□This light xture should be installed outdoors to a

wall, eave, gutter, or post.

□The light xture should be mounted approximately

8 ft. (2.4 m) above the ground.

□Do not cut the solar panel wire. Discontinue use if

the wire becomes frayed or broken.

□Do not immerse components in liquid.

□Do not use any other charging device other than

the single solar charging panel provided with this

light. Doing so may result in injury or damage to

the light and voids any warranty.

□Position the cord so that it is securely fastened and

will not result in a hazard (such as tripping).

This product is guaranteed to be free of factory defective parts and workmanship for a period of 3 years from date

of purchase. Purchase receipt is required for all warranty claims.

This guarantee does not include repair service, adjustment and calibration due to misuse, abuse or negligence, or

LEDs. Unauthorized service or modication of the product or of any furnished component will void this warranty in

its entirety. This warranty does not include reimbursement for inconvenience, installation, setup time, loss of use,

unauthorized service, or return shipping charges. This warranty is not extended to other equipment and components

Pre-Installation

PLANNING INSTALLATION

Before installing the light xture, ensure that all parts are present. Compare parts with the Hardware Included and

Package Contents sections. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or operate this

light xture.

Estimated installation time: 30 minutes

INITIAL BATTERY CHARGE

IMPORTANT: The solar panel requires full, direct sunlight to charge the battery. Clouds, rain, snow, and other weather

conditions may not allow the solar panel to completely recharge the battery. Other obstructions such as buildings or

trees may block the sun as well.

When installing the solar panel, make sure it is aimed as described below with a minimum amount of obstructions. If

possible, mount the panel facing toward the southern sky.

□

PRIOR TO USE, the battery will require 2 to 5 days of full sun to completely charge with the control dial in

the OFF position.

Plug the solar panel cable into the connector extending from the side of

the light xture. If possible, aim the solar panel toward the south and tilt it approximately

50° from horizontal. If the solar panel cannot be aimed toward the south, then tilt the

panel approximately 30° if possible.

□Actual operating time will vary depending upon how frequently the light is turned on by

the motion sensor.

□Solar lighting is not designed to equal standard 120V lighting. The amount of light output

is reduced to allow the sun time to fully recharge the battery between lighting cycles.

□Solar collection is only effective in direct sunlight. Every hour the light is on requires

a minimum of 16 hours of sunlight charging. Solar panels collect less than 10% of the

sun’s energy.

MOUNTING LOCATION

The most important thing to remember for the operation of your solar powered motion sensing light is that it works

from the power received from direct sunlight. The more direct sunlight the solar panel receives in a day, the longer

the light will operate.

SOLAR LIGHT FIXTURE

The main unit contains the LEDs and motion sensor. When deciding where to mount this unit, keep in mind that the

motion sensor that activates the light has a “eld of vision” of 40 feet (12 meters) in front of the light and about

180° detection angle at a surrounding air temperature of 77° F (25 °C).

SOLAR PANEL

The solar panel converts the sun’s energy into electricity, thus charging the battery stored in the solar panel. The

solar panel requires direct sunlight falling onto the face of the solar panel for as long as possible over the course of

the day.

When choosing the location for the solar panel, make sure it is aimed toward the south and is tilted to a suitable

angle to allow as much direct sunlight to fall upon it as possible. Make sure there is a minimum amount of

obstructions between the solar panel and the sun.

Also, make sure your solar panel location is not too far away from the solar light xture for the wires to reach and

connect.

1 Determining the mounting

location

NOTE: The light xture should be mounted approximately

8 ft. (2.4 m) above the ground.

NOTE: Ensure the xture and the solar panel are located

close enough together for the cord to reach.

This light xture has been designed to mount to

multiple surfaces. Choose the desired location

and then the mounting method that is best for that

location.

□Determine the mounting surface – wall, eave,

gutter, or post mount.

□Position the lamp head (A) in the general

direction of the desired light coverage.

