OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do
not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
This flat iron is intended for household use. Use
on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. This unit is
designed to be operated at 120 volts AC.
NOTE: Do not use this styling appliance on
hair extensions.
WARNING: The flat iron’s titanium plates will
get very hot within a few seconds and should
not come into contact with the skin after the
flat iron has been turned on.

Your flat iron has a plate designed with a little
give, to “float.” This provides better contact
with hair, eliminating gaps, for straighter
results. The easy-glide titanium surface is
one of the latest – and best – technological
advances in hair appliances. The even heat
distribution produces the ultimate in silky,
shiny, healthy-looking hair. You’ll find that hair
glides easily over the surface of the plates
as you’re straightening, and that it is easier

GETTING STARTED
Hair should be clean and completely dry before
using the flat iron. Plug the flat iron into an
electrical outlet. To turn on unit, press ON/OFF
button. Select desired temperature setting.
To turn off unit, press ON/OFF button again. Never
leave your flat iron on and unattended. However,
should you fail to turn the unit off, it will shut itself
off automatically within 60 minutes.
HOW TO USE THE PRESS SWITCHES
Press the main ON/OFF button to turn the flat
iron on. Press the LOCK/UNLOCK button to
lock in the temperature setting.
HOW TO USE THE TOUCH SWITCH
The touch switch has three options: +, – and
M. The + raises the temperature, the – lowers
the temperature and M recalls the last
temperature preset by the user. After you turn
on the unit, if no selection is made after 5
seconds, the keys will automatically lock and
the lock symbol will appear on the display. In
order to proceed, press the LOCK/UNLOCK
button.
HOW TO SET/LOCK IN THE TEMPERATURE
1. When you turn the flat iron on, the default
temp is 320ºF. To go to a higher temperature,
ensure Lock button is off and lightly touch the
+ button.
2. Select your desired temperature. The LCD
will blink 3 times, the desired temperature will
be auto locked at the same time the LOCK
symbol appears on the display. It will then
show the real plate temperature. The number
will become solid when the desired
temperature is reached.
3. To manually lock the temperature setting,
simply press the LOCK/UNLOCK button after
you have selected the temperature. The lock
symbol will appear on the display.
To change the temperature, you must press
the LOCK/UNLOCK button first.

enchufe polarizado (una pata es más ancha

PLACA FLOTANTE &
REVESTIMIENTO DE TITANIO DE FÁCIL
DESLIZAMIENTO
Su nueva plancha alisadora cuenta con
una placa “flotante” que asegura un mejor
contacto con el cabello, produciendo
resultados más lisos. El revestimiento
de titanio de fácil deslizamiento es lo

FUNCIONAMIENTO BÁSICO
El cabello debe estar limpio y seco. Conecte
el cable a una toma de corriente. Para
encender el aparato, oprima el botón ON/
OFF. Elija la temperatura deseada.
Para apagar el aparato, oprima el botón
ON/OFF otra vez. Nunca descuide/deje el
aparato sin vigilancia después de encenderlo.
Para su seguridad, el aparato se apagará
automáticamente después de 60 minutos.
FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LOS BOTONES
Oprima el botón ON/OFF para encender el
aparato. Oprima el botón LOCK/UNLOCK para

FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL PANEL DE CONTROL

El panel de control táctil cuenta con tres

CÓMO PROGRAMAR/BLOQUEAR LA
TEMPERATURA
1. La temperatura por defecto, que aparece
en la pantalla al encender el aparato, es
320 °F (160 °C). Para subir la temperatura,
cerciórese de que el botón LOCK/UNLOCK
está apagado y toque suavemente el
botón +.
2. Elija la temperatura deseada. La pantalla
LCD parpadeará 3 veces y la temperatura se
bloqueará al mismo tiempo que el candado
cerrado aparecerá en la pantalla. Luego, la
pantalla mostrará la temperatura actual de
las placas. Cuando el aparato alcance la
temperatura deseada, la pantalla dejará de
parpadear.
3. Para bloquear manualmente la
temperatura, oprima el botón LOCK/UNLOCK
después de haber elegido la temperatura. El
candado aparecerá en la pantalla.

