IMPORTANT

SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety

precautions should always be taken to reduce the risk

of fire, electric shock and/or injury to persons, including

the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and knobs.

3. To protect against electric shock, do not place cord,

plug, or base unit in water or other liquids.

4. This appliance should not be used by or near chil-

dren or individuals with certain disabilities.

5. Unplug from outlet when either the appliance or

display clock is not in use, and before cleaning.

Allow to cool before putting on or taking off

parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged

cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions

or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.

Return appliance to the nearest Cuisinart Repair

Center for examination, repair, and electrical or

mechanical adjustment.

7. The use of accessory attachments not

recommended by Cuisinart may cause injuries.

8. Do not use outdoors.

9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter,

or touch hot surfaces.

10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner,

or in a heated oven.

11. Always  ll water reservoir  rst, then plug cord into

the wall outlet. To disconnect, push the OFF button,

then remove plug from wall outlet.

12. Do not use appliance for other than its intended use.

13. Snap lid securely onto carafe before serving any

beverages.

14. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the

brewing cycle.

15. The glass carafe is designed for use with this

appliance only. It must never be used on the

range top.

16. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.

17. Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a

loose or weakened handle.

18. Do not lift handle to open the lid of the coffeemaker

while brewing is in progress.

19. Do not over ll the water reservoir with water.

Use ONLY WATER in this appliance! Do not put

any other liquids or foods in the water reservoir

except as instructed in the cleaning instructions in

this guide.

20. Do not clean carafe, heating plate or single-serve

drip tray with harsh cleansers, steel wool pads, or

other abrasive materials.

with this unit. OTHER GOLD-TONE PERMANENT

FILTERS MAY CAUSE THE COFFEEMAKER TO

OVERFLOW.

24. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance

garage or under a wall cabinet. When storing in an

appliance garage, always unplug the unit from

the electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a

risk of  re, especially if the appliance touches the

walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as

it closes.

25. Only use capsules intended for this appliance. If the

capsule does not  t, do not force the capsule into

the appliance.

26. WARNING: To avoid the risk of injury, do not open

the brew chamber during the brew process.

The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol

SPECIAL CORD SET

INSTRUCTIONS

A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the

risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping

over a longer cord.

Longer extension cords may be used if care

is exercised.

If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical

rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as

the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer

cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over

the countertop or tabletop, where it can be pulled on by

children or tripped over.

NOTICE

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider

than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this

plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the

plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

Do not modify the plug in any way.

OPERATING NOTICE

Clogging and backing up of water and/or coffee in the

filter basket can occur under any or a combination of

any of the following conditions: the use of too finely

ground coffee; using two or more paper filters; using

the gold-tone filter in conjunction with a paper filter; not

properly cleaning coffee grounds from the gold-tone

filter, or allowing coffee grounds to spill over the filter.

Caution: Never open the filter basket during the

brewing cycle, even if no water is draining from the filter

basket, since extremely hot water/coffee can spill out

from the filter basket and cause injury. If water/coffee is

not draining from the filter basket during the brewing

cycle, unplug the unit and wait 10 minutes before

opening and checking the filter basket.

UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the box on a large, sturdy,  at surface.

2. Remove the instruction book and any

other literature.

3. Turn the box so that the back side of the

coffeemaker is down and slide the coffeemaker

from the box.

4. After the coffeemaker has been removed, place the

box out of the way and lift off the packing material.

5. Grasp the carafe by its handle, remove it from the

heating plate, and remove the polybag.

6. Remove the polybag covering the coffeemaker.

Save all packing materials in case you have to ship the

machine in the future.

KEEP ALL PLASTIC BAGS AWAY FROM CHILDREN.

THE QUEST

FOR THE PERFECT

CUP OF COFFEE

ELEMENT 1: WATER

Coffee is 98% water. The quality of that

water is as important as the quality of your

coffee. If water doesn’t taste good from the

tap, it won’t taste good in your coffee.

Cuisinart includes a charcoal water filter

to remove chlorine, bad tastes and odors,

for the purest coffee flavor, every time

you brew.

ELEMENT 2: COFFEE

While coffee is 98% water, all of the

flavor comes from the beans. To achieve

the same great taste you enjoy at a coffee

bar, buy only a two-week supply of fresh

coffee beans at a time. Once the bean

is broken, its flavor degrades quickly.

That’s why Cuisinart grinds your beans

just prior to brewing.

ELEMENT 3: GRIND

The grind is critical for proper

flavor extraction. If the grind is too fine,

overextraction and bitterness will result.

Too fine a grind may also clog the filter.

If grind is too coarse, the water will

pass through too quickly and the

maximum flavor will not be extracted.

Your coffeemaker is preset for medium,

the optimal grind for this type of

brewing process.

ELEMENT 4: PROPORTION

Coffee that is too strong or too weak is

always a disappointment. Follow the

recommended portions of ground coffee in

the instructions under Brewing Coffee, and

later adjust the amount to suit your taste.

Stops  ow of coffee from basket when carafe is

9. Pod Button

Press once to activate single-serve side. Use to

select desired size of single-serve brew

(8, 10, 12 oz.).

10. Brew/Off/Auto Off Button

Press to begin single-serve brew cycle.

11. Clock/LCD display

When in Pod Brew mode:

a. Will display the last brew size selected. To change

the brew size, press and hold the POD button to

scroll through size options.

b. The Add Water icon indicates the need to add

water to brew.

WATER FILTER

INSERTING THE WATER FILTER

1. Remove the  lter from the polybag and soak,

fully immersed, in cold tap water for 15 minutes.

2. Lift the water  lter holder out of the water

reservoir of the 12-cup coffeemaker side.

3. Press down on the  lter compartment and pull

toward you to open.

4. Place  lter into the holder and snap closed.

Be careful – improper placement can tear the

 lter skin.

5. Flush  lter by running cold tap water

through holes in bottom of compartment

for 10 seconds.

6. Allow the filter to drain completely.

7. Slide the water  lter holder back into the chan-

nel in the water reservoir, pushing down to the

base of the unit.

NOTE: Repeat steps 1–7 above on the single-

serve side.

NOTE: We recommend changing the water filter

every 60 days or after 60 uses, and more often if

you have hard water.

SETTING UP YOUR

12-CUP COFFEEMAKER

INITIAL CLEANING

Perform an initial cleaning before making your

first beverage. Follow these instructions, without

adding coffee.

