OTOCLEAR® TIP - USER INSTRUCTIONS
Intended use: The intended use of the OtoClear is to flush cerumen
and/or foreign bodies from a patient’s ear canal without causing
injury.
Indications for use: The OtoClear is indicated for use on patients 6
months or older with impacted cerumen and/or foreign bodies
occluding the ear canal where no infection and/or eardrum perfora-
tion is known or suspected.
How to Use
The BIONIX® OtoClear Tip was designed to make ear irrigation safer,
quicker and more effective using The Ear Lavage System or the
Spray Wash Bottle. OtoClear Tips are also compatible with a
Tabletop Waterpik or Luer lock Syringe. These instructions are writ-
ten in order to help you, and therefore, your patients, get the greatest
benefit possible from the irrigation procedure.
Before You Begin:
Examine the ear canal and tympanic membrane with an otoscope
noting the type and location of any cerumen. Hard or impacted wax
may require a cerumenolytic agent.
CAUTION: DO NOT perform irrigation if the tympanic mem-
brane is perforated or if tympanostomy tubes are present.
Discontinue irrigation immediately if bleeding, irritation or other
trauma to the ear canal or tympanic membrane occurs.
If you are using the Spray Wash Bottle, first connect the inner tube
to the bottle.
1. Grasp the OtoClear tip and twist onto the luer lock fitting of the
adapter wand until it stops.
2. Fill the water reservoir of the delivery device with warm water
(approximate body temperature). DO NOT use cold or hot water
as it may cause dizziness in some patients.
3. Prime the unit by discharging into a sink.
4. Insert OtoClear tip fully into the ear canal. The flared design of
the OtoClear tip protects against over-insertion. Tip: Fully insert-
ing OtoClear Tip will help eliminate backsplash.
5. Place a basin beneath the outer ear to capture draining effluent.
Note: The OtoClear tip directs the water towards the walls of the
ear canal creating a turbulent lavage that effectively dislodges
the cerumen. The exit portals control backsplash and deliver the
effluent into the basin.
6. Reexamine the ear canal. Repeat the irrigation procedure as
needed. Sometimes a large plug of wax will not exit through the
portal. In these cases, we recommend the use of a Safe Ear
Curette™ to extract any remaining cerumen.
7. Remove any remaining water in the ear canal with an absorbent
sponge. When procedure is complete, remove and dispose of the
single-use OtoClear tip.
WARNINGS:
• Use only warm water (98°F - 104°F / 37°C - 40°C) to reduce the
risk of dizziness or vertigo
• If pain or discharge occurs see your physician
• Cross-contamination risk. Do not reuse the disposable OtoClear
Tips as this may spread contamination from one patient to
another patient.

Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the device
should be reported to the manufacturer and the competent
authority of the Member State in which the user and/or patient is
established.
Clinical Benefits: Indicated in Intended Use.
Contraindications:
• The person has previously had complications following ear
irrigation procedures
• There is a history of a middle ear infection in the last six weeks
• There is discharge from the ear canal or ear pain or tenderness
• The person has or suspects an ear drum perforation
• The person has had ANY form of ear surgery
• The person has cleft palate, repaired or not
• The person has tympanostomy tubes
• There is a foreign body present in the ear canal
• There is a history of inner ear problems (especially vertigo)
Residual Risk: Risk associated with the use of this product has been
reduced as far as possible, but the product cannot completely elimi-
nate potential patient or user harm arising from the following:
• Harm from mechanical hazards
• Harm from misuse, or use error
• Harm from unanticipated origins

