Este manual está orientado
al personal del operario•
a los usuarios•
a los empleados de servicio.•
Cualquier persona que maneje este aparato deberá
conocer el contenido de estas instrucciones y haberlo
comprendido.
Tenga el manual siempre a mano.

Indicaciones de seguridad
En este capítulo encontrará un resumen de las
indicaciones generales relativas a la seguridad y
al manejo del aparato. Encontrará indicaciones
específi cas en cada uno de los de este manual de
instrucciones.
Empleo previsto
El aparato ha sido concebido para el bronceado
individual de una persona, que no presente factores
de riesgo que desaconsejen el bronceado. Las
siguientes personas no deben utilizar el aparato:
Personas menores de 18 años.
•
Personas con marcapasos•
Personas, que al exponerse al sol sufran •
quemaduras sin llegar a broncearse (fototipo I).
Personas que hayan sufrido una quemadura de •
sol.
Personas que sufran o hayan sufrido cáncer de piel •
o que sean propensos a sufrirlo.
Personas que tomen medicamentos.
•
Asimismo el aparato no ha sido concebido para
personas con discapacidades físicas, sensoriales o
intelectuales, así como con falta de experiencia y/
o conocimientos insufi cientes. Si el aparato está al
alcance de los niños deben de estar bajo vigilancia
para evitar que jueguen con él.
Obligaciones del titular
KBL Solarien no se hace responsable de los daños
que se produzcan por el manejo indebido o por no
observar el presente manual de instrucciones. Sólo se
podrán montar recambios originales, especialmente
tubos y quemadores, de lo contrario quedan anuladas
la autorizacion de uso y la garantía.
Funcionamiento del
temporizador
El aparato deberá funcionar a través de un
temporizador externo. Si falla el temporizador externo
un temporizador interno de seguridad desconecta
automáticamente el solarium pasados 30 min.
Indicaciones generales de
seguridad
Obsérvense todas las indicaciones de este manual. •
Tenga en cuenta también todas las regulaciones y
normativas legales vigentes y de otra índole – tam-
bién las del país del usuario.
El aparato deberá ser montado en instalado sólo
•
por personal cualifi cado.
No se podrán realizar modifi caciones ni montar
•
piezas en el aparato por cuenta propia.
Obsérvense todas las advertencias de seguridad y •
peligro dispuestas en el aparato.
No se deben desmontar ni anular los dispositivos o •
o advertencias de seguridad.
El aparato sólo se utilizará estando en perfecto es-
•
tado técnico.
No utilice nunca el aparato con los revestimientos •
exteriores o paneles acrílicos desmontados.
El aparato se controlará con un temporizador. que •
cumpla con las normas vigentes.
Respete obligatoriamente los intervalos de man-
•
tenimiento del programa de mantenimiento.
Sesiones de bronceado
La duración de las sesiones de bronceado se
respetarán obligatoriamente.

Transport
Transport by forklift truck
The device is mounted on a pallet.
Insert the forks carefully into the openings of the •
pallet.
Lift the load by a few centimetres.
•
Transport the load carefully to the place of •
installation.
Other modes of transport
If a forklift truck cannot be used for transport, the
box must be unpacked and the parts inside must be
transported individually to the place of installation,
e.g. using a dolly. Depending on the weight of the
components, lifting them might require several
people.

This tanning system complies with the following
standards in their respectively applicable version:
EN 60335-2-27

EMV 2004/108/EC•
An EC Declaration of Conformity can be requested
from the manufacturer.
Components
The tanning unit basicallly consists of the following
components:
The canopy including 18 tubes, ambient air •
supply, facial tanners and two P2 tubes
The side part including 6 tubes•
The base part including 18 tubes, the electronics •
unit and further, optionally available components

Connections
Connecting the mains voltage
DANGER!
Live components
Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock
when touching live parts.
- Switch off mains voltage.
- Protect against re-connection.
Both the power supply and the related connection
work must comply with national standards, e.g. those
set up by VDE in Germany. The connection work must
only be performed by qualifi ed expert staff.
The connection to the 400 V mains must be protected
by fuses. Their specifi cations are listed in the chapter
“Technical data”.
A residual current-operated circuit breaker (RCD) is
absolutely required. KBL-Solarien AG recommends
the following type: KBL 3200 0770 00 (type ABB F
374 63/0.03A)
Should the operation of the tanning unit cause any
interference in the power supply network, e.g. with
ripple-control systems (TRA), consult your power
supply company to have corresponding blocking
elements (audio frequency suppressors) installed.

source
When connecting an external audio source, pay
attention to the correct polarity.

Level adjustment
The voice/audio system components are built
into the base part (in the head area) of the tanning
unit. The total level adjustment is carried out via a
potentiometer (see arrow) that is located on the audio
switch circuit board.

