Installation Instructions
PART NUMBER: 118886
Always wear SAFETY GLASSES
when installing wiring harness
1. Open the rear hatch. On the driver’s side , using a trim panel tool, Phillips screwdriver, or 10mm socket remove the plastic threshold cover, cargo trays, and the side panel exposing the vehicle’s taillight wiring
harness. Be careful not to break mounting tabs.
2. On the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, locate the matching vehicle’s taillight wiring harness connectors to the T-One® T-Connector mating ends. Separate this connector, being careful not to break
the locking tabs. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.
3. On the driver’s side, insert the T-One® Connector end containing the yellow wire in between the vehicle and taillight connector. All connector’s surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. Be careful not to break
any locking tabs.
4. On the driver’s side, determine a suitable mounting point. Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the double-sided tape provided.
Note: Clean flat mount surface area using a 50-50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water to mount lighting module black box.
5. Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box such as an existing ground stud or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. (Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.)
Clean dirt and rustproofing from area.
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
6. Route harness containing the green wire to the passenger side. Route wire across the threshold and behind the passenger’s side felt panel to the taillight pocket.
7. On the passenger’s side taillight pocket. Locate the connector matching the end of the T-One ® Connector. Insert the T-One ® Connector end containing the green wire in between the vehicle and taillight
connectors. All connector’s surfaces should be clean and free of dirt. Be careful not to break any locking tabs.
8. Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable. If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
9. After cutting the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal and secure to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. Wire, using the yellow Heat
Shrinkable butt connector (provided).
10. Beginning from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12 ga. Wire rearward along the frame rail avoiding any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.
11. Connect the other end of the black 12 ga. Wire to the black power wire located on the T-One ® Connector’s black box, using the yellow heat shrinkable butt connector (provided).
12. Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 8.
Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery. All connections must be complete for the T-One ® Connector to function properly. Test and verify installation
with a test light or trailer once installed. For initial test, reset vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
13. Reinstall any other items that may have been removed during installation, being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
Note: Route the 4-Flat harness through the driver’s side panel and threshold into the storage compartment; store there when not in use.
Overloading circuits can cause fires. DO NOT exceed stated product ratings. Read vehicle’s owner’s manual & instruction sheet for additional information.
1. Open the rear hatch and locate the taillights mounting screws. Using a 10mm socket or Philips screwdriver, remove the mounting screws on both driver’s and passenger’s taillights, being careful not to break
the mounting tabs.
2. Starting on the driver’s side, locate the taillight wiring connectors from the driver’s & passenger’s side. Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from both taillight sockets. Being careful not to break the locking
tabs, set taillights aside.
3. On the driver’s side and underneath the vehicle, route the harness containing the yellow wire up through the opening between the vehicle bumper and body to the driver’s side taillight pocket.
Note: For ease of installation use a fish wire between taillight pocket and rear fascia to pull harness from underneath vehicle out through the taillight pocket.
4. Locate the connectors matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end containing the yellow wire in between the vehicle and taillight connector. All connector’s surfaces should be
clean and free of dirt. Be careful not to break any locking tabs.
5. Underneath the vehicle and on the driver’s side, determine a suitable mounting point behind the rear bumper fascia. Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the double-
