Ultra-2 Cleaning Steps
Step 1: In preparation for cleaning the machine
turn-off the auto-fill function by pressing the
“auger button” until the display reads “auger
on”. The auto-fill will need to be turned-off at a
pre-determined period of time prior to cleaning.
This will depend on your predicted volume thru
the rest of the day.
Step 2: When ready to begin cleaning, turn off
the refrigeration by pressing the “snowflake but-
ton” until display reads off.
Step 3: Empty the product from the hopper. Try
to get as much product out of the hopper as pos-
sible. Add warm water to help remove excess
product if needed. All dispensed product must
be thrown away and not reused. Repeat the pro-
cess for the other hopper as necessary.
Step 4: Begin the hopper tear-down process by
unplugging the lamp lid, followed by disconnect-
ing the concentrate and water lines. Remove the
hopper lid and set aside, this can not be sub-
merged in water and must be hand-washed.
Take-out the auto-fill refill probe, before you
remove the hopper. Repeat the process for the
other hopper.
Step 5: Remove the hopper, auger, hopper seal,
and auger nose seal, if used, from the machine.
With the hopper removed you can now start dis-
assembling the faucet assembly to be cleaned.
Repeat the process for the other hopper. Re-
move the drip tray and grate to be cleaned with
hopper parts. All items except for the rubber
seals can be placed in the dishwasher. It is not
recommended to use rinse agents if using the
dishwasher- as this may cause stress cracking
on the hopper.
Step 6: If you are not using the dishwasher, place
all removed and disassembled parts in the sink
to be washed with warm soapy water. Once all
parts have been washed place in a Kay-5 sanita-
tion bath (120°F) to soak for at least 5 minutes.
While the parts are soaking wipe down the exte-
rior of the machine, cooling drum, hopper drip
tray, and auto-fill refill probe.
Step 7: To re-assemble, attach the clean, hop-
per seal at the base of the cooling drum followed
by putting the auger nose seal, if used, on the
auger shaft. Place the auger over the cooling
drum pushing it as far onto the auger shaft; this
may require rotating the auger. With the machine
prepped for the hopper, reassemble the hopper
dispense faucet and ensure the auger nose bush-
ing is secured in place. Slide the hopper over the
auger and cooling drum pushing it firmly onto
the hopper seal before pressing slightly down-
ward to lock the hopper in place.
Step 8: Re-attach the auto-fill refill probe to the
hopper. Then place the hopper lid back on-top of
the hopper, plugging in the lid lamp. Re-connect
the concentrate and water lines to the back of
the hopper. Re-attach the drip tray and put the
grate in place.
Step 9: Turn the auto-fill option back on by
pressing the auger button until the display reads
“left auger refill on”. Followed by turning on the
refrigeration by pressing the “snowflake button”
until the display reads ice.

Pasos de limpieza del Ultra-2
Paso 1: En preparación para la limpieza de la má-
quina, apagar la función de auto-relleno pulsando
el “botón sinfín” (“auger button”) hasta que en
la pantalla se lea “sinfín prendido” (“auger on”).
El auto-relleno tendrá que estar apagado por un
período predeterminado de tiempo antes de em-
pezar la limpieza. Esto dependerá de su volumen
pronosticado por el resto del día.
Paso 2: Cuando esté listo para comenzar la limp-
ieza, apague la refrigeración pulsando el botón
“copo de nieve” (“snowflake button”) hasta que
en la pantalla se lea apagado (off).
Paso 3: Vacíe el producto de la tolva de una
manera que no queden residuos del producto.
Añadir agua tibia para ayudar a eliminar el exceso
de producto si es necesario. Todo el producto que
se ha vaciado debe ser dispensado en la basura
y no se debe utilizar de nuevo. Repita el mismo
proceso con la otra tolva si es necesario.
Paso 4: Comienze el proceso de desmantelamien-
to de la tolva al desenchufar la tapa de la lámpara.
Luego desconecte el concentrado y las líneas de
agua. Retire la tapa de la tolva y colocar a un lado.
La tapa no puede ser sumergida en agua y debe
ser lavada a mano. Retirar la sonda de auto-relle-
nado antes de remover la tolva. Repita el mismo
proceso con la otra tolva.
Paso 5: Retire de la máquina la tolva, broca y
sello de la tolva, si se han usado. Ahora que la
tolva se ha removido, puede empezar a desmon-
tar el montaje de la grifería para su limpieza. Re-
pita el proceso con la otra tolva. Retire la bandeja
de goteo y la rejilla para que se limpien con las
piezas de la tolva. Todos los artículos con excep-
ción de los sellos de las tolvas se pueden colocar
en la lavadora de platos. No se recomienda el uso
de agentes de enjuague si se utiliza la lavadora
de platos, ya que puede causar agrietamientos
en la tolva.
Paso 6: Si usted no está usando la lavadora de
platos, coloque todas las piezas desmontadas en
el fregadero para lavarse con agua tibia y jabón.
Una vez que todas las piezas se hayan lavado
colocarlas en un baño de saneamiento Kay-5 y
dejarlas en remojo durante varios minutos. Mien-
tras las piezas se remojan, limpiar el exterior de
la máquina, tambor de enfriamiento, bandeja de
goteo de la tolva y la sonda de auto-relleno con un
trapo limpio y humedecido con agua tibia.
Paso 7: Para volver a montar, colocar el sello de
la tolva limpia encima del reborde que se encuen-
tra en la parte trasera del tambor de enfriado y
oprimir con firmeza en su lugar. Alinee los man-
gos de los sinfines con los sinfines. Empuje los
sinfines lo máximo posible y rótelas de modo que
la cara plana del mango del sinfin esté alineada
con la cara plana del pico del sinfin. Instale el buje
del pico del sinfin dentro del frente interno de la
tolva. Instale la tolva cuidadosamente encima de
los sinfines y los tambores de enfriado. Deslícelas
en su lugar y empújelas hasta que los pulsadores
que traban las tolvas encajen en su lugar.
Paso 8: Vuelva a colocar la sonda de relleno au-
tomático a la tolva. Luego coloque la tapa de la
tolva de nuevo en la parte superior de la tolva.
Enchufe la lámpara de la tapa. Vuelva a conec-
tar el concentrado y las líneas de agua a la parte
trasera de la tolva. Vuelva a colocar la bandeja de
goteo y poner la rejilla en su lugar.
Paso 9: Prenda la opción auto-relleno pulsando
el “botón sinfín” (“auger button”) hasta que en
la pantalla aparezca ”sinfin izquierdo prendido”
(“left auger refill on’). Luego encender la refriger-
ación pulsando el “ botón copo de nieve” (“snow-
flake button”) hasta que en la pantalla diga “hielo”
(“ice”).
