BATTERY INSTALLATION
Lift off the battery cover on the back of the unit. Install 1 AA alkaline
battery according to the polarity indicated. Close the battery cover.
After battery installation, the unit will beep then display 12:00 p.m. 1/1/2000
and the room temperature. The time zone will default to PST - Pacific
Standard Time.
SETTING TIME
About the Atomic Clock
The National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins,
Colorado broadcasts the time signal (WWVB at 60kHz AM radio signal) with
an accuracy of 1 second per every 3,000 years. The signal will able to cover
over a distance up to 2,000 miles from the source. Like a typical AM radio,
your Atomic Clock will not able to receive the WWVB signal in places sur-
rounded by heavy concrete or metal panels. The reception of the time
signal can be affected by mobile phones, tv, electrical appliances or other
electronic interference. To get the best performance of the Atomic clock,
please install the home receiver near a window and away from large metallic
objects. If the unit is not working properly, change the unit position. There
may be some interference at this location.
TIME ZONE
Press “ ZONE” button to select from the following time zones in the U.S.-
PST - Pacific Standard Time
MST - Mountain Standard Time
CST - Central Standard Time
EST - Eastern Standard Time
1. Once a Time Zone is selected, your atomic clock will start to receive
the signal.
2. While the atomic clock is searching, the icon will change gradually
indicating the seek condition.
3. If a valid signal is available, the atomic clock will display the correct local
time in about 3 - 5 minutes. The tower icon and “OK” will appear on
the display.
4. If the first reception is not successful, the clock will attempt every hour
until successful.
5. Try setting the unit in multiple locations for best reception. Remember to
place the unit away from sources of interference such as mobile phones,
appliances, TV etc.
6. If signal is not available when setting up, you may need to enter the time
manually.
MANUAL SETTING FOR CLOCK & CALENDAR
1. Hold “SET ” button for 3 seconds to enter clock set.
2. Select Year - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the home
receiver to adjust year setting. Press “ SET ” button to confirm your
selection.
3. Select Month - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the
home receiver to adjust month setting. Press “ SET ” button to confirm
your selection.
4. Select Day - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the home
receiver to adjust day setting. Press “ SET ” button to confirm your
selection.
5. Select 12 hour or 24 hour setting - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on
the back of the home receiver. Press “ SET ” button to confirm your
selection.
6. Select Hour - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the home
receiver to adjust hour setting. Press “ SET ” button to confirm your
selection.
7. Select Minute - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the
home receiver to adjust minute setting. Press “ SET ” button to confirm
your selection.
Fahrenheit/Centigrade Selection - You can now select either
Centigrade or Fahrenheit temperature readings. Press “ SET ” button
to select between centigrade or fahrenheit readings.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
INSTRUCTIONS
• Extreme temperatures, shock or areas of unusual vibration
should be avoided to prevent damage to the unit.
• Clean the unit using only a soft, damp cloth to wipe. Do not
use solvents, abrasives, detergents or other strong cleaning
agents. After cleaning, wipe surfaces with a dry cloth.
• Do not submerge unit in water or other liquids.
• Do not subject the unit to extremely severe temperatures -
DO NOT PLACE UNITS INTO OVENS, FREEZERS or
MICROWAVE UNITS.
NOTE: Opening the housing of the Unit will invalidate your
warranty. Do not attempt to repair this unit – There are no
consumer serviceable parts.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
What is the recommended battery type?
Your unit will come with 1 “AA” alkaline battery. We
recommend using only alkaline batteries for replacements.
NOTE: Keep the remote sensor out of direct sunlight and
rain. Do not set on or next to metal surface.
NOTE: There are no consumer serviceable parts. All
questions or service request should directed to our
consumer relations department. (See Warranty section for
contact information.
TO TURN DST (Daylight Savings Time) ON/OFF
Hold the “ZONE” button for 2 seconds to switch from DST or ST (Standard
Time)*
*In parts of Arizona and Indiana where Daylight Savings Time is not
applicable, set to DST off (DST icon will appear on display when DST
function is turned on, the clock is ready to get daylight saving time).
SETTING ALARM TIME
1. Hold the “ALARM” button for 2 seconds. Press “+ , - ” to enter the
desired Hr/ Min values and press “ALARM” to confirm setting.
