Installation and Operation Instructions

HB12PAK SERIES

1. Proper installation combined with operator training in the use, care, and maintenance of emergency warning devices are essential to ensure

the safety of you and those you are seeking to protect.

2. Exercise caution when working with live electrical connections.

3. This product must be properly grounded. Inadequate grounding and/or shorting of electrical connections can cause high current arcing,

which can cause personal injury and/or severe vehicle damage, including re.

4. Proper placement and installation are vital to the performance of this warning device. Install this product so that output performance of the

system is maximized and the controls are placed within convenient reach of the operator so that s/he can operate the system without losing

eye contact with the roadway.

5. Do not install this product or route any wires in the deployment area of an air bag. Equipment mounted or located in an air bag deployment

area may reduce the eectiveness of the air bag or become a projectile that could cause serious personal injury or death. Refer to the

vehicle owner’s manual for the air bag deployment area. It is the responsibility of the user/operator to determine a suitable mounting location

ensuring the safety of all passengers inside the vehicle particularly avoiding areas of potential head impact.

6. It is the responsibility of the vehicle operator to ensure during use that all features of this product work correctly. In use, the vehicle operator

should ensure the projection of the warning signal is not blocked by vehicle components (i.e., open trunks or compartment doors), people,

vehicles or other obstructions.

7. The use of this or any other warning device does not ensure all drivers can or will observe or react to a warning signal. Never take the right-

of-way for granted. It is your responsibility to be sure you can proceed safely before entering an intersection, driving against trac, respond-

ing at a high rate of speed, or walking on or around trac lanes.

8. This equipment is intended for use by authorized personnel only. The user is responsible for understanding and obeying all laws regarding

warning signal devices. Therefore, the user should check all applicable city, state, and federal laws and regulations. The manufacturer as-

sumes no liability for any loss resulting from the use of this warning device.

Twist-lock Mounting (Figure 3):

Locate and removed the OEM light bulb plug by rotating it counter clockwise

until the bulb plug stops in its rotation, pull out of the socket. Take note of the

positions of the retention cam clearance notches. Apply silicone RTV sealant

around the rubber gasket. Insert the twist-lock lighthead through the socket and

rotate it clockwise until it stops.

Make sure lighthead is tightly secured in the socket.

Lamp Mounting (Figure 1):

Pick a location in the vehicle lamp housing that is at least 1” away from any



Install the LED head into the hole as shown in Figure 1. Use silicone RTV around

the LED head to seal. Strap the driver module to a nearby wire harness or body

structure. Make electrical connections as described below.

Surface Mounting (Figure 2):

Pick a location in the vehicle body that is at least 1” away from other objects. Drill

a 1” hole in the body with a hole saw. Using the bezel as a template, mark and

drill the mounting hole locations in the mounting surface. Make the electrical

connections described below and place the LED head in the 1” hole. Install the

bezel and bracket using the two screws provided. Silicone RTV sealant should be

used around the mounting and screw holes.

Installation & Mounting:

Before installation, examine the LED heads for transit damage. Do not use damaged or broken parts.

1. Pour garantir votre sécurité et celle des autres, il est essentiel que le produit soit correctement installé et que l’opérateur soit formé à

l’utilisation, l’entretien et la maintenance des dispositifs d’avertissement d’urgence.

2. Manipulez les connexions électriques sous tension avec prudence.

3. Ce produit doit être correctement mis à la masse. Une mise à la masse inadéquate ou un court-circuit des connexions électriques peut

provoquer l’apparition d’un arc électrique haute tension, susceptible de causer des blessures corporelles ou des dommages graves sur le

véhicule, ainsi qu’un incendie.

4. Une installation et un positionnement corrects sont essentiels au bon fonctionnement de ce dispositif d’avertissement. Installez ce produit

de manière à optimiser les performances de sortie du système et de sorte que les commandes soient à portée de main de l’opérateur, an

qu’il puisse utiliser le système sans perdre le contact visuel avec la chaussée.

5. N’installez pas ce produit dans la zone de déploiement d’un airbag ; n’acheminez pas non plus de câbles dans cette zone. Tout équipement

gen sind unerlässlich, um Ihre Sicherheit und die Sicherheit der Personen, denen Sie helfen möchten, zu gewährleisten.