Your flat iron is virtually maintenance free. No
lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and open-
ings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning becomes
necessary, disconnect the unit from the power
source, allow to cool and wipe exterior with a
cloth. If any abnormal condition occurs, unplug
the unit, allow it to cool, and return it for repair
to an authorized service representative only. No
repairs should be attempted by the consumer.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be
pulled, twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap
the cord tightly around the appliance. Damage
will occur at the high flex point of entry into
the appliance, causing it to rupture and short
circuit. Inspect the cord frequently for damage.
Stop use immediately if damage is visible or if
unit stops or operates intermittently.
STORAGE
When not in use, your flat iron is easy to store.
Allow appliance to cool, then simply store out
of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Do
not jerk or strain cord at plug connections.
Do not wrap the line cord around the appliance.
Allow the cord to hang or lie loose and straight
at the point of entry into the appliance.

Conair will repair or replace (at our option) your
unit free of charge for 60 months from the
date of purchase if the appliance is defective in
workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the
defective product to the service center listed
on back, together with your purchase receipt
and $7.50 for postage and handling. California
residents need only provide proof of purchase
and should call 1-800-3-CONAIR for shipping
instructions. In the absence of a purchase
receipt, the warranty period shall be 60 months
from the date of manufacture.

MEMORY TOUCH BUTTON
To set the memory temperature:
1. First unlock by pressing the LOCK/UNLOCK
button. Then, press and hold the M button for
more than 1 second – the LCD will blink and
once it stops, the selected temp will
be memorized. For example: Select 428ºF,
press and hold M for several seconds. The
display will flash “428” three times. When the
number becomes solid, the temperature is
memorized and the lock symbol will appear
on the screen.
2. To reset the memory, unlock and repeat
Step 1 and set to the desired temperature.

TO STRAIGHTEN HAIR
Hair should be clean and completely dry
before using the flat iron. For best results,
use a light styling product before blow-drying
hair.
1. Start with a hair section that is 1½ inches
wide and no more than ½ inch thick.
2. Open the iron and place the hair section
between the two hot plates, close to the
scalp. Trap hair between the plates by firmly
squeezing the handles together.
3. While maintaining the tension, slowly pull
the unit down along the hair section toward
the ends. At the ends, release the pressure
on the handle and allow the hair to slide out.
4. Repeat the process on additional sections
of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you
desire. It may be necessary to repeat the
process on certain areas, depending on the
texture of your hair.
Some experience is necessary when learn-
ing to use this flat iron. After using the iron
several times, you will learn the ideal way to
straighten and style your hair.

Cómo guardar la temperatura en la memoria:
1. Primero, oprima el botón
LOCK/UNLOCK.

“428” parpadeará en la pantalla tres veces.
Cuando deje de parpadear, la temperatura
estará guardada en la memoria y el candado
aparecerá en la pantalla.
2. Para reiniciar la memoria, oprima el botón
LOCK/UNLOCK y repita el paso 1 para
programar otra temperatura.

PARA ALISAR EL CABELLO
El cabello debe estar limpio y seco. Para
obtener resultados óptimos, aplique una
loción fijadora ligera en el cabello antes de
secarlo.
1. Divida el cabello en secciones de 1½
pulgadas (4 cm) de ancho por ½ pulgada
(1.5 cm) o menos de espesor.
2. Coloque el aparato cerca del cuero
cabelludo. Abra las placas y coloque una
sección de cabello entre ellas. Cierre las
placas.
3. Baje la plancha lentamente hasta las
puntas, manteniendo las placas bien
cerradas. Suelte el cabello tras llegar a las
puntas.
4. Repita el proceso en cada sección de
cabello, hasta conseguir el estilo deseado.
Dependiendo de la textura del cabello, puede
que sea necesario repetir el proceso varias
veces en algunas secciones.
Será necesario experimentar un poco al
principio. Con práctica, encontrará la manera
perfecta para peinar su cabello fácil y
rápidamente.
