ing instructions are part of the product. They contain important
information about safety, usage, and disposal. Before using the
product, please familiarize yourself with all operating and safety

When using an iron, basic precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE!
1. Only use an iron for its intended use.
2. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in
water or other liquids.
3. Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging the iron
from the electrical outlet. Never pull on the cord to disconnect
the appliance from the electrical outlet; instead, grab the plug
and pull on the plug to disconnect the appliance.
4. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completely
before putting the iron away. Coil the cord loosely around the iron
when storing.
5. Always disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet before filling
the iron with water, emptying the water from the iron, and when
the iron is not in use.
6. Do not operate the iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has
been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock,
do not disassemble the iron. Take it to a qualified specialist for
examination and repair. Incorrect assembly might result in a risk
of electric shock when the iron is used after reassembly.

7. Close supervision is required for any appliance used by or near
children. Do not leave the iron unattended while the iron is con-
nected or on an ironing board.
8. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or
steam. Use caution when you turn a STEAM IRON upside down –
there might be hot water in the reservoir.
9. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate an iron on the same
circuit with another high wattage appliance.
10. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an
ampere rating equal to or greater than the maximum rating of
the iron shall be used. A cord rated for less current can result
in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating. Care shall
be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled on be
tripped over.

► This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)

person who is responsible for their safety, or receive instructions
from this person on how to use the appliance. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
► The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the
supply mains.
► The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the water
reservoir is filled with water.
► The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible
signs of damage or if it is leaking.

► The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
► When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on
which the stand is placed is stable.
► If the SUPPLY CORD is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu-
facturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to
avoid a hazard.
To prevent accidents, have defective plugs and/or power
cords replaced immediately by an authorized specialist
technician or our customer service department.
Under no circumstances should you submerge the steam
iron in any liquid or permit liquids to penetrate into the
housing of the steam iron. Do not expose the appliance
to humidity and do not use it outdoors. If any liquid gets
into the housing, unplug the appliance immediately and
have it repaired by a qualified technician.
The surfaces of the appliance can become hot!
► The voltage of the power source must conform to the details
provided on the type plate of the appliance.
► When disconnecting the appliance from the power source, pull
only on the plug itself, never on the cable.
► Never bend (kink) or crush the power cord; always route it in
such a way that it cannot come into contact with hot surfaces and
so that no one can step on or trip over it.
► Remove the plug from the outlet after every use, before cleaning
the appliance, and when refilling the appliance with water.
► Never touch the power cord or the plug with wet hands.

► Never use the steam iron near water contained in a bath, shower,
sink or other vessels. The proximity of water is hazardous, even if
the appliance is turned off.
► Do not open the steam iron housing. Have a defective appliance
repaired only by an authorized technician.
► Stop using the appliance if the anti-kink protection on the power
cord is damaged!
► Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
► The iron and its connecting cable must be kept out of the reach of
children under the age of 8 while the iron is turned on or cooling
down.
Never place your hands in the steam path or on hot
metal parts.
This product contains chemicals known to the
State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other
reproductive harm.
► Hold the steam iron only by the handle when it is hot.
► Do not open the filler opening for the water tank while the iron
is in use. Allow the steam iron to cool down first and remove the
plug from the power socket.
► Do not put the steam iron away until it has cooled down complete-
ly.
► Use only the ironing temperatures stated in the care instructions
as suitable for the material. Otherwise, you could damage the
textiles. If you do not know the correct care instructions, start with
the lowest temperature setting.

► Place the iron only on a level and heat-resistant surface. The
iron must be stable.
► When you want to put the steam iron down, always place it on
its base.
► If the clothing care instructions forbid ironing, ( symbol), the
clothing item may not be ironed/steamed. Ignoring this warning
could lead to permanent damage to the clothing item.
► Do not clean the steam iron with solvents, alcohol or abrasive
cleaning agents. They could damage it.
► The water tank should be filled only with tap water or distilled
water. Otherwise, you will damage the steam iron.

Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
there is only one way this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet. If
the plug does not completely fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the
plug in any way.
► A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord) should
be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in, or trip-
ping over a longer cord.
► Longer detachable power supply cords or extensions cords may
be used if they are used carefully.
► If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appli-
ance;
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop, where it can be pulled on by children,
or tripped over unintentionally; and
3) If the appliance has a grounded plug, the cord set or exten-
sion cord should also be a grounded 3-wire cord.