1. Insert charcoal water  lter. Follow directions for the

preparation and insertion of the charcoal water  lter

on the left.

2. Fill water reservoir.

3. Make sure carafe is in place.

4. If you haven’t already, plug the power cord into

an independent outlet. When the coffeemaker is

plugged in, the unit will automatically turn on.

5. Press the Carafe button once to enter Carafe

Brew Mode. Press the Grind Off button to

deactivate the grinder.

6. Press the Brew/Off/Auto Off button once and allow

the brew cycle to run until it is complete.

7. The one-time cleaning process is complete. Discard

hot water. Your coffeemaker is ready to use.

PROGRAMMING YOUR

12-CUP COFFEEMAKER

SETTING THE CLOCK

When the coffeemaker is plugged in, 12:00 will flash in

the display for 10 seconds, indicating the unit is in Time

Set mode. If 12:00 stops flashing, simply press and

hold Hour or Minute button to return to flashing Time

Set mode. Hold buttons down to scroll through the

digits, or press and release to advance one digit at a

time. When scrolling, the numbers will advance slowly

and then speed up. When the number displayed

approaches the desired time, press and release to

advance one digit at a time. Be sure the PM indicator is

on if a PM time is desired.

SETTING THE AUTO ON TIME

When you enter the AUTO ON time set mode, the

previously selected AUTO ON time, or the default time

(12:00) will flash.

1. Press and hold the AUTO ON button until the

display begins to ﬂ ash. Use the Hour and Minute

buttons as above to program your start-brew time.

2. Press the AUTO ON button once to conﬁ rm the

set time and activate the program. The white light

will illuminate, indicating the AUTO ON function has

been activated. LCD will display the current time.

NOTE: Be sure to set any additional preference

before the AUTO ON cycle begins.

3. AUTO ON brew cycle begins and the LED will

turn off. The Carafe and Brew white indicator lights

will illuminate when the brew cycle begins at the

time you have selected. When the brew cycle is

complete, Brew indicator light will turn blue,

indicating the unit is in Keep Warm mode. Lights will

turn off when the Keep Warm cycle ends.

NOTE: To start brew time at the same time the next

day, simply press and release AUTO ON button once

more. The white AUTO ON light will turn on.

SETTING THE AUTO OFF TIME

Press and hold the AUTO OFF button until the display

is flashing. Use the Hour and Minute buttons as above

to program your coffeemaker to shut off from 0 to 4

hours after brew cycle is finished.

MAKING COFFEE WITH

WHOLE BEANS

Follow instructions in Setting Up Your 12-Cup

Coffeemaker on page 8.

1. Insert charcoal water ﬁ lter

Follow directions for the preparation and insertion of

the  lter on page 8.

2. Fill the water reservoir

Open the reservoir cover and pour in water, using

the water level window indicator to measure the

number of cups desired.

NOTE: Do not exceed the 12-cup line. Doing so

could cause carafe to overﬂ ow.

3. Add Beans

Lift the grinder basket lid, using the recess on either

side. Fill the basket with the desired quantity of

beans and replace lid.

NOTE: Use 1 level scoop (1 tablespoon) of

whole beans per cup. For 1 to 4 cups, use 1½

level scoops per cup. Do not add more than 14

scoops. This could cause the grinder to mal-

function and/or the coffeemaker to overﬂ ow.

4. Insert Coffee Filter

Press the  lter basket door release button to open

door and place either a paper  lter OR permanent

 lter in the basket.

• Paper Filter – Place a basket paper  lter in the

basket, making sure the  lter is completely open and

touching the side walls and bottom of basket.

• Cuisinart’s Commercial-Style Permanent Filter

– Be sure the  lter handle is facing away from the

grinder basket, so it does not interfere with the  ow

of ground coffee into the  lter basket.

NOTE: Some ground coffee may  ow into

the carafe.

5. Put Filter Basket in Place and Close Filter Door

6. Before brewing

Make sure the glass carafe is in position on the

heater plate and the top cover is closed. Plug the

cord into an electrical outlet.

NOTE: This coffeemaker is equipped with a safety

interlock system, which prevents the unit from oper-

ating if the cover is open or the grinder cover is left

out. If you try to turn the unit on with the cover open,

the carafe indicator will  ash continuously until the

missing parts are installed and you close the lid.

If you open the cover during the grinding process,

the carafe indicator will  ash, the grinder will stop

grinding and, if brewing, the brewing will stop.

Once the missing parts are in place and the cover is

closed, the carafe indicator will turn off. The brewing

process can be restarted by pressing the BREW/

OFF/AUTO OFF Button. Restarting the process

will not affect coffee results. If you do not want the

grinder to come on again, press the Grind Off button

before pressing the Brew button.

7. Brewing coffee

Press the Carafe button to enter the carafe brew

mode. Press the BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF Button to

begin brewing. The white indicator light will illumi-

nate and  ash slowly. Or, set the Auto On function

(see page 9) and the Auto On indicator will light.

8. After brewing

When the brewing cycle is complete, coffee will con-

tinue to stream from the  lter for several seconds.

When streaming completely stops,  ve beeps will

sound and you can now enjoy your coffee.

NOTE: Reservoir cover may be hot during and

directly after brewing. Wait at least 10 minutes

before opening.

MAKING COFFEE WITH

PRE-GROUND BEANS

1. Fill the Reservoir and Insert Filter

See steps #1 and #2 in “Making Coffee with Whole

Beans,” page 9.

2. Add Pre-Ground Coffee

Press the  lter basket door release button to open

door and place either a paper  lter OR the perma-

nent  lter in the basket. Add ground coffee the close

 lter door. Our recipe suggestion: Use 1 level scoop

(1 tablespoon) of ground coffee per cup. Adjust the

recipe according to taste.

NOTE: The maximum capacity for ground coffee

is 16 level scoops (16 tablespoons), using either a

paper or permanent  lter. Exceeding that amount

may cause over ow if the coffee is too  nely ground.

3. Press the Grind Off Button

When this function is activated, the white LED will

come on.

4. Follow Steps 5-8 in “Making Coffee with

Whole Beans,” on pages 9-10

TIPS AND HINTS

• If you buy large portions of beans, separate them into

one- or two-week portions and store them in airtight

containers in the freezer. Preserve freshness by

minimizing exposure to air, light, and moisture. Once

beans are removed from the freezer, keep them in a

sealed container at room temperature, since damag-

ing condensation can occur when beans move from

cold to warmer temperatures.

