Safety Information

Important Notes

• Verify that the child seat is securely installed and the harness is

properly adjusted around the child each time the child seat is used.

• Discontinue use of this child seat if it has been in a moderate

or severe crash. It is not necessary to replace a car seat after a

minor crash defined by the US National Highway Traffic Safety

Administration (NHTSA) as:

* The vehicle is driveable from the crash site; and

* The vehicle door nearest the child seat was not damaged; and

* No vehicle occupants were injured; and

* There is no visible damage to the child seat; and

* The airbags (if present) did not deploy.

• Adjust the harness to fit the clothes the child is wearing. Remove

bulky coats and/or jackets before putting the child in child seat.

• Cover the child seat when the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight.

Metal parts of child seat could become hot enough to burn a child.

• Store the child seat in a safe place when it is not being used. Avoid

placing heavy objects on top of it.

• Do not leave children alone in a vehicle, even for a short time.

• Do not, except as described in this booklet, attempt to disassemble

any part of the child seat or change the way the harness or vehicle’s

seat belts are used.

• Do not leave loose objects, e.g. books, bags, etc., in the back of

a vehicle. In the event of a sudden stop, loose objects will keep

moving, potentially causing serious injuries.

• Do not leave folding vehicle seats unsecured or unlatched. In the

event of a sudden stop, a loose seat back could cause the child seat

not to perform as intended.

• Do not allow children to play with this child seat.

Certification

This child seat system conforms to all applicable Federal Motor

Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 213). This restraint is certified

for use in motor vehicles and aircraft when used in harness mode.

This restraint is not certified for use in aircraft when used in booster

mode because belt-positioning boosters require lap-shoulder belts

not available in aircraft.

For aircraft installation, follow the instructions on pages 14 -15

while routing the lap belt over the CLICKTIGHT in the closed

position. The Versa-Tether cannot be used.

– Install your child seat in a window seat to avoid blocking the

aisle.

– If the aircraft lap belt is too short, ask a flight attendant for a

belt extender.

– Your child may experience discomfort if the buckle is located

in the seating area of the child seat after installation.

– Inflatable aircraft lap belts are not compatible with this child

seat.

– This seat may not fit all aircraft. Contact your airline prior to

travel to verify fit.

Section Title

• Harness mode: use only with children who weigh between 25 and

90 lbs (11.3 and 40.8 kg) and whose height is between 30 and

58 in. (76.2 and 147.3 cm) and are at least 2 years of age.

• Booster mode: use only with children who weigh between 40 and

120 lbs (18.1 and 54.4 kg) and whose height is between 45 and

62 in. (114.3 and 157.5 cm).

• Snugly adjust the belts provided with this child restraint around

your child.

• Secure the top anchorage strap provided with this child seat.

• Use only the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt system when

restraining the child in this booster seat.

• Secure this child restraint with the vehicle’s child restraint

anchorage system if available or with a vehicle belt.

• Do not use the lower anchors of the child restraint anchorage

system (LATCH system) to attach this child restraint when

restraining a child weighing more than 38 lbs (17.2 kg) with the

internal harnesses of the child restraint.

• Follow all instructions on this child restraint and in the written

instructions located in the pocket behind the cover of the child seat.

• Register your child restraint with the manufacturer.

• The top tether MUST be used in harness mode for children that

weigh more than 65 lbs (29.5 kg). Britax recommends that the top

tether be used at all times when installing the child seat. Using the

top tether will improve the stability of your child seat and reduce the

risk of injury.

• Use this child seat forward-facing only.

• This child seat cannot be in the recline position when used in

booster mode.

• According to accident statistics, children are safer when properly

restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating

positions.

• This child seat must not be used in the home, in boats, or other non-

certified applications.

• To prevent injury due to deterioration or hidden damage, discontinue

use of this child seat when it is older than nine years or has been in

a moderate or severe crash. See Serial Number and Manufactured

Date Label located on the child seat shell. See page 21.

