EDELBROCK 14” AIR CLEANER W/ BREATHABLE LID

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please study these instructions carefully before installing your new Air Cleaner Assembly. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact

our Technical Hotline at: (800) 416-8628 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, Pacific Standard Time.

Please note that the Edelbrock Air Cleaner is a universal part and may require some modifications to fit your specific application.

KIT CONTENT:

3. Thread the supplied air cleaner stud into the carburetor until the stud bottoms out.

Install the filter element and air cleaner lid to verify that the air cleaner stud protrudes

about 3/8” above the lid. Trim air cleaner stud, if necessary.

NOTE: For carburetors with tall bowl vent tubes, the use of Edelbrock air cleaner

than 1/8”.

4. To prevent possible hood damage, check for proper hood clearance using clay cones

as seen in Figure #1. Don’t shut the hood without checking clearance first!

5. Secure the air cleaner to the air cleaner stud using the supplied air cleaner nut.

NOTE: Also available are Edelbrock’s Air Cleaner “E” Nuts, #4270 (included) and #4271, which are specifically designed to fit these air

recessed area at the rear of the air cleaner base, then drill a few ¼” holes (B) in the

larger recess window to allow the fitting to breath (See Figure #2). Bolt the fitting to

the base with the ¼” nuts, bolts, and washers included with #1205. Be sure to de-burr

drilled holes before installing the adapter.

2. Check for clearance between linkages and the ventilation adapter and rotate the air

cleaner base as necessary.

FILTER ELEMENT MAINTENANCE:

These Breathable Air Cleaners are equipped with pre-oiled, cotton gauze elements and lids which are reusable.

To clean the filter element and lid, we recommend using the Edelbrock Pro-Charge™ Air Filter Cleaning Kit (#43600) to clean and re-oil your

Breathable Air Cleaners. The cleaning kit is specifically formulated with clear oil that will not damage the dyed cotton gauze elements. NOTE:

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN:

1. Retire el limpiador de aire instalado anteriormente y el perno del limpiador de aire, si

todavía no lo ha hecho.

2. Instale el empaque del limpiador de aire suministrado en el carburador y coloque la

base del nuevo limpiador de aire en el empaque del limpiador de aire.

4. Para prevenir un posible daño al cofre, revise la separación adecuada del cofre usando conos de arcilla, como se ve en la Figura 1. ¡No cierre

el cofre sin verificar primero la separación!

5. Asegure el limpiador de aire al perno del limpiador con la tuerca y correspondientes suministradas.

NOTA: También se tienen disponibles las tuercas “E” 4270 (incluido) y 4271 del limpiador de aire Edelbrock, diseñadas específicamente para

ajustar en estos limpiadores de aire con tapas respirables. Verifique más detalles en el sitio web de Edelbrock (www.edelbrock.com) o con

su minorista local de Edelbrock.

VENTILACIÓN DEL CIGÜEÑAL:

Algunas aplicaciones podrían requerir un adaptador de ventilación del cigüeñal 1205 (se vende por

separado) que se monta en el lado inferior del limpiador de aire, según el hueco visto en la figura

en los orificios perforados antes de instalar el adaptador.

2. Verifique la separación entre las articulaciones y el adaptador de ventilación y gire la base del limpiador de aire, según sea necesario.

MANTENIMIENTO DEL ELEMENTO DEL FILTRO:

Estos limpiadores de aire respirables están equipados con elementos y tapas de gasa de algodón previamente lubricados con aceite, que son

reutilizables.

Para limpiar el elemento y la tapa del filtro, recomendamos usar el kit de limpieza del filtro de aire Pro-Charge™ de Edelbrock (43600) para limpiar

elementos de gasa de algodón teñidos. NOTA: Asegúrese de dejar secar totalmente el elemento del filtro de aire antes de aplicar el aceite.

Los reemplazos de los elementos del limpiador de aire redondo de 14 pulg. (Edelbrock 43666 color rojo, 43664 color azul, 43665 color negro) y

las tapas respirables (Edelbrock 43663 color rojo, 43667 color azul y 43668 color negro) están disponibles a través de su minorista local.
