recommended for use under the humidifier. Never place it on a rug or carpet, or
on a finished floor that may be damaged by exposure to water or moisture.
• Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet immediately after using and
before cleaning
• DO NOT reach for a unit that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
• DO NOT use while bathing or in the shower.
• DO NOT place or store the unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
• DO NOT place or drop into water or other liquids.
• DO NOT use water above 86° Fahrenheit.

• Only use water in the tank.

• Do not wash, adjust, or move this unit without first unplugging it from the
electrical outlet.
• Keep this unit out of reach of children. Do not allow children to use this unit
without supervision.

CAUTION: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than
the other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only
one way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature. To do so could result in
an electric shock hazard.
Unique Features and Specifications
Ultrasonic Technology
This humidifier uses ultrasonic high frequency technology to convert the water into 1–5 million
super particles that are dispersed into the air evenly.
Warm or Cool Mist Option
Choose either warm or cool mist for customized comfort.
Oscillating Head
The humidifier features a motorized nozzle that automatically oscillates 120°. The oscillating
head can also be stopped at any point in the oscillation cycle to target the mist in a specific
direction.
Auto Shut-Off Protection
When the tank is empty the unit will shut off automatically.

120V/60Hz 80 1.4 gallon – 5.11 liters
Run Time: 60 hours
Run time is calculated based on using cool water and setting the mist level between the low
and medium settings. Based on the natural humidity level in your home, the temperature of
water you use, and the mist level setting you choose, you may experience longer or shorter
run times.

Power Button
Plug unit in to a 120 volt AC electrical outlet. Push the POWER ON/OFF ( ) button to turn unit on.
ATTENTION: When the water in the tank is almost empty, the humidifying function will power
off to indicate to the user to refill the tank.
Mist Increase and Decrease
There are 5 different levels of mist output from Lowest to Highest. To increase the mist output,
press the MIST INCREASE ( ) button until the desired mist output is reached. The selected
mist level will correspond to the number of sections lit along the mist indicator light ring.
When the maximum mist output has been reached, the indicator ring light will blink once. To
decrease mist, press the MIST DECREASE ( ) button until the mist has decreased to the
output level desired. When the minimum mist output level has been reached, the indicator ring
light will blink once. (Fig.2)
Warm and Cool Mist Control
The humidifier is equipped with the option to select warm or cool mist. Each time the unit is
turned on it will start producing cool mist. The mist indicator light ring will glow with a blue light.
To select Warm Mist, press the WARM/COOL MIST button. When warm mist is selected, the
mist indicator light ring will change from blue to red and warm mist will start being produced.
To return to cool mist, press the WARM/COOL MIST button again. The mist indicator ring will
change from red to blue. (Fig.2)
NOTE: Once warm mist is selected, it will take 15 minutes to heat up before the mist
becomes warm.

When the humidifier is producing mist, press the OSCILLATION ON/OFF ( ) button to turn on
the motorized oscillation feature. The nozzle at the top of the unit will oscillate in a 120° range
from side to side. To target the nozzle and mist in a fixed direction, press the OSCILLATION
ON/OFF ( ) button when the nozzle is at the desired position and the nozzle will stop and
direct mist to the desired area only. (Fig.2)
NOTE: The oscillation feature will not operate if the humidifying function is not operating.
Oscillation feature will only work when mist is being produced.
How to Fill
CAUTION: Before filling unit with water, turn the power off and unplug the unit from the outlet.
NOTE: Always use two hands to carry the water tank.
1. To release the tank from the unit, place your fingers with your
palm facing upward into the recess in the tank handle. Press the
tank release button with your thumb. (Fig. 3)
2. Pull the water tank away from the humidifier base by the
handle and remove the water tank from the base by lifting it up
and away. Be sure not to tip or tilt the base while removing the
tank. (Fig. 4)
3. Turn the tank upside down – remove the tank cap
by turning it counter-clockwise. (Fig. 5)

4. Fill the water tank with clean, cool (not cold) water. We
recommend using distilled water if you live in a hard water area
(Fig. 6)
5. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise until tight. (Fig. 7)
6. Install the tank back on the base of the unit. Make sure the tank
is firmly seated in the base. (Fig. 8)
7. Press the tank handle into the base of the humidifier. You
will know that the tank is locked into place when the locking
mechanism clicks and the tank release button is in a raised
position. (Fig. 9)
NOTE: It is normal to have a small amount of water in the base
during and after use.