• The primary protection for occupants of a vehicle in a collision is the

body of the vehicle itself. A child seat may not protect a child when

the vehicle is seriously im pact ed. However when correctly installed,

a child seat will substantially improve the chances for survival in

most crashes.

• Secure this child seat even when it is not occupied. In a crash, an

unsecured child seat may injure vehicle occupants.

• Never use the harness or adjuster strap to lift or carry this child seat.

Doing so could damage the harness adjuster and webbing. Always

carry this child seat by the shell or tether straps.

• The use of non-Britax covers, inserts, toys, accessories, or

tightening devices is not approved by Britax. Their use could cause

this child seat to fail Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or not

perform as intended in a crash.

• Always check the back seat upon leaving your vehicle to prevent

leaving a child restrained in a child seat alone in the vehicle.

• Prevent the Side Impact Cushions from being punctured. Puncture

damage will cause the cushions not to perform as intended in a crash.

WARNING!

DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur.

WARNING! Booster mode use of this child seat is ONLY for

children who meet ALL of the following requirements. Use only the

vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt to secure the child. If the child does not

meet all booster mode requirements because the child is too small,

you may need to use this child seat in harness mode. Thoroughly

review all fit requirements before using the child seat.

Children must:

1 weigh between 40 and 120 lbs (18.1 and 54.4 kg) and

2 stand between 45 and 62 in. (114.3 and 157.5 cm) in height

and

3 the top of the child’s ears must be below the top of the head

restraint and

4 the shoulder belt must be appropriately positioned across the

center of the child’s chest in the closest position at or above

the child’s shoulder through the shoulder belt guide and

5 the lap belt is routed under the armrests, low across the

child’s upper thighs.

NOTE: Britax recommends booster mode only after the child

outgrows harness mode.

Booster Mode

• This child seat can be used in

booster mode with children who

weigh between 40 and 120 lbs

(18.1 and 54.4 kg) and stand

between 45 and 62 in. (114.3

recommends using booster mode

only once your child has outgrown

harness mode.

• This child seat cannot be in the

recline position when used in

booster mode.

• In booster mode, this child seat

can be positioned on the vehicle

seat using the LATCH system. Use

the vehicle’s lap-shoulder belt to

secure the child. Ensure that the

LATCH system does not interfere

with the vehicle belt function and

alignment when securing your

child.

WARNING!

• Position forward-facing only in a seating position with a

lap-shoulder belt.

• Use only the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt system when

securing a child in booster mode. Never secure a child

with a lap belt only in booster mode.

• Always secure the unoccupied child seat.

• If the lower anchors in your vehicle prevent proper vehicle

belt fit across your child you cannot use LATCH to position

this seat in booster mode. See below.

The vehicle belt fits properly

when the lap part sits low across

• Install forward-facing only.

• DO NOT use anything to raise the child seat off of the

• Use this child seat in harness

mode with children at least 2

If the child seat is not secure, repeat the installation procedure

9 Check that any excess Versa-Tether webbing is contained

within your vehicle and secured in the elastic strap.

2 Pull the vehicle belt out and

route along the green belt

path. Verify that the belt is not

twisted and then buckle.

3 Remove slack from the lap

part (a), then shoulder part (b)

of the vehicle belt.

IMPORTANT: Only remove

slack from the vehicle seat belt.

Overtightening the belt may prevent

hook over a designated

vehicle tether anchor. Remove

the elastic strap.

• Loosen the Versa-Tether and place it over the child seat

back to keep it from becoming pinned between the child

seat and vehicle seat during installation.

type of vehicle belt you have and how it can be locked

for use with child seats.

• Check that your vehicle has a top tether anchor.

* The top tether MUST be used in harness mode for

children that weigh more than 65 lbs (29.5 kg). Britax

recommends that the top tether be used at all times

when installing the child seat. Using the top tether will

improve the stability of your child seat and reduce the

risk of injury. Check your vehicle owner’s manual for

tether anchor locations.

