HoMedics, Inc., guarantees this product free from defects in material and work-

manship for a period of one year from the date of purchase, except as noted

below.

This HoMedics product warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or

abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to

the product; or any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of

HoMedics. This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and oper-

ated in the USA. A product that requires modification or adaptation to enable it

to operate in any country other than the country for which it was designed,

manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged by

these modifications is not covered under warranty. HoMedics shall not be

responsible for any type of incidental, consequential or special damages. All

implied warranties, including but not limited to those implied warranties of fit-

ness and merchantability, are limited in the total duration of one year from the

original purchase date.

To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, either hand deliver or

mail the unit and your dated sales receipt (as proof of purchase), postpaid,

along with check or money order in the amount of $5.00 payable to HoMedics,

Inc. to cover handling.

Upon receipt, HoMedics will repair or replace, as appropriate, your product and

return it to you, postpaid. Warranty is solely through HoMedics Service Center.

Service of this product by anyone other than HoMedics Service Center voids

warranty.

This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may have addition-

al rights which may vary from state to state. Because of individual state reg-

ulations, some of the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

hot or if it does not feel warm enough. This may indicate a possible

physical problem.

• Discontinue use and consult your physician if dermatitis, discomfort,

irritation, or pain occurs from continued paraffin treatments.

• Test the paraffin wax on the inside of your wrist to make sure the

temperature is comfortable.

• Do not overfill the unit and always keep the paraffin wax level about

2 inches from the top of the bath.

• Never operate the unit without paraffin wax.

• Do not heat paraffin wax in its plastic packaging, nor heat it over

an open flame, on a range, stove or in a microwave.

• Do not pour the melted paraffin wax from the tub/unit.

• Unplug unit before filling with paraffin wax.

• Do not use accessories or wax not recommended or sold by HoMedics.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by HoMedics‘

Service Center.

• Do not put water into the tub/unit.

Instructions for use:

This unit is a thermostatically controlled unit. The unit can hold a

maximum of 6 lbs. of paraffin wax for operation. The melting time

is less than 12 hours and it is designed for continuous run at 24 hours

per day.

Important Note:

This unit may feel very warm to sensitive skin. However, in order to fully

experience the therapeutic benefits of paraffin heat therapy, the wax

must be heated to a temperature between 123-131 degrees

Fahrenheit. This it the temperature utilized by the leading hospital

brand paraffin bathes.

For proper application, quickly dip the body area (i.e. hand, elbow or

foot) into the melted paraffin wax and remove immediately. This

should be repeated 6-10 times. Never soak in the wax for more than

1-2 seconds.

If you are very sensitive to heat or feel that this appliance may not be

for you, please return this product to the place of purchase,

prior to use.

How to set up the ParaSpa Deluxe unit:

1. Remove all contents from packaging and check to make sure you

have all of the following components of the ParaSpa Deluxe paraffin

bath:

2. Place unit on a level and sturdy table or surface and remove the lid.

3. Make sure ParaSpa Deluxe tub is empty before putting wax into tub.

4. Open the bags of Paraffin Wax and place wax into the tub. Open

only as many bags as you plan to use. The unit is designed to hold

a maximum of 6 lbs. of paraffin wax and a minimum of 3.5 lbs.

Always keep the level of paraffin wax filled to the “MIN” level

marked on the inside of the tub.

5. Plug the unit into a 110V/120V A/C household outlet. The green LED

light indicates when the unit is plugged in. The red light will turn on

and off as the heating element works.

Unit is automatically turned “on” when it is plugged in. If not

used in 48 to 72 hours, turn dial down to “SOLID”. If not used for

weeks at a time unplug unit and store in a cool, dry place.

6. Turn the dial to “MELT” to melt the paraffin wax.

The

paraffin wax should melt in less than 12 hours, usually in under 4-5

hours. The red LED light indicates that the heater element is

operating. Place the lid onto the top of the unit.

7. Turn the dial to “WARM” after paraffin wax is completely melted.

Remove the lid and place the grate into the wax and allow it to sink

to the bottom of the tub.

Place the lid back onto the top

of the unit. Wait about 1 hour for the paraffin wax to cool down to an

ideal temperature before using. The ParaSpa Deluxe unit is

designed to be used at room temperature. If the wax starts to

solidify or flakes form on the top surface, turn dial clockwise(right) to

increase the temperature.

NNOOTTEE::

The room temperature can have an effect on the unit’s

performance. Therefore we always recommend testing the paraffin

temperature on the inside of the wrist area before dipping your

entire hand, foot or elbow.

