Programador de
PIC-605
Antes de utilizar su nuevo producto Steren, lea este instructivo para evitar cualquier mal funcionamiento.
La información que se muestra en este manual sirve únicamente como referencia sobre el producto.

INSTALACIÓN OPERACIÓN
ESPECIFICACIONES
• Para evitar cualquier daño al programador, asegúrese de que los pines de los PICs a programar estén correctamente conectados.
• No coloque objetos metálicos sobre la tarjeta programadora, ni coloque la tarjeta sobre superficies metálicas.
• Este aparato no se destina para utilizarse por personas (incluyendo niños), cuyas capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales sean
diferentes o estén reducidas, o carezcan de experiencia o conocimiento.
• Los niños deben supervisarse para asegurar que no empleen el aparato como juguete.
Alimentación: 5V - - - (x USB)
Después de haber instalado el PIC-605 es recomendable que primero lo conecte antes de abrir el programa PIC-605, en caso de no
hacerlo tendrá que detectar el PIC-605 presionando “DETECT PROGRAMMER” una vez conectado.
En Windows 7 y posteriores es necesario ejecutar el programa PIC-605 como Administrador, por lo que para ejecutarlo es necesario
seleccionar del menú que aparece al presionar el botón derecho del mouse “Ejecutar como administrador”.
Una vez ejecutado el programa y reconocido el programador, deberán aparecer las siguientes opciones dentro de la pestaña “Basics”.
Identifica el PIC insertado en la base ZIF o conectado al puerto ICSP, primero asegúrese de haber
seleccionado los pines del PIC en el cuadro “IC-Socket / ICSP” y la familia en el cuadro “PIC Family”.
Considere que para la familia 12Fxxx debe seleccionarse 16Fxxx en el menú “PIC Family”.
Sólo para Windows 8, realice el siguiente procedimiento. Antes de iniciar la instalación, recuerde guardar y cerrar todos sus programas antes de
hacerlo.
IMPORTANTE
1. Presione Win+I (teclas Windows e I simultáneamente) y seleccione “Cambiar configuración de PC” en la parte inferior derecha
de su pantalla.
2. Seleccione “Uso general” y baje por el menú derecho hasta “Inicio avanzado” y seleccione “Reiniciar ahora”.
3. Su PC se reiniciará con un menú, seleccione la opción “Solucionar problemas”.
4. Seleccione “Opciones avanzadas”, “Configuración de inicio” y “Reiniciar”.
5. Su PC se reiniciará con un menú, seleccione 7 o F7 y luego “Deshabilitar el uso obligatorio de controladores firmados”.
Inserte el disco de instalación proporcionado con el PIC-605 en la unidad de CD de su computadora, o descargue los archivos en
www.steren.com.
Ejecute el programa de instalación según sea su caso:
Instalar PIC-605 Windows 98_ME_2K_XP ó Instalar PIC-605 Windows Vista_7_8 y siga las instrucciones que aparecerán en
pantalla.
Si le aparece el mensaje “¿Desea permitir que este programa de un publicador desconocido realice cambios en el equipo?” o
“¿Desea ejecutar este archivo” seleccione “Si” ó “Ejecutar”.
1. Conecte el PIC-605 a su computadora.
2. Se ejecutará el “Asistente para hardware nuevo”.
3. Seleccione “No por el momento” y presione “Siguiente”.
4. Seleccione “Buscar software de controlador en el equipo” o “Instalar desde una lista o ubicación específica” y presione “Siguiente”.
5. Seleccione “Examinar” y busque la carpeta “C:\Archivos de programa (x86)\Steren PIC-600\driver” y seleccione la carpeta
correspondiente “driver_98_Me_2k_Xp” o “driver_vista_7_8”.
6. Si le aparece un mensaje de advertencia acerca del logotipo de Windows, presione “Continuar”.
7. Si le aparece “Windows no puede comprobar el editor de este software” seleccione “Instalar este software de todas formas”.
8. Presione “Finalizar” para concluir con el proceso.
Su PC se reiniciará y podrá continuar con el proceso de instalación.
La función de “Deshabilitar el uso obligatorio de controladores frimados” desaparecerá automáticamente al reiniciar su PC.
Considere que debe tener derechos de Administrador en su computadora para instalar y ejecutar este programa.
Asegúrese de que no existe ningún PIC conectado al programador durante la conexión o desconexión.