• Loosen the Versa-Tether and place it over the child seat

back to keep it from becoming pinned between the child

seat and vehicle seat during installation.

LATCH with CLICKTIGHT

Before you begin:

IMPORTANT:

It is not necessary to use LATCH to position

this child restraint in booster mode. To use this seat in booster

mode without LATCH, see instructions for Securing Your Child

on page 18.

IMPORTANT: Use lower anchors only to position this child seat

in your vehicle seat. Secure your child using the vehicle’s lap-

shoulder belt system.

• Check that your vehicle has lower anchors.

• Check that your vehicle has a top tether anchor.

• Loosen the Versa-Tether and place it over the child seat

back to keep it from becoming pinned between the child

seat and vehicle seat during positioning.

• Adjust the child seat to the upright position and place

forward facing on the vehicle seat.

2 Route the lower connector

strap along the green belt path

and firmly press the lower

connectors onto their adjacent

lower anchors.

* A click confirms attachment.

* Verify that the strap is not

twisted.

3 Pull the end of the lower

connector strap to remove

slack.

IMPORTANT: Only remove slack

from the lower connector webbing.

Overtightening the webbing may

prevent the CLICKTIGHT from

properly securing.

4 Close the CLICKTIGHT.

* A click confirms the

CLICKTIGHT is secure.

4 Place the child in the child

seat and position the harness

straps around the child.

5 Fasten the harness buckle.

* Proper connection is confirmed

with an audible click after

inserting each buckle tongue.

7 Fasten the chest clip.

* The correct height for the chest

clip is at the middle of the

chest at armpit level.

* The HUGS chest pads may be

placed in any position that is

comfortable for the child within

the range of the correctly

placed chest clip.

Pull the harness adjuster strap

to tighten the harness.

* The harness should have a

snug fit around the child. A

snug strap should not allow

any slack. It lies in a relatively

straight line without sagging. It

does not press on the child’s

flesh or push the child’s body

into an unnatural position. You

should not be able to pinch

excess webbing.

Pull the harness adjuster away

from the child seat (parallel to

the ground) to tighten.

Do not pull sideways.

Checklist

Before traveling, verify that the:

9 Harness straps are not twisted.

9 Harness is snug.

9 Buckle is fastened.

9 Chest clip is at the child’s armpit level.

WARNING!

• Never route the vehicle belt over the child when using this

child seat in harness mode.

• Adjust the belts provided with this child seat so they

fit snugly around your child. A snug strap should not

allow any slack. It lies in a relatively straight line without

sagging. It does not press on the child’s flesh or push the

child’s body into an unnatural position.

• Adjust the harness to fit the clothes the child is wearing.

Remove bulky coats and/or jackets before putting the

child in the child seat.

• Verify that the child seat is secure and the harness is

properly adjusted around the child each time the child

seat is used.

Harness Mode

Before you begin:

Always check the seat area for debris and remove it to prevent

interference with the harness adjuster mechanism or CLICKTIGHT.

1 Loosen the harness.

Before traveling, verify that the:

9 Shoulder part of vehicle belt is routed through the shoulder belt

guide at or above the child’s shoulder, lies across the center of the

child’s chest and does not contact the child’s neck.

9 Lap part of the vehicle belt is routed low across the child’s upper

thighs.

4 Remove slack from the vehicle

belt.

* The shoulder part must lie

across the center of the child’s

chest, at or above the child’s

shoulder.

Securing Your Child

Before you begin:

• If your vehicle seat back is adjustable, ensure it is in the

upright position before placing the child seat on the vehicle

seat.

• Adjust the child seat to the upright position and place

forward facing on the vehicle seat, if not already installed

(see page 14).

1 Adjust the head restraint so

the bottom of the shoulder

belt guides are in the closest

position at or above the child’s

shoulders. The child’s ears

should be below the top of the

head restraint.

