shielded from external RF (radio
frequency) energy. DECT features
operate between 1.92 GHz and
1.93 GHz with a peak transmission
power of 115 mW.
R Do not use the product in health
care facilities if any regulations
posted in the area instruct you not to
do so. Hospitals or health care
facilities may be using equipment
that could be sensitive to external
RF energy.

plywood less than 25 mm (1 inch)
thick.

se only the battery noted on
page 3.
R Insert the battery correctly.
R Do not leave the battery in an
automobile exposed to direct
sunlight for a long period of time with
the doors and windows closed.
R Remove the battery if you do not
use the product for a long period of
time. Keep it in a cool, dark area.
R Do not replace a battery with wet
hands.
R Keep out of the reach of small
children. There is a risk of
swallowing. If the battery is
swallowed, seek medical attention
immediately.
R Remove the battery if it becomes
unusable. There is a risk of leakage,
overheating, and rupture. Do not
attempt to use a battery if it is

eaking.
R Exercise care when handling the
battery. Do not allow conductive
materials such as rings, bracelets, or
keys to touch the battery, otherwise
a short circuit may cause the battery
and/or the conductive material to
overheat and cause burns.
R Do not intentionally pour water on
the battery or allow it to get wet.
There is a risk of fire and smoke. If
the battery becomes wet, remove it
immediately and contact an
authorized service center.
R The battery should be used
correctly, otherwise the product may
be damaged due to battery leakage.
R Do not charge, short-circuit,
disassemble, or heat the battery.
R Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.

1. Do not use this product near water
for example, near a bathtub,

Hub location/avoiding noise
T
he hub and other compatible
Panasonic devices use radio waves to
communicate with each other.
R For maximum coverage and
noise-free communications, place
your hub:
– at a convenient, high, and central
location with no obstructions
between the product and hub in
an indoor environment.
– away from electronic appliances
such as TVs, radios, personal
computers, wireless devices, or
other phones.
– facing away from radio frequency
transmitters, such as external
antennas of mobile phone cell
stations. (Avoid putting the hub
on a bay window or near a
window.)
R If the reception for a hub location is
not satisfactory, move the hub to
another location for better reception.
Environment
R Keep the product away from
electrical noise generating devices,
such as fluorescent lamps and
motors.
R Do not place heavy objects on top of
the product.
R The product should be kept away
from heat sources such as heaters,
kitchen stoves, etc. It should not be
placed in rooms where the
temperature is less than -20 °C
(-4 °F) or greater than 50 °C
(122 °F). Damp basements should
also be avoided.

product with a soft moist cloth.
R Do not use any cleaning products
that contain alcohol, polish powder,

petroleum, or boiling water. Also do
not spray the product with
insecticide, glass cleaner, or hair
spray. This may cause a change in
color or quality of the product.

Setup overview
1 Initial setup
Make sure you can access the
system using your mobile device.
For details, refer to the System
Setup Guide included with your
hub.
2 Insert the battery
The sensor is battery powered.
3 Registration
Required only if the sensor was
purchased separately (i.e., not as
part of a bundle).
4 Confirm the installation area
Read the information in this
document to confirm that the
desired installation area is suitable
to proper operation.
5 Installation
Install the sensor in the desired
location.

Replacing the battery
Use this procedure when replacing the
battery after installation.
1 Remove the sensor from the
mounting adaptor by pressing the
release lever, sliding the sensor up
and lifting it away from the
mounting adaptor.
2 Remove the front cover.
3 Replace the battery with a new
one.
4 Attach the front cover.
5 Attach the sensor to the mounting
adaptor.
R The sensor will click into place
when it is secured.
R Make sure the “UP” marks on
the back of the sensor and the
inside of the mounting adaptor
point in the same direction.
Registering the

ensor
This procedure is not required for
d
evices that were included as part of
a bundle.
Before you can use the sensor, it must

e registered to the hub.
If you purchased devices separately
(i.e., not as part of a bundle), you must
register each device to the hub.
You can register each device by using
the registration buttons or the [Home
Network] app.
Using registration buttons

Information about
sensor features
The garage door sensor utilizes an
accelerometer to detect its orientation.
Please read the following information
before deciding where to install the
garage door sensor.
Note:
R The sensor is not designed to be
used in situations that require high
reliability. We do not recommend
use of the sensor in these situations.
R Panasonic takes no responsibility for
any injury or damage caused by the
use of the garage door sensor.

How an open door is detected
T
he sensor is installed by mounting it to
the interior-side of your garage door. It
should be mounted in such a way that
it is perpendicular to the ground when
the garage door is closed, and is tilted
when the garage door is opened.
When the garage door has opened far
enough to tilt the sensor beyond the
detection threshold (page 17), the
sensor is triggered.
Note:
R The sensor is not triggered if the
door is opened slightly.