OTOCLEAR®-SPITZE - GEBRAUCHSANWEISUNG
Verwendungszweck: Das OtoClear ist zum Spülen von Cerumen
und/oder Fremdkörpern aus dem Gehörgang eines Patienten
vorgesehen, ohne Verletzungen zu verursachen.
Indikationen: Das OtoClear ist indiziert für den Einsatz bei
Patienten ab 6 Monaten mit Cerumenpfropfen und/oder
Fremdkörpern, die den Gehörgang verstopfen, wenn keine Infektion
und/oder Trommelfellperforation bekannt ist oder vermutet wird.
Anwendung
Die BIONIX® OtoClear-Spitze wurde konzipiert, um Ohrspülungen
bei der Verwendung eines Ohrspülungssystems oder einer Wasch-
Sprühflasche sicherer, schneller und effektiver zu machen. Die
OtoClear-Spitzen sind ebenso mit einem Tabletop Waterpik oder
einer Luer-Lock-Spritze kompatibel. Diese Gebrauchsanweisung
wurde verfasst, um Ihnen und somit auch Ihren Patienten zu helfen,
den größtmöglichen Nutzen aus der Spülungsbehandlung zu ziehen.
Bevor Sie beginnen:
Untersuchen Sie den Gehörgang und das Trommelfell mit einem
Otoskop und bestimmen Sie die Art und die Lage des vorhandenen
Cerumens. Bei hartem oder kompaktem Wachs kann ein ohren-
schmalzauflösendes Mittel erforderlich sein.
VORSICHT: Bei perforiertem Trommelfell oder vorhandenen
Paukenröhrchen KEINE Spülung durchführen. Die Spülung sofort
abbrechen, wenn Blutungen, Irritationen oder andere Traumata des
Gehörgangs oder Trommelfells auftreten.
Vor der Verwendung der Wasch-Sprühflasche zunächst den
inneren Tubus an die Flasche anschließen.
1. Die OtoClear-Spitze festhalten und auf den Luer-Lock-Anschluss
des Adapterstabs bis zum Anschlag aufdrehen.
2. Das Wasserreservoir des Verabreichungsgeräts mit warmem
Wasser (ungefähr Körpertemperatur) füllen. KEIN kaltes oder
heißes Wasser verwenden, da dies bei manchen Patienten zu
Schwindel führen kann.
3. Das Gerät durch Ableiten in ein Waschbecken betriebsfertig
machen.
4. Die OtoClear-Spitze vollständig in den Gehörgang einführen. Die
ausgestellte Form der OtoClear-Spitze schützt vor einem zu tiefen
Einführen. Tipp: Das vollständige Einführen der OtoClear-Spitze
hilft dabei, Herausspritzen zu vermeiden.
5. Platzieren Sie eine Schale zum Auffangen des Spülausflusses
unter dem äußeren Ohr. Hinweis: Die OtoClear-Spitze leitet das
Wasser gegen die Wände des Gehörgangs und erzeugt so eine
kräftige Spülung, die das Cerumen effektiv löst. Die
Austrittsöffnungen regulieren das Herausspritzen und leiten den
Ausfluss in die Schale.
6. Gehörgang erneut untersuchen. Den Spülvorgang bei Bedarf
wiederholen. Bisweilen kann ein großer Wachsklumpen die
Öffnung nicht passieren. In diesen Fällen empfehlen wir die
Verwendung einer Safe Ear Curette™ zur Entfernung des
verbleibenden Cerumens.
7. Verbleibendes Wasser mit einem saugfähigen Schwamm aus dem
Gehörgang entfernen. Wenn die Behandlung beendet ist, die
OtoClear-Spitze für den Einmalgebrauch entfernen und entsor-
gen.
WARNHINWEISE:
• Nur warmes Wasser (98°F–104°F / 37°C–40°C) verwenden, um
das Risiko für Benommenheit oder Schwindel zu reduzieren
• Bei Schmerzen oder Ausfluss aus dem Ohr den Arzt aufsuchen
• Gefahr einer Kreuzkontamination. OtoClear Kürettenspitzen für
den Einmalmalgebrauch dürfen nicht wiederverwendet werden,
um eine gegenseitige Kontamination der Patienten zu
verhindern.
Medizinprodukte-Beobachtungs- und Meldesystem: Hinweis für
Benutzer bzw. Patienten in der EU: Sämtliche schwerwiegenden
Vorfälle im Zusammenhang mit dem Medizinprodukt sind dem
Hersteller und der zuständigen Behörde des Mitgliedsstaats zu
melden, in dem der Benutzer bzw. Patient ansässig ist.