Proper use
The steam iron is intended exclusively for the ironing of textiles.
The iron may only be used indoors and in domestic households.
All other use is deemed as improper use. It is not suitable for
commercial use!

Before first use
1) Remove the steam iron from the packaging.
2) Remove all stickers and protective films from the steam iron and
from the sole of the iron .
Plastic bags can be dangerous. To avoid
fatalities through suffocation, keep plastic bags out of the reach
of children.
3) Fill the water tank with water (See the chapter on "Filling the
water tank").
4) Insert the plug into a power socket supplying an electrical
current as detailed on the rating plate.
5) To turn on the iron and set the temperature, press the TEMP
button repeatedly until 11/MAX appears on the display .
6) Heat the steam iron up for several minutes at the highest
setting.
7) Activate the steam blast button several times so that steam
comes out of the sole of the iron .
8) Then iron over a piece of scrap fabric to remove any produc-
tion residues that may remain on the sole of the iron .
9) Press the TEMP button repeatedly until the display
reads Standby in red letters.
10) Remove the power plug from the power socket.

Automatic shut-off
This steam iron is equipped with an automatic shut-off system.
This stops the steam iron from heating up.
When the steam iron is resting on its sole and is not moved for
approx. 30 seconds, 6 warning beeps will sound and "PAUSE"
appears in red letters in the display . The steam iron will stop
heating up.
To deactivate the automatic shut-off, lift up the steam iron and
move it gently from side to side.
The previously set temperature level is shown in white letters and
the steam iron heats up again.
When the steam iron is resting on its base and is not moved
for approx. 8 minutes, 6 warning beeps will sound and "PAUSE"
appears in red letters in the display . The steam iron will stop
heating up.
To deactivate the automatic shut-off, lift up the steam iron and
move it gently from side to side.
The previously set temperature level is shown in white letters and
the steam iron heats up again.
The automatic shut-off is not intended as a substitute for removing
the plug from the power socket!
It is merely designed to prevent the appliance from overheating
and helps avoid unnecessary power consumption.
However, it does not provide fire protection, e.g. if you place and
leave the hot steam iron on flammable material.

Filling the water tank
1) Place the steam iron on the base .
2) Open the cover of the filler opening for the water tank -.
3) Using the measuring beaker 3, fill the water tank with water to
the "MAX" marking, but not further.
4) Close the cover of the filler opening for the water tank -.
If the water in your location is rated as hard, we recommend that
you mix the tap water with some distilled water. Otherwise, the
jets for the steam blast function could calcify (become blocked
with limescale) prematurely.
To extend the optimal steam blast function, mix tap water with
distilled water according to the table.

Operation
Plugging in and ironing
You can dry-iron without steam at all temperatures. Steam ironing
is only possible from temperature level 8 and upward ( also
appears on the display ).
1) Insert the plug into a power socket. There will be a beep and
the display will show "Standby" in red letters.
If the clothing care instructions forbid ironing
(), the garment may not be ironed. Ignoring this warning could
lead to permanent damage to the clothing item.
2) Check the care instructions on the labels in garments to see if
they are suitable for ironing, and at which temperature setting.
3) To turn on the iron, press the TEMP button repeatedly
until the required temperature level appears on the display
(see chapter on "Meaning of the display indicators"). Use the
TEMP button to switch to a higher or lower temperature
level.
As soon as the indicator for the material type stops flashing on
the display and a beep is heard, the set temperature has been
reached and you can begin ironing.
If you are ironing very dry and wrinkled fabrics, you can dampen
the material using the spray function. To dampen the material,
press the button for the spray function .

Steam ironing
The temperature level must be set at least to level 8. Otherwise
no steam will be produced.
■ Set the steam control to the desired steam setting.
–Turn the steam control towards to generate more
steam.
–Turn the steam control towards to generate less
steam.
–Make sure you do not turn the steam control further than
the setting. Otherwise, you will activate the self-clean-
ing function (see chapter about "Self-cleaning function").
■ As soon as you hold the steam iron horizontally, steam will
come out of the sole of the iron .
■ If you set the steam control to or hold the steam iron
vertically, no steam will come out of the sole of the iron .
Ironing with steam blast
The steam blast function is especially suitable for smoothing diffi-
cult-to-reach parts of a garment.
1) Raise the steam iron slightly.
2) Press the steam blast button for a blast of steam.
You can also use the steam blast function to smooth hanging
textiles.
Hold the iron vertically and press the steam blast
button .