Identify PIC in programmer
Escribe el programa previamente abierto con la opción “Select HEXFile as source” en la memoria del PIC
insertado o conectado.
Write HEX-File into PIC
Lee la memoria del PIC y lo guarda en un archivo HEX nuevo, para lo cual se debe escribir el
nombre y la ubicación del nuevo archivo .HEX.
Read from PIC into new HEX-File
Ésta es una opción para poner el PIC en modo de ejecutar cuando se ha programado a través del puerto ICSP, se debe
tener mucho cuidado de aislar muy bien el puerto ICSP del resto del circuito donde el PIC está instalado.
Target: Run
Quita la protección de código en algunos casos, depende si la protección del código fue colocada en el programa o
durante la programación.
Remove CP
Abre el archivo que será cargado al PIC, debe tener extensión .HEX
Select HEX-File as source
Compara el contenido de la memoria del PIC con el programa que se cargó previamente.
Compare PIC with HEX-File
Borra el programa o código del PIC insertado o conectado.
Erase PIC
Revisa que la memoria del PIC está vacía.

SPECIFICATIONS
• To avoid any damage to the programmer, make sure that the PIC pins to be programmed are correctly connected.
• Do not place metallic objects on the program card or place the card on metal surfaces.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities are different or
reduced, or lack experience or knowledge.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not use the appliance as a toy.
Input: 5V - - - (x USB)
After installed your PIC-605 it is recommended that you first connect it before opening the PIC-605 program, in case of failure to do so
you need to detect the PIC-605 by pressing “DETECT PROGRAMMER” once connected.
On Windows 7 and later is necessary to run PIC-605 as administrator, so to run it is necessary to select from the menu which appears
when you press the right button of the mouse “Run as Administrator”.
Once executed the program and recognized the programmer the following options must appear within the “Basics” tab.
This option identify the placed PIC on the ZIF base or connected to ICSP port. First, make sure to
select the pins in the IC-Socket / ICSP box dialog, and the family in PIC Family box dialog.
Consider that for 12Fxxx family select 16Fxxx in the “pic family” menu.
Only for Windows 8, perform the following procedure. Before you start the installation, remember to save and close all your programs before
doing so.
IMPORTANT
1. Press Win+I ( Windows key and I simultaneously) and select “Change PC settings” at the bottom right of your screen.
2. Select “General use” and lower right menu to “Advanced Start” and select “Restart now”.
3. Your PC will restart with a menu, select the option “Troubleshoot”.
4. Select “Advanced options”, “Boot configuration” and “Restart”.
5. Your PC will restart with a menu, select 7 or F7 and then “Disable the mandatory use of signed drivers”.
Insert the installation disk provided with the PIC-605 in the CD drive of your computer, or download the files in www.steren.com.
Run Setup depending on your case:
Install PIC-605 Windows 98_ME_2K_XP or Install PIC-605 Windows Vista_7_8 and follow the instructions that will appear on
screen.
If the message “Do you want to allow this program from an unknown publisher to make changes on the computer?” or “Do want
to run this file” appears, select “Yes” or “Run”.
1. Connect the PIC-605 to your computer.
2. The “New hardware wizard” will run.
3. Select “Not for the moment” and press “Next”.
4. Select “Search driver software on the PC” or “Install from a list or specific location” and press “Next”.
5. Select “Browse” and find the folder “C:\ Archivos files (x 86) \Steren PIC-605\driver” and select the appropriate folder
“driver_98_Me_2k_Xp” or “driver_vista_7_8”.
6. If see you a warning about Windows logo message, press “Continue”.
7. If “Windows cannot verify the Publisher of this software” appears, select “Install this software anyway”.
8. Press “Finish” to finalize the process.
Your PC will restart and you can continue with the installation process.
The function “Disable the mandatory use of signed drivers” will disappear automatically when you restart your PC.
Consider that you must have administrator rights on your computer to install and run this program.

Identify PIC in programmer
Writes the program previously loaded with the “Select HEX-File as source” option, into the connected PIC.
Write HEX-File into PIC
Reads the PIC memory and save into a new .HEX file, you must enter a name and location for
the new .HEX file.
Read from PIC into new HEX-File
Use this option to switch the PIC on run mode after programming it into the ICSP port, be careful to insulate the ICSP
port from the rest of the circuit where the PIC is installed.
Target: Run
Remove the code protection in some cases, it depends if the code protection was installed in the program or while
programming.
Remove CP
Select HEX-File as source
Compares the content of the PIC memory with the previously loaded program.
Compare PIC with HEX-File
Deletes the PIC program or code inserted or connected.
Erase PIC
Check that the PIC’s memory is empty.
