1 S AFETY

1.1 OPERATING SAFETY ______________________________________________________

1. Safety is dependent upon the awareness, concern

and prudence of those who operate or service the

equipment. Never allow minors to operate any equip-

ment.

2. It is your responsibility to read this manual and all

publications associated with this equipment (engine,

accessories and attachments). If the operator can

not read English or Spanish, it is the owner’s

responsibility to explain the material contained in

this manual to them.

3. Learn the proper use of the machine, the location

and purpose of all the controls and gauges before

you operate the equipment. Working with unfamiliar

equipment can lead to accidents.

4. Never allow anyone to operate or service the

machine or its attachments without proper training

and instructions; or while under the influence of

alcohol or drugs.

5. Wear all the necessary protective clothing and

personal safety devices to protect your head, eyes,

ears hands and feet. Operate the machine only in

daylight or in good artificial light.

6. Inspect the area where the equipment will be used.

Pick up all the debris you can find before operating.

Beware of overhead obstructions (low tree limbs,

electrical wires, etc.) and also underground

obstacles (sprinklers, pipes, tree roots, etc.) Enter a

new area cautiously. Stay alert for hidden hazards.

7. Never direct discharge of material toward

bystanders, nor allow anyone near the machine

while in operation. The owner/operator can prevent

and is responsible for injuries inflicted to

themselves, to bystanders and damage to property.

8. Never operate equipment that is not in perfect

working order or is without decals, guards, shields,

discharge deflectors or other protective devices

securely fastened in place.

9. Never disconnect or bypass any switch.

10. Carbon monoxide in the exhaust fumes can be fatal

when inhaled. Never operate the engine without

proper ventilation.

11. Fuel is highly flammable, handle with care.

12. Keep the engine clean. Allow the engine to cool

before storing and always remove the ignition key.

13. Disengage all drives and engage parking brake

before starting the engine (motor). Start the engine

only when sitting in operator’s seat, never while

standing beside the unit.

14. Equipment must comply with the latest federal,

state, and local requirements when driven or

transported on public roads.

15. Never use your hands to search for oil leaks.

Hydraulic fluid under pressure can penetrate the

skin and cause serious injury.

16. Operate the machine up and down the face of the

slopes (vertically), not across the face (horizontally).

17. To prevent tipping or loss of control, do not start or

stop suddenly; reduce speed when making sharp

turns. Use caution when changing direction on

slopes.

18. Always use the seat belt when operating tractors

equipped with a ROPS.

Never use a seat belt when operating tractors

without a ROPS.

19. Keep legs, arms and body inside the seating

compartment while the vehicle is in motion.

This machine is to be operated and maintained as specified in this manual and is intended for the professional

maintenance of specialized turf grasses. It is not intended for use on rough terrain or long grasses.

WARNING

EQUIPMENT OPERATED IMPROPERLY OR BY UNTRAINED PERSONNEL CAN BE DANGEROUS.

Familiarize yourself with the location and proper use of all controls. Inexperienced operator’s should receive

instruction from someone familiar with the equipment before being allowed to operate the machine.

WARNING

The Interlock system on this tractor prevents the tractor from starting unless

the brake pedal is engaged, mower switch is off and traction pedal is in

neutral. The system will stop the engine if the operator leaves the seat

without engaging the parking brake or setting the mower switch off.

NEVER operate tractor unless the Interlock system is working.

WARNING

1. Before leaving the operator’s position for any reason:

a. Return traction pedal to neutral.

b. Disengage all drives.

c. Lower all implements to the ground.

d. Engage parking brake.

e. Stop engine and remove the ignition key.

2. Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts. Wait for all

movement to stop before you clean, adjust or service the machine.

3. Keep the area of operation clear of all bystanders and pets.

4. Never carry passengers, unless a seat is provided for them.

5. Never operate mowing equipment without the discharge deflector

securely fastened in place.

3 CONTROLS

3.2 CONTROLS ______________________________________________________________

A. Tilt Steering

Pull lever up to release steering column. Tilt column

up or down to position desired. Release lever to lock

steering column in place.

B. Tu rn Ass ist

Reduces the turning radius of the machine for

operation in close areas. Use the turn assist pedals

for making tight turns around trees and other objects.

To operate turn assist, press pedal down gradually

until desired turning radius is achieved - left pedal

(B1) for left turns, right pedal (B2) for right turns.

Note: Pressing pedal too hard will cause wheel to

lock up and may tear or mark the turf.

C. Speed Limiter

Limits forward speed while cutting or operating

attachments. To operate at lower travel speed rotate

lever as shown (C

) so it contacts stop screw on floor

board when traction pedal is pressed forward. To

travel at full speed, set lever in position shown (C

speeds.

Release pedal to slow tractor and stop.

Release pedal to slow tractor and stop. Allow tractor

to come to a complete stop before reversing

directions.

E. Alarm

The alarm, along with the warning lights, sounds to

alert the operator to conditions requiring immediate

attention. See Section 3.3.

F. Hydraulic Oil Cap/Dipstick

Fill to green mark on dipstick using clean hydraulic

fluid while machine is cool. Do not overfill.

G. Fuel Cap

Fill fuel tank with No. 2 diesel fuel, minimum cetane

rating of 45. Section 4.12 See engine manual for

additional fuel specifications.

H. Parking Brake

To engage parking brake pull up on lever. Always

engage parking brake before starting and after

stopping machine.

I. Seat Adjustments

The standard operator’s seat has five adjustment

settings.

J. Side Deck Transport Locks

Locks decks in upright position for transporting

tractor. Locks must be manually released before

lowering decks. Section 4.6

K. Alarm System Test Switch

Used to test the alarm system. To test, turn ignition

key to RUN and press switch. An audible alarm will

sound and warning lights will come on.

CAUTION

Never adjust steering while tractor is moving. Stop

unit and set parking brake before adjusting.

L. 2WD / 4 WD Switch - Forward

Sets tractor into two or four wheel drive. Tractor must

be in 4WD to operate cutting units.

Tractor returns to 2 WD when backing up unless

4WD reverse switch (Z) is pressed.

M. Engine Throttle

Controls engine speed. Run machine at full throttle

when transporting machine.

Note: Do not tamper with throttle stop lock.

N. 2WD / 4WD Switch - Reverse

Provides momentary 4WD in reverse

Press and hold switch down to shift into 4WD.

Machine returns to 2 WD when switch is released.

O. Deck Levers

Raises and lowers decks. Decks can be raised or

lowered separately or together. When raising decks

hold lever back until deck is completely up. Levers

return to neutral when released.

P. Down Pressure Control

Transfers weight between decks and tractor.

Turn control clockwise to reduce down

pressure on decks and transfer weight to

tractor. Reducing down pressure improves

traction but may cause decks to float causing an

uneven cut.

To increase down pressure on decks turn

control counterclockwise. This reduces

traction but improves deck contact with

ground.

Q. Light Switch (optional)

Controls operation of road and work lights.

R. Warning Lights

Alerts the operator to conditions requiring immediate

action. See Section 3.3.

