Assembly

Attach Stretch Hose by

lining the tabs on the cuff

with the notches on the

back of the vacuum. Twist

clockwise to lock hose

into place.

Remove Dirt Tank. Press

the Dirt Tank Release

Button and pull away from

vacuum.

Place the Dirt Tank

on the vacuum

by securing the

bottom in place

first, then pushing

back until you hear

a “click”.

Attach end of hose

to vacuum by sliding

square cuff into the

bracket below the

A POLARIZED PLUG

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade

is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the

plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a

Operations

WARNING

Do not plug in your vacuum until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.

Step gently on base and pull

back on handle to recline.

NOTE: The Brush Roll will automatically shut o when vacuum is locked in upright

position. Recline to reactivate.

NOTE: In the unlikely event that hair wrapped around your Brush Roll, run vacuum back

and forth on clean carpet several times to help release any wrapped hair.

Turn vacuum ON by pressing Power Switch on

(I - ON and O - OFF). Press Brush Roll switch to

run the PowerBrush for carpet cleaning (Brush

Roll is on when light on switch is illuminated).

See page 15 to maintain the Brush Roll.

NOTE: Turn o the Brush Roll when vacuuming hard or delicate surfaces that may be

caught by the rotating brush. This could include hard wood, tiled ﬂoors, small area rugs,

or frieze carpets that have long delicate ﬁbers or threads.

Above Floor Cleaning

Clean hard to reach spaces with the

Quick Release Extension Wand. Push

the release button to remove and

attach desired tool.

Attach desired tool. Use the Pet

TurboEraser® Tool for best results on

stairs. Or use the 2-in-1 Pet Brush with

soft, white bristles for sensitive/gentle

surfaces and rubber nubs to pick up

embedded pet hair.

When finished, replace the wand back

on the vacuum by sliding into place

until you hear “click.”

If desired, the Stretch Hose can be

removed from the Extension Wand. To

do so, twist hose from the back of the

wand to remove.

Vacuum Motor Protection

Turn vacuum OFF and unplug

from electrical outlet.

NOTE: The thermal protector controls the main vacuum motor only, not the brush motor.

If the thermal protector activates, brush and lights will continue to operate normally;

however, there will be no suction.

An internal thermal protector has been designed into

your vacuum to protect it from overheating. When

the thermal protector activates, the main vacuum

motor will stop operating. The front lights will remain

on, even though the motor turns off. If this happens,

proceed as follows.

When the motor cools for

approximately 30 minutes, the

thermal protector automatically

resets and cleaning may continue.

If the vacuum will not turn on or

the thermal protector continues

to activate, your vacuum may

need servicing. Contact BISSELL

Consumer Care.

Check for the source of overheating

problem (full Dirt Tank, dirty filters,

or a clog) and fix by following the

maintenance instructions.

Press the Tank Release Button and grab

the handle to pull the Dirt Tank away from

vacuum.

Hold the Dirt Tank over a trash bin

and press the Empty Button. Once

emptied, snap bottom back into place.

The Dirt Tank is full. Time to empty!

WARNING

Do not operate vacuum with damp or wet ﬁlters. Allow components to dry before reassembling the

Dirt Tank.

WARNING

Before using your vacuum, make sure that the Dirt Tank is in locked position and that all ﬁlters, both

pre- and post-ﬁlters, are in place. DO NOT operate your vacuum without these ﬁlters.

Press the Dirt Tank Release Button

and pull away from vacuum.

Twist tank cover to the unlock position

then pull up on handle.

Remove Pre-Motor Filter from top

of Dirt Tank lid by pulling out.

Both Pre-Motor Felt and Foam Filters are

washable. Clean with mild detergent, rinse

and squeeze all excess water. Allow filters

to dry completely before reinserting. Return

Pre-Motor Filters to the top of the Dirt Tank,

placing the thick Foam Filter in last.

Clean/Replace Pre-Motor Filters

WARNING

electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.

WARNING

Do not operate vacuum with damp or wet ﬁlters. Allow components to dry before reassembling the

dirt container.

NOTE: Replace ﬁlters every 3 to 6 months. Visit BISSELL.com for ﬁlter replacements.

NOTE: Washing may decrease the Febreze® odor eliminating scent.

Pull tab up to access Post-Motor Filter.

Twist filter counter-clockwise to

unlock and remove from vacuum.

When reassembling, be sure to lock the

filter back into place. The pleated filter

may NOT be washed. If dust/debris

accumulates, gently tap the filter on the

inside of a trash container.

Clean/Replace Post-Motor Filter

Remove Brush Roll, Belt, and Paddle

Wheel. Inspect for damages and

replace if necessary.

To reassemble, align two clips on each end

of Paddle Wheel with Belt on and pop back

into place. Place Brush Roll with Belt back

in. Faceplate will not close properly if all

parts are not aligned correctly.

To put faceplate back on, align the tabs

in the top of the cover and place it down

to “click” into place.