NNOOTTEE::

NEVER dip your hand, foot or elbow into the ParaSpa

Deluxe bath while the unit is in “MELT” mode!

NNOOTTEE::

Place the grate into the unit only when the paraffin wax

is melted.

How to use the paraffin treatment:

1. Before immersing your hand, elbow, or foot, test the paraffin wax on

the inside of your wrist to make sure the temperature of the wax

is comfortable.

NNOOTTEE::

It is suggested you wash the area to be treated and apply

lanolin-based hand lotion over the area before dipping it into the

paraffin wax. This will allow the wax to be removed easier and will

help moisturize the skin.

Try to avoid moving your hand, foot, or elbow while wax is applied.

Dipping process is quick. Do not leave hand, foot or elbow

in the tub. Do not soak. Dip quickly in and out.

3. Repeat this step several times until several layers have formed, 6-10

coatings are suggested. If paraffin wax temperature is too hot or too

cold, adjust the temperature accordingly. Turn the dial

clockwise(right) to increase the paraffin wax temperature or

counter-clockwise(left) to reduce the paraffin wax temperature.

4. For longer heat treatment, place a plastic liner (provided) over the

treated area and twist bag at opening. Keep paraffin wax and liner

on treated area for 10-20 minutes for ultimate therapy.

When using the paraffin bath with plastic liners on your

feet, do not walk around! This may cause you to slip and fall.

5. Peel off the wax from the treated area. If using a plastic liner, peel

the plastic lining from the area being treated. Paraffin wax will peel

off with liner.

6. Discard used wax.

NNOOTTEE::

If you are the only person using the ParaSpa Deluxe, the

wax can be re-used, simply put it back into the tub to re-melt.

Maintenance:

Periodically, the used portion of paraffin wax should be replaced and

the unit should be cleaned.

1. Unplug unit and remove grate. Allow paraffin wax to solidify

overnight.

2. Push on one end of paraffin wax block. This will tip it up. Lift the

block out of the unit and dispose of it. DO NOT USE SHARP

OBJECTS TO REMOVE THE PARAFFIN WAX BLOCK, THIS MAY

SCRATCH OR DAMAGE THE TUB. If the paraffin wax does not

remove easily, plug unit in and allow to heat for 10–15 minutes

then remove the paraffin wax block and unplug the unit.

3. Wipe the inside of the unit with a disposable towel to remove

residual dirt and paraffin.

4. With a damp, soapy cloth, wipe clean. DO NOT POUR WATER

INTO THE UNIT, OR IMMERSE THE UNIT IN WATER.

5. Store in a cool, dry place. When you are ready to re-use the

araSpa Deluxe paraffin bath for the next heat treatment, repeat

steps 2-7, “How to set up the ParaSpa Deluxe unit”. Then, follow

steps 1-6, “How to use the paraffin treatment”.

Esta unidad está controlada por un termostato. Para su funcionamiento la

unidad puede contener hasta 6 lbs. de parafina. El tiempo de derretido es menor

a 12 horas y está diseñado para funcionar en forma continua 24 horas por día.

Aviso importante:

Esta unidad puede sentirse demasiado caliente para pieles sensibles. Sin

embargo, para experimentar totalmente los beneficios terapéuticos de la terapia

de calor de parafina, la cera debe ser calentada a una temperatura comprendida

entre los 123 y 131 grados Fahrenheit. Esta es la temperatura que es utilizada

por los baños de parafina de la principal marca hospitalaria.

Para una aplicación adecuada, sumerja rápidamente el área del cuerpo (es

2. Coloque la unidad sobre una mesa o superficie firme y nivelada y quite la

tapa.

3. Asegúrese de que el recipiente ParaSpa Deluxe está vacío antes de poner

cera en el mismo.

4. Abra las bolsas de parafina y ponga la cera dentro del recipiente. Abra sólo la

cantidad de bolsas que planea usar. La unidad está diseñada para contener

un máximo de 6 lbs. de parafina y un mínimo de 3.5 lbs.

Siempre mantenga el nivel de parafina en el nivel marcado "MIN" en el interior

el recipiente, o por encima de éste.

5. Enchufe la unidad en un tomacorriente doméstico de 110V/120V C/A. La luz

verde de "Power" (energía) del LED indica cuando la unidad está enchufada.

La luz roja se encenderá y apagará mientras el elemento de calentamiento

esté funcionando.

La unidad se enciende automáticamente cuando se la enchufa.

Si no se utiliza durante 48 a 72 horas, gire el disco selector a la posición

"SOLID" (sólido). Si no se va a utilizar durante varias semanas desenchúfela y

guárdela en un lugar fresco y seco.