2. To view alarm time - Press “ALARM” button. Alarm time will display for
5 seconds and then resume to normal clock thereafter.
3. To select between daily alarm and snooze alarm - Press “ - ” button to
turn daily alarm or snooze alarm on/off.
4. The unit will provide either a daily alarm, which last for 2 minutes or a
snooze mode where the alarm will repeat every 8 minutes until manually
cleared (see SNOOZE/LIGHT section below.)
SNOOZE/ LIGHT
1. Press the SNOOZE/ LIGHT button (on top of unit) for an extended
backlight.
2. In snooze alarm mode, press this button to trigger a repetitive 8 minute
snooze alarm.
3. When normal alarm mode is selected, press the button to turn off alarm
for one day.

HoMedics guarantees this product free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original purchase,
except as noted below.
This HoMedics product warranty does not cover damage caused by
misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized
accessory; alteration to the product; or any other conditions whatsoever
that are beyond our control. This warranty is effective only if the product is
purchased and operated in the USA. A product that requires modification
or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country other than the country
for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or
repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under
warranty. HoMedics shall not be responsible for any type of incidental,
consequential or special damages. All implied warranties, including but
not limited to those implied warranties of fitness and merchantability, are
limited in the total duration of two years from the original purchase date.
To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, either hand deliver
or mail the unit and your dated sales receipt (as proof of purchase),
postpaid, along with check or money order in the amount of $5.00
payable to HoMedics to cover handling.
Upon receipt, we will repair or replace, as appropriate, your product and
return it to you, postpaid. If it is appropriate to replace your product, we
will replace the product with the same product or a comparable product
at our option. Warranty is solely through our Service Center. Service of
this product by anyone other than HoMedics Service Center voids
warranty.
This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may have
additional rights which may vary from state to state. Because of
individual state regulations, some of the above limitations and
exclusions may not apply to you.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA
Levante la tapa de la batería en el respaldo de la unidad. Instale una batería AA alcalina
de acuerdo a la indicación de la polaridad. Cierre la tapa de la batería.
Después de instalar la batería, la unidad emitirá un pitido luego indicará las 12:00 p.m.
1/1/2000 y la temperatura ambiente. El huso horario indicará por defecto la Hora Estándar
del Pacífico – PST.
AJUSTE DE LA HORA
Sobre el Reloj Atómico
El Instituto Nacional de Normas y Tecnología (NIST) en Fort Collins, Colorado, transmite
la señal de la hora (señal de radio WWVB a 60kHz AM) con el grado de precisión de 1
segundo en 3.000 años. Esta señal llega a una distancia de 2.000 millas de la emisora.
Como cualquier radio AM, su reloj atómico no podrá recibir la señal WWVB en áreas
rodeadas por estructuras pesadas de cemento o paneles metálicos. La recepción de la
señal de la hora puede verse afectada por teléfonos celulares, la televisión, los
electrodomésticos y otras fuentes de interferencia electrónica. Para lograr el mejor
funcionamiento del reloj atómico, instale el recibidor doméstico cerca de una ventana y
lejos de objetos metálicos grandes. Si la unidad no funciona correctamente, cambie la
posición de la unidad. En esa ubicación puede haber alguna interferencia.
HUSO HORARIO
Oprima el botón “ZONE” (zona) para seleccionar las siguientes zonas horarias en los
EE.UU.
PST – Hora Estándar del Pacífico
MST – Hora Estándar de las Rocky Mountains
CST – Hora Estándar Central
EST – Hora Estándar del Este
1. Una vez seleccionado el huso horario, su reloj atómico empezará a recibir la señal.
2. Mientras el reloj atómico busca la señal, el icono cambia gradualmente indicando la
condición de la búsqueda.
3. Si se encuentra disponible una señal válida, el reloj atómico indicará la hora local
correcta en cerca de 3 a 5 minutos. El icono de la torre y “OK” aparecerán en la
pantalla.

4. Si la primera recepción no es exitosa, el reloj ensayará otra vez cada hora hasta
tener éxito.
5. Ensaye ubicando la unidad en diferentes lugares para lograr la mejor recepción.
Recuerde de colocar la unidad lejos de fuentes de interferencia, tal como los
teléfonos móviles, electrodomésticos, la TV, etc.
6. Si no es posible conseguir la señal cuando hace los ajustes, puede necesitar
ingresar la hora manualmente.