About White Dust:
Use of high mineral content hard water may cause a white mineral residue to accumulate on
surfaces in the room near the humidifier. The mineral residue is commonly called “white dust.”
The higher the mineral content (or, the harder your water is), the greater the potential for white
dust. The white dust is not caused by a defect in the humidifier. It is caused only by minerals
suspended in the water.
How and Why To Use Demineralization Cartridges:
The HoMedics demineralization cartridge will help reduce the potential for white dust, a
deposit of minerals left behind from using hard water in your humidifier. The cartridge should
be replaced every 30 – 40 fillings. The cartridge may need to be replaced more often if
you are using very hard water. Replace the cartridge when you notice an increase in white
dust build-up. If white dust still forms around the humidifier after a new cartridge has been
installed, consider using distilled water. To purchase new demineralization cartridges, model
# UHE-HDC4, go back to the retailer (where you purchased your humidifier), or
visit www.homedics.com
If you live in an area with hard water, or use a water softener, we recommend using
distilled water for better results from your humidifier. Never use water softening
additives in your humidifier.
Installation Instructions
1. Remove demineralization cartridge from packaging and let it soak in water for 10 minutes.
2. Remove the tank from humidifier base and turn it over.
3. Unscrew the tank cap by turning the cap counter-clockwise.
4. Fill the tank with water as shown in the How to Fill section of the instructions included
with your humidifier.
5. Add the soaked demineralization cartridge into the tank.
6. Replace the tank cap by turning clockwise.
7. Place the tank back on the base.

Cleaning and Care
CAUTION: Before cleaning the unit, turn power off and unplug unit from the outlet.
To Clean the Tank
Remove the tank from the humidifier base by lifting it from the
main unit. Unscrew the tank cap and rinse inside the tank
with clean water. (Fig. 10)
To remove any scale or build-up, use a 50/50 mixture of
vinegar and lukewarm water to clean the inside of the tank.
Suggestion: Clean the water tank once every two to three
weeks, depending on your water conditions.
To Clean the Ultrasonic Membrane
Remove the protective cover over the ultrasonic membrane
(Fig. 14). Remove the included brush from the storage slot
on the back of the humidifier base. (Fig. 11). Pour a 50/50
mixture of vinegar and water onto the ultrasonic membrane
and use the brush to clean the membrane. Let soak for five
minutes, then rinse as necessary until all vinegar is gone (Fig.
12). Thoroughly rinse out brush and return to storage slot.
Replace the protective cover over the ultrasonic membrane.
Suggestion: Clean the membrane once every two to three
weeks, depending on your water conditions.
NOTE: Never submerge the base in water or any liquid.
To Clean the Surface
Clean the surface of your humidifier with a clean, damp, soft
cloth as often as needed. (Fig. 13)

HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and
workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase, except as noted
below. HoMedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship
under normal use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to
Retailers.
To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, contact a Consumer Relations
Representative by telephone at 1-800-466-3342 for assistance. Please make sure to have the
model number of the product available.
No COD’s will be accepted.
HoMedics does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, Retailers, the subsequent
consumer purchaser of the product from a Retailer or remote purchasers, to obligate HoMedics
in any way beyond the terms set forth herein. This warranty does not cover damage caused
by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to the
product; improper installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/
power supply; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating part
from failure to provide manufacturer’s recommended maintenance; transportation damage; theft;
neglect; vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is at
a repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that are
beyond the control of HoMedics.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which
the product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adoption to enable it to operate
in any other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/
or authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under this
warranty.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY.
THERE SHALL BE NO OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS OR ANY OTHER OBLIGATION ON THE PART
OF THE COMPANY WITH RESPECT TO PRODUCTS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY. HOMEDICS
SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. IN
NO EVENT SHALL THIS WARRANTY REQUIRE MORE THAN THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF
ANY PART OR PARTS WHICH ARE FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE WITHIN THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD
OF THE WARRANTY. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. IF REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR DEFECTIVE
MATERIALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, HOMEDICS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE PRODUCT
SUBSTITUTIONS IN LIEU OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT.
This warranty does not extend to the purchase of opened, used, repaired, repackaged and/or
resealed products, including but not limited to sale of such products on Internet auction sites and/
or sales of such products by surplus or bulk resellers. Any and all warranties or guarantees shall
immediately cease and terminate as to any products or parts thereof which are repaired, replaced,
altered, or modified, without the prior express and written consent of HoMedics.
This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may have additional rights which may
vary from country to country. Because of individual country regulations, some of the above
limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.

