Be sure to lay the subwoofer on its longer side as shown in the picture. The diagram above shows the basic positioning of each speaker. a Center speaker (not included) b TV (not included) c Front speakers (not included) d Surround speakers (not included) Note: This speaker system is designed so as to be able to be used in close proximity to the TV, but irregular coloring may result due to how the system is placed. If such distortion occurs, turn off the TV for between 15 and 30 minutes. The demagnetizing function of the TV will eliminate the distortion. If the irregular coloring is still visible, move the speaker further away from the TV. Attaching speaker feet ● No coloque ningún objeto encima de este aparato. In such cases, attach the accessory speaker feet as shown in the illustration. (To prevent damage to the speakers, lay them on top of a soft cloth before attaching the speaker feet.) 2 ● Adosando las patas de altavoz A El volumen alto de los altavoces puede hacer que se muevan en algunos pisos. Note: ● Before making the connections, switch OFF the power to the receiver (or amplifier). ● Check the input impedance and output power of the receiver before making any connections. (See “Speaker impedance and allowed input” below.) ● Be sure to connect only positive (+) wires to positive (+) terminals, and negative (–) wires to negative (–) terminals. If your receiver does not have a “SUBWOOFER” terminals A First connect the front speakers to the out terminals on this unit. Then connect this unit to the “FRONT” terminals on your receiver. Speaker impedance and allowed input When connected to the receiver’s “SUBWOOFER” terminals When connected to the receiver’s “FRONT” terminals Impedance Allowed input 16 Ω 160 W (DIN) 8Ω 80 W (DIN) Caution: The subwoofer should only be connected to receivers that have output ratings equal to, or less than, the above. You risk blowing either the receiver or your speaker if you use a stronger receiver. This may result in fire. Note Nota ENGLISH ESPAÑOL 1. Be sure to reduce the volume on the receiver (or amplifier) when the signal input exceeds the rated allowable input to avoid damage to circuitry or other malfunctions. 2. Avoid placing in areas as follows: ● In direct sunlight ● Near heating appliances or other sources of heat ● Where there is high humidity 3. Never use alcohol, paint thinner, benzine or similar chemicals to clean the unit, as they may damage the finish. FRANÇAIS Protection circuitry SVENSKA This unit incorporates speaker protection circuitry to protect the speaker from damage caused by excessive input or abnormal signals; when excess input is detected, input is automatically interrupted. ■ If sound is interrupted... 1. Reduce the volume of the receiver (or amplifier). 2. Check the sound source and connections for any problems. If there is no problem, the protection circuitry will reset in a few minutes. ■ After the protection circuit is reset... Take care not to increase the receiver’s volume too high. 1.