Operation using different
audio sources
The tanning unit can be operated using the following
audio sources:
An internal MP3 player alone•
An external audio source alone•
Both audio sources•
Use the control panel to alternate between internal
and external audio source.
INTERNAL MP3 PLAYER
When using the internal MP3 player, you can either
play the music tracks that are originally supplied on
the SD card, or you can record your own tracks on
the SD card.
EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCES
As an external audio source, you can connect
devices ranging from the standard-line level to low
loudspeaker levels.
These sources comprise:
the studio music, and
•
external players such as MP3 players, mobile •
phones (cell phones), iPods, etc.
EXTERNAL AUDIO SIGNAL 100 V
(OPTIONAL FEATURE)
A transformer (KBL item no.: 9100 0170 00) is re-
quired for the transmission of the audio signal if a
100 V audio system is connected.
The connection must be carried out by trained ser-
vice staff.
Studio music
The level of the studio music can be adjusted by
means of a potentiometer on the line box. The box is
located below the bed, on the right-hand front side
(fi gure 9.1)
It is only fi xed by Velcro tape and can be removed.

music to the level of the integrated MP3 player.

External players
A line-in connector is available in the head area of
the bed, on the right-hand side, so that the studio
client can plug in his/her own equipment, e. g. MP3
player, iPod, etc.

. Use a standard 3.5 mm
jack cable (included if the music option has been
ordered). If an external player is plugged into this
connector, the system switches over automatically
and plays the music of the personal player. This
assumes that you have selected the “Studio” option
of the menu item “Audio” in the service menu I.
A level adjustment is performed using the volume
control of the panel of the solarium, and the volume
control of the external player.

The tanning unit can only be operated with audio
sources if you have purchased the optionally available
audio package.
For further information, please refer to the chapters
“Connections” and “Operation in service mode”.
Connecting the external timer
Connect the external timer (coin box, studio control)
according to the instructions supplied with the timer.
The following diagram shows the wiring requirements
with regard to the timer. The door contact is required if
you have opted for the booth-scenting feature.

connections
AQUACOOL
The aquaCool box is equipped with a connection
for liquid-level monitoring as well as with a hose
connection each for the supply of the aquaCool liquid
and the compressed air .

AROMA
The optionally available Aroma box is attached to
the rear side of the aquaCool box. The Aroma box is
equipped with three hose connections, one leading to
the Aroma tin and the other two to the ventilation
ducts of the foot nozzles .

Start-up
Before switching on for the fi rst time:
Fix the supplied warning sign or one with the •
following wording permanently to the wall close to
the tanning unit:
Warning!
UV radiation can cause eye and skin injury. Ask the studio •
staff for further information.
Wear protective goggles. •
Certain medicines or cosmetics can increase the sensitivity •
of the skin to UV radiation.
Determine the presettings for the device in the •
service menu.
Store these Operating Instructions in a place that •
allows for easy access at any time.
Operating modes
The three different operating modes are explained
below:
STANDBY MODE
The unit is in an idle state, i.e. it is connected to the
mains but is currently not being used. The tubes and
the tanning lamps are switched off. From the standby
mode, you can change over to the tanning mode or
to the service mode.
TANNING MODE
The tubes and the tanning lamps are switched on
and a tanning session is in progress. While the unit is
in tanning mode, the settings for the ongoing tanning
session can be changed via the control panel.
FAN RUN-ON
After the tanning session, the fan runs on for 3
minutes in order to cool down the device. The fan
power is automatically decreased as the tubes cool
down.
SERVICE MODE
In the service mode, the device is confi gured for the
tanning mode. Various values can be displayed and
test functions can be carried out.

Instrucciones para el bronceado
Las pieles que se broncean con normalidad
necesitan entre tres y cinco sesiones para obtener un
bronceado homogéneo. Las sesiones de bronceado
deben tener lugar cada dos días. Para mantener el
bronceado, por lo general, basta con tener una o dos
sesiones de bronceado a la semana.
NO UTILICE CREMA SOLAR CON FACTOR DE
PROTECCIÓN
Las cremas solares con factor de protección no son
adecuadas para su uso en el solarium. La piel deberá
estar completamente limpia y seca antes de la
sesión. Recomendamos el uso de nuestra gama de
productos “AfterSun“ para después del bronceado.
Indicaciones para el usuario
Observe las siguientes indicaciones relativas a las
sesiones de bronceado:
GENERALIDADES
El solarium sólo lo utilizarán las personas aptas •
según lo descrito en el capítulo Empleo previsto.
Los distintos tipos de piel toleran el sol y por ello
•
la duración de las radiaciones de manera distinta.
Respete las indicaciones de la tabla de fototipos
(se adjunta al aparato) y el tiempo de bronceado.
Una vez alcanzado el bronceado fi nal, sólo se
obtiene un bronceado más intenso, sobrepasando
en exceso el tiempo establecido para la sesión.
Evite siempre este extremo.
La radiación ultravioleta procedente del sol o de
•
aparatos puede provocar daños en la piel y los
ojos. Los efectos biológicos dependen tanto de la
calidad y la cantidad de la radiación, así como de la
sensibilidad de la piel de cada individuo.
La piel puede mostrar quemaduras tras una
•
radiación excesiva. La exposición excesiva
frecuente a la radiación ultravioleta de la luz solar
o de aparatos puede provocar el envejecimiento
prematuro de la piel y elevar el riesgo de contraer
cáncer de piel.
Sin protección, la superfi cie del ojo se puede
•
infl amar y en determinados casos, por ej, tras una
operación de cataratas, la irradiación excesiva
puede acabar dañando la retina. Tras repetidas
irradiaciones pueden causar cataratas.
No se broncee si está tomando medicamentos que
•
aumenten la sensibilidad a la radiación ultravioleta.
En caso de duda consulta a su médico.
No se puede garantizar en todos los casos que
•
el uso del solarium reduzca el riesgo de sufrir
quemaduras.
Acuda al médico si se forman hinchazones
•
persistentes o llagas en la piel o si nota cambios
en algún lunar pigmentado.
Los aparatos de irradiación ultravioleta del tipo 4
•
sólo se han de utilizar previa consulta al médico.
DURANTE LOS BRONCEADOS
Utilice siempre las gafas suministradas.•
Limpie su piel de productos cosméticos antes de •
la sesión y no use protector solar.
El intervalo entre sesiones será de un mínimo de •
48 horas.
No tome el sol al aire libre después de una sesión •
en el solarium ese mismo día.
Tiempo de bronceado
Consulte en la tabla siguiente el tiempo de bronceado
válido que le corresponda en función de su fototipo
y el tipo de aparato. La descripción exacta de los
fototipos puede consultarse en la tabla de fototipos
adjunta. Si han trascurrido cuatro semanas desde la
última sesión, se volverá a empezar desde la primera
sesión. Los tiempos que se indican en la tabla rigen
para aparatos cuyos intervalos de mantenimiento
corresponden con los que fi guran en el capítulo
„Mantenimiento“ (Limpieza y sustitución de los
tubos).