3 Fasten the vehicle belt across

the child.

* The lap part of the vehicle belt

must be routed low across the

child’s upper thighs.

Pull the vehicle belt out

and route the shoulder part

through the shoulder belt

guide.

TIP: Raising the head restraint to the

highest position will allow for

easier access to the shoulder

belt guide.

Booster Mode

WARNING!

• Only use a lap-shoulder belt to secure the child in booster

mode.

• Use the shoulder belt guides on the child seat to ensure

proper fit.

• Ensure the lap part of the vehicle belt sits low across the

child’s upper thighs and that the shoulder part does not

contact the child’s neck.

Adjusting Buckle Position

Removing the Buckle

1 Unbuckle the harness by

pressing the release button

and pulling the tongues.

2 Open the CLICKTIGHT.

* Locate the two slots in the

CLICKTIGHT cover.

* Squeeze the CLICKTIGHT

release levers.

Turn and pull the buckle

retainer through the slot in the

child seat shell.

3 Unhook the retaining clips

at the back of the seat cover.

Pull the seat cover and foam

forward and over the EZ-

Buckle belly pad.

Positioning the Buckle

IMPORTANT: Select the slot

closest to, but not under the child.

1 Turn and push the buckle

retainer through the slot in the

child seat shell.

2 Pull the EZ-Buckle belly pad

through the corresponding

slot in the seat cover. Place

the seat cover and foam back

in their original positions and

Harness and Head Restraint Height Adjustment

IMPORTANT: Make all adjustments for the fit of your child before

using the child seat. Place the child seat on the floor and have your

child sit in the seat. Follow the instructions on the following pages

to make the proper adjustments to the harness, buckle, and head

restraint.

The figure above shows typical locations for lower anchors and

tether anchors in a vehicle. Check your vehicle owner’s manual for

the exact lower anchor locations and seating positions (if equipped),

information on use with a child seat, and for the maximum weight

rating for the lower anchors.

Standard vehicle seat spacing between lower anchors is 11 inches

(27.9 cm). This child seat can be used in a seating position with up

to 20 inches (50.8 cm) of space between the lower anchors if the

vehicle manufacturer allows.

IMPORTANT: Use the elastic strap to contain extra webbing. Always

Using the Versa-Tether

• Attach the Versa-Tether only to tether anchors identified by

your vehicle manufacturer as tether anchorage points.

• If your vehicle does not currently have a tether anchor

attachment, refer to your vehicle owner’s manual or contact

your vehicle man u fac tur er for assistance. DO NOT modify

your vehicle without advice from your vehicle manufacturer.

• The top tether MUST be used in harness mode for children

that weigh more than 65 lbs (29.5 kg). Britax recommends

that the top tether be used at all times when installing the

child seat. Using the top tether will improve the stability of

your child seat and reduce the risk of injury.

Using the Lower Connectors

The lower connectors are located

under the CLICKTIGHT in the

lower connector storage area.

Store the lower connectors when

not in use.

To remove the lower connector from the storage slot or lower

anchor:

1 Press and hold the red release

button.

2 Pull the lower connector

from the storage slot or lower

anchor.

To attach the lower connector to the storage slot or lower

anchor:

Firmly push the lower connector

into the slot or lower anchor until a

click is heard.

NOTE: Fold the lower connector

strap and adjuster so that they

lie flat within the lower connector

storage area. Attach the lower

connectors to the anchors located

at the front of the storage area.

Energy-Absorbing Versa Tether

The Versa-Tether can indicate when the child seat has been in a

moderate or severe crash and replacement of the child seat is

necessary.

Figure 1 shows the tether when

the child seat is acceptable for

continued use (provided the child

seat has not been involved in a

crash). The colored stitching will

be intact and the webbing will be

held under a tether label.

Figures 2 and 3 show examples

of when the child seat is

unacceptable for continued use.