2 Setting the sensor for wall,

gutter, post, or eave mounting

□For wall, gutter, or post mounting, turn the

ring(1) around the sensor (C) clockwise until

the “W” and the single indicator is aligned with

the mark on the front of the sensor (C).

□For eave mounting, turn the ring (1) around the

sensor (C) counterclockwise until the “E” and

the double indicator is aligned with the mark

on the front of the sensor (C).

Installing the light fixture

This light xture (B) has been designed to mount

to multiple surfaces. Choose the desired location

and then the mounting method that is best for that

location.

□Wall or eave mount - proceed to step 3.

□Gutter mount - proceed to step 4, page 8.

□Post mount - proceed to step 5, page 8.

3 Installing the light fixture to a

wall or eave

NOTE: Make sure there is enough vertical space above

the mounting plate to allow the light xture to be mounted.

□Place the mounting plate (F) against the

mounting surface and ensure the mounting

plate (F) is level. Mark the hole locations.

□If mounting to a wooden surface, drill two

3/32 in. holes into the mounting surface.

Install the two mounting screws (AA)

through the mounting plate (F) and into

the mounting surface.

□If mounting to wall board or brick, drill two

7/32 in. holes into the mounting surface.

Insert the wall anchors (BB) and attach the

mounting plate (F) using the two mounting

screws (AA).

□Slide the rear of the light xture (B) down onto

the mounting plate (F) until it snaps into place.

To remove the light (B) from the mounting plate (F),

press the tab (2) on the bottom of the mounting plate

(F) and slide the light (B) off.

4 Installing the light fixture to

the gutter

NOTE: Make sure there is enough vertical space above

the mounting plate to allow the light xture to be mounted.

□Align the slide mounts on the back of the

mounting plate (F) with the slide mounts on

the gutter mount bracket (G).

□Slide the two pieces together until a “snap”

sound is heard.

□Slide the rear of the light xture (B) down onto

the mounting plate (F) until it snaps into place.

□Slide the gutter mount bracket (G) over the

edge of the gutter.

To remove the gutter mount bracket (G) from the

mounting plate (F), slide the two pieces apart.

5 Installing the light fixture to a

post

NOTE: Make sure there is enough vertical space above

the mounting plate to allow the light xture to be mounted.

□Slide the zip tie (CC) through the slots on the

side of the mounting plate (F).

□Wrap the zip tie (CC) around a post ensuring

that the words “THIS SIDE OUT” on the

mounting plate (F) is facing away from the

post. Tighten the zip tie/mounting plate (CC/F)

securely to the post.

□Slide the rear of the light xture (B) down onto

the mounting plate (F) until it snaps into place.

To remove the zip tie (CC) from the mounting plate(F),

press the tab on the zip tie (CC) to release the zip

tie(CC). Slide the zip tie (CC) out of the mounting

plate(F).

6 Mounting the solar panel

IMPORTANT: Caulk around the base and on top of the screw heads

after installation.

NOTE: Wrap any excess solar panel cable around the

cord management system (3) located on the rear of the

solar panel base. Leave enough loose cable to form a drip

loop (4).

□Place the solar panel (H) against the mounting

surface ensuring that the arrow is pointing up

and mark the mounting holes.

□If mounting to a wooden surface, drill two

3/32 in. holes into the mounting surface.

Install the two mounting screws (AA)

through the base and into the mounting

surface.

□If mounting to wall board or brick, drill two

7/32 in. holes into the mounting surface.

Insert the wall anchors (BB) and attach the

base using the two mounting screws(AA).

7 Adjusting the solar panel

□Rotate the solar panel (H) to the desired angle.

IMPORTANT: The solar panel must receive as much direct sunlight

over the course of the day as possible. Keep in mind that shadows

may block the sunlight from reaching the solar panel during the day.

8 Connecting the solar panel to

the light fixture

□Carefully route the solar panel (H) cable to the

light xture (B). Insert the end of the cable into

the cable from the side of the light xture(B).

□Leave enough loose cable to form a drip

loop(4).

