IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when

– Any hair dryer is electrically
live even when the switch is off. To reduce the
risk of death or injury by electric shock:
1. Always unplug appliance immediately
after using.
2. Do not use while bathing or in the shower.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it can
fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in, or drop into water or
other liquids.
5. If an appliance falls into water, unplug it
immediately. Do not reach into the water.
WARNING
– To reduce the risk of burns,
electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:
1. This appliance should never be left
un attended when plugged in.
2. This appliance should not be used by, on, or near
children or individuals with certain disabilities.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as
described in this manual. Do not use attach-
ments not recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a
damaged cord or plug, if it is not work-
ing properly, if it has been dropped,
damaged, or dropped into water. Return
the appliance to a Conair Service Center
for examination and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around
dryer, even during storage.
6. Never block the air openings of the appliance
or place it on a soft surface, such as a bed
or couch, where the air openings may be
blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint,
hair, and the like.
7. Never use while sleeping or drowsy.
8. Never drop or insert any object into any
opening or hose.
9. Do not use outdoors or operate where
aerosol (spray) products are being used or
where oxygen is being administered.
10. Do not use an extension cord to operate
dryer.
11. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other
heat-sensitive areas.
12. Attachments may be hot during use.
Allow them to cool before handling.
13. Do not place appliance on any surface while
it is operating.
14. While using the appliance, keep your hair out
of it. Keep your hair away from the air inlets.
15. Do not use with a voltage converter.
For a dual-voltage hair dryer:
16. Be sure dual voltage selector is in correct
voltage position before operating. Before
plugging in, read the information about
dual voltage contained in the section of this
manual, Additional Information.
17. This appliance was set at the factory to
operate at 125 volts. Refer to Additional
Information section of this manual for
conversion to 250-volt operation.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use
only. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only.
Standard dryers are designed to operate at
110 to 125 volts AC.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature,
this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
IMPORTANT
1875 WATT OPERATING GUIDE
Use of any 1875 watt dryer on the same circuit
or fuse with other electrical products or appli-
ances may trip a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow
a 15 amp fuse.
NEVER replace the fuse with one rated
higher than the capacity of the circuit. Doing
so could result in an electrical fire.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY TIME
YOU USE APPLIANCE.
This appliance is equipped with an Appliance
Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety
feature that renders it inoperable under some
abnormal conditions, such as immersion in
water. To make sure the ALCI is functioning
properly, perform the following test. The pur-
pose of this test is to allow you to make sure
the water sensing system (ALCI) is working.
1. Plug in the appliance and press test button
on plug.
2. The appliance will stop working. There will
be an audible click and reset button will pop
out. This indicates the ALCI is functioning
properly.
3. To reset ALCI, unit should be unplugged. Then
push reset button in, and reinsert plug into
outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return
appliance to nearest service center.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs, this
unit be brought to a service center. Do not try
to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the
unit to confirm ALCI is operational. Should
the appliance go off and the reset button pop
up during use, this could indicate a malfunc-
tion in the unit. Remove plug from outlet and
allow the appliance to cool. Reinsert plug
into outlet. The appliance should function
normally. If not, return it to a Conair Service
Center for examination and repair.
SUPER STYLING GUIDE
Your best looks begin with a good haircut that’s
well maintained. Always treat hair right with
superior quality shampoos, conditioners, and
finishing products.
BRUSH/COMB ATTACHMENTS
STYLING BASICS & INSTRUCTIONS
Shampoo and condition hair with products of
your choice. Gently towel-dry hair to remove
excess moisture. Part hair into sections. Follow
the instructions to achieve your desired style.
Note: To prevent over-drying, reduce setting to
LOW when hair is almost dry.
FOR STRAIGHTENING OR RELAXING
Select the brush attachment and set dryer on
HIGH speed. Hold dryer securely in one hand
and use brush to firmly grasp a section of hair
at roots. Roll hair around brush with one turn
of your wrist, then pull downward. Continue
process until hair is dry. Repeat the above with
each hair section.
DUAL ROW STRAIGHTENING COMB
Attach to dryer and select HIGH speed. Slowly drag
attachment down hair strand to smooth away frizz
and straighten hair. The slower you pass dryer
through the strand, the straighter the result.
FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND DETANGLING
Select the detangling comb attachment and set
dryer on LOW speed. Hold dryer securely in one
hand and use a natural combing action to fluff
hair, beginning at the roots. Move from section
to section until hair is dry.
Styler/Dryer is perfect for shorter hairstyles
on men and women.
FOR CREATING FULLNESS
Select the brush attachment and set dryer on
HIGH speed. Starting at the nape of the neck,
first lift hair up and away from the scalp with
the brush, then rotate the brush downward to
the ends. Move from section to section until
hair is dry.