Modo de bronceado
PELIGRO!
Dosis excesiva de radiación ultravioleta.
El bronceado excesivo y prolongado provoca
daños graves en la piel y en los ojos.
No utilice nunca el solarium, si el •
temporizador está averiado.
Respete siempre los tiempos que fi guran •
en el programa de bronceado.
El modo de bronceado inicia automáticamente tras
concluir el tiempo de inicio programado. Durante
el tiempo de inicio puede iniciar manualmente el
bronceado con la tecla START.
Indicaciones de la pantalla en
el modo de bronceado
Seguidamente se describen la pantalla y sus mandos
en el modo de bronceado y se enumeran brevemente.
Los mandos disponibles en su aparato dependen del
equipamiento del mismo y de los ajustes del menú de
servicio.

COLOCARSE EN LA POSICIÓN DE EXPOSICIÓN
Durante la sesión de bronceado la parte superior
del bronceador debe estar cerrada, con el fi n de
garantizar el funcionamiento correcto del ventilador.
Cerrar la parte superior y tumbarse centradamente 1.
en la cama solar. El cuerpo debe encontrarse a la
misma distancia de las lámparas circundantes.
Ponerse las gafas protectoras.2.
INICIAR
Para iniciar durante el tiempo inicial presione la tecla
START. Una vez transcurrido el tiempo inicial fi jado,
la sesión de bronceado comienza automáticamente.
PARAR
Mantener presionada la tecla STOP durante al menos
dos segundos. Sonará un tono de confi rmación y la
indicación de la duración de la sesión de bronceado
comenzará a parpadear. La sesión de bronceado se
interrumpirá pero el tiempo continuará corriendo. La
sesión de bronceado puede continuarse con la tecla
START, siempre y cuando el tiempo de la sesión no
haya acabado.
Una vez transcurrido el tiempo establecido en el
temporizador, la sesión se detiene automáticamente
y durante tres minutos tiene lugar la desconexión
retardada del ventilador.
Funciones (KBL/4)
Con la tecla más se conecta la función o se
selecciona el valor mayor siguiente. Para
ajustar el valor máximo (por ejemplo, la
potencia del ventilador) debe accionarse la tecla las
veces necesarias para ello.
Con la tecla menos se desconecta la
función o se selecciona el valor menor
siguiente. Para ajustar un valor menor (por
ejemplo, el volumen) debe accionarse la tecla las
veces necesarias para ello.
Con START se conecta el aparato
durante el tiempo inicial. En caso de
que la sesión de bronceado se haya interrumpido
con la tecla STOP, ésta podrá continuar tras presionar
START siempre y cuando el tiempo de la sesión no
haya transcurrido.
Si acciona esta tecla durante al menos
dos segundos podrá fi nalizar la sesión
de bronceado prematuramente.
INDICACIÓN NUMÉRICA
Durante el programa de bronceado
aquí se indica la duración. Si se
cambia el volumen, aquí se indicará
durante un breve período el valor
ajustado entre 0 ... 99%. Si se modifi ca la potencia
del ventilador, aquí se indica durante un breve período
el valor entre 20 y 99%.
FIN DE LA SESIÓN DE BRONCEADO
Una vez transcurrido el tiempo de la sesión de
bronceado se iniciará un programa para apagar el
sistema de bronceado: una voz (en caso de soporte
de voz) indica el fi n de la sesión de bronceado y se
despide del cliente. Las lámparas UV, los tubos así
como la ventilación se desconectan paso a paso.
Los LED (en aparatos con activeColor) continúan
iluminados en el color ajustado durante 20 segundos
más.