IMPORTANT: Turn the control dial (D) on the side of the sensor to

the OFF position and allow the battery to charge with 2 to 5 days of

full sunshine before testing.

Operation

1 Adjusting the lamp head

□If needed, gently grasp the lamp head (A) and

tilt it up or down or side to side to adjust the

light coverage area.

2 Determining the motion sensor

NOTE: When the control dial is set to the “TEST” position,

the light will operate during the day or night. The light will

stay on for 5 seconds after all motion is stopped.

NOTE: The motion sensor will need to completely warm

up (up to 30 seconds) before beginning the setup process.

□Turn the control dial (D) to the TEST position.

□Turn the sensitivity dial (E) to the “L” position.

□Perform a “walk test”: walk in an arc across

the front of the motion sensor (C).

□Watch the light (B). The light (B) will come on

indicating motion has been detected.

□Stop, wait for the light (B) to turn off, and then

begin walking again.

□Continue this process until the detection zone

has been established.

3 Adjusting the sensitivity

□If needed during the “walk test”, turn the

sensitivity dial (E) to the desired sensitivity

(“L”, “M”, “H”).

NOTE: The motion sensor is more sensitive to motion

moving across the front of the sensor. The motion sensor is

less sensitive to motion moving directly toward the sensor.

NOTE: The higher the sensitivity setting, the greater the

possibility of false triggering. To reduce false triggering,

turn the sensitivity dial to the “L” or “M” position.

4 Adjusting the light timer

NOTE: The light timer controls the amount of time the

light will stay on full bright after all motion has stopped.

The timer is preset to 60 seconds.

□Turn the control dial (D) to the “60S” (60

second) position for the light (B) to operate

automatically at night.

5 Using the OFF control

If the light (B) will not be used for several weeks, turn

the unit OFF. Store it with the panel connected and

where the panel can gather sunlight.

□Turn the control dial (D) to the OFF position

to turn the light (B) off and to conserve the

battery life.

Care and Cleaning

□To prolong the original appearance, clean the light xture with clear water and a soft, damp cloth only.

□Periodically clean the solar panel with a soft cloth and warm water. Do not hose spray. Keep the panel clear of

snow and leaves. Make sure trees and other objects do not block sunlight from the panel.

□Do not use paints, solvents, or other chemicals on this light xture or solar panel. They could cause a

premature deterioration of the nish. This is not a defect in the nish and will not be covered by the warranty.

□Do not spray the light xture with a hose or power washer.

□If not to be used for several weeks, turn the unit OFF. Store it with the panel connected and where the panel

can gather sunlight.

greater than 122° F (50° C) or less

than 32° F (0° C).

□The light will operate normally inside

the specied temperature range.

The light comes on during

the day.

□The light xture is installed in a

dark location.

□Relocate the light xture to an area

that receives more light.

□The control dial is in the TEST

position.

□Turn the control dial to the 60S timer

or to the OFF position.

The light comes on for no

apparent reason.

□The motion sensor may be sens-

ing small animals or automobile

trafc.

□Reposition the light so the motion

sensor is positioned away from the

area of movement.

□The sensitivity dial may be set

to high.

□Reduce the sensitivity to the “M” or

“L” position.

There is a red blinking light

CARGA INICIAL DE LA BATERÍA

IMPORTANTE: El panel solar requiere luz de sol directa y total para cargar la batería. Condiciones climatológicas como

1 Determinación del sitio de

montaje

NOTA: Esta lámpara debe ser instalada aproximadamente

a 8 pies (2,4 m) por encima del suelo.

NOTA: Asegúrese que el aparato y el panel solar se

encuentren lo sucientemente juntos para que el cable

los alcance.

Esta lámpara ha sido diseñada para ser montada en

2 Configuración del sensor para

Instalación de la lámpara

Esta lámpara ha sido diseñada para ser montada en

múltiples supercies. Elija el lugar deseado y luego el

método de montaje que sea mejor para ese lugar.

□Montaje en pared o alero: continúe con el paso 3.

□Montaje en canalón - continúe con el paso 4,

página 22.