Para uso doméstico solamente. Utilícelo

clavija polarizada (una pata es más ancha
que la otra). Como medida de seguridad, se

entrara completamente, comuníquese con un
electricista. No intente ir en contra de esta

PRUEBE EL INTERRUPTOR DE CONTROL DE
POTENCIA ANTES DE CADA USO
Este aparato está dotado de un interruptor de
control de potencia (ALCI, por sus siglas en
inglés) que apaga el aparato inmediatamente
si éste cae al agua. Haga la prueba siguiente
antes de cada uso para asegurarse de que el
interruptor de control de potencia y el sistema
de detección de agua funcionen debidamente:
1. Enchufe el aparato y apriete el botón de
prueba
2. El aparato dejará de funcionar. Se oirá un
"clic" y el botón de reinicio saltará; esto
significa que el interruptor de control de
potencia está funcionando debidamente.
3. Para reajustar el interruptor de control de
potencia, desconecte el aparato, oprima
el botón de reinicio y vuelva a conectar el
cable.
4. Si el interruptor de control de potencia
no funcionara correctamente, regrese
el aparato a un centro de servicio
autorizado.
5. Si el aparato cayera al agua, es muy
importante que lo regrese a nuestro centro
de servicio; no intente reajustarlo.
6. Pruebe el interruptor de control de potencia
antes de cada uso para asegurarse de que
esté operativo. Si el aparato se apagara y
el botón de reinicio saltara durante el uso,
esto podría indicar un mal funcionamiento.
Si esto ocurriera, desconecte el aparato
y permita que se enfríe. Luego, vuelva a
conectar el cable a la toma de corriente. El
aparato debería funcionar normalmente. De
no ser así, regréselo a un centro de servicio
autorizado para su revisión y reparación.
GUÍA PARA UN SÚPER PEINADO
La mejor apariencia empieza por un corte de
cabello bien mantenido. Siempre cuide su
cabello con champúes, acondicionadores y
productos de peinado de calidad superior.
FUNDAMENTOS DEL PEINADO
Lave y acondicione su cabello con los productos
deseados. Séquelo suavemente con una toalla
para eliminar el exceso de agua. Divida el
cabello en secciones. Sigas las instrucciones
para crear el estilo deseado. Nota: ajuste
la temperatura a LOW (bajo) en los últimos
minutos del secado para no lastimar el cabello.
PARA ALISAR EL CABELLO
Instale el cepillo sobre el secador. Elija el
ajuste de temperatura/velocidad alto (HIGH).
Sosteniendo firmemente el secador en una
mano, agarre una sección de cabello al nivel de
la raíz con el cepillo. Enrolle el cabello alrededor
del cepillo con un giro de muñeca, y luego jale
hacia abajo. Continúe el proceso hasta que el
cabello esté seco. Repita el proceso en cada
sección.
PEINE ALISADOR CON DOS FILAS DE DIENTES
Instale el accesorio sobre el secador. Elija el
ajuste de temperatura/velocidad alto (HIGH).
Alise el cabello lentamente, desde la raíz hasta

*A GFCI is a sensitive device that reacts
immediately to a small electric current leak by
stopping the electricity flow.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
FOR DUAL VOLTAGE DRYERS
For use in the U.S.A., the voltage selector switch
should be placed in the 125 position. For use in
several countries overseas, the voltage selector
may need to be placed in the 250 position. Confirm
the voltage available at each overseas location
before using the appliance. For connection to a
250-volt supply, use an attachment plug adapter of
the proper configuration for the power supply.
For 110-125 Volt Operation
Rotate the dual voltage switch to the 125 posi-
tion. In this position, the dryer has two settings.
It provides two speeds and two heats—low
speed and low heat on LO and high speed and
high heat on HI.
For 220-250 Volt Operation
First put the HI-LO switch into LO. Rotate the
dual voltage switch to the 250 position. At 220-
250V while set at LO, the dryer operates only at
high speed with high heat. Do not attempt to
operate the HI-LO switch or change to 125
when operating on 220-250V. The switches
must be set and remain in the LO and 250
positions. A plug adapter may be necessary in
certain countries.
USER
MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenance free. No
lubrication is needed. For proper operating
performance, the dryer must be kept clean.
When cleaning is needed, unplug the cord,
allow to cool and clean dust and lint from air
intake openings with a small brush or the brush
attachment of a vacuum cleaner. The outer
surface of the dryer should be wiped clean with
a cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air intake vents will
cause the dryer to overheat. If overheating
occurs, an automatic safety device will shut
the dryer or the heat off to prevent damage or
personal injury. If the unit or the heat cycles off,
unplug the cord and allow the dryer to cool for
10 to 15 minutes before restarting. Make sure
the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be
pulled, twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the
cord tightly around the dryer. Damage will occur
at the high flex point of entry into the dryer,
causing it to rupture and short. Inspect the cord
frequently for damage. Stop use immediately
if damage is visible or unit stops or operates
intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or does not
operate properly, return it for repair to an autho-
rized Conair service representative only. No
repairs should be attempted by the consumer.
STORAGE – Important
When not in use, your dryer should be discon-
nected, allowed to cool and stored in a safe, dry
location, out of reach of children. Do not wrap
line cord around dryer. Allow the cord to hang
or lie loose and straight at the point of entry into