MENÚ AMPLIADO
Las fl echas dobles indican que hay
otros menús que se pueden abrir
pulsando “+“ o “-“ encima o debajo
de la fl echa doble. Se dispone de los
siguientes menús, descritos más abajo:
Canal de música / Clima / Estimulador cromático
Aroma
Guía acústica de menús
Abriendo estas otras funciones de menús se le
mostrarán qué funciones están activas al encender el
aparato (1=on; 0=off). Se pueden programar ajustes
de bronceado personalizados de los clientes en el
menú de servicio.
VOLUMEN
Puede ajustar el volumen de la música con
las teclas “+“ y “-“. El volumen se muestra
en el campo numérico como valor entre 0
… 99%. Pulse la tecla correspondiente
hasta que se ajuste el volumen deseado.
Con la tecla “-“ puede apagar la música:
Primero se ajusta el valor 20% y después de pulsa
prolongadamente la tecla “-“.
AQUACOOL
Aquí puede encender la función
aquaCool (tecla +, el símbolo par-
padea) o apagarlo (tecla -, el sím-
bolo no parpadea). El preajuste
inicial depende de como se ha se-
leccionado en el nivel de servicio I,
menú AAC/Aqua. Si la reserva del aquaCool se está
acabando, se muestra entre las sesiones el aviso
Aqua low en la pantalla. La reserva de aquaCool
bastará una vez se muestre el aviso por primera vez
para aprox. 2,5 horas de servicio con aquaCool. Si la
reserva de aquaCool está agotada, aparace el aviso
Aqua 0% y el símbolo aparace tachado. Si el apara-
to ha de seguir funcionando sin aquaCool puede
desconectar el aviso y el símbolo. Cambie para ello
en el nivel de servicio II en el menú AAC el submenú
Aqua a OFF.
BRONCEADOR FACIAL / BRONCEADOR DE
HOMBROS
El mando del bronceador de hombros está
acoplado al bronceador facial. El bronceador
de hombros se activa junto al bronceador
facial, pero no se puede reducir su potencia.
Si se apaga el bronceador facial, también se
apaga el bronceador de hombros.
Importante: No utilice el bronceador de hombros sin la
unidad del quemador.
Nivel II: tras el inicio del programa de bronceado los
bronceadores faciales se conectarán automáticamente
al máximo nivel.
Nivel I: con la tecla “-“ reducirá la potencia al nivel 0: ac-
cionando prolongadamente la tecla “-“ desconectará
por completo los bronceadores faciales. Con la tecla
“+” conectará de nuevo los bronceadores o bien au-
mentará la potencia de los mismos.
Tras la desconexión existe un retardo de tiempo para
la reconexión, dado que las lámparas UVA deben en-
friarse primero.

VENTILACIÓN CORPORAL
La potencia de la ventilación corporal se
puede aumentar o reducir con las teclas + y
- en pasos de 10%. Después del encendido
arranca el ventilador con el valor ajustado
en el menú de servicio del nivel II bajo ACS/
A.START. Para apagar la ventilación
corporal pulse „-“ hasta que se muestre el valor 20%.
Después vuelva a pulsar la tecla y manténgala
pulsada durante 0,5 segundos. Transcurrido un
retardo se apaga el ventilador. La ventilación se
podrá volver a encender con la “+“ siempre que se
desee.
PRIMER SUBMENÚ
/
SELECCIÓN DEL CANAL
Aquí puede seleccionar la fuente de audio,
por ejemplo, cambiar un canal o pasar al
próximo título (en el repr. MP3).
El titular del solarium puede seleccionar la
música y reproducirla en el chip a través
del ordenador. El reproductor de MP3 ha
sido concebido para que sólo se tenga que cambiar
la tarjeta SD. Todos los aparatos que disponen de
reproductor MP3 se suministran con la música del
CD „megaSun & friends“. Opcionalmente se puede
escuchar si se desea durante la pausa del bronceado
la música del reproductor MP3. El cambio se efectúa
con las teclas “+“ o “-“ encima o debajo del símbolo.
Para la selección del canal se dispone del cambio
a selección BCD (v. el menú AUDIO en el nivel de
servicio I). Nota: La música de la unidad de MP3 sólo
se puede manejar con una fuente de audio, es decir,
a través del chip del MP3 o a través de una fuente de
audio externa.
CLIMA
Esta función sólo se encuentra en esta
posición del menú, cuando aquaCool está
confi gurado. De lo contrario se encuentra
en el nivel siguiente. Con las teclas “+“ o
“-“ se conecta o deconecta el climatizador
durante el bronceado. Después de apagar el
climatizador puede volverse a encender transcurridos
3 min. Se muestra una estrella pequeña. Si se intenta
conectar antes, queda registrado (estrella grande) y
pasados los 3 min. se conecta automáticamente.
Excepto cuando se apaga porque se acaba la
moneda, entonces se podrá encender
inmediatamente.
A PARTIR DE LA VERSIÓN DE SOFTWARE 6.0
EN EL CASO DEL SOLARIUM CON EASYCARE A
PARTIR DE LA VERSIÓN 3.0
En este primer submenú del mando, P = programa,
el usuario podrá seleccionar durante el bronceado
entre tres fuentes de audio, (si están disponibles y
confi guradas en el menú de servicio):
Música wellness

Música pop •
Música del mando del hilo musical•
Para que P se muestre han de estar disponibles y
confi guradas al menos dos fuentes de audio. La
fuente de audio nueva se selecciona y se muestra
brevemente con la tecla “+“ o “-“ encima / debajo de
la “P“. Para más detalles consulte el menú de servicio
I. El símbolo “Selección de canal“ signifi ca en el
caso de la música wellness o pop “Título siguiente“
y en el caso del hilo musical “Siguiente canal de la
fuente de audio externa“. También aquí se cambia
con las teclas “+“ o “-“ situadas encima del símbolo
Selección de canal.

