If using a plastic liner, peel
the plastic lining from the area being treated. Paraffin wax will peel
off with liner. (See Figure 4)
6. Discard used wax. If you are the only person using the ParaSpa, the
wax can be re-used. Simply put it back into the tub to re-melt.
Maintenance
Periodically, the used portion of paraffin wax should be replaced and
the unit should be cleaned.
1. Unplug unit, allow paraffin wax to solidify overnight.
2. Push on one end of paraffin wax block. This will tip it up. Lift the
block out of the unit and dispose of it. DO NOT USE SHARP
OBJECTS TO REMOVE THE PARAFFIN WAX BLOCK, THIS MAY
SCRATCH OR DAMAGE THE TUB. If the paraffin wax does not
remove easily, plug unit in and allow to heat for 10–15 minutes
then remove the paraffin wax block and unplug the unit.
3. Wipe the inside of the unit with a disposable towel to remove
residual dirt and paraffin.
4. With a damp, soapy cloth, wipe clean. DO NOT POUR WATER
INTO THE UNIT, OR IMMERSE THE UNIT IN WATER.
5. Store in a cool, dry place. When you are ready to re-use the
ParaSpa bath for the next heat treatment, repeat steps 2-7, “How to
set up the ParaSpaPlus unit”. Then, follow steps 1-6, “How to Use
Paraffin Treatment”.

material and workmanship for a period of one year from the
date of original purchase, except as noted below.
This HoMedics product warranty does not cover damage
caused by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any
unauthorized accessory; alteration to the product; or any other
conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of
HoMedics. This warranty is effective only if the product is pur-
chased and operated in the USA. A product that requires mod-
ification or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country
other than the country for which it was designed, manufac-
tured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products dam-
aged by these modifications is not covered under warranty.
HoMedics shall not be responsible for any type of incidental,
consequential or special damages. All implied warranties,
including but not limited to those implied warranties of fitness
and merchantability, are limited in the total duration of one
year from the original purchase date.
To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, either
hand deliver or mail the unit and your dated sales receipt (as
proof of purchase), postpaid, along with check or money order
in the amount of $5.00 payable to HoMedics, Inc. to cover
handling.
Upon receipt, HoMedics will repair or replace, as appropriate,
your product and return it to you, postpaid. If it is appropriate
to replace your product, HoMedics will replace the product
with the same product or a comparable product at HoMedics
option. Warranty is solely through HoMedics Service Center.
Service of this product by anyone other than HoMedics
Service Center voids warranty.
This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may
have additional rights which may vary from state to state.
Because of individual state regulations, some of the above
limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

una estufa, cocina o en un horno de microondas.
• NO vierta la parafina derretida del baño/unidad.

Precaución:
Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (un espigo es más
ancho que el otro). Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, el
enchufe está diseñado para encajar en un tomacorriente
polarizado de una sola manera. Si el enchufe no encaja
completamente en el tomacorriente, invierta el enchufe. Si aún así
no encaja, póngase en contacto con un electricista calificado.
Beneficios terapéuticos
• La terapia de calor de la parafina sella el calor el interno y envuelve el área
adolorida proporcionando el mejor tratamiento de calor y humedad.
• Es útil en el alivio sintomático del dolor causado por el artritis, bursitis, y la
inflamación crónica de las articulaciones.
• Relaja los músculos, alivia los espasmos y la rigidez muscular.
• Estimula la circulación.
• Suaviza y alivia la piel seca y rajada.
Observación importante:
Este unidad puede ser muy caliente para la piel delicada. Sin embargo, para
experimentar en su totalidad los beneficios terapéuticos de la terapia del calor de
la parafina, la cera debe calentarse a una temperatura entre 123 y 131 grados
Fahrenheit. Esta es la temperatura empleada por los baños de parafina de las
marcas hospitalarias más reconocidas.
La aplicación correcta requiere que usted sumerja las manos en la parafina
derretida y las retire de inmediato. Esto debería repetirse de 6 a 10 veces.
No deje que el remojo en la cera dure más de 1 ó 2 segundos.
Si usted es muy sensible al calor o siente que este artefacto no es para
usted, por favor devuélvalo al lugar donde lo ha comprado, antes de usarlo
.
Cómo preparar la unidad ParaSpaPlus
1. Retire todo el contenido del empaque y asegúrese de que tiene todos las
siguientes partes del baño de parafina ParaSpa (ver Figura 1):
• Tina del baño de parafina
• 2 libras de parafina
• 20 forros de plástico
2. Coloque la unidad en una mesa o superficie firme y nivelada, y levante la tapa.
3. Asegúrese de que la tina del ParaSpa esté vacía y limpia antes de color la
cera dentro de la tina.
4. Abra las bolsas de parafina y coloque la parafina en la tina. Este unidad está
diseñada para contener un máximo de 2,5 libras de parafina y un mínimo de
2 libras. Mantenga siempre el nivel de parafina por encima del nivel mínimo
"MIN" indicado al interior de la tina, pero nunca por encima de línea del máxi-
mo "MAX".
5. Enchufe la unidad en un tomacorriente doméstico de 110-120 voltios de C.A.
6. Mueva el botón azul en la posición "ON" (encedido). El botón grande ovalado
brillará en color rojo. La luz roja indica que el ciclo de derretido ha empezado
y la unidad no está todavía lista para el uso. Ver Fig. 2 (El tiempo aproximado
para derretir la cera es de 2 horas).
7. Cuando la cera está lista para el uso, el botón ovalado cambia del color rojo
al verde. Para abrir la tapa, oprima el botón ovalado. No sumerja nunca las
manos en la cera hasta que el botón ha cambiado del rojo al verde.
8. Cuando ha terminado de usar la unidad, mueva el botón azul a la posición
"OFF" (apagado).
ATENCIÓN: NUNCA sumerja su mano en el baño ParaSpa cuando la luz
LED es roja. Esta es la modalidad de derretido y es demasiado caliente.