Pausing operation of the steam iron
Never leave a hot steam iron unattended if
it is turned on or connected to the power supply. Risk of fire and
burns!
1) To turn off the steam iron, press and hold the TEMP
button or theTEMP button until you hear a beep and the
display shows "Standby" in red letters.
Or:
2) Press theTEMP button repeatedly until you hear a beep
and the display shows "Standby" in red letters.
Turning the steam iron off
1) Remove the power plug from the power socket.
2) Empty the water tank and clean the sole of the iron .
3) Place the cooled-down steam iron on the base .
Anti-drip system
With conventional steam irons, water can drip from the sole of the
iron if the set temperature is too low. This steam iron, however,
is equipped with a special anti-drip system ( ). At low
temperatures, the steam iron automatically turns off the steam
blast function. When this happens, a "click" can be heard. Set a
suitable temperature level. As soon as it is reached, steam produc-
tion is resumed.
Cleaning
Self-cleaning function
1) Fill the water tank to the MAX marking.
2) Insert the plug into the power socket.
3) To turn on the iron and set the temperature, press the TEMP
button repeatedly until 11/MAX appears on the display .

4) Turn the steam control to "SELFCLEAN" and keep it in this
position. For safety reasons, the steam control does not
snap into this position, as this would cause water to drip from
the sole of the iron continuously.
5) Hold the steam iron horizontally over a suitable container.
As soon as a suitable temperature is reached, steam and boiling
water will exit the holes in the sole of the iron . Any impurities
that may be present are flushed out.
6) When no more water/steam comes out of the iron sole, set the
steam control to . Iron over a towel or old piece of cloth
a few times to dry the sole of the iron thoroughly.
7) Press theTEMP button repeatedly until you hear a beep
and the display shows "Standby" in red letters.
8) Remove the power plug from the power socket.
9) Allow the steam iron to cool down before putting it away.
Housing
Always remove the plug from the power
socket before cleaning the appliance.
Never open the appliance housing! Other-
wise, there is a risk of an electric shock.
Allow the appliance to cool down before
cleaning it! Otherwise, there is a risk of burns!
Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
These will damage the surface of the appliance!
Do not use aggressive, chemical or abrasive
cleaning agents! They could irreparably damage the surface!
■ Clean the housing with a soft, dry cloth only.
■ To clean the sole of the iron , wipe it with a damp cloth and
a small amount of dish soap.

Storage
■ Empty any remaining water from the water tank.
■ Store the cooled-down appliance in a clean, dust-free and dry
location.

3 year limited warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
▯ Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.
▯ Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow
the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user
manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
▯ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
▯ Improper use or transport;
▯ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
▯ Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);
▯ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing
screws etc.)
Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under
this warranty. However, some states do not allow the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation
or exclusion may not apply to you.

1. Use la plancha exclusivamente para el uso previsto.
2. Para evitar riesgo de descargas eléctricas, no sumerja la plancha

7. Se requiere supervisar estrechamente cualquier dispositivo que
usen niños o que se use cerca de estos. No deje la plancha sin
supervisión mientras esté conectada o sobre un burro de planchar.
8. Pueden ocurrir quemaduras debido al contacto con las partes
metálicas, el agua caliente o el vapor. Tenga precaución cuando

de alimentación defectuosos.
Bajo ninguna circunstancia debe sumergir la plancha de
vapor en algún líquido ni permitir que los líquidos penetren
en la carcasa de la plancha. No exponga el dispositivo
a la humedad y no lo use en el exterior. Si algún líquido
penetra en la carcasa, desenchufe de inmediato el dispo-
sitivo y pida a un técnico calificado que lo repare.

► El voltaje de la fuente de alimentación debe coincidir con la
información que se indica en la placa de información del
dispositivo.
► Cuando desconecte el dispositivo de la fuente de alimentación,
jale solo de la clavija, nunca el cable.