2. Gehen Sie bei der Arbeit mit stromführenden elektrischen Anschlüssen vorsichtig vor.

3. Dieses Produkt muss ordnungsgemäß geerdet werden. Eine unzureichende Erdung und/oder ein Kurzschluss der elektrischen Anschlüsse

können zu Hochstromlichtbögen führen, die Verletzungen und/oder schwere Schäden am Fahrzeug, einschließlich Fahrzeugbrand, verursa-

chen können.

4. Die richtige Platzierung und Installation sind für die Leistung der Warnvorrichtung von entscheidender Bedeutung. Installieren Sie dieses

Produkt so, dass die Ausgangsleistung des Systems maximiert wird und die Bedienelemente sich in Reichweite des Bedieners benden

damit er/sie das System bedienen kann, ohne den Blick von der Fahrbahn nehmen zu müssen.

5. Montieren Sie dieses Produkt nicht im Entfaltungsbereich eines Airbags und verlegen Sie dort auch keine Kabel. Geräte, die sich im

Entfaltungsbereich eines Airbags benden bzw. dort montiert sind, beeinträchtigen möglicherweise die Wirksamkeit des Airbags oder

können zu „Geschossen“ werden, die schwere Verletzungen oder den Tod verursachen können. Informationen zum Entfaltungsbereich des

Airbags nden Sie im Fahrerhandbuch des Fahrzeugs. Es liegt in der Verantwortung des Benutzers/Bedieners, einen geeigneten Montageort

festzulegen, um die Sicherheit aller Fahrzeuginsassen zu gewährleisten und insbesondere Bereiche zu vermeiden, in denen möglicherweise

Twist-Lock-Montage (Abbildung 3):

Finden und entfernen Sie den OEM-Glühlampenstecker, indem Sie ihn gegen

den Uhrzeigersinn bis zum Anschlag drehen, und ziehen Sie ihn aus der

Fassung. Beachten Sie die Positionen der Aussparungen für die Haltenocken.

Tragen Sie die RTV-Silikon-Dichtmasse um die Gummidichtung herum auf.

Führen Sie den Twist-Lock-Lampenkopf durch die Fassung, und drehen Sie ihn

im Uhrzeigersinn bis zum Anschlag.

Achten Sie darauf, dass der Lampenkopf fest in der Fassung sitzt.

Lampenmontage (Abbildung 1):

Wählen Sie eine Stelle im Lampengehäuse des Fahrzeugs, die mindestens 25,4

mm (1,0”) von vorhandenen Glühlampen entfernt ist. Bohren Sie mit einer



von anderen Objekten entfernt ist. Bohren Sie mit einer Lochsäge ein 24,

5-mm-Loch (1,0”) in die Karosserie. Verwenden Sie die Blendenverkleidung als

Schablone, markieren Sie die Positionen der Montagelöcher und bohren Sie diese



Verbindungen her, und setzen Sie den LED-Kopf in das 25,4-mm-Loch (1,0”) ein.

Montieren Sie die Blendenverkleidung und die Halterung mit den beiden

mitgelieferten Schrauben. Um die Befestigungs- und Schraubenlöcher herum

sollte RTV-Silikon-Dichtmasse aufgetragen werden.

Nach der Installation des Systems ist es am besten, beim ersten Mal EINSCHALTEN ZURÜCKSETZEN durchzuführen, um sicherzustellen, dass alle Lampenköpfe synchronisiert wurden. Verbinden Sie das

BLAUE Kabel mit dem schwarzen Massekabel und aktivieren Sie die Stromversorgung. Warten Sie 5 Sekunden, und lösen Sie dann das BLAUE Kabel. Alle Lampenköpfe werden auf Dauerlicht zurückgesetzt.

(Wenn Sie eine Taste zur Auswahl des Leuchtmusters eingerichtet haben, halten Sie die Musterauswahl gedrückt, und schalten Sie den Netzschalter EIN.) Um ein Leuchtmuster auszuwählen,

verbinden Sie das BLAUE Kabel mit dem schwarzen Massekabel, oder drücken Sie den Schalter für die Musterauswahl, um das Leuchtmuster zu steigern. Die Köpfe merken sich das ausgewählte

Leuchtmuster, bis es wieder gewechselt wird.

