•al personal del operario
•a los usuarios
•a los empleados de servicio.
Cualquier persona que maneje este aparato deberá
conocer el contenido de estas instrucciones y haberlo
comprendido.
Tenga el manual siempre a mano.

Indicaciones de seguridad
En este capítulo encontrará un resumen de las
indicaciones generales relativas a la seguridad y
al manejo del aparato. Encontrará indicaciones
específicas en cada uno de los de este manual de
instrucciones.
Empleo previsto
El aparato ha sido concebido para el bronceado
individual de una persona, que no presente factores
de riesgo que desaconsejen el bronceado. Las
siguientes personas no deben utilizar el aparato:
•Personas menores de 18 años.
•Personas con marcapasos
•Personas, que al exponerse al sol sufran
quemaduras sin llegar a broncearse (fototipo I).
•Personas que hayan sufrido una quemadura de
sol.
•Personas que sufran o hayan sufrido cáncer de piel
o que sean propensos a sufrirlo.
•Personas que tomen medicamentos.
Asimismo el aparato no ha sido concebido para
personas con discapacidades físicas, sensoriales o
intelectuales, así como con falta de experiencia y/
o conocimientos insuficientes. Si el aparato está al
alcance de los niños deben de estar bajo vigilancia
para evitar que jueguen con él.
Obligaciones del titular
KBL Solarien no se hace responsable de los daños
que se produzcan por el manejo indebido o por no
observar el presente manual de instrucciones. Sólo se
podrán montar recambios originales, especialmente
tubos y quemadores, de lo contrario quedan anuladas
la autorizacion de uso y la garantía.
Funcionamiento del
temporizador
El aparato deberá funcionar a través de un
temporizador externo. Si falla el temporizador externo
un temporizador interno de seguridad desconecta
automáticamente el solarium pasados 30 min.
Indicaciones generales de
seguridad
•Obsérvense todas las indicaciones de este manual.
Tenga en cuenta también todas las regulaciones y
normativas legales vigentes y de otra índole – tam-
bién las del país del usuario.
•El aparato deberá ser montado en instalado sólo
por personal cualificado.
•No se podrán realizar modificaciones ni montar
piezas en el aparato por cuenta propia.
•Obsérvense todas las advertencias de seguridad y
peligro dispuestas en el aparato.
•No se deben desmontar ni anular los dispositivos o
o advertencias de seguridad.
•El aparato sólo se utilizará estando en perfecto es-
tado técnico.
•No utilice nunca el aparato con los revestimientos
exteriores o paneles acrílicos desmontados.
•El aparato se controlará con un temporizador. que
cumpla con las normas vigentes.
•Respete obligatoriamente los intervalos de man-
tenimiento del programa de mantenimiento.
Sesiones de bronceado
La duración de las sesiones de bronceado se
respetarán obligatoriamente.

Transport
Transport by forklift truck
The device is mounted on a pallet.
•Insert the forks carefully into the openings of the
pallet.
•Lift the load by a few centimetres.
•Transport the load carefully to the place of
installation.
Other modes of transport
If a forklift truck cannot be used for transport, the
box must be unpacked and the parts inside must be
transported individually to the place of installation,
e.g. using a dolly. Depending on the weight of the
components, lifting them might require several
people.

Standards
This tanning system complies with the following
standards in their respectively applicable version:
•EN 60335-2-27
•Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
•EMC 2004/108/EC
An EC Declaration of Conformity can be requested
from the manufacturer.
Components
The tanning unit basically consists of the following
components:
• The canopy including 24 tubes and three facial
tanners (XXL devices with 21 standard tubes and
30 spaghetti tubes).
• The base part including 16 tubes, the electronics
unit and further, optionally available components.

The tanning systems MS4000 and MS4500 are ba-
sically of similar construction. The two models dif-
fer from each other with regard to the decorative
lighting (canopy) and the shaped bed pane (MS4500).

Connections
Connecting the mains voltage
DANGER!
Live components
Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock
when touching live parts.
Disconnect from mains according to DIN
VDE 0105.
Both the power supply and the related connection
work must comply with national standards, e.g. those
set up by VDE in Germany. The connection must only
be performed by qualified expert staff.
The connection to the 400 V mains must be protected
by fuses. Their specifications are listed in the chapter
“Technical data”.
A residual current-operated circuit breaker (RCD)
must always be used. KBL-Solarien AG recommends
the following type: KBL 3200 0770 00 (type ABB F 374
63/0.03A). Should the operation of the tanning unit
cause any interference in the power supply network,
e.g. with ripple-control systems (TRA), consult your
power supply company regarding the installation of
corresponding blocking elements (audio frequency
suppressor).

When connecting an external audio source, pay
attention to the correct polarity.

