Important Safe Operation Practices

Training

1. Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the

machine and in the manual(s) before attempting to

assemble and operate. Keep this manual in a safe place for

future and regular reference and for ordering replacement

parts.

2. Be familiar with all controls and their proper operation.

Know how to stop the machine and disengage them

quickly.

3. Never allow children under 14 years of age to operate this

machine. Children 14 and over should read and understand

the instructions and safe operation practices in this manual

and on the machine and be trained and supervised by an

adult.

4. Never allow adults to operate this machine without proper

instruction.

5. Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, particularly

small children and pets. Stop machine if anyone enters the

area.

Preparation

1. Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to

be used. Remove all stones, sticks, wire, and other foreign

objects which could be tripped over and cause personal

injury.

2. Wear sturdy, rough-soled work shoes and close fitting

slacks and shirt. Loose fitting clothes or jewelry can be

caught in moving parts. Never operate this machine in bare

feet or sandals.

3. Disengage clutch levers and shift (if provided) into neutral

(“N”) before starting the engine.

4. Never leave this machine unattended with the engine

running.

5. Never attempt to make any adjustments while engine is

running, except where specifically recommended in the

operator’s manual.

Safe Handling of Gasoline:

To avoid personal injury or property damage use extreme care

in handling gasoline. Gasoline is extremely flammable and the

vapors are explosive. Serious personal injury can occur when

gasoline is spilled on yourself or your clothes which can ignite.

Wash your skin and change clothes immediately.

• Use only an approved gasoline container.

• Never fill containers inside a vehicle or on a truck

or trailer bed with a plastic liner. Always place

containers on the ground away from your vehicle

before filling.

11. After striking a foreign object, stop the engine, disconnect

the spark plug wire and ground against the engine.

Thoroughly inspect the machine for any damage. Repair

the damage before starting and operating.

12. Disengage all clutch levers (if fitted) and stop engine

before you leave the operating position (behind the

handles). Wait until the tines come to a complete stop

before unclogging the tines, making any adjustments, or

inspections.

13. Never run an engine indoors or in a poorly ventilated area.

Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, an odorless

and deadly gas.

14. Muffler and engine become hot and can cause a burn. Do

not touch.

15. Use caution when tilling near fences, buildings and

underground utilities. Rotating tines can cause property

damage or personal injury.

16. Do not overload machine capacity by attempting to till soil

too deep at too fast of a rate.

17. If the machine should start making an unusual noise or

vibration, stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire

and ground it against the engine. Inspect thoroughly for

damage. Repair any damage before starting and operating.

18. Keep all shields, guards, and safety devices in place and

operating properly.

19. Never pick up or carry machine while the engine is running.

20. Use only attachments and accessories approved by the

manufacturer. Failure to do so can result in personal injury.

21. If situations occur which are not covered in this manual, use

care and good judgement. Contact Customer Support for

assistance and the name of you nearest servicing dealer..

Maintenance & Storage

1. Keep machine, attachments and accessories in safe

working order.

2. Allow a machine to cool at least five minutes before

storing. Never tamper with safety devices. Check their

proper operation regularly.

3. Check bolts and screws for proper tightness at frequent

intervals to keep the machine in safe working condition.

Also, visually inspect machine for any damage.

4. Before cleaning, repairing, or inspecting, stop the engine

and make certain the tines and all moving parts have

stopped. Disconnect the spark plug wire and ground it

against the engine to prevent unintended starting.

5. Do not change the engine governor settings or over-speed

the engine. The governor controls the maximum safe

operating speed of engine.

6. Maintain or replace safety and instruction labels, as

necessary.

7. Follow this manual for safe loading, unloading,

transporting, and storage of this machine.

8. Always refer to the operator’s manual for important details

if the machine is to be stored for an extended period.

• When practical, remove gas-powered equipment

from the truck or trailer and refuel it on the ground.

If this is not possible, then refuel such equipment on

a trailer with a portable container, rather than from a

gasoline dispenser nozzle.

• Keep the nozzle in contact with the rim of the fuel

tank or container opening at all times until fueling is

complete. Do not use a nozzle lock-open device.

• Extinguish all cigarettes, cigars, pipes and other

sources of ignition.

• Never fuel machine indoors.

• Never remove gas cap or add fuel while the engine

is hot or running. Allow engine to cool at least two

minutes before refueling.

• Never over fill fuel tank. Fill tank to no more than ½

inch below bottom of filler neck to allow space for

fuel expansion.

• Replace gasoline cap and tighten securely.

• If gasoline is spilled, wipe it off the engine and

equipment. Move unit to another area. Wait 5

minutes before starting the engine.

• To reduce fire hazards, keep machine free of grass,

leaves, or other debris build-up. Clean up oil or fuel

spillage and remove any fuel soaked debris.

• Never store the machine or fuel container inside

where there is an open flame, spark or pilot light

as on a water heater, space heater, furnace, clothes

dryer or other gas appliances.

Operation

1. Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts. Contact with

the rotating parts can amputate hands and feet.

2. Do not operate machine while under the influence of

alcohol or drugs.

3. Never operate this machine without good visibility or light.

Always be sure of your footing and keep a firm hold on the

handles.

4. Keep bystanders away from the machine while it is in

operation. Stop the machine if anyone enters the area.

5. Be careful when tilling in hard ground. The tines may catch

in the ground and propel the tiller forward. If this occurs,

let go of the handle bars and do not restrain the machine.

6. Exercise extreme caution when operating on or crossing

gravel surfaces. Stay alert for hidden hazards or traffic. Do

not carry passengers.

7. Never operate the machine at high transport speeds on

hard or slippery surfaces.

8. Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling.

9. Look down and behind and use care when in reverse or

pulling machine towards you.

10. Start the engine according to the instructions found in this

manual and keep feet well away from the tines at all times.

9. If the fuel tank has to be drained, do this outdoors.

10. Observe proper disposal laws and regulations for gas, oil,

etc. to protect the environment.

11. According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission

(CPSC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),

this product has an Average Useful Life of seven (7) years,

or 130 hours of operation. At the end of the Average Useful

Life have the machine inspected annually by an authorized

service dealer to ensure that all mechanical and safety

systems are working properly and not worn excessively.

Failure to do so can result in accidents, injuries or death.

Notice Regarding Emissions

Engines which are certified to comply with California and federal

EPA emission regulations for SORE (Small Off Road Equipment)

are certified to operate on regular unleaded gasoline, and

may include the following emission control systems: Engine

Modification (EM), Oxidizing Catalyst (OC), Secondary Air

Injection (SAI) and Three Way Catalyst (TWC) if so equipped.

Spark Arrestor

WARNING! This machine is equipped with an

internal combustion engine and should not be used

on or near any unimproved forest-covered,

brushcovered or grass-covered land unless the

engine’s exhaust system is equipped with a spark

arrestor meeting applicable local or state laws (if

any).

If a spark arrestor is used, it should be maintained in effective

working order by the operator. In the State of California the

above is required by law (Section 4442 of the California Public

Resources Code). Other states may have similar laws. Federal laws

apply on federal lands.

A spark arrestor for the muffler is available through your

nearest engine authorized service dealer or contact the service

References to the right and left side of tiller are observed from

the operating position.

1. Identify the forward and reverse clutch cables. See Figure 3-1.

NOTE: Be sure not to kink cables while attaching.

2. Hook the “Z” end of the forward clutch cable (A) into the

forward tine engagement lever. See Figure 3-2.

3. Hook the “Z” end of the reverse clutch cable (B) into the

reverse tine engagement