• If equipped with a heater, this appliance can be hot when operated and can cause severe
burns if contacted.
• Do not operate appliance before reading and understanding operating instructions. Failure to operate
appliance according to operating instructions could cause fi re or injury.

2.0 general information
This appliance has been tested in accordance with the CSA Standards for fixed and location-dedicated electric
room appliances in the United States and Canada. If you need assistance during installation, please contact your

• Due to high temperatures, this electric appliance should be located out of traffic. Keep combustible materials
such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 36” (91.4cm) from the front of the
appliance.
• Never locate this electric appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
• Wear safety gloves and safety glasses for protection during installation and maintenance.
• To prevent contact with sagging or loose insulation, the electric appliance must not be installed against vapor
barrier or exposed insulation. Localized overheating could occur and a fire could result.
• Do not expose the electric appliance to the elements (such as rain, etc.).

Carefully remove the appliance from the box and remove the support brackets. Prior to installing the appliance,
remove all packaging material and test to make sure the appliance operates properly by plugging the power
supply cord into a conveniently located 120V, 15Amp minimum grounded outlet.

This appliance is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in (A). An adapter as shown in (C) is available
for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles, as shown in (B).
The green grounding plug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a
properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.
To disconnect appliance, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
Must be connected to a dedicated 15Amp circuit. The use of an extension cord is not permitted.

4.3 trim kit installation
1. Remove the two screws on one side of the front
glass.
2. Secure the side trim and front glass using the
previously removed screws. Ensure slots face
inwards and the bottom of the trim is flush with
the bottom of the appliance. Repeat steps 1 and 2
on opposite side.
4.2 minimum mantel clearances
• When using paint or lacquer to finish the mantel, the paint or lacquer must be heat resistant to prevent
discolouration.

4. Insert the 4 brackets into the slots on the side
trim pieces. See above for a rear view of bracket
installed.

4.4 hard wiring installation
HARD WIRING CONNECTION
If it is necessary to hard wire this appliance, a qualified electrician must remove the cord connection and wire
the appliance directly to the household wiring. The wire and power supply breaker must be rated for 120V and a
minimum of 15Amps.
This appliance must be electrically connected and grounded in accordance with local codes, if hard wired, in the
absence of local codes, use the current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code in Canada or the current ANSI/
NFPA 70 National Electrical Code in the United States.
There are 3 wires from the fireplace junction; white (neutral), black (power L1) and green (ground) that
connect to 120V power supply (breaker panel), see below.

• Turn off the appliance completely and let cool before servicing. Only a qualifi ed service person should service
and repair this electric appliance.

1. Remove the securing screw from the electrical cover plate, located on the right hand side of the appliance.
2. Add an electrical box connector and feed the supply wires through the 7/8” (22mm) hole.
3. Separate the black, white and green wires that have the wire nuts on them.
4. Remove the wire nuts and secure the black wire (power L1) to the black (power L1) lead of the power supply.
Connect the white wire from the appliance to the white (neutral) wire from the power supply. Connect the
green wire to the ground wire.
5. Resecure the cover plate.

1. With two people, lift the appliance up and insert it into the opening, keeping a 3/8” (9.5mm) space between
the appliance and floor base to prevent scratching the floor surface. Do not push or slide the bottom of the
appliance or the floor base, see Figure 1.
2. Set the appliance down and into place, see Figure 2.
3. If the appliance does not sit flat on the floor or mantel base, apply a shim (not supplied) under the nylon pads
and adjust until level.

Prepare rough in framing following the recommended dimensions, see Figure 1.
Select a location that is not prone to moisture and is located at 36” (91.4cm) away from combustible materials as
curtain drapes, furniture, bedding, paper, etc.
1. Once the rough opening has been prepared and the power has been routed to the right side of the recess,
the appliance may be installed.
2. The electrical connection must be made prior to placing the appliance into position, see “hard wiring

fragile so handle with care.

7.0 operation
Once the appliance has been plugged into a grounded electrical outlet or hard wired to a dedicated 120V power
supply, it is ready to operate.
ATTENTION: Ensure the house circuit breakers for the power supply are turned on. When initially
connecting the appliance into a power source, the appliance will perform an LED check. The appliance
will flash on and off for 5 seconds.

