When using an electric blower, basic

precautions should always be followed,

including the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE

USING THE STIHL BGA BLOWER,

THE BATTERY AND THE CHARGER

WARNING!

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock,

or other injury:

1. Do not leave the blower unattended

when the plug of the connecting

cord is inserted. Disconnect the

connecting cord from the blower

when blower is not in use and

before servicing.

2. Avoid Unintentional Starting –

Do not carry blower with finger on

the trigger switch if the plug of the

connecting cord is inserted. Be sure

trigger switch is not depressed

when inserting the plug of the

connecting cord.

3. Do not expose the blower, battery

and charger including plug to rain,

use on wet surfaces or handle with

wet hands. Store indoors in dry

rooms. Also see additional

instructions which comes with the

charger and battery AP or AR.

4. Use only genuine STIHL chargers.

Use charger only indoors in dry

rooms.

5. Do not allow blower to be used as a

toy. Keep Children Away – All

bystanders should be kept at a

distance from the work area.

6. Use only as described in this

manual. Use only manufacturer's

recommended attachments.

7. Do not use with damaged battery. If

the blower is not working as it

should, has been dropped,

damaged, left outdoors, or dropped

into water, take it to your STIHL

servicing dealer to have it checked

before further operation.

8. Do not put any object into openings.

Do not use with any opening

blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair,

and anything that may reduce air

flow.

9. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers

and all parts of body away from

openings and moving parts.

10. Turn off all controls before removing

the connecting cord.

11. Use extra care when cleaning on

stairs.

12. Do not use in areas where

flammable or combustible liquids,

such as gasoline, may be present.

13. Do not expose battery to fire or

incinerate even if it is severely

damaged. Battery can explode.

14. Store Idle Blower Indoors –

When not in use, blower should be

stored indoors in a dry, and high,

locked place with connecting cord

removed and retaining latch on ƒ –

out of reach of children.

15. Replacement Parts –

When servicing, use only identical

STIHL replacement parts.

Safety Precautions and

Working Techniques

Because the use of any

blower may be hazard

ous, special safety

precautions must be

observed to reduce the

risk of personal injury.

It is important that you

read, fully understand

and observe the following

safety precautions and

warnings. Read the

instruction manual and

the safety precautions

periodically. Careless or

improper use may cause

serious or fatal injury.

stadiums, parks, paths, streets,

driveways and parking lots and for

similar tasks.

WARNING

Do not use it for other purposes, since

misuse may result in personal injury or

property damage, including damage to

the machine.

WARNING

Minors should never be allowed to use a

blower. Bystanders, especially children,

and animals should not be allowed in the

area where a machine is in use.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury to bystanders

and damage to property, never let your

power tool run unattended. When it is

not in use (e.g. during a work break),

shut it off and make sure that

unauthorized persons do not use it. To

do this, move retaining latch to ƒ and

remove the connecting cord from the

power tool.

Most of these safety precautions and

warnings apply to the use of all STIHL

blowers. Different models may have

different parts and controls. See the

appropriate section of your instruction

manual for a description of the controls

and the function of the parts of your

model.

Always remove the connecting cord and

move retaining latch to ƒ before

transporting, storing or carrying out any

work on the power tool. This avoids the

risk of the motor starting unintentionally.

Safe use of a blower involves

THE OPERATOR

Physical Condition

You must be in good physical condition

and mental health and not under the

influence of any substance (drugs,

alcohol, etc.) which might impair vision,

dexterity or judgment. Do not operate

this machine when you are fatigued.

WARNING

Be alert – if you get tired, take a break.

Tiredness may result in loss of control.

Working with any power tool can be

strenuous. If you have any condition that

might be aggravated by strenuous work,

check with your doctor before operating

this machine.

Proper Clothing

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury, the operator

should wear proper protective apparel.

WARNING

STIHL recommends the use of sound

barriers (ear plugs or ear mufflers) to

protect your hearing.

THE POWER TOOL

WARNING

Never modify this power tool in any way.

Only attachments supplied by STIHL or

expressly approved by STIHL for use

Good footing is very

important. Do not wear

sandals, flip-flops or go

barefoot.

with the specific STIHL model are

authorized. Although certain

unauthorized attachments are useable

with STIHL power tools, their use may,

in fact, be extremely dangerous.

If this tool is subjected to unusually high

loads for which it was not designed (e.g.

heavy impact or a fall), always check

that it is in good condition before

continuing work. Check in particular that

the controls and safety devices are

working properly. Do not continue

operating this machine if it is damaged.

In case of doubt, have it checked by your

STIHL servicing dealer.

To reduce the risk of injury, do not

operate your blower unless it has a

properly mounted blower tube.

Connecting Cord

Always remove the connecting cord by

pulling the plug.

Do not remove the connecting cord

while the motor is running.

Do not use the connecting cord to pull,

hang up or transport the power tool.

Do not operate the power tool with a

damaged connecting cord or plug.

Straighten a twisted connecting cord

before use.

Avoid chafing, pinching or tugging the

connecting cord – risk of damage.

Protect from heat, oil, pointed objects

and sharp edges.

Read, fully understand and observe the

instructions which comes with the STIHL

Connecting Cord and keep it in a safe

place.

Battery

WARNING

Do not place the battery on or near fires,

stoves or in other high-temperature

locations. Do not place the battery in

direct sunlight or store it inside a vehicle

in hot weather. Doing so may cause the

battery to generate heat, rupture or

ignite. Using the batteries in this manner

may also result in a loss of performance

and a shortened battery life.

In case of fire: stay clear of any vapors

or gases generated, taking wind

direction into account. If possible without

danger, remove battery from the vicinity

of the fire. In principle, cooling the

battery or extinguishing the fire with

water is possible. It is preferable to

extinguish the fire with a multipurpose

dry chemical fire extinguisher. As for any

fire, evacuate the area and fight the fire

from a safe distance. Once the fire has

been extinguished, the area should be

monitored (fire watch) in case of a flare-

up, until the battery has cooled

sufficiently. Restrict access to the area

until completion of clean-up. Do not

touch the burnt battery or any spilled

liquids. Use inert absorbent to absorb

spilled liquids.

WARNING

Use only STIHL AP or AR batteries with

STIHL power tools, and charge them

only with STIHL chargers. Replace

battery with STIHL battery only. Use

only genuine STIHL rechargeable

batteries.

Charge the battery before use.

WARNING

Do not open, drop, hit or damage

battery. Never insert objects into the

battery's cooling slots, since they may

damage the battery. The battery

contains safety features and devices

which, if damaged, may cause the

battery to generate heat, rupture or

ignite. Never use or charge a defective,

damaged, cracked or deformed battery.

Immediately discontinue use of the

battery if, while using, charging or

storing, it emits an unusual smell, feels

hot or appears abnormal in any other

way.

Risk of fire, explosion

and/or burns, including

chemical burns. Do not

disassemble, crush, heat

above 212 °F (100 °C),

expose to fire or inciner

ate. Never expose the

battery to microwaves or

high pressures.

