Important cord information

This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric

shock, this plug only ﬁts into a polarized outlet in one way. If the

plug does not completely ﬁt into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it

still does not ﬁt, contact a qualiﬁed electrician. Do not attempt to

modify the plug in any way.

a) A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord)

should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming

entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord.

b) Longer detachable power supply cords or extensions cords

may be used if they are used carefully.

c) If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord

1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension

cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the

appliance;

Never use this appliance in the close vicinity of baths,

shower basins or other receptacles containing water. The

proximity of water presents a risk, even when the appliance is

turned oﬀ. For additional protection, the installation of a ground

fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) unit with an activation power

rating of no more than 30mA is recommended for the power

circuit in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

► If any liquid gets into the housing, unplug the appliance imme-

diately and have it repaired by a qualiﬁed technician.

► Connect the appliance exclusively to a correctly fused power

socket.

► Do not touch the appliance and/or the plug with wet hands.

► To disconnect the power cord, always pull the plug by hold-

ing the power socket; do not pull it by the power cord itself.

► Should the appliance become damaged, discontinue the use

of it immediately to avoid personal risks.

► Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance, and pro-

tect it from being damaged.

► To enable you to disconnect the appliance quickly in the

► Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance

yourself. Should you do so, the safety can no longer be

assured and the warranty becomes void. Only authorized

technicians should repair a defective appliance if repairs

► The appliance and its accessories can become hot during

use. Therefore, only touch the handle and the buttons.

► This appliance may be used by children who are 8 years of

age or older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory

or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowl-

edge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the

safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential

risks. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning

and maintenance should not be performed by children, unless

they are being supervised.

► Always use the appliance with attachments, never on its own,

as the connector for the attachments becomes hot during

operation.

► Keep the openings for air inlet and outlet clear to ensure un-

impaired air ﬂow. Otherwise, the appliance may overheat.

► Exercise caution when using hair spray, water atomizers, etc.

The air ﬂow could blow these substances directly into your

This appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for

use beyond the scope described in these operating instructions.

Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will

not be accepted. The operator alone bears liability.

SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES

In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are

provided instead of grounding.

No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance,

nor should a means for grounding be added to the appliance.

Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care

and knowledge of the system, and should only be carried out by

qualiﬁed service personnel.

Replacement parts for a double-insulated appliance must be iden-

tical to the parts they replace.

Unpacking

♦ Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instruc-

tions from the box.

♦ Remove all packaging material.

RISK OF SUFFOCATION!

Packaging material should not be used as a toy. There is a risk of

suﬀocation.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the appliance against transport damage.

The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental

friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material cycle conserves

raw materials and reduces the amount of generated waste. Dis-

pose of packaging material that is no longer needed according to

the regionally established regulations.

If possible preserve the appliance’s original packaging during

the warranty period so that you can package the appliance

properly for its return in the event of a warranty claim.

First use

After operation, the appliance components may be hot!

Fitting Attachments

■ Fit the desired attachment into the attachment insertion slot 1

and turn it slightly until it clicks into position.

Removing attachments

■ First turn the appliance oﬀ and allow it to cool down.

■ Pull the attachment from the attachment insertion slot 1.

Connect to power source

This appliance is ﬁtted with a safety connector q, which contains a

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). If the appliance malfunc-

tions (e.g. by coming into contact with water), the GFCI changes

to "oﬀ" and the appliance will no longer have power.

If the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter in the safety

connector q is no longer functioning, discontinue use. Unplug the safety

connector q and contact the customer service department.

We recommend testing the safety connector q before each use to

make sure it is functioning perfectly:

1) Plug the safety connector q into an electrical outlet. Ensure

that the power being supplied from the electrical outlet

matches the voltage speciﬁed on the label.

2) Now press the "Test" button 0. The "Reset" button 9 will

spring out a little more from the q safety connector.

Now the appliance cannot be turned on again. The Ground

Fault Circuit Interrupter is working.

3) Press the "Reset" button 9 so that it snaps back into place.

You can now use the appliance.

Turning on/oﬀ | Selecting a heat level

■ When you have inserted the required attachment and con-

nected the plug to the power socket, you can turn the appli-

ance on with the level switch 3 and select the output level:

–"OFF" The appliance is turned oﬀ

–"C" for a cold air stream (Cool Shot)

– "1" for a warm air stream

– "2" for a hot air stream

■ You turn the appliance oﬀ by sliding the level switch 3 to the

"OFF" position (= appliance oﬀ).

■ To ﬁx the styling, you can move the level switch 3 to "C".

The styling will be ﬁxed by the cool air stream.

Styling

Select the desired attachment:

–For long hair and large curls, use the large styling brush 4.

–For shorter hair or small curls, use the small styling brush 8.

■ Wind the slightly damp strand of hair around the selected

styling brush 4/8.

■ Turn the appliance on to level 1 or 2.

■ When the strand is dry, slide the level switch 3 to "C".

Wait until the strand has cooled.

■ Press the roll-out button 2 and simultaneously pull the appli-

ance downwards out of the strand. The styling brush 4/8

rotates with it to assist in unwinding the strand more easily.

■ Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Tips for the perfect hairstyle

■ Only style your hair when it is already almost dry.

■ Divide your hair into individual strands for more volume.

■ You will achieve additional volume by starting to dry your hair

at the hairline and working down towards the ends.

■ Let your hair cool down suﬃciently before combing it out.

Cleaning and maintenance

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Before cleaning the appliance, always disconnect the power cord

from the power socket. There is a risk electric shock!

Allow the appliance to cool suﬃciently before cleaning it. Risk of

Burns!

Do not use any aggressive, abrasive or chemical cleaning agents!

They could damage the upper surfaces of the appliance.

■ Clean the appliance only with a lightly damp cloth.

■ Allow the appliance to dry completely before using it again or

before storing it.

■ If necessary, wipe the styling brushes 4/8 with a damp cloth.

■ Clean the air intake ﬁlter 7 frequently with a soft brush.

Storage

■ You can also hang the appliance up by the suspension hook 5.

■ Store the appliance in a clean and dry location.

What does this warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

▯ Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.

▯ Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow

the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user

manual.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

▯ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts

(such as switches, glass, etc.);

▯ Improper use or transport;

▯ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;

▯ Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, ﬁre, water, etc.);

▯ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing

screws etc.)

Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under

this warranty. However, some states do not allow the exclusion or

limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation

Información importante sobre el cable

Nunca use este dispositivo cerca de regaderas, tinas de

baño u otros contenedores de agua. La proximidad al

agua representa un riesgo, aun cuando el dispositivo esté

apagado. Para protección adicional, se recomienda instalar una

unidad de interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra (GFCI) con una

clasiﬁcación de energía de activación no mayor de 30mA para

SERVICIO DE DISPOSITIVOS CON DOBLE AISLAMIENTO

Eliminación del empaque

Colocación de accesorios

■ Coloque el accesorio deseado en la ranura de inserción del

accesorio 1 y gírelo ligeramente hasta que se ﬁje en su lugar

con un clic.

Remoción de accesorios:

■ Primero apague el dispositivo y deje que se enfríe.

■ Extraiga el accesorio de la ranura de inserción del accesorio 1.

Conexión a la fuente de alimentación

Este dispositivo está equipado con un conector de seguridad q,

el cual contiene un interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra (GFCI).

Si el dispositivo funciona mal (al entrar en contacto con agua, por

ejemplo), el GFCI cambia a la posición apagado y el dispositivo

deja de tener energía.

Si el interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra en el

conector de seguridad q deja de funcionar, descontinúe el uso. Desen-

chufe el conector de seguridad q y póngase en contacto con el depar-

tamento de Servicio al Cliente.

Recomendamos probar el conector de seguridad q antes de

cada uso para asegurarse de que funcione perfectamente:

1) Enchufe el conector de seguridad q en una toma de corriente.

Asegúrese de que la corriente de la toma eléctrica coincida

con el voltaje especiﬁcado en la etiqueta.

2) Ahora presione el botón para probar "Test" 0. El botón para

restablecer "Reset" 9 sobresaldrá un poco más del conector

de seguridad q.

Ahora, el dispositivo no puede encenderse de nuevo.

El interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra está funcionando.

3) Presione el botón para restablecer "Reset" 9 para que se

inserte nuevamente en su lugar.

Ahora puede usar el dispositivo.

Encendido y apagado | Selección del nivel de

calor

■ Cuando haya insertado el accesorio deseado y conectado la

clavija en la toma de corriente, puede encender el dispositivo

con el interruptor de nivel 3 y seleccionar el nivel de salida:

–"OFF" El dispositivo está apagado

–"C" para corriente de aire frío (disparo frío)

– "1" para corriente de aire cálido

– "2" para corriente de aire caliente

■ Apague el dispositivo al mover el interruptor de nivel 3 a la

posición "OFF" (= dispositivo apagado).

■ Para ﬁjar el peinado, puede cambiar el interruptor de nivel 3

a "C". La corriente de aire frío ﬁjará el peinado.

Peinado

Seleccione el accesorio deseado:

–Para cabello y rizos largos, use el cepillo grande de peina-

do 4.

–Para cabello más corto o rizos pequeños, use el cepillo

pequeño de peinado 8.

■ Enrolle el mechón ligeramente humedecido en el cepillo de

peinado seleccionado 4/8.

■ Encienda el dispositivo en el nivel 1 o 2.

■ Cuando el mechón esté seco, cambie el interruptor de nivel 3

a "C". Espere hasta que el mechón se enfríe.

■ Presione el botón de rolado 2 y al mismo tiempo jale el dis-

positivo hacia fuera del mechón. El cepillo de peinado 4/8

rota con este para ayudar a desenrollar el mechón con más

facilidad.

■ Proceda con los demás mechones de la misma forma.

Consejos para un peinado perfecto

■ Peine su cabello solamente cuando esté casi seco.

■ Divida el cabello en mechones individuales para obtener más

volumen.

■ Obtendrá volumen adicional si comienza a secar el cabello

desde la raíz y luego avanza hacia las puntas.

■ Deje que el cabello se enfríe lo suﬁciente para empezar a

peinarlo.

Limpieza y mantenimiento