Kontraindikationen:
• Bei dem Patienten sind in der Vergangenheit Komplikationen
nach Ohrspülungen aufgetreten
• In den letzten sechs Wochen ist eine Mittelohrentzündung
aufgetreten
• Ausfluss aus dem Gehörgang oder Ohrenschmerzen sind auf-
getreten
• Der Patient hat oder vermutet eine Trommelfellperforation
• Der Patient hatte eine BELIEBIGEN operativen Eingriff am Ohr
• Der Patient hat eine Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumen-Spalte, behandelt
oder unbehandelt
• Der Patient hat Paukenröhrchen
• Es befindet sich ein Fremdkörper im Gehörgang
• Es traten in der Vergangenheit Probleme mit dem Innenohr
(insbesondere Schwindel) auf
Restrisiken: Die Risiken in Verbindung mit der Verwendung dieses
Produkts wurden so weit wie möglich reduziert, dennoch können
potenzielle Gesundheitsgefahren für Patienten oder Anwender

BOQUILLA OTOCLEAR® - INSTRUCCIONES DEUSO
Uso previsto: el uso previsto de la boquilla OtoClear es eliminar
mediante un lavado el cerumen o los cuerpos extraños del canal
auditivo del paciente sin causar lesiones.
Indicaciones de uso: la boquilla OtoClear está indicada para el uso
en pacientes de 6 meses o más con cerumen impactado o cuerpos
extraños que ocluyan el canal auditivo cuando no se conozca o se
sospeche una infección o una perforación del tímpano.
Cómo se utiliza
La Boquilla OtoClear de BIONIX® ha sido diseñada para irrigar el
oído de forma más segura, rápida y más efectiva utilizando el
Sistema de lavado de oído o la Botella pulverizadora de lavado. Las
Boquillas OtoClear también son compatibles con los sistemas
Waterpik de sobremesa ocon la jeringa Luer Lock. Estás instruc-
ciones se han redactado para ayudarle, y por lo tanto, para que sus
pacientes obtengan el mayor beneficio posible del procedimiento de
irrigación.
Antes de comenzar:
Examine el canal auditivo y la membrana timpánica con un
otoscopio a fin de detectar el tipo y la ubicación del cerumen. La cera
dura o impactada puede requerir un agente cerumenolítico.
PRECAUCIÓN: NO irrigue la membrana timpánica si está per-
forada o si existen sondas de timpanostomía. Cese la irrigación en
caso de que se produzca hemorragia, irritación o cualquier otro trau-
matismo en el canal auditivo o en la membrana timpánica.
Si está utilizando la Botella pulverizadora de lavado, primero conecte
el tubo interior a la botella.
1. Sujete la boquilla OtoClear y hágala girar en el interior del acceso-
rio Luer Lock de la varilla del adaptador hasta que se detenga.
2. Llene el depósito de agua del dispositivo de suministro con agua
tibia (aproximadamente a temperatura corporal). NO utilice agua
fría ni caliente, ya que podría producir mareos a algunos pacien-
tes.
3. Prepare la unidad realizando una descarga en un sumidero.
4. Introduzca la Boquilla OtoClear completamente en el canal auditi-
vo. El diseño acampanado de la Boquilla OtoClear evita que se
introduzca demasiado. Consejo: Introducir completamente la
Boquilla OtoClear evitará que se produzcan salpicaduras.
5. Coloque un recipiente debajo del oído externo para recoger el
líquido que fluya hacia el exterior. Nota: La Boquilla OtoClear
dirige el agua hacia las paredes del canal auditivo originando un
lavado por turbulencia que expulsa el cerumen de forma efectiva.
Los conductos de salida controlan las salpicaduras y canalizan el
líquido expulsado hacia el recipiente.
6. Vuelva a examinar el canal auditivo. Repita el procedimiento de
irrigación tantas veces como sea necesario. En ocasiones, un
tapón de cera de gran tamaño no podrá salir a través de los con-
ductos de salida. En estos casos, se recomienda utilizar una Safe
Ear Curette™ para extraer cualquier resto de cerumen.
7. Retire cualquier resto de agua del canal auditivo con una esponja
absorbente.
Una vez finalizado el procedimiento, retire y deseche la Boquilla
OtoClear de un solo uso.
ADVERTENCIA:
• Utilice solo agua tibia (98 °F - 104 °F/37 °C - 40 °C) para reducir el
riesgo de mareos o vértigo
• Si se presenta dolor o secreción, consulte a su médico
• Riesgo de contaminación cruzada. No reutilice las puntas de la
cureta de las boquillas OtoClear, ya que esto puede propagar la
contaminación de un paciente a otro.