1. The Power button can be used to turn the appliance on/off. Pressing the
Power button activates the power to the appliance. Pressing the Power
button again will turn off the appliance. The ember and log will fade after 4
seconds after turning off the appliance.
2. To adjust the flame brightness and ember log light, press the Flame &
Ember Light Control button. There is one ember log light and three flame
brightness levels to cycle through and then an off setting (LL, F1, F2, F3
and then F0). F3 is the brightest flame level, LL is the ember log light only.
3. To control the thermostat function, press the Temperature Control button.
There are 7 temperature settings (61°F, 64°F, 70°F, 75°F, 81°F, 85°F and
off). The default setting will display Fahrenheit. Press the Temperature
Control button to cycle through the settings. Once you have selected
the desired temperature, the heater will automatically operate until the
temperature is reached. When the room temperature is 2 degrees lower
than the temperature setting, the heater will turn on.
4. To activate the heater and blower, press the Heater Control button, the
blower will turn on. Press the Heater Control button again to set desired
low or high temperature; press the Heater Control button again to turn off
the heater.
5. The timer controls all operating modes of the appliance. To activate the
timer, press the Timer button, the icon will illuminate and the time will
appear on the LED display. To choose the desired time, continue to press
the Timer button; there are 8 settings (30mins, 1h, 2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h and
off). The appliance will turn off at the setting time.
6. To turn off the appliance, press the Power button once on the remote, or
press the Power button once on the control panel on the appliance.
• To avoid danger of suffocation, keep the packaging bag away from babies and children. Do not use in cribs, bed,
carriages or play pens. This bag is not a toy. Knot before throwing away.

When operating the remote control, it must be directed towards the front center of the appliance.

1. To replace the existing battery, remove the battery
holder.
2. To remove the battery holder, turn the remote onto
the front side and press the left side lever towards
the center while pulling the battery holder out using
the slot provided, as shown.
3. Replace existing battery, type CR 2025, with a new
battery and reinstall the battery holder onto the
remote by sliding it into position.
4. Battery cover will ‘click’ into the remote control until
secure.

Napoleon warrants its products against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser only. Registering your warranty is
not necessary. Simply provide your proof of purchase along with the model and serial number to make a warranty claim.
Provided that the purchase was made through an authorized Napoleon dealer, your appliance is subject to the following
conditions and limitations:
Warranty coverage begins on the date of original installation.
This factory warranty is non-transferable and may not be extended whatsoever by any of our representatives.
Installation must be done in accordance with the installation instructions included with the product and all local and national
building and fi re codes.
This limited warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, accident, alterations, abuse, or
neglect and parts installed from other manufacturers will nullify this warranty.
This limited warranty further does not cover any scratches, dents, corrosion, or discolouring caused by excessive heat,
abrasive and chemical cleaners, nor chipping on porcelain enamel parts, mechanical breakage of PHAZER™ logs.
In the fi rst year only, this warranty extends to the repair or replacement of warranted parts which are defective in material
or workmanship, provided that the product has been operated in accordance with the operation instructions and under
normal conditions.
Napoleon will not be responsible for installation, labour, or any other expenses related to the reinstallation of a warranted
part, and such expenses are not covered by this warranty. Notwithstanding any provisions contained in the Limited
Warranty, Napoleon responsibility under this warranty is defi ned as above, and it shall not in any event extend to any
incidental, consequential, or indirect damages.
This warranty defi nes the obligations and liability of Napoleon with respect to the Napoleon electric appliance and any
other warranties expressed or implied with respect to this product; its components or accessories are excluded.
Napoleon neither assumes, nor authorizes any third party to assume, on its behalf, any other liabilities with respect to the
sale of this product.
Any damages to appliance, brass trim or other component due to water, weather damage, long periods of dampness,
condensation, damaging chemicals, or cleaners will not be the responsibility of Napoleon.
Napoleon reserves the right to have its representative inspect any product or part thereof prior to honouring any warranty
claim.
All parts replaced under the Limited Warranty Policy are subject to a single claim.
All parts replaced under the warranty will be covered for a period of 90 days from the date of their installation.
The manufacturer may require that defective parts or products be returned or that digital pictures be provided to support
the claim. Returned products are to be shipped prepaid to the manufacturer for investigation. If a product is found to be
defective, the manufacturer will repair or replace such defect.
Before shipping your appliance or defective components, your dealer must obtain an authorization number. Any
merchandise shipped without authorization will be refused and returned to sender.
Shipping costs are not covered under this warranty.
Additional service fees may apply if you are seeking warranty service from a dealer.

• Estos artefactos están probados e indicados para uso únicamente con los accesorios opcionales
mencionados en estas instrucciones. El uso de accesorios opcionales no probados específi camente para
este artefacto podría anular la garantía o causar un riesgo de seguridad.
Para artefactos que cuentan con un calefactor:
• Riesgo de quemaduras. Antes de hacer el servicio del artefacto, debe desconectarse el suministro de
electricidad y debe dejarlo enfriar. Para desconectar el suministro de electricidad al artefacto, coloque los

Este artefacto debe usarse a 120 voltios. El cable tiene un enchufe, como se muestra en (A). Hay disponible un
adaptador como se muestra en (C) para conectar enchufes de tres patas del tipo de puesta a tierra en
receptáculos de dos ranuras, como se muestra en (B). El enchufe a tierra verde que se extiende desde el

4.3 instalación del kit de molduras
1. Retire los dos tornillos en uno de los lados del vidrio
delantero.
2. Asegure la moldura frontal y el vidrio delantero con
los tornillos antes retirados. Asegúrese de que
las ranuras miren hacia adentro y la base de la
moldura esté nivelada con la base del artefacto.
Repita los pasos 1 y 2 en el otro lado.

