Introduction
Thank you for selecting a quality Orbit timer. You will enjoy many years of
satisfactory service if proper installation and care is observed.
The Orbit Timer keeps your yard beautiful whether you are at home or away.
Orbit gives you convenience and flexibility, letting you use an automatic wat -
ering program or override the automatic program for special watering needs.
The Orbit Timer provides up to 4 start times per day with watering periods from
1 to 360 minutes per start time.
For ease of use, the User’s manual has step-by-step instructions for
installation, setup and operation. Please read the manual completely before
installation, programming and operation.
Note: Use only with two 9-volt alkaline batteries. As an option, you may use
household currents with an Orbit Transformer Model No. 62008, or appropriate
transformer matching your voltage and plug type.

Installation
General Information
1. Location
· Choose a spot where water drains away from house and window wells.
Warning: For outdoor use on cold water only.
2. Plumbing Codes
· Follow all watering and back flow (anti-siphon) prevention codes.
3. Specifications
· Water pressure: Min. 10 psi/Max. 80 psi working pressure
· Temperature: Min. 35 degrees F/Max. 110 degrees F
· Electrical: Two 9-volt alkaline batteries
4. Installing the Batteries
· Remove the two screws on the battery compartment cover using a Phillips

screwdriver. [See Figure 1] Install two fully charged alkaline batteries.
Put back plate on and replace screws.
· Two 9 volt fully-charged alkaline batteries should last an entire watering
season. However, check the timer periodically for low voltage. When the
battery power drops below the safety zone, the “Low Battery” indicator
appears on the display. Replace the batteries with new fully-charged
batteries when this appears. [See Figure 2]
4. Installing the Batteries
• Remove the two screws on the battery compartment cover using
a Phillips screwdriver. [See Figure 1] Install two fully-charged
alkaline batteries. Put back plate on and replace screws.

6. Attach a garden hose to the outlet threads.
7. Turn the faucet on slowly to check for leaks. Tighten hose fittings if there
are any leaks.
8. The Orbit timer can be programmed while attached to the valve or removed
from the valve for more convenience. See page 12 or use the Quick
Reference on the panel cover for programming instructions.
9. After programming, replace the timer by sliding it onto the valve and
securing it in place.
10. To test the valve and timer, follow steps 1-4 for Manual Operating on
page 17.
11. Close the panel cover to the timer. Your timer will automatically turn the
water on and off according to the programmed
schedule.

Apply new battery and terminal protection compound. If the batteries show
any sign of corrosion, discard them.

· To insure proper electrical operation from the timer to the base remove the
timer as needed and clean the electrical contacts on both timer and base.
Note: If the hose faucet is installed in a cold region, the timer and valve
must be removed to prevent the faucet from freezing.

Trouble Shooting
Problem/Possible Causes
Water does not turn on:
1. Programming is incorrect.
2. Batteries are too weak to operate valve.
3. Pressure is in excess of 80 psi.
4. Timer is not properly connected to base of valve.
5. Hose faucet is turned off.
6. Timer is in the off or 24 hour inhibit mode.
Water turns on and off at incorrect times:
1. More than one start time is programmed in timer.
Timer display is blank:
1. Batteries are dead.
2. Faulty display.

Timer will not operate manually:
1. Water to faucet is turned off.
2. Timer is in the system shutdown mode (off).
3. Timer is in the 24 hour inhibit mode.

When expecting freezing temperatures, timers should be
removed from the hose bib to avoid potential freeze damage.

Installation
Information générale
1. Emplacement
· Choisissez un emplacement où l’eau puisse bien s’écouler loin de la
maison et des fenêtres de sous-sol.
Mise en garde: N’utilisez qu’à l’exterieur et avec de l’eau froide
seulement.
2. Normes de plomberie
· Il faut que vous respectiez tous les codes (et normes) concernant
l’arrosage et la prévention des siphons.
3. Spécifications
· Pression de l’eau: Minimum: 10 psi (Livres par Pouces carrés)/Maximum:
80 psi (Livres par Pouces carrés)
· Température: Minimum: 35 degrés Fahrenheit/Maximum: 110 degrés F

· Electricité: Deux piles alkalines de 9 Volts
4. L’installation des piles
· Enlever les deux vis qui se trouvent sur le couvercle du compartiment à
piles, à l’aide d’un tournevis en croix, style Phillips. (Voir figure 1).
Installez deux piles alkalines complètement chargées. Remettez le
couvercle en place et revissez les vis.

4. L’installation des piles
• Enlever les deux vis qui se trouvent sur le couvercle du compar-
timent à piles, à l’aide d’un tournevis en croix, style Phillips.
(Voir figure 1). Installez deux piles alkalines complètement
chargées. Remettez le couvercle en place et revissez les vis.

· Deux piles de 9 Volts devraient en principe durer une saison d’arrosage
entière. Il faut cependant vérifier la minuterie régulièrement pour
s’assurer que le voltage n’est pas trop bas. Quand la puissance des
piles atteint un niveau trop bas pour un fonctionnement sûr, l’indication
LOW BATTERY apparaît sur l’affichage. Remplacez alors les piles par
d’autres piles complètement chargées.
5. Enlevez la minuterie en la faisant glisser tout en l’éloignant de valve.
Attachez la valve automatique à un robinet d’extérieur et serrez très fort
pour éviter les fuites. Assurez-vous qu’un joint en caoutchouc a
préalablement été inséré dans le raccordement en étain pivotant.