Contraindicaciones:

EMBOUT OTOCLEAR® - MODE D’EMPLOI
Utilisation prévue : l’utilisation prévue de l’OtoClear est de est de
nettoyer le cérumen et/ou les corps étrangers du conduit auditif du
patient sans causer de blessures.
Indications d’utilisation : l’OtoClear est indiqué pour être utilisé sur
les patients âgés de 6 mois ou plus présentant du cérumen et/ou des
corps étrangers obstruant le conduit auditif, en l’absence d’infection
et/ou de perforation du tympan connue ou suspectée.
Mode d’emploi
L’embout BIONIX® OtoClear a été conçu pour sécuriser, accélérer et
optimiser l’irrigation de l’oreille à l’aide du système de lavage d’oreille
ou du pulvérisateur d’eau. Les embouts OtoClear sont également
compatibles avec une seringue à raccord Luer Lock ou Tabletop
Waterpik. Ces instructions ont été rédigées pour vous aider, vous et
vos patients, à tirer le plus d’avantages possibles de la procédure d’ir-
rigation.
Avant de commencer:
Examinez le conduit auditif et la membrane tympanique avec un
otoscope afin d’observer le type de cérumen et son emplacement. La
cire tenace ou les bouchons de cire peuvent nécessiter l’utilisation
d’un agent céruménolytique.
MISE EN GARDE: Ne procédez PAS à l’irrigation si la mem-
brane tympanique est percée ou si des tubes de paracentèse sont
présents. Arrêtez l’irrigation immédiatement si un saignement, une
irritation ou d’autres dommages affectent le conduit auditif ou la
membrane tympanique.
En cas d’utilisation du pulvérisateur d’eau, commencez par connecter
la tubulure interne au flacon.
1. Saisissez l’embout OtoClear et tournez-le sur le raccord Luer Lock
de la tige de l’adaptateur jusqu’à la butée.
2. Remplissez le réservoir d’eau de l’appareil de distribution d’eau
tiède (proche de la température du corps). N’utilisez PAS d’eau
froide ou chaude, car ceci peut causer des vertiges chez certains
patients.
3. Amorcez l’appareil en évacuant le contenu dans un évier.
4. Insérez complètement l’embout OtoClear à l’intérieur du conduit
auditif. La conception évasée de l’embout OtoClear évite une
insertion trop profonde. Conseil: l’insertion intégrale de l’embout
OtoClear contribue à éviter les reflux.
5. Placez une cuvette sous l’oreille du patient pour récupérer les
écoulements. Remarque: l’embout OtoClear dirige l’eau vers les
parois du conduit auditif, créant un lavage tourbillonnaire qui
déloge efficacement le cérumen. Les orifices de sortie empêchent
le reflux et acheminent l’effluent vers la cuvette.
6. Examinez de nouveau le conduit auditif. Répétez la procédure
d’irrigation aussi souvent que nécessaire. Parfois, les bouchons de
cire sont trop gros pour sortir de l’orifice. Dans ce cas, l’utilisation
d’une curette Safe Ear Curette™ est recommandée pour extraire
les éventuels résidus de cérumen.
7. Éliminez toute eau résiduelle dans le conduit auditif avec une
éponge absorbante. Lorsque l’intervention est terminée, retirez et
jetez l’embout à usage unique OtoClear.
AVERTISSEMENTS :
• Utilisez uniquement de l’eau chaude (98 °F à 104 °F / 37 °C à 40 °C)
pour réduire le risque d’étourdissement ou de vertige.
• En cas de douleur ou d’écoulement, consultez votre médecin.
• Risque de contamination croisée. Ne pas réutiliser les embouts
decurette jetables OtoClear car cela pourrait entraîner une
contamination d’un patient à un autre.

