This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to

Safety instructions
This section contains important safety instructions for using the appliance.
This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may
result in personal injury and property damage.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
2. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse power cord,
plugs or the appliance in water or other liquids.
3. Ensure that the appliance can never come into contact with
water. Never use the appliance near water or close to vessels
containing liquids.
4. This appliance may be used by children over the age of 14
and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
abilities or by those without experience and/or knowledge, if
they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of
the appliance and understand the potential risks.
5. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by
children unless they are older than 14 years of age and are
supervised.
6. Keep children younger than 14 years of age away from the
appliance and the power cord.
7. Children should never play with the appliance.
8. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged power cord
or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been
dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance
to the nearest authorized service provider for examination,
repair or electrical/mechanical adjustment.

10. Ensure that the power cord never gets wet or damp when
the appliance is in use. Route the cord so that it cannot be
trapped or damaged in any way. Do not let the cord hang
over the edge of the table or the counter. Do not let the cord
touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
11. Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric
burner, or in a heated oven.
12.
Unplug the appliance from the outlet when not in use and
before cleaning or moving the appliance.
13. Never pull on the power cord; always pull directly on the plug
itself. Never touch the appliance plug with wet or moist hands.
14.
Never insert cutlery or other metallic objects into the toaster
slots.
15. Bakery products may burn! Never place the appliance near
or under flammable objects, especially under curtains or
hanging cabinets.
16. Never cover the appliance while it is in operation. Risk of fire!
17. The appliance can become hot when it is in use. Therefore,
only touch the controls.
18. Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning
it.
19. Risk of burning if you do not use standard toast bread!
Because of the smaller size or shape, there is a risk of
touching hot parts when removing the toasted bread.
20. When heating toaster pastries, always use the lightest toast
color setting.
21. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
22. Do not use an external timer switch or a separate remote
control system to operate the appliance.
23. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
24. Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended
use.

Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug (one pin is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, there is only one way
this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet. If the plug does
not completely fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the
plug in any way.
a) A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord)
is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled
in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are
available and may be used if they are used carefully.
c) If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is
used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power supply
cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance;
2) If the appliance has a grounded plug, the cord set or exten-
sion cord should also be a grounded 3-wire cord; and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape
over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on
by children or tripped over.
Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for toasting slices of bread
and bread rolls in private households. It is not intended for use
with other foods or other materials.
The appliance is not intended for use in commercial or industrial
environments. It must not be used outdoors.

Operation
Tips for use
■ Avoid using slices that are too big or too thick as they can easily
become jammed in the appliance. If slices of bread become
jammed, first disconnect the plug from the power socket. Free
jammed slices of bread with a blunt wooden object (e.g. a
wooden spatula or spoon). Do not touch the heater elements.
■ Differences in types of bread, moisture content and the thickness
of individual slices have an effect on toast browning. The bread
should be stored in sealed packaging if possible.
Always start by trying out a lower browning level.
■ Use a lower browning level if you are toasting dry bread since
dry bread browns faster than fresh bread.
■ Select a higher level of browning for dark bread than for light
bread, for example wheat bread.

■ The numbers on the browning control 2 are not time indications.
They serve only as a guide for browning.
■ Wait for about 15 seconds between two toasting processes
to prevent the appliance from overheating and to obtain even
browning of bread.
■ You should only use the highest level on the browning control 2
for large slices of dark bread. At this browning level, light bread
will scorch and become inedible. In addition, it may generate
smoke. If this occurs, press the "Stop" button 3 immediately
and disconnect the power cord from the power socket.
Setting up
► Never set up the appliance close to or underneath flammable
objects/materials, especially not under curtains or suspended
cupboards. Risk of fire!
During first use, manufacturing residue may produce small
amounts of smoke and a slight odor. This is completely normal
and harmless. Ensure sufficient ventilation, for example, by
opening a window.
♦ Place the appliance on a level and heat-resistant surface.
♦ Unwind the power cord completely from the cord retainer 9
and feed it through the cord clamp 1.
♦ Insert the plug into a power socket.
♦ Operate the appliance three times without bread at the maximum
browning level setting (6) before first use (see "Toasting"
section).
♦ Clean the appliance as described in the "Cleaning" section.
The appliance is now ready for use.

