Wireless Key Operating Instructions The WLS929 wireless key allows you to arm and disarm your alarm system, as well as perform other keypad functions, from a unit small enough to keep in your pocket. Together with your installer, you can decide which functions you wish to have accessible from your portable key. To activate any one of the four selected functions, press and hold the appropriate button for two seconds. The WLS929 is shipped with a pre-printed function keymat with default function keys as shown. This unit is also shipped with a blank function keymat and function key stickers. If you do not wish to use the functions as printed on the keymat of the WLS929 please discuss changing the keymat with your installer. NOTE: Signals will not be received if the key is not within the range of the wireless receiver. The default functions are as follows: Stay Arming - Press this button to arm your system in the Stay mode. All perimeter zones will be armed, such as all window and door contacts, but the interior zones will remain inactive, allowing you to stay on the premises without setting off an alarm. Away Arming - Press this button to arm your system in the Away mode. Both the interior and exterior zones will be armed, allowing you to exit the premises. Disarm - Press this button to disarm your system. You do not have to enter your access code when you use the key to disarm the system. Panic - Press this button to notify your central monitoring station of a situation requiring the police, such as a break-in. Testing the WLS929 Key To test the batteries on your key, press and hold one of the arm or disarm buttons for five seconds. If the batteries are low, the Trouble light on any of your system’s keypads will turn ON. If the Trouble light turns ON, the key’s batteries must be replaced. NOTE: Pressing another button after completing the test may clear the trouble condition. The key’s batteries must still be replaced. Do not use a Fire, Auxiliary or Panic key to test your WLS929 unit as pressing these buttons will always notify your monitoring station of a non-medical emergency. Replacing the Batteries To replace the batteries, open the key’s plastic casing. To remove the casing, take a flathead screwdriver and insert it into the slot at the wide end of the plastic. Carefully twist the screwdriver to separate the top and bottom casing. Remove the old batteries from between the two metal clips. Insert the new batteries according to the diagram at right and reattach the key’s plastic casing. The WLS929 requires three A76 batteries. NOTE: The polarity of the batteries must be observed. Remplacer les Piles Pour remplacer les piles, ouvrez la boîte en plastique de votre porte-clés. Prenez un tourne-vis à lame plate et insérez le dans l'encoche sur le côté large du porte-clés. Tournez doucement le tourne-vis pour séparer le haut et le bas de la boîte. Retirez les piles usées situées entre les deux crampons métalliques. Insérez les piles neuves conformément au diagramme de droite et rassemblez la boîte du porte-clés. Le WLS929 exige trois piles de type A76. REMARQUE: La polarité des piles doit être respectée. WLS929 Changing Function Keymats The WLS929 is shipped with a pre-printed function keymat with default function keys. This unit is also shipped with a blank function keymat and function key stickers. Open up the unit by inserting a flathead screwdriver into the slot at the wide end of the plastic. Carefully twist the screwdriver to separate the top and bottom plastic. 2. Remove the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) by gripping the exposed battery clips and lifting upward, ensuring you do not touch the coils or the antenna. 3. Set the PCB down carefully. 4. Pull out the keymat inside the unit and replace it with the blank keymat. 5. Set the board back in the plastic, in the same manner it was lifted out, ensuring that the PCB’s ‘half circle’ antenna is facing up. 6. Snap the plastic casings together. 7. Program the function buttons as desired using the Installation Manual of the product with which you are using the WLS929. 8. Place the corresponding stickers for each function key on the back of the WLS929. CAUTION: Do not touch the antenna or coils when handling the PCB; this may damage the unit. Remettez le circuit dans la pièce de plastique, de la façon inverse dont vous l'avez enlevée, en vous assurant que l'antenne en "demi-cercle" pointe vers le haut. 6. Assemblez les deux parties du boîtier de plastique. 7. Programmez les touches de fonction tel que désiré à l'aide du Manuel d'installation du produit avec lequel vous utilisez le WLS929. 8.