• Some experts feel freezing dark-roast beans can

cause oils to coagulate; others disagree. You’ll have to

decide that one for yourself!

12-CUP COFFEEMAKER

CLEANING AND

MAINTENANCE

COMPLETELY CLEAN AND DRY ALL PARTS AFTER

EVERY USE. Always turn unit off and remove the plug

from the electrical outlet before cleaning.

Open the reservoir lid and remove the grinder basket lid

by using the recessed area on each side of the lid. Then

remove grinder basket. Open filter basket door, remove

filter basket cover, filter basket and filter basket holder.

The grinder basket, grinder basket lid, filter basket and

filter basket cover can be washed in warm, soapy water

and rinsed thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of

the dishwasher. Dry all parts after every use.

Do not put any water in the unit once the grinder

basket has been removed. Wipe the area under the

grinder basket with a damp cloth. If water gets into

the grinder motor, the motor may become damaged

and may malfunction. Once clean, reverse the

above steps.

Remove the carafe from the heating plate. Discard any

remaining coffee. The carafe and lid can be washed in

warm, soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or placed in

a dishwasher. The carafe and carafe lid should be

placed on the upper rack only.

Do not use any scouring agents or harsh cleansers on

any part of the coffeemaker.

Never immerse base unit in water or other liquids. To

clean base, simply wipe with a clean, damp cloth and

dry before storing. Fingerprints and other blemishes on

the housing can be washed off with soap and water or

a nonabrasive cleaning solution. Wipe heater plate with

a clean, damp cloth. Never use rough, abrasive

materials or cleansers to clean the heater plate. Do not

dry the inside of the water reservoir with a cloth, as lint

may remain.

Maintenance:

Any other servicing should be performed

by an authorized service representative.

BREW PAUSE

™

FEATURE

This feature interrupts the flow of coffee from the

basket to let you pour that first cup mid-brew.

Because the flavor profile of coffee brewed at the

start of a cycle differs from that brewed toward the

end, be aware that using this feature will weaken the

flavor strength of the finished pot.

NOTE: Removing carafe for more than 20 seconds

may cause filter basket to overflow.

DESCALING

Descaling refers to the removal of calcium deposits that

form over time on the metal parts of the coffeemaker.

To Descale Your Coffeemaker:

Depending on the mineral content of water in your area,

calcium deposits (scale) may build up in your

coffeemaker. Though scale is not toxic, it can affect

performance. Descaling the coffeemaker when the

CLEAN indicator signals it is time to do so will help

protect the heating element and other parts that come

into contact with water. For optimal performance,

descale coffeemaker every 3 to 6 months. If calcium

deposits build up faster, the CLEAN light will illuminate,

indicating 12-cup coffeemaker should be descaled.

NOTE: Before decalcifying your unit, remove the

charcoal water filter from the water reservoir.

To clean:

1. Fill the water reservoir to capacity with a mixture of

one-third white vinegar and two-thirds water.

2. Press the Carafe button once to activate the carafe

side. Press and hold the CLEAN button. When the

CLEAN LED indicator  ashes, the coffeemaker is in

Clean mode.

NOTE: The grinder assembly must be in the correct

position to activate the carafe side. If the assembly

is not in place, the carafe LED will  ash, indicating

the carafe side cannot be activated.

3. When the cycle is completed, 5 beeps will sound

and the coffeemaker will shut off.

4. If the CLEAN indicator illuminates once more, repeat

the cleaning procedure with a fresh solution of

vinegar and water.

NOTE: One cleaning cycle is usually suf cient.

5. When the CLEAN indicator remains off, run one

cycle with a full reservoir of fresh, cold water to rinse

the unit.

6. Return the charcoal water  lter to the holder

inside the water reservoir and your coffeemaker is

NOTE: If the CLEAN indicator light turns on and

you do not wish to descale now, simply press the

CLEAN button once and the LED indicator will turn

off. However, the CLEAN indicator will turn on again

during subsequent brewing cycles until the descal-

ing procedure is complete.

SETTING UP YOUR SINGLE-

SERVE COFFEEMAKER

INITIAL CLEANING

Perform an initial cleaning before making your first

beverage. Follow these instructions, without

inserting a capsule.

1. Insert charcoal water  lter if you haven’t already.

Instructions on page 8.

2. Fill the water reservoir dedicated to the single-serve

side of the unit

3. If you haven’t already, plug the power cord into

an independent outlet. When the coffeemaker is

plugged in, the unit will automatically turn on.

4. Open and close the brew head. Do not add

a capsule.

5. Place mug on the drip tray.

6. Press the POD button once to enter single-serve

mode. The POD indicator light will turn on and the

LCD display will show the default brew size 10 oz.

7. Press the BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF button once.

The indicator light will flash and the hot water will

start to dispense momentarily.

8. The one-time cleaning process is complete. Discard

hot water. Your brewer is ready to use.

USING THE SINGLE-

SERVE COFFEEMAKER

Follow instructions in Setting Up Your Single-Serve

Coffeemaker above.

BREWING

1. Add water into the 40-ounce water reservoir.

2. Plug the power cord into an independent outlet.

When the coffeemaker is plugged in, the unit will

automatically turn on.

3. Place mug on the drip tray.

NOTE: Adjust positioning of the mug depending on

size and the selected brew amount. Shelf  ips down

to accommodate shorter mugs and the drip tray can

be removed to accommodate travel mugs.

4. Select a capsule.

NOTE: Do not remove the foil lid or puncture

the capsule.

5. Open the brew head and place a capsule in the

brewing chamber. Close brew head.

Caution: There are two sharp needles in the

brewing chamber that puncture the capsule,

one above and one below. To avoid risk of

injury, do not put your ﬁ ngers in the capsule

brewing chamber.

6. Press the POD button once to enter single-serve

mode. The POD indicator light will turn on and the

LCD display will show the default brew size 10 oz.

or the previously used setting.

NOTE: The Add Water indicator will appear on the

LCD when water level is below 13.5 ounces and no

brewing can be done. To activate the single-serve

mode, simply  ll the water reservoir and press the

POD button to continue to brew as usual.

7. To change the brew size, press the POD button

continuously to scroll through size options until the

desired cup size setting is displayed on the LCD

display (8, 10, or 12 oz).

