Congratulations on the purchase of your new device.

You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of

this product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal.

Intended use

This consumer electronics device is used to play back audio ﬁles which can be

transferred via Bluetooth

or 3.5-mm (0.14") jack cable. You can use the

speaker as a hands-free kit to take calls using the integrated microphone if there

is an existing Bluetooth

connection. The device is not intended for any other

purpose, nor for use beyond the scope described.

The device is not intended for use in commercial or industrial environments. The

manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe

these instructions, improper use or repairs, unauthorized modiﬁcations, or the use

of unapproved replacement parts. The risk shall be borne solely by the user.

This section contains important safety instructions for using the device. This device

complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may result in personal

Basic safety instructions

To ensure safe operation of the device, follow the safety guidelines set out below:

■ Check the device for visible external damage before use. Do not operate a

device that has been damaged or dropped.

Risk of suﬀocation!

Do not allow children to play with the packaging material! Keep all packaging

materials away from children.

This product contains small parts that could be swallowed (removable

rubber feet). Keep it out of the hands of children.

■ This device may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons

with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and

knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how

to use the device safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not

play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be carried out by

children unless they are supervised.

■ If the charger cable or connections are damaged, have them replaced by an

authorized specialist or the customer service department.

■ Protect the charger cable from hot surfaces and sharp edges.

■ Ensure that the charger cable is not stretched too much or kinked.

■ Always place the device on a stable and level surface. It can be damaged if

dropped.

■ Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high temperatures. Otherwise,

it may overheat and be irreparably damaged.

■ The device is not designed for use in rooms with high temperatures or humidity

(e.g. bathrooms) or where there is excessive dust.

Do not operate the device close to open ﬂames (e.g.

candles) and do not place burning candles on or next to the device. This will

help prevent ﬁres.

■ The device may heat up while it is charging. Place the speaker in a well-venti-

lated location during the charging process and do not cover it.

■ Protect the device from penetration by moisture and liquids. Never submerge

the device in water or place objects ﬁlled with liquids (e.g. vases) next to the

device.

■ Turn the device oﬀ immediately and disconnect any connected cables from

the device if you hear any unusual noises, smell fumes, or notice any smoke.

Have the device checked by a qualiﬁed specialist before using it again.

■ All repairs must be carried out by authorized service centers or by the

customer service department. Improper repairs may put the user at risk. It will

also invalidate any warranty claims. This device shall not be opened by the user.

■ The device has an integrated lithium-ion battery. Mishandling the lithium-ion

batteries can cause ﬁres, explosions, leakage of dangerous chemicals, or

other hazards! Do not throw the device into an open ﬁre.

■ Do not make any unauthorized modiﬁcations or alterations to the device.

This device may not be opened by the user.

■ Comply with all restrictions or prohibitions on use for battery-powered devices in

locations with speciﬁc hazard risks, e.g. gas stations, airplanes, hospitals, etc.

Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage. If the deliv-

ery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging

or during transport, contact the service hotline (see Warranty section).

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the device from damage during transport. The packaging

materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of

disposal and are therefore recyclable.

Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials

and reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of

packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with

applicable local regulations.

If possible, keep the original device packaging for the entire duration of the

warranty period so that the device can be packaged properly for return

shipment in the event of a warranty claim.

Charging the speaker

► Charge the speakers only in dry interior spaces.

Before using the speakers, the integrated batteries must be completely charged.

♦ Make sure that the speakers are turned oﬀ. If a device is turned on, the

operating/charging LED

lights up. Press the button for

approx. 2 seconds to turn oﬀ a device.

♦ Connect the USB plugs on the charger cables

to a PC or to a USB

power supply.

♦ Connect the micro-USB plugs on the charger cables

to the micro-USB

charging sockets (POWER INPUT)

on the speakers.

The operating/charging LED lights up orange during recharging.

When the battery is fully charged, the charging LED turns oﬀ.

Charging takes about 3 hours at a charging current of 500 mA. When the

battery is fully charged, you can play back music for about 4 hours at a me-

dium volume. The playback time may vary depending on usage (volume).

When the battery is empty, you will hear two beeps at intervals of just a few

seconds, and the operating/charging LED

will ﬂash orange twice every 15

seconds. The device then turns oﬀ automatically.

Handling and use

This section provides important information on handling and using the device.

Switching the speakers on/oﬀ

♦ Press and hold the button for about 2 seconds to turn a speaker

on and activate the Bluetooth

function. You will hear a beep and the

operating/charging LED

will ﬂash orange und blue.

♦ Press and hold the

button for about 2 seconds to turn one

speaker oﬀ and deactivate the Bluetooth

function. You will hear a

beep. The operating/charging LED

will turn oﬀ.

If the two speakers are coupled with each other via Bluetooth

, then both

speakers will turn oﬀ as soon as you turn oﬀ one speaker.

Operating the speakers in mono mode

Upon delivery, the default preset of the speakers is in mono mode. This means

you can pair each speaker with a playback device. Before you can use the

speakers, you must pair them with a compatible Bluetooth

device.