EXTERNAL AUDIO SIGNAL 100 V (OPTIONAL
FEATURE)
A transformer (KBL item no.: 9100 0170 00) is
required for the transmission of the audio signal if a
100 V audio system is connected.
The connection must be carried out by trained service
staff.

Level adjustment
The components of the voice/audio system are
built into the base section of the tanning unit. The
potentiometer (see
arrow
), which is located on the
audio switch board, must be set to the maximum
volume level. Line adjustment of the studio music is
performed via the line box.

Operation using different audio
sources
The tanning unit can be operated using the following
audio sources:
•An internal MP3 player alone
•An external audio source alone
•Both audio sources
Use the control panel to alternate between internal
and external audio source.
INTERNAL MP3 PLAYER
When using the internal MP3 player, you can either
play the music tracks that are originally supplied on
the SD card, or you can record your own tracks on
the SD card.
EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCES
As an external audio source, you can connect
devices ranging from the standard-line level to low
loudspeaker levels.
These sources comprise:
•the studio music, and
•external players such as MP3 players, mobile
phones (cell phones), iPods, etc.
STUDIO MUSIC
The level of the studio music can be adjusted by
means of a potentiometer on the line box. The box is
located below the bed, on the right-hand front side
(figure 9.2)
. It is only fixed by Velcro tape and can be
removed.

EXTERNAL PLAYERS
A line-in connector is available in the head area of
the bed, on the right-hand side, so that the studio
client can plug in his/her own equipment, e. g. MP3
player, iPod, etc.

. Use a standard 3.5 mm
jack cable (included if the music option has been
ordered). If an external player is plugged into this
connector, the system switches over automatically
and plays the music of the personal player. This
assumes that you have selected the “Studio” option
of the menu item “Audio” in the service menu I.
You can adjust the level by using the volume control
of either the control panel or the player.

The tanning unit can only be operated with audio
sources if you have purchased the optionally available
audio package. For further information, please refer
to the chapters “Connections” and “Operation in
service mode”.
Connecting the external timer
Connect the external timer (coin box, studio control)
according to the instructions supplied with the timer.
The following diagram shows the wiring requirements
with regard to the timer.

Aroma connections
If you have opted for the Aroma function, the Aroma
box is fastened to the front left-hand foot in the base
section of the unit. The box is equipped with three
hose connections, one of them leading to the Aroma
tin ⑥, the other two to the ventilation ducts of the
nozzles in the foot area ⑦.

AROMA CONTROL
The “Aroma function” is controlled by a time relay.
Air is guided through the Aroma tin by means of a
compressor during the connection time. The scented
air is released into the tanning space from the foot
end.
The time relay is mounted on a plate at the front left-
hand foot of the sunbed. You can set the scenting
time and the break interval here.
The following switching times are preset at the
factory:
Connection time -> Ton = 12 s
Interval (break) -> Toff = 60 s
If in doubt about the setting procedure, have trained
service staff carry out the timing.
The studio customer cannot switch this function
on or off!
STRUCTURE OF THE TIME RELAY
The Aroma relay includes 4 adjusting elements: two
rotary switches and two potentiometers.

The upper pair is used to set Ton , the lower pair to
set Toff
(figure 11.2)
; the rotary switch is located above
the potentiometer in both cases. A rotary switch and
a potentiometer together offer the setting options
available for Ton or Toff respectively.
SETTING THE TIME RELAY
The following applies for both setting ranges (Ton /
Toff):

Set the time factor (X) by using the corresponding
rotary switch. Specify the applicable multiplier (1-
10) by setting the potentiometer located below the
switch. -> X*1; X*2; X*3...... - X*10
Example:
Set a time factor of 6 seconds (6-60s) by means of a
rotary switch and select 2 as the multiplier with the
corresponding potentiometer. The switching time
resulting from this setting is 6 * 2 = 12 seconds.

Start-up
Before switching on for the first time:
•Fix the supplied warning sign or one with the
following wording permanently to the wall close to
the tanning unit:
Warning!
• UV radiation can cause eye and skin injury. Ask the studio
staff for further information.
• Wear protective goggles.
• Certain medicines or cosmetics can increase the sensitivity
of the skin to UV radiation.
After the power up:
•Determine the presettings for the sunbed in the
service menu.
•Store these Operating Instructions in a place that
allows for easy access at any time.
Operating modes
The three different operating modes are explained
below:
STANDBY MODE
The unit is in an idle state, i.e. it is connected to the
mains but is currently not being used. The tubes and
the tanning lamps are switched off. From the standby
mode, you can change over to the tanning mode or
to the service mode.
TANNING MODE
The tubes and the tanning lamps are switched on
and a tanning session is in progress. While the unit is
in tanning mode, the settings for the ongoing tanning
session can be changed via the control panel.
FAN RUN-ON
After the tanning session, the fan runs on for 3
minutes in order to cool down the tanning system.
The fan power is automatically decreased as the
tubes cool down.
SERVICE MODE
In the service mode, the device is configured for the
tanning mode. Various values can be displayed and
test functions can be carried out.