S. Temperature Gauge

Indicates engine coolant temperature. Normal

operating temperature should be between 160° -

230°F (71°-110°C). If temperature rises above 230°

(110°F), alarm will sound. See Section 3.3.

T. Fuel Gauge

Indicates current fuel level. Check fuel gauge daily

before starting machine.

U. Hour Meter

Records engine operating hours. Use hour meter to

schedule periodic maintenance.

V. Ignition Switch

The ignition switch has three positions. OFF-RUN

(ON)-START. In the run position the electrical

system is active. Turn to START to crank engine.

Always turn switch to OFF and remove key when

leaving machine.

W. Hydraulic Oil Level Light

Alerts the operator of a low fluid level in

hydraulic tank. See Section 3.3.

Note: The warning light will remain on as long

as a low oil level is detected. The light will come on

momentarily when first starting engine.

X. Cruise Control (Option)

When switched ON the cruise control will lock the

traction pedal in its current position. Cruise will

unlock when switched OFF, or if parking brake is

applied.

Y. Power Take-off Switch

Provides power to cutting units. Tractor must be set

in 4WD (L) and decks lowered (O) for cutting units to

engage.

3.3 OPERATOR ALERTS_______________________________________________________

The electrical system monitors vital machine systems. It

uses an audible alarm and warning lights to alert the

operator of conditions requiring immediate action. When

an alert occurs follow the general guidelines listed in the

chart below, and any specific actions outlined by the

grounds superintendent or service manager.

To test alarm system:

Turn ignition switch to RUN. Press and hold down alarm

test switch. All warning lights should come on and alarm

should sound.

This system monitors:

1. Hydraulic fluid level

2. Engine oil pressure

3. Engine coolant temperature

4. Hydraulic oil filter

5. Battery voltage

6. Indicates glow plug is energized.

Alert Action

1. Hydraulic fluid level - Alarm

sounds and hydraulic fluid warning

light comes on. Hydraulic fluid is

below recommended level.

Stop tractor immediately, lower decks and shut off engine! Visually

inspect tractor for obvious signs of leaks around connections, hoses and

hydraulic components. Return tractor to service area for maintenance.

CAUTION: Hydraulic fluid is under pressure. Turn engine off and allow

fluid to cool before checking fluid level or adding oil to hydraulic tank.

2. Engine Oil Pressure - oil pressure

light comes on. Oil pressure low.

Stop tractor immediately, lower decks and shut off engine! Inspect oil

level in engine. If oil light remains on with oil at proper level, shut off engine

and tow or trailer tractor back to a service area. NEVER operate engine with

oil light on, severe damage to the engine can occur.

3. Engine Coolant Temperature

Alarm sounds. Engine coolant

temperature high.

Stop tractor immediately, lower decks and shut off engine! Remove

debris such as leaves and grass clippings that may be restricting air flow

through rear screen on hood and area between radiator and oil cooler. If

engine continues to run hot, return tractor to a service area.

CAUTION: Engine coolant is under pressure. Turn engine off and allow

fluid to cool before checking fluid level or adding coolant to radiator.

4. Hydraulic oil filter - Oil filter

warning light remains on.

Return tractor to a service area as soon as possible. Change hydraulic oil

filters.

5. Battery Voltage - Warning light

comes on.

Return tractor to a service area as soon as possible. Inspect battery and

battery charging system.

OPERATION 4

4 OPERATION

4.1 DAILY INSPECTION ________________________________________________________

1. Perform a visual inspection of the entire unit, look for

signs of wear, loose hardware, and missing or dam-

aged components. Check for fuel or oil leaks to

ensure connections are tight and hoses and tubes

are in good condition.

2. Check the fuel supply, radiator coolant level,

crankcase oil and air cleaner indicator. All fluids

must be at the full level mark with engine cold.

3. Make sure all mowers are adjusted to the same

cutting height.

4. Visually check tires for proper inflation.

5. Test the Interlock system.

4.2 Interlock System __________________________________________________________

1. The Interlock System prevents the engine from start-

ing unless the parking brake is engaged, the traction

pedal is in neutral and the power take-offswitch is

OFF. The system also stops the engine if the opera-

tor leaves the seat with the power take-off switch ON,

traction pedal out of NEUTRAL, or parking brake

DISENGAGED.

2. Perform each of the following tests to insure the

Interlock system is functioning properly. Stop the

test and have the system inspected and repaired if

any of the tests fail as listed below:

● the engine does not start in test 1;

● the engine does start during tests 2,3 or 4;

● the engine continues to run during tests 5 or 6.

3. Refer to the chart below for each test and follow the

check (✔) marks across the chart. Shut engine off

between each test.

Test 1: Represents normal starting procedure. The

operator is seated, parking brake is engaged, the

operator’s feet are off the pedals, and the power

take-off switch is OFF. The engine should start.

Test 2: The engine must not start if the power take-

off switch is ON.

Test 3: The engine must not start if the parking brake

is DISENGAGED.

Test 4: The engine must not start if the traction pedal

is pressed.

Test 5: Start the engine in the normal manner then

turn power take-off switch ON and lift your weight off

the seat. ★

Test 6: Start the engine in the normal manner then

disengage parking brake and lift your weight off the

seat. ★

★ Lift your weight off seat. The engine will shut down.

CAUTION

The daily inspection should be performed only when

the engine is off and all fluids are cold. Lower mowers

to the ground, engage the parking brake, Stop engine

and remove ignition key.

WARNING

Never operate equipment with the Interlock

System disconnected or malfunctioning. Do not

disconnect or bypass any switch.

4 OPERATION

4.3 OPERATING PROCEDURES_________________________________________________

1. Under no circumstances should the engine be

started without the operator seated on the tractor.

2. Do not operate tractor or decks with loose,

damaged or missing components. Whenever

possible mow when grass is dry.

3. First mow in a test area to become thoroughly

familiar with the operation of the tractor and control

levers.

4. Study the area to determine the best and safest

operating procedure. Consider the height of the

grass, type of terrain, and condition of the surface.

Each condition will require certain adjustments or

precautions. Only use accessories and attachments

approved by Textron Turf Care And Specialty

Products

5. Never direct discharge of material toward

bystanders, nor allow anyone near the machine

while in operation. The owner/operator is

responsible for injuries inflicted to bystanders and/or

damage to their property.

6. Use discretion when mowing near gravel areas

(roadway, parking areas, cart paths, etc.). Stones

discharged from the implement may cause serious

injuries to bystanders and/or damage the

equipment.

7. Always turn PTO off to stop blades when not

mowing.

8. Disengage the drive motors and raise the decks

when crossing paths or roadways. Look out for

traffic.

9. Stop and inspect the equipment for damage

immediately after striking an obstruction or if the

machine begins to vibrate abnormally. Have the

equipment repaired before resuming operation.

10. Slow down and use extra care on hillsides. Read

Section 4.7. Use caution when operating near drop

offs.

11. Look behind and down before backing up to be sure

the path is clear. Use care when approaching blind

corners, shrubs, tress or other objects that may

obscure vision.

12. Never use your hands to clean cutting units. Use a

brush to remove grass clippings from blades.

