that the operator of the John Bunn DigiO2 Finger Pulse Oximeter shall pay attention
to and abide by. There are additional safety statements in other chapters or sections,

patient or user’s safety or measurement performance. Thereafter, inspect the device at
least once a week.

DO NOT open the oximeter housing. It contains no serviceable parts. Service must be
performed by trained, authorized personnel only. Otherwise, device failure and health
hazard may occur.
EXPLOSION HAZARD: Do not use the oximeter in the presence of ammable anesthet-
ics, explosive substances, vapors or liquids.
The oximeter is designed for real-time and rapid measurement. It is not suitable for
long-time continuous patient monitoring. DO NOT apply the sensor to the same nger
for more than two hours. If any readings are found to be abnormal, please change the
position of the sensor.
The oximeter is intended only as an adjunct in patient assessment. It must be used in
conjunction with clinical signs and symptoms. It is intended as a measuring, not a treat-
ment, device.

Magnetic and electrical elds are capable of interfering with the proper performance of
the oximeter. For this reason, ensure that all external devices operated in the vicinity of
the oximeter comply with the relevant EMC requirements. Mobile phones, X-ray equip-
ment, and/or MRI devices are a possible source of interference, as they may emit high
levels of electromagnetic radiation.
DO NOT clip this device on edema or tender tissue.
The infrared light emitted from the device (it is invisible) is harmful to the eyes. DO NOT
stare into the light.
Keep this device out of the reach of children.
sCautions
To ensure patient safety, use only parts and accessories specified in this manual.
Keep the oximeter away from dust, vibration, corrosive substances, explosive mate-
rials, high temperature and moisture.
If the oximeter gets wet, stop operation immediately and do not resume operation
until it is dry. When it is carried from a cold environment to a warm and/or humid
environment, allow it to warm to room temperature before using it.
DO NOT use sharp objects to press the front panel button.
DO NOT immerse the oximeter in liquid.

Intended use
The John Bunn DigiO2 Finger Pulse Oximeter, which combines a sensor and monitor
into one device, is used to measure pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2 ) value, pulse rate
value, and blood perfusion index (PI) or pulse strength in home or clinical settings. It is
designed for adult and pediatric patients, and ts ngers of thickness .39" - .87" (10mm
- 22mm).
Contraindications
WARNING: DO NOT use the oximeter while the patient is undergoing MRI or CT scan-
ning.

Features
The John Bunn DigiO2 Finger Pulse Oximeter provides a simple way to spot-check
patients by combining the sensor and monitor into one integrated, compact, easy to
use device with single-button operation. The oximeter can accurately measure pulse
oxygen saturation (SpO2 ) value, pulse rate value, and blood perfusion index (PI) or
pulse strength. When a nger is inserted into the sensor's rubber cushion, the SpO2
value and pulse rate value automatically display on the screen. The oximeter features
a bright-color LED screen with multi-directional displays that enable the user to read
results from any angle. The oximeter features both audible and visible alarms and a low
voltage indicator. The oximeter powers off automatically in eight seconds when not in
use. The oximeter provides approximately 2,000 spot checks with the use of alkaline
batteries.

1. Refer to Figure 3; insert two AAA batteries, oriented
as shown, into the battery compartment.
2. Replace the cover.
Note: Ensure that the batteries are correctly installed. In-
correct installation will prevent the device from operating.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:
Ensure that the finger is dry before being inserted into the oximeter.
Do not shake the finger; keep finger motionless during oximeter use.
Avoid placing the device on a limb which is wrapped with a cuff for blood pressure mea-
surement or undergoing venous infusion.
Ensure that no obstruction (contamination, scar tissue, fingernail polish, acrylic fingernail,
etc.) exists at the site where the sensor is placed; such obstruction could affect the signal
received by the sensor and result in an incorrect measurement.
Vigorous exercise and electrosurgical device interference may affect the measuring ac-
curacy.
1. Open the clip as shown in Figure 4.
2. Insert nger into the clip's rubber cushion (en-
sure that the nger is correctly positioned), and
then gently clip the nger.
3. The device will power on automatically in two
seconds, and start to display the software ver-
sion number.