Las pieles que se broncean con normalidad
necesitan entre tres y cinco sesiones para obtener un
bronceado homogéneo. Las sesiones de bronceado
deben tener lugar cada dos días. Para mantener el
bronceado, por lo general, basta con tener una o dos
sesiones de bronceado a la semana.
NO UTILICE CREMA SOLAR CON FACTOR DE
PROTECCIÓN
Las cremas solares con factor de protección no son
adecuadas para su uso en el solarium. La piel deberá
estar completamente limpia y seca antes de la
sesión. Recomendamos el uso de nuestra gama de
productos “AfterSun“ para después del bronceado.
Indicaciones para el usuario
Observe las siguientes indicaciones relativas a las
sesiones de bronceado:
GENERALIDADES
•El solarium sólo lo utilizarán las personas aptas
según lo descrito en el capítulo Empleo previsto.
•Los distintos tipos de piel toleran el sol y por ello
la duración de las radiaciones de manera distinta.
Respete las indicaciones de la tabla de fototipos
(se adjunta al aparato) y el tiempo de bronceado.
Una vez alcanzado el bronceado final, sólo se
obtiene un bronceado más intenso, sobrepasando
en exceso el tiempo establecido para la sesión.
Evite siempre este extremo.
•La radiación ultravioleta procedente del sol o de
aparatos puede provocar daños en la piel y los
ojos. Los efectos biológicos dependen tanto de la
calidad y la cantidad de la radiación, así como de la
sensibilidad de la piel de cada individuo.
•La piel puede mostrar quemaduras tras una
radiación excesiva. La exposición excesiva
frecuente a la radiación ultravioleta de la luz solar
o de aparatos puede provocar el envejecimiento
prematuro de la piel y elevar el riesgo de contraer
cáncer de piel.
•Sin protección, la superficie del ojo se puede
inflamar y en determinados casos, por ej, tras una
operación de cataratas, la irradiación excesiva
puede acabar dañando la retina. Tras repetidas
irradiaciones pueden causar cataratas.
•No se broncee si está tomando medicamentos que
aumenten la sensibilidad a la radiación ultravioleta.
En caso de duda consulta a su médico.
•No se puede garantizar en todos los casos que
el uso del solarium reduzca el riesgo de sufrir
quemaduras.
•Acuda al médico si se forman hinchazones
persistentes o llagas en la piel o si nota cambios
en algún lunar pigmentado.
•Los aparatos de irradiación ultravioleta del tipo 4
sólo se han de utilizar previa consulta al médico.
DURANTE LOS BRONCEADOS
•Utilice siempre las gafas suministradas.
•Limpie su piel de productos cosméticos antes de
la sesión y no use protector solar.
•El intervalo entre sesiones será de un mínimo de
48 horas.
•No tome el sol al aire libre después de una sesión
en el solarium ese mismo día.

Tiempo de bronceado
Consulte en la tabla siguiente el tiempo de bronceado
válido que le corresponda en función de su fototipo
y el tipo de aparato. La descripción exacta de los
fototipos puede consultarse en la tabla de fototipos
adjunta. Si han trascurrido cuatro semanas desde la
última sesión, se volverá a empezar desde la primera
sesión. Los tiempos que se indican en la tabla rigen
para aparatos cuyos intervalos de mantenimiento
corresponden con los que figuran en el capítulo
„Mantenimiento“ (Limpieza y sustitución de los
tubos).

PELIGRO!
Sobreexposición a la radiación
ultravioleta.
Una exposición incontrolada durante largo
tiempo ocasiona daños graves en la piel y
los ojos.
• Nunca opere el solárium con un
temporizador defectuoso.

El modo de bronceado se inicia automáticamente
una vez transcurrido el tiempo inicial fijado en
el temporizador. Durante el tiempo inicial puede
iniciarse la sesión de bronceado inmediatamente de
forma manual con la tecla START.
Indicaciones en la pantalla en
el modo de bronceado
A continuación, se representan y describen brevemente
la pantalla y sus elementos de control. Los elementos
de control disponibles en su aparato variarán en
función del equipamiento del aparato así como de los
ajustes realizados en el menú de servicio.