Use and store the bat

tery only within a

temperature range from

10 °C (14 °F) up to no

more than +50 °C

(122 °F). Protect the bat

tery from direct sunlight.

Do not immerse the bat

tery in fluids. Also see

additional instructions

which comes with the

battery AP or AR.

WARNING

Fluid may leak from the battery if it is

damaged or is not used properly – avoid

contact with the skin! Leaking battery

fluid can cause skin irritation and

chemical burns. In the event of

accidental contact, immediately rinse

thoroughly with mild soap and water. If

fluid gets into your eye(s), do not rub

your eye(s) but rinse water over the

open eye(s) for 15 minutes at least. Also

seek medical attention immediately.

WARNING

Never bridge (short circuit) the battery

terminals with metallic objects, since this

may damage the battery and possibly

cause a fire. Keep a battery that is not in

use away from metal objects (e.g. nails,

coins, jewelry). Do not use metal

containers for transporting batteries.

Store the battery out of reach of children

in a cool and dry area away from direct

sunlight and excess heat or cold (-10 °C

to +50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F)).

and keep it in a safe place.

Charger

Use only genuine STIHL chargers.

Use only for charging geometrically

matching STIHL batteries with a

maximum rated capacity of 50 Ah and a

maximum voltage of 42 V.

Never charge defective, leaking or

deformed batteries.

Connect the charger only to a power

supply with the voltage and frequency

specified on the rating plate. Always

plug the charger into a properly installed

wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord

unless absolutely neccessary (see

below).

Never use a charger with damaged

housing, damaged power supply cord or

damaged plug. Do not operate the

charger if it has received a sharp blow,

been dropped or otherwise damaged in

any way.

Do not open or dissassemble charger –

there are no user serviceable parts

inside.

Store charger out of the reach of

children.

Operate charger at temperatures

between 5 °C (41 °F) and 40 °C

(104 °F).

Allow the charger to cool down normally

– do not cover it.

Never bridge the contacts of the charger

with metallic objects (e.g. nails, coins,

jewelry) – short circuit. The charger will

be damaged by a short circuit.

In the event of smoke or fire in the

charger, disconnect it from outlet

immediately.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of electric shock or

short circuit, do not insert any objects

into the charger's cooling slots.

WARNING

The charger heats up during the

charging process. Do not operate on an

easily combustible surface (e.g. paper,

cardboard, textiles) or in an easily

combustible environment – risk of fire.

WARNING

Do not operate in a hazardous location,

i.e. in a location where there are

combustible liquids (fumes), vapors or

dusts. Chargers can produce sparks,

which may ignite the dust or vapors –

risk of explosion.

Never jerk the power supply cord to

disconnect it from the wall outlet. To

unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Replace a damaged power supply cord

or have it repaired by an experienced

electrician.

Protect the charger from

rain and dampness. Keep

charger dry.

Use and store charger

only indoors in dry rooms.

Check the charger's

power supply cord and

plug regularly for dam

age. If the power supply

cord or plug is damaged,

immediately disconnect

the plug from the wall

outlet to avoid the risk of

electric shock.

Do not use the power supply cord for

any other purpose, e.g. for carrying or

hanging up the charger.

Never use power supply cords that do

not comply with regulations.

Make sure the power supply cord is

located and/or marked so that it will not

be stepped on, tripped over, come in

contact with sharp edges or moving

parts or otherwise be subjected to

damage or stress.

An extension cord should not be used

unless absolutely necessary. If an

extension cord must be used, plug the

charger into a properly wired 16 gauge

(AWG 16) or heavier gauge extension

cord with blades that are the same

number, size and shapes as the blades

on the charger.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of electric shock:

– Always connect the unit to a

properly installed wall outlet.

– Make sure the insulation of the

power supply cord and plug is in

good condition.

Unplug the power supply cord from the

outlet when charger is not in use.

Never store a battery in the charger.

Read, fully understand and observe the

instruction manual for the STIHL charger

and keep it in a safe place.

THE USE OF THE POWER TOOL

Transporting the Unit

WARNING

Always switch off the power tool, move

retaining latch to ƒ and remove the

connecting cord – even when you

transport the unit for short distances.

Carry the machine by the control handle.

When transporting it in a vehicle,

properly secure the power tool to

prevent turnover and damage.

Before Starting Work

WARNING

Always check your power tool for proper

condition and operation before starting,

particularly the trigger switch and

retaining latch. The trigger switch must

move freely and always spring back

when the retaining latch is on ‚. When

the retaining latch is on ƒ, it should not

be possible to depress the trigger

switch. Never attempt to modify the

controls or safety devices.

WARNING

Never operate your power tool if it is

damaged, improperly adjusted or

maintained, or not completely or

securely assembled.

WARNING

A worn impeller housing (cracks, nicks,

chips) may result in an increased risk of

injury from thrown foreign objects. If the

impeller housing is damaged, consult

your dealer. STIHL recommends you

contact a STIHL servicing dealer.

Keep the handle clean and dry at all

times; it is particularly important to keep

it free of moisture, pitch, oil, grease or

resin in order for you to maintain a firm

grip and properly control your power

tool.

Check contacts in the socket for foreign

matter. Keep clean.

Fit the plug of the connecting cord

correctly.

For starting, see chapter on "Switching

On".

WARNING

Your power tool is a one-person

machine. Do not allow other persons in

the general work area, even when

starting.

During Operation

Holding and Controlling the Power Tool

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury from loss of

control, never work on a ladder, in a tree

or any other insecure support. Never

hold the machine above shoulder

height.

Remove the connecting

cord from the power tool.

This avoids the risk of the

motor starting

unintentionally.

The blower is designed for single-

handed operation with either the right or

left hand on the control handle.

When working with the blower, always

wrap your fingers tightly around the

handle, keeping the control handle

cradled between your thumb and

forefinger. Keep your hand in this

position to have your machine under

control at all times.

To reduce the risk of stumbling and loss

of control, do not walk backward while

operating the machine.

Special care must be taken in slippery

conditions (wet ground, snow) and in

difficult, overgrown terrain. Watch for

hidden obstacles such as tree stumps,

roots and ditches to avoid stumbling. For

better footing, clear away fallen

branches, scrub and cuttings. Be

extremely cautious when working on

slopes or uneven ground.

Working Conditions

WARNING

Operate your machine outdoors under

good visibility and daylight conditions

only. Work carefully.

The power tool may be used in rain and

wetness. Dry the power tool after

finishing work.

Do not leave the machine outdoors in

the rain.

WARNING

Static electricity may build-up while

blow-sweeping large quantities of very

dusty material and suddenly discharge

with a spark in certain unfavorable

conditions (e.g. very dry work area).

WARNING

Inhalation of certain dusts, especially

organic dusts such as mold or pollen,

can cause susceptible persons to have

an allergic or asthmatic reaction.