8. To begin brewing, press the Brew/Off/Auto Off

button once. The indicator light will begin to  ash

slowly and the beverage will start to dispense

momentarily.

NOTE: To cancel brewing, simply press the Brew/

Off/Auto Off button once again and the brewing

process will be stopped.

Caution: There is very hot water in the capsule

chamber during the brewing process. To avoid

risk of injury, do not lift the handle or open the

capsule chamber during the brewing process.

9. Once fully dispensed, all of the lights will go off and

the LCD will display the current time.

10. Enjoy your cup of coffee!

11. Lift the handle, then remove and dispose of the used

capsule. Close the brew head and your brewer is

ready to use again!

Caution: Capsule will be hot.

FILTER CUP

The Single-Serve Coffeemaker can be used with a

reusable coffee capsule (not included), which allows

you to use your own ground coffee.

Try the Cuisinart HomeBarista™ Reusable

Filter Cup for your favorite coffee or tea.

Available in stores.

1. Fill the  lter basket within the reusable capsule with

ground coffee, making sure not to  ll past the max

indicator. Adjust the amount to your personal prefer-

ence. Do not tamp the grounds. Make sure there are

no grounds remaining on the upper rim of the  lter

basket. Close lid.

NOTE: Max  ll: 2.5 scoops or 15 grams.

2. Remove the capsule holder from the brewing

chamber by pulling toward you.

2a. Drop the reusable coffee capsule into the

brewing chamber. There is no need to snap it

into place.

2b. Follow brewing instructions on page 12.

Caution: There are two sharp needles in the

brewing chamber that puncture the capsule, one

above and one below. To avoid risk of injury, do

not put your ﬁ ngers in the brewing chamber.

3. After brewing, raise the handle and remove the

reusable coffee capsule. Use caution, as the

reusable coffee capsule will be hot.

4. Replace the capsule holder, ensuring that the arrow

on capsule rim aligns with the arrow on the brewing

chamber. Gently push the capsule holder to snap

into place.

NOTE: This coffeemaker is compatible with most

reusable coffee capsules.

SINGLE-SERVE

COFFEEMAKER CLEANING

AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING EXTERNAL PARTS

We recommend regular cleaning of the coffeemaker’s

external components.

1. Never immerse the coffeemaker in water or

other liquids. The housing and other external

components may be cleaned with a soapy, damp,

nonabrasive cloth.

2. To remove the drip tray, simply slide it toward you,

keeping it level at all times in order to prevent spills.

The drip tray and drip tray plate are dishwasher safe.

Do not clean drip tray with cleansers, steel wool

pads or other abrasive materials.

CLEANING THE CAPSULE HOLDER

Caution: There are sharp needles that puncture

the capsule above and below. To avoid risk of

injury, do not put your fingers in the capsule

brewing chamber.

1. The capsule holder is top-shelf dishwasher safe (use

low temperature cycle). To remove, lift the handle

to open the brewing chamber. Grasp the top of the

capsule holder and pull up.

2. Cleaning the Funnel – To remove funnel from

capsule holder, hold funnel in left hand, twist bottom

away from you slightly and pull away from capsule

holder. The funnel is top-rack dishwasher safe.

NOTE: The funnel may be tight the  rst few times

you try to remove it; this is normal and will loosen

with continued use.

3. Cleaning the Exit Needle – The exit needle is

located on the inside bottom of the capsule holder

assembly. Should a clog arise because of coffee

grounds, it can be cleaned using a paper clip or

similar tool. Remove capsule holder from unit, then

remove funnel from capsule holder and insert the

paper clip into exit needle to loosen the clog and

push it out.

Replace funnel onto capsule holder by lining up

tabs in funnel with notches on capsule holder, twist

toward you until it locks into place. After cleaning,

replace capsule holder, being sure to align the

arrow on the capsule holder rim with arrow on the

brewing chamber.

4. Cleaning the Piercing Needle – The piercing

needle is located on the inside of the brewing

chamber. Should a clog arise because of coffee

grounds, it can be cleaned using a paper clip or

similar tool. Insert paper clip to loosen the clog and

push it out.

DESCALING

Mineral content in water varies from place to place.

Depending on the mineral content of the water in your

area, calcium deposits or scale tend to build up in most

coffeemakers. Though scale is nontoxic, it can hinder

performance from time to time.

Your SS-GB1 is designed to keep the internal heating

element on the Single-Serve side free from excess

water which will limit any calcium buildup. However, if

you feel more comfortable descaling your coffeemaker,

please follow the following steps.

NOTE: Before descaling your coffeemaker, remember

to remove the charcoal water filter from the water filter

holder located in the water reservoir.

To begin, you will need the following:

13 oz. of distilled white vinegar

26 oz. of water

16 oz. ceramic mug or container

(do not use paper cup)

Access to a sink

Step 1: First Vinegar Rinse

1. Fill water reservoir with 13 oz. of white vinegar and

26 oz. of water.

2. Place the ceramic mug or container on the

drip tray.

3. Press the POD button to enter single-serve mode

and select the 12 oz. brew size setting. Press the

BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF button once to start.

4. Discard contents of mug into the sink.

5. Repeat until ADD WATER light comes on.

6. When descaling is complete, all LED lights

will turn off.

7. Discard any remaining diluted vinegar into sink.

Step 2: Fresh Water Rinse

1. Repeat Step 1 three times, using fresh water in

place of vinegar.

2. This will clean the coffeemaker plumbing and

remove any residual vinegar taste.

MAINTENANCE

Any other servicing should be performed by an

authorized service representative.

USO DE ALARGADORES

El cable provisto con este aparato es corto, para

1. Ponga la caja sobre una superficie espaciosa, plana

y segura.

2. Retire el manual de instrucciones y otros folletos de

la caja.

3. Voltee la caja para que repose en su lado y retire

la cafetera.

4. Aleje la caja y levante el material de embalaje.

5. Agarre la jarra por el asa, y retírela de la placa y de

la bolsa protectora.

6. Quite la bolsa protectora que envuelve la cafetera.

Le aconsejamos que guarde el material de embalaje.

SUGERENCIAS PARA

LA PREPARACIÓN DE UN

BUEN CAFÉ

ELEMENTO 1: EL AGUA

El café está constituido por un 98% de

agua. Por lo tanto, la calidad del agua es

tan importante como la del café. Si el agua

tiene mal sabor, el café tendrá mal sabor.