Blades are extremely sharp and can cause serious

injuries

WARNING

A Rollover Protection Structure (ROPS) for this tractor is available as an optional accessory. Evaluate the terrain

and working conditions to determine of a ROPS is required. Seat belts must be worn whenever a ROPS is installed

on the tractor. Always keep seat belt snugly adjusted. DO NOT use seat belts on a tractor without a ROPS.

If a ROPS is installed and the tractor is overturning, hold onto the steering wheel. Do not attempt to jump out or

leave the seat.

CAUTION

To prevent injury, always wear safety glasses, leather work shoes or boots, a hard hat, and ear protection.

CAUTION

Before mowing, pick up all debris such as rocks, toys

and wire which can be thrown by the machine. Enter a

new area cautiously. Always operate at speeds that

allow you to have complete control of the mower.

WARNING

Before you clean, adjust, or repair this

equipment, always disengage all drives, lower

implements to the ground, engage parking brake,

stop engine and remove key from ignition switch

to prevent injuries.

OPERATION 4

4.4 STARTING________________________________________________________________

IMPORTANT: Do not use starting assist fluids. Use of

such fluids in the air intake system may be potentially

explosive or cause a “Runaway” engine condition and

could result in serious engine damage.

The engine is equipped with an automatic glow plug

system. This system preheats the cylinders to the correct

starting temperature before cranking.

1. Sit in operator’s seat, make sure the power take-off

switch (Y) is OFF and the parking brake is engaged.

Remove feet from pedals. Always use the seat belt

when operating tractors equipped with a ROPS.

2. Set throttle lever (M) to half throttle.

3. Turn ignition switch (V) to RUN ( ). The glow plug

indicator (R2) will automatically light, showing the

glow plug system is energized.

At this time the engine oil pressure and battery

warning lights will also come on.

4. Wait until glow plug light goes out, then immediately

turn ignition key to START ( ). Release as soon as

engine starts.

Note: Do not hold key in START position for more

than 10 seconds at a time. After 10 seconds the

starting circuit will shutdown and must be reset by

returning the key to the OFF position.

If engine fails to start, return ignition switch to the

OFF position to reset glow plug timer. Allow 30

seconds between start-up attempts to allow time for

engine starter motor to cool.

5. All warning lights should go off after engine starts.

Note: The hydraulic oil warning light (I) may remain

on until oil has warmed up. Wait until oil has warmed

up and light goes out before operating tractor. If light

remains on even after oil has reached operating

temperature, change oil filters. See Parts &

Maintenance manual

4.5 STOPPING / PARKING______________________________________________________

To stop:

Remove your foot from traction pedal. The tractor will

automatically brake when the traction pedal returns to

neutral.

To park the tractor under normal conditions:

1. Disengage the power take-off switch (Y), raise the

decks and move away from the area of operation.

2. Select a flat and level area to park.

a. Release traction pedal to bring the tractor to a

complete stop.

b. Disengage all drives, lower decks to the ground,

reduce throttle to idle and allow engine to oper-

ate at no load for a minute.

3. Engage parking brake, stop the engine and always

remove the ignition key.

If an emergency arises and the tractor must be parked in

the area of operation, follow the guidelines outlined by

the grounds superintendent. If the tractor is parked on an

incline, chock or block the wheels.

4 OPERATION

4.6 TO DRIVE / TRANSPORT____________________________________________________

Read and follow all safety notes contained in this manual

when driving or transporting tractor. Refer to Section 4.3

for general operating instructions. When operating in

reverse look behind you to ensure you have a clear path.

Important: If this tractor is driven on public roads, it must

comply with federal, state and local ordinances. Contact

local authorities for regulations and equipment

requirements.

The tractor is equipped with transport locks to lock the

side decks in their upright position. Use the transport

locks where required for transporting machine over rough

terrain, on public roads or on trailers.

To raise decks to their transport position:

Set power take-off switch to OFF. Pull back and hold

deck levers until decks are in their fully raised (transport)

position.

To engage transport locks:

1. Raise decks to their transport position.

2. Disengage all drives, engage parking brake and

stop engine.

3. Pull transport lock out and rotate it into its locked

position as shown (A). Repeat for both side decks.

The operator has the option to transport in either 2-wheel

drive (2-WD) or 4-wheel drive (4-WD).

Note: Engage locks when storing machine overnight.

Transport locks must be disengaged before decks can be

lowered for cutting.

4.7 HILLSIDE OPERATION _____________________________________________________

The tractor has been designed for good traction and

stability under normal mowing conditions; however, use

caution when operating on slopes, especially over rough

terrain or when the grass is wet. Wet grass reduces

traction and steering control.

1. Always mow with the engine at full throttle but reduce

forward speed to maintain the proper cutting fre-

quency.

2. If the tractor tends to slide or the tires begin to

“mark” the turf, angle tractor into a less steep grade

until traction is regained or tire marking stops.

3. If tractor continues to slide or mark the turf, the

grade is too steep for safe operation. Do not make

another attempt to climb, back down slowly.

4. When descending a steep slope, always lower

implements to the ground to reduce the risk of

tractor overturning.

Correct tire pressure is essential for maximum traction.

WARNING

To minimize the possibility of overturning, the safest

method for operating on hills and terraces is to travel

up and down the face of the slope (vertically), not

across the face (horizontally). Avoid unnecessary

turns, travel at reduced speeds, and stay alert for

hidden hazards.

CAUTION

Do not operate this tractor on slopes greater than 17°.

OPERATION 4

4.8 MOWING _________________________________________________________________

To mow:

1. If side deck transport locks are engaged, release

them. Section 4.6.

2. Set tractor to 4WD (L). Cutting units will not operate

in 2WD.

3. Press deck levers (O) forward to lower decks.

Engage power take-off (Y) to start blades and

depress traction pedal slowly to begin mowing.

The correct operating speed depends on the height,

density, type of grass and terrain being cut.

4. To raise decks first turn power take-off switch (Y)

off to stop blades, then pull and hold deck levers (O)

back. Always stop and raise decks when crossing

paths or roadways.

5. Use turn assist pedals to reduce turning radius

when needed to cut around objects. Section 3.2 - B.

6. Adjust down pressure control (P) as desired to

improve weight distribution between decks and

tractor. Section 3.2 - P.

7. Plan your cutting pattern to avoid unnecessary turns

so you will mow as straight as possible.

a. For extremely tall grass, first cut at a higher level

then lower decks to the desired cutting height.

b. Slow down when turning, operating in tight

areas, mowing on hillsides or over rough terrain.

4.9 MOW SPEED______________________________________________________________

Cutting quality is better at speeds well below the

transport speed of the tractor. An initial mow speed of five

to six mph is set at the factory and should be satisfactory

for most cutting conditions. Local turf conditions however

may respond better to a different speed.

To set mow speed, loosen jam nut (A) and adjust stop

screw up to reduce speed, down to increase speed.

Tighten nut to hold adjustment in place.

WARNING

To prevent serious injuries, keep hands, feet and

clothing away from cutting unit when the blades are

moving.

NEVER use your hands to clean cutting units. Use a

brush to remove grass clippings from blades. Blades

can be sharp and could cause injuries.