Confirming the
usage area
Wireless communication
r
ange
The wireless communication range of
each device in the system from the hub
is approximately 50 m (160 feet)
indoors and approximately 300 m
(1,000 feet) outdoors. Wireless
communication may be unreliable
when the following obstacles are
located between the hub and other
devices.
R Metal doors or screens
R Walls containing aluminum-sheet
insulation
R Walls made of concrete or
corrugated iron
R Double-pane glass windows
R Multiple walls
R When using each device on
separate floors or in different
buildings
Note:
R You can check the sensor’s
communication status by pressing
M
N.
If the LED indicator is lit in
green or red, the sensor is
communicating properly with the
hub. If the LED indicator blinks in
red, it is out of range of the hub.
Usage area cautions

sing the sensor in the following areas
may cause deformation, malfunction, or
operational failure.
R In direct sunlight
R Areas exposed to grease or steam,
such as kitchens
R N
ear fire or heating devices
R Near magnetic fields (such as near
microwaves and magnets)
R Areas subject to extreme
temperature changes, such as next
to air conditioners
R Near devices that emit strong radio
waves, such as mobile phones

Mounting the sensor
In most cases, you can mount the
sensor to the garage door using
double-sided tape. In some cases,
such as when mounting the sensor to a
wooden surface, you can use screws.
Installation precautions
R O
bserve the following to avoid the
risk of falling, which could cause
injury or damage to property.
– Mount the sensor on a stable
surface where the sensor will be
adequately supported.
– Do not mount the sensor on
plywood less than 25.4 mm
(1 inch) thick.
R Install the sensor on the inside of the
garage door.
R Mount the sensor near the top of the
garage door. Additionally, we
recommend mounting the sensor
near the left or right edge of the
garage door, so that the sensor is
not directly above the car when the
garage door is open.
Securing with double-sided
tape
Important:
R Make sure the surfaces of the
mounting adaptor and the
installation area of the garage door
are clean and dry before applying
double-sided tape. Take particular
care to remove any oil or grime that
has accumulated on the garage
door.
R Install the sensor on a smooth area
of the garage door. Ideally there
should be no pits or grooves deeper
than 0.5 mm (0.02 inches).
R Once you have used the
double-sided tape, do not reuse it.
R When mounting the sensor in cold
temperatures, observe the following
to ensure optimal adhesion.
– Affix the double-sided tape to the
mounting adaptor indoors, when
the tape and the adaptor are at
room temperature.
– Use a hair dryer or other low-heat
emitting device to warm the
installation surface of the garage
door immediately prior to
adhesion, otherwise adhesion
may be poor and the sensor may
fall.

2 Pull the thread tight and use it to
cut the double-sided tape, and
then remove any excess tape (A).

[Home Network] app
Some of the sensor’s features that are
available when using the [Home
Network] app are listed below. For
more information, refer to the User’s

– Alarm system
You can use the app to receive
notifications when the garage door is
opened or left open, arm and disarm
the alarm system, confirm the
current status of the sensor, and
view a log of previous events.
– Sensor integration
You can configure the sensor to
trigger other system events, such as
camera recording, turning on an
electric device (such as a lamp), etc.

– Telephone alert
You can configure the system to call
a preprogrammed phone number
when the sensor is triggered.

If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship,
Panasonic Corporation of North America (referred to as “the warrantor”) will, for the length
of the period indicated on the chart below, which starts with the date of original purchase
(“warranty period”), at its option either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts,
(b) replace it with a new or a refurbished equivalent value product, or (c) refund your
purchase price. The decision to repair, replace or refund will be made by the warrantor.
During the “Labor” warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During the “Parts”
warranty period, there will be no charge for parts. This Limited Warranty excludes both
parts and labor for non-rechargeable batteries, antennas, and cosmetic parts (cabinet).
This warranty only applies to products purchased and serviced in the United States.

Cómo reemplazar la batería
Use este procedimiento cuando reemplace
la batería luego de la instalación.
1 Quite el sensor del adaptador de
montaje al oprimir la palanca de
liberación, deslizar el sensor hacia
arriba y levantarlo del adaptador de
montaje.
2 Quite la tapa frontal.
3 Cambie la batería por una nueva.
4 Coloque la tapa frontal.
5 Coloque el sensor en el adaptador de
montaje.
R El sensor se fijará en su lu
gar
cuando esté asegurado.
R Asegúrese de que las marcas “UP”
de la parte trasera del sensor y del
interior del adaptador de montaje
apunten en la misma dirección.
Registro del sensor
Este procedimiento no es necesario para
unidades que son parte de un paquete.
Antes de poder usar el sensor, debe
registrarlo en el hub.
Si compró los dispositivos por separado (es
decir, no como parte de un paquete), debe
registrar cada dispositivo en el hub.
Puede registrar cada unidad mediante los
botones de registro o la aplicación [Home
Network].
Uso de los botones de registro
1 Hub:
Oprima y mantenga oprimido M
OTHER DEVICEN hasta que el Led
indicador parpadee lentamente en
verde.
2 Sensor:
Quite la tapa frontal y mantenga

R Cuando se ha completado el

Nota:
R Para cancelar sin registrar el sensor,

N en el hub y en el sensor

R Si el registro falla, el hub emitirá varios
pitidos cortos.
Uso de la aplicación