♦ Make sure that the speakers are turned oﬀ and the Bluetooth

device is

turned on.

♦ Set the Bluetooth

device so that it scans for other Bluetooth

devices.

instructions for your Bluetooth

device.

♦ Press and hold the

button for about 2 seconds to turn a speaker

on and activate the Bluetooth

function. You will hear a beep and the

operating/charging LED

will ﬂash orange und blue.

Make sure that the speakers are no more than 32 ft from the Bluetooth

device and each other. Make sure that there are no barriers or electronic

devices placed between them.

♦ Select SKBL 56 A1 from the list of found devices on your Bluetooth

device to pair the two devices. You will hear a short beep when the connec-

tion has been established successfully. The operating/charging LED

will

ﬂash twice in 3 second intervals.

♦ If you want to operate the second speaker in mono mode with a diﬀerent

Bluetooth

playback device, carry out the process described above with

the second speaker. Make sure you do not turn on the second speaker until

you have paired the ﬁrst speaker with a Bluetooth

playback device.

You can now use the speaker wirelessly to listen to your favourite tunes.

The next time you turn on the speakers, they will connect automatically to the

most recently connected Bluetooth

device. If your Bluetooth

device

does not automatically reconnect, you will have to re-establish the connection

manually. A detailed description of how to do this can be found in the oper-

ating instructions for your Bluetooth

device.

If you want to connect the speaker to another Bluetooth

device, you must

ﬁrst unpair the current Bluetooth

device. To do this, hold down the

button and the button (

)

of the aﬀected speaker for about

2 seconds until you hear a beep. Alternatively, you can terminate the connec-

tion on your Bluetooth

device. In this case, you will also hear a beep.

Operating the speakers in stereo mode

You can also operate both speakers at the same time from the same Bluetooth

device. In this case, each speaker will play back one audio channel.

♦ Make sure that the speakers are turned oﬀ and the Bluetooth

device is

turned on.

♦ Set the Bluetooth

device so that it scans for other Bluetooth

devices.

A detailed description of how to do this can be found in the operating

instructions for your Bluetooth

device.

♦ Press and hold the

button for about 2 seconds to turn a speaker

on and activate the Bluetooth

function. You will hear a beep and the

operating/charging LED

will ﬂash orange und blue. If the speaker con-

nects automatically to an already paired Bluetooth

playback device,

then terminate this connection. To do this, hold down the

button

and the

button ( )of the aﬀected speaker for about 2 seconds

until you hear a beep.

♦ Repeat the process with the second speaker. Wait a moment. If the speakers

do not automatically pair with each other, place one of the speakers manu-

ally into pairing mode. To do this, hold down the

button and the

button ( ) of the aﬀected speaker for about 2 seconds until

you hear a higher-pitched beep. Wait a moment. As soon as the two speak-

ers automatically pair with each other, the operating/charging LEDs

both speakers will light up blue. You will hear a beep.

♦ Select SKBL 56 A1 from the list of found devices on your Bluetooth

device to pair it to a speaker. You will hear a short beep when the connec-

tion has been established successfully. The operating/charging LED

the connected speaker will also permanently light up orange. This speaker

will output the left stereo channel.

The next time you turn on the speakers, they will connect automatically to each

other. To unpair the speakers, proceed as follows.

If you want to connect the speaker to another Bluetooth

device, you must

ﬁrst unpair the current Bluetooth

device. To do this, hold down the

button and the button ( ) of the aﬀected speaker for

about 2 seconds until you hear a beep. Alternatively, you can terminate the

connection on your Bluetooth

device. In this case, you will also hear

a beep.

Function of the buttons for music playback

Button Function

► Press brieﬂy to play/pause the music.

► Press and hold until you hear a beep to turn the speaker

on or oﬀ. The device must be paired with your

Bluetooth

device again before you can reuse it.

Button Function

► Press brieﬂy to increase the volume. When you reach the

maximum volume, you will hear a brief tone.

► Press and hold for approx. 2 seconds to jump to the next

track.

► Press brieﬂy to decrease the volume. When you reach the

minimum volume (mute), you will hear a short beep.

► Press and hold for 2 seconds to jump back to beginning of

the current track. Within 2 seconds, press and hold again

for 2 seconds to jump to the previous track.

► Press and hold both buttons at the same time for about

2 seconds to activate or deactivate the Bluetooth

connection. When the Bluetooth

function is activated,

the two speakers connect automatically (

Telephone functions

■ If you use a smartphone as your Bluetooth

playback device, the audio

playback will be paused when there is an incoming call.

■ Acceptance/termination of the call can be carried out via the smartphone

or the speaker. The sound is played on the device speaker.

■ Speak into the device microphone to make your call.

■ You can switch the audio source at any time via your smartphone. To do so,

please follow the operating manual of your smartphone.

■ After ﬁnishing the call, the playback of the audio ﬁle will be continued auto-

matically.

Functions of the buttons

Depending on the smartphone used, not all functions described will be

available.

You can also listen to music from an audio device connected via a 3.5mm (0.14")

jack cable

. Stereo operation is not possible in AUX IN mode. An existing

Bluetooth connection is terminated.