To clear obstructions from cutting unit, disengage

power take-off, engage parking brake, stop engine

and remove key from ignition switch then remove

obstruction.

CAUTION

Never raise decks with the blades turning. Always

disengage power take-off.

4.10 AFTER OPERATION _______________________________________________________

1. Park the tractor on a flat, level surface. Fully lower

the implements to the ground, engage parking brake,

stop the engine and remove key from ignition switch.

2. Grease and lubricate all points if required, wash the

cutting units and tractor after each use.

Note: Do not wash a hot or running engine. Use

compressed air to clean the engine and radiator fins.

3. Fill the fuel tank with fresh, clean fuel. Be sure to

reinstall and tighten fuel cap.

Read Parts and Maintenance Manual for proper care and

cleaning procedures.

4.11 TOWING / TRAILERING _____________________________________________________

If the tractor experiences problems and must be shut

down and removed from the area, it should be loaded

onto a trailer for transport. If a trailer is not available, the

unit can be towed slowly short distances.

NOTE: Do not exceed 2 MPH (3.2 KPH) while towing.

Long distance towing is not recommended.

Use care when loading and unloading tractor. Fasten

tractor to trailer to prevent tractor from rolling or shifting

during transport.

Before towing, open tow valve. The tow valve permits

moving the tractor without starting the engine and

prevents possible damage to hydraulic components.

The tow valve (A) is located on the drive pump beneath

the operators seat. Remove cover from floor in back of

operator’s seat. To open valve, use a wrench or insert a

pin or small screw driver into the small hole in the valve

stem. Turn the valve counterclockwise one full turn.

Close valve completely and replace cover after towing.

4.12 DAILY MAINTENANCE______________________________________________________

Important: For more detailed maintenance information,

adjustments and maintenance/lubrication charts, see the

Parts& Maintenance manual.

1. Park the tractor on a flat and level surface. Fully

lower the cutting units to the ground, engage parking

brake, stop the engine and remove the key from igni-

tion switch.

2. Grease and lubricate all points if required. To

prevent fires, wash the cutting units and tractor after

each use.

a. Do not use high pressure spray.

b. Do not spray water directly at the instrument

panel, or any electrical components.

c. Do not spray water into cooling air intake, or the

engine air intake.

Note: Do not wash a hot or running engine. Use

compressed air to clean the engine and radiator fins.

3. Fill the tractors fuel tan at the end of each operating

day to within 1 in., (25 mm) below the filler neck.

Use clean fresh #2 diesel fuel. Minimum Cetane

Rating 45.

4. Handle fuel with care - it is highly flammable. Use

an approved container, the spout must fit inside the

fuel filler neck. Avoid using cans and funnels to

transfer fuel.

a. Never remove the fuel cap from the fuel tank, or

add fuel, when the engine is running or while the

engine is hot.

b. Do not smoke when handling fuel. Never fill or

drain the tank indoors.

c. Never overfill or allow the tank to become empty.

Do not spill fuel. Clean any spilled fuel

immediately.

d. Never handle or store fuel containers near an

open flame or any device that may create sparks

and ignite the fuel or fuel vapors.

5. Store fuel according to local, state or federal

ordinances and recommendations from your fuel

supplier.

6. Inspect hydraulic hoses and tubes daily. Look for

wet hoses or oil spots and replace worn or

damaged hoses and tubes before operating the

machine.

7. Check the engine oil and hydraulic oil at the start of

each day, before starting the engine. If the oil level

is low, remove the oil filler cap and add oil as

required. Do not overfill.

WARNING

To prevent serious injury from hot, high pressure

oil, never use your hands to check for oil leaks,

use paper or cardboard.

Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure can have

sufficient force to penetrate skin. If fluid is injected

into the skin, it must be surgically removed within

a few hours by a doctor familiar with this form of

injury or gangrene may result.

1.1 MANIPULACIÓN SEGURA___________________________________________________

1. La seguridad depende del conocimiento, la preocu-

gan en servicio el equipo. Nunca se debe permitir a

menores manipular ningún equipo.

2. Debe leer este manual y todas las publicaciones

relacionadas con este equipo (Manual de piezas y

mantenimiento, Manual del motor y accesorios). Si el

operador no puede leer en espagnól, el propietario

será responsable de explicarle la información

contenida en este manual.

3. Aprenda a utilizar correctamente la máquina, la

ubicación y la finalidad de todos los mandos y

medidores antes de manipular el equipo. Trabajar con

equipo con el que no se está familiarizado puede

provocar accidentes.

4. Nunca permita que personas que no han sido

convenientemente instruidas y formadas manipulen o

eléctricos, etc.) y subterráneos (aspersores, tuberías,

raíces de árboles, etc.). Entre en un área nueva con

cuidado. Permanezca alerta de posibles peligros

ocultos.

7. Nunca dirija la descarga de material hacia los

transeúntes ni permita que nadie se acerque a la

máquina mientras esté funcionando. El propietario/

operador puede prevenir y es responsable de las

lesiones que se provoquen a sí mismos, a los

transeúntes, así como de cualquier daño material.

8. Nunca manipule equipo que no esté funcionando en

hidráulico presurizado puede penetrar en la piel y

16. Maniobre la máquina por las pendientes en sentido

vertical, nunca horizontalmente.

17. Para evitar el vuelco o la pérdida de control, no

arranque o pare la máquina bruscamente; reduzca la

velocidad al tomar curvas cerradas. Tenga cuidado al

cambiar de dirección en las pendientes.

18. Utilice siempre el cinturón de seguridad cuando

movimiento.

ADVERTENCIA

El sistema de seguridad del operador de este tractor impide que sea

3 CONTROLES

3.2 Controles ________________________________________________________________

A. Palanca de Dirección de Inclinación

Levantar la palanca para soltar la columna de

dirección. Levantar o bajar la columna a la posición

deseada. Soltar la palanca para bloquear la

columna en su lugar.

B. Asistencia Giro

Reduce el radio de giro de la máquina para operar en

zonas reducidas. Los pedales de asistencia de giro se

usan para girar alrededor de árboles y otros objetos. Para

operar la asistencia de giro, apretar el pedal hacia abajo

gradualmente hasta llegar al radio de giro deseado - pedal

izquierdo (B1) para giros a la izquierda, pedal derecho

(B2) para giros a la derecha.

Nota: Si se aprieta el pedal demasiado hará que la

rueda se bloquee y puede rasgar o dejar marcas en el

césped.

C. Limitador de Velocidad

Limita la dirección de velocidad mientras se corta o se

operan los accesorios. Para operar a una velocidad de

carrera inferior girar la palanca según se indica en (C

)

para que entre en contacto con el tornillo de parada en el

suelo cuando se aprieta sobre el pedal de tracción hacia

adelante. Para viajar a toda velocidad de carrera, ajustar

la palanca en la posición indicada en (C

). El tornillo de

parada (C

) se puede ajustar a velocidades de carrera

específicas.

D. Pedal de Tracción

Apretar el pedal delantero (D

) hacia abajo para ir hacia

adelante. Soltar el pedal para frenar y parar el tractor.