COLOCARSE EN LA POSICIÓN DE EXPOSICIÓN
Durante la sesión de bronceado la parte superior
del bronceador debe estar cerrada, con el fin de
garantizar el funcionamiento correcto del ventilador.
1. Cerrar la parte superior y tumbarse centradamente
en la cama solar. El cuerpo debe encontrarse a la
misma distancia de las lámparas circundantes.
2. Ponerse las gafas protectoras.
INICIAR
Para iniciar durante el tiempo inicial presione la tecla
START. Una vez transcurrido el tiempo inicial fijado,
la sesión de bronceado comienza automáticamente.
PARAR
Mantener presionada la tecla STOP durante al menos
dos segundos. Sonará un tono de confirmación y la
indicación de la duración de la sesión de bronceado
comenzará a parpadear. La sesión de bronceado se
interrumpirá pero el tiempo continuará corriendo. La
sesión de bronceado puede continuarse con la tecla
START, siempre y cuando el tiempo de la sesión no
haya acabado.
Una vez transcurrido el tiempo establecido en el
temporizador, la sesión se detiene automáticamente
y durante tres minutos tiene lugar la desconexión
retardada del ventilador.
Funciones (KBL/4)
Con la tecla más se conecta la función o se
selecciona el valor mayor siguiente. Para
ajustar el valor máximo (por ejemplo, la
potencia del ventilador) debe accionarse la tecla las
veces necesarias para ello.
Con la tecla menos se desconecta la
función o se selecciona el valor menor
siguiente. Para ajustar un valor menor (por
ejemplo, el volumen) debe accionarse la tecla las
veces necesarias para ello.
Con START se conecta el aparato
durante el tiempo inicial. En caso de
que la sesión de bronceado se haya interrumpido
con la tecla STOP, ésta podrá continuar tras presionar
START siempre y cuando el tiempo de la sesión no
haya transcurrido.
Si acciona esta tecla durante al menos
dos segundos podrá finalizar la sesión
de bronceado prematuramente.
INDICACIÓN NUMÉRICA
Durante el programa de bronceado
aquí se indica la duración. Si se
cambia el volumen, aquí se indicará
durante un breve período el valor
ajustado entre 0 ... 99%. Si se modifica la potencia
del ventilador, aquí se indica durante un breve período
el valor entre 20 y 99%.
FIN DE LA SESIÓN DE BRONCEADO
Una vez transcurrido el tiempo de la sesión de
bronceado se iniciará un programa para apagar el
sistema de bronceado: una voz (en caso de soporte
de voz) indica el fin de la sesión de bronceado y se
despide del cliente. Las lámparas UV, los tubos así
como la ventilación se desconectan paso a paso.
Los LED (en aparatos con activeColor) continúan
iluminados en el color ajustado durante 20 segundos
más.

VOLUMEN
Podrá regular el volumen de la música a
través de las teclas “+” y “-“. El volumen se
indica en el campo numérico como un valor
entre 0 ... 99%. Pulse la tecla correspondi-
ente las veces necesarias hasta alcanzar el
volumen deseado. Con la tecla “-“ puede
apagarse la música: en primer lugar debe ajustarse el
valor 20% y después debe presionar la tecla “-“ de
nuevo un rato.
CLIMATIZACIÓN
Con las teclas “+” y “-“ se conectará o
desconectará el climatizador durante la
sesión de bronceado. Una vez desconectado,
el climatizador podrá conectarse de nuevo
una vez transcurridos tres minutos. Se
visualizará una pequeña estrella. Si quiere
conectarlo antes, ésto quedará registrado (estrella
grande) y una vez transcurridos los tres minutos tiene
lugar la conexión automática. Excepción: si la
desconexión tiene lugar a través del aparato de
monedas, entonces es posible la conexión
inmediata.
BRONCEADORES FACIALES
Nivel II: tras el inicio del programa de bronc-
eado los bronceadores faciales se conectarán
automáticamente al máximo nivel.
Nivel I: con la tecla “-“ reducirá la potencia al
nivel 0; accionando prolongadamente la tecla
“-“ desconectará por completo los broncea-
dores faciales.
Con la tecla “+” conectará de nuevo los bronceadores
o bien aumentará la potencia de los mismos.
Tras la desconexión existe un retardo de tiempo para
la reconexión, dado que las lámparas UVA deben en-
friarse primero.
VENTILACIÓN CORPORAL
La potencia de la ventilación corporal puede
aumentarse o reducirse a través de las
teclas “+” y “-“ en pasos de 10%.
Tras la conexión, el ventilador comienza con
el valor que se haya introducido en el menú
de servicio en el nivel II en ACS/A.START.
Para desconectar la ventilación corporal, presione la
tecla “-“ las veces que resulten necesarias hasta que
se indique el valor 20%.
A continuación, presione de nuevo la tecla y
manténgala presionada durante 0,5 segundos. Tras
un retardo de tiempo el ventilador se apaga.
La ventilación puede conectarse nuevamente en
todo momento a través de la tecla “+”.
SUBMENÚ
En este submenú del control, P = Programa significa
que durante la sesión de bronceado el usuario
puede seleccionar entre tres fuentes musicales,
siempre y cuando éstas se encuentren disponibles y
configuradas en el menú de servicio I:
•Música “Wellness” para la relajación (W)
•Música “Pop” (P significa aquí pop)
•Música del control del estudio (S)
Para visualizar P, deben existir y estar configuradas
al menos dos fuentes musicales.
La nueva fuente musical se seleccionará y visualizará
brevemente respectivamente con la tecla “+” o “-“
por encima / por debajo de la “P”.
Para obtener mayor información al respecto consulte
“Menú de Servicio I”.
El símbolo “Selección de canal” significa en
el caso de wellness o pop “título siguiente”
y en el caso de música del estudio “canal
siguiente de la fuente musical externa”.
También aquí se cambia el programa con las
teclas “+” o “-“ por encima del símbolo de la
selección del canal.