3 Instalación de la lámpara en

una pared o alero

NOTA: Esté seguro que haya suciente espacio vertical

por encima de la placa de montaje que permita montar

la lámpara.

□Coloque la placa de montaje (F) contra la

supercie de montaje y asegúrese de que la

placa de montaje (F) esté nivelada. Marque los

sitios para los oricios.

□Si se monta sobre una supercie de

madera, taladre dos oricios de 3/32

pulgadas en la supercie de montaje.

Instale los dos tornillos de montaje (AA)

que atraviesen la plancha de montaje (F)

hasta llegar a la supercie de montaje.

□Si el montaje es sobre tabla de bra

prensada o sobre ladrillo, taladre dos

oricios de 7/32 pulgadas en la supercie

de montaje. Inserte los anclajes de

pared(BB) y je la placa de montaje (F)

usando los dos tornillos de montaje (AA).

□Deslice la parte de atrás del aparato de luz(B)

hacia abajo sobre la placa de montaje (F) hasta

que cierre a presión en su sitio.

Para quitar la luz (B) de la placa de montaje (F),

presione la lengüeta (2) en la parte inferior de la placa

de montaje (F) y deslice la luz (B) hacia afuera.

4 Instalación de la lámpara en la

canaleta

NOTA: Esté seguro que haya suciente espacio vertical

por encima de la placa de montaje que permita montar

la lámpara.

□Alinee los montajes deslizantes de la parte

posterior de la placa de montaje (F) con los

montajes deslizantes del soporte de montaje

del canalón (G).

□Deslice las dos piezas juntas hasta que se

“cierre de golpe”.

□Deslice la parte de atrás del aparato de luz(B)

hacia abajo sobre la placa de montaje (F) hasta

que cierre a presión en su sitio.

□Deslice el soporte de montaje del canalón (G)

sobre el borde del canalón.

Para retirar el soporte de montaje del canalón (G) de

la placa de montaje (F), deslice las dos piezas para

separarlas.

5 Instalación de la lámpara en

un poste

NOTA: Esté seguro que haya suciente espacio vertical

por encima de la placa de montaje que permita montar

la lámpara.

□Deslice la atadura de cable (CC) por las

ranuras en el costado de la placa de

montaje(F).

□Envuelva la atadura de cable (CC) alrededor del

poste asegurándose de que las palabras “ESTE

LADO HACIA FUERA” en la placa de montaje(F)

no miren hacia el poste. Apriete la atadura/

placa de montaje (CC/F) rmemente al poste.

□Deslice la parte de atrás del aparato de luz(B)

hacia abajo sobre la placa de montaje (F) hasta

que cierre a presión en su sitio.

Para quitar la atadura (CC) de la placa de montaje (F),

presione la lengüeta de la atadura (CC) para liberar la

atadura (CC). Deslice la atadura (CC) fuera de la placa

de montaje (F).

6 Montaje del panel solar

IMPORTANTE: Calafatee alrededor de la base y en la parte

superior de las cabezas de los tornillos luego de la instalación.

NOTA: Envuelva todo exceso del cable del panel solar

alrededor del sistema de manejo del cable (3) que está en

la parte de atrás de la base del panel solar. Deje suciente

cable ojo para formar un lazo de goteo (4).

□Coloque el panel solar (H) contra la supercie

de montaje asegurándose de que la echa

apunte hacia arriba y marque los agujeros de

montaje.

□Si se monta sobre una supercie de

madera, taladre dos oricios de 3/32

pulgadas en la supercie de montaje.

Instale los dos tornillos de montaje (AA)

que atraviesen la base hasta llegar a la

supercie de montaje.

□Si se monta sobre tabla de bra prensada

o sobre ladrillo, taladre dos oricios de

7/32 pulgadas en la supercie de montaje.

Inserte anclas de pared (BB) y sujete la

base con dos tornillos de montaje (AA).

7 Regulación del panel solar

□Gire el panel solar (H) al ángulo deseado.