Apretar el pedal trasero (D

) hacia abajo para ir en

reversa. Soltar el pedal para frenar y parar el tractor. Dejar

que el tractor se pare completamente antes de poner en

reversa.

E. Alarma

La alarma, con las luces de advertencia, suena para

avisar al operario de las condiciones que necesitan

atención inmediata. Ver Sección 3.3.

F. Tapa/Varilla Aceite Hidráulico

Mientras la máquina está fría llenar hasta la marca

verde en la varilla con fluido hidráulico limpio. No llenar

demasiado.

G. Tapa de Combustible

Llenar el depósito de combustible con diesel N

2, tipo

mínimo cetano 45. Sección 4.12 Ver manual de la máquina

con especificaciones adicionales de combustible.

H. Freno de Estacionamiento

Para poner el freno de estacionamiento tirar de la

palanca. Engranar siempre el freno de estacionamiento

antes de arrancar y después de parar la máquina.

I. Ajuste de los Asientos

El asiento estándar del operario tiene cinco posiciones:

J. Cerrojos Carrera Cubierta Lateral

Cierra las cubiertas en posición vertical para transportar

el tractor. Los cerrojos se deben soltar manualmente antes

de bajar las cubiertas. Sección 4.6.

K. Interruptor Prueba Sistema Alarma

Se usa para probar el sistema de alarma. Poner la

llave de contacto en OPERACION y apretar el interruptor.

Sonará una alarma sonora y se iluminan las luces de

advertencia.

L. Interruptor - Dirección 2WD / 4 WD

Pone el tractor en dirección de dos o cuatro ruedas. El

tractor debe estar en 4WD para operar las unidades de

corte.

El tractor vuelve a 2 WD al recular a menos que esté

pulsado el interruptor de reversa 4WD (Z).

PRECAUCION

No ajustar nunca la dirección con el tractor en

movimiento. Parar la unidad y poner el freno de

estacionamiento antes de hacer el ajuste.

CONTROLES 3

M. Acelerador del Motor

Controla la velocidad del motor. Operar la máquina con

el acelerador abierto cuando se transporte la máquina.

Nota: No interferir con el cerrojo de parada de

acelerador.

N. Interruptor - Reversa 2WD / 4WD

Pone la 4WD momentáneamente en reversa.

Apretar y mantener apretado el interruptor para cambiar

a 4WD. La máquina vuelve a 2 WD al soltar el interruptor.

O. Palancas de Cubierta

Sube y baja las cubiertas. Las cubiertas se pueden

levantar juntas o por separado. Al levantar las cubiertas,

sujetar la palanca hacia detrás hasta que la cubierta esté

completamente levantada. Las palancas vuelven a neutro

al sotarlas.

P. Control Reducción Presión

Transferencia del peso entre cubiertas y el tractor.

Girar el control a la derecha para reducir la

presión hacia abajo en las cubiertas y transferir el

peso al tractor. Al reducir la presión hacia abajo se

mejora la tracción, pero puede causar que las cubiertas

floten, causando un corte desigual.

Para aumentar la presión hacia abajo en las

cubiertas girar el control a la izquierda. Esto

reduce la tracción pero mejora el contacto de la

cubierta con el terreno.

Q. Interruptor de Luz (opcional)

Controla la operación de las luces de carretera y de

trabajo.

R. Luces de Advertencia

Avisa al operario sobre las condiciones que necesitan

acción inmediata. Ver Sección 3.3.

S. Indicador de Temperatura

Indica la temperatura del refrigerante del motor. La

temperatura normal de operación debe ser entre 71°-

110°C. Si la temperatura sube por encima de 110°C,

sonará la alarma. Ver Sección 3.3.

T. Indicador de Combustible

Indica el nivel actual de combustible. Revisar el

indicador diariamente antes de arrancar la máquina.

U. Contador de Horas

Registra las horas de operación del motor. Usar el

contador de horas para programar el mantenimiento

periódico.

V. Contacto

El contacto tiene tres posiciones. DESC.-OPERACION

CON-ARRANQUE. En la posición OPERACION el sistema

eléctrico está activado. Poner en ARRANQUE para

arrancar el motor. Poner siempre en DESC. y quitar la llave

al abandonar la máquina.

W. Luz de Nivel de Aceite Hidráulico

Avisa al operador de un nivel de fluido bajo en el

depósito hidráulico. Ver Sección 3.3.

Nota: La luz de advertencia permanece iluminada

mientras el nivel esté bajo. La luz se ilumina

momentáneamente al arrancar el motor.

X. Control de Crucero (opción)

Cuando se CONECTA (el control de crucero bloqueará

el pedal de tracción en su posición actual. El crucero se

desbloquea cuando se DESCONECTE, o si se pone el

freno de estacionamiento.

Y. Interruptor de Toma de Potencia

Alimenta potencia a las unidades de corte. El tractor

debe estar en 4WD (L) y las cubiertas bajadas (O) para

que se engranen las unidades de corte.

3 CONTROLES

3.3 AVISOS AL OPERARIO_____________________________________________________

El controlador electrónico controla los sistemas vitales de

la máquina. Usa una alarma sonora y luces de

advertencia para avisar al operario de las condiciones

que necesitan atención inmediata. Cuando tiene lugar

una alerta, seguir las guías generales indicadas en el

cuadro siguiente, y cualquier acción específica indicada

por el superintendente de campo o director de servicio.

Para probar el sistema de alarma:

Poner el interruptor en OPERACION. Se encenderán

todas las luces durante un segundo o más y la alarma

sonará brevemente.

Este sistema controla:

1. Nivel de fluido hidráulico

2. Presión del aceite del motor

3. Temperatura del refrigerante del motor

4. Filtro de aceite hidráulico

5. Voltaje de la batería

6. Indica que la bujía incandescente está activada.

¡Parar el tractor inmediatamente, bajar los accesorios y apagar el

motor! Revisar visualmente el tractor en cuanto a señales evidentes de

fugas alrededor de las conexiones, manguitos y componentes hidráulicos.

Llevar el tractor a la zona de servicio para mantenimiento.

PRECAUCION - El fluido hidráulico está bajo presión. Apagar el

motor y dejar que el fluido se enfríe antes de revisar el nivel o añadir

aceite al depósito.

2. Presión del Aceite del Motor -

Suena la alarma y se enciende

la luz de presión de aceite.

Presión baja de aceite.

¡Parar el tractor inmediatamente, bajar los accesorios y apagar el

motor! Revisar el nivel de aceite en el motor. Si la luz permanece

encendida con el aceite al nivel debido, apagar el motor y llevar el tractor de

nuevo al área de servicio. NUNCA operar el motor con la luz del aceite

iluminada, el motor puede sufrir graves daños.

3. Temperatura del Refrig-

erante del Motor - Suena la

alarma. La temperatura del

refrigerante del motor está alta.

¡Parar el tractor inmediatamente, bajar los accesorios y apagar el

motor! Quitar la basura como hojas y recortes de hierba que puedan estar

impidiendo la entrada de aire por la ventanilla trasera en el capó y áreas

entre el radiador y el refrigerador de aceite. Si el motor continúa caliente,

devolver el tractor al área de servicio.