4.4 instalación del cableado eléctrico
CONEXIÓN DEL CABLEADO ELÉCTRICO
Si es necesario hacer el cableado eléctrico de este artefacto, un electricista calificado debe retirar la conexión
del cable y conectar el artefacto directamente al cableado de la vivienda. El cable y el disyuntor deben estar
calificados para 120V mínimo 15 amp.
Este artefacto debe contar con la conexión eléctrica y la puesta a tierra de acuerdo con los códigos locales,
si se realiza el cableado eléctrico. En ausencia de códigos locales, use el CÓDIGO ELÉCTRICO CANADIENSE
CSA C22.1 vigente en Canadá o el CÓDIGO ELÉCTRICO NACIONAL ANSI/NFPA 70 vigente en los EE. UU.
Hay 3 cables desde el empalme de la chimenea: blanco (neutro), negro (potencia L1) y verde
(a tierra) que se conectan a un suministro eléctrico de 120V (panel del disyuntor). Vea a continuación.

A. Retire el tornillo de seguridad de la cubreplaca eléctrica, ubicada al lado derecho de la chimenea.
B. Agregue un conector de caja eléctrica y pase los cables de alimentación por el orificio de 7/8” (22 mm).
C. Separe los cables negro, blanco y verde que tienen las tuercas de los cables puestos.
D. Retire las tuercas de los cables y asegure el cable negro (potencia L1) al conductor negro (potencia
L1) del suministro de electricidad. Conecte el cable blanco desde la unidad al cable blanco (neutro) del
suministro de electricidad. Conecte el cable verde con el cable de puesta a tierra.
E. Vuelva a asegurar la cubreplaca.

A. Con dos personas, levante el artefacto y ubíquelo en la abertura, manteniendo un espacio de 3/8” (9.5
mm) entre el artefacto y la base del piso para no rayar la superficie del piso. No empuje ni deslice la base
del artefacto sobre la base del piso. Vea la Figura 1.
B. Baje el artefacto y ubíquelo en su lugar. Vea la Figura 2.
C. Si el artefacto no queda plano sobre el piso o la base de la repisa, aplique un calce (no se suministra)
debajo de los rellenos de nylon y ajústelo hasta que esté parejo.

Prepare la tirantería para los conductos siguiendo las dimensiones recomendadas, vea la Figura 1.
Seleccione una ubicación que no sea propensa a tener humedad y se ubique a al menos 36” (91.4cm) lejos de
materiales combustibles como cortinados, muebles, ropa de cama, papel, etc.
1. Una vez preparada la abertura para el conducto, y que el conducto eléctrico haya sido colocado al lado
derecho de la escotadura, se puede instalar el artefacto.
2. La conexión eléctrica debe hacerse antes de colocar el artefacto en su lugar. Consulte “ instalación del
cableado eléctrico”.

• Los materiales de reverstimiento o terminación no deben interferir con el flujo de aire a través de las aberturas de

hacer el servicio. Observe todos los espacios de separación al aplicar materiales combustibles.

7.0 operación
Una vez que el artefacto se haya enchufado a un toma eléctrico puesto a tierra o se haya conectado a un
suministro eléctrico de 120V exclusivo, está listo para funcionar.
ATENCIÓN: Asegúrese de que los disyuntores del suministro eléctrico de la vivienda estén encendidos.
Al conectar inicialmente el artefacto a una fuente de electricidad, el artefacto realizará un chequeo de
LED. La unidad parpadeará durante 5 segundos.