Contre-indications :
• Le sujet a déjà eu des complications suite à des procédures
d’irrigation de l’oreille
• Le sujet a des antécédents d’infection de l’oreille moyenne au
cours des six dernières semaines
• Présence d’un écoulement dans le conduit auditif, d’une douleur
ou d’une sensibilité de l’oreille
• Le sujet présente ou est soupçonné de présenter une perforation
du tympan
• Le sujet a subi TOUTE forme de chirurgie de l’oreille
• Le sujet a une fissure palatine, réparée ou non
• Le sujet a des tubes de tympanostomie
• Présence d’un corps étranger dans le conduit auditif
• Le sujet a des antécédents de problèmes d’oreille interne
(en particulier de vertiges)
Risque résiduel : Le risque associé à l’utilisation de ce produit a été
réduit autant que possible, mais le produit ne peut pas éliminer
complètement les dommages potentiels pour le patient ou
l’utilisateur résultant des éléments suivants :

OTOCLEAR® SPETS – ANVÄNDARINSTRUKTIONER
Avsedd användning: OtoClear är avsett för att skölja öronvax och/
eller främmande föremål från en patients hörselgång utan att orsa-
ka skada.
Indikationer för användning: OtoClear är indikerat för användning
för patienter över 6 månaders ålder, med impakterat öronvax och/
eller främmande föremål som blockerar hörselgången, då ingen
infektion och/eller trumhinneperforation är känd eller misstänkt.
Användning
BIONIX® OtoClear-spets har utformats för att göra öronspolning
säkrare, snabbare och effektivare med hjälp av öronspolningssyste-
met eller spraytvättflaskan. OtoClear-spetsarna är också kompatibla
med en Waterpik bordsskiva eller en spruta med luerlås. Dessa
anvisningar är skrivna för att hjälpa dig och därigenom dina patien-
ter, att uppnå största möjliga nytta av spolningsproceduren.
Innan du sätter igång:
Undersök med hjälp av ett otoskop hörselgången och trumhinnan

Om du använder spraytvättflaskan, anslut först innerröret till flas-
kan.
1. Grip OtoClear-spetsen och vrid på luerlåsfästet på adapterns stav
tills den stannar.
2. Fyll vattenbehållaren på applikatorn med varmt vatten (ungefär

6. Undersök hörselgången på nytt. Upprepa spolningsproceduren
efter behov. Ibland kommer en stor vaxpropp inte ut genom por-
talen. I dessa fall rekommenderar vi användning av en Safe Ear

7. Avlägsna eventuellt kvarvarande vatten i hörselgången med en
absorberande svamp. När proceduren är avslutad, ta bort och

samband med enheten ska rapporteras till tillverkaren och den
behöriga myndigheten i den medlemsstat där användaren och/eller
patienten äretablerad.
Kliniska fördelar: Anges i Avsedd användning.
Kontraindikationer:
• Patienten har tidigare haft komplikationer efter öronsköljning
• Patienten har haft infektion i mellanörat under de senaste sex
veckorna
• Det förekommer utsöndring från hörselgången eller patienten
har ont i örat
• Patienten har eller misstänker trumhinneperforation
• Patienten har genomgått NÅGON form av öronoperation
• Patienten har gomspalt, antingen åtgärdad eller inte
• Patienten har rör för tympanostomi
• Det finns ett främmande föremål i hörselgången
• Patienten har haft problem med innerörat (särskilt svindel)
Kvarstående risk: Risken i samband med användningen av denna
produkt har minskats så mycket som möjligt, men produkten kan
inte helt eliminera potentiella patient- eller användarskador på
grund av följande:
• Skada från mekaniska risker
• Skada från fel användning eller användningsfel
• Skada från oväntade ursprung