Por eso Cuisinart equipó su cafetera con un

filtro de agua de carbón que elimina el cloro

y el mal sabor y olor, para preparar café

puro, taza tras taza.

ELEMENTO 2: EL CAFÉ

Aunque la mayor parte del brebaje es agua,

el sabor proviene del café. Para preparar

café sabroso, compre solo un suministro de

dos semanas de granos de café fresco a la

vez. Una vez que se rompen los granos, el

sabor intenso y rico del café comienza a

deteriorarse. Por eso Cuisinart equipó su

cafetera con un molinillo que muele los

granos justo antes de preparar el café.

ELEMENTO 3: EL GRADO

DE LA MOLIENDA

La molienda es primordial para preservar el

sabor del café. Café molido muy fino

producirá un café amargo. También puede

atascar el filtro. Café molido muy grueso

dejará pasar el agua demasiado

rápidamente, lo que producirá un café

aguado. Su cafetera ha sido programada

para proporcionar un molido medio, el

grado óptimo para la preparación

automática del café.

ELEMENTO 4: LAS PROPORCIONES

Para que el café sea perfecto, ni muy débil

ni muy fuerte, se debe usar la proporción

adecuada de café y agua. Siga las pautas

en la sección “Operación” y ajuste las

proporciones al gusto.

El indicador luminoso del botón se enciendo cuando

es tiempo de descalcificar la unidad. Véase las

instrucciones de descalcificación en la página 11.

9. Botón POD

Presiónelo una vez para activar el modo

“monodosis”. También úselo para elegir el tamaño

de la taza: 8 onzas (235 ml), 10 onzas (295 ml) o 12

onzas (355 ml).

Presiónelo para iniciar el ciclo de preparación.

11. Reloj/Pantalla LCD

En el modo “jarra”:

a. Muestra el último tamaño de taza elegido. Para

cambiar el tamaño de taza, presione y mantenga

presionado el botón POD para desplazarse por

las opciones.

b. El ícono de nivel de agua bajo “ADD WATER”

indica cuando es necesario agregar agua al

depósito.

FILTRO DE AGUA DE CARBÓN

INSTALACIÓN DEL FILTRO DE AGUA

1. Retire el filtro de la bolsa de plástico y remójelo

en agua fría por 15 minutos.

2. Levante el soporte del filtro que se encuentra en

el depósito de agua de la cafetera de 12 tazas

(1.75 L).

3. Abra el soporte, jalando la base.

4. Instale el filtro en el soporte y ciérrelo.

Haga esto con mucho con cuidado; si no instala

el filtro de manera correcta, la membrana del

filtro puede romperse.

5. Enjuague los filtros en agua fría por 10

segundos para limpiarlo, con las aberturas

directamente bajo el flujo de agua.

6. Permita que el filtro se seque por completo.

7. Vuelva a colocar el soporte del filtro en el

depósito, empujándolo hasta el fondo.

NOTA: Repita los pasos 1 a 7 del lado monodosis.

NOTA: Le aconsejamos que cambie el filtro de

agua cada 60 días o 60 usos, o más

frecuentemente si el agua es dura.

PREPARACIÓN DE LA CAFETERA

DE 12 TAZAS (1.45 L)

LIMPIEZA INICIAL

Limpie el sistema interno antes del primer uso,

según se indica a continuación. Nota: No use café

durante la limpieza inicial.

1. Instale el filtro de agua de carbón. Siga las

instrucciones de preparación e instalación en la

izquierda.

2. Llene el depósito de agua con agua.

3. Compruebe que la jarra está en su sitio.

4. Si aún no lo ha hecho, enchufe el cable en una

toma de corriente; la unidad se encenderá

automáticamente.

5. Presione el botón CARAFE para ingresar al

modo “jarra”. Presione el botón GRIND OFF para

desactivar el molinillo.

6. Presione el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF una vez y

permita que la unidad lleve a cabo un ciclo.

7. Al final del ciclo, el sistema interno estará limpio.

Tire el agua caliente. Su cafetera está lista para

su uso.

PROGRAMACIÓN DE LA

CAFETERA DE 12 TAZAS (1.75L)

CÓMO FIJAR LA HORA

Al enchufar la cafetera, “12:00” (la hora por defecto)

aparecerá en la pantalla, parpadeando. Si “12:00” deja

de parpadear, mantenga oprimido el botón HR o MIN

para regresar al modo de fijación de la hora. Mantenga

oprimido el botón para desplazarse por las horas o los

minutos más rápidamente, u oprima el botón

repetidamente para avanzar en incrementos de una

hora o de un minuto. Al mantener el botón oprimido, la

hora avanzará muy rápidamente. Cuando llegue cerca

del número deseado, suelte el botón y avance un

número a la vez. Cerciórese de que el indicador “PM”

aparece en la pantalla si desea fijar una hora de tarde/

noche.

CÓMO FIJAR LA HORA DE

ENCENDIDO AUTOMÁTICO

Al ingresar el modo de programación de la hora de

encendido automático, “12:00” (la hora de encendido

automático por defecto) o la hora de encendido

automático previamente fijada aparecerá en la pantalla,

parpadeando.

1. Mantenga presionado el botón AUTO ON hasta

que la pantalla empiece a parpadear. Use los

botones HR y MIN para programar la hora de

encendido automático.

2. Presione el botón AUTO ON una vez para

confirmar la hora y activar el programa. El

indicador luminoso blanco se encenderá, lo

que indica que el encendido automático ha sido

activado. Nota: La pantalla mostrará la hora del día.

NOTA: Cerciórese de elegir sus preferencias antes

de que el ciclo de preparación empiece.

3. A la hora programada, los indicadores luminosos

de los botones CARAFE y BREW se encenderán

para indicar que la preparación está empezando. Al

final del ciclo de preparación, el indicador luminoso

del botón BREW se pondrá azul, lo que indica que la

unidad ha ingresado el modo “mantener caliente”. Al

final del ciclo “mantener caliente”, la cafetera y las

luces se apagarán.

NOTA: Si desea que la cafetera se ponga en marcha

automáticamente a la misma hora al día siguiente,

simplemente presione el botón AUTO ON una vez;

el indicador luminoso blanco del botón AUTO ON se

encenderá.