WELLNESSCOLOR G
Esta opción consiste en la iluminación con 24 diodos
verdes, que no son conectar o desconectar (no es una
función de menú). La función de color que se muestra
en el menú “activeColor“ (R - G - B) no está activa
y ya no está disponible en el megaSun 5600/5800.
Sólo se incluye por motivos de compatibilidad.
ACTIVECOLOR SÓLO ESTÁ DISPONIBLE EN EL
MEGASUN BEAUTY.
AROMA
La función “aroma“
puede activarse y
desactivarse con las teclas “+“ y “-“. La indicación
parpadea cuando la función está desconectada. KBL
ofrece 2 perfumes aromáticos: “Sunrise“ y
“Daydream“. En el aparato sólo se incluye un perfume
que puede sustituirse fácilmente. El perfume
aromático va ligado a un gel. En este caso se tendrá
en cuenta que el gel no se consume por completo y
deja pequeños residuos. Este estado se muestra en
la pantalla, de manera que el usuario siempre sabrá
cuando tiene que cambiarlo. El perfume fl uye sólo
hacia los “pies“ del aparato. Aroma y aquaCool se
activan uno tras otro directamente (Aroma - aquaCool
- Aroma) e inician repetidamente en intervalos de un
minuto.
Nota: pureAir y Aroma se excluyen recíprocamente.
En el momento en que Aroma fl uye, pureAir se
desconecta.
MEGAVOICE
La función “Voice“ puede
activarse y desactivarse
con las teclas ”+” (2-5) y “-“ (6-0) respectivamente.
La indicación parpadea cuando la función está
desactivada. megaVoice guía al cliente de forma
rápida y sencilla por el manejo del solarium. Si lo
desea el cliente puede desactivar megaVoice durante
el bronceado.
PUREAIR
La función “pureAir“ no se puede activar o desactivar
con teclas. Nota: pureAir y Aroma se excluyen
recíprocamente. En el momento en que Aroma fl uye,
pureAir se desconecta.

con las teclas “+“ y “-“. El valor actual (en %)
se muestra brevemente.
Con la tecla “-“ se puede apagar la música:
Primero se ajusta el valor 20% y se vuelve a
pulsar la tecla “-“ prolongadamente.
CLIMATIZADOR
Con las teclas “+“ o “-“ conecta o
desconecta el climatizador durante el
bronceado. Una vez desconectado sólo se
podrá volver a conectar después de 3 min.
Se muestra una pequeña estrella. Si se
intenta conectar antes queda registrado
(estrella grande) y pasados los 3 min. se conecta
automáticamente. Excepto cuando se apaga porque
se acaba el tiempo pagadoo, entonces se podrá
encender inmediatamente.
BRONCEADOR FACIAL/BRONCEADOR DE
HOMBROS
El mando del bronceador de hombros está

Consejos para el titular del
solarium
COMPROBACIONES DIARIAS Y AJUSTES
BÁSICOS.
Compruebe y vacíe a diario el depósito de
condensado, reponga los medios que se consumen
y realice los ajustes en los niveles de servicio del
mando, como pueden ser la estimulación cromática,
el aroma, los temporizados, etc.
ILUMINACIÓN
La iluminación se puede activar o desacti-
var (si no hay una señal en el monedero)
pulsando las teclas + - + de la ventilación
corporal. Al pulsar no se ha de tardar más
de 1 seg. entre tecla y tecla. Tenga también
en cuenta la posibilidad de programar para
cada día de la semana, dos ciclos de encendido de
la iluminación nocturna.
MENSAJE DE ERROR “EXHAUST AIR” (AIRE
EVACUADO)
Este mensaje de error se muestra en la pantalla y se
puede acusar (confi rmar) con la tecla “Stop“.
Antes tiene que haber subsanado la causa que lo ha
provocado. Los motivos para que aparezca dicho
mensaje son: Temperatura excesiva en el aparato o
turbina de aire evacuado averiada.

of the device on and off. In service mode, settings
for operation in tanning mode are made, and certain
values concerning the operation of the unit can be
displayed.

Press the buttons in the following order to turn the
decorative lighting on or off: 5 0 5. Make sure that
you carry out the keystrokes quickly one after the
other!
In addition to this manual setting, you can go to the
service menu and program a timer providing two
independent activation and deactivation times.
Service menu
There are two service levels that can be accessed via
passwords (PIN). Press the buttons 1 ... 0 to reach
these levels and to be able to initiate processes on
these levels. For this reason, the plus and minus
buttons are also marked with numbers.
Two conditions must be fulfi lled in order to access
the service screens:
No error message displayed

No incoming signal from the coin box/timer •
system
If there is an error message pending, eliminate the
fault fi rst and then reset the message by pressing the
“Stop” button.