PRECAUCION: El refrigerante del motor está bajo presión. Apagar el

motor y dejar que se enfríe el fluido antes de revisar el nivel o añadir

refrigerante al radiador.

4. Filtro de aceite hidráulico - La

luz de advertencia del filtro de

aceite permanece encendida.

Devolver el tractor al área de servicio lo antes posible. Cambiar los filtros

de aceite hidráulico.

5. Voltaje de la batería - Se

ilumina la luz de advertencia.

Devolver el tractor al área de servicio lo antes posible. Revisar la batería

y el sistema de carga.

FUNCIONAMIENTO 4

4 FUNCI ONA MIENTO

4.1 INSPECCIÓN DIARIA _______________________________________________________

1. Realice una inspección visual de toda la unidad,

busque signos de desgaste, piezas sueltas y compo-

nentes extraviados o dañados. Compruebe si hay

fugas de combustible o aceite y asegúrese de que

las conexiones estén bien apretadas, y que los tubos

y mangueras estén en buen estado.

2. Compruebe el suministro de combustible, el nivel

del refrigerante del radiador, el indicador de aceite

del cigüeñal y el indicador del limpiador de aire.

Con el motor en frío, todos los fluidos deben estar

en la marca de nivel lleno.

3. Asegúrese de que todas las unidades de corte

estén ajustadas a la misma altura de corte.

4. Compruebe el aire de los neumáticos.

4.2 SISTEMA AUXILIAR DEL OPERARIO__________________________________________

1. Este sistema impide que el motor arranque a menos

que esté puesto el freno de estacionamiento, el

pedal de tracción en punto neutro y el interruptor de

relés DESCONECTADO. El sistema también para el

motor si el operador abandona su asiento con el

interruptor de rodillos CONECTADO, si los pedales

de corte o de elevación no están en PUNTO NEU-

TRO o si el freno de estacionamiento está

QUITADO.

2. Realice cada una de las siguientes comproba-

ciones para verificar si el sistema de seguridad del

operador funciona correctamente. Detenga las

pruebas y haga que inspeccionen o reparen el

sistema si alguno de las pruebas enumeradas a

continuación falla:

● en la prueba 1 el motor no arranca;

● en las pruebas 2, 3 ó 4 el motor arranca;

● en las pruebas 5 ó 6 el motor continúa

funcionando.

3. Consulte el cuadro siguiente para cada una de las

pruebas y siga las marcas de comprobación (✔) del

cuadro. Apague el motor entre pruebas.

Prueba 1: Consiste en el modo de arranque habitual. El

operador está sentado, el freno de estacionamiento

puesto, los pies fuera de los pedales y el interruptor de

rodillos DESCONECTADO. El motor debería arrancar.

Prueba 2: El motor no debe arrancar si el interruptor de

rodillos está CONECTADO.

Prueba 3: El motor no debe arrancar si el freno de

estacionamiento está QUITADO.

Prueba 4: El motor no debe arrancar si cualquiera de

los pedales de corte o de elevación están pisados.

Prueba 5: Arranque el motor como de costumbre y a

continuación CONECTADO el interruptor de rodillos y

levántese del asiento sin abandonarlo completamente.★

Prueba 6: Arranque el motor como de costumbre,

seguidamente quite el freno de estacionamiento y

levántese del asiento sin abandonarlo completamente. ★

★ Levantarse del asiento.

★ Levantarse del asiento. Se apaga el motor.

PRECAUCION

La inspección diaria deberá realizarse solamente con el

motor apagado y cuando todos los fluidos estén fríos. Baje

las unidades de corte al suelo, ponga el freno de

estacionamiento, pare el motor y retire la llave de contacto.

ADVERTENCIA

Nunca se debe manipular el equipo si el sistema

de seguridad del operador está desconectado o

funcionando mal. No desconecte ni derive ningún

interruptor.

4.3 PROCEDIMIENTOS DE OPERACION __________________________________________

1. En ningún caso debe ponerse en marcha el motor

sin que el conductor esté sentado.

2. No poner en funcionamiento el tractor o los

accesorios con componentes sueltos, dañados o

extraviados. Siempre que sea posible, corte césped

que esté seco.

3. Primeramente, corte césped en una zona de prueba

para familiarizarse completamente con el funciona-

miento del tractor y de las palancas de mandos.

4. Examine el área para determinar el procedimiento de

trabajo mejor y más seguro. Considere la altura de la

hierba, el tipo de terreno y el estado de la superficie.

Cada situación requerirá realizar determinados ajustes

o tomar ciertas precauciones. Usar sólo accesorios y

herramientas aprobadas por Textron Turf Care and

Speciality Products.

5. Nunca dirija la descarga de material hacia los

transeúntes, ni permita que nadie se acerque a la

máquina mientras esté trabajando. El propietario u

operador es responsable de las lesiones producidas

a los transeúntes, daños materiales o ambas cosas.

6. Sea prudente cuando trabaje cerca de zonas con

grava (carreteras, aparcamientos, etc.). Las piedras

lanzadas por las herramientas pueden lesionar

gravemente a los transeúntes o dañar el equipo.

7. Desconectar siempre la toma de potencia para

parar las cuchillas cuando no se siegue.

8. Desactive los motores y eleve los rodillos cuando

cruce caminos o carreteras. Tenga precaución con

el tráfico.

9. Pare y compruebe si el equipo está dañado inmedi-

atamente después de golpear un obstáculo o si la

máquina comienza a vibrar anormalmente. Haga

que le reparen el equipo antes de reanudar el

trabajo.

10. Reduzca la velocidad y preste especial atención

cuando conduzca por pendientes. Lea la sección

4.7. Sea prudente cuando trabaje cerca de despren-

dimientos.

11. Mire atrás y al suelo antes de recular para

asegurarse de que el camino está libre. Tenga

cuidado cuando se aproxime a esquinas donde no

llegan bien las herramientas, arbustos, árboles u

otros objetos que pueden impedir la visión.

12. Nunca limpie las unidades de corte con las manos.

Utilice un cepillo para retirar los restos de hierba de

los rodillos. Las cuchillas son extremadamente

afiladas y pueden provocar graves lesiones.

ADVERTENCIA

Disponemos de una Estructura de Protección contra Vuelco (ROPS) como accesorio opcional. Los cinturones de

seguridad se deberán llevar puestos siempre que se instale un ROPS en el tractor. Llevar siempre el cinturón bien

ajustado. NO usar los cinturones en un tractor sin un ROPS.

Si se ha instalado un ROPS y el tractor vuelca, agarrarse al volante. No tratar de saltar ni moverse del asiento.

CAUTION

Para ayudar a prevenir lesiones, llevar siempre gafas de seguridad, zapatos o botas de trabajo de piel, un casco

duro, y protección en los oídos. El pelo largo, ropa suelta o joyas se pueden atascar en las piezas en movimiento.

CAUTION

Antes de segar, recoger toda la basura como piedras,

juguetes y alambres que pueda tirar la máquina. Entrar en

una nueva área con precaución. Operar siempre a

velocidades que permitan el control total del tractor.