Información acerca de
las características del
sensor
El sensor de la puerta del garaje utiliza un
acelerómetro para detectar la orientación.
Lea la información siguiente antes de
decidir dónde instalar el sensor de la puerta
del garaje.
Nota:
R El sensor no está diseñado para usarse
en situaciones que requieran alta
confiabilidad. No recomendamos el uso
del sensor en estas situaciones.
R Panasonic no asume ningu

Cómo se detecta una puerta abierta
Para instalar el sensor, es necesario
montarlo en el lado interior de la puerta del
garaje. Se debe montar de manera que
quede perpendicular al suelo cuando se
cierra la puerta del garaje, y que se incline
cuando ésta se abre.
Cuando la puerta del garaje se abre lo
suficiente como para inclinar el sensor más
allá del umbral de detección, el sensor se
activa.
Nota:
R El sensor no se activa si la puerta se
abre suavemente.

de uso
Alcance de la comunicación
inalámbrica
El alcance de la comunicación inalámbrica
de cada dispositivo en el sistema del hub
es de aproximadamente 50 m (160 pies) en
interiores y de aproximadamente 300 m
(1,000 pies) en el exterior. Es posible que la
comunicación inalámbrica no sea tan
confiable cuando se encuentran los
obstáculos siguientes entre el hub y otros
dispositivos.
R Puertas o pantallas metálicas
R Par
edes que contengan aislamiento de
aluminio
R Paredes de hormigón o hierro corrugado
R Ventanas de vidrio doble
R Varias paredes
R Cuando los dispositivos están en pisos o
edificios diferentes
Nota:
R Puede verificar el estado de la
comunicación del sensor presionando

N. Si el Led indicador está
iluminado en verde o rojo, el sensor se
está comunicando de forma adecuada
con el hub. Si el Led indicador parpadea
en rojo, se encuentra fuera de alcance
del hub.
Precauciones respecto al área
de uso
El uso del sensor en las siguientes áreas
puede causar deformación, averías o fallas
de operación.

como en cocinas

R Cerca de campos magnéticos (como
cerca de hornos microondas e imanes)

Montaje del sensor
En la mayoría de los casos, es posible
montar el sensor en la puerta del garaje
con cinta de doble cara. En algunos casos,
como cuando se monta el sensor en una
superficie de madera, se pueden usar
tornillos.
Precauciones de instalación
R Siga estas instrucciones para evitar el
riesgo de caída, el cual puede causar
lesiones o daños en la propiedad.
– Monte el sensor sobre una superficie
estable, donde se pueda sostener
correctamente.
– No monte el sensor sobre una
superficie contrachapada que tenga
menos de 25.4 mm (1 pulgada) de
grosor.
R Instale el sensor en el interior de la
puerta del garaje.
R Monte el sensor cerca
de la parte
superior de la puerta del garaje.
Además, recomendamos montar el
sensor cerca del borde izquierdo o
derecho de la puerta del garaje, de
modo que el sensor no quede arriba del
auto cuando se abre la puerta.
Ajuste con cinta adhesiva de
doble cara
Importante:
R Antes de colocar la cinta adhesiva de
doble cara, asegúrese de que las
superficies del adaptador de montaje y
el área de instalación de la puerta del
garaje estén limpias y secas. Tenga
especial cuidado y quite el aceite o la
suciedad que se haya acumulado en la
puerta del garaje.
R Instale el sensor en una superficie suave
de la puerta del garaje. Lo ideal
es que
no haya hendiduras ni ranuras de más
de 0.5 mm (0.02 pulgadas) de
profundidad.
R Una vez que haya utilizado la cinta de
doble cara, no la vuelva a utilizar.
R Si monta el el sensor cuando la
temperatura es baja, siga estas
instrucciones para asegurar una
adhesión óptima.
– Una vez que la cinta y el adaptador
estén a temperatura ambiente, fije la
cinta de doble cara en la parte del
adaptador de montaje que queda en
el interior.
– Antes de colocar la cinta, use un
secador de pelo u otro dispositivo
que emita calor para calentar la
superficie de instalación de la puerta
del garaje; de lo contrario, es posible
que la adhesión no sea buena y el
sensor se caiga.

1 Asegúrese de que la tapa frontal y el
adaptador de montaje estén
firmemente adheridos al sensor.
2 Coloque la cinta de doble cara en el
adaptador de montaje.
R Asegúrese de que la cinta cubra
los hoyos de los tornillos en el
adaptador de montaje.
3 Coloque el sensor en la parte interior
de la puerta del garaje.
R Asegúrese de que la palanca de
activación del adaptador de
montaje apunte hacia abajo
cuando se cierra la puerta del
garaje.
R Presione con firmeza para
asegurar una adhesión sólida a la
superficie de instalación.
Cómo extraer cuando se asegura con
cinta adhesiva de doble cara
1 Ate un pedazo de hilo a dos palos,
destornilladores, etc.
2 Tire firmemente del hilo y úselo para
cortar la cinta de doble cara, y luego
elimine cualquier exceso de cinta (A).