Cómo usar el tratamiento de parafina
1. Antes de sumergir su mano, pruebe la parafina al interior de su pulso para
asegurarse de que la temperatura es confortable. Antes de sumergir, retire
cualquier hoya (por ejemplo, anillos, pulseras, reloj).
ATENCIÓN: Es aconsejable lavar el área que va a ser tratada y aplicar una
loción de manos con base de lanolina antes de sumergirla en la parafina.
Esto permite quitar la cera más fácilmente y ayuda a humedecer la piel.
2. Sumerja la mano en parafina derretida y retírela de inmediato. Espere unos
segundos hasta que la cera se haya solidificado. Trate de evitar mover la
mano mientras esté aplicando la cera. ATENCIÓN: El proceso de inmersión
es rápido. No deje la mano en la tina. No la enjuague. Sumerja rápidamente
y retire.
3. Repita este paso varias veces hasta formar varias capas; se aconseja lograr
de 6 a 10 capas.
4. Para un tratamiento de calor más largo, coloque un forro de plástico (que se
proporciona) sobre el área a tratar y tuerza la abertura del talego. Para lograr
la mejor terapia, mantenga la parafina y el forro en al área tratada por 15-30
minutos. (Vea la Figura 3.)
5. Pele la cera del área tratada. Si ha usado un forro de plástico, pele el forro de
plástico del área tratada. La parafina se quitará con el forro. (Vea la Figura 4.)
6. Deseche la cera usada. Si usted es la única persona que usa el ParaSpa, la
cera puede volver a usarse. Simplemente vuelva a colocarla en la tina y a
derretirla.
Mantenimiento
Periódicamente, la cantidad usada de parafina debe ser reemplazada
y debe limpiarse la unidad.
1. Desenchufe la unidad, deje que la cera se solidifique hasta el día siguiente.
2. Empuje un extremo del bloque de parafina. Esto hará que sobresalga. Retire
el bloque de la unidad y deséchelo. NO USE OBJETOS FILOSOS PARA
QUITAR EL BLOQUE DE PARAFINA, ESTO PUEDE RAYAR O DAÑAR LA
TINA. Si la parafina no sale con facilidad, enchufe la unidad y déjela calen-
tarse por 10-15 minutos, luego retire el bloque de parafina y desenchufe la
unidad.
3. Limpie el interior de la unidad con una toalla desechable para quitar los resid-
uos de suciedad y parafina.
4. Termine la limpieza con un paño húmedo y jabonoso. NO PONGA AGUA EN
LA UNIDAD, NI LA SUMERJA EN AGUA.
5. Guárdela en un lugar fresco y seco. Cuando esté listo para volver a usar el
baño ParaSpa para el próximo tratamiento de calor, repita los pasos de 2 a 7,
"Cómo preparar la unidad ParaSpaPlus". Luego, siga los pasos de 1 a 6,
"Cómo usar el tratamiento de parafina".