PRECAUCIÓN: este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una paleta
es más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descargas,
este enchufe está diseñado para calzar de una sola forma en un
tomacorriente polarizado. Si el enchufe no encaja completamente en
el tomacorriente, invierta el enchufe. Si aún así no encaja, póngase en
contacto con un electricista calificado.
NO intente destruir esta característica de seguridad. Hacerlo podría
tener como resultado un peligro de choque eléctrico.

Tecnología ultrasónica
Este humidificador usa tecnología ultrasónica de alta frecuencia para convertir el agua en 1 a
5 millones de súper partículas que se dispersan en el aire de forma pareja.
Cabezal oscilante
El humidificador cuenta con una boquilla motorizada que oscila 120º. La cabeza oscilante
también puede detenerse en cualquier punto del ciclo de oscilación para apuntar la niebla
hacia una dirección específica.
Opción de niebla caliente o fría
Elija la niebla caliente o fría para una comodidad personalizada.
Protección de apagado automático
Cuando el tanque esté vacío, la unidad se apagará automáticamente.

El tiempo de funcionamiento se calcula en función del agua fría que se use y el nivel de niebla
que se elija entre bajo y medio. Según el nivel de humedad natural de la casa, la temperatura
del agua que use y el nivel de niebla que elija, es posible que el tiempo de funcionamiento sea
más prolongado o más breve.

Modo de uso
Botón de encendido
Enchufe la unidad en un tomacorriente de 120 voltios de CA. Presione el botón “POWER” ( )
para encender la unidad.
ATENCIÓN: Cuando el agua en el tanque es casi vacía, el poder apagará para indicar al
usuario a rellenar el tanque.
Aumento y disminución de niebla
Hay 5 niveles de salida de niebla, desde “Lowest” (el más bajo) hasta “Highest” (el más
alto). Para aumentar la salida de niebla, presione el botón MIST INCREASE ( ) hasta que
se alcance la salida de niebla deseada. El nivel de niebla seleccionado se corresponderá
con el número de secciones iluminadas lo largo del anillo niebla luz indicadora. Cuando se
haya alcanzado un máximo de niebla, el anillo indicador parpadeará una vez. Para disminuir
la niebla, presione el botón MIST DECREASE ( ) hasta que la misma haya disminuido al
nivel de salida deseado. Cuando se haya alcanzado el máximo de niebla, el anillo indicador
parpadeará una vez. (Fig.2)
Control de niebla caliente y frío
El humidificador está equipado con la opción para seleccionar niebla caliente o fría. Cada vez
que se prenda la unidad, esta comenzará a producir niebla fría. El anillo indicador de niebla se
encenderá con una luz azul. Para seleccionar niebla caliente, presione el botón WARM/COOL
MIST (niebla caliente/fría). Cuando se selecciona niebla caliente, el anillo indicador de niebla
cambiará de azul a rojo y se comenzará a producir niebla caliente. Para volver a la niebla fría,
presione el botón WARM/COOL MIST (niebla caliente/fría). El anillo indicador cambiará de rojo
a azul. (Fig.2)

NOTA: Una vez que se selecciona vapor caliente, que tomará 15 minutos para calentar antes
de la niebla se calienta.
Oscilación
Cuando el humidificador está produciendo niebla, presione el botón OSCILLATION ON/OFF
( ) para encender la función de oscilación motorizada. La boquilla en la parte superior de
la unidad oscilará en un rango de 120º de lado a lado. Para apuntar la boquilla y la niebla en
una dirección fija, presione el botón OSCILLATION ON/OFF ( ) cuando la boquilla esté en
la posición deseada y la misma se detendrá y dirigirá la niebla únicamente al área deseada.

NOTA: la función de oscilación no funcionará si la función de humidificación no está en
funcionamiento. La función de oscilación sólo funcionará cuando se esté produciendo niebla.
Cómo llenar
PRECAUCIÓN: antes de llenar la unidad con agua, apague la corriente y desenchufe la unidad
del tomacorriente.
NOTA: Siempre use las dos manos para realizar el depósito de agua.
1. Para quitar el tanque de la unidad, coloque sus dedos con la
palma apuntando hacia arriba en la parte cóncava del mango
del tanque. Presione el botón de liberación del tanque con su
pulgar. (Fig. 3)
2. Retire el tanque de agua de la base del humidificador jalando
del mango y retire el tanque de agua de la base levantándolo.
Asegúrese de no inclinar o inclinar la base mientras se quita el
tanque. (Fig. 4)
3. Dé vuelta el tanque, quite la tapa del tanque girándola hacia la
izquierda. (Fig. 5)

