WLAN Adapter Quick installation Guide

Note: Do not insert the WLAN Adapter in your

computer until you have finished installing the

Utility and Driver.

Utility and Driver Installation

1. Turn “On” your computer. Insert the driver CD for the WLAN Card .The screen

shown below will appear.

2. Click “Driver Installation”

* Note: If the screen does not appear, you probably have the CD autoplay

function disable. Please run the autorun.exe from the CD-ROM.

3. Click on the model name of your WLAN card to install the driver.

4. Click “Next” and then follow the instructions on the screen to continue the

installation.

5. If Windows prompts “… the device has not pass Windows logo testing…” or

“…digital signature not found…”, click “Continue Anyway”.

6. Click the Finish button in this screen; both the driver and the Configuration Utility

are installed on your computer.

7. Shut down the computer.

Hardware Installation

For Card Bus or PCI WLAN cards, simply insert the card into the computer’s

PCMCIA or PCI slot after running the setup file, and then restart the computer.

After the computer boots back up, it will detect the wireless card and then start the

New Hardware Found wizard. Respond to the prompts displayed by the wizard, select

to allow Windows to install the driver, the operating system will find and load the

driver automatically.

If Windows prompts “… the device has not pass Windows logo testing…” or

“…digital signature not found…”, click “Continue Anyway”.

After the installation, find the configuration icon in the “task bar” on the lower right

hand corner of the desktop. Launch the configuration by left clicking the

Configuration Utility icon and selecting Advanced Configuration. (double-click the

icon for Win XP).

If the Configuration Utility icon is not displayed in the System Tray, you can restart

the Configuration Utility from the Start Menu by selecting “Start”, “Programs”,

“Wireless Network”, and then “Wireless Utility”.

The Configuration Utility consists of window with four tabs: Link Information,

Available Network, Profile Setting, and About. Please find information about these

tabs in the User Guide (from the CD Autorun menu, select User’s Guide and then

select the product).

Wireless Network Setup

1. Peer-to-Peer: Connects with other wireless client(s). This does not require

Access Point. Please make sure the “Network Name” (SSID or ESSID) and

“Peer-to-Peer” channel are the same for all clients in the same wireless

network. Double click on the Configuration Utility icon to open the utility.

- Click on “Profile Setting” tab and “Add” to create a new profile.

- Enter a name that the profile correspond, click “Next”.

- Enter the Network Name (SSID), at “Network Type”, click on the

drop-down arrow and select “Peer-to-Peer” (ad-hoc), and then at “Peer-to-Peer

Channel”, use the up/down arrows to select the channel number, and then click

“Next”.

- To enable Encryption, select “64 bits” or “128bits”, select “Open System”

or Shared Key” Authentication Mode, click “Next”, select “Input Method”

Alphanumeric: 5 characters for 64-bit and 13 characters for 128-bit.

Hexadecimal: 10 characters for 64-bit and 26 characters for 128-bit. The

characters needs to be 0 ~ 9 and A ~ F.

Passphrase: Type in an easy to remember phrase and the program will

generate the keys for you. The same phrase will generate the same keys.

Key Index: You can store up to 4 keys and then choose which key to use on

certain day. For example: use Key 1 for Monday and Key 2 for Tuesday.)

Click “Next”.

- On IP Setting select “Enable” or “Disable”. Click “Complete” to finish the

configuration.

Note: If selecting “Enable” and completed the IP address settings, the

Wireless Utility stores these settings for this specific profile. The next time you

connect to this wireless network with this profile, the Utility restores the IP

settings automatically to your adapter’s TCP/IP properties.

2. Access Point: Connects to wired Ethernet network via Access Point.

- Click “Available Networks” tab.

- Select the listed Wireless Network to Join.

- Click “Connect” to join the network.

* Note: If the Access Point is “WEP KEY” protected, please create a Profile

to connect to this Access Point.

Installation der Anwendungssoftware und Treiber

1. Schalten Sie den Computer ein. Legen Sie die Treiber-CD für den WLAN-Adapter

ein. Folgende Abbildung erscheint auf Ihrem Monitor.

2. Klicken Sie auf “Konfigurationsanwendungen installieren“ (Install Config

Utilities).

* Hinweis: Wenn diese Anzeige nicht erscheint, ist die Funktion CD-Autoplay

vielleicht deaktiviert. In diesem Fall geben Sie “autorun.exe“ im DOS-Modus

ein.

3. Klicken Sie auf den Typ von Adapter den Sie gerne installieren möchten.

Wenn Sie Windows 98/2K/ME/XP haben, erscheint folgende Abbildung auf Ihrem

Monitor.