4. The screen will then display the data as
shown in Figure 5. After the waveform
and value become stable, the user can
read the information on the display
screen.
5. When the screen displays as shown in
Figure 5, press the Display Key to change
the display screen's orientation:
a. Press the Display Key once; the
display screen will rotate 180° and
display as shown in Figure 6.
b. Press the Display Key twice; the
screen will now display as shown in
Figure 7.
c. Press the Display Key three times;
the display screen will rotate 180°
and display as shown in Figure 8.
d. Press the Display Key four times; the display screen will return to the original
screen as shown in Figure 5.

6. Press the Display Key for approximately
two seconds; the screen will display as
shown in Figure 9. Differences between
Figure 9 and Figure 5 are as follows:
a. In Figure 5, SpO2 and PR (pulse rate)
are being monitored and displayed
on the screen.
b. In Figure 9, SpO2 and PI (blood perfu-
sion index) are being monitored and
displayed on the screen.
7. Press the Display Key twice; the screen will now display as shown in Figure 10.
8. The Display screen as shown in Figure 9 or Figure 10 will return to the original
screen as shown in Figure 5 or Figure 6 if without operation in ten seconds.
9. Alarm Indicator: When measuring, if SpO2 value and pulse rate value are outside the
preset alarm limits, the device will alarm automatically and the value which is out-
side the limit will ash on the screen; press the Display Key to suspend the alarm
beep (see alarm table below).

REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING: DO NOT open the oximeter housing. It contains no serviceable parts.
Service must be performed by trained, authorized personnel only. Otherwise, device
failure and health hazard may occur.
Maintenance
In order to ensure the oximeter's longevity and continued dependable operation,
please observe the following maintenance recommendations.
Change the batteries when the low-voltage indicator displays.
Clean the surface of the device before using: Wipe the device with alcohol, then let it air dry or wipe it
dry. Repeat as necessary.
Take out the batteries if the oximeter will not be used for a long period of time.
Keep the device in a dry environment. Humidity may shorten the life of the device, or even damage it.

Cleaning and Disinfection
1. Do not immerse the device in liquid. Clean the device only by using a surface-clean
technique: Wipe with a clean, soft cloth saturated with a solution of 75% isopropyl
alcohol.
If low-level disinfection is required, wipe with a 1:10 bleach to water solution.
2. Wipe with a clean, soft cloth saturated with clean water and air dry, or dry with a
clean, soft cloth.

Campos eléctricas y magnético son capaces de interferir con la prestación correcto del
oxímetro. Por esta razón, asegure que todos los aparatos externos operados en la vecin-

tamente. Cuando el aparato se cambia de un ambiente frió a uno caliente o húmedo,
permite que se caliente a la temperatura del cuarto antes de usarlo.

Temperatura alta o desinfección usando vapor de alta presión no es permitido para
el oxímetro. Refiere al manual para instrucciones para limpiar y desinfección. Refie-

manual para instrucciones para limpiar y desinfectar.
Uso Entendido
El John Bunn DigiO2 Oxímetro de Pulso de uso Dactilar, que combine un censor y moni-
tor en un aparato entendido para medir el valor de la saturación del pulso de oxígeno
(SpO2), el valor de frecuencia de pulso y índice de perfusión de sangre (PI) o fuerza de
pulso en escenarios de casa y clínicas . Es deseando para adultos y pacientes pediátri-
cos, y cave en dedos que son grueso de .39" - .87" (10mm – 22mm).
Contraindicaciones
Advertencia: NO DEBE usar el oxímetro cuando el paciente está debajo un MRI o
exploración de CT.

Características
Este John Bunn DigiO2 Oxímetro de Pulso de uso Dactilar provee un método simple para
chequear a los pacientes combinando un censor y monitor en un aparato integrado y com-
pacto que es fácil de usar y que tiene operación de un botón. El John Bunn DigiO2 Oxímetro
de Pulso de uso Dactilar puede ser usado para medir el valor de la saturación del pulso
de oxígeno (SpO2), el valor de frecuencia de pulso y índice de perfusión de sangre (PI) o
fuerza de pulso. En poniendo su dedo en el censor, el valor de SpO2 y de frecuencia de pulso
se vera en la pantalla automáticamente. El oxímetro tiene una pantalla de LED con color
brillante que da más colores vibrantes y tiene una vida de operación mas largo. La pantalla
es de dirección múltiple para que el usuario pueda leer los resultados de cual quiere ángulo.
El oxímetro tiene alarmes audibles y visuales y también tiene un indicador de voltaje baja.
El oxímetro se apagara automáticamente en 8 segundos cuando no está en uso. El oxímetro
provee aproximadamente 2000 inspecciones en el alto usando baterías de alcalina.

