SoundSpa brings you clarity of mind through sound to relieve stress and help you
relax, naturally. SoundSpa can help you fall asleep faster and sleep better, or mask
distractions so you can improve your concentration and stay focused. It includes
everything you need to start relaxing, sleeping and concentrating better.
SoundSpa Features
• Six natural sounds
• Automatic timer that allows you to choose how long you listen – select 15, 30 or
60 minutes or continuous play.
• LED illuminated OFF/RESUME button to turn off sound or resume listening, as
desired.
• Volume control to adjust the sound.
• Three display options: hanging, standing up or lying flat. Bracket is included for
standing.
• AC adapter to power SoundSpa. Can also use four AA alkaline batteries for
portable, acoustic relaxation (batteries not included).
How Does Sound Conditioning Work?
Studies have shown that it is the repetitiveness of natural sounds that we respond to
physically and emotionally, helping us to relax.

Adults respond to repetitive natural sounds, such as Spring Rain or Ocean Waves,
helping us to sleep more soundly. The chorus of crickets featured in SoundSpa’s
Summer Night, and the gentle flow of water in Mountain Stream soothe away the
day’s worries so we wake feeling better rested and invigorated.
Natural sounds also work to mask distractions and help focus our thoughts.
SoundSpa’s White Noise, produced from the sound of a giant waterfall, provides
continuous, relaxing sound that clears the mind of outside noises to help
you concentrate.

Important Safety Instructions
As with all electrical appliances, basic safety precautions must be practiced.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock:
• If you have any concerns regarding your health, consult your doctor before
using SoundSpa.
• This appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Unplug from
outlet when not in use.
• Do not place or store the unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
• Do not use while showering or bathing.
• Do not place or drop into water or any other liquid.
• Never reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.
• Do not operate under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause
fire, electrical shock or injury to persons.
• Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return it to the
HoMedics Service Center for examination and repair. (See the warranty section for
HoMedics’ address.)
• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). The plug
will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
• Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not carry this appliance by power cord or use cord as handle.
• To avoid breakage, do not wrap cord around unit.

WARNING – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC
SHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSONS:
• Use SoundSpa only for its intended use as described in this manual.
• Always unplug SoundSpa when not in use.
• The electrical cord of the SoundSpa cannot be replaced. If it sustains damage, you
must stop using the SoundSpa immediately and return it to the HoMedics Service
Center for repair. (See the warranty section for HoMedics’ address.)
• This unit is not a toy. Children should not use it or play with it.
To Use SoundSpa
1. SoundSpa operates on either the AC adapter included or on four AA alkaline
batteries (not included).
TO CONNECT AC ADAPTER: Connect the receptacle end of the adapter cord
to the side of the unit. Insert the polarized plug into an electrical outlet.
TO INSTALL BATTERIES: Insert four AA alkaline batteries into the
compartment on the back of the unit following the diagram inside.
2. Rotate the volume dial to the ON position.
3. Press the OFF/RESUME button. The LED light will illuminate when the unit is on.
4. Adjust the automatic timer to select the desired listening time: 15, 30 or 60 min-
utes. Turn the switch to the TIMER OFF position for continuous play.
5. Choose one of SoundSpa’s six nature sounds by pressing the
corresponding button.
6. Adjust the volume switch, as desired.
7. When finished, either press the OFF/RESUME button located on the front of the unit
or turn the volume switch to the OFF position.
THE OFF/RESUME BUTTON
Press the OFF/RESUME button once to turn off the sound when you’re finished
listening. Press the button again to resume listening to the same sound at the same
volume level. The LED light will illuminate when unit is in use.

Displaying SoundSpa
SoundSpa features three display options. The hanging notch on the back of the unit
allows you to fasten SoundSpa to your wall. A standing bracket is included to display
the unit standing up (Diagram A). You can also lay the unit flat on your dresser, night-
stand or any other flat surface.

ATTACHING AND DETACHING
THE STANDING BRACKET
To display SoundSpa standing up, simply attach the standing bracket to the backside
of the unit, as shown in Diagram A. Insert the bracket into the notches, located on
the back of the unit. Snap the bracket in place by pressing up with your thumbs. To
detach bracket, grasp and press down with your thumbs, towards the bottom of the
unit (Diagram D).