CÓMO PROGRAMAR EL APAGADO

AUTOMÁTICO

Presione y mantenga presionado el botón AUTO OFF

hasta que la pantalla empiece a parpadear. Use los

botones “HR” y “MIN” para programar otro tiempo de

apagado automático, desde 0 hasta 4 horas después

del final del ciclo de preparación.

CÓMO PREPARAR CAFÉ CON

CAFÉ EN GRANO

Siga las instrucciones de preparación de la

cafetera de 12 tazas (1.75L) en la página 8.

1. Instale el filtro de agua de carbón

Siga las instrucciones de preparación e instalación

del filtro en la página 8.

2. Llene el depósito de agua

Abra la tapa del depósito y agregue agua hasta el

nivel deseado.

NOTA: No pase la línea de llenado máximo (12

tazas/1.75 L); esto puede provocar un derrame.

3. Agregue café en grano

Abra la tapa del molinillo. Agregue la cantidad

deseada de café en grano y cierre tapa.

NOTA: Use 1 cucharada llena de café molido por

taza (145 ml) de café. Para preparar solamente

1 o 4 tazas de café, use 1½ cucharadas llenas

de café en grano por taza. No añada más de

14 cucharadas; esto puede provocar un mal

funcionamiento o un derrame.

4. Instale el filtro

Abra el compartimiento del portafiltros, oprimiendo

el botón de apertura de la puerta. Instale un filtro de

papel n.° 4 O un filtro dorado permanente.

• Filtro de papel: Compruebe que el filtro está

completamente abierto y que toque ambos lados y

el fondo del portafiltros.

• Filtro permanente: Compruebe que el asa del filtro

apunta hacia la parte delantera de la cafetera, para

no impedir el flujo del café.

NOTA: El filtro permanente puede dejar pasar posos

finos de café.

5. Ponga la cubierta del portafiltros encima de este

y cierre el compartimiento del portafiltros.

6. Antes de preparar café

Compruebe que la jarra está debidamente

posicionada y que tiene puesta la tapa. Enchufe el

cable en una toma de corriente.

NOTA: Su cafetera cuenta con un sistema de

seguridad que impide que la unidad se ponga

en marcha a menos que la tapa del depósito y la

tapa del molinillo estén debidamente puestas y

cerradas. El indicador luminoso del botón CARAFE

parpadeará continuamente hasta poner y cerrar

ambas tapas.

Si abre la tapa durante la molienda o la preparación,

la unidad se apagará y el indicador luminoso del

botón CARAFE parpadeará. El indicador luminoso

se apagará al cerrar la tapa. Para volver a encender

la unidad, presione el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF.

Reiniciar el proceso no afectará los resultados.

Si no desea que el molinillo se vuelva a encender,

presione el botón GRIND OFF antes de oprimir el

botón BREW.

7. Para preparar café

Presione el botón CARAFE para ingresar al modo

“jarra”. Presione el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF

para empezar la preparación; el indicador luminoso

blanco se encenderá y empezará a parpadear

lentamente. O: Programe la hora de encendido

automático, según se indicó en la página 9; el

indicador luminoso “AUTO ON” se encenderá.

8. Después de la preparación

El café seguirá saliendo del pico durante varios

segundos después del final de la preparación.

Cuando el flujo se detenga, la unidad emitirá 5

pitidos y usted podrá disfrutar de su café.

NOTA: Puede que la tapa del depósito de agua esté

caliente durante e inmediatamente después de la

preparación; permita que se enfríe por un mínimo de

10 minutos antes de abrir el depósito.

CÓMO PREPARAR CAFÉ CON

CAFÉ MOLIDO

1. Llene el depósito de agua e instale el filtro

Siga los pasos 1 y 2 en la sección “Cómo preparar

café con café en grano”.

2. Instale el filtro

Abra el compartimiento del portafiltros, oprimiendo

el botón de apertura de la puerta. Instale un filtro de

papel n.° 4 O un filtro dorado permanente. Agregue

la cantidad deseada de café molido y cierre la

puerta. Le aconsejamos que use 1 cucharada llena

de café molido por taza (145 ml) de café. Ajuste la

cantidad de café molido a gusto.

NOTA: La capacidad máxima de la cafetera es

de 16 cucharadas de café molido. No exceda

esta cantidad; esto podría provocar un derrame,

especialmente si el café ha sido molido muy fino.

3. Presione el botón GRIND OFF

El indicador luminoso blanco se encenderá.

4. Siga los pasos 5 a 8 de la sección “Cómo preparar

café con café en grano” en las páginas 9 a 10.

CONSEJOS Y SUGERENCIAS

• Si usted compra grandes cantidades de café en

grano a la vez, divida los granos en porciones para

una o dos semanas y guárdelos en el congelador,

en recipientes herméticos. Para maximizar el aroma

del café, evite exponer los granos al aire, a la luz o a

la humedad. La condensación puede deteriorar los

granos cada vez que los saque del congelador. Por

lo tanto, manténgalos a temperatura ambiente, en un

envase cerrado.

• Algunos expertos aconsejan no congelar el café de

tueste oscuro ya que sus aceites pueden coagularse.

Otros no están de acuerdo. Le aconsejamos que

experimente y que decida por su cuenta.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO

DE LA CAFETERA DE 12 TAZAS

(1.75 L)

LAVE Y SEQUE TODAS LAS PIEZAS DESPUÉS DE

CADA USO. Siempre apague y desenchufe el aparato

antes de limpiarlo.

Abra la tapa del depósito y retire el molinillo,

agarrándolo por las hendiduras ubicadas en ambos

lados. Saque el molinillo. Abra la puerta del

compartimiento del portafiltros y retire la cubierta del

portafiltros, el portafiltros y el compartimiento del

portafiltros. El molinillo, la cubierta del molinillo, el

portafiltros y la cubierta del portafiltros pueden lavarse

a mano, con jabón y agua tibia, o en la bandeja

superior del lavavajillas. Seque todas las piezas

después de lavarlas.

FUNCIÓN DE PAUSA AL SERVIR

La función Brew Pause

™

(pausa al servir)

permite sacar la jarra de la placa para

servirse una taza de café antes del final del

ciclo de preparación. Nota: Tenga presente

que hacer esto cambiará el sabor/la

intensidad del café, ya que el sabor y la

intensidad del café cambian durante el ciclo.

NOTA: La función Brew Pause

™

detiene el

flujo durante solamente 20 segundos; no

saque la jarra por más tiempo.

