The heavy armored car Sd. Kfz. 232 (Schwere Panzerspähwagen 232) was deployed
by Wehrmacht units in the mid-thirties. The effective management of reconnaissance
and radio communications between units was an essential feature of rapidly moving
military operations known as "blitzkrieg". The armored car Sd.Kfz. 232 was a key
component in meeting this need. The mobility of the six-wheeled vehicle, both on
and off-road, was complemented by enhanced radio communications equipment
which was equally effective over both short and long range. The armored car was

Le véhicule blindé lourd Sd. Kfz. 232 (Schwere Panzerspähwagen 232) a été
distribué aux détachements de la Wehrmacht au milieu des années trente. La

Der schwere Panzerspähwagen Sd. Kfz. 232 wurde Mitte der 1930er Jahre an
die Wehrmachtseinheiten verteilt. Das wirkungsvolle System der Aufklärung und
des Funkverkehrs zwischen den Einheiten war ein Schlüsselfaktor für den Erfolg
des Bewegungskriegs und des Blitzkriegs. Der Panzerspähwagen Sd.Kfz. 232 war
eine gute Antwort auf diese Notwendigkeit. Die Mobilität des 6-Rad-Fahrzeuges,
sowohl auf der Straße als auch im Gelände, wurde mit einer verbesserten
Funkausrüstung für die Kommunikation auch mit großer Reichweite kombiniert.
Der Panzerspähwagen war mit einer großen Bügelantenne ausgestattet, die
später durch eine vertikale Antenne ersetzt wurde und eine leistungsfähige
Kommunikation zwischen Kommando und Truppen auf dem Schlachtfeld
sicherstellte. Die Bewaffnung im Turm bot ausreichend Feuerkraft für die Abwehr
des Fahrzeugs und für fortgeschrittene Aufklärungsmissionen.