Información importante sobre el cable
Este dispositivo tiene un enchufe polarizado. Para reducir el riesgo de
descargas eléctricas, solo hay una manera en que esta clavija puede intro-
ducirse en una toma de corriente polarizada. Si la clavija no se introduce

Antes del primer uso
1) Retire la plancha de vapor del embalaje.
2) Retire todas las etiquetas y películas protectoras de la plancha
de vapor y de la suela de la plancha .
Las bolsas de plástico pueden ser peli-
grosas. Para evitar muertes por asfixia, mantenga las bolsas de
plástico fuera del alcance de los niños.
3) Llene el depósito de agua (vea el capítulo "Llenado del depó-
sito de agua").
4) Inserte la clavija en una toma de corriente que proporcione
una corriente eléctrica como se indica en la placa de especifi-
caciones.
5) Para encender la plancha y ajustar la temperatura, presione
el botón TEMP varias veces hasta que aparezca
11/MAX en la pantalla .
6) Caliente la plancha de vapor durante varios minutos en el
ajuste más alto.
7) Active el botón de chorro de vapor viarias veces para que
el vapor salga por la suela de la plancha .
8) Planche sobre un pedazo de tela que no sirva para eliminar
cualquier residuo de producción que pudiera quedar en la
suela de la plancha .
9) Presione el botón TEMP varias veces hasta que la panta-
lla diga "Standby" (En espera) en letras rojas.

Apagado automático
Esta plancha está equipada con un sistema de apagado auto-
mático. Este evita que la plancha se caliente.
Cuando la plancha esté apoyada sobre la suela y no se
mueva durante aproximadamente 30 segundos, se escucharán
6 pitidos de advertencia y aparecerá "PAUSE" en letras rojas en
la pantalla . La plancha dejará de calentar.
Para desactivar el apagado automático, levante la plancha y
muévala con cuidado de un lado a otro.
El nivel de temperatura establecido previamente se muestra en
letras blancas y la plancha vuelve a calentar.
Cuando la plancha está apoyada sobre la base y no se mueve
durante aproximadamente 8 minutos, se escucharán 6 pitidos de
advertencia y aparecerá "PAUSE" en letras rojas en la pantalla .
La plancha dejará de calentar.
Para desactivar el apagado automático, levante la plancha y
muévala con cuidado de un lado a otro.
El nivel de temperatura establecido previamente se muestra en
letras blancas y la plancha vuelve a calentar.
¡El apagado automático no tiene el propósito de sustituir la
desconexión de la clavija de la toma de corriente!
El propósito de este es prevenir que el dispositivo se sobrecaliente,
y ayuda a evitar consumo innecesario de energía.
Sin embargo, no proporciona protección contra fuego, por
ejemplo, si usted coloca y deja la plancha sobre material
inflamable.

Llenado del depósito de agua
1) Coloque la plancha sobre la base .
2) Abra la tapa de la abertura de llenado del depósito de
agua -.
3) Con el vaso medidor 3, llene al depósito con agua hasta
la marca "MAX", pero no más.
4) Cierre la tapa de la abertura de llenado del depósito de
agua -.
Si el agua de su localidad se clasifica como dura, le recomenda-
mos mezclar el agua de la llave con un poco de agua destilada.
De lo contrario, los conductos del vapor para la función de
chorro de vapor podrían calcificarse (obstruirse con escamas)
de forma prematura.
Para prolongar la función óptima del chorro de vapor, mezcle
agua de la llave con agua destilada de acuerdo con la tabla.

Operación
Conexión y planchado
Puede planchar en seco en todas las temperaturas. El planchado
con vapor es posible a partir del nivel de temperatura 8 hacia
arriba ( también aparece en la pantalla ).
1) Inserte la clavija en una toma de corriente. Se escuchará un
pitido y la pantalla mostrará "Standby" en letras rojas.
Si las instrucciones de cuidado en ropa prohíben
planchar ( ), la prenda no debe plancharse. Si se ignora esta
advertencia, puede causarse daño permanente a la prenda.
2) Revise las instrucciones de cuidado en las etiquetas de las
prendas para ver si son adecuadas para plancharse y a qué
ajuste de temperatura.
3) Para encender la plancha, presione el botón TEMP
varias veces hasta que aparezca el nivel de temperatura
requerido en la pantalla (vea el capítulo "Significado de
los indicadores de pantalla"). Use el botónTEMP para
cambiar a un nivel de temperatura más alto o más bajo.
En cuanto el indicador del tipo de material deje de parpadear en
la pantalla y se escuche un pitido, se ha alcanzado la tempe-
ratura establecida y puede empezar a planchar.
Si plancha telas muy secas y arrugadas, puede humedecer el
material con la función de rociado. Para humedecer el material,
presione el botón para la función de rociado .

