Important: When using, be careful not to touch live wires or the metal leads of
the tester. This is not a diagnostic instrument and is not intended to detect a
combination of defects in a wiring circuit. It is a simple tester for detecting the
presence of voltages between 90 and 300 volts. Voltages less than 90 volts may
be present but may not be detected by this device. Any indication of wiring faults
should be referred to a qualified electrician for correction.
How to Test Outlets:
Determine if the circuit is live by inserting
the tester leads into the outlet slots.
Tester will glow if circuit is live.
Check a 3 SLOT-120VAC grounding outlet
by inserting one lead into the hot
(narrow) slot and the other lead into the
U-shaped ground slot. Tester should
glow. Then test between wide side
(neutral) and "U" shaped (ground). Tester
should NOT glow.
Check a 2-SLOT-120VAC outlet by
inserting one lead into the hot (narrow)
slot and the other into the wide slot.
Tester should glow. To determine hot
wire on 2 wire circuits, insert one probe
into the narrow slot and touch the other
probe to the metal mounting screw or
metal plate. If screw is grounded, tester
will glow. Remaining slot is the neutral.
3 SLOT-240VAC Receptacles: Test for
normal (110V) glow between round hole
(ground) and either hot side. Note
brighter glow (220V) across both hot
sides.
Note: If circuit is properly grounded,
tester will glow with same brightness as
for live circuit. If brightness is less for
ground slot, refer the condition to a
qualified electrician.

Importante: Al usar, tenga cuidado de no tocar cables eléctricamente activos o los terminales
metálicos del comprobador. Este no es un instrumento de diagnóstico y no será usado para detectar
la combinación de defectos en el cableado de un circuito. El mismo es un comprobador sencillo para
detectar la presencia de voltajes entre 90 y 300 voltios. Podrían haber presentes voltajes menores de
90 voltios no detectados por este dispositivo. Cualquier indicación de falla en el cableado deberá ser
referida a un electricista calificado para su corrección.
Cómo Comprobar las Salidas:
Para determinar si el circuito está activo inserte los
terminales del comprobador dentro de las ranuras
de las tomas de corriente. El comprobador se
iluminará si el circuito está activo.
Compruebe las salidas AC de 3-Cables con puesta a
tierra insertando un terminal dentro de la ranura
caliente (angosta) y el otro terminal dentro de la
ranura de puesta a tierra en forma de “U”. El
comprobador deberá iluminarse. Luego compruebe
entre el lado ancho (neutral) y el lado en forma de
“U” (tierra). El comprobador NO deberá iluminarse.
Compruebe las salidas de 2 ranuras insertando un
terminal dentro de la ranura caliente (angosta) y el
otro terminal dentro de la ranura ancha. El
comprobador deberá iluminarse. Para determinar
cableado caliente en circuitos de 2 cables, inserte la
sonda/terminal dentro de la ranura angosta y haga
que la otra punta de la sonda toque el tornillo
metálico de montaje o placa metálica. Si el tornillo
tiene puesta a tierra, el comprobador se iluminará.
La ranura restante es neutral.
Receptáculos de 3-Cables de 220V AC: Compruebe
la iluminación normal (110V) resultante entre el
hueco redondo (tierra) y cualquiera de los dos lados
calientes. Observe un mayor brillo (220V) a lo largo
de ambos lados calientes.
Aviso: Si el circuito está puesto a tierra
correctamente, el comprobador se iluminará con el
mismo brillo de un circuito activo. Si el brillo es
menor para la ranura a tierra, refiera esta condición
a un electricista calificado.