Sobre el polvo blanco:
El uso de agua dura con alto contenido mineral puede causar la acumulación de un residuo
mineral blanco en las superficies de la habitación cerca del humidificador. El residuo mineral
se llama comúnmente “polvo blanco”. Cuanto más alto es el contenido mineral (o más dura
es su agua), hay más posibilidades de que se forme el polvo blanco. El polvo blanco no se
debe a un defecto en el humidificador. Es causado solo por los minerales suspendidos en
el agua.
Cómo y por qué usar cartuchos de desmineralización:
El cartucho de desmineralización HoMedics ayudará a reducir la probabilidad de que
se forme polvo blanco, un depósito de minerales dejado por el uso de agua dura en
su humidificador. El cartucho debe reemplazarse cada 30 a 40 veces que se llena el
humidificador. Es probable que el cartucho tenga que ser reemplazado con más frecuencia
si usa agua muy dura. Reemplace el cartucho cuando note un aumento en la acumulación
de polvo blanco. Si aún se forma polvo blanco alrededor del humidificador luego de haber
colocado un cartucho nuevo, considere usar agua destilada. Para comprar cartuchos de
desmineralización nuevos, modelo N.º UHE-HDC4, vuelva a la tienda minorista (donde
compró su humidificador) o visite www.homedics.com
Si vive en un área que tiene agua dura o usa un ablandador de agua, le
recomendamos el uso de agua destilada para obtener mejores resultados de su
humidificador. Nunca use aditivos para ablandar el agua en su humidificador.
Instrucciones de instalación:
1. Retire el cartucho de desmineralización del envase y remójelo en agua durante 10 minutos.
2. Retire el tanque de la base del humidificador y voltéela.
3. Desenrosque la tapa del tanque girando la tapa hacia la izquierda.
4. Llene el tanque con agua como se muestra en la sección “Cómo llenar”.
5. Agregue el cartucho de desmineralización embebido dentro del tanque.
6. Vuelva a colocar la tapa del tanque enroscándola hacia la derecha.
7. Vuelva a colocar el tanque sobre la base.
Cartucho de desmineralización
4. Llene el tanque de agua con agua limpia y fresca (no fría) de
agua. Le recomendamos usar agua destilada si vive en un área
con agua dura. (Fig. 6)
5. Vuelva a colocar la tapa del tanque girándola hacia la derecha
hasta que esté ajustada. (Fig. 7)
6. Vuelva a instalar el tanque en la base de la unidad. Asegúrese
de que el tanque esté asentado firmemente. (Fig. 8)
7. Presione el mango del tanque contra la base del humidificador.
Sabrá que el tanque está trabado en su lugar cuando el
mecanismo de bloqueo y el botón de liberación del tanque esté
en la posición elevada. (Fig. 9)
NOTA: Es normal que durante y después del uso la cantidad de
agua en la base sea poca.

Diagnóstico y resolución de problemas
Limpieza y cuidado
PRECAUCIÓN: antes de limpiar la unidad, apague la corriente y desenchufe la unidad
del tomacorriente.
Limpieza del tanque de agua
Quite el tanque de la base del humidificador levantándolo
de la unidad principal. Desenrosque la tapa del tanque y
enjuague el interior con agua limpia. (Fig. 10)
Para quitar sarro o acumulación, use una mezcla de vinagre
y tibio agua (50/50) para limpiar el interior del tanque.
Sugerencia: limpie el tanque de agua una vez cada dos o
tres semanas, dependiendo de las condiciones del agua.
Limpieza del membrana ultrasónico
Retire la cubierta protectora sobre la membrana de
ultrasonidos (Fig. 14). Retire el cepillo incluido de la ranura
de almacenamiento en la parte posterior de la base del
humidificador. (Fig. 11). Vierta una mezcla de partes iguales
de vinagre y agua sobre la membrana ultrasónica y use el
cepillo para limpiar la membrana. Deje en remojo durante
cinco minutos, luego enjuague sea necesario hasta que todo
el vinagre se ha ido (Fig. 12). Enjuagar bien pincel y volver
a la ranura de almacenamiento. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta
protectora sobre la membrana
de ultrasonidos.
Sugerencia: limpie el membrana una vez cada dos o tres
semanas, según las condiciones del agua.
NOTA: Nunca sumerja la base en agua ni en ningún
otro líquido.
Limpieza de las superficies externas
Limpie la superficie de su humidificador con un paño limpio,
húmedo y blando tanto como sea necesario. (Fig. 13)