Replace Brush and Belt

Parts & Supplies

For Parts and Supplies, go to www.BISSELL.com and enter

your model number in the search ﬁeld.

Unplug and turn vacuum

over. Unscrew 10 Phillips-

head screws to remove

bottom cover.

Pull Brush Roll straight

out and slide Belt off

motor gear. Replace

Brush Roll and/or Belt.

Inspect Brush Roll by

placing it on its end

and spin. The Brush

Roll should spin freely,

multiple times by one

flick. If it doesn’t, replace

Brush Roll. Inspect Belt,

replace if it appears

damaged.

1. Place Belt back on Brush Roll.

2. Pinch Belt around Brush Roll & hook

back around the motor gear.

3. Rotate Brush Roll into place and line up

end caps.

4. Re-attach bottom cover with 10 screws.

NOTE: If an object becomes lodged in foot and brush shuts o, turn vacuum

o and unplug from electrical outlet. Remove obstruction and brush will automatically

reset when vacuum is plugged and turned back on.

There is a clog in the vacuum. Remove bottom cover and check for

any buildup of debris. Remove debris

and debris buildup before reinstalling

bottom cover.

Dirt Tank is not seated

correctly.

Press the Tank Release to release the

Dirt Tank and reseat properly.

There is a crack or hole in the

Main Hose.

If there is a crack or hole, order a new

Main Hose from the BISSELL website.

Main Hose is not connected. Locate the Main Hose and

reconnect by pushing the hose

connection.

There is a clog in the hose. Disconnect Lower Hose and check for

clogs as well. Use a broom handle to

push any debris out.

Hair wrapped around Brush Roll. Run vacuum back and forth on

clean carpet several times to release

wrapped hair.

Dirt is

escaping

Dirt Tank is full. Empty the Dirt Tank.

Filters are missing or dirty. Check to see if all of the Pre-Motor

and Post-Motor Filters are in place and

clean.

Instale la manguera extensible

UN ENCHUFE POLARIZADO

Para disminuir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, este electrodoméstico tiene un enchufe

polarizado (una de las clavijas es más ancha que la otra). Este enchufe entra en un

tomacorriente polarizado en una sola posición. Si el enchufe no entra bien en el

ADVERTENCIA

No enchufe la aspiradora antes de que se haya familiarizado con todas las instrucciones y los procedimientos de operación.

Pise suavemente la base y tire hacia

atrás de la manija para reclinar.

NOTA: El cepillo giratorio se apagará automáticamente cuando la aspiradora esté

bloqueada en la posición vertical. Recline para volver a activar.

NOTA: En el caso improbable de que haya pelo enredado alrededor de su cepillo

giratorio, pase la aspiradora hacia adelante y hacia atrás sobre una alfombra limpia

varias veces para ayudar a liberar el pelo envuelto.

Encienda la aspiradora presionando el interruptor de encendido

(I - ON (encendido) y O - OFF (apagado)) Presione el interruptor

del cepillo giratorio para usar el mismo para la limpieza de

alfombras (el cepillo giratorio está funcionando cuando la luz

del interruptor está iluminada). Consulte la página 15 para ver el

mantenimiento del cepillo giratorio.

NOTA: Apague el cepillo giratorio cuando aspire sobre superﬁcies duras o delicadas

que puedan quedar atrapadas por el cepillo giratorio. Esto podría incluir madera dura,

pisos de baldosas, alfombras pequeñas o alfombras friso que tienen ﬁbras o hilos largos

y delicados.

Limpieza por encima del nivel del piso

Limpie los espacios difíciles de alcanzar con el

tubo de extensión de liberación rápida. Presione

el botón de liberación para extraer e instalar la

herramienta deseada.

Instale la herramienta deseada. Use la herramienta

Pet TurboEraser® para obtener mejores resultados

en las escaleras. O utilice el cepillo para mascotas

2 en 1 con cerdas suaves y blancas para superficies

delicadas/suaves y protuberancias de goma para

recoger el pelo de mascota incrustado.

Cuando termine, vuelva a instalar el tubo en la

aspiradora deslizándolo en su sitio hasta que

escuche un “chasquido”.

Si lo desea, la manguera extensible se puede

extraer del tubo de extensión. Para hacerlo, gire

la manguera de la parte posterior del tubo para

extraerla.

Protección del motor de la aspiradora

Apague (OFF) la aspiradora y desenchúfela del

tomacorriente.

NOTA: El protector térmico controla el motor de aspiración principal solamente, no

el motor del cepillo. Si se activa el protector térmico, el cepillo y las luces continuarán

funcionando normalmente; sin embargo, no habrá succión.

Se ha diseñado un protector térmico interno en su aspiradora para

protegerla del sobrecalentamiento. Cuando se active el protector

térmico, el motor principal de la aspiradora dejará de funcionar. Las

luces delanteras permanecerán encendidas, aun cuando se apague el

motor. Si esto sucede, haga lo siguiente.

