By purchasing the SilverCrest SMA 500 B1 milk frother, hereinafter referred to as milk frother, you

have opted for a high quality product.

1. General Information

1.1. Read and retain the operating manual

This operating manual contains important information regarding the safe use of the

milk frother as well as details on day-to-day use and disposal. Carefully familiarize

yourself with the operating manual, paying special attention to the safety instructions

before using the milk frother, and use it only for the application areas and purposes

described. If you give the milk frother away or sell it, please ensure that you also pass on the

operating manual. It is part of the product.

1.2. Explanation of symbols used

The following symbols and signal words are used in this operating manual, on the device, or on the

packaging.

This symbol / signal word indicates a hazard with a high level of risk that if not prevented could

result in death or serious injury.

2. Safety

2.1. Intended use

This milk frother is a household device and is only intended for heating/frothing milk. It must not be

used outside of closed rooms or in regions with a tropical climate. The milk frother is not intended

for business or commercial use. Use the milk frother solely for private purposes in living areas; any

other use is deemed improper. This device meets all relevant norms and standards in conjunction

with UL conformity. Compliance with these standards is no longer guaranteed if a change is made

to the milk frother without the authorization of the manufacturer. The manufacturer shall not be

liable for any damages or faults arising as a result. Only use the accessories provided by the

manufacturer.

Please observe the national regulations and/or laws of the country in which the device is used.

2.2. Safety Instructions

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions

should always be followed, including the following:

1. Read all instructions.

2. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put in water

or other liquid.

3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used

by or near children.

Risk of electric shock!

- A faulty electrical installation, excessive power supply

voltage, or incorrect use can result in electric shock.

- The milk frother should not be operated with an external

timer or a separate remote control system.

- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider

than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug

will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does

not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,

contact a qualified technician. Do not modify the plug in

any way.

- Always take hold of the power cord by the plug and do not

pull on the cord itself.

- Do not place any items of furniture or other heavy objects

on the power cord. Make sure that the cord is not bent,

especially in the area near the plug.

- Ensure that the power cord does not come into contact with

hot or sharp areas or edges in order to avoid damage.

- Ensure that the power cable (12) does not come into

contact with any hot surfaces of the milk frother. A

damaged power (12) cable can cause fire or electric

shock.

- Only plug in the milk frother to a power socket that is

always easily accessible. Only operate the milk frother with

the voltage specified on the rating plate, otherwise there is

a risk of electric shock!

- Do not use an adapter plug or extension cable that does

not meet the relevant safety standards and do not perform

any procedures on the power cable (12) yourself! If the

power cable (12) is damaged, it must be replaced by the

manufacturer, their service department or by a similarly

qualified person in order to avoid hazards.

- Never make a knot in the power cable (12) and do not

bundle it with other cables. The power cable (12) must be

laid in such a way that no one steps on it or is obstructed by

it. There is a risk of injury.

- If you notice any smoke, unusual noises, or smells, unplug

the power cable (12) of the milk frother from the socket

immediately. In a case like this, you must stop using the milk

frother until it has been checked by a specialist.

- Repairs are required if the milk frother has been damaged,

liquids or objects have gotten inside the housing, the milk

frother has been exposed to rain or moisture or if the milk

frother is not functioning properly or has been dropped. All

repairs should only be carried out by qualified technicians.

- Never open the housing of the base (11), as this does not

contain any parts to be maintained. If the housing is open,

there is a risk of electric shock.

- The milk frother must always be disconnected from the

mains if left unattended, prior to assembly and disassembly

or cleaning.

- Never immerse the base (11) or the canister (7) in water or

any other liquid. If liquid enters into the base (11),

disconnect the plug from the socket immediately and

contact the service department.

- Fill the canister (7) up to the MIN marking with milk. If you

do not pour in enough milk, there is a risk of fire due to

overheating.

Danger to children and persons with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities (for

example, partially disabled, elderly people with

limited physical and mental abilities), or lack of

experience and knowledge (for example, older

children).

- This milk frother may be used by children aged eight and

over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or

mental abilities or who lack experience and knowledge,

provided that they are supervised or have been instructed in

the safe use of the device and understand the resulting

dangers.

- Children must not play with the milk frother.

- Cleaning and maintenance by the user may not be

performed by children, unless they are over eight years of

age and supervised.

- Children under eight years of age are to be kept away from

the milk frother and the power cable (12).

- The packaging material is not a toy. Children must not play

with the plastic bags. There is a risk of suffocation.

- Store the milk frother out of reach of children.

Risk of injury!

Improper handling of the milk frother or

accessories may cause injury to the operator.