Substantial or repeated inhalation of

dust and other airborne contaminants, in

particular those with a smaller particle

size, may cause respiratory or other

illnesses. Control dust at the source

where possible. Use good work

practices, such as operating the unit so

that the wind or operating process

directs any dust raised by the power tool

away from the operator. Follow the

recommendations of EPA / OSHA /

NIOSH and occupational and trade

associations with respect to dust

("particulate matter"). When the

inhalation of dust cannot be

substantially controlled, i.e., kept at or

near the ambient (background) level, the

operator and any bystanders should

wear a respirator approved by NIOSH /

MSHA for the type of dust encountered.

WARNING

If the substance being blown is a

commercial substance, review,

understand and follow all warnings and

instructions contained on the label and

in the material safety data sheet for that

substance and/or consult the material

manufacturer/supplier. The state of

California and some other authorities,

for instance, have published lists of

substances known to cause cancer,

reproductive toxicity, etc.

WARNING

Breathing asbestos dust is dangerous

and can cause severe or fatal illness,

respiratory illness or cancer. The use

and disposal of asbestos-containing

products have been strictly regulated by

OSHA and the Environmental Protection

Agency. If you have any reason to

believe that you might be blowing or

otherwise disturbing asbestos,

immediately stop work and contact EPA,

your employer or a local OSHA

representative.

WARNING

Dust with silica in its composition may

contain crystalline silica. Silica is a basic

component of sand, quartz, brick, clay,

granite and numerous other minerals

and rocks, including masonry and

concrete products. Repeated and/or

substantial inhalation of airborne

crystalline silica can cause serious or

fatal respiratory disease, including

silicosis. In addition, the state of

California and some other authorities

have listed respirable crystalline silica as

a substance known to cause cancer.

When encountering such materials,

always follow the respiratory

precautions mentioned above.

Pay attention to the direction of the wind,

i.e., do not work against the wind.

Operating Instructions

WARNING

In the event of an emergency, switch off

the motor immediately, move retaining

latch to ƒ and remove the connecting

cord.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of damage to

property, also maintain this distance

from such objects as vehicles or

windows.

Be particularly alert and cautious when

wearing hearing protection because

your ability to hear warnings (shouts,

alarms, etc.) is restricted.

Switch off the motor immediately if you

are approached.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of personal injury, do

not direct air blast towards bystanders,

since the high pressure of the air flow

can injure eyes and can blow small

objects at great speed. Do not direct

airblast towards pets.

When working in open ground and

gardens, watch out for small animals to

avoid harming them.

WARNING

The blower fan between the air intake

and output openings rotates whenever

the motor is running. In order to reduce

the risk of injury from contact with the

blower fan, never operate your blower

without a properly mounted blower tube

or with a damaged intake screen.

WARNING

Never insert any foreign object into the

air intake of the machine or into the

nozzle of the blower. It will damage the

blower fan and may cause serious injury

to the operator or bystanders as a result

of the object or broken parts being

thrown out at high speed.

Do not place the blower on the ground

when operating at high speed, because

small objects such as sand, grass, dust,

etc. may be pulled into the air intake and

damage the fan wheel. It is best to turn

the machine off when putting it on the

ground.

After Finishing Work

Always clean dust and dirt off the power

tool – do not use any grease solvents for

this purpose.

MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND

STORING

If you make a warranty claim for a

component which has not been serviced

or maintained properly, STIHL may deny

coverage.

WARNING

Use only identical STIHL replacement

parts for maintenance and repair. Use of

non-STIHL parts may cause serious or

fatal injury.

Strictly follow the maintenance and

repair instructions in the appropriate

section of your instruction manual.

Please also refer to the maintenance

chart in the manual.

WARNING

Do not attempt any maintenance or

repair work not described in your

instruction manual. Have such work

performed by your STIHL servicing

dealer only.

Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws after

each use.

Regularly check the electrical contacts

and ensure that the insulation of the

power cord and plug of the charger and

the connecting cord from the blower is in

good condition and show no sign of

aging (brittleness).

In order to reduce

the risk of personal

or even fatal injury

to bystanders from

blown objects

keep bystanders at

least 5 m (16 feet)

away when the

power tool is

running.

Always switch off the

motor, move retaining

latch to ƒ and remove

the connecting cord from

the power tool before car

rying out any repairs or

maintenance work or

cleaning the power tool.

This avoids the risk of the

motor starting

unintentionally.

Electrical components, e.g. power cord

of charger and connecting cord, may

only be repaired or replaced by a

qualified electrician.

Clean plastic components with a cloth.

Do not use aggressive detergents. They

may damage the plastic.

Do not spray the machine with water or

other liquid.

Do not clean your machine with a

pressure washer. The solid jet of water

may damage parts of the machine.

Keep the connecting cord socket free

from foreign matter – clean as

necessary.

Store the power tool in a dry, locked

location with the retaining latch on ƒ,

the connecting cord removed and out of

reach of children.

Your blower is designed for one-handed

operation. It can be carried by the

control handle in either the right or left

hand.

N Always hold the blower firmly in your

hand.

Carrying ring

With the STIHL AR battery, you can

attach the blower's carrying ring to a hip

pad on the harness.

Use Type AR batteries only with the

harness provided – do not combine with

other carrying straps (e.g. shoulder

strap, full harness, etc.).

N Fit the hip pad (1) on the

harness (3) with the aid of the AR

kit (2) – see leaflet supplied with

AR kit.

N Use carrying ring to attach blower to

hip pad.

Nozzle

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury, operate the

unit only with a properly mounted

nozzle.

Mounting the Nozzle

N Push the nozzle (1) onto the blower

tube (2) as far as mark that suits

your height.

N Rotate the nozzle (1) in the direction

of the arrow and engage it in the

slot (3).

Adjusting the Nozzle

N Rotate the nozzle (1) clockwise as

far as the stop.

N Slide the nozzle (1) to the

appropriate mark on the blower

tube (2) that suits your height.

N Rotate the nozzle (1) in the direction

of the arrow and engage it in the

slot (3).

Removing the Nozzle

N Rotate the nozzle (1) clockwise as

far as the stop.

N Pull the nozzle (1) off the blower

tube (2).

Power supply (mains) voltage and

operating voltage must be the same.

N Insert the plug (1) in the wall

outlet (2).

A self test is performed after the charger

is connected to the power supply. During

this process, the light emitting diode (1)

on the charger lights up green for about

1 second, then red and goes off again.

A factory-new battery is not fully

charged.

Recommendation: Fully charge the

battery before using it for the first time.

Operate the charger only in enclosed

and dry rooms at ambient temperatures

Charging STIHL AP Battery

N Push the battery (1) into the

charger (2) until noticeable

resistance is felt – then push it as far

as stop.

The LED (3) on the charger comes on

when the battery is inserted – see "LED

on Charger"

Charging begins as soon as the

LEDs (4) on the battery glow green –

see "LEDs on Battery".

The charge time is dependent on a

number of factors, including battery

condition, ambient temperature, etc.,

and may therefore vary from the times

specified.

