Remove the book table / lexan guide ① and the top paper stop assembly ② used with the OD-4300 Coil Inserter Module ③. Attach the OD-4200 Closer with the four black knobs ④ supplied with the closer. If desired for left hand operation, the closer handle can be removed and mounted on the left side of the machine. Always tighten the knobs ④ first on the side of the machine the handle is mounted on in order to secure the pulling side of the machine to the OD-3500. The HD-4270 has three optional ways of mounting. This section covers installation of the HD4270 in the standalone configuration. Your HD-4270 came attached to an interface plate ①. Locate the four smaller #¼-20 pan head screws ② and two feet ② that come with your HD-4270. Store the other items ③ that mount your HD-4270 to an HD7000/7700 (covered next in this manual). Attach the feet to the HD-4270 interface plate with the #¼-20 pan head screws and tighten with the provided Allen wrench as shown ④. (Continua). • HD-4270 – Operación aislada. Ver la ilustración 3.2. The HD-4270 has three optional ways of mounting. This section covers installation of the HD-4270 on the HD-7000 punch. Your HD-4270 came attached to an interface plate ①. Locate the four longer #¼-20 socket head screws ②, two multi-holed interface blocks ②, four knobs ②, the larger Allen wrench ②, and the Torx wrench ②. Store the other items ③ that mount your HD-4270 in the standalone configuration already covered in this manual. Turn power switch off before performing installation. On each side of the HD-7000 locate the two top most Allen screws (or Torx screws) and remove, using the short side of the appropriate wrench for leverage, turning counter clockwise. Do not attempt to open the HD-7000. Orient an Interface Block with the oval hole ④ forward toward the front of the HD punch ⑤, and the round hole ⑥ toward the rear of machine over the two available holes. Make sure the counter bores in the blocks face outward. See counter bore example in ⑦. Note the nine other mounting holes will face up ⑧. Firmly tighten the new longer screws ④⑥. Mettez une des pieces de connexion sur les deux trous disponibles avec le trou ovale ④ vers l’avant du perforateur ⑤ et le trou rond ⑥ vers l’arrière. Both the HC-8000 ① and HC8024 ② come completely preassembled. The HC-8000 handle may be removed and repositioned to the opposite end for user convenience. Book Preparation: Assemble your punched book completely with covers on the top and bottom if required. Place the book with the binding edge facing toward you ① on your closer ② with the top cover of the book facing up ③. Pull from the bottom of the book the plastic rear cover and rear cover sheet ①. Flip the pages over putting the binding edges back together ④, and then roll the back pages of the book over the top of the front of the book ⑤. This action placed the front and back cover sheets together with the inside back cover page facing up ⑤. This will position the wire binding seam on the inside of the back cover of the book when complete. Refer to chapter 5 and choose the correct wire size. Insert the narrow wire loop into the book starting from the left side of the book as shown in figure ⑥, with a slight rotating action. Use your finger or thumb and slide along the wire threading until it’s completely into the book ⑥. Ver la ilustración 4.0. Inserte el lazo estrecho del alambre en el libro, empezando con el lado izquierdo, (como se vee en la ilustración ⑥) con una acción giratoria. Siga insertando, usando el dedo para empujar el alambre completamente en el libro. Voir l’ illustration 4.0. Ce guide d’opération s’ agit du OD-4200, HD-4270, HC8000 et HC-8024. Préparation du livre: Montez votre livre perforé, avec les deux couvertures inclus. Mettez le livre sur votre machine ② avec la marge perforé devant vous, comme on voit en ①. La couverture (“cover sheet”) doit être en haut ③. Tirez le plat verso du fond du livre ④renversez-le, et, avec la marge perforée alignée, remplacez-le en haut du tas. Notez que l’interieur du plat verso (“inside back cover”) doit être en haut ⑤. Ainsi les deux couvertures sont ensembles sur le livre, et la couture du fil sera dans le livre près du plat verso. Le chapitre 5 vous aiderá à choisir le fil métallique correct pour votre livre. Inserez la boucle etroite du fil dans les perforations du livre, en commençant à la gauche comme on voit en ⑥. Employez votre doigt en poussant le fil pendant que vous le tournez un peu jusqu’à ce qu’il soit complètement dans le livre ⑥. Rotate the entire wire forward into the book so that the seam of the wire is on top ①. Firmly grab the entire book ② and flip it forward and upside down ③ so the wire faces the closer bar of the machine ④. Setting the closer bar height: The closing bar is adjustable on each end allowing the operator to achieve a perfect close at each end of the book. Pull the handle on the closer all the way down and adjust both knobs ⑤ so the top edge of the closing bar ⑥ lines up on the decal ⑦ with the wire size you are closing. (Continua). With the handle in the full upright position, place the book so the open mouth of the wire is firmly pressed against the back plate ① inside the closing machine. The narrow, open loop of the wire ② should be on top of the book while pushing against the back plate ①, with the wire seam on the bottom. (Continua). Cerrando el libro: Ver la ilustracíon 4.2. Inspect the book and re-adjust the closing bar if necessary. When the wire is closed properly, the narrow, open loops overlap the wide , closed loops by about 1/16 inch along the entire length of the book. An indication that the book is not closed correctly is when pages fall out of the book. Flip the back cover page and cover sheet back to the back of the book. Your book is complete.