- Always use fresh milk. Do not consume any milk that has

been sitting in the canister (7) for a long period of time.

- Do not reheat milk that has cooled. Pour away old milk.

- Never touch the housing of the canister (7) during and

immediately after operation. Only use the handle (6) to

hold or carry the canister (7).

- Hot steam can escape when heating milk. Make sure not to

burn yourself. Wear an oven glove, if necessary. Turn the

canister (7) so that the steam is directed away from you.

- Only clean the canister (7) once it has cooled down

completely.

- Fill the canister (7) up to the interior MAX marking. If you

pour in too much milk, it can boil over and cause burn

injuries and damage to property.

- Only operate the milk frother with the lid (2) on. Otherwise

milk can escape and cause burn injuries and damage to

property.

- Do not remove the lid (2) when the milk frother is being

used.

- Only heat the canister (7) with the base (11) developed for

this purpose. Do not under any circumstances place it on a

hob to heat it and do not use the base of any other milk

frother.

- Do not use the canister (7) for other liquids; only use it for

milk.

- Do not put any objects on the base (11).

- Only operate the milk frother on a flat, stable and fire-proof

surface. If the milk frother is not placed on a level surface, it

can tip over and cause damage to property and under

certain circumstances may also cause burn injuries.

- Never leave the milk frother unattended when in use.

- Unplug the plug from the socket when the milk frother is

unattended.

6. Before Initial Use

Remove the SMA 500 B1 milk frother and all accessories from the packaging and check the

completeness of the delivery. Remove all protective films as well as the ILAG sticker, which you can

find inside the canister (7). Keep the packaging material away from children and dispose of it in an

environmentally-friendly manner.

7. Initial Use

Before you prepare milk for consumption for the first time, you must first clean the milk frother in

order to remove dust and any remnants of the packaging material. Follow the procedure described

in the ‘Maintenance/cleaning’ section.

Keep the base (11) away from water. There is danger of

electric shock.

Only operate the milk frother with the lid (2) on. Risk of

scalding!

Always use fresh milk. Do not consume milk that has been sitting

in the canister (7) for a long period of time.

Please note:

If you lift the canister (7) off the base (11) during operation, the preparation process

stops automatically. Place the canister (7) onto the base (11) again and restart the

process using the On/Off button (10).

You can conveniently store the whisk (4, 5) that is not currently in use in the whisk

holder (1). This is located on the underside of the lid (2).

7.1. Functions of the On/Off Button

The On/Off button (10) is used to select the operating mode of the milk frother.

7.2. MIN and MAX Markings

There are three markings indicated inside the canister (7).

 The MIN marking (not shown) indicates the minimum fill

capacity.

 The lower MAX marking indicates the maximum fill

capacity when using whisk B (5).

 The upper MAX marking indicates the maximum fill

capacity when using whisk A (4).

7.3. Heating Milk Evenly

 Insert whisk A (4) up to the stop on the drive shaft inside the canister (7).

 Take the canister (7) off the base (11) and pour milk up to the MIN marking inside the canister

(7). Only pour milk up to the upper MAX marking in order to prevent the hot milk from

overflowing.

 Place the lid (2) onto the canister (7).

 Place the canister (7) onto the base (11).

 Briefly press the On/Off button (10). The red LED (9) lights up and whisk A (4) begins to turn,

which ensures even heating.

 As soon as the milk is hot, the milk frother automatically switches off and the red LED (9) goes

out.

You can stop the preparation process at any time by briefly pressing the On/Off

button (10).

 Lift the canister (7) off the base (11), remove the lid (2) and use the hot milk as you wish.

 Wait two to three minutes before using the milk frother again.

7.4. Tips on How to Make Good Milk Froth

 We recommend using cow’s milk. Other types of milk behave differently during the frothing

process. This can result in milk overflowing out of the milk frother.

 It is best to use milk with a fat content of between 1.5 and 3.5 per cent. Low-fat milk and

skimmed milk do not froth well.

 The milk should be cool.

 Do not try to froth the milk a second time if you do not like the milk froth the first time. This is

because the milk can burn.

 If you find the milk froth to be too liquidy, we recommend leaving it to rest for around 30

seconds. During this time, the liquid milk can sink down and the milk froth achieves a better

consistency.

7.5. Making Cold Milk Froth

 Insert whisk B (5) up to the stop on the drive shaft inside the canister (7).

 Take the canister (7) off the base (11) and pour milk up to the MIN marking inside the canister

(7). The volume of the milk increases during the frothing process. Only pour milk up to the

lower MAX marking in order to prevent the milk froth from overflowing.

 Place the lid (2) onto the canister (7).

 Place the canister (7) onto the base (11).