2. Coloque el protector.
Aviso: Asegurase instalar las baterías correctamente. Instala-

INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
Avisos:
Asegure que el dedo está seco antes de insertarlo en el oxímetro.
El dedo debe estar seco antes de ponerlo correctamente en el oxímetro.
No debe hacer temblar su dedo cuando estás usando el aparato.
Evite poner el aparato en el mismo brazo donde tiene el medidor de presión o cuando se
está siendo un infusión venosa.
No permite que ningún obstrucción (contaminación, cicatriz, esmalte, unas acrílicas etc.)
esté en el sitio donde está colocado el censor. Estos obstrucciones pueden afectar la señal
recibidos por el censor y puede resultar en una medida incorrecta.
Ejercicio vigoroso y interferencia de un aparato electro quirúrgica pueden afectar la preci-
sión de medir.
1. Abre el aparato como se ve en la Figura 4.
2. Mete su dedo en el cojín de goma (asegurase que
su dedo está en la posición correcta).
3. El aparato se aprenderá automáticamente en 2
segundos, y le enseñará el número de la versión de
software.

5, apreté el Botón de Mostrar para cambiar
la pantalla:

pantalla se volteará 180° grados (como
se ve en la Figura 6).
b. Apreté el Botón de Mostrar dos veces,
la pantalla se cambiara a la Figura 7.
c. Apreté el Botón de Mostrar tres veces, la pantalla (que se ve como en la Figura 8)
se volteará 180° grados.
d. Apreté el Botón de Mostrar cuatro veces, la pantalla se volviera a la pantalla
original como en la Figura 5.

6. Apriete el Botón de Mostrar por un periodo
mas largo (2 segundos), la pantalla se ve
como en la Figure 9. Las diferencias entre
Figura 9 y la Figura 5 son los siguientes:
a. En la Figura 5, el valor de la saturación
del pulso de oxígeno (SpO2) y el valor
de frecuencia de pulso son observados
en la pantalla.
b. En la Figura 9, el valor de la saturación del pulso de oxígeno (SpO2) y índice de
perfusión de sangre (PI) o fuerza de pulso son observados en la pantalla.
7. Apreté el Botón de Mostrar dos veces, la pantalla se cambiara a la Figura 10.
8. La pantalla que se ve en la Figura 9 o Figura 10 se volverá a la pantalla original como
se ve en la Figura 5 o Figura 6 si no hay operación en 10 segundos.
9. Indicador de Alarma: Cuando estás mediando, si el valor de la saturación del pulso de
oxígeno y frecuencia de pulso sobrepasa los limites del alarme, el aparato automática-
mente pone el alarme y el valor en que excede se vera en la pantalla; en este tiempo
apreté el Botón de Mostrar para suspender el sueno del alarme (vea la tabla de alarmes).

REPARACIÓN Y MANTENIMIENTO
Advertencia: NO DEBE abrir la carcasa del oxímetro. No contiene partes servibles.
Servicio debe ser hecho solamente por un personal autorizado. Si no, falla del aparato
y daño a la salud puede ocurrir.
Mantenimiento
Para asegurar la longevidad y operación continuado seguro del oxímetro, por favor
observe las siguientes recomendaciones para mantenimiento.
Cambie las baterías cuando el indicador del voltaje bajo que se ve en la pantalla.
Limpie la supercie del aparato antes de uso. Limpie el aparato con alcohol primero, déjalo que se seca y
límpialo hasta que está seco. Repito si es necesario.
Saque las baterías del oxímetro si no va usar el aparato por un periodo de tiempo largo.
Guarde el aparato en un ambiente seco. Humedad puede reducir o dañar la vida del aparato.

Limpiar y Desinfectar
1. No debe sumergir este aparato en líquidos. Limpia solamente con la técnica de lim-
piar supercie. Debe usar la gasa suave y saturarlo con la solución de 75% isopropí-
lico alcohol. Si se necesita desinfectar de un nivel baja, usa una solución de lejía de
1:10.
2. Limpie con un paño suave y limpio saturado en agua limpia. Sécalo con un paño
seco y limpio.