Information about operation
Select the menu item Operation-Info to display
the working hours of the tanning system (WORK),
the operating hours of the tubes (TUBE) as well as
temperature information.
Displaying the operating hours
of the solarium
The menu item xxxxxh WORK is used to display
the operating hours of the tanning unit.
Invoke the display of the operating hours (xxxxxh 1.
WORK) by pressing 0 (minus button) or 5 (plus
button).
Press STOP to exit the menu.2.
Displaying the operating hours
of the tubes
The menu item xxxxxh TUBE is used to display the
operating hours of the solarium’s tubes.
Invoke the display of the operating hours of 1.

button) or 5 (plus button).

Resetting the operating hours
of the tubes (KBL4/KBL5)
Use the menu item CPI RESET (KBL4) to reset the
operating hours of the tubes to zero for inductive and
CPI-equipped units. These tube hours must be reset
after each replacement of tubes.
Invoke the 1. PIN II menu and enter the PIN.
Press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select 2.
CPI.
Press START to open 3. CPI RESET.
Keep 1 (plus button) pressed as long as necessary 4.
to set the hours to zero.

Use the menu item RESET h TUBE (KBL5) to reset

Setting the timer function of
the decorative lighting
The menu item TIME/DATE allows you to enter two
pairs of times per day at which the decorative lighting
is automatically switched on and off (e.g. Monday at
10:00 h on, at 12:00 h off, at 13.00 h on again, and
at 22:00 h off, Tuesday at 11:00 h on, at 22:00 h off,
etc.). If a switching time is not required, it can be
deleted by pressing 1.
Invoke the 1. TIMER menu.
Select the days of the week with START and then 2.
press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to set the
desired day.
Press START to invoke 3. AON and set the desired
KBL5 and KBL4 processors use different software variants! The KBL5 menu only contains a subset of the setting
options available in the KBL4 menu. The order of the following information refers to the KBL4 menu. KBL4 menu
items are labelled . Items pertaining to the KBL5 menu are additionally marked .

Setting date and time
The current time and date are set within the menu
item TIME/DATE. This information is required for
the proper execution of the timer function for the
decorative lighting. Date and time are displayed for
approx. 2 seconds after the unit has been turned on.

Choose the time setting with START and set the 2.

SETTING THE AQUACOOL CYCLE TIME
The menu item AAC/Cycle is used to set the
interval between spraying cycles: between 0.5 and
5 minutes.
Invoke the 1. AAC menu.
Press START to invoke the submenu and 5 (plus 2.
button) or 0 (minus button) to select Cycle.
Set the cycle time using 4 (plus button) or 9 (minus 3.
button) .
Press the START button to save the settings and 4.
leave the menu by pressing STOP.
PRESETTING TANNING MODE
Use the menu item AAC/AQUA/AQUA to determine
whether aquaCool is started automatically with the
tanning session (AQUA ON) or if it can be activated
manually by the studio client (AQUA OFF).
Invoke the 1. AAC menu.
Invoke the submenu by pressing START twice; 2.
then press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to
select AQUA.

INITIALISING AQUACOOL
The menu item AAC/AQUA/INIT is used to start a
spraying cycle of 90 seconds. This is required before
the start-up or after a repair in order to exhaust the
system.

Start the spraying cycle by pressing 1 (plus 3.

door of the booth is opened or closed.

First, select the submenu by pressing START 2.

FILLING LEVEL OF AROMA GEL
The fi lling level of the Aroma gel container is indicated
under the menu item AAC/AROMA/AR.CONT.

Setting the audio music
system
STANDARD AUDIO SOURCE
The menu item AUDIO/PRESEL is used to determine
which audio source is selected as the default source
when the tanning session is started. Only sources
that are activated under WPS can be selected.
Invoke the 1. AUDIO menu.
Press START to invoke the submenu and press 5 2.
(plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select WPS.
Preselect the desired source by pressing 4 (plus 3.
button) or 9 (minus button).
Press START to save the settings and STOP to 4.

ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING AUDIO SOURCES
The menu item AUDIO/WPS is used to determine
which audio sources are to be made available to the
salon client. W=Wellness, P=Pop, S=Studio Music.
In the case of a top mark (apostrophe: ), the cor-
responding source is activated while it is deactivated
if a bottom mark is shown (comma: ). All activated
sources are listed under AUDIO/PRESEL.
Invoke the 1. AUDIO menu.
Use START to invoke the submenu and 5 (plus 2.
button) or 0 (minus button) to select PRESEL.
Set the desired value by using the plus and minus
buttons to the corresponding letters.

MUSIC VOLUME IN TANNING MODE
The menu item AUDIO/VOL.HOT is used in order to
determine the volume of the music during a tanning
session. The maximum possible volume of the unit
is at 100 %.
Invoke the AUDIO menu. 1.