If the tether label is torn, or if one

or both of the loops have pulled

through the back side of the shell

and/or any of the colored stitching

has ripped, the child seat is no

longer acceptable for use.

IMPORTANT: Discontinue use of

child seat if it has been involved

in a moderate or severe crash,

regardless of whether the loops

have pulled through the back

side of the shell and the colored

stitching has been ripped.

TIP: When installing the child seat

with the vehicle seat belt and the

vehicle buckle stalk is too long:

• Consult your vehicle owner’s

manual to see if you can lower

the vehicle buckle position by

twisting the vehicle buckle stalk a

maximum of three full rotations to

shorten to appropriate length.

• Be sure the vehicle buckle

release is facing outward after twisting.

Troubleshooting

Problem: The CLICKTIGHT will not close with a click to signal that

it is secure.

Possible Solution: There may be debris or other objects

interfering with the mechanism. Ensure the seat area is clear of any

obstructions and try closing the CLICKTIGHT again.

Problem: The harness is hard to adjust.

Possible Solution: Check that the harness slots in the head

restraint and harness adjuster are properly aligned.

Possible Solution: The yoke may be caught on a strap or other

component of the child seat. Remove the obstruction and try

adjusting the harness again.

Problem: The adjuster strap is fraying at the sides:

Possible Solution: Pull the harness adjuster strap away from the

child seat (parallel to the ground) to tighten. Do not pull sideways.

Doing so may cause the harness adjuster strap to fray at the sides.

See page 17.

Problem: The buckle will not fasten with a click after each tongue

is inserted.

Possible solution: There may be debris in the buckle mechanism.

Clean the buckle as shown on page 44 and try fastening the

buckle again.

Notas importantes

• Cada vez que use el asiento de seguridad para niños,

compruebe que está bien sujeto y que el arnés está

perfectamente ajustado al tamaño del niño.

• Debe dejar de utilizar este asiento de seguridad para niños

si ha estado implicado en un choque moderado o grave. No

obstante, no es necesario reemplazarlo en caso de un choque

menor y de poca severidad, que la Administración Nacional

de Seguridad de Tráfico en Carreteras de EE. UU. (National

Highway Traffic Safety Administration) (NHTSA) define como

aquellos en los que:

* Aún es posible conducir el vehículo después del accidente.

* La puerta del vehículo que queda más cerca del asiento de

seguridad para niños no sufrió daño alguno.

* Ninguno de los ocupantes del vehículo resultó lesionado.

* No hay indicios visibles de daño en el asiento de seguridad

para niños.

* Las bolsas de aire (si presentes) no se inflaron.

• Ajuste el arnés teniendo en cuenta la ropa que lleve puesta el

niño. Antes de colocar al niño en el asiento, quítele cualquier

chaqueta o abrigo abultado que lleve.

• Cubra el asiento de seguridad para niños si deja el vehículo

expuesto al sol, ya que las piezas metálicas pueden calentarse

y quemar al niño.

• Guarde el asiento en un lugar seguro cuando no lo esté

utilizando. No coloque objetos pesados encima.

• No deje niños desatendidos en el vehículo, ni siquiera durante

un corto periodo de tiempo.

• No intente desmontar piezas del asiento, a menos que lo haga

según se indica en este manual. Utilice el arnés y los cinturones

de seguridad del vehículo únicamente como se indica.

• No deje objetos sueltos, como libros, maletas, etc., en la parte

posterior del vehículo, ya que en caso de frenado brusco, los

objetos sueltos podrán desplazarse y causar lesiones graves.

• No deje asientos plegables sin asegurar adecuadamente, ya

que en caso de frenado brusco, un respaldo suelto podría

hacer que el asiento de seguridad para niños no rinda como

debiera.

• No deje que los niños jueguen con el asiento de seguridad.