The battery heats up during operation in

the power tool. If a hot battery is inserted

in the charger, it may be necessary to

cool it down before charging. The

charging process begins only after the

battery has cooled down. The time

required for cooling may prolong the

charge time.

The battery and charger heat up during

the charging process.

AL 300, AL 500 Chargers

The AL 300 and AL 500 chargers are

equipped with a battery cooling fan.

AL 100 Charger

The AL 100 charger has no fan and

waits for the battery to cool down before

starting the charging process. The

battery is cooled by heat transfer to the

ambient air.

End of Charge

The charger switches itself off

automatically when the battery is fully

charged:

– LEDs on the battery go off.

– The LED on the charger goes off.

– The charger's fan is switched off (if

charger is so equipped)

Selecting power level

Blowing power can be adjusted with the

available.

Activating the boost function

The boost function can be activated

independent of the preset power level.

The boost function always provides

maximum blowing power.

N Override the trigger switch's end

position and hold it there.

The boost function remains active until

the trigger switch is released.

The previously selected power level is

restored when the trigger switch is

released.

Commercial air, vessel and ground

transportation of lithium ion cells and

batteries is regulated. The battery is

classified as a UN 3480, Class 9,

packaging group 2 product. Shipping it,

either as a complete tool or the battery,

requires compliance with all applicable

shipping regulations. Check with the

ground, vessel, air cargo or passenger

In California, new equipment that uses

motors must be designed, built, and

equipped to meet the State’s stringent

emissions control system on your small

off-road zero emission equipment

motors for the periods of time listed

below provided there has been no

abuse, neglect or improper maintenance

of your small off-road motor or

equipment leading to the failure of the

Where a warrantable condition exists,

warranted for two years. If any emission-

OWNER’S WARRANTY

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the small off-road zero emission

equipment motor owner, you are

responsible for the performance of the

required maintenance listed in your

instruction manual. STIHL Incorporated

recommends that you retain all receipts

covering maintenance on your small off-

road zero emission equipment motor,

but STIHL Incorporated cannot deny

warranty coverage solely for the lack of

receipts or for your failure to ensure the

DEFECTS WARRANTY PERIOD

The warranty periods will begin on the

date the utility zero emission equipment

motor is purchased by the initial

purchaser. If any emission-related part

on your zero emission equipment motor

is defective, the part will be replaced by

STIHL Incorporated at no cost to the

owner.

Add-on or modified parts that are not

exempted by CARB may not be used.

The use of any non-exempted add-on or

modified parts will be grounds for

disallowing a warranty claim. STIHL

Incorporated will not be liable to warrant

failures of warranted parts caused by the

use of a non-exempted add-on or

modified part.

The warranty on emissions-related parts

will be interpreted as follows:

1 Any warranted part that is not

scheduled for replacement as

required maintenance in the written

instructions required in the

Emission Warranty Parts List (see

below) must be warranted for the

warranty period defined in

Subsection COVERAGE BY STIHL

INCORPORATED, see above. If

any such part fails during the period

of warranty coverage, it must be

repaired or replaced by the

manufacturer according to

Subsection (4) below. Any such part

repaired or replaced under the

warranty must be warranted for the

remaining warranty period.

2 Any warranted part that is

scheduled only for regular

inspection in the written instructions

required by the Emission Warranty

parts List (see below) must be

warranted for the warranty period

defined in Subsection COVERAGE

BY STIHL INCORPORATED, see

above. A statement in such written

instructions to the effect of “repair or

replace as necessary” will not

reduce the period of warranty

coverage. Any such part repaired or

replaced under warranty must be

warranted for the remaining period.

3 Any warranted part that is

scheduled for replacement as

required maintenance in the written

instructions required by the

Emission Warranty Parts List (see

below) must be warranted for the

period of time prior to the first

scheduled replacement point for

that part. If the part fails prior to the

first scheduled replacement, the

part must be repaired or replaced by

the zero emission equipment motor

manufacturer according to

Subsection (4) below. Any such part

repaired or replaced under warranty

must be warranted for the

remainder of the period prior to the

first scheduled replacement point

for the part.

4 Repair or replacement of any

warranted part under the warranty

must be performed at a warranty

station at no charge to the owner.

5 Notwithstanding the provisions of

Subsection (4) above, warranty

services or repairs will be provided

at all manufacturer distribution

centers that are authorized to

service the subject zero emission

equipment motor.

6 The owner must not be charged for

diagnostic labor that leads to the

determination that a warranted part

is in fact defective, provided that

such diagnostic work is performed

at a warranty station.

WARRANTY WORK

STIHL Incorporated shall remedy

warranty defects at any authorized

STIHL dealer or warranty station. Any

such work shall be free of charge to the

owner if it is determined that a warranted

part is defective. Any manufacturer

approved or equivalent replacement

part may be used for any warranty

maintenance or repairs on emission-

related parts and must be provided

without charge to the owner. STIHL

Incorporated is liable for damages to

other zero emission equipment motor

components caused by the failure of a

warranted part still under warranty.

está conectado. Desenchufe el

cable de conexión del soplador

cuando no utilice el soplador y antes

de darle mantenimiento.

2. Evite los arranques inesperados –

No transporte el soplador con el

dedo en el gatillo si el enchufe del

cable de conexión está conectado.

Compruebe que el gatillo no esté

oprimido cuando se conecta el

enchufe del cable de conexión.

3. No exponga el soplador, la batería y

el cargador, incluyendo su enchufe,

a la lluvia, no los utilice sobre

superficies húmedas ni los

manipule con las manos mojadas.

Almacénese bajo techo en un

recinto seco. También lea las

demás instrucciones que vienen

con el cargador y la batería AP o

AR.

4. Utilice sólo cargadores STIHL

genuinos. Utilice el cargador

únicamente bajo techo y en un

recinto seco.

5. No permita el uso del soplador

como juguete. Mantenga alejados a

los niños. Todas las personas que

se encuentren en la cercanía deben

mantenerse alejadas de la zona de

trabajo.

6. Utilice el aparato solamente de la

manera descrita en este manual.

Utilice exclusivamente los

accesorios recomendados por el

fabricante.

7. No use el aparato si su batería está

averiada. Si el soplador no funciona

debidamente, si ha sufrido una

caída, está dañado, fue dejado a la

intemperie o ha caído en agua,

llévelo al concesionario STIHL para

que lo revise antes de volverlo a

usar.

8. No coloque ningún objeto en las

aberturas. No utilice con una

abertura taponada; mantenga el

aparato libre de polvo, pelusa, pelo

u otros materiales que pueden

reducir la corriente de aire.

9. Mantenga el pelo, la ropa suelta, los

dedos y los demás partes del

cuerpo lejos de las aberturas y las

piezas en movimiento.

10. Apague todos los controles antes

de desconectar el cable de

conexión.

11. Tenga mucho cuidado al limpiar en

escaleras.

12. No use el aparato en zonas que

contengan líquidos inflamables o

combustibles, tales como la

gasolina.

13. No exponga la batería al fuego ni la

incinere, aun si tuviera daños

severos. La batería puede explotar.