SELECCIÓN DEL CANAL
En la fuente musical, aquí podrá seleccionar
con las teclas “+” o “-“ por encima o por
debajo del símbolo el canal siguiente or
regresar al anterior. Para la selección del
canal existe la conmutación a la selección
BCD o de pulso (véase el menú AUDIO en el
nivel de servicio I).
VOLUMEN
El volumen de la música puede cambiarse
con las teclas “+” y “-“. El valor actual (en %)
se visualiza brevemente.
Con la tecla “-“ puede apagarse la música:
en primer lugar debe ajustarse el valor 20%
y después debe presionar la tecla “-“ de
nuevo un rato.
CLIMATIZADOR
Con las teclas “+” o “-“ se conectará o
desconectará el climatizador durante la
sesión de bronceado. Una vez

Indicaciones para el encargado
del centro de bronceado
CONTROLES DIARIOS Y AJUSTES BÁSICOS
Por favor, tenga en cuenta el control y vaciado a diario
del tanque de agua de condensación, el relleno de
los materiales de consumo y los ajustes que puede
realizar en los niveles de servicio del manejo como,
por ejemplo, aroma, control del tiempo, etc.
ILUMINACIÓN DECORATIVA
La iluminación decorativa puede encend-
erse o apagarse cuando no exista ninguna
señal del aparato de monedas presionando
para ello la secuencia de teclas + - + de la
ventilación corporal. Entre cada uno de los
accionamientos de las teclas no puede
transcurrir más de 1 s. Asimismo, tenga en cuenta
las posibilidades para definir dos ciclos de con-
mutación de la iluminación decorativa para cada día
de la semana.
PUREAIR
La función “pureAir” no puede conectarse o
desconectarse por medio de teclas.
Indicación: pureAir y Aroma se excluyen mutuamente.
Durante el tiempo que se desprende Aroma, pureAir
permanece desconectado.
AVISO DE ERROR “SALIDA DE AIRE”
Este aviso de error se visualiza en la pantalla y puede
confirmarse mediante la tecla “Stop”.
Previamente, el Servicio Técnico debe haber
solucionado la causa. Las razones de este aviso son
una temperatura demasiado elevada en el aparato
y/o existe una avería del ventilador del aire de
salida.

Standby/service mode
In standby mode, you can turn the decorative lighting
of the device on and off. In service mode, settings
for operation in tanning mode are made, and certain
values concerning the operation of the unit can be
displayed.
Turning the decorative lighting
on and off
Press the buttons in the following order to turn the
decorative lighting on or off: 5 0 5. Make sure that
you carry out the keystrokes quickly one after the
other!
In addition to this manual setting, you can go to the
service menu and program a timer providing two
independent activation and deactivation times.
Service menu
There are two service levels that can be accessed via
passwords (PIN). Press the buttons 1 ... 0 to reach
these levels and to be able to initiate processes on
these levels. For this reason, the plus and minus
buttons are also marked with numbers.
Two conditions must be fulfilled in order to access
the service screens:
•No error message displayed
•No incoming signal from the coin box/timer
system
If there is an error message pending, eliminate the
fault first and then reset the message by pressing the
“Stop” button.

SERVICE LEVEL I
Press the sequence of buttons 1 6 1 and then
enter the PIN 1 1 1 1 to access service level I.
SERVICE LEVEL II
This level contains service screens that are only used
by the Technical Service staff. You reach level II from
the “PIN II” menu on level I by entering the correct
PIN (not 1 1 1 1). Please request the PIN from
the KBL service organisation.
GENERAL NAVIGATION
After the service level I has been invoked, the
following applies:

The menu item xxxxxh WORK is used to display
the operating hours of the tanning unit.
1. Invoke the display of the operating hours (xxxxxh
WORK) by pressing 0 (minus button) or 5 (plus
button).
2. Press STOP to exit the menu.
Displaying the operating hours
of the tubes ④⑤
The menu item xxxxxh TUBE is used to display the
operating hours of the solarium’s tubes.
1. Invoke the display of the operating hours of