Toasting
► Never cover the appliance while it is in operation. Risk of fire!
► The appliance parts can become hot during operation.
Therefore, only touch the controls. Risk of burns!
If you only want to put one piece of toast into the toaster, turn the
browning control 2 down by approx. ½–1 level to achieve the
same level of browning as with 2 pieces of toast.
The lever 8 only engages when the appliance is plugged in.
♦ Insert the bread into the toasting slots 7.
♦ Select the desired browning level. The desired browning level
can be adjusted from "light" (1) to "dark" (6) using the browning
control 2.
♦ Press down the lever 8 until it engages.
The automatic bread-centering function centers the bread in
the toasting slots7, and the toasting process begins. During
the toasting process, the indicator light integrated in the "Stop"
button 3 turns on.
♦ When the desired level of browning has been reached, the
appliance automatically turns off and the slices are ejected
upward. The integrated indicator light turns off.
Stopping the toasting process
If you wish to stop toasting, press the "Stop" button 3.
The toaster turns off and the bread slices are ejected upward.
The integrated indicator light turns off.

Reheat function
The reheat function allows you to heat the bread briefly without
browning it, for example, for toast that has gone cold.
♦ Insert the bread and press down the lever 8. The integrated
indicator light in the "Stop" button 3 turns on.
♦ Press the "Reheat" button 4. The integrated indicator light
turns on.
♦ When the reheat process is complete, the appliance turns off
automatically and the slices are ejected upward. The indicator
lights turn off.
Press the "Reheat" button 4 again to turn off the reheat func-
tion during operation. The integrated indicator light turns off and
the warming process switches to a normal toasting process.
Defrost function
Activate the defrostfunction to defrost and toast frozen toast
bread. The same browning level is achieved as when you toast
fresh bread.
♦ Set the desired browning level and insert the bread into the
toasting slots7.
♦ Press down the lever 8 until it engages. The integrated indica-
tor light in the "Stop" button 3 turns on.
♦ Press the "Defrost" button 5. The integrated indicator light
turns on.
♦ When the thawing and toasting processes are complete, the
appliance turns off automatically and the slices are ejected
upward. The indicator lights turn off.
Press the "Defrost" button 5 again to turn off the defrost func-
tion during the process. The integrated indicator light turns off
and the defrost process switches to a normal toasting process.

Heating up rolls
You can warm up rolls until they are crispy with the help of the
warming rack6.
Never place bread rolls directly on the appliance, always use the
warming rack 6.
♦ Unfold both support feet of the warming rack 6 attachment.
♦ Place the warming rack 6 on the appliance so that the feet
protrude into the toasting slots 7 and the bar between the
toasting slots 7 protrudes into the curvature of the feet. The
warming rack 6 should now stand securely on the appliance.
♦ Place the bagels/rolls on it and start the toasting process. Set
the browning control 2 to a maximum of level 2 . However,
the browning may vary depending on the consistency and type
of bagel/roll.
♦ As soon as the toaster turns off, turn the bagel/roll over to
brown the other side and turn the toaster on again.
♦ If you no longer need the warming rack 6, you can store it to
save space:
–Wait for the warming rack 6 to cool down.
–Remove it from the appliance.
–Fold in the support feet of the warming rack 6 attachment.
Crumb tray
Crumbs that fall from the bread during toasting are collected in
the crumb tray0. It should be emptied regularly.
♦ To remove the crumbs, pull out the crumb tray 0.
♦ Toss out the crumbs.
♦ Push the crumb tray 0 back into the appliance until it clicks
into place.

Cleaning
► Unplug the appliance before cleaning it! There is a risk of
electric shock!
► Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids!
Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock.
► Allow the appliance to cool sufficiently before cleaning it.
Risk of burns!
► Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents. These may
damage the surfaces.
► To avoid the risk of fire, empty the crumb tray 0 at regular
intervals.
♦ Clean the housing and the warming rack 6 with a dry cloth or,
if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth.
Storage
♦ Clean the appliance as described in the "Cleaning" section.
♦ Wind the power cord around the cord retainer 9 on the
bottom of the appliance.
♦ Store the appliance in a clean and dry place.

Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Electrical appliances may not be thrown away as part of normal

cled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum. Additional

Disposal of the packaging
Note the marking on the different packaging materials and
separate them as necessary. The packaging materials are marked
with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following
meanings: 1–7: Plastics, 20–22: Paper and cardboard,

What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
▯ Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.
▯ Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow
the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user
manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
▯ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
▯ Improper use or transport;
▯ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
▯ Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);
▯ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing
screws etc.)
Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under
this warranty. However, some states do not allow the exclusion or

Información importante sobre el cable
Este dispositivo tiene una clavija polarizada (una patilla es más

Revisión del contenido del paquete
El dispositivo se entrega de manera estándar con los siguientes

Operación
Consejos para el uso
■ Evite usar rebanadas que sean demasiado grandes o gruesas,
ya que se pueden atorar fácilmente en el dispositivo. Si las re-
banadas se atoran, primero desconecte la clavija de la toma de
corriente. Libere las rebanadas de pan atoradas con un objeto
de madera romo (p. ej., espátula o cuchara de madera). No
toque los elementos calefactores.
■ Las diferencias en los tipos de pan, contenido de humedad y
grosor de las rebanadas individuales afectan el dorado del
pan tostado. El pan debe guardarse en paquetes sellados si es
posible.
Siempre comience probando un nivel de dorado más bajo.
■ Use un nivel de dorado más bajo si está tostando pan seco, ya
que el pan seco se dora más rápido que el pan fresco.
■ Seleccione un nivel más alto de dorado para pan obscuro que
para pan blanco, por ejemplo, pan de trigo.

■ Los números en el control de dorado 2 no son indicadores de
tiempo. Sirven exclusivamente como guía para el dorado.
■ Para prevenir que el dispositivo se sobrecaliente y obtener un
dorado uniforme del pan, espere alrededor de 15 segundos
entre dos procesos de tostado.
■ Deberá usar sólo el nivel más alto del control de dorado 2
para rebanadas grandes de pan negro. A este nivel de dorado,
el pan blanco se chamuscará y no será apto para consumirse.
Además, puede generar humo. Si esto ocurre, presione el botón
"Detener" 3 de inmediato y desenchufe el cable de alimen-
tación de la toma.
Preparación
► Nunca deberá colocar el dispositivo cerca o debajo de obje-
tos inflamables, especialmente debajo de cortinas o alacenas
suspendidas. ¡Riesgo de incendio!
Puede generarse una pequeña cantidad de humo y un ligero
olor durante el uso inicial. Esto es completamente normal e
inofensivo. Asegúrese de que haya ventilación suficiente, por
ejemplo, abriendo una ventana.
♦ Coloque el dispositivo sobre una superficie nivelada y resistente
al calor.
♦ Desenrolle el cable de alimentación completamente del retén
de cable 9y páselo por la pinza para cable 1.
♦ Inserte la clavija en una toma de corriente.
♦ Use el dispositivo tres veces sin pan al ajuste máximo del nivel
de dorado (6) antes del primer uso (vea la sección "Tostado").

Si desea poner solamente una pieza de pan en el tostador, gire
el control de dorado 2 hacia abajo aprox. de ½ a 1 nivel para
obtener el mismo nivel de dorado que para 2 piezas de pan
tostado.
La palanca 8 solamente se atora cuando el dispositivo está
enchufado.
♦ Inserte el pan dentro las ranuras de tostado 7.
♦ Seleccione el nivel deseado de dorado. El nivel de dorado
deseado puede ajustarse de "claro" (1) a "oscuro" (6) con el
control de dorado 2.
♦ Presione hacia abajo la palanca 8 hasta que se atore.
La función de centrado automático del pan centra el pan en
las ranuras de tostado7, y comienza el proceso de tostado.
Durante el proceso de tostado, la luz de control integrada en
el botón "Detener" 3 se enciende.
♦ Cuando se obtiene el nivel de dorado deseado, el dispositivo
se apaga automáticamente y las rebanadas son expulsadas.
La luz indicadora integrada se apaga.
Cómo detener el proceso de tostado
Si desea detener el tostado, presione el botón "Detener" 3.
El tostador se apaga y las rebanadas de pan son expulsadas.