Depending on the confi guration of your system, the
menu item PIN II/CMAB allows you to switch on or
off certain functions.
Invoke the 1. PIN II menu and enter the PIN.
Set the desired value by pressing the plus and 2.
minus buttons of the corresponding letter.
Save the settings by pressing START, press STOP 3.

C (Channel) is deactivated if only external channel
selection with exactly one channel is available as
audio system for the unit. The channel-selection
symbol is not displayed.
M (Music) is deactivated if there is no audio system
available. No symbols regarding the audio system
are displayed.
A (Air-conditioning unit) is not displayed if the tanning
system is not equipped with an air-conditioning
unit. No symbols regarding air-conditioning are
displayed.
B (Facial tanners) You can switch the facial tanners
on or off here.
Air-conditioning functions
The menu item PIN II/ACS includes three submenus
for the control of the air-conditioning system:
PRESETTING AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT (AIRCON)
Use the menu item AIRCON to specify if the air-
conditioning unit should start automatically at the
beginning of the tanning session (ON) or if it must be
activated manually by the studio customer (OFF).
Invoke the 1. PIN II menu and enter the PIN.
Press START to invoke the menu item 2. ACS.
Select 3. AIRCON by pressing 5 (plus button) or 0
(minus button).
Activate the function by pressing 4 (plus button) 4.
or deactivate it by pressing 9 (minus button).

INCREASING THE FAN SPEED (OFFSET)
The menu item OFFSET is used to defi ne whether
the fan should operate at a higher speed. An OFFSET
of 00-99% can be set in steps of 10 %. This measure
may become necessary in the case of poor venting.
Note that such modifi cations must only be carried
out by service staff!
Invoke the 1. PIN II menu and enter the PIN.
Press START to invoke the menu item 2. ACS.
Select 3. OFFSET by pressing 5 (plus button) or 0
(minus button).
Press 4 (plus button) to increase the value or 9 4.
(minus button) to decrease the value.
Save the settings by pressing START and exit the 5.

INCREASING THE FAN SPEED (A.START)
A.START is used to specify the fan speed at the
beginning of the tanning session. Values between 20
and 99% can be set. The value can also be changed
manually during the tanning session.

Press START to go to the menu item 2. ACS.
Select 3. A.START by pressing 5 (plus button) or 0
(minus button).
Press 4 (plus button) to increase the value or 9 4.

covers the whole of the tanning time.

Press 5 (plus button) or 0 (minus button) to select 2.
TEST.
Press the START button to invoke the submenu 3.

Setting the easyCare unit
The menu items concerning easyCare are only dis-
played if the tanning system is equipped with an

The session time set here is used whenever
easyCare is activated without allowing for mak-
ing settings via the easyCare display itself
(T.Display = OFF).

The relay test is used to test the functionality of any
possible combination of power levels of tubes and
sunlamps. In order to be able to carry out this test,
there must be an incoming timer signal.

Open the submenu by pressing START and select 3.

Maintenance and cleaning
Regular maintenance is required for the safe operation
of the tanning unit and must be documented. Cleaning
must be performed when necessary.

BLOQUEO DE LA CUBIERTA
Para facilitar las numerosas
tareas de servicio y
mantenimiento se puede
bloquear la cubierta en la
posición más elevada. Para
ello se gira la palanca hacia
el lado izquierdo. Si se alza
la cubierta quedará bloqueada. Para soltarla se ha
de girar la palanca hacia la derecha. El panel de la
tumbona puede (una vez afl ojados los tornillos de
derecha e izquierda) colgarse en la cubierta.

PANEL DE LA TUMBONA Y DEL CANAL
La limpieza del panel de la tumbona y del canal se
describe en las tablas siguientes. En la electrónica
que se encuentra bajo la umbona no ha de penetrar
humedad. Por ello, para la limpieza de la tumbona
del panel de la tumbona y de su vano utilice un
paño de microfi bras, ligeramente humedecido. Con
él también se limpiará el bronceador de hombros.
Recomendamos utilizar megaClean como producto
de limpieza (pulverice el paño con él).

FUNCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
Los bronceadores faciales se encuentran equipados
con una función de seguridad adicional. Detrás de
cada placa del fi ltro se encuentra un interruptor de
protección de la placa encargado de desconectar la
lámpara UVA cuando falta la placa del fi ltro o ésta
está rota.

INTERVALOS DE LIMPIEZA
Para conservar el efecto bronceador, recomendamos
la limpieza de los tubos y los emisores UV con agua
caliente y un paño de cuero a aprox. 200 horas de
servicio. No utilice productos de limpieza agresivos o
que contengan alcohol.
INTERVALOS DE SUSTITUCIÓN
Sustituya los tubos, bronceadores faciales, de
hombros y estárter por otros del mismo tipo. Al
montar los tubos compruebe que el rótulo queda
visible. En esta posición de montaje el refl ector del
tubo se encuentra en la parte trasera. Realice un reset
después de cada cambio de tubos en los aparatos
con técnica CPI obligatoriamente. En el caso de
los aparatos inductivos se sustituirán los estárters
junto a los tubos. Después de cada sustitución se
pondrá el contador de horas de servicio de los tubos
a cero.
Tubos P2
Los intervalos de limpieza y mantenimiento de los
tubos P2 son idénticos a los de los tubos normales.