6. Gire el disco selector a "MELT" (derretir) para derretir la parafina.

La parafina debe derretirse en menos de 12 horas, generalmente entre 4 y 5

horas. La luz roja del LED indica que el elemento de calentamiento está en

7. Gire el disco selector a "WARM" (tibio) después de que la parafina se haya

derretido totalmente. Quite la tapa y coloque la rejilla dentro de la cera y deje

que se hunda hasta el fondo del recipiente.

tapa sobre la unidad. Antes del uso, espere aproximadamente 1 hora para

que la parafina se enfríe hasta alcanzar una temperatura ideal. La unidad

ParaSpa Deluxe está diseñada para ser usada a temperatura ambiente. Si la

cera comienza a solidificarse o se forman escamas en la superficie superior,

gire el disco selector hacia la derecha para aumentar la temperatura.

La temperatura ambiente puede ejercer un efecto en el

rendimiento de la unidad. Por lo tanto, siempre recomendamos probar la tem-

peratura de la parafina sobre el interior del área de la muñeca antes de sumer-

gir toda su mano, pie o codo.

¡NUNCA sumerja su mano, pie o codo en el baño ParaSpa

Deluxe mientras la unidad está en el modo "MELT" (derretir)!

Coloque la rejilla dentro de la unidad únicamente cuando la

parafina ya esté derretida.

Cómo usar el tratamiento de parafina:

1. Antes de sumergir su mano, codo o pie, pruebe la parafina en el interior de su

muñeca para asegurarse de que la temperatura de la cera le resulta cómoda.

: Se recomienda lavar el área a tratar, y aplicar una loción de

manos a base de lanolina sobre el área antes de sumergirla en la parafina.

Esto permitirá quitar la cera más fácilmente y le ayudará a humectar la piel.

2. Sumerja su mano, codo o pie dentro de la parafina derretida y retírelo de

inmediato. Espere algunos segundos hasta que la cera se solidifique. Intente

evitar mover su mano, pie o codo mientras la cera está aplicada.

: El proceso de inmersión es rápido. No deje la mano, pie o codo

dentro del recipiente. No lo deje en remojo. Sumerja y retire rápidamente.

. Repita este paso varias veces hasta que se hayan formado varias capas, se

ugieren 6-10 capas. Si la temperatura de la parafina es demasiado alta o

demasiado baja, ajuste la temperatura en conformidad. Gire el disco selector

hacia la derecha para aumentar la temperatura de la parafina o hacia la

izquierda para disminuir la temperatura de la misma.

4. Para un tratamiento de calor más prolongado, coloque un cobertor plástico

(proporcionado) sobre el área tratada y doble la bolsa en la abertura.

Cuando utiliza el baño de parafina con cobertores plásticos en

5. Quite la cera del área tratada. Si usó un cobertor plástico, quite el cobertor

plástico del área que está siendo tratada. La parafina se quitará junto con el

cobertor.

6. Deseche la cera usada.

: Si usted es la única persona que usa el ParaSpa Deluxe, la cera

puede volver a usarse; simplemente vuelva a colocarla dentro del recipiente

para derretirla nuevamente.

Mantenimiento:

Periódicamente, se debe reemplazar la porción de parafina usada y se debe

limpiar la unidad.

1. Desenchufe la unidad y quite la rejilla. Deje que la parafina se solidifique

durante la noche.

2. Presione sobre un extremo del bloque de parafina. Esto hará que se levante el

extremo opuesto. Levante el bloque y retírelo de la unidad para desecharlo.

NO USE OBJETOS FILOSOS PARA QUITAR EL BLOQUE DE PARAFINA,

ESTO PUEDE RAYAR O DAÑAR EL RECIPIENTE. Si no puede quitar el bloque

de parafina con facilidad, enchufe la unidad y deje que caliente durante 10-15

minutos, luego quite el bloque de parafina y desenchufe la unidad.

3. Limpie el interior de la unidad con una toalla desechable para quitar residuos

de suciedad y parafina.

4. Limpie la unidad con un paño humedecido y enjabonado. NO VIERTA AGUA

DENTRO DE LA UNIDAD NI LA SUMERJA EN AGUA.

5. Guárdela en un lugar fresco y seco. Cuando esté listo para volver a usar el

baño de parafina ParaSpa Deluxe para el siguiente tratamiento de calor, repita

los pasos del 2 al 7, "cómo ajustar la unidad ParaSpa Deluxe". Luego siga los

pasos 1-6, "Cómo usar el tratamiento de parafina".