Función recalentar
La función recalentar le permite calentar el pan brevemente sin
dorarlo, por ejemplo, para pan tostado que se ha enfriado.
♦ Inserte el pan y presiona la palanca 8 hacia abajo. La luz
indicadora integrada en el botón "Detener" 3 se enciende.
♦ Presione el botón "Recalentar" 4. La luz indicadora integrada
se enciende.
♦ Cuando termina el proceso de recalentar, el dispositivo se
apaga automáticamente y las rebanadas son expulsadas. La
luz indicadora se apaga.
Presione el botón"Recalentar" 4 nuevamente para apagar
la función recalentar durante el uso. La luz indicadora integrada
se apaga y el proceso de calentamiento cambia a un proceso de
tostado normal.
Función descongelar
Active la función descongelarpara descongelar y tostar pan
congelado. Se obtiene el mismo nivel de dorado que al tostar pan
fresco.
♦ Ajuste el nivel de dorado deseado e inserte el pan en las ranu-
ras de tostado 7.
♦ Presione hacia abajo la palanca 8 hasta que se atore. La luz
indicadora integrada en el botón "Detener" 3 se enciende.
♦ Presione el botón "Descongelar" 5. La luz indicadora
integrada se enciende.
♦ Cuando terminan los procesos de descongelar y tostar, el
dispositivo se apaga automáticamente y las rebanadas son
expulsadas. La luz indicadora se apaga.
Presione el botón "Descongelar" 5 nuevamente para apagar
la función de descongelar durante el proceso. La luz indicadora
integrada se apaga y el proceso descongelar cambia a un
proceso de tostado normal.

Calentamiento de panecillos
Puede calentar panecillos hasta que estén dorados con la ayuda
de la rejilla de calentamiento6.
Nunca coloque panecillos directamente en el dispositivo; siempre
utilice la rejilla de calentamiento 6.
♦ Despliegue las patas de apoyo de la rejilla de calentamiento 6.
♦ Coloque a rejilla de calentamiento 6 en el dispositivo de ma-
nera que las patas sobresalgan hacia las ranuras de tostado 7
y la barra entre las ranuras de tostado 7 sobresalga hacia la
curvatura de las patas. La rejilla de calentamiento 6 deberá
ahora quedar bien fija en el dispositivo.
♦ Coloque las rosquillas o panecillos e inicie el proceso de
tostado. Ajuste el control de dorado 2 a un máximo de nivel
2 . Sin embargo, el dorado puede variar dependiendo de la
consistencia y el tipo de rosquilla o panecillo.
♦ Una vez que el tostador se apague, dé vuelta a la rosquilla
o panecillo para dorar el otro lado y vuelva a encender el
tostador.
♦ Si ya no necesita la rejilla de calentamiento 6, puede guardarla
para ahorrar espacio:
–Espere a que la rejilla de calentamiento 6 se enfríe.
–Retírela del dispositivo.
–Pliegue las patas de apoyo de la rejilla de calentamiento 6.
Bandeja para migajas
Durante el tostado, las migajas que caen del pan se recolectan en
la bandeja para migajas 0. Esta deberá vaciarse regularmente.
♦ Para remover las migajas, retire la bandeja para migajas 0.
♦ Tire a la basura las migajas.
♦ Coloque la bandeja para migajas 0 nuevamente en el dispo-
sitivo hasta que se inserte en su lugar con un clic.

Limpieza
► ¡Desconecte el dispositivo antes de limpiarlo! ¡Existe el riesgo
de descarga eléctrica!
► ¡Nunca sumerja el dispositivo en agua o cualquier otro líquido!

Eliminación del dispositivo