9. Une fois la programmation terminée, remettez la minuterie sur la valve
jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit bien en place.
10. Pour tester la valve et la minuterie, suivez les étapes 1 à 4 de la section
intitulée Opération Manuelle.
11. Refermez le couvercle du boitier sur la minuterie. Votre minuterie
ouvrira et fermera automatiquement l’eau selon les horaires que vous
aurez programmés.
La Programmation

· Appuyez simultanément sur les boutons RESET (Reinitialisation) et ARRET
pour effacer le réglage actuel.
· Appuyez sur la touche JOUR/HEURE. Le cadran indiquera un curseur

jour de la semaine désiré. Appuyez sur la touche ENTRÉE pour enregistrer.
L’heure se mettra alors à clignoter.
· Appuyez sur la touche + et tenez jusqu’à ce que le curseur avance à la
bonne heure. Appuyez sur la touche—pour reculer. Quand l’heure correcte
a été atteinte, appuyez sur la touche ENTRÉE pour enregistrer.
Réglage l’horaire de déclenchement et de la durée de l’arrosage
· Appuyez sur la touche DÉCLENCHEMENT/DURÉE. Le cadran indiquera:
START TIME (horaire de déclenchement) -:- ainsi qu’un curseur clignotant
à l’emplacement correspondant à START 1 (premier horaire de

semaine sélectionné. Le curseur clignotant se placera alors en dessous
du jour suivant. Appuyez sur la touche ENTRÉE pour choisir ce jour. Pour
sauter un jour, appuyez sur la touche SUIVANT.
· Répétez jusqu’à ce que tous les jours de la semaine désirés aient été
programmés.
· Pour un arrosage tous les deux ou trois jours seulement, appuyez sur
la touche SUIVANT pour faire avancer le curseur jusqu’à l’indication “2nd”
ou “3rd”. Appuyez sur la touche ENTRÉE. Un triangle massif apparaîtra
sous l’indication correspondant à l’intervalle choisi. (Voir Figure 8)

Quand l’arrosage commence, le symbole d’une goutte d’eau apparaît, ainsi
que l’indication ON (Marche). Le compte à rebours commence alors pour
l’horaire de déclenchement programmé sur le cadran.
Opération manuelle
La minuterie Orbit vous permet l’arrosage pendant 1 à 360 minutes. Le réglage
manuel ne change en aucune façon les programmes automatiques, ni avant, ni
après l’arrosage manuel.
· Assurez-vous que la minuterie est bien en mode automatique
(AUTO/RUN). Appuyez sur la touche MANUEL. L’indication MANUAL
apparaîtra et l’indicateur des minutes clignotera.
· Appuyez sur la touche + et continuez à appuyer jusqu’à ce que l’horloge
avance jusqu’au nombre désiré de minutes pour la durée de l’arrosage

Pour réviser un horaire de déclenchement ainsi que la durée d’ar-rosage:

Pour suspendre l’arrosage automatique pendant 24 heures:
· Avec la minuterie en mode AUTO/RUN, appuyez sur la touche EFFACER.
Le symbole goutte d’eau apparaîtra ainsi que l’indication ARRÊT, indiquant
que l’arrosage est temporairement suspendu ou arrêté pour 24 heures. (Voir

Entreposage Hors-Saison et Entretien
· Fermer l’eau au robinet d’extérieur.

et débarrasser la minuterie et la valve de toute pression.

· Enlevez les piles. Nettoyez les contacts dans le compartiment à piles.
Appliquez une nouvelle couche d’enduit protection pour pile et terminal.
Si les piles ont souffert de corrosion, jetez-les.
· Entreposez la minuterie dans un endroit sec et tempéré (evitez les
températures en dessous de zéro Celcius.)
· Pour garantir un fonctionnement électrique adéquat de la minuterie à la
base, enlevez la minuterie aussi souvent que nécessaire pour nettoyer les
contacts électriques sur la minuterie et la base.
Note: Si le robinet d’extérieur est installé dans une région froide, il est
indispensable d’enlever la minuterie et la valve pour empêcher que le
robinet ne gèle.

La Instalación
Información General
1. El lugar
· Seleccione un lugar donde se desagua el agua de la casa y las repisas
de ventana.
Advertencia: Sólo por uso en aire libre por agua fría.
2. Los códigos de plomería
· Siga los códigos de prevención para riego.
3. Las especificaciones
· Presión del agua:Min. 10 psi/Max. 80 psi presión.
· Temperatura: Min. 35 grados F/Max. 110 grados F
· Eléctrica: 2 pilas alcalinas de 9 voltios.
4. Las instalación de las pilas
· Quite los dos tornillos en la tapa del compartamento por las pilas o

You will enjoy many years of satisfactory service if proper installation and care is observed. The Orbit Timer keeps your yard beautiful whether you are at home or away. Orbit gives you convenience and flexibility, letting you use an automatic wat ering program or override the automatic program for special watering needs. The Orbit Timer provides up to 4 start times per day with watering periods from 1 to 360 minutes per start time. For ease of use, the User’s manual has step-by-step instructions for installation, setup and operation. Please read the manual completely before installation, programming and operation. Note: Use only with two 9-volt alkaline batteries.