No ponga agua en la unidad después de sacar el

molinillo. Limpie el área bajo el molinillo con un

paño húmedo, teniendo cuidado de no dejar

penetrar agua en el motor, ya que esto puede

dañarlo. Vuelva a instalar todas las piezas una vez

que estén limpias y secas.

Saque la jarra de la placa calentadora. Tire o refrigere

el café restante. Lave la jarra y la tapa de la jarra a

mano, con agua tibia y detergente, o en la bandeja

superior del lavavajillas.

No use productos o materiales abrasivos para limpiar

el aparato.

No sumerja la base en agua ni en ningún otro líquido.

Limpie la base con un paño húmedo y séquela antes de

guardar el aparato. Las huellas dactilares y otras

manchas pueden quitarse con agua y detergente, o con

una solución limpiadora no abrasiva. Limpie la placa

calentadora con un paño húmedo. Nunca use

materiales ásperos o limpiadores abrasivos para limpiar

la placa. No seque el interior del depósito de agua con

un paño ya que esto puede dejar pelusas en el mismo.

Mantenimiento:

Cualquier otro servicio debe ser

realizado por un técnico autorizado.

DESCALCIFICACIÓN

Con el tiempo, depósitos de calcio/sarro pueden

acumularse en las piezas metálicas de la cafetera.

Para descalcificar la cafetera:

Cuando usa agua dura, depósitos de calcio/sarro

pueden acumularse en las partes internas de su

cafetera. Aunque el calcio/sarro no es tóxico, puede

afectar el rendimiento de la unidad. Descalcificar la

unidad cuando el indicador de limpieza (la luz del botón

“CLEAN”) se encienda protegerá la resistencia (el

elemento calentador interno) y otros elementos en

contacto con el agua. Para un rendimiento óptimo,

le recomendamos que descalcifique la unidad cada

3 a 6 meses, Si el indicador de limpieza se enciende

antes de este tiempo, descalcifique la unidad lo más

pronto posible.

NOTA: Retire el filtro de agua de carbón antes de

descalcificar la unidad.

Para descalcificar:

1. Llene el depósito de agua hasta la capacidad

máxima con una mezcla de /



de vinagre y /



de agua.

2. Presione el botón CARAFE una vez para activar el

modo “jarra”. Presione y mantenga presionado el

botón CLEAN. Cuando el indicador luminoso del

botón CLEAN empiece a parpadear, la cafetera está

en el modo de limpieza.

NOTA: El molinillo debe estar es su puesto y

correctamente instalado para poder activar el modo

“jarra”. Si el molinillo no está en su puesto o si

está mal instalado, el indicador luminoso del botón

CARAFE parpadeará, lo que indica que el modo

“jarra” no se puede activar.

3. Al final del ciclo de limpieza (indicado por 5 pitidos),

la cafetera se apagará.

4. Si el indicador luminoso del botón CLEAN sigue

encendido, haga un segundo ciclo de limpieza con

una nueva solución de agua con vinagre.

NOTA: Por lo general, un ciclo de limpieza es

suficiente para descalcificar la unidad.

5. Cuando el indicador luminoso del botón CLEAN se

apague, repita estos pasos con un depósito de agua

fresca para eliminar el olor a vinagre.

6. Vuelva a instalar el filtro de agua de carbón. ¡Su

cafetera está lista!

NOTA: Si el indicador luminoso del botón CLEAN

se enciende y no desea descalcificar la unidad en

este momento, presione el botón CLEAN una vez;

el indicador luminoso se apagará. Tenga presente

que el indicador de limpieza se volverá a encender

durante otros ciclos de preparación, hasta que

realice el ciclo de limpieza.

PREPARACIÓN DE LA

Nota: No coloque una cápsula en la cámara.

5. Coloque una taza en la bandeja de goteo

6. Presione el botón POD para ingresar al modo

“monodosis”; el indicador luminoso del botón POD

se encenderá y la pantalla mostrará el tamaño de

taza por defecto: 10 onzas (295 ml).

7. Presione el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF una vez;

el indicador luminoso parpadeará y el agua

empezará a bajar poco después.

8. Al final del ciclo, el sistema interno estará limpio.

Tire el agua caliente. Su cafetera está lista.

OPERACIÓN DE LA CAFETERA

MONODOSIS

Siga las instrucciones de preparación de la

cafetera monodosis más arriba.

CÓMO PREPARAR CAFÉ

1. Llene el depósito de 40 onzas (1.2 L) con agua hasta

el nivel deseado.

2. Enchufe el cable en una toma de corriente; la unidad

se encenderá automáticamente.

3. Coloque una taza en la bandeja de goteo

NOTA: Ajuste la posición de la taza dependiendo

del tamaño de taza elegido. El estante se dobla

hacia abajo para colocar tazas más grandes y la

bandeja de goteo puede quitarse para colocar tazas

de viaje.

4. Elija una cápsula.

NOTA: No abra la cápsula, ni perfore la película de

aluminio que la cubre.

5. Abra la cámara de preparación y coloque

una cápsula en la misma. Cierre la cámara de

preparación.

Precaución: Hay dos agujas en el porta-

cápsulas (una arriba y una en el fondo), cuyo

papel es perforar las cápsulas. Para evitar las

heridas, no meta los dedos en el porta-cápsulas.

6. Presione el botón POD para ingresar al modo

“monodosis”. El indicador luminoso del botón POD

se encenderá y la pantalla mostrará el tamaño de

taza por defecto, 10 onzas (295 ml), o el tamaño de

taza previamente usado.

NOTA: El indicador de nivel bajo “ADD WATER”

(añadir agua) aparecerá en la pantalla cuando el

nivel de agua está debajo de 13.5 onzas (400 ml). No

podrá hacer café hasta añadir agua. Para activar el

modo “monodosis”, simplemente llene el depósito

de agua y presione el botón POD para continuar a

preparar café como de costumbre.

7. Para cambiar el tamaño de tazas, presione

y mantenga presionado el botón POD para

desplazarse por las opciones: 8 onzas (235 ml), 10

onzas (295 ml) o 12 onzas (355 ml). Suelte el botón

cuando la opción deseada aparezca en la pantalla.

8. Para iniciar el ciclo de preparación, presione el

botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF una vez; el indicador

luminoso parpadeará lentamente y el agua

empezará a bajar poco después.

NOTA: Para cancelar el ciclo, simplemente presione

el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF otra vez; la

preparación se detendrá.