♦ Make sure that both speakers are turned oﬀ.

♦ Press and hold the

button for about 2 seconds to turn a speaker

on. You will hear a beep and the operating/charging LED

will ﬂash

orange und blue.

♦ Use a 3.5 (0.14") mm jack cable

to connect the audio device to the

3.5 mm (0.14") jack socket (AUX IN)

of the speaker.

♦ Start playback on the audio device and set the volume to a moderate level.

♦ Then set the desired volume using the

button or the button

on the speaker.

♦ Press the

button if you want to mute the speaker.

If you connect a 3.5 mm (0.14") jack cable to one of the speakers during

Bluetooth

operation, the speaker will automatically switch to playback

from the connected device.

Automatic switch-oﬀ

If the 3.5-mm (0.14") jack socket is not in use or their is no playback via

Bluetooth

, the speakers automatically switch oﬀ after about 10 minutes.

The operating/charging LED

will go out and you will hear a beep.

Any existing Bluetooth

connection will be terminated.

♦ Press and hold the

button for about 4 seconds to turn a speaker

back on.

The automatic turn-oﬀ function does not work while the speakers are charging.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot pair the speakers to a compatible Bluetooth

music device,

proceed as follows:

♦ Make sure that the Bluetooth

function is activated on the music device.

When a device is connected via a 3.5-mm (0.14") jack cable, the

Bluetooth

function is deactivated.

♦ Ensure that the speaker is turned on.

♦ If you use several music devices, ensure that any previous connection is

disconnected (see section Function of the buttons for music playback).

There may be a previously paired device within range.

♦ Make sure that the speakers are no more than 32 ft from the Bluetooth

device and each other. Make sure that there are no barriers or electronic

devices placed between them.

Device does not turn on.

♦ The integrated battery is not charged.

Charge the battery (see section Charging the speaker).

No sound.

♦ The volume on the device or the playback device is set to mute.

Increase the volume on the device or on the playback device.

♦ Playback has not been started on the playback device. Start playback on

the playback device.

The two speakers will not connect to each other.

♦ The speakers are not in pairing mode. To change this, press and hold the

button and the button ( )of one of the speakers

for about 2 seconds until you hear a beep. Wait a moment until the speak-

ers have connected to each other.

If you cannot solve the problem with the above-mentioned solutions, please

contact the service hotline (see Warranty section).

Cleaning

► To avoid irreparable damage to the device, ensure that moisture cannot

penetrate the device during cleaning.

► Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based cleaning materials. These can

damage the surfaces of the device.

♦ Clean the housing of the device with a lightly moistened cloth and a mild

detergent only.

Storage when not in use

♦ Store the device in a location which is clean, dry, dust-free and not in direct

sunlight.

♦ To ensure long battery life, charge the battery at regular intervals.

Disposal

Electronic devices may not be thrown away as part of normal household trash.

If you can no longer use your electronic device, dispose of it in accordance with

Warranty

What does this warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

■ Damage, breakage, or inoperability due to defect.

■ Damage not accounted by normal wear and tear or following the safety and

maintenance instructions provided in the user manual.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

■ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts (such as

switches, glass, etc.);

■ Improper use or transport;

■ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;

■ Accidents or acts of nature (eg., lightening, ﬁre, water, etc.).

■ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing screws etc.)

What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?

The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase. At our discretion, product

will either be refunded or replaced.

What will we not do?

Veriﬁque que el paquete esté completo y no muestre signos visibles de daño.

Eliminación del empaque

El empaque protege al dispositivo contra daños durante el transporte. Los mate-

Carga de la bocina

► Cargue las bocinas solamente en espacios interiores secos.

Antes de usar las bocinas, las baterías integradas deben estar cargadas comple-

tamente.

carga de 500mA. Cuando la batería está completamente cargada, puede

reproducir música durante aproximadamente 4 horas a medio volumen.

Si la batería se agota, escuchará dos pitidos a intervalos de unos cuantos

Manejo y uso

■ Hable al micrófono del dispositivo

Solución de problemas

Si no puede asociar las bocinas con un dispositivo de música Bluetooth

compatible, siga estas instrucciones:

♦ Asegúrese de que la función Bluetooth

esté activada en el dispositivo

de música. Si un dispositivo está conectado mediante un cable de conector

de 3.5 mm (0.14") , la función Bluetooth

está desactivada.

♦ Asegúrese de que la bocina esté encendida.

♦ Si usa varios dispositivos de música, asegúrese de que cualquier conexión

previa esté desconectada (vea la sección Función de los botones para

El dispositivo no enciende.

♦ La batería integrada no está cargada.

No hay sonido.

♦ El volumen del dispositivo o del dispositivo de reproducción está ajustado

en silencio.

Suba el volumen del dispositivo o del dispositivo de reproducción.

♦ No se ha iniciado la reproducción en el dispositivo de reproducción.

Limpieza

► Para evitar daño irreparable al dispositivo, asegúrese de que no pueda

penetrar humedad en el dispositivo durante la limpieza.

Almacenamiento cuando no se usa

Eliminación