 Press the On/Off button (10) for approximately three seconds. The blue LED (8) lights up and

whisk B (5) begins to turn. The process of creating milk froth begins.

 As soon as the milk froth is ready, the milk frother automatically switches off and the blue LED

(8) goes out.

You can stop the preparation process at any time by briefly pressing the On/Off

button (10).

 Wait around 30 seconds until any remaining fluid milk settles at the bottom of the canister (7).

 Lift the canister (7) off the base (11), remove the lid (2) and use the milk froth as you wish.

 Wait two to three minutes before using the milk frother again.

7.6. Making Hot Milk Froth

 Insert whisk B (5) up to the stop on the drive shaft inside the canister (7).

 Take the canister (7) off the base (11) and pour milk up to the MIN marking inside the canister

(7). The volume of the milk increases during the frothing process. Only pour milk up to the

lower MAX marking in order to prevent the milk froth from overflowing.

 Place the lid (2) onto the canister (7).

7.7. Ideas for Using Milk Froth

You can use your freshly made milk froth in various beverages.

We have included some recipes for you here.

Viennese Blend

Freshly brewed coffee

Hot milk

Milk froth

Place the same amount of freshly brewed black coffee and hot milk into a large cup until there is

about 0.4 inch / 1 cm to the rim of the cup. Pour in the freshly made milk froth.

Latte Macchiato

5 fl oz / 150 ml milk for the milk froth

1 portion espresso (1 fl oz / 25-30 ml)

Use the milk to make fresh milk froth and pour the froth into a latte macchiato glass until the glass is

three quarters full. Next, slowly and carefully pour the espresso into the milk froth. Those who like

strong coffee can add an extra portion of espresso at this stage. Ideally, the espresso has now

collected in the center. The liquid milk is at the bottom and the top of the drink is crowned by a thick

layer of froth. If there is any leftover milk froth and space in the glass, you can carefully add the rest

of the milk froth.

Carajillo – A Spanish drink combining coffee with a shot

1 cup of espresso

0.4 fl oz / 1 cl brandy or rum

0.4 to 0.8 fl oz / 1-2 cl egg liqueur

1 heaped teaspoon of fine cane sugar

Milk froth

Stir the espresso with the brandy and dissolve the cane sugar in it. Put the egg liqueur into a large

glass and then very slowly slide the espresso over a spoon onto the egg liqueur. This creates two

layers in the glass. Fill the glass with the freshly made milk froth.

Coffee with nut nougat cream

1 cup of freshly brewed coffee

2 teaspoons of nut nougat cream

Milk froth

Stir the nut nougat cream directly into the freshly brewed coffee, provided it is still very hot. Pour in

the freshly made milk froth.

If you like, you can stir some chili powder into your coffee and sprinkle a little bit onto the milk froth.

8. Maintenance / cleaning

Always remove the plug from the power socket before

beginning to clean the base (11). Otherwise, there is a risk of

electric shock.

Do not pour or spray any liquids onto the base (11) or immerse

it into water or any other liquids. Otherwise, there is a risk of

electric shock and a fire hazard due to short circuits.

Wait until the canister (7) has cooled down completely before

cleaning it. Otherwise you could burn yourself.

Do not use any scratching or abrasive cleaning agents or

abrasive objects (such as a metal scourer) for cleaning

purposes. Otherwise the milk frother may be damaged.

Do not clean the milk frother and accessories in the

dishwasher, as this may cause irreparable damage!

Ideally, cleaning is carried out directly after the canister (7) cools. This way, any milk

residues cannot dry.

8.1. Simple cleaning process:

 Leave the whisk (4, 5) that was used in place.

 Fill the canister (7) with water considering the MIN and MAX markings and place the lid (2)

onto it.

 Allow the milk frother to run for around 30 seconds.

 Next, rinse the canister (7) with plenty of clean water and rinse the lid (2) under running water.

8.2. Thorough cleaning process:

 Remove the power cable (12) from the power socket.

 Remove the whisk (4, 5) that was used.

 Clean the interior of the canister (7) with warm water and some washing up-liquid. Use a

sponge or a soft cloth. Make sure to remove milk residue in and around the whisk drive shaft.

Next, rinse the canister (7) with plenty of clean water.

 Remove the cover seal (3) from the lid (2) and clean the two parts in mild rinse water. Rinse

with clean water, dry both parts thoroughly and position the cover seal (3) back on the lid (2).

 Clean whisks A and B (4, 5) in mild rinse water and rinse with clean water.

 Next, rinse the canister (7) with plenty of clean water and rinse the lid (2) under running water.

 Clean the outer surfaces, the base (11) and the power cable (12) with a soft, damp cloth,

using a mild detergent for stubborn stains.