Cuando el motor se enfría durante

aproximadamente 30 minutos, el protector

térmico se repone automáticamente y puede

continuar la limpieza. Si no se enciende la

aspiradora o el protector térmico se sigue

activando, es posible que su aspiradora

requiera servicio. Comuníquese con Servicio al

Consumidor de BISSELL.

Verifique el origen del problema de

sobrecalentamiento (tanque de suciedad lleno, filtros

sucios o una obstrucción) y corrija siguiendo las

instrucciones de mantenimiento.

ADVERTENCIA

vaciado, presione de nuevo en su sitio.

El tanque de suciedad está lleno. ¡Ha llegado el

momento de vaciarlo!

No haga funcionar la aspiradora con ﬁltros húmedos o mojados. Permita que sequen los componentes antes de volver a armar

el tanque de suciedad.

Limpie/cambie los ﬁltros antes del motor

Presione el botón de liberación del tanque de

suciedad y tire separándolo de la aspiradora.

Gire la cubierta del tanque a la posición de desbloqueado

y luego tire hacia arriba de la manija.

Extraiga el filtro antes del motor de la parte

superior de la tapa del tanque de suciedad

tirando hacia afuera.

Los filtros antes y después del motor son lavables.

Limpie con un detergente suave, enjuague y exprima

todo el exceso de agua. Permita que los filtros se sequen

completamente antes de volver a insertarlos. Vuelva a

instalar los filtros antes del motor en la parte superior

del tanque de suciedad, colocando el filtro de espuma

grueso al final.

Limpie/cambie el ﬁltro después del motor

Presione el botón de liberación del tanque de

suciedad y tire del tanque de suciedad separándolo

de la aspiradora.

Tire hacia arriba de la pestaña para tener acceso al filtro

después del motor.

NOTA: Cambie los ﬁltros cada 3 ó 6 meses. Visite BISSELL.com por los ﬁltros de

reemplazo.

Gire el filtro hacia la izquierda para desbloquear y

extraer de la aspiradora.

Al volver a armar, asegúrese de bloquear el filtro

nuevamente en su lugar. El filtro plegado NO se

puede lavar. Si se acumula polvo y suciedad en el

filtro, golpee suavemente el filtro en el interior de

un recipiente de basura.

Quite el cepillo giratorio, la correa y la rueda

con paletas. Inspeccione para ver si hay daños y

reemplace si es necesario.

Para volver a armar, alinee dos clips en cada extremo

de la rueda de paletas con la correa puesta y vuelva

a instalar en su lugar. Instale nuevamente el cepillo

giratorio con la correa. La placa frontal no se cerrará

correctamente si todas las piezas no están alineadas

correctamente.

Para volver a instalar la placa frontal, alinee

las pestañas en la parte superior de la cubierta

y colóquela hacia abajo hasta que emita un

“chasquido” en su lugar.

Desenchufe e invierta la

aspiradora. Destornille los

10tornillos de cabeza Phillips

para extraer la cubierta inferior.

Tire del cepillo giratorio hacia

afuera y deslice la correa

sacándola del engranaje del

motor. Vuelva a instalar el cepillo

giratorio y/o la correa.

Inspeccione colocando el

cepillo giratorio sobre su

extremo y haciéndolo girar.

El cepillo giratorio debe girar

libremente, varias veces con una

sola pulsación. Si no lo hace,

reemplace el cepillo giratorio.

Inspeccione la correa, cámbiela si

parece estar dañada.

1. Coloque la correa de nuevo en el cepillo giratorio.

2. Apriete la correa alrededor del cepillo giratorio

y pase de nuevo alrededor del engranaje del motor.

NOTA: Si un objeto se atasca en la base y el cepillo se apaga, apague la aspiradora

y desenchúfela del tomacorriente. Retire la obstrucción y el cepillo se reiniciará

automáticamente cuando se enchufe la aspiradora y se vuelva a encender.

3. Haga girar el cepillo giratorio dentro de su lugar y

alinee las tapas de extremo.

4. Vuelva a fijar la cubierta inferior usando 10

tornillos.

Hay una obstrucción en la aspiradora. Extraiga la cubierta inferior y verifique si hay

acumulación de desechos. Elimine desechos y la

acumulación de desechos antes de volver a instalar la

cubierta inferior.

El tanque de suciedad no está correctamente

asentado.

Presione la liberación del tanque para liberar el tanque

de suciedad y vuelva a asentarlo correctamente.

Hay una grieta o agujero en la manguera

principal.

Si hay una grieta u orificio, solicite una manguera

principal nueva desde el sitio web de BISSELL.

La manguera principal no está conectada. Ubique la manguera principal y vuelva a conectar

presionando la conexión de la manguera.

Hay una obstrucción en la manguera. Desconecte la manguera inferior y busque también

obstrucciones. Use un mango de escoba para expulsar

Hay pelo enrollado alrededor del cepillo

Pase la aspiradora hacia adelante y hacia atrás sobre

una alfombra limpia varias veces para liberar el pelo