Resetting the operating hours
of the tubes (KBL4/KBL5)

Use the menu item CPI RESET (KBL④) to reset
the operating hours of the tubes to zero for inductive
and CPI-equipped units. These tube hours must be
reset after each replacement of tubes.
1. Invoke the PIN II menu and enter the PIN.
2. Press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select
CPI.
3. Press START to open CPI RESET.
4. Keep 1 (plus button) pressed as long as necessary
to set the hours to zero.
5. Press START to save the settings, then exit the
menu using the STOP button.
Use the menu item RESET h TUBE (KBL⑤) to
reset the operating hours of the tubes to zero. These
tube hours must be reset after each replacement of
tubes.
1. Press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select
RESET h TUBE.
2. Keep 1 (plus button) pressed as long as necessary
to set the hours to zero.
3. Press START to save the settings, then exit the
menu using the STOP button.
Setting the timer function of
the decorative lighting ④
The menu item TIME/DATE allows you to enter two
pairs of times per day at which the decorative lighting
is automatically switched on and off (e.g. Monday at
10:00 h on, at 12:00 h off, at 13.00 h on again, and
at 22:00 h off, Tuesday at 11:00 h on, at 22:00 h off,
etc.). If a switching time is not required, it can be
deleted by pressing 1.
1. Invoke the TIMER menu.
2. Select the days of the week with START and then
press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to set the
desired day.
3. Press START to invoke AON and set the desired
KBL5 and KBL4 processors use different software variants! The KBL5 menu only contains a subset of the setting
options available in the KBL4 menu. The order of the following information refers to the KBL4 menu. KBL4 menu
items are labelled ④. Items pertaining to the KBL5 menu are additionally marked ⑤.

Setting date and time ④
The current time and date are set within the menu
item TIME/DATE. This information is required for
the proper execution of the timer function for the
decorative lighting. Date and time are displayed for
approx. 2 seconds after the unit has been turned on.
1. Invoke the TIME/DATE menu.
2. Choose the time setting with START and set the
time by pressing the plus or minus buttons to the
corresponding number.
3. Choose the date setting using 5 (plus button) or
0 (minus button) and set the date by pressing
the plus or minus buttons to the corresponding
number. The day of the week is determined
automatically.
4. Save the settings using START and press STOP
to exit the menu.

Setting the audio music
system ④[⑤]
STANDARD AUDIO SOURCE ④
The menu item AUDIO/PRESEL is used to determine
which audio source is selected as the default source
when the tanning session is started. Only sources
that are activated under WPS can be selected.
1. Invoke the AUDIO menu.
2. Press START to invoke the submenu and press 5
(plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select WPS.
3. Preselect the desired source by pressing 4 (plus
button) or 9 (minus button).
4. Press START to save the settings and STOP to
exit the menu.
ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING AUDIO SOURCES ④
The menu item AUDIO/WPS is used to determine
which audio sources are to be made available to the
salon client. W=Wellness, P=Pop, S=Studio Music.
In the case of a top mark (apostrophe: ), the cor-
responding source is activated while it is deactivated
if a bottom mark is shown (comma: ). All activated
sources are listed under AUDIO/PRESEL.
1. Invoke the AUDIO menu.
2. Use START to invoke the submenu and 5 (plus
button) or 0 (minus button) to select PRESEL.
Set the desired value by using the plus and minus
buttons to the corresponding letters.
3. Press START to save the settings and leave the
menu by pressing STOP.
MUSIC VOLUME IN TANNING MODE ④
The menu item AUDIO/VOL.HOT is used in order to
determine the volume of the music during a tanning
session. The maximum possible volume of the unit
is at 100 %.
1. Invoke the AUDIO menu.
2. Use START to invoke the submenu and press 5
(plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select VOL.

3. Set the desired percentage by pressing 4 (plus
button) or 9 (minus button).
4. Press START to save the settings and STOP to

whether music is also played during standby
operation (ON) or not (OFF).

3. Set NONSTOP ON by pressing 4 (plus button) or

C (Channel) is deactivated if only external channel
selection with exactly one channel is available as
audio system for the unit. The channel-selection

M (Music) is deactivated if there is no audio system
available. No symbols regarding the audio system

A (Air-conditioning unit) is not displayed if the tanning
system is not equipped with an air-conditioning
unit. No symbols regarding air-conditioning are
displayed.
B (Facial tanners) You can switch the facial tanners
on or off here.
Air-conditioning functions ④
The menu item PIN II/ACS includes three submenus
for the control of the air-conditioning system:
PRESETTING AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT (AIRCON)
Use the menu item AIRCON to specify if the air-
conditioning unit should start automatically at the
beginning of the tanning session (ON) or if it must be
activated manually by the studio customer (OFF).
1. Invoke the PIN II menu and enter the PIN.
2. Press START to invoke the menu item ACS.
3. Select AIRCON by pressing 5 (plus button) or 0
(minus button).
4. Activate the function by pressing 4 (plus button)
or deactivate it by pressing 9 (minus button).
5. Use the START button to save the settings and
press STOP to exit the menu.