14. Guarde el soplador en desuso bajo

techo.

Cuando no lo utilice, guarde el

soplador bajo techo, en un lugar

seco, elevado y bajo llave, sin el

cable de conexión, con el pestillo de

retención en la posición ƒ y fuera

del alcance de los niños.

15. Repuestos –

Al darle mantenimiento a la

máquina, utilice únicamente

repuestos STIHL genuinos.

GUARDE ESTAS

INSTRUCCIONES

Familiarícese completamente con los

controles y con el modo de empleo

adecuado del equipo. Sepa cómo

apagar la máquina y desengranar los

controles con rapidez.

Pida a su concesionario STIHL que le

ADVERTENCIA

No preste ni alquile nunca su

herramienta motorizada sin entregar el

manual de instrucciones. Asegúrese de

Siempre retire el cable de conexión y

EL OPERADOR

Condición física

Usted debe estar en buenas

condiciones físicas y psíquicas y no

encontrarse bajo la influencia de

ninguna sustancia (drogas, alcohol,

etc.) que le pueda restar visibilidad,

destreza o juicio. No maneje esta

máquina cuando está fatigado.

ADVERTENCIA

Esté alerta. Si se cansa, tómese un

descanso. El cansancio puede provocar

una pérdida del control. El uso de

cualquier herramienta motorizada es

fatigoso. Si usted padece de alguna

dolencia que pueda ser agravada por la

fatiga, consulte a su médico antes de

utilizar esta máquina.

Vestimenta adecuada

ADVERTENCIA

Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones el

operador debe usar el equipo protector

adecuado.

ADVERTENCIA

STIHL recomienda el uso de protectores

en los oídos (tapones o amortiguadores

sonoros) para protegerlos.

Para reducir el riesgo de

lesionarse los ojos,

nunca maneje la herra

mienta motorizada si no

tiene puestas gafas o

anteojos de seguridad

bien ajustados con una

protección adecuada en

las partes superior y late

ral que satisfagan la

norma ANSI Z87 "+" (o la

norma nacional

correspondiente).

Evite el uso de chaquetas

sueltas, bufandas, corba

tas, joyas, pantalones

anchos o con vuelta,

cabello largo sin recoger

o cualquier cosa que

pudiera ser aspirada por

el conducto de admisión.

Sujétese el pelo de modo

que quede sobre los

hombros.

LA HERRAMIENTA MOTORIZADA

Para las ilustraciones y definiciones de

los componentes de la herramienta

motorizada, vea el capítulo sobre

“Piezas principales”.

ADVERTENCIA

Nunca modifique, de ninguna manera,

esta herramienta motorizada. Utilice

únicamente los accesorios y repuestos

suministrados por STIHL o

expresamente autorizados por STIHL

para usarse con el modelo específico de

STIHL. Si bien es posible conectar a la

herramienta motorizada de STIHL

ciertos accesorios no autorizados, su

uso puede ser, en la práctica,

extremadamente peligroso.

Si la máquina experimenta cargas

excesivas para las cuales no fue

diseñada (por ejemplo, impactos

severos o una caída), siempre

asegúrese que esté en buenas

condiciones antes de seguir con el

trabajo. Compruebe específicamente

que los controles y dispositivos de

seguridad funcionen correctamente. No

siga manejando esta máquina si está

dañada. En caso de dudas, pida que el

concesionario de servicio de STIHL la

revise.

Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones, no

haga funcionar el soplador sin que tenga

instalado correctamente el tubo de

soplado.

Cordón de conexión

Siempre retire el cable de conexión

desconectando el enchufe.

No retire el cable de conexión mientras

el motor está funcionando.

No utilice el cable de conexión para

arrastrar, colgar o transportar la

herramienta motorizada.

No haga funcionar la herramienta

motorizada si el cable de conexión o el

enchufe están dañados.

Antes de usarlo, estire el cordón de

conexión si está retorcido.

Evite rozar, pellizcar o arrastrar el cable

de conexión porque podría dañarlo.

Protéjalo del calor, el aceite, los objetos

puntiagudos y los bordes filosos.

Lea, comprenda bien y respete las

instrucciones provistas con el cable de

conexión STIHL y consérvelo en un

lugar seguro.

Batería

ADVERTENCIA

No la coloque sobre o cerca del fuego,

estufas u otros sitios con altas

temperaturas. No la exponga a la luz

solar directa ni la guarde dentro de un

vehículo en climas calurosos. Esto

puede hacer que la batería genere calor,

se rompa o se incendie. El uso de las

baterías de esta manera también puede

perjudicar su rendimiento y su vida útil.

En caso de incendio: manténgase

alejado de los vapores y los gases,

teniendo en cuenta la dirección del

viento. Si es posible hacerlo sin

exponerse a ningún riesgo, retire la

batería de las inmediaciones del

incendio. En principio, es posible enfriar

la batería o extinguir un incendio con

agua. Es preferible extinguir los

incendios con un extinguidor universal

con agente químico seco. Para

cualquier tipo de incendio, evacue el

área y extinga el fuego desde una

distancia segura. Una vez apagado,

controle la zona (vigilancia contra

incendios) hasta que la batería se haya

enfriado lo suficiente para actuar en

caso de que el fuego vuelva a

encenderse. Restrinja el acceso al área

hasta terminar de limpiar. No toque la

batería quemada ni ningún líquido

derramado. Use un absorbente inerte

para absorber los líquidos derramados.

ADVERTENCIA

Utilice baterías STIHL AP o AR sólo con

herramientas motorizadas STIHL y

cárguelas únicamente con cargadores

Es muy importante tener

una buena superficie de

apoyo para los pies.

Nunca use sandalias,

ojotas ni ande descalzo.

Riesgo de incendio,

explosión y/o quemadu

ras, inclusive aquellas

provocadas por agentes

químicos. No la desarme,

aplaste, caliente a más

de 100 °C (212 °F),

exponga a incendios ni la

incinere. Nunca la

exponga a microondas o

altas presiones.

Utilice y almacene la

batería únicamente en un

intervalo de temperaturas

10 °C (14 °F) a no

más de + 50 °C (122 °F).

Proteja la batería de la

luz solar directa.

STIHL. Sustituya la batería únicamente

con la batería STIHL. Use sólo baterías

recargables STIHL genuinas.

Cargue la batería antes de utilizarla.

ADVERTENCIA

No abra, arroje, golpee ni dañe la

batería. Nunca inserte objetos en las

ranuras de enfriamiento de la batería

porque podría dañarla. La batería posee

características y dispositivos de

seguridad que, de dañarse, pueden

provocar que ésta genere calor, se

reviente o se incendie. Nunca utilice ni

cargue una batería defectuosa, dañada,

agrietada o deformada.

Suspenda su uso si mientras la usa, la

carga o la guarda, emana un olor poco

habitual, está caliente al tacto o tiene un

aspecto anormal.