Precaución: El agua que circula dentro de la

cámara de preparación durante el ciclo de

preparación está muy caliente. Para evitar las

quemaduras, nunca alce el asa ni abra la cámara

de preparación durante el ciclo de preparación.

9. Una vez que se haya dispensado todo el café, todas

las luces se apagarán y la pantalla LCD mostrará la

hora actual.

10. ¡Disfrute de su taza de café!

11. Alce el asa, retire la cápsula usada y tírela. Cierra la

tapa de la cámara de preparación. ¡Su cafetera está

lista para volverse a usar!

Precaución: La cápsula estará muy caliente.

CÓMO PREPARAR CAFÉ CON LA

CÁPSULA REUTILIZABLE

HOMEBARISTA™.

La cafetera monodosis también le deja preparar café

con una cápsula reutilizable (no incluida), un método

que le permite usar su propio café molido.

Pruebe la cápsula reutilizable HomeBarista™ de

Cuisinart para preparar café o té con su cafetera

monodosis.

Está disponible en las tiendas.

1. Llene la cápsula reutilizable con café molido,

cerciorándose de que no pasa la línea “MAX”. Use

más o menos café, al gusto. No apisone el café.

Compruebe que el borde del filtro está limpio. Cierre

la tapa.

NOTA: No exceda 2.5 cucharadas (15 g).

2. Retire el porta-cápsulas de la cámara de

preparación, jalando hacia el frente.

2a. Coloque la cápsula reutilizable en la cámara de

preparación, sin presionar.

2b. Siga las instrucciones de preparación del café

en la página 12.

Precaución: Hay dos agujas en el porta-

cápsulas (una arriba y una en el fondo), cuyo

papel es perforar las cápsulas. Para evitar las

heridas, no meta los dedos en el porta-cápsulas.

3. Después del ciclo de preparación, alce el asa y

retire la cápsula reutilizable. Advertencia: La

cápsula reutilizable estará caliente.

4. Vuelva a instalar el porta-cápsulas, haciendo

coincidir la flecha con la flecha en la cámara de

preparación. Empuje suavemente el porta-cápsulas

hasta que encaje.

NOTA: Esta cafetera está compatible con la mayoría

de las cápsulas reutilizables.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO

DE LA CAFETERA MONODOSIS

LIMPIEZA DE LAS PARTES EXTERNAS

Le recomendamos que limpie la carcasa del aparato

regularmente.

1. Nunca sumerja la unidad en agua ni en ningún otro

líquido. Limpie la carcasa y otros componentes

externos con un paño no abrasivo humedecido en

agua jabonosa.

2. Jale la bandeja de goteo con cuidado para evitar los

derrames. La rejilla y la bandeja de goteo son aptas

para lavavajillas. No limpie la bandeja de goteo

con limpiadores abrasivos, lana de acero u otros

materiales abrasivos.

LIMPIEZA DEL PORTA-CÁPSULAS

Precaución: Hay dos agujas en el porta-cápsulas

(una arriba y una en el fondo), cuyo papel es

perforar las cápsulas. Para evitar las heridas, no

meta los dedos en el porta-cápsulas.

1. El porta-cápsulas es apto para lavavajillas (bandeja

superior solamente), siempre que use baja

temperatura para lavar. Alce el asa para abrir la

cámara de preparación. Agarre el porta-cápsulas

por la cumbre y jálelo hacia arriba.

2. Limpieza del embudo del porta-cápsulas – Para

retirar el embudo del porta-cápsulas, sostenga el

embudo con una mano mientras gira ligeramente

la parte inferior, y jala el porta-cápsulas con la otra

mano. El embudo es apto para lavavajillas (bandeja

superior solamente).

NOTA: Puede que el embudo sea muy apretado y

difícil de quitar las primeras veces que lo saque;

esto es normal. Se aflojará con el tiempo.

3. Limpieza del pico del porta-cápsulas – El pico

ubicado dentro del porta-cápsulas deberá limpiarse

en caso de atascamiento, usando un sujetapapeles

u otro objeto similar. Retire el porta-cápsulas de la

cámara de preparación, y luego retire el embudo

del porta-cápsulas. Introduzca la punta del

sujetapapeles en el pico del porta-cápsulas para

desatascarlo.

Para volver a instalar el embudo sobre el porta-

cuerpo hasta que encaje y se bloquee. Después de

lavarlo, vuelva a instalar el porta-cápsulas, haciendo

4. Limpieza de la aguja perforadora – La aguja

perforadora, ubicada dentro de la cámara

de preparación, deberá limpiarse en caso de

DESCALCIFICACIÓN

Según el lugar donde vive, el agua puede ser más o

menos dura, es decir contener una concentración de

minerales más o menos alta. Cuando usa agua dura,

depósitos de calcio/sarro pueden acumularse en las

partes internas de su cafetera. El calcio/sarro no es

tóxico, pero puede afectar el rendimiento de la unidad.

Su cafetera SS-GB1 está diseñada para mantener la

resistencia (el elemento calentador interno) de la

cafetera monodosis libre de exceso de agua, lo que

limita la acumulación de calcio/sarro. Sin embargo,

si desea descalcificar la unidad, siga los pasos

siguientes:

NOTA: Siempre retire el filtro de agua de carbón del

soporte antes descalcificar la unidad.

Prepare lo siguiente:

13 onzas (385 ml) de vinagre blanco destilado

26 onzas (770 ml) de agua

Una taza de cerámica o un recipiente de 16 onzas

(475 ml) (no use vaso de papel)

Acceso al fregadero

Paso 1: Primer enjuague con vinagre

1. Llene el depósito de agua con 13 onzas (385 ml) de

vinagre blanco y 26 onzas (770 ml) de agua.

2. Coloque la taza de cerámica en la bandeja de goteo.

3. Presione el botón POD para ingresar al modo

“monodosis”, y elija el tamaño de taza “12 oz.”.

Presione el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF una vez

para empezar el ciclo.

4. Al final del ciclo de limpieza, tire el contenido

de la taza.

5. Repita estos pasos hasta que el indicador de nivel

bajo (“ADD WATER”) se encienda.

6. Cuando el sistema interno esté limpio, todas las

luces se apagarán.

7. Tire la mezcla de vinagre/agua restante.

Paso 2: Enjuague con agua fresca

1. Repita el paso 1 tres veces, usando agua fresca en

vez de vinagre.