4. Klicken Sie auf “Weiter” (Next) und folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem

Bildschirm, um mit der Installation fortzufahren.

5. Klicken Sie auf “Beenden” (Finish). Der Treiber und die

Konfigurations-Anwendungssoftware sind jetzt auf Ihrem Computer installiert.

Hardware Installation

Für PCMCIA- oder USB-Adapter stecken Sie den Adapter einfach ein, nachdem die

Setupdatei geladen wurde.

Sollten Sie mit einer PCI-Karte arbeiten, fahren Sie den Computer herunter, stecken

Sie die Karte in einen freien PCI-Slot und starten Sie das Betriebssystem neu.

Nachdem der Computer wieder hochgefahren ist, liest das System die Karte und

startet den New Hardware Found Wizard neu. Folgen Sie den Anweisungen, die der

Wizard Ihnen anzeigt. Klicken Sie dabei nicht auf “Treiber laden“ – das

Betriebssystem findet den Treiber automatisch.

Die Konfigurationsanwendungen können Sie aufrufen, indem Sie auf das

entsprechende Symbol und anschließend auf “Erweiterte Konfiguration“ (Advanced

Configuration) klicken.

Sollte das Symbol für die Konfigurationsanwendung nicht auf Ihrem Bildschirm

erscheinen, so können Sie diese im Startmenü aufrufen, indem Sie auf

“Programme“ (selecting Programms) klicken, und dann auf

„LAN-Konfigurationsanwendungen“ (WLAN-Utility Configuration).

Die Konfigurationsdatei besteht aus einem Fenster mit vier überlappenden Feldern:

Linkstatus, Verbindungen, Profile und Details. Weitere Informationen zu diesen

Feldern finden Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung. Starten Sie dazu das

CD-Autorun-Menü, Klicken Sie auf “Bedienungsanleitung“ (Users’s Guide) und

wählen Sie dann das Produkt aus.

Setup Drahtloses Netzwerk

1. Peer-to-Peer: Verbindet Sie mit anderen Nutzern des drahtlosen Netzwerks. Sie brauchen hierfür

keinen AP. Versichern Sie sich, dass Sie für alle Nutzer desselben Netzwerks den gleichen

Netzwerknamen (SSID bzw. ESSID) und den gleichen Peer-to-Peer-Kanal ausgewählt haben.

Doppelklicken Sie auf das Symbol für Konfigurationsanwendungen, um diese zu öffnen.

- Klicken Sie auf “Profile” (Profile Setting) und dann auf “Hinzufügen” (Add), um ein neues Profil zu

erstellen.

- Geben Sie einen Namen für das Profil ein und klicken Sie auf “Weiter” (Next).

- Geben Sie unter “Netzwerktyp” (Network Type) einen Netzwerknamen ein, klicken Sie auf den Pfeil

nach unten und wählen sie “Peer-to-Peer”. Wählen Sie hier mit Hilfe der nach oben/nach unten- Pfeile

einen Peer-to-Peer-Kanal aus. Klicken Sie auf die Nummer des Kanals und dann auf “Weiter“ (Next).

- Um das Encryption-Programm zu aktivieren, wählen Sie 64 bits oder 128 bits. Klicken Sie auf

“Weiter“ (Next).

- Um Ihre IP zu aktivieren (Enable) oder zu deaktivieren (Disable), gehen Sie auf “IP- Einstellungen”.

Klicken Sie auf “Fertigstellen“ (Complete), um die Konfiguration zu beenden.

2. Access Point: Verbindet Sie mit dem Ethernet.

- Klicken Sie auf “Verfügbare Netzwerke”. (Available Networks)

- Wählen Sie aus der Liste das gewünschte Netzwerk aus.

- Klicken Sie auf “Verbinden” (Connect).

* Hinweis: Möglicherweise müssen Sie das Profil zuvor konfigurieren, wenn das

gewünschte Netzwerk durch “WEP KEY” geschützt ist.

Installation des Utilitaires et des Drivers

1. Mettre en service votre ordinateur. Insérer le CD des drivers pour l’adaptateur

Wlan. L’écran suivant va apparaître :

Remarque: Si cet écran n’apparaît pas, vous avez probablement désactivé la

fonction autoplay de votre PC.

Lancez donc l’autorun.exe depuis leCD.

3. Appuyez sur la barre Jaune correspondant au nom de votre produit.

Pour 98/2K/ME/XP. L’écran suivant va apparaître:

configuration sont désormais installés sur votre ordinateur.

Installation Hardware

Pour les cartes PCMCIA ou USB, insérer simplement l’adaptateur après avoir effectué

la procédure d’installation.

Pour les cartes PCI, vous devez éteindre votre ordinateur, installer la carte PCI dans

un slot disponible, et redémarrer votre système.