ADVERTENCIA

Puede haber fuga de líquido si la batería

está dañada o se utiliza

incorrectamente. ¡Evite el contacto con

la piel! El líquido que se fuga de la

batería puede irritar la piel y causar

quemaduras químicas. En caso de

contacto inadvertido, lávese

inmediatamente con agua y un jabón

suave. Si el líquido penetra en los ojos,

no los restriegue, sino láveselos con

agua durante al menos 15 minutos

manteniéndolos abiertos. También

busque atención médica de inmediato.

ADVERTENCIA

Nunca cree un puente (cortocircuito)

entre los bornes de la batería con

objetos metálicos porque se puede

dañar la batería y posiblemente generar

un incendio. Mantenga las baterías en

desuso alejadas de objetos metálicos

(por ejemplo, clavos, monedas, joyas).

No emplee recipientes metálicos para

transportar baterías.

Guarde la batería fuera del alcance de

los niños, en un lugar fresco y seco,

alejado de la luz solar directa y de

temperaturas extremadamente

calientes o frías (-10 °C a +50 °C [14 °F

a 122 °F]).

Lea, comprenda bien y respete el

manual de instrucciones de la batería

STIHL y consérvelo en un lugar seguro.

Cargador

Utilice sólo cargadores STIHL genuinos.

Utilícelo únicamente para cargar

baterías con forma geométrica

correspondiente STIHL, con una

capacidad máxima de 50 Ah y un voltaje

máximo de 42 V.

Nunca cargue baterías defectuosas,

deformadas o que pierdan líquido.

Conecte el cargador únicamente a un

suministro de energía eléctrica que

brinde el voltaje y la frecuencia

indicados en la chapa de

especificaciones. Siempre conecte el

cargador a un tomacorriente de pared

instalado correctamente. No utilice un

cordón de extensión a menos que sea

absolutamente necesario (vea más

adelante).

Nunca use un cargador que tenga la

caja, el cordón eléctrico o el enchufe

dañado. No opere el cargador si éste

hubiera recibido un fuerte golpe, o se

hubiera caído o dañado de cualquier

otro modo.

No abra ni desarme el cargador – no

contiene en su interior piezas que el

usuario pueda reparar.

Guarde el cargador fuera del alcance de

los niños.

Utilice el cargador a temperaturas de

entre 5°C (41°F) y 40°C(104°F).

Deje que se enfríe por sí solo – no lo

cubra.

Nunca cree un puente entre los

contactos del cargador con objetos

metálicos (por ejemplo, clavos,

monedas, joyas) – cortocircuito. El

cargador podría dañarse debido a un

cortocircuito.

En caso de producirse humo o fuego en

el cargador, desconéctelo del

tomacorriente inmediatamente.

No sumerja la herra

mienta motorizada en

ningún fluido. También

lea las demás instruccio

nes que vienen con la

batería AP o AR.

Proteja el cargador de la

lluvia y la humedad. Man

tenga el cargador seco.

Úselo y guárdelo bajo

techo y en un recinto

seco.

ADVERTENCIA

Para reducir el riesgo de choque

eléctrico o cortocircuito, no inserte

ningún objeto en las ranuras de

enfriamiento del cargador.

ADVERTENCIA

El cargador se calienta durante el

proceso de carga. No lo manipule sobre

superficies que puedan incendiarse con

facilidad (por ejemplo, papel, cartón o

telas) o en un entorno altamente

combustible – peligro de incendio.

ADVERTENCIA

No trabaje en un lugar peligroso, por

ejemplo, en un lugar donde haya

líquidos combustibles (gases), vapores

o polvo. Los cargadores pueden

producir chispas, las cuales son

capaces de encender el polvo o los

vapores - riesgo de explosión.

Nunca tire del cordón eléctrico para

desconectarlo del tomacorriente de

pared. Para desenchufarlo, sujete el

enchufe y no el cordón. Un enchufe o

cordón eléctrico dañado debe ser

reemplazado, o reparado por un

electricista experimentado.

No use el cordón eléctrico para ningún

otro fin, por ejemplo, para transportar o

sostener el cargador.

Nunca use cordones eléctricos que no

cumplan con los reglamentos.

Asegúrese que el cordón eléctrico esté

ubicado y/o marcado como para que no

se lo pise, se lo lleve por delante, esté

en contacto con bordes cortantes o

partes móviles o, de otro modo sujeto, a

daño o esfuerzo.

No debería usarse un alargador a

menos que sea absolutamente

necesario. Si es imprescindible

utilizarlo, enchufe el cargador en un

cordón de extensión calibre 16

(AWG 16) o de mayor calibre, con

clavijas que sean del mismo número,

tamaño y forma que las del cargador.

ADVERTENCIA

Para reducir el riesgo de descarga

eléctrica:

– Siempre conecte la unidad a un

tomacorriente de pared instalado

correctamente.

– Asegúrese de que el aislamiento

del cordón eléctrico y del enchufe

esté en buenas condiciones.

Desenchufe el cordón eléctrico del

tomacorriente cuando el cargador esté

en desuso.

Nunca guarde una batería en el

cargador.

Lea, comprenda bien y respete el

manual de instrucciones del cargador

STIHL y consérvelo en un lugar seguro.

USO DE LA HERRAMIENTA

MOTORIZADA

Traslado de la unidad

ADVERTENCIA

Siempre desconecte la energía de la

herramienta motorizada, mueva el

pestillo de retención a la posición ƒ y

retire el cable de conexión, aun si se va

a trasladar la máquina una distancia

corta. Transporte la máquina llevándola

por su mango de control. Cuando

transporte la herramienta motorizada en

un vehículo, sujétela firmemente para

evitar que se vuelque y se dañe.

Antes de empezar a trabajar

ADVERTENCIA

Antes de empezar a trabajar, siempre

revise que la herramienta motorizada

esté en buenas condiciones y que

funcione correctamente,

particularmente el gatillo y el pestillo de

retención. El gatillo debe moverse

libremente y siempre debe regresar a la

posición inicial por la acción de resorte

cuando el pestillo de retención se

encuentra en la posición ‚. Cuando el

pestillo de retención se encuentra en la

posición ƒ, debería ser imposible

accionar el gatillo. Nunca intente

modificar los controles o los dispositivos

de seguridad.

Revise regularmente el

cordón eléctrico y el

enchufe del cargador en

busca de daños. Si

alguno de los dos está

dañado, desconecte de

inmediato el enchufe del

tomacorriente de la pared

para evitar el riesgo de

choque eléctrico.

Retire el cable de cone

xión de la herramienta

motorizada. Esto evita el

riesgo de que el motor

arranque

inesperadamente.

ADVERTENCIA

No maneje nunca una herramienta

motorizada que esté dañada, mal

ajustada o mantenida o que no fue

armada completa y debidamente.

ADVERTENCIA

Si la caja del impelente está averiada

(roturas, melladuras, picaduras), esto

puede aumentar el riesgo de sufrir

lesiones por objetos lanzados. Si la caja

del impelente tiene daños, consulte a su

concesionario. STIHL recomienda que

se comunique con su concesionario de

servicio STIHL.