Dry all of the parts thoroughly.

WARNING of damage to property

After cleaning and before using the device again, ensure that

the contact area on the underside of the canister (7) is

absolutely dry and free from any detergent residue. If not,

placing the canister (7) on the base (11) can cause a short

circuit, which in turn will result in a defective milk frother.

9. Storing the Device When Not in Use

If the milk frother is not going to be used for a longer period of time, store it in a safe, clean and dry

place.

 Before storing the device, clean it thoroughly as described in the previous section.

10. Troubleshooting

If your milk frother does not work as usual, use the following instructions to try and solve the

problem. If working through the following tips does not eliminate the fault, please contact our

hotline (see the ‘Warranty Information’ section).

10.1. The milk frother is not working

 The plug is not inserted. Insert the plug into the power socket.

 The power socket is faulty. Try the milk frother in another power socket that you know definitely

works.

 The milk frother is not switched on. Press the On/Off button (10) to switch on the milk frother.

 The milk frother has overheated and the overheating protection is preventing the device from

switching on. Wait until the milk frother has cooled down. Pour milk up to the MIN marking

inside the milk frother.

 The inserted whisk (4, 5) does not rotate. The whisk drive axle may be stuck due to milk

residues. Remove the plug and fill the canister (7) with some lukewarm water. Leave the water

in for some time and then try to rotate the whisk drive axle several times with your hand. Pour

out the water. The milk frother should now work again.

10.2. The milk in the canister won’t froth

 Check whether whisk B (5) is inserted. Insert whisk B (5), if necessary.

 Whisk B (5) is not securely in place on the whisk drive shaft. Push

whisk B (5) up to the stop on the whisk drive shaft.

11. Environmental information and disposal

Disposal of Packaging

Sort the packaging prior to disposal. Dispose of the packaging with the local utility

company.

Disposal of Used Devices

Do not dispose of used devices together with household waste! If at any time in the

future you should not use this device anymore, please dispose of it in compliance

with the applicable regulations in your state or country. This ensures professional

recycling of used devices and excludes negative consequences for the environment.

Make sure that the disposal is in compliance with local regulations and EPA

recommendations (www.epa.gov).

12. Warranty

3 years limited warranty

What does this warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

 Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.

 Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow the safety and maintenance

instructions provided in the user manual.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

 Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts (such as switches, glass, etc.);

 Improper use or transport;

 Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;

 Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);

 Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing screws etc.)

Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under this warranty. However, some

states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this

limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?

The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase. At our discretion, product will either be

refunded or replaced.

What will we not do?

We will not:

 Start a new warranty period upon product exchange;

 Repair product.

2. Seguridad

2.1. Uso previsto

El espumador para leche es un aparato doméstico y está diseñado solo para calentar/espumar

leche. No se debe usar fuera de habitaciones cerradas o en regiones con clima tropical. El

espumador para leche no está diseñado para uso comercial. Use el espumador para leche

únicamente para fines privados en habitaciones cerradas; cualquier otro uso se considera

inadecuado. Este aparato cumple con todas las normas y estándares correspondiente, además de

la conformidad con UL. No se puede garantizar el cumplimiento de estas normas en caso de que

se modifique el espumador para leche sin autorización del fabricante. El fabricante no se hace

responsable por daños o fallas derivados de esto. Use solo los accesorios proporcionados por el

fabricante.

Siga los reglamentos nacionales o las leyes del país en el que se va a usar el aparato.

2.2. Instrucciones de seguridad

- Este aparato cuenta con un enchufe polarizado (una pata

es más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de

descarga eléctrica, este enchufe solo encaja de una forma

en una toma de corriente polarizada. Si el enchufe en

encaja en la toma de corriente, inviértalo. Si aún así no

encaja, póngase en contacto con un técnico. No modifique

el enchufe de ninguna manera.

- Siempre sostenga el cable del enchufe y no jale del cable

mismo.

- No coloque muebles u otros objetos pesados sobre el

cable. Asegúrese de que el cable no se doble, en especial

en la zona del enchufe.

- Asegúrese de que el cable no entre en contacto con

superficies calientes o bordes afilados para evitar daños.

- Asegúrese de que el cable (12) no entre en contacto con

ninguna superficie caliente del espumador para leche. Si el

cable (12) se daña, puede provocar un incendio o una

descarga eléctrica.

- Conecte el espumador para leche solo a una toma de

corriente que siempre sea de fácil acceso. Haga funcionar

el espumador para leche solo con el voltaje especificado

en la placa de características, ¡de lo contrario existe el

riesgo de descarga eléctrica!