Après le redémarrage de votre PC, il va détecter la carte Wireless et lancer l’assistant

d’ajout de matériel. Répondez aux question posées à l’écran, mais ne validez pas la

case à cocher « charger le driver d’un emplacement spécifique » ; le système

d’exploitation va trouver le driver automatiquement.

Vous pouvez lancer l’Utilitaire de Configuration en cliquant sur le bouton gauche de

la souris sur son icône, et en sélectionnant « Advanced Configuration »..

Si l’icone de l’Utilitaire de Configuration n’est pas affiché sur le bureau, vous pouvez

démarrer l’utilitaire de configuration depuis le menu Démarrer en sélectionnant

Programmes et WLAN utilitaire de Configuration.

L’Utilitaire de Configuration comprend 4 onglets: Link Status, Connections, Profile

Setting, and About. Vous trouverez les informations sur ces sujets dans le Manuel

Double cliquez sur l’icône de l’Utilitaire de Configuration pour ouvrir l’Utilitaire :

- Cliquez sur l’onglet “Profile Setting” et “Add” pour créer un nouveau profil.

- Entrez un nom correspondant au profil puis “Next”.

- Entrez un nom pour le Réseau, sur “Network Type”, cliquez sur la flèche

descendante et sélectionnez “Peer-to-Peer”, puis “Peer-to-Peer Channel”,

ulilisez les flèches haute et basse pour choisir le numéro de canal, puis cliquez

sur “Next”.

- Selectionnez “64 bits” ou “128bits” pour mettre en service la fonction

“Encryption”. Cliquez sur “Next”.

- Sur IP Setting selectionnez “Enable” ou “Disable” pour l’utilisez ou non .

Cliquez sur “Complete” pour finir la configuration.

Point d’accès: Pour se connecter à un réseau Ethernet filaire via un point d’accès.

- Cliquez sur l’icône “Available Networks”.

- Sélectionnez dans la liste le réseau choisi.

- Cliquez sur “Connect” pour vous connecter.

* Remarque: Vous devez préalablement configurer un profil si le réseau destinataire

est protégé par une clé Wep.

Instalación de las Herramientas (utility) y el

Controlador (Driver)utility

1. Encienda su computador.

Inserte el CD con el controlador para el Adaptador WLAN. Aparecerá una

pantalla de configuración.

2. Seleccione “INSTALL CONFIG UTILITIES” (instalar las herramientas de

configuración), y presione esta selección.

* NOTA: Si la pantalla de configuración no se despliega al insertar el CD, es posible que la

función de AUTOPLAY del CD esté deshabilitada. Por favor ejecute autorun.exe desde el

CD.

3. Seleccione y presione la barra amarilla con el nombre y modelo de su

producto.

Esta es la configuración en Windows 98/2K/ME/XP.

4. Presione “NEXT” (próximo) y siga las instrucciones en la pantalla para

continuar la instalación.

5. Presione el icono “FINISH” (finalizar). Ahora tanto el Controlador como las

Herramientas de Configuración están instalados en su computador

Instalación del Hardware

En el caso de adaptadores PCMCIA o USB, sólo inserte o conecte el

adaptador luego de ejecutar el programa de configuración.

Para tarjetas PCI, primero debe apagar el computador, instalar la tarjeta PCI

en un slot PCI que se encuentre disponible y encender nuevamente su

computador.

Luego de que el computador reinicie, detectará automáticamente la tarjeta de

red inalámbrica y le solicitará que configure el nuevo hardware instalado.

Siga las instrucciones, pero no seleccione la ubicación del controlador a

instalar, ya que el sistema operativo lo hará automáticamente.

Puede ejecutar la Configuración de Herramientas (Configuration Utility)

presionando con el botón izquierdo del ratón sobre su icono y seleccionando

Configuración Avanzada (Advanced Configuration).

Si el icono de la Configuración de Herramientas no se encuentra en la barra de

tareas, puede reiniciar la Configuración de Herramientas desde: INICIO

>Programas >WLAN-Utility Configuration.

La Configuración de Herramientas consiste en una ventana con cuatro

pestañas (tabs):

Estado de la conexión (Link Status),

Conexiones (Connections),

Configuracion del Perfil (Profile Setting), y

Acerca de (About).

Encontrara más información sobre estas pestañas (tabs) en la Guía del

Usuario (en el CD de instalación, seleccionando el producto).

Configuración de la Red Inalámbrica

1. Conexión Peer-to-Peer

Conecta entre si a dispositivos/hosts inalámbricos semejantes. Esto no requiere

Punto de Acceso (Access Point).