El mantenimiento periódico y meticuloso es

de bronceado y, por ello, es imprescindible llevarlo a
cabo y documentarlo!
Con ello contribuirá asimismo notablemente a la
conservación del valor de su bronceador durante un
largo período de tiempo.
Los trabajos de limpieza deben llevarse a cabo
cuando resulten necesarios.

Indicaciones referentes a la
limpieza y al cuidado
INDICACIONES GENERALES
•Durante los trabajos de limpieza deben quitarse los
anillos, las pulseras, los relojes, etc., con el fin de
evitar arañar la superficie.

emplee el limpiador y desinfectante especial
“megaClean” ofrecido por KBL y dilúyalo con agua

PIEZAS LACADAS Y DE PLÁSTICO
•Para la limpieza de las superficies lacadas y de
plástico emplee un paño humedecido en una
solución jabonosa suave.
•No secar frotando las grandes superficies plásticas.
Existe peligro de producir arañazos!
PIEZAS CROMADAS
•Limpiar únicamente con una gamuza húmeda y
un limpiador para cristal acrílico (antiestático). El
limpiador debe aplicarse al paño de limpieza y no
directamente sobre la superficie.

•Para la limpieza de las superficies y las placas
acrílicas no emplee disolventes o desinfectantes
concentrados ni líquidos que contengan alcohol!

DESMONTAJE DE LA PLACA DE LA PARTE SUPERIOR
La placa acrílica de la parte superior se sujeta por
medio de dos perfiles de aluminio en el canto anterior
y en el posterior. El perfil posterior sirve para la guía, el
perfil anterior es giratorio y puede pivotarse hacia abajo.
En las esquinas de la parte superior se encuentra a la
derecha y a la izquierda respectivamente un tornillo
de retención.
•Para soltar la parte superior gire el tornillo derecho
con ayuda de una llave macha hexagonal (8 mm)
un cuarto de vuelta a la izquierda; gire el tornillo
izquierdo un cuarto de vuelta a la derecha. La
siguiente representación muestra este proceso
para el lado derecho.

•Tan pronto como se hayan desbloqueado las dos
retenciones puede abatir el perfil de aluminio hacia

•Extraiga la placa de la cama de la guía trasera y
colóquela en un lugar seguro.
INDICACIÓN: en caso de que en la cama se
encuentre una placa del canal (como es el caso de
bronceadores con climatizador), extraiga la misma
para realizar la limpieza. Preste atención a que
después de la limpieza vuelve a colocar la placa del
canal cuidadosamente en su sitio. ¡De lo contrario
no queda garantizada la refrigeración de la placa de
la cama!

No debe penetrar ningún líquido en los
componentes electrónicos de la cama!
•Para la limpieza de las placas emplee
un paño de microfibras ligeramente
humedecido.

Placas del ltro
FUNCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
Los bronceadores faciales se encuentran equipados
con una función de seguridad adicional. Detrás de
cada placa del filtro se encuentra un interruptor de
protección de la placa encargado de desconectar la
lámpara UVA cuando falta la placa del filtro o ésta
está rota.
PELIGRO!
Nunca opere el bronceador con placas
del filtro que estén defectuosas!
•Realice periódicamente controles
visuales!
•Cambie las placas del filtro únicamente
por otras del mismo tipo!
•Únicamente permita que el desmontaje y
montaje de las placas del filtro lo lleve a

LIMPIEZA
Con el fin de conservar el efecto de bronceado,

reflectores ultravioleta con agua templada y una
gamuza tras 200 horas de funcionamiento. No emplee
limpiadores agresivos ni que contengan alcohol!
Para la limpieza extraiga los tubos de sus soportes
e introdúzcalos de nuevo, con la escritura hacia
delante.
RECAMBIO
Cambie los tubos, los bronceadores faciales y
los iniciadores únicamente por otros del mismo
tipo. Durante el montaje preste atención a que la
escritura quede visible. En esta posición de montaje,
el reflector del tubo se encuentra atrás. Tras cada
cambio de los tubos en los aparatos con técnica CPI
debe realizarse imprescindiblemente un reset! En el
caso de aparatos inductivos, al realizar el cambio de
los tubos deben cambiarse también los iniciadores!
Después de cada cambio resetee el contador de
horas de servicio para los tubos.

presión debe llevarse a cabo únicamente de manos
de personal especializado instruido!