- ¡No use un adaptador para el enchufe ni una extensión

que no cumplan con las normas de seguridad

correspondientes, ni realice reparaciones usted mismo en el

cable (12)! Si el cable (12) se daña, deberá ser

reemplazado por el fabricante, su departamento de

mantenimiento o por una persona cualificada a fin de evitar

peligros.

- Nunca haga nudos en el cable (12) ni lo ate a otros

cables. Disponga el cable (12) de forma que nadie se pare

en él o que impida el paso. Existe el riesgo de lesiones.

- Si detecta humo, ruidos u olores inusuales desconecte

inmediatamente el cable (12) espumador para leche de la

toma de corriente. Si este caso se presenta, debe dejar de

usar el espumador para leche hasta que lo revise un

especialista.

- Es necesario hacer reparaciones si el espumador para

leche se dañó, si ingresaron líquidos u objetos en la

carcasa, si se expuso el espumador para leche a la lluvia o

la humedad o si el espumador para leche no funciona

correctamente o se golpeó. Todo trabajo de reparación

deberá ser realizado solo por técnicos calificados.

- Nunca abra la carcasa de la base (11), ya que no hay

piezas que requieran mantenimiento. Si se abre la carcasa,

existe el riesgo de descarga eléctrica.

- Desconecte el espumador para leche de la red de

alimentación si no está siendo supervisado, antes de

ensamblarlo y desensamblarlo o limpiarlo.

- Nunca sumerja la base (11) o el recipiente (7) en agua u

otros líquidos. Si entra líquido en la base (11), desconecte

inmediatamente el enchufe de la toma de corriente y

póngase en contacto con el departamento de servicio.

- Llene el recipiente (7) con leche hasta la marca MIN. Si no

coloca suficiente leche, existe riesgo de incendio debido a

sobrecalentamiento.

Peligro para niños y personas con capacidades

físicas, sensoriales o mentales reducidas (por

ejemplo, personas parcialmente discapacitadas o

de la tercera edad con capacidades físicas y

mentales limitadas), o con falta de experiencia o

conocimiento (por ejemplo, niños más grandes).

- Este espumador para leche puede ser usado por niños de

ocho años y mayores, así como por personas con

capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales reducidas, o

que no tengan experiencia ni conocimiento, siempre y

cuando sean supervisadas o instruidas acerca del uso

seguro del aparato y que comprendan los posibles

peligros.

- No deje que los niños jueguen con el espumador para

leche.

- No deje que los niños lo limpien o le den mantenimiento, a

no ser que tengan más de ocho años o sea bajo

supervisión.

- Mantenga alejados a los niños menores de ocho años del

espumador para leche y del cable e alimentación (12).

- El material del empaque no es un juguete. No deje que los

niños jueguen con las bolsas de plástico. Existe riesgo de

asfixia.

- Guarde el espumador para leche fuera del alcance de los

niños.

¡Riesgo de lesión!

El uso inadecuado del espumador para leche o los

accesorios puede provocar lesiones al operario.

- Use siempre leche fresca. No consuma leche que haya

estado guardada en el recipiente (7) durante un periodo

prolongado de tiempo.

- No vuelva a calentar la leche que se ha enfriado. Descarte

la leche vieja.

- Nunca toque la carcasa del recipiente (7) durante el

funcionamiento o inmediatamente después. Use solo el asa

(6) para sostener o transportar el recipiente (7).

- Puede escapar vapor caliente al calentar la leche. Tenga

cuidado de no quemarse. Use un guante para hornos, de

ser necesario. Gire el recipiente (7) de forma que el vapor

sea dirigido en dirección contraria a usted.

- Limpie el recipiente (7) solo hasta que se haya enfriado por

completo.

- Llene el recipiente (7) hasta la marca interior MAX. Si

coloca demasiada leche, puede desbordarse al hervir y

provocar quemaduras y daños materiales.

- Haga funcionar el espumador para leche solo con la tapa

(2) puesta. De lo contrario, puede desbordarse y provocar

quemaduras y daños materiales.

- No retire la tapa (2) si se está usando el espumador para

leche.

- Caliente el recipiente (7) solo con la base (11) diseñada

para ese fin. Por ningún motivo la coloque en una hornilla

para calentarla y no use la base para otro tipo de

espumador para leche.

- No use el recipiente (7) para otros líquidos; úselo solo para

leche.

- No coloque objetos sobre la base (11).

- Use el espumador para leche sobre una superficie plana,

estable y resistente al fuego. Si no se coloca el espumador

para leche sobre una superficie plana, se puede volcar y

provocar daños materiales y, en algunos casos, podría

provocar también quemaduras.