Mantenga el mango limpio y seco en

todo momento; es particularmente

importante mantenerlo libre de

humedad, aceite, grasa o resinas para

garantizar que la máquina pueda

empuñarse firmemente para mantenerla

bajo control seguro.

Revise los contactos del tomacorriente

en busca de materia extraña.

Manténgalos limpios.

Instale el enchufe del cable de conexión

correctamente.

Para arrancar la máquina, vea el

máquina que debe ser manejada por

ADVERTENCIA

Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones

causadas por la pérdida del control,

nunca trabaje sobre una escalera, un

árbol o cualquier otra superficie de

soporte poco seguro. Nunca mantenga

la máquina a una altura más arriba de

los hombros.

El soplador ha sido diseñado para

usarse con una sola mano, con la mano

derecha o izquierda en el mango de

control.

Al trabajar con el soplador, siempre

cierre firmemente los dedos alrededor

del mango, manteniéndolo bien

apoyado entre el pulgar y dedo índice.

Mantenga la mano en esta posición,

para que siempre tenga la máquina bien

controlada.

Para reducir el riesgo de tropezarse y de

perder el control, no camine hacia atrás

mientras está utilizando la máquina.

Se debe tener cuidado especial cuando

las condiciones del suelo son

resbaladizas (suelo húmedo, nieve) y en

terreno difícil y con mucha vegetación.

Para evitar tropezarse, esté atento a los

obstáculos ocultos tales como tocones,

raíces y zanjas. Para obtener un punto

de apoyo seguro, quite las ramas

caídas, los matorrales y el material

cortado. Sea sumamente precavido

cuando trabaje en declives o terreno

irregular.

Condiciones de trabajo

ADVERTENCIA

Maneje la máquina solamente en

lugares al aire libre, en condiciones de

buena visibilidad y a la luz del día.

Trabaje con mucho cuidado.

La herramienta motorizada puede

emplearse bajo la lluvia y con humedad.

Seque la herramienta motorizada

después de haber terminado los

trabajos.

No deje la máquina al aire libre bajo la

lluvia.

ADVERTENCIA

Se podría acumular electricidad estática

cuando se soplan cantidades grandes

de materiales polvorientos, la cual

podría descargarse con una chispa en

determinadas condiciones

desfavorables (por ej.: una zona de

trabajo muy seca).

ADVERTENCIA

La inhalación de ciertos polvos,

especialmente los polvos orgánicos,

tales como el moho o polen, puede

provocar reacciones alérgicas o

asmáticas en las personas sensibles. La

inhalación repetida o de grandes

cantidades de polvo u otros

otro tipo. Controle el polvo en su fuente,

siempre que sea posible. Utilice buenas

prácticas de trabajo, tal como trabajar

de manera que el viento o el proceso de

corte dirija el polvo producido por la

herramienta motorizada en sentido

opuesto del operador. Observe las

recomendaciones emitidas por

EPA/OSHA/NIOSH y las asociaciones

de trabajo y los sindicatos con respecto

al polvo ("materia particulada"). Si no es

posible controlar la inhalación de polvo

de manera significativa, es decir,

mantenerla al nivel de ambiente (fondo)

o cerca del mismo, el operador y los

demás deberán usar una mascarilla de

respiración aprobada por NIOSH /

MSHA para el tipo de polvo existente.

ADVERTENCIA

Si la sustancia que se está soplando es

un producto comercial, repase, entienda

y respete todas las advertencias e

instrucciones contenidas en la hoja de

datos de seguridad de materiales de la

sustancia y/o consulte al

fabricante/proveedor del producto. El

estado de California y algunas otras

autoridades han publicado varias listas

de sustancias carcinógenas, de

toxicidad reproductora, etc.

ADVERTENCIA

La aspiración del polvo de asbesto es

peligrosa y puede causar lesiones

graves o mortales, enfermedades de las

vías respiratorias o cáncer. El uso y

desecho de productos que contengan

asbesto está estrictamente regulado por

la OSHA y la Agencia de Protección

Ambiental. Si por cualquier motivo cree

que está soplando o perturbando

asbesto, deje de trabajar

inmediatamente y póngase en contacto

con la EPA, su empleador o un

representante de OSHA local.

ADVERTENCIA

El polvo que contenga sílice puede

contener sílice cristalina. La sílice es un

componente básico de la arena, cuarzo,

ladrillos, arcilla, granito y numerosos

minerales y rocas, incluyendo productos

de mampostería y de hormigón. La

inhalación repetida y/o sustancial de la

sílice cristalina en suspensión en el aire

puede causar una enfermedad

respiratoria grave o mortal, incluida la

silicosis. Además, el estado de

California y algunas otras autoridades

han colocado a la sílice cristalina en la

lista de sustancias carcinógenas.

Cuando trabaje con tales materiales,

siempre tome las medidas de

precaución respiratorias antes

mencionadas.

Preste atención a la dirección del viento,

es decir, nunca trabaje contra el viento.

Instrucciones de manejo

ADVERTENCIA

En caso de emergencia, apague el

motor inmediatamente, mueva el

pestillo de retención a la posición ƒ y

retire el cable de conexión.

ADVERTENCIA

Para reducir el riesgo de ocasionar

daños a la propiedad, mantenga esta

distancia con respecto a los vehículos y

las ventanas.

Esté especialmente alerta y tenga

cuidado cuando se usa protectores de

oídos, ya que los mismos reducen la

posibilidad de oír señales de

advertencia (gritos, alarmas, etc.).

Apague el motor inmediatamente si se

le aproxima alguna persona.

Para reducir el riesgo de sufrir lesiones

personales, nunca dirija el chorro de aire

hacia otras personas, puesto que la

presión elevada del chorro puede

lesionar los ojos y lanzar objetos

Al trabajar en suelos despejados y

hortalizas, esté atento a la presencia de

animales pequeños para evitar

causarles algún daño.

ADVERTENCIA

El ventilador soplador ubicado entre el

conducto de admisión y las aberturas de

salida gira siempre que el motor esté en

marcha. Para reducir el riesgo de

lesionarse por el contacto con el

ventilador, nunca ponga el soplador en

marcha sin tener el tubo debidamente

montado o con la rejilla de admisión

dañada.

ADVERTENCIA

Nunca inserte objetos extraños en la

toma de aire de la máquina ni en la

boquilla del soplador. Esto puede dañar

el ventilador y puede causar lesiones

graves al operador o a las demás

personas, como resultado de los objetos

o partículas lanzados a velocidad alta.

No coloque el soplador en el suelo

mientras funciona a velocidad alta,

puesto que objetos pequeños tales

como arena, pasto, polvo, etc. pueden

aspirarse por la toma de aire y dañar el

rotor del ventilador. Se recomienda

apagar la máquina antes de colocarla en

el suelo.

Después de completar el trabajo

Siempre limpie el polvo y la suciedad de

la herramienta motorizada – no utilice

disolventes de grasa para este

propósito.