CIRCUITO DE FALLA A TIERRA* AHORA!
Su electricista le puede ayudar a decidir cuál
sistema escoger: un sistema removible que se
conecta a la toma de corriente o un sistema
permanente que él instalará. El Código Nacional
de Electricidad ahora exige que todos los
enchufes ubicados en los cuartos de baño, los
garajes y las partes exteriores de las casas
nuevas sean equipados con un interruptor de
control de potencia (GFCI, por sus siglas en
inglés).
¿POR QUÉ NECESITA UN INTERRUPTOR DE
CIRCUITO DE FALLA A TIERRA? La electricidad
y el agua no deben juntarse. Si su aparato
cayera al agua mientras esté conectado, una
descarga eléctrica podría causar su muerte…
aunque el interruptor esté apagado.
Un fusible o un disyuntor/
interruptor de circuito regular
no le protegerán en esta
situación. Un interruptor de
circuito de falla a tierra ofrece
más protección.

*Un interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra
(GFCI por sus siglas en inglés) es un dispositivo
sensible que reacciona inmediatamente a una
pequeña pérdida de corriente, deteniendo el
flujo de electricidad.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL
PARA LOS APARATOS DE DOBLE VOLTAJE
Ponga el selector de voltaje en la posición
“125” para uso en los Estados Unidos. Póngalo
en la posición “250” para uso en países con
suministro eléctrico de 220–250 voltios.
Averigüe el voltaje antes de enchufar el aparato.
Puede ser necesario utilizar un adaptador de
enchufes (no incluido) en algunos países.
Operación 110–125 voltios
Ponga el selector de voltaje en la posición
“125”. En esta posición, el secador ofrece
dos opciones de temperatura/velocidad:
Temperatura/velocidad baja (LO) y temperatura/
velocidad alta (HI).
Operación 220–250 voltios
Ponga el botón de temperatura/velocidad en
la posición LO. Ponga el selector de voltaje en
la posición “250”. El aparato funcionará con
temperatura y velocidad altas únicamente.
No cambie la velocidad ni la selección de
voltaje durante el uso. Deje el calor y la
velocidad en “LO” y el selector de voltaje
en “250”. Puede que sea necesario utilizar un
adaptador de enchufes en ciertos países.
INSTRUCCIONES DE
MANTENIMIENTO
Su secador requiere poco mantenimiento.
No necesita lubricación. Para que funcione
correctamente, debe mantenerlo limpio. Cuando
sea necesario limpiarlo, desconéctelo, permita
que se enfríe y quite el polvo y las pelusas de
las aberturas de aire con un cepillo pequeño
o el cepillo accesorio de una aspiradora. La
superficie exterior del secador sólo se debe
limpiar con un paño limpio.
El secador se recalentará si las aberturas
de aire están bloqueadas u obstruidas.
Si esto ocurriera, un sistema de seguridad
apagará el secador o cortará la temperatura
automáticamente para evitar daños al aparato
o heridas. Si esto sucediera, desenchufe el
aparato y permita que se enfríe por 10–15
minutos antes de encenderlo de nuevo.
Asegúrese de que las ventilaciones de aire
estén limpias.
PRECAUCIÓN
NUNCA jale, retuerza ni doble mucho el cable.
Nunca lo enrolle con fuerza alrededor del
aparato. Esto podría dañar la junta flexible que
lo conecta al aparato, produciendo su ruptura o
un cortocircuito. Revise el cable con frecuencia
para asegurarse de que no esté dañado.
Deje de usar el aparato inmediatamente
si el cable parece dañado, o si el aparato
dejara de funcionar o funcionara de manera
intermitente.

o si el aparato no funcionase correctamente,
regréselo a un centro de servicio autorizado. no
trate de repararlo.
ALMACENAJE – IMPORTANTE
Después de usar el aparato, desconéctelo,
permita que se enfríe y guárdelo en un lugar
seco y seguro, fuera del alcance de los niños.
No enrolle el cable alrededor del aparato;
permita que el cable cuelgue o que la junta que
lo conecta al aparato esté suelta y recta.