- Nunca deje el espumador para leche sin supervisión

cuando está siendo usado.

- Desconecte el enchufe de la toma de corriente si el

espumador para leche no está siendo supervisado.

7. Primer uso

Antes de preparar leche para consumo por primera vez, debe limpiar el espumador para leche

para retirar polvo y restos del material del empaque. Siga el procedimiento que se describe en la

sección «Mantenimiento/limpieza».

Mantenga la base (11) alejada del agua. Existe peligro de

descarga eléctrica.

Haga funcionar el espumador para leche solo con la tapa (2)

puesta. ¡Riesgo de quemaduras!

Use siempre leche fresca. No consuma leche que haya estado

guardada en el recipiente (7) durante un periodo prolongado

de tiempo.

Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:

Si levante el recipiente (7) de la base (11) durante el uso, el proceso de preparación

se detiene de forma automática. Coloque el recipiente (7) en la base (11) nuevamente

y reinicie el proceso usando el botón de encendido/apagado (10).

Puede guardar de forma cómoda el batidor (4, 5) que no se está usando en el

soporte para batidor (1). Este se encuentra en la parte inferior de la tapa (2).

7.2. Marcas MIN y MAX

Existen tres marcas indicadas en el interior del recipiente (7).

 La marca MIN (no mostrada) indica la capacidad máxima

de llenado.

 La marca inferior MAX indica la capacidad máxima de

llenado cuando se usa el batidor B (5).

 La marca superior MAX indica la capacidad máxima de

llenado cuando se usa el batidor A (4).

7.3. Calentar la leche de forma pareja

 Inserte el batidor A (4) hasta el tope en el vástago dentro el recipiente (7).

 Quite el recipiente (7) de la base (11) y vierta leche hasta la marca MIN dentro del recipiente

(7). Vierta leche solo hasta la marca superior MAX para evitar que la leche caliente se

desborde.

 Coloque la tapa (2) en el recipiente (7).

 Coloque el recipiente (7) en la base (11).

 Presione brevemente el botón de encendido/apagado (10). El LED rojo (9) se enciende y el

batidor A (4) empieza a girar, lo que garantiza un calentamiento parejo.

 Tan pronto como la leche está caliente, el espumador para leche se apaga automáticamente y

el LED rojo (9) se apaga.

Puede detener el proceso de preparación en cualquier momento presionando

brevemente el botón de encendido/apagado (10).

 Levante el recipiente (7) de la base (11), retire la tapa (2) y use la leche caliente como desee.

 Espere unos dos o tres minutos antes de usar el espumador para leche nuevamente.

7.4. Consejos para hacer buena espuma de leche

 Le recomendamos usar leche de vaca. Otros tipos de leche se comportan de otra forma

durante el proceso de espumado. Esto puede provocar que la leche se desborde del

espumador para leche.

 Es mejor usar leche con un contenido de grasa entre 1.5 y 3.5 por ciento. La leche baja en

grasa y la leche desnatada no hacen buena espuma.

 La leche deberá estar fría.

 No intente espumar la leche una segunda vez si no le gusta la espuma de leche la primera

vez. Esto podría quemar la leche.

 Si le parece que la espuma de leche es demasiado líquida, le recomendamos que la deje

reposar unos 30 segundos. Durante este tiempo, la leche líquida se puede ir al fondo y la

espuma de leche obtiene una mejor consistencia.

7.5. Hacer espuma fría de leche

 Inserte el batidor B (5) hasta el tope en el vástago dentro el recipiente (7).

 Quite el recipiente (7) de la base (11) y vierta leche hasta la marca MIN dentro del recipiente

(7). El volumen de la leche aumenta durante el proceso de espumado. Vierta leche solo hasta

la marca superior inferior MAX para evitar que la espuma de leche se desborde.

 Coloque la tapa (2) en el recipiente (7).

 Coloque el recipiente (7) en la base (11).

 Presione el botón de encendido/apagado (10) durante unos tres segundos. El LED azul (8) se

enciende y el batidor B (5) empieza a girar. El proceso de crear espuma de leche comienza.

 Tan pronto como la espuma de leche está lista, el espumador para leche se apaga

automáticamente y el LED azul (8) se apaga.

Puede detener el proceso de preparación en cualquier momento presionando

brevemente el botón de encendido/apagado (10).

 Espere unos 30 segundos hasta que los restos de leche líquida se vayan al fondo del

recipiente (7).

 Levante el recipiente (7) de la base (11), retire la tapa (2) y use la espuma de leche como

desee.

 Espere unos dos o tres minutos antes de usar el espumador para leche nuevamente.

7.6. Hacer espuma caliente de leche

 Inserte el batidor B (5) hasta el tope en el vástago dentro el recipiente (7).