temperatura , o viceversa. Hay 7 configuraciones de
la temperatura (61

1. El botón de potencia puede usarse para encender y apagar el artefacto.
Al pulsar este botón se activa la potencia al artefacto. Para apagar el
artefacto, vuelva a pulsar el botón de potencia. Las brasas y los leños se
apagarán después de 4 segundos de haber apagado el artefacto.
2. Para ajustar el brillo de la llama y la luz de los leños y brasas, pulse el
botón de control de la luz de la llama y las brasas. Hay una luz para los
leños y brasas y tres niveles de brillo de la llama para passar de uno a
otro, u luego una configuración de apagado (LL, F1, F2, F3 y luego F0).
F3 es el nivel de llama más intensol LL es la luz de los leños y brasas
únicamente.
3. Para controlar la función del termostato, pulse el botón de control de la
temperatura. Hay 7 configuraciones de la temperatura (61°F, 64°F, 70°F,
75°F, 81°F, 85°F y desconextado). La configuración por defecto mostrará
grados Fahrenheit. Pulse el botón de control del termostato para pasar de
una configuración a otra. Una vez que haya seleccionado la temperatura
deseada, el calefactor funcionará automáticamente hasta llegar a esa
temperatura. Cuando la temperatura del ambiente sea 2 grados inferior a
la temperatura configurada, el calefactor se encenderá.
4. Para activar el calefactor el ventilador, pulse el botón de control del
calefactor; el ventilador se encenderá. Vuelva a pulsar el botón de control
del calefactor para establever la temperatura de calor bajo o alto deseado
Vuelva a pulsar el botón de control del calefactor para apagar el calefactor.
5. El temporizador controla todos los modos operrativos del artefacto. Para
activar el temporizador, pulse el botón del temporizador; el ícono se
iluminará y el tiempo se mostrará en la pantalla LED. Para elegir el tiempo
deseado, siga pulsando el botón del temporizador. Hay 8 configuraciones
(30mins, 1h, 2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 6h y desconectado). El artefacto se apagará según el tiempo configurado.
6. Para apagar el artefacto, pulse el botón de potencia una vez en el control remoto, o pulse el botón de
potencia una vez en el panel de control del artefacto.
• Para evitar el peligro de sofocación, mantenga la bolsa de empaque lejos de los bebés y los niños. Esta bolsa no
es un juguete. Átela antes de desecharla.

Al operar el control remoto, debe dirigirlo hacia el centro del frente del artefacto.

7.3 instalación de las baterías del control remoto
1. Para reemplazar la batería existente, quite el
soporte de la batería.
2. Para retirar el soporte de la batería, dé vuelta el
control remoto y pulse la palanca a la izquierda hacia
el centro, a la vez que jala el soporte de la batería
hacia afuera usando la ranura proporcionada, como
se muestra.
3. Reemplace la batería existente, tipo CR 2025, por
una batería nueva, y vuelva a instalar el soporte de la
batería en el control remoto deslizándolo a su lugar.
4. La cubierta de la batería está asegurada en el
control remoto cuando se escucha un sonido de
“click”.

Napoleon garantiza sus productos ante defectos de fabricación al comprador original únicamente. No es necesario
que registre su garantía. Simplemente presente su prueba de compra junto con el modelo y número de serie para hacer
un reclamo de garantía. Siempre que la compra se haya hecho a través de un distribuidor de Napoleon autorizado, su

Esta garantía de fábrica es intransferible y ninguno de nuestros representantes puede extenderla de ninguna manera.

Todas las piezas reemplazadas en virtud de la política de Garantía limitada están sujetas a un único reclamo.
Todas las piezas reemplazadas en virtud de la garantía estarán cubiertas durante un período de 90 días a partir de la fecha
de su instalación.
El fabricante puede necesitar que las piezas o productos defectuosos sean devueltos o que se proporcionen imágenes
digitales para respaldar el reclamo. Los productos devueltos deben despacharse con el envío prepagado al fabricante para
su investigación. Si se encuentra que un producto es defectuoso, el fabricante lo reemplazará o reparará tal defecto.
Antes de despachar el artefacto o los componentes defectuosos, su distribuidor debe obtener un número de autorización.
Toda mercadería enviada sin autorización será rechazada y devuelta al remitente.
Los costos del envío no están cubiertos en virtud de esta garantía.
Pueden aplicarse honorarios de servicio adicionales si usted procura servicio en garantía de un distribuidor.
Los artefactos eléctricos Napoleon están fabricados bajo la estricta norma reconocida en el mundo ISO 9001: 2008,
Certifi cado de garantía de calidad.
Los productos Napoleon están diseñados con componentes y materiales superiores y ensamblados por artesanos
capacitados que sienten gran orgullo por su trabajo. Una vez ensamblado, un instalador califi cado y autorizado, una agencia
de servicio, o un proveedor inspecciona detalladamente todo el artefacto antes de su empaque, para asegurarse de que
usted, el cliente, reciba el producto de calidad que espera de Napoleon.
Los componentes eléctricos y las piezas sujetas a desgaste están cubiertos y Napoleon proporcionará piezas de
reemplazo sin costo durante el primer año de garantía limitada. Esto cubre: ventilador/calefactores, motores, interruptores,
componentes con nylon, controles remotos y luces de LED.*
Las bombillas de las luces y los fusibles NO están cubiertos por la garantía.
Cualquier trabajo relacionado con una reparación en garantía no está cubierto.