Por favor asegúrese que el Nombre de Red (SSID o ESSID) y los canales

Peer-to-Peer son los mismos para todos los hosts dentro de la misma red inalámbrica.

Presione el icono de la Configuración de Herramientas para configurar esto.

>Presione en la pestaña Configuración del Perfil (Profile Setting) y en Agregar

(Add) para crear un nuevo perfil. Ingrese un nombre para este nuevo perfil y

presione Próximo (Next). >Ingrese un nombre para la red, en Tipo de Red

(Network Type), y despliegue el menú seleccionando Peer-to-Peer, luego en

Peer-to-Peer Channel, use los cursores para seleccionar el Número de Canal y

presione Próximo (Next). >Seleccione 64 bits o 128 bits para habilitar la

Encriptación (Encryption). Presione Próximo (Next). En Configuración de IP

(IP Setting), seleccione Habilitar (Enable) o Deshabilitar (Disable). Presione

Completar para finalizar la configuración.

 

Conecta una Red Ethernet a una Red Inalámbrica.

>Presione la pestaña Redes Disponibles (Available Networks). Seleccione la Red

Inalámbrica para unirse (Wireless Network to Join). >Presione Conectar (Connect)

para unirse a esta red.

NOTA: Tal vez necesite configurar un Perfil (Profile) con anticipación, en caso de

que la red de destino tenga configurada una Llave WEP.

Installazione Utility e Drivers

1. Accendere il Pc , inserire il CD dei drivers per la WLAN Adapter .lo schermo

mostrato sotto apparirà.

2. Selezionare “Install Config Utilities.”

* Nota: se la schermata non dovesse apparire, è probabile che la funzione

Autoplay del Cd sia disabilitata. In questo caso lanciare manualmente il file

autorun.exe presente sul CD.

3. Seleziona dalla barra gialla il nome inerente al modello del prodotto.

Per utenti di windows 98/2K/ME/XP , apparirà la schermata seguente.

4. Click “Next” and then follow the instructions on the screen to continue the

installation.

5. Selezionare il tasto “Finish” , sia il driver che l’utilità di configurazione sono state

installate.

Installazione Hardware

Per gli adattatori PCMCIA e USB è semplicemente necessario inserire o collegare

l’adattatore dopo aver effettuato l’installazione del software.

Per le schede PCI è necessario spegnere il Pc, installare la scheda e riavviare il

sistema.

Dopo il riavvio il Pc troverà un nuovo Hardware e l’installazione guidata partirà in

automatico, proseguire ocn l’installazione senza vidimare l’opzione “cerca il driver

adatto” , il sistema lo troverà autonomamente.

E’ possibile lanciare l’utilità di configurazione tramite un click con il pulsante sx del

mouse sull’icone dell’utilità stessa e selezionando l’opzione “Advanced

Configuration”.

In caso l’icona non apparisse nel System Tray, è anche possibile lanciare l’utilità di

configurazione dal Menu Avvio selezionando >Programs>WLAN-Utility

Configuration.

L’utilità di configurazione è composta da una schermata e di 4 opzioni: Link Status,

Connections, Profile Setting, e About. E’ possibile ottenere informazioni su queste

opzioni nella Guida Utente (dall’ Auto-run menu del CD, selezionare User’s Guide

inerente al prodotto in uso)

Wireless Network Setup

1. Peer-to-Peer: connessione con altri client Wireless. Questa configurazione

non richiede Access Point. Assicurarsi che il “Network Name” (SSID o

ESSID) ed il canale “Peer-to-Peer” siano i medesimi per tutti i client dell

stessa rete wireless. Doppio click sull’icona dll’utilità di configurazione per

lanciarla.

- Fare Click su “Profile Setting” e selezionare “Add” per creare un nuovo

profilo.

- Inserire un nome nel profilo corrispondente e selezionare “Next”.

- Inserire un nome per la Rete, in “Network Type”, dal menu a tendina

selezionare “Peer-to-Peer”, quindi nel menu “Peer-to-Peer Channel”, usando i

tasti “su” e “giu” per selezionare il numero del canale e quindi fare click su

“Next”.

- Selezionare “64 bits” o “128bits” per abilitare la funzione “Encryption”. Fare

Click “Next”

Nel settaggio dell’ IP selezionare “Enable” o “Disable” per indicarne l’uso.

Fare Click su “Complete” per terminare la configurazione.

2. Access Point: collega una rete cablata tramite Access Point.

- Fare Click su “Available Networks” .

- Selezionare la Rete Cablata a cui ci si desidera collegare.

- Fare Click su “Connect” per collegarsi alla rete.

* Nota: è necessario configurare un Profilo anticipatamente se la rete di destinazione

ha un protezione “WEP KEY”.