 Quite el recipiente (7) de la base (11) y vierta leche hasta la marca MIN dentro del recipiente

(7). El volumen de la leche aumenta durante el proceso de espumado. Vierta leche solo hasta

la marca superior inferior MAX para evitar que la espuma de leche se desborde.

 Coloque la tapa (2) en el recipiente (7).

 Coloque el recipiente (7) en la base (11).

 Presione brevemente el botón de encendido/apagado (10). El LED rojo (9) se enciende y el

batidor B (5) empieza a girar. El proceso de crear espuma de leche comienza.

 Tan pronto como la espuma de leche está lista, el espumador para leche se apaga

automáticamente y el LED rojo (9) se apaga.

Puede detener el proceso de preparación en cualquier momento presionando

brevemente el botón de encendido/apagado (10).

 Espere unos 30 segundos hasta que los restos de leche líquida se vayan al fondo del

7.7. Ideas para usar la espuma de leche

Puede usar su espuma de leche recién hecha en distintas bebidas.

Aquí le presentamos algunas recetas.

Mezcla vienesa

Espuma de leche

Coloque la misma cantidad de café negro recién hecho y leche caliente en una taza grande hasta

que quede a unas 0.4 pulgadas / 1 cm del borde de la taza. Vierta la espuma de leche recién

preparada.

Latte Macchiato

5 fl oz / 150 ml de leche para la espuma de leche

1 porción de espresso (1 fl oz / 25-30 ml)

Use la leche para hacer espuma de leche y vierta la espuma en un vaso de latte macchiato hasta

que el vaso esté lleno a unas tres cuartas partes. Luego, vierta lenta y cuidadosamente el espresso

en la espuma de leche. Si le gusta el café cargado, añada otra porción de espresso en este

momento. Lo ideal es que el espresso se acumule en el centro. La leche líquida está en el fondo y

la parte superior de la bebida está coronada por una capa gruesa de espuma. Si queda algo de

espuma de leche y espacio en el vaso, puede añadir con cuidado el resto de la espuma de leche.

Carajillo – bebida española con café y un shot

1 taza de espresso

0.4 fl oz / 1 cl de brandy o ron

0.4 a 0.8 fl oz / 1-2 cl rompope

1 cucharadita copeteada de azúcar refinada de caña

Espuma de leche

Agite el espresso con el brandy y disuelva el azúcar de caña en él. Coloque el rompope en un

vaso grande y deslice el espresso lentamente sobre una cuchara en el rompope. Esto crea dos

capas en el vaso. Llene el vaso con espuma de leche recién preparada.

Café con crema de nuez

1 taza de café recién hecho

2 cucharaditas de crema de nuez

Espuma de leche

Agite la crema de nuez directamente en el café recién hecho, pero asegúrese de que esté muy

caliente. Vierta la espuma de leche recién preparada.

Si lo desea, puede añadir un poco de chile en polvo y espolvorear un poco en la espuma de

leche.

8. Mantenimiento / limpieza

Desconecte siempre el enchufe de la toma de corriente antes

de empezar a limpiar la base (11). De lo contrario, existe el

riesgo de descarga eléctrica.

No vierta o rocíe líquidos en la base (11) ni la sumerja en

agua u otros líquidos. De lo contrario, existe el riesgo de

descarga eléctrica e incendio debido cortocircuitos.

Espere a que el recipiente (7) se haya enfriado por completo

antes de limpiarlo. De lo contrario se puede quemar.

No use limpiadores agresivos ni objetos abrasivos (como fibras

metálicas) para limpiarlo. De lo contrario, el espumador para

leche se puede dañar.

¡No limpie el espumador para leche y los accesorios en

el lavavajillas, esto podría dañarlos de forma

irreparable!

Lo ideal es que la limpieza la haga inmediatamente después de que se enfríe el

recipiente (7). De esta forma no se pueden secar los residuos de leche.

8.1. Proceso de limpieza simple:

 Deje en su lugar el batidor (4, 5) que se usó.

 Llene el recipiente (7) con agua, tomando en cuenta las marcas MIN y MAX, y colóquela tapa

(2).

 Deje que el espumador para leche funcione unos 30 segundos.

 Luego, enjuague el recipiente (7) con abundante agua limpia y enjuague la tapa (2) bajo el

chorro de agua.

8.2. Proceso de limpieza a fondo:

 Retire el cable de alimentación (12) de la toma de corriente.

 Retire el batidor (4, 5) que se usó.

 Limpie el interior del recipiente (7) con agua caliente y algo de detergente líquido. Use una

esponja o un trapo suave. Asegúrese de retirar los restos de leche en el vástago del batidor y

alrededor de él. Luego, enjuague el recipiente (7) con abundante agua limpia.