Limited One Year Warranty
HoMedics sells its products with the intent that they are free of defects in manufacture and work-
manship for a period of one year from the date of original purchase, except as noted below.
HoMedics warrants that its products will be free of defects in material and workmanship under
normal use and service. This warranty extends only to consumers and does not extend to
Retailers.
To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, mail the product and your dated sales
receipt (as proof of purchase), postpaid, to the following address:

HoMedics does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, Retailers, the subsequent con-
sumer purchaser of the product from a Retailer or remote purchasers, to obligate HoMedics in any
way beyond the terms set forth herein. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse
or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized accessory; alteration to the product;
improper installation; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power sup-
ply; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating part from failure to
provide manufacturers recommended maintenance; transportation damage; theft; neglect; vandal-
ism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period the product is at a repair facility or
otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever that ar
e beyond the control
of HoMedics.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which the
product is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adoption to enable it to operate in
any other country than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or
authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under this
warranty.
THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. THERE
SHALL BE NO OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY
OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS OR ANY OTHER OBLIGATION ON THE PART OF THE COMPA-
NY WITH RESPECT TO PRODUCTS CO
VERED BY THIS WARRANTY. HOMEDICS SHALL HAVE NO
LIABILITY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT
SHALL THIS WARRANTY REQUIRE MORE THAN THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PART
OR PARTS WHICH ARE FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE WITHIN THE EFFECTIVE PERIOD OF THE
WARRANTY. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. IF REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR DEFECTIVE MATERI

Instrucciones de seguridad importantes
Al igual que con todos los artefactos eléctricos, se deben cumplir ciertas precauciones.
Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico:
• Si tiene alguna preocupación con respecto a su salud, consulte a su médico antes de usar el SoundSpa.
• Este artefacto nunca debe ser dejado sin atención cuando esté enchufado. Desenchúfelo del tomacorriente cuando no

• No lo use mientras se ducha o baña.

• No lo haga funcionar debajo de una manta o almohada. Puede ocurrir un calentamiento excesivo y provocar
un incendio, choque eléctrico o lesiones a las personas.
• Nunca haga funcionar este artefacto si tiene el cable o enchufe dañado, si no está funcionando adecuadamente, si se
cayó o se dañó o si se dejó caer al agua. Envíelo al Centro de servicio de HoMedics para que lo examinen y lo reparen.

• Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una paleta es más ancha que la otra). El enchufe encaja de una sola forma
en un tomacorriente polarizado. Si el enchufe no encaja completamente en el tomacorriente, invierta el enchufe. Si aún
así no encaja, póngase en contacto con un electricista calificado para que instale el tomacorriente adecuado. No

• Mantenga el cable alejado de superficies calientes.

Para usar el SoundSpa
1. SoundSpa funciona tanto con el adaptador de CA que se incluye o con cuatro pilas alcalinas AA (no se incluyen).
PARA CONECTAR EL ADAPTADOR DE CA: conecte el extremo del receptáculo del cable adaptador al costado
de la unidad. Introduzca el enchufe polarizado en el tomacorriente.
PARA INSTALAR LAS PILAS: inserte cuatro pilas alcalinas AA en el compartimiento que se encuentra en el lado
trasero de la unidad, de acuerdo al diagrama que se encuentra dentro del mismo.
2. Gire el dial de volumen hasta la posición de encendido (ON).
3. Presione el botón OFF/RESUME (apagar/reanudar). La luz del LED se encenderá cuando la unidad esté encendida.
4. Ajuste el temporizador automático para seleccionar el tiempo de reproducción deseado: 15, 30 ó 60 minutos.
Ponga el interruptor en la posición TIMER OFF para una reproducción continua.
5. Elija uno de los seis sonidos naturales del SoundSpa presionando el botón correspondiente.
6. Ajuste el dial de volumen, según lo desee.
7. Cuando haya terminado, presione el botón OFF/RESUME (apagar/reanudar) ubicado en la parte delantera de la unidad
o gire el dial de volumen hasta la posición de apagado (OFF).
EL BOTÓN OFF/RESUME
Presione el botón OFF/RESUME (apagar/reanudar) una vez para apagar el sonido cuando haya terminado de escuchar.
Presione el botón nuevamente para volver a escuchar el mismo sonido al mismo volumen. La luz del LED se encenderá
cuando la unidad esté en uso.

COLOCAR Y QUITAR EL SOPORTE DE PIE
Para colocar el SoundSpa verticalmente, tan sólo coloque el soporte de pie en la
parte posterior de la unidad, como se muestra en el Diagrama A. Introduzca el
soporte en las muescas ubicadas en la parte trasera de la unidad. Calce el soporte
presionando con los pulgares. Para quitar el soporte, tome y presione con los
pulgares hacia abajo, hacia la parte inferior de la unidad (Diagrama D).

Presentación del SoundSpa
El SoundSpa cuenta con tres opciones de presentación. La muesca en la parte trasera
de la unidad le permite colocar e SoundSpa en la pared. Se incluye un soporte para
colocar la unidad verticalmente (Diagrama A). También pude colocar la unidad de
manera horizontal en el tocador, mesa de noche o cualquier otra superficie plana.