AJUSTE MANUAL DEL RELOJ Y DEL CALENDARIO
1. Oprima y sostenga el botón “SET” por 3 segundos para ingresar al modo de ajuste
del reloj.
2. Selección del Año – Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo del receptor
doméstico para ajustar el año. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar su selección.
3. Selección del Mes – Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo del receptor
doméstico para ajustar el mes. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar su selección.
4. Selección del Día – Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo del receptor
doméstico para ajustar el día. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar su selección.
5. Selección del ajuste de 12 horas o de 24 horas – Use los botones “+, -” en el
respaldo del receptor doméstico. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar su
selección.
6. Selección de la Hora– Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo del receptor
doméstico para ajustar la hora. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar su selección.
7. Selección de los Minutos – Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo del
receptor doméstico para ajustar los minutos. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar
su selección.
Selección de Grados Fahrenheit/Centígrados – Usted puede seleccionar ahora la
lectura de la temperatura en grados Fahrenheit o Centígrados. Oprima el botón
“SET” para seleccionar entre la lectura en centígrados o fahrenheit.
INSTRUCCIONES DE CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO
• Para prevenir daños a la unidad, es importante evitar temperaturas extremas, golpes
o las áreas que presenten vibraciones anormales.
• Limpie la unidad usando sólo un trapo suave y húmedo para limpiar. No use
solventes, abrasivos, detergentes u otros agentes limpiadores agresivos. Después
de limpiar las superficies, séquelas con un paño seco.
• No sumerja la unidad en agua u otros líquidos.
• No someta la unidad a temperaturas extremas – NO COLOQUE LA UNIDAD EN
HORNOS, CONGELADORES o APARATOS A MICROONDAS.
ATENCIÓN: El abrir la carcasa de la unidad anula la garantía. No trate de repara esta
unidad – No hay partes que necesiten servicio por parte del usuario.
SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
¿Cuál es el tipo de batería recomendada?
Su unidad viene equipada con 1 batería “AA” alcalina. Recomendamos reemplazarla sólo
con baterías alcalinas.
ATENCIÓN: Mantega el sensor remoto fuera de la luz solar directa. No lo sitúe sobre
o cerca de superficies metálicas.
ATENCIÓN: No hay piezas que necesiten servicio por parte del usuario. Todas
las preguntas o los pedidos de mantenimiento deben ser dirigidos a nuestro
departamento de relaciones con el consumidor. (Ver la sección de Garantía para la
información del contacto).
PARA APAGAR/ENCENDER (ON/OFF) el “HORARIO DE
VERANO” (Daylight Savings Time)
Oprima y sostenga el botón “ZONE” por 2 segundos para cambiar de DST ó ST
(Standard Time)*
*En ciertas áreas de Arizona o Indiana donde no se aplica el Horario de Verano, ajuste el
reloj con DST (daylight savings time) apagado - (El icono del DST aparece en la pantalla
cuando la función de DST queda encendida; el reloj está listo para aplicar el horario de
verano).
AJUSTE DE LA ALARMA
1. Oprima y sostenga el botón “ALARM” por 2 segundos. Oprima “+, -” para ingresar
los valores deseados de Horas/Minutos (Hr/Min) y oprima “ALARM” para confirmar
los ajustes.
2. Para visualizar la hora de la alarma – Oprima el botón “ALARM”. La hora de la
alarma aparece en la pantalla por 5 segundos y luego vuelve a la pantalla normal del
reloj.
3. Para seleccionar entre la alarma diaria y la alarma repetida – Oprima el botón “-”
para encender/apagar la alarma diaria o repetida.
4. La unidad ofrece el modo de alarma diaria, que dura 2 minutos, o el modo de alarma
repetida, en el cual la alarma se repite cada 8 minutos hasta que quede apagada
manualmente (ver la sección ALARMA REPETIDA/LUZ a continuación).
ALARMA REPETIDA/LUZ (Snooze/Light)
1. Oprima el botón SNOOZE/LIGHT (alarma repetida/luz) al tope de la unidad para
iluminar la pantalla.
2. En el modo de alarma repetida, oprima este botón para activar la alarma repetida
cada 8 minutos.
3. Cuando está seleccionado el modo de alarma normal, oprima el botón para apagar la
alarma por un día.