 Retire el sello (3) de la tapa (2) y limpie las dos piezas en agua tibia. Enjuague con agua,

seque las dos piezas bien y coloque nuevamente el sello (3) en la tapa (2).

 Limpie los batidores A y B (4, 5) con agua tibia y enjuague con agua limpia.

 Luego, enjuague el recipiente (7) con abundante agua limpia y enjuague la tapa (2) bajo el

chorro de agua.

 Limpie las superficies externas, la base (11) y el cable de alimentación (12) con un trapo

suave y húmedo, usando un detergente suave para las manchas persistentes.

Seque bien todas las piezas.

ADVERTENCIA de daños materiales

Después de limpiar y antes de volver a usar el aparato,

9. Almacenamiento del aparato cuando no está en uso

Si la espumado de leche no se va a usar durante un periodo de tiempo prolongado, guárdelo en

un lugar seguro. limpio y seco.

 Antes de guardar el aparato, límpielo completamente como se describe en la sección anterior.

10. Solución de problemas

Si su espumador para leche no funciona de manera normal, use las siguientes instrucciones para

intentar solucionar el problema. Si al tratar de resolver el problema con los siguientes consejos no

se logra eliminarlo, póngase en contacto con nuestra línea de atención (véase la sección

«Información sobre la garantía»).

10.1. El espumador para leche no funciona

 El enchufe no está conectado. Conecte el enchufe en la toma de corriente.

 La toma de corriente no funciona. Pruebe el espumador para leche en otra toma de corriente

de la que esté seguro que funciona.

 El espumador para leche no enciende. Presione el botón de encendido/apagado (10) para

encender el espumador para leche.

 El espumador para leche se sobrecalentó y la protección contra sobrecalentamiento evita que

el aparato se encienda. Espere hasta que el espumador para leche se haya enfriado. Vierta

leche hasta la marca MIN dentro del espumador para leche.

 El batidor (4, 5) insertado no gira. Es posible que el vástago del batidor esté pegado por

residuos de leche. Desconecte el enchufe y llene el recipiente (7) con un poco de agua tibia.

Deje el agua ahí durante algún tiempo y luego intente girar el vástago del batidor varias veces

con la mano. Saque el agua. El espumador para leche deberá funcionar ahora.

10.2. La leche en el recipiente no hace espuma

 Verifique que el batidor B (5) esté insertado. Inserte el batidor B (5), de ser necesario.

 El batidor B (5) no está fijado firmemente en el vástago del batidor. Empuje

el batidor B (5) hasta el tope en el vástago del batidor.

11. Información medioambiental y eliminación

Eliminación del empaque

Clasifique el empaque antes de eliminarlo. Elimine el empaque a través del servicio

local de recolección.

Eliminación de aparatos usados

¡No elimine los aparatos usados junto con la basura común! En caso de que en el

futuro ya no use este aparato, elimínelo de acuerdo con las normas vigentes en su

estado o país. Esto asegura un reciclaje profesional de los dispositivos usados y

evita las consecuencias negativas al medio ambiente.

Asegúrese de que la eliminación cumple con las normas locales y las

recomendaciones de la EPA (www.epa.gov).

12. Garantía

Garantía limitada de 3 años

Lo que cubre la presente garantía

La garantía incluye:

 Daños, quebraduras o incapacidad para funcionar debido a defectos.

 Daños que no hayan sido causados por el desgaste propio del uso o por no seguir

las instrucciones de seguridad y mantención incluidas en el manual para el usuario.

Lo que no cubre esta garantía

La garantía no cubre daños causados por:

 El desgaste propio del uso del producto, incluidas las partes frágiles (como

interruptores, piezas de vidrio, etc.).

 Uso o transporte no indicado del producto.

 Desatención a las instrucciones de seguridad y mantención.

 Accidentes o causas de fuerza mayor (e.g. relámpagos, incendio, inundación, etc.).

 Manipulación mal intencionada del producto (retirar la cubierta, tornillos, etc.).

La presente garantía tampoco cubre daños indirectos o emergentes. Sin embargo algunos estados

no permiten la exclusión o limitación de daños indirectos o emergentes, por lo que dicha exclusión

o limitación pudiera no aplicarse en su caso.

Período de cobertura y resolución de la garantía

La garantía es válida por 3 años a partir de la fecha de compra. La empresa, según lo estime

conveniente, devolverá el dinero o repondrá el producto.

La empresa no:

 Dará inicio a un nuevo período de garantía al hacerse el cambio del producto.

 Reparará el producto.