Wenn Sie dieses Produkt zur Synchronisierung mit einem älteren Produkt verwenden, das nur über Leuchtmuster 1 bis 8 verfügt, können Sie dieses Produkt so programmieren, dass die Liste der Leuchtmuster

begrenzt wird. Führen Sie die folgenden Schritte aus: Verbinden Sie das BLAUE Kabel mit dem SCHWARZEN (oder halten Sie die Taste zur Auswahl des Leuchtmusters gedrückt, falls vorhanden). Schließen

Sie das rote Kabel an die Stromversorgung an, und halten Sie die Taste 5 Sekunden lang gedrückt. Blinkt der LED-Kopf einmal, so ist er für den alten 8-Muster-Satz eingestellt, blinkt er zweimal, so ist er für

den 16-Muster-Satz eingestellt.

Synchronisierung:

Dieses Gerät kann bis zu acht kompatible CODE 3-Produkte synchronisieren, indem Sie wie nachfolgend beschrieben vorgehen. Dieses Gerät kann innerhalb der Leuchtmuster 1 bis 63 synchronisiert werden.









Page 1 of 4 Installation & Mounting: Before installation, examine the LED heads for transit damage. Do not use damaged or broken parts. Lamp Mounting (Figure 1): Pick a location in the vehicle lamp housing that is at least 1” away from any existing bulbs. Drill 1” hole in vehicle lamp reflector housing with hole saw. Install the LED head into the hole as shown in Figure 1. Use silicone RTV around the LED head to seal. Strap the driver module to a nearby wire harness or body structure. Make electrical connections as described below. Surface Mounting (Figure 2): Pick a location in the vehicle body that is at least 1” away from other objects. Drill a 1” hole in the body with a hole saw. Using the bezel as a template, mark and drill the mounting hole locations in the mounting surface. Make the electrical connections described below and place the LED head in the 1” hole. Install the bezel and bracket using the two screws provided. Silicone RTV sealant should be used around the mounting and screw holes. Figure 1 Twist-lock Mounting (Figure 3): Figure 2 Locate and removed the OEM light bulb plug by rotating it counter clockwise until the bulb plug stops in its rotation, pull out of the socket. Take note of the positions of the retention cam clearance notches. Apply silicone RTV sealant around the rubber gasket. Insert the twist-lock lighthead through the socket and rotate it clockwise until it stops. Make sure lighthead is tightly secured in the socket. Touch BLUE wire to ground while applying power. Wait 5 seconds and then release the BLUE wire. All heads will reset to steady burn. (If youhave installed a pattern select pushbutton, press and hold patternselect while turning power switch ON.) To select a ﬂash pattern, touch BLUE to ground or press pattern select switch to increment the ﬂash pattern. The heads will remember the ﬂash pattern you have selected until it is changed again. If you are using this product to synchronize with an older product which only has ﬂash patterns 1 through 8 then you may program this product to limit its ﬂash pattern list. Perform the following: Connect BLUE to BLACK (or press and hold pattern select button if installed. Connect to power and hold for 5 seconds. The LED head will blink 1 time to indicate it is set for the old 8 pattern set, twice to indicate the 16 pattern set. Synchronization: This device is capable of syncing up to 8 compatible CODE 3 products by following the steps below. This device can be synchronized within flash pattern 1 to 63. 1. Set the desired flash pattern on each unit individually. It is also strongly recommended that the same style of flash pattern be used on all units to produce the most effective warning pattern. NOTE: Phases 1 and 2 for each style of flash pattern in the table denote the relative timing between units connected in a synchronizing installation. To operate simultaneously, each unit must be set to the same phase (1 + 1 or 2 + 2); to operate alternately, units must be set to have the opposite phase (1 + 2 or 2 + 1). 