ADVERTENCIA

Al objeto de evitar lesiones, antes de limpiar,

ajustar o reparar el equipo, desactive siempre

todas las transmisiones, baje las unidades de

corte al suelo, ponga el freno de

estacionamiento, pare el motor y retire la llave de

contacto.

FUNCIONAMIENTO 4

4.4 ARRANQUE ______________________________________________________________

IMPORTANTE: No utilice fluidos auxiliares ya que su

uso en el sistema de admisión podría provocar

explosiones o un estado de embalamiento del motor y,

como consecuencia, dañarlo seriamente.

El motor está equipado con un sistema indicador

automático de bujía incandescente. Este sistema

precalienta los cilindros a la temperatura de arranque

correcta antes de arrancar.

1. Sentarse en el asiento del operario, comprobar que

el interruptor de potencia (Y) está en DESC. y que el

freno de estacionamiento está engranado. Retirar

los pies del pedal. Usar siempre el cinturón de segu-

ridad al operar tractores equipados con ROPS.

2. Ajustar la palanca del acelerador (M) en posición

media.

3. Poner el contacto (V) en OPERACION ( ). El

indicador de la bugía incandescente (R2) se ilumina

automáticamente, indicando que el sistema de

bugías incandescentes está activado.

En este momento se iluminan las luces de advertencia

de la presión de aceite del motor y de la batería.

4. Esperar hasta que se apague la luz del indicador de

bujía incandescente, entonces cambiar la llave de

contacto inmediatamente a la posición

“ARRANQUE” . Soltar en cuanto arranque el

motor.

Nota: no mantener la llave en la posición “ARRANQUE”

más de 10 segundos cada vez. Al cabo de 10 segundos el

circuito de arranque se cierra y se debe ajustar de nuevo

poniendo la llave de contacto en la posición DESC.

Si el motor no arranca, poner el contacto de nuevo en la

posición DESC. para restablecer el contador de la bugía

incandescente. Se debe dejar pasar 30 segundos antes de

tratar de arrancar de nuevo para que se enfríe el motor de

arranque del motor.

5. Todas las luces se deberán apagar al arrancar el

motor.

Nota: La luz de advertencia de aceite hidráulico (I) se

puede mantener puesta hasta que se caliente el aceite.

Esperar hasta que se haya calentado el aceite y se apague

la luz antes de operar el tractor. Si la luz sigue puesta una

vez que el aceite llega a la temperatura de operación,

cambiar los filtros de aceite. Consultar el Manual de

Piezas y Mantenimiento.

4.5 PARADA / ESTACIONAMIENTO_______________________________________________

Para parar:

Retire el pie del pedal de tracción. El tractor frenará

automáticamente cuando el pedal esté en punto neutro.

Para aparcar el tractor en condiciones normales:

1. Desengranar el interruptor de toma de potencia (Y),

levantar las cubiertas y alejarse de la zona de oper-

ación.

2. Seleccione una zona lisa y llana para aparcar.

a. Soltar el pedal de tracción para que se pare el

tractor completamente.

b. Desactive todas las transmisiones, baje las

unidades de corte al suelo, reduzca la velocidad

y deje que el motor funcione en ralentí durante

un minuto.

3. Ponga el freno de estacionamiento, pare el motor y

retire siempre la llave de contacto.

Si surge una emergencia y el tractor debe estar

aparcado en el área de trabajo, siga las instrucciones

ofrecidas por el encargado del campo. Si el tractor es

aparcado en un desnivel, inmovilice o bloquee las ruedas.

4 FUNCIONAMIENTO

4.6 DIRECCIÓN / TRANSPORTE_________________________________________________

Lea y haga caso de los avisos de seguridad que contiene

este manual cuando conduzca o transporte el tractor.

Consultar la Sección 4.3 con instrucciones generales de

operación. Cuando maniobre hacia atrás mire detrás de

Ud. para asegurarse de que el camino esté libre.

Importante: Si se conduce en carreteras públicas, el

tractor debe cumplir las disposiciones y leyes locales.

Póngase en contacto con los organismos locales para

que le informen de las disposiciones y requisitos

pertinentes.

El tractor está equipado con cierres de transporte para

sujetar las cubiertas laterales en su posición vertical.

Usar los cierres de transporte cuando sean necesario

para transportar la máquina sobre terreno desnivelado,

en carreteras públicas o en remolques.

Elevación de los carretes a la posición de transporte:

Poner el interruptor de toma de potencia en DESC. Tirar

de las palancas de cubierta y sujetarlas hasta que estén

totalmente levantadas en posición de transporte.

Instalación de las barras de transporte:

1. Levantar los carretes a la posición de transporte.

2. Desenganchar todas las unidades, poner el freno

de estacionamiento y parar el motor.

3. Tirar del cerrojo de transporte y girarlo a la posición

cerrada según se indica en (A). Repetir para las

dos cubiertas laterales.

El operario tiene la opción de transportar con dirección a

las 2 ruedas (2WD) o las 4 ruedas (4WD).

Nota: Engranar los cerrojos cuando se guarde la

máquina durante la noche. Se deben desengranar los

cerrojos de transporte antes de bajar las cubiertas para

cortar.

4.7 MANIOBRAS EN PENDIENTES ______________________________________________

Aunque el tractor ha sido diseñado para proporcionar

excelente tracción y perfecta estabilidad en condiciones

normales de corte, sea prudente cuando maniobre en

pendientes, especialmente en terreros irregulares o

sobre hierba mojada, ya que ésta reduce la tracción y el

control de la dirección.

1. Corte el césped siempre con el motor a toda marcha

pero reduzca la velocidad de avance para mantener

la frecuencia de corte adecuada.

2. Si el tractor tiende a resbalar o los neumáticos

«marcan» el césped, coloque el tractor en una

pendiente menos empinada hasta que se vuelva a

recuperar la tracción o los neumáticos dejen de

marcar el césped.

3. Si el tractor continúa resbalando o marcando el

césped, la pendiente es demasiado empinada y no

se puede maniobrar la máquina con seguridad. No

vuelva a intentar escalar, descienda despacio.

4. Cuando descienda una pendiente empinada, baje

siempre el grupo de herramientas de corte al suelo

para que el riesgo de que vuelque el tractor sea

menor.

Para conseguir la máxima tracción es imprescindible que

la presión de los neumáticos sea la correcta. Consultar el

Manual de Piezas y Mantenimiento.

ADVERTENCIA

Al objeto de minimizar la posibilidad de vuelco, el

método más seguro de maniobrar en colinas y

pendientes es circular arriba y abajo verticalmente y

no horizontalmente. Evite giros innecesarios, circule a

poca velocidad y esté alerta de los posibles peligros

ocultos.

CAUTION

No maniobre el tractor en pendientes de más de 17°.

FUNCIONAMIENTO 4

4.8 SEGADO _________________________________________________________________

Para segar:

1. Si se han puesto los cerrojos de transporte de cubi-

erta, soltarlos. Sección 4.6.

2. Poner el tractor en 4WD (L). Las unidades de corte

no funcionan en 2WD.

3. Apretar las palancas de cubierta (O) hacia adelante

para bajar las cubiertas. Engranar la toma de

potencia (Y) para arrancar las cuchillas y apretar el

pedal de tracción lentamente para comenzar a

segar.