Planchado con vapor
El nivel de temperatura debe ajustarse al menos en el 8.
De lo contrario, no se producirá vapor.
■ Coloque el control de vapor en el ajuste de vapor deseado.
–Gire el control de vapor hacia para generar más
vapor.
–Gire el control de vapor hacia para generar menos
vapor.
–Asegúrese de no girar el control de vapor más del ajuste
. De lo contrario, activará la función de autolimpieza (vea
el capítulo "Función de autolimpieza").
■ Cuando sostenga la plancha en posición horizontal, el vapor
saldrá por la suela de la plancha .
■ Si coloca el control de vapor en o sostiene la plancha en
posición vertical, no saldrá vapor por la suela de la plancha .
Planchado con chorro de vapor
La función de chorro de vapor es adecuada especialmente para
alisar partes difíciles de alcanzar en una prenda.
1) Levante ligeramente la plancha.
2) Presione el botón de chorro de vapor para producir un
chorro de vapor.
También puede usar la función de chorro de vapor para alisar
textiles que cuelgan.
Sostenga la plancha verticalmente y presione el
botón de chorro de vapor .

Pausa de la operación de la plancha de vapor
Nunca deje la plancha de vapor sola si
está encendida o conectada a la corriente eléctrica. ¡Riesgo de
incendio y quemaduras!
1) Para apagar la plancha, presione y sostenga así el botón
TEMP o el botón TEMP hasta que escuche un
pitido y la pantalla muestre "Standby" en letras rojas.
O bien:
2) Presione el botónTEMP varias veces hasta que escuche
un pitido y la pantalla muestre "Standby" en letras rojas.
Apagado de la plancha de vapor
1) Desconecte la clavija de la toma de corriente.
2) Vacíe el depósito de agua y limpie la suela de la plancha .
3) Coloque la plancha de vapor enfriada sobre la base .
Sistema contra goteo
En las planchas de vapor convencionales, el agua puede gotear
de la suela de la plancha si el ajuste de temperatura está muy
bajo. Esta plancha de vapor, sin embargo, está equipada con un
sistema especial contra el goteo ( ). A bajas temperaturas,
la plancha apaga automáticamente la función de chorro de vapor.
Cuando esto ocurre, se escucha un clic. Establezca un nivel de
temperatura adecuado. Tan pronto como este se alcance, la
producción de vapor se reanuda.
Limpieza

2) Inserte la clavija en la toma de corriente.
3) Para encender la plancha y ajustar la temperatura, presione el
botón TEMP varias veces hasta que aparezca

4) Cambie el control del vapor a "SELFCLEAN" (AUTOLIMPIE-
ZA) y manténgalo en esta posición. Por razones de seguridad,
el control de vapor se inserta en esta posición, ya que esto
causaría que el agua goteara por la suela de la plancha
continuamente.
5) Sostenga la plancha de vapor en forma horizontal sobre un
recipiente adecuado.
Una vez que se alcance la temperatura adecuada, saldrá vapor
y agua por los orificios de la suela de la plancha . Cualquier
impureza que pudiera estar presente será expulsada.
6) Cuando deje de salir agua o vapor de la suela de la plancha,
ajuste el control de vapor en . Planche sobre una toalla o
tela usada varias veces para secar completamente la suela de
la plancha .
7) Presione el botón TEMP varias veces hasta que escuche
un pitido y la pantalla muestre "Standby" en letras rojas.
8) Desconecte la clavija de la toma de corriente.
9) Permita que la plancha se enfríe antes de guardarla.
Carcasa
Desconecte siempre la clavija de la toma