IMPORTANTE: El panel solar debe recibir en el transcurso del día

tanta luz directa del sol como sea posible. Recuerde que las sombras

pueden durante el día impedir que la luz solar llegue al panel solar.

8 Conexión del panel solar al

aparato de luz

□Guíe con cuidado el cable del panel solar(H)

hacia la lámpara (B). Inserte el extremo

del cable en el cable desde el lado de la

lámpara(B).

□Deje suciente cable ojo para formar un lazo

de goteo (4).

IMPORTANTE: Gire el cuadrante de control (D) de la parte lateral

del detector a la posición OFF y deje que la pila se cargue de 2 a 5

días de sol intenso antes de probar.

1 Ajuste de lo cabezale de la

lámpara

□Si es necesario, sujete suavemente lo cabezal

de la lámpara (A) e inclínelo hacia arriba o

hacia abajo o de lado a lado para ajustar el

área de cobertura de la luz.

2 Determinación de la zona

de detección del detector de

movimiento

NOTA: Cuando el cuadrante de control se ja en la

posición “TEST” (PRUEBA), la luz funcionará durante el

día o la noche. La luz permanecerá encendida 5 segundos

después que todo movimiento se ha detenido.

NOTA: El detector de movimiento necesitará calentarse

completamente (hasta 30 segundos) antes de empezar el

proceso de puesta a punto.

□Gire el cuadrante de control (D) a la posición

TEST.

□Gire el dial de sensibilidad (E) a la posición “L”.

□Haga una “prueba caminando”: camine

transversalmente a la parte frontal del detector de

movimiento (C) siguiendo la trayectoria de un arco.

□Observe la luz (B). La luz (B) se encenderá

indicando que el movimiento ha sido

detectado.

□Deténgase, espere que la luz (B) se apague, y

luego empiece a caminar de nuevo.

□Continúe este proceso hasta que la zona de

detección haya sido establecida.

3 Ajuste de la sensibilidad

□Si es necesario durante la “prueba de

caminata”, gire el dial de sensibilidad (E) a la

sensibilidad deseada (“L”, “M”, “H”).

NOTA: El detector de movimiento es más sensible al

movimiento transversal a la parte frontal del detector. El

detector de movimiento es menos sensible al movimiento que

se dirige directamente hacia del detector.

NOTA: Cuanto mas alto el ajuste de sensibilidad, mayor

será la posibilidad de una activación falsa. Para reducir la

activación falsa, gire el dial de sensibilidad a la posición

“L” o “M”.

4 Regulación del temporizador

de la luz

NOTA: El temporizador de la luz controla la cantidad de

tiempo que la luz permanecerá encendida con toda su

intensidad luego de que todo movimiento ha cesado. El

temporizador está programado para 60 segundos.

□Gire el dial de control (D) a la posición "60S"

(60 segundos) para que la luz (B) funcione

automáticamente por la noche.

5 Uso del control OFF

Si no va a usar la luz (B) durante varias semanas,

apague la unidad. Guárdela con el panel conectado y

en un sitio donde el panel pueda guardar la luz solar.

□Gire el cuadrante de control (D) a la posición

OFF para apagar la luz (B) y para conservar la

vida de la pila.

Cuidado y limpieza

□Para prolongar la apariencia original, limpie la lámpara solo con agua limpia y un paño suave y húmedo.

□Limpie el panel solar periódicamente con un trapo suave y con agua tibia. No use una manguera. Mantenga el

panel sin nieve y sin hojas. Asegúrese que los árboles y otros objetos no cubran la luz del sol dirigida al panel.

□No use pinturas, solventes u otros productos químicos en esta lámpara o panel solar. Podrían ser la causa

de una prematura deterioración del acabado. Esto no es un defecto del acabado y no será cubierto por la

garantía.

□No rocíe la lámpara con una manguera o lavadora a presión.

□Si no va a usar la por algunas semanas, APAGUE la unidad. Guárdela con el panel conectado y en un sitio

donde el panel pueda guardar la luz solar.