MONTAJE DEL QUEMADOR
La suciedad y una posición inapropiada pueden
ocasionar durante el funcionamiento daños en las
lámparas de alta presión y en los portalámparas. Cuando
coloque las bombillas preste imprescindiblemente
atención a que las superficies de contacto con los
portalámparas y las lámparas están limpias. Coloque
en la posición recta la lámpara de alta presión en los
portalámparas. En estado montado el pequeño cono
de cristal situado en el centro de la lámpara debe
indicar hacia el reflector.

The coloured fluorescent tube in the base part is
located behind the front cover, underneath the bed
pane. Proceed as follows to replace this tube:
•Remove the front cover. It is fixed with screws
at two places along the upper edge (

Filter pads
CLEANING CYCLE
The cooling air is sucked in via two dust filters.
Depending on the location, clean the filter pads
after approx. 100 hour of operation, or replace
them, if necessary. Only use original filter pads for
replacement in order to ensure a troublefree operation.
Take the opportunity to check if the heat exchangers
inside the air-conditioning unit are soiled. Dirty heat
exchangers substantially reduce the performance
of the air-conditioning unit. Vacuum-clean them if
necessary.
FILTER PADS IN THE CANOPY AND IN THE BASE
SECTION
The filter pad of the canopy section

is
located in the gripping profile of the canopy; the filter
pad of the base section

is fitted behind the
front lighting. The pads can simply be removed and

Canopy drive
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
Check and maintain the drive rope after each
tube replacement in order to ensure a trouble-free
operation of the drive.
•Check the canopy drive: the canopy must stop
in all positions. If not, the canopy spring must be
tensioned.
•Should individual rope wires be spliced, replace
the rope immediately!
•Use the spray lubricant HHS 2000 to grease the
rope in the area of the return pulley.

Cooling and exhaust air
COOLING PRINCIPLE
Cooling of the tanning unit: The fan sucks in the
ambient air for cooling through the upper and lower
filter pads. It discharges the warm air via the exhaust
air duct.
Cooling of the body: A fan at the foot end sucks
in ambient air (systems without air-conditioning unit)
or cooled air (systems with air-conditioning unit) and
blows it into the tanning space of the solarium. A
spoiler at the canopy pane leads this air to the face
area.
Cooling of the bed pane: The air that is cooled down
in the air-conditioning unit is blown towards the foot
end between the bed pane and the ducting pane and
then led further into the tanning space.
MAINTENANCE OF THE EXHAUST AND AIR-
CONDITIONING UNIT
A clean and trouble-free exhaust-air unit prevents
the tanning system from overheating. The maximum
exhaust-air hose length of 6 m must not be exceeded
unless there is an auxiliary fan installed.

unit for dirt accumulation with each tube replacement.
Soiled heat exchangers reduce the performance of
the air-conditioner.
•Open the front cover and vacuum-clean the heat
exchangers, if necessary.
•Check the air hose each time you change tubes. If
it is defective, replace it immediately.

MAINTENANCE OF THE CONDENSATE PUMP
The condensate pump is controlled by the processor
in such a way that it is switched on every 5 minutes
for 20 seconds during a tanning session. After the
session, the pump continues operating.
Always check the proper functioning of the
condensate pump when you replace tubes.
•Start the tanning program.
•Open the front cover and slowly pour water into the
condensate tray.
•The water must be pumped off. The unit must
remain connected to the power supply after the
tanning session in order to enable the run-on of the
pump.
•The condensate hose must be guided into the
canister without any kinks and up to a level that
does not exceed the installation level by more than
25 cm.
Audio system with mp3 sound
box
In the lower part there are, inter alia, the components
for:
•megaVoice,theacousticuserguide,
•mp3soundboxforthe“Music”option,and
•I2Caudioswitch
The audio switch is used for I2C bus adaptation,
for connecting an external audio signal with volume
control and the connections to the MP3 players.
The memory card for the mp3 sound box can be
exchanged after opening the front panel and pull out
the ballast trolly.

Recording to an SD card
Please refer to the chapter “Technical data” for
information on supported card sizes as well as file-
system and MP3 formats.
Using the SD Writer software (download from http://
www.kbl-support.de/software/software.html), you
can add or delete audio files to the SD card for music
at your convenience. These tracks are played after
the corresponding source has been selected. The
number of files is limited by the storage capacity of
the SD card.
1. Insert the card into the computer.
2. Activate SD Writer and copy files onto the card.
3. Insert the card into the MP3 player.
4. Restart the device. To do so, pull out the main plug
and plug it in again. In this way, you make sure
that the MP3 player will identify the SD card.
WARNING!
•The SD card must only be formatted
using FAT16!
•Only change the data of the MUSIC
MP3 player!