• Britax no aprueba el uso de cubiertas, piezas, juguetes, accesorios

o dispositivos de ajuste que no sean de Britax. Su uso podría hacer

que el asiento no cumpla con las normas federales de seguridad

automotriz o que no rinda como debiera durante un accidente.

• Antes de abandonar el vehículo, es importante comprobar siempre

que no ha dejado a un niño solo en el asiento de seguridad infantil.

• Evite que los cojines protección de impacto lateral sufran daños, ya

que podría impedir que rindieran como cabe esperar en caso de

accidente.

• Modo de arnés: únicamente se debe utilizar con niños que pesan

entre 11,3 y 40,8 kg (25 y 90 lb), miden entre 76,2 y 147,3 cm (30 y

58 pulg.), y tienen como mínimo 2 años de edad.

• Modo regulable: únicamente se debe utilizar con niños que

pesan entre 18,1 y 54,5 kg (40 y 120 lb) y miden entre 114,3 y

157,5 cm (45 y 62 pulg.).

• Ajuste bien los cinturones que se incluyen con este dispositivo de

retención infantil alrededor del niño.

• Asegure la correa de anclaje superior que se incluye con el

asiento de seguridad para niños.

• Cuando se esté utilizando este asiento regulable para sujetar al

niño, solo debe usarse el sistema de cinturón de seguridad de

banda horizontal y transversal del vehículo.

• Asegure este dispositivo de retención infantil con el sistema

de anclaje de retención para niños del vehículo (si hay uno

disponible) o con uno de los cinturones de seguridad del

automóvil.

• Cuando esta usando las correas del arnés, no utilice los anclajes

de retencion inferiores (LATCH) para instalaciones de este asiento

de seguridad para niño con un niño cuyo pesa más de 17,2 kg

(38 libras).

• Siga todas las instrucciones de este dispositivo de retención

• Registre este dispositivo de retención infantil con el fabricante.

• La correa de retención superior DEBE utilizarse en modo de arnés

para niños que pesan más de 29,5 kg (65 lb). Britax recomienda

que se use la correa de retención superior en todo momento,

cuando se esté instalando el asiento de seguridad para niños. El

uso de esta correa de retención superior mejorará la estabilidad

del asiento de seguridad para niños y disminuirá el riesgo de

lesiones.

• Utilice este asiento de seguridad para niños solo orientado hacia delante.

• El asiento de seguridad del niño no puede estar en posición

reclinada cuando esta en modo regulable.

• Las estadísticas sobre accidentes muestran que los niños están

más seguros cuando viajan debidamente sujetos en los asientos

traseros del vehículo que cuando se sientan en los delanteros.

• Este asiento de seguridad para niños no debe utilizarse en casa

ni embarcaciones, ni darle cualquier otro uso para el que no esté

certificado.

• Para evitar lesiones debido a deterioro o a daños ocultos, este

asiento de seguridad debe dejar de utilizarse tras nueve años de

antigüedad o si ha estado implicado en un accidente moderado

o grave. Consulte la fecha de fabricación y de vencimiento

que aparece en el exterior del asiento de seguridadpara niños.

• En cualquier colisión, la principal protección para los ocupantes

es la propia carrocería del vehículo. Un asiento de seguridad para

niños no protegerá al menor si el vehículo sufre un impacto muy

fuerte. Sin embargo, si está instalado correctamente, el asiento

de seguridad para niños aumentará considerablemente las

posibilidades de supervivencia en la mayoría de los accidentes.

• Asegure el asiento de seguridad para niños aun cuando no esté

ocupado, ya que de no estar asegurado podría, en caso de

accidente, lastimar a los demás ocupantes del vehículo.

• Nunca debe emplearse la correa de ajuste ni el arnés para

levantar o transportar el asiento de seguridad para niños, ya que

podría dañar el regulador del arnés e incluso el propio arnés.

Sostenga siempre el asiento de seguridad para niños por el

exterior o por las correas de retención.