MANTENIMIENTO, REPARACIÓN Y

ALMACENAMIENTO

Si usted reclama la garantía de algún

componente que no ha sido reparado o

mantenido debidamente, STIHL puede

denegar la garantía.

ADVERTENCIA

Utilice solamente piezas de repuesto de

STIHL idénticas a las originales para el

mantenimiento y las reparaciones. El

uso de piezas no fabricadas por STIHL

puede causar lesiones graves o incluso

mortales.

Respete rigurosamente las

ADVERTENCIA

otros líquidos.

hidrolavadora. El potente chorro de

agua podría dañar piezas de la

máquina.

Mantenga el tomacorriente del cable de

conexión libre de cuerpos extraños.

Argolla de transporte

Con la batería STIHL AR, usted puede

enganchar la argolla de transporte del

soplador a una almohadilla para cadera

en el arnés.

Utilice únicamente baterías tipo AR con

el arnés provisto. No se debe combinar

con ninguna otra correa de transporte

(p. ej., correa para hombros, arnés

completo, etc.).

Se realiza una prueba de error luego de

que el cargador se conecta al suministro

de energía eléctrica. Durante este

proceso el diodo fotoemisor (1) del

cargador se ilumina de verde durante 1

segundo aproximadamente, luego de

rojo y luego se apaga otra vez.

Una batería de fábrica nueva no está

completamente cargada.

Recomendación: Cargue

completamente la batería antes de

usarla por primera vez.

N Conecte el cargador al suministro

de energía eléctrica – el voltaje de la

red y el voltaje de funcionamiento

del cargador deben ser idénticos –

Consulte “Conexión del cargador al

Utilice el cargador únicamente en un

lugar cerrado y seco, con una

temperatura ambiente de +5 °C a

+40 °C (40 °F a 104 °F).

Cargue las baterías únicamente cuando

están secas. Dejar que una batería

húmeda se seque antes de cargarla.

Carga de la batería STIHL AP

N Meta la batería (1) en el

La carga se inicia tan pronto como los

El tiempo de carga depende de varios

La batería se calienta al usarla en la

herramienta motorizada. Si se coloca

una batería caliente dentro del

cargador, es posible que deba enfriarse

antes de cargarla. El proceso de carga

está fría. El tiempo que la batería

necesita para enfriarse puede prolongar

el tiempo de carga.

batería.

Cargador AL 100

El cargador AL 100 no tiene ventilador y

espera a que la batería se enfríe para

iniciar el proceso de carga. La batería se

enfría normalmente por medio de

transferir el calor al aire.

Culminación del proceso de carga

El cargador se apaga automáticamente

cuando la batería está completamente

cargada:

– los diodos fotoemisores de la

batería se apagan

– El diodo fotoemisor del cargador se

apaga

– El ventilador del cargador se apaga

(si viene con el cargador)

Las baterías STIHL cumplen con los

SET/SEG/CA.10/11/Ver.5/Parte III,

Subsección 38.3.

El transporte comercial por aire, agua y

tierra de celdas de ion de litio y baterías

está regulado. Esta batería está

clasificada como un producto UN 3480,

Clase 9 y grupo de envasado 2. Para

transportarla, ya sea como parte de la

herramienta completa o sola, es

necesario cumplir con todas las normas

de transporte correspondientes. Antes

del transporte o traslado, consulte con la

empresa de transporte por tierra o agua,

motor con emisiones nulas de su equipo

pequeño de uso fuera de carretera del

año 2021 y posteriores.

En California, el equipo nuevo que tiene

motores pequeños con emisiones nulas

para uso fuera de carretera debe estar

diseñado, construido y equipado de

conformidad con las rigurosas normas

de contaminación del aire del estado.

STIHL Incorporated debe garantizar el

sistema de control de emisiones del

motor pequeño con emisiones nulas

para uso fuera de carretera por los

intervalos que se mencionan más

adelante, siempre que dicho motor o

equipo no haya estado sujeto a maltrato,

negligencia o cuidado inapropiado y ello

causara la falla del sistema de control de

emisiones.

El sistema de control de emisiones

puede tener componentes tales como

unidad de control del motor, una batería

y un cargador de baterías.

Si se da una condición amparada por la

garantía, STIHL Incorporated reparará

el motor pequeño con emisiones nulas

para equipo de uso fuera de carretera

sin costo alguno, incluido el diagnóstico,

las piezas y la mano de obra.

RESPONSABILIDADES DEL

FABRICANTE EN RELACIÓN CON LA

GARANTÍA

El sistema de control de emisiones de

su motor pequeño para uso fuera de

carretera tiene una garantía de dos

años. Si está defectuoso alguno de los

RESPONSABILIDADES DEL

Como propietario de motor pequeño con

INCORPORATED

STIHL Incorporated garantiza al último

comprador y a cada uno de los

para equipo de uso fuera de carretera

está diseñado, construido y equipado,

en el momento de la venta, de

conformidad con todos los reglamentos

sobre emisiones aplicables.

Además, STIHL Incorporated garantiza

también al comprador inicial y a cada

comprador subsiguiente que el motor

con emisiones nulas está libre de

defectos de fabricación y de materiales

que podrían provocar que el motor no

cumpliera los reglamentos sobre

emisiones aplicables durante un

período de dos años.

PERÍODO DE GARANTÍA CONTRA

DEFECTOS

El período de garantía comenzará el día

en que el comprador inicial adquiera el

motor con emisiones nulas de equipo

utilitario. Si cualquier pieza de su motor

de emisiones nulas relacionada con el

sistema de control de emisiones está

defectuosa, será sustituida por STIHL

Incorporated sin costo alguno para el

propietario.

No está permitido usar componentes

adicionales o modificados que no hayan

sido eximidos por el Consejo de

Recursos del Aire (CARB). El uso de

cualquier componente adicional o

modificado no eximido será motivo de

denegación de la garantía. STIHL

Incorporated no asumirá

Si el componente falla antes de la

nulas debe repararlo o sustituirlo de

abajo. Cualquier componente de

este tipo que se haya reparado o

debe garantizarse por el resto del

sustitución programado para el

componente.

4 La reparación o sustitución de

cualquier componente cubierto por

la garantía debe llevarse a cabo en

una estación de reparaciones de

garantía sin costo alguno para el

propietario.

5 No obstante lo expuesto en la

subsección (4), más arriba, los

servicios o las reparaciones bajo

garantía se proveerán en todos los

centros de distribución del

fabricante autorizados para dar

servicio a los motores con

6 Al propietario no se le debe cobrar

el trabajo de diagnóstico que

establece que el componente

garantizado está realmente

defectuoso, siempre y cuando este

trabajo de diagnóstico se lleve a

cabo en una estación de

reparaciones bajo garantía.

TRABAJO BAJO GARANTÍA

STIHL Incorporated reparará los

defectos amparados por la garantía en

cualquier estación de garantía o centro

de servicio autorizado por STIHL.

Cualquier trabajo de este tipo se llevará

a cabo sin costo alguno para el

propietario si se determina que la pieza

cubierta por la garantía está defectuosa.