Los emisores se tienen que sustituir cada 600 horas
de servicio. Antes de realizar la sustitución deje
que se enfríe el aparato. El desmontaje y montaje
del emisor sólo lo llevará a cabo personal técnico
formado. Durante el desmontaje y el montaje los
paneles de la tumbona han de estar abatidos.
Importante: No utilice el bronceador de hombros sin
la unidad del quemador.

La suciedad y el asiento incorrecto durante el
funciona- miento pueden causar desperfectos en
los quemadoresy en las monturas. Al montar el
quemador las superfi cies de contacto de la montura
y del quemador tienen que estar absolutamente
limpias. Monte el quemador en línea recta en la
montura. Una vez montado el pequeño vástago de
vidrio del centro del quemador ha de indicar hacia
el refl ector.

unit’s base part, in the canopy and in the side part,
there are three LED chains. The exterior decorative
lighting also consists of LEDs.

CLEANING CYCLE
The cooling air is sucked in via two dust fi lters.
Depending on the location, clean the fi lter pads
after approx. 100 hour of operation, or replace
them, if necessary. Only use original fi lter pads for
replacement in order to ensure a troublefree operation.
Take the opportunity to check if the heat exchangers
inside the air-conditioning unit are soiled. Dirty heat
exchangers substantially reduce the performance
of the air-conditioning unit. Vacuum-clean them if
necessary.

carry out the maintenance of the ropes after each
tube replacement (see table below, item 1).
TENSIONING THE SPRINGS
As soon as the canopy of the tanning system does
not remain safely in its upper position any more, the
two springs must be tensioned. To do so, a ratchet
spanner with hexagon socket (10 mm width across fl ats)
is required.

Cooling and exhaust air
COOLING PRINCIPLE
The following pictures illustrate the cooling of the
tanning unit.
The body fan blows ambient air (systems without air-
conditioning unit) or cooled air mixed with ambient
air (systems equipped with air-conditioning unit)
through ten air nozzles into the tanning space of the
solarium (blue).
The upper fi lter cleans the air for the cooling of the
tubes and sunlamps in the canopy section. The fi lter
installed in the front cleans the cooling air for the
base section (tubes). The fan sucks in the warm air
and discharges it via the exhaust air duct (red).

COOLING THE BED PANE
If an air-conditioning unit (optional feature) has been
installed, both the bed pane and the canopy are
cooled.
The ambient air is sucked in through the fi lter, cooled
in the air-conditioner and guided through an air hose
into the space between ducting pane and bed pane.
In the foot area, this air - mixed with booth air - is
blown into the tanning space of the sunbed.

MAINTENANCE OF THE EXHAUST AND AIR-
CONDITIONING UNIT
A clean and troublefree exhaust-air unit prevents the
sunbed from overheating. The maximum exhaust-air
hose length of 6 m must not be exceeded unless there
is an auxiliary fan installed.

Check the heat exchangers of the air-conditioning
unit for dirt accumulation with each tube replacement.
Soiled heat exchangers reduce the performance
of the air-conditioner. Open the front cover and
vacuum-clean the heat exchangers, if necessary.
Check the air hose each time you change tubes. If it
is defective, replace it immediately.
Condensate pump
The condensate pump is controlled by the processor
in such a way that it is switched on every 5 minutes
for 20 seconds during a tanning session. After the
session, the pump continues operating.
MAINTENANCE
Always check the proper functioning of the
condensate pump when you replace tubes. To do
so, start the tanning program. Open the front cover
and slowly pour water into the condensate tray. The
water must be pumped off. The unit must remain
connected to the power supply after the tanning
session in order to enable the run-on of the pump.
The condensate hose must be guided into the tank
without any kinks and up to a level that does not
exceed the installation level by more than 25 cm.

Regular and scrupulous maintenance of the unit
helps preserve both reliability and a stable value of
the sunbed over a long period of time.

The assembly underneath the bed pane (head area)
comprises the following components:
• megaVoice, the acoustic user guide,
• mp3 sound box for the “Music” option, and
• I2C audio switch
The audio switch is used for I2C bus adaptation,
for connecting an external audio signal with volume
control and the connections to the MP3 players.
The memory card for the mp3 sound box can be
exchanged after the bed pane has been opened (see
fi gure on next page).

Recording to an SD card
Please refer to the chapter “Technical data” for
information on supported card sizes as well as fi le-
system and MP3 formats.
Using the SD Writer software (download from http://
www.kbl-support.de/software/software.html), you
can add or delete audio fi les to the SD card for music
at your convenience. These tracks are played after
the corresponding source has been selected. The
number of fi les is limited by the storage capacity of
the SD card.
Insert the card into the computer. 1.
Activate SD Writer and copy fi les onto the card. 2.
Insert the card into the MP3 player.3.
Restart the device. To do so, pull out the main plug 4.
and plug it in again. In this way, you make sure
that the MP3 player will identify the SD card.

The SD card must only be formatted using
FAT16!
Refi lling Aroma and aquaCool
The tin containing the Aroma gel and the water
canister are located in the base section between
the air-conditioning unit (left-hand side) and the
electronics unit (right-hand side).