El sistema de este asiento de seguridad para niños cumple con todas

las normas federales de seguridad automotriz (FMVSS 213). Este

sistema de retención está certificado para uso en vehiculos y aviones

en modo de arnés. Este sistema de retencion no está certificado para

su uso en aviones en modo regulable porque los aviones no tienen

cinturones de banda transversal necesarios para el modo regulable.

Para la instalacion en aviones, consulta las instrucciones en paginas

62 - 63, con el cinturón de banda horizontal encima del CLICKTIGHT

mientras que este está cerrado. No se puede utilizar el Versa-Tether.

– Instale el asiento de seguridad para niños en un asiento de

ventanilla, a fin de evitar bloquear el paso.

– Si el cinturon de banda horizontal es demasiado corto, solicite

un auxiliar de vuelo para un extensor de cinturon.

– Puede que el niño no esté cómodo si se deja la hebilla en la

– Cinturones de seguridad inflables del avión NO son

compatibles con este asiento para niños.

– El asiento de seguridad para niños no puede caber en todos

los asientos de los aviones. Póngase en contacte con la

ADVERTENCIA!

• Coloque el asiento orientado hacia delante solo en un asiento

que disponga de cinturón de banda horizontal y transversal.

• Solo debe usarse el sistema de cinturón de seguridad

de banda horizontal y transversal del vehículo cuando se

esté sujetando al niño mediante el modo regulable. Nunca

se debe sujetar a un niño solo con un cinturón de banda

horizontal cuando se esté utilizando el modo regulable.

• Los asientos de seguridad para niños siempre deben estar

bien sujetos, aunque no estén ocupados.

• Si los anclajes inferiores de su vehículo impiden que el

cinturón del vehículo quede bien ajustado al niño, no podrá

utilizar el sistema LATCH para colocar este asiento en modo

regulable. Observe el siguiente diagrama.

puesta el niño. Antes de colocar al niño en el asiento,

quítele cualquier chaqueta o abrigo abultado que lleve.

• Cada vez que use el asiento de seguridad para niños,

compruebe que esté bien sujeto y que el arnés esté

perfectamente ajustado al tamaño del niño.

suelo y siente a su hijo en él. Siga las instrucciones de las páginas

siguientes para realizar los ajustes oportunos al arnés, a la hebilla y al

El espacio estándar que suele quedar libre en los asientos del

vehículo entre los anclajes LATCH es de 27,9 cm (11 pulgadas).

Este asiento de seguridad para niños puede colocarse en asientos

con hasta 50,8 cm (20 pulgadas) de separación entre los anclajes

LATCH, si el fabricante del vehículo así lo permite.

• La correa de retención superior DEBE utilizarse en modo de

arnés para niños que pesan más de 29,5 kg (65 lb). Britax

recomienda que se use la correa de retención superior en

todo momento, cuando se esté instalando el asiento de

seguridad para niños. El uso de esta correa de retención

superior mejorará la estabilidad del asiento de seguridad

para niños y disminuirá el riesgo de lesiones.

Uso de los conectores inferiores

Los conectores inferiores se

encuentran situados debajo del

CLICKTIGHT en el compartimento

para conectores inferiores. Guarde

los conectores inferiores cuando

no se estén utilizando.

Absorción de fuerzas Versa Tether

El Versa-Tether puede indicar cuando el asiento de seguridad para

niños ha estado implicado en un accidente moderado o grave, y

es necesario reemplazarlo.

La figura 1 muestra una correa

de retención cuando el asiento

de seguridad para niños está en

condiciones de seguir utilizándose

(salvo que el asiento de seguridad

para niños haya estado implicado

en un choque). Las puntadas de

color estarán intactas y la correa

de retención estará atrapada por

una etiqueta.

