3. If you have a car alarm, the car alarm must be put into “Valet Mode”. Many
popular car alarms will cut off power to the vehicles electrical system. If you
have this type of alarm, the Self Charge Auto Jumper will not work if the
alarm is engaged.
4. Make sure your cigarette lighter socket is clean and free of debris.
5. Plug the Self Charge Auto Jumper into the cigarette lighter socket.
6. Push the “On/Off” button to the “On” Position.
7. The light on the 12 Volt cigarette connector will illuminate to show charging
has begun. The interior light will also illuminate.
8. If the light or dial does not brighten, turn on the ignition key to the
“Accessories” position (see vehicle owner’s manual). If your vehicle’s 12 Volt
cigarette lighter or power source is off when the ignition is off, be sure the
ignition key is set to the “Accessories” position during the recharging process.
9. If the interior light does not brighten, turn off the interior light. Allow the unit to
remain in the cigarette lighter for at least 35 minutes.
10. Attempt to start the vehicle. If the vehicle does not start, DO NOT attempt to
start the engine more than twice. Call a service center or tow truck.
Recharging the Self Charge Auto Jumper:
1. To recharge the Self Charge Auto Jumper through the vehicle, push the
“On/Off” button to the “On” position, and simply leave the Self Charge Auto
Jumper plugged into the cigarette lighter socket for 30 to 60 minutes while
the engine is running. This will provide enough charge for future use.
2. Do not leave the Self Charge Auto Jumper plugged into the vehicle cigarette
lighter socket when the vehicle is not running. This will not cause any
damage to your vehicle battery, but may discharge the Self Charge Auto
Jumper.