La velocidad de operación correcta depende de la

altura, densidad, tipo de hierba y terreno donde se corta.

4. Para levantar las cubiertas desconectar primero el

interruptor de toma de potencia (Y) a las cuchillas,

entonces tirar y sujetar las palancas de cubierta (O).

Parar y levantar siempre las cubiertas al cruzar

caminos o carreteras.

5. Usar los pedales de asistencia de giro para reducir

el radio de giro cuando sea necesario cortar

alrededor de objetos. Sección 3.2 - B.

6. Ajustar el pedal de presión hacia abajo (P) según

necesidad para mejorar la distribución de peso

entre las cubiertas y el tractor. Sección 3.2 - P.

7. Planear el patrón de corte para evitar giros innece-

sarios y poder segar todo lo recto que se pueda.

a. Para hierba extremadamente alta, cortar primero

a un nivel alto y después bajar las cubiertas a la

altura necesaria.

b. Frenar al girar cuando se trabaje en zonas estre-

chas, segando sobre cuestas o sobre terreno

abrupto.

ADVERTENCIA

Para evitar lesiones graves, mantener las manos,

pies y ropa alejados de la unidad de corte cuando las

cuchillas estén en movimiento.

No limpiar NUNCA las unidades de corte con las

manos. Usar un cepillo para retirar los recortes de

hierba de las cuchillas. Las cuchillas están

extremadamente afiladas y pueden causar lesiones

graves.

Para limpiar las obstrucciones de la unidad de corte,

desengranar la toma de potencia, poner el freno de

estacionamiento, parar el motor, quitar la llave de

contacto y limpiar la obstrucción.

CAUTION

No levantar nunca las cubiertas con las cuchillas

girando. Desconectar siempre la toma de potencia.

4 FUNCIONAMIENTO

4.9 VELOCIDAD DE SEGADO___________________________________________________

La calidad de corte es mejor a velocidades muy por

debajo a la de transporte del tractor. En la fábrica se

ajusta a una velocidad de segado inicial de 8-10 kph, que

deben ser suficiente para la mayoría de condiciones de

corte. Las condiciones locales de la hierba puede

responder mejor a la diferente velocidad.

Para ajustar la velocidad de segado aflojar la

contratuerca (A) y ajustar el tornillo de cierre para reducir

la velocidad, hacia abajo para aumentar la velocidad.

Apretar la tuerca para mantener el ajuste en su lugar.

4.10 POST OPERACION ________________________________________________________

1. Estacionar el tractor sobre terreno llano y nivelado.

Bajar totalmente los accesorios al terreno, engranar

el freno de estacionamiento, parar el motor y quitar

la llave de contacto.

2. Engrasar y lubricar todos los puntos necesarios,

lavar las unidades de corte y el tractor después de

cada uso.

Nota: No lavar el motor si está caliente o en marcha.

Usar aire comprimido para limpiar el motor y las aletas del

radiador.

3. Llenar el depósito con combustible nuevo y limpio.

Asegurarse que se instala de nuevo y se aprieta la

tapa del depósito.

Leer el Manual de Piezas y mantenimiento con los

procedimientos de asistencia y limpieza adecuados.

4.11 REMOLCAR/ARRASTRAR __________________________________________________

Si debido a problemas es necesario interrumpir

temporalmente la actividad del tractor y llevarlo fuera de

la zona de trabajo tendrá que ser cargado en un trailer. Si

no se dispusiese de uno, puede ser remolcado despacio

a lo largo de cortas distancias.

NOTA: No exceder 3,2 KPH mientras se arrastra. No se

recomienda el arrastre a larga distancia.

Tener cuidado al cargar y descargar el tractor. Sujetar el

tractor al remolque para evitar que se balancee o se

mueva durante el transporte.

Antes de arrastralo, abrir la válvula de arrastre. Esta

válvula permite mover el tractor sin arrancar el motor y

evita el posible daño a los componentes hidráulicos.

La válvula de remolque (A) está situada en la bomba de

dirección, debajo del asiento del operario. Retirar la tapa

del suelo detrás del asiento del operario. Para abrir la

válvula, usar una llave o introducir un pasador o pequeño

destornillador en el pequeño orificio del vástago de la

válvula. Girar la válvula a la izquierda una vuelta

completa.

Cerrar la válvula completamente y reponer la tapa

después de remolcar.

1. Aparque el tractor en una superficie llana y lisa. Baje

completamente al suelo el grupo de herramientas de

corte, ponga el freno de estacionamiento, pare el

motor y retire la llave de contacto.

2. Engrase y lubrique todos los puntos si es necesario.

Para evitar incendios, lave las unidades de corte y

el tractor después de cada utilización.

a. No utilice sprays de alta presión.

b. No rocíe agua directamente en el panel de man-

dos ni en ningún componente eléctrico.

c. No rocíe agua en la entrada de aire de refrig-

eración o en la entrada de aire del motor.

Nota: Nunca lave el motor mientras esté caliente o

funcionando. Utilice aire comprimido para limpiar las aletas

del motor y el radiador.

3. Llene el depósito de combustible al final de cada

operación diaria hasta 25 mm por debajo del cuello

del tubo de llenado.

Utilice combustible

diesel nº 2 nuevo. Tasa mínima de cetano 45.

4. Manipule con cuidado el combustible, es muy

inflamable. Utilice un contenedor adecuado de

modo que la espita quepa en el cuello del tubo de

llenado de combustible. Evite la utilización de latas

y embudos para transferir el combustible.

a. Nunca retire el tapón del depósito de combusti-

ble, o añada combustible, con el motor en mar-

cha o caliente.

b. Absténgase de fumar mientras manipule com-

bustible. Nunca llene o drene el depósito en

espacios cerrados.

c. Nunca llene en exceso o permita que el depósito

se vacíe completamente. No derrame combusti-

ble. Limpie cualquier derrame inmediatamente.

d. Nunca manipule o almacene contenedores con

combustible cerca de llamas o de ningún dispos-

itivo que pudiera lanzar chispas y hacer prender

el combustible o los vapores que éste despide.

5. Almacene el combustible de acuerdo con las

normativas locales y las recomendaciones de su

proveedor.

6. Revisar los manguitos y tubos hidráulicos

diariamente. Revisar los manguitos húmedos o

puntos de aceite y cambiar los manguitos y tubos

gastados o dañados antes de operar la máquina.

7. Revisar el aceite del motor y la bobina hidráulica al

comienzo de cada día, antes de arrancar el motor.

Si el nivel de aceite está bajo, retirar la tapa de

llenado de aceite y añadir aceite según necesidad.

No llenar demasiado.

ADVERTENCIA

Para evitar que el aceite a alta presión y caliente

provoque graves lesiones, nunca compruebe con

las manos las posibles fugas de aceite, utilice

papel o cartón.

El escape de fluido hidráulico presurizado puede

penetrar la piel. En el caso de que esto ocurra, la

lesión debe ser operada en las horas siguientes

por un cirujano especializado en este tipo de

lesiones o, de lo contrario, la herida podría

gangrenarse.