2. Connect the yellow sync wires together and check that the units areflashing in a synchronized manner as expected. If a pattern on one unit appears incorrect, the blue pattern select wire can be used to cycle forward or backward on that individual unit until the correct pattern is selected. NOTE: This will only change the pattern in the one unit and will not affect the other units connected to the yellow sync wire. Perfore un orificio de 25,4 mm (1 pulg.) en la carcasa del reflector de la lámpara del vehículo con una sierra de corona. Instale el cabezal LED en el orificio como se muestra en la Figura 1. Utilice silicona RTV alrededor del cabezal LED para sellarlo. Fije el módulo del controlador a un mazo de cables o una estructura de la carrocería cercanos. Realice las conexiones eléctricas como se describe a continuación. Elija una ubicación en la carrocería del vehículo que esté a una distancia mínima de 25,4 mm (1 pulg.) de otros objetos. Perfore un orificio de 25,4 mm (1 pulg.) en la carrocería con una sierra de corona. Surface de montage (Figure 2): Montage de la lampe (Figure 1): Choisissez un emplacement dans le logement de lampe du véhicule à au moins 25,4 mm (1”) des autres ampoules. Percez un trou de 25,4 mm (1”) dans le logement du réflecteur de lampe du véhicule avec une scie-cloche. Installez la tête de LED dans le trou, comme illustré sur la Figure 1. Utilisez du silicone RTV autour de la tête de LED pour la sceller. Attachez le module conducteur à un faisceau de câblage ou à une structure de carrosserie à proximité. Effectuez les branchements électriques comme décrit ci-dessous. Choisissez un emplacement dans la carrosserie du véhicule à au moins 25,4 mm (1”) des autres objets. Percez un trou de 25,4 mm (1”) dans la carrosserie avec une scie-cloche. En utilisant le cadre comme modèle, marquez et percez les emplacements des trous de montage dans la surface de montage. Effectuez les branchements électriques décrits ci-dessous et placez la tête de LED dans le trou de 25,4 mm (1”). Installez le cadre et le support à l’aide des deux vis fournies. Utilisez du produit d’étanchéité silicone RTV autour des trous de montage et des trous de vis. Notez la position des encoches de dégagement de la came de retenue. Appliquez du produit d’étanchéité silicone RTV autour du joint en caoutchouc. Les têtes se souviendront du mode de clignotement que vous avez sélectionné jusqu’à ce qu’il soit à nouveau modifié. Si vous utilisez ce produit pour effectuer une synchronisation avec un produit plus ancien qui ne dispose que des modes de clignotement 1 à 8, vous pouvez programmer ce produit pour limiter sa liste de modes de clignotement. Procédez comme suit : connectez le câble BLEU au câble NOIR (ou maintenez le bouton de sélection de mode enfoncé s’il est installé). Branchez le câble rouge sur le secteur et maintenez-le pendant 5 secondes. La tête de LED clignote 1 fois pour indiquer qu’elle est réglée sur l’ancien type à 8 modes de clignotement, deux fois pour indiquer le modèle à 16 modes de clignotement. Synchronisation: Les étapes ci-dessous permettent de synchroniser jusqu’à 8 produits CODE 3 compatibles sur cet appareil. Cet appareil peut être synchronisé avec les modes de clignotement 1 à 63. 1. Seite 1 von 3 Installation und Montage: Überprüfen Sie die LED-Köpfe vor der Montage auf Transportschäden. Verwenden Sie keine beschädigten Teile Oberflächenmontage (Abbildung 2): Lampenmontage (Abbildung 1): Wählen Sie eine Stelle im Lampengehäuse des Fahrzeugs, die mindestens 25,4 mm (1,0”) von vorhandenen Glühlampen entfernt ist. Bohren Sie mit einer Lochsäge ein 25,4-mm-Loch (1,0”) in das Reflektorgehäuse des Fahrzeugs. Montieren Sie den LED-Kopf in das Bohrloch, wie in Abbildung 1 dargestellt. Montieren Sie die Blendenverkleidung und die Halterung mit den beiden mitgelieferten Schrauben. Um die Befestigungs- und Schraubenlöcher herum sollte RTV-Silikon-Dichtmasse aufgetragen werden. Wenn Sie dieses Produkt zur Synchronisierung mit einem älteren Produkt verwenden, das nur über Leuchtmuster 1 bis 8 verfügt, können Sie dieses Produkt so programmieren, dass die Liste der Leuchtmuster begrenzt wird. Führen Sie die folgenden Schritte aus: Verbinden Sie das BLAUE Kabel mit dem SCHWARZEN (oder halten Sie die Taste zur Auswahl des Leuchtmusters gedrückt, falls vorhanden). Schließen Sie das rote Kabel an die Stromversorgung an, und halten Sie die Taste 5 Sekunden lang gedrückt. Blinkt der LED-Kopf einmal, so ist er für den alten 8-Muster-Satz eingestellt, blinkt er zweimal, so ist er für den 16-Muster-Satz eingestellt. Synchronisierung: Dieses Gerät kann bis zu acht kompatible CODE 3-Produkte synchronisieren, indem Sie wie nachfolgend beschrieben vorgehen. Dieses Gerät kann innerhalb der Leuchtmuster 1 bis 63 synchronisiert werden. 1. Stellen Sie das gewünschte Leuchtmuster für jedes Gerät einzeln ein. Es wird außerdem dringend empfohlen, für alle Geräte dasselbe Leuchtmuster zu verwenden, um ein effektives Warnmuster zu erzeugen.