En las figuras 2 y 3 se pueden

observar ejemplos de cuándo el

asiento de seguridad para niños

debe dejar de utilizarse. Debe

dejar de usarse el asiento de

seguridad para niños si la etiqueta

para la correa de retención está

rota, si alguna de las lazadas ha

salido por la parte posterior del

asiento o si las puntadas de color

están rotas.

Posición de la hebilla del vehículo

Si la hebilla se encuentra cerca de la posición

incorrecta (

) cuando el cinturón de seguridad

está tensado, intente ajustar el asiento de

seguridad para niños en otro asiento del vehículo.

Si no consigue colocar la hebilla en la posición

correcta (

) DEBERÁ usar otro asiento del

vehículo.

ADVERTENCIA! La posición de la

hebilla del cinturón del vehículo puede

perjudicar la estabilidad del asiento de

seguridad para niños.

NO coloque el asiento de

seguridad para niños en el

asiento delantero de un

vehículo que tenga airbag,

excepto si este está

desactivado, ya que podría

causar DAÑOS GRAVES o

incluso el FALLECIMIENTO

del niño. Consulte el

manual del vehículo para

ver las instrucciones de

instalación del asiento de

seguridad para niños. El

asiento trasero es el lugar

más seguro para niños de

12 años y menores.

superior del asiento de

seguridad para niños. Realice

la misma operación en el otro

lateral.

8 Coloque la cubierta del

reposacabezas en este y

pase las cintas elásticas

superiores por los enganches

que se encuentran en la parte

superior de cada uno de los

laterales del reposacabezas.

9 Acople las sujetadores

gancho y lazo de la cubierta

del reposacabezas alrededor

del arnés.

• LAVAR A MANO con agua fría y jabón suave.

• COLGAR PARA SECAR a fin de evitar que encoja.

• NO DEBE:

2 Acople los enganches que

ADVERTENCIA! Evite que los cojines protección de

Limpieza:

• ENJUAGAR BIEN con agua templada.

nuevo.

• SECAR CON TOALLA

• NO DEBE:

* Dejar en remojo

* Utilizar lubricantes

* Utilizar disolventes

* Utilizar jabón ni detergentes domésticos

1 Gire el dispositivo de

retención de la hebilla y

páselo por la ranura del

exterior del asiento de

seguridad para niños.

2 Pase la almohadilla abdominal

para el sistema de abrochado

CONSEJO: Al instalar el asiento

de seguridad para niños con el

cinturón de seguridad de vehículo

si la correa de hebilla es demasiado

larga:

• Consulte a su manual de

propietario del vehículo para

ver si usted puede bajar la

posición de la hebilla girando

la correa un máximo de tres

vueltas completas para acortar

a la longitud adecuada.

Solución de problemas

Problema: El CLICKTIGHT no se cerrará con un clic para indicar

que es seguro.

Posible solución: Puede haber suciedad u otros objectos que

interfieren con el mecanismo. Asegúrese de que el área del

asiento esté despejado de obstrucciones y cerráis el CLICKTIGHT

de nuevo.

Problema: Resulta difícil ajustar el arnés.

Posible solución: Compruebe que las ranuras del arnés, que se

encuentran en el reposacabezas y en el regulador del arnés, están

debidamente alineadas.

Posible solución: Puede que el enganche haya quedado apresado

en una correa o en otra pieza del asiento de seguridad para niños.

Retire el posible obstáculo e intente ajustar el arnés de nuevo.

Problema: La correa de ajuste se está desgastando por los

laterales.

Posible solución: Tense la correa de ajuste del arnés tirando de

ella hacia fuera del asiento de seguridad para niños (de manera

paralela al suelo). No jale hacia los lados, ya que esto podría

provocar que la correa de ajuste del arnés se desgaste por esa

zona. Consulte la página 65.

Problema: La hebilla no se abrocha con un clic después de

insertar cada lengüeta.

Posible solución: Es posible que haya suciedad acumulada en la

hebilla. Limpie la hebilla como se muestra en la página 92 e intente

abrocharla de nuevo.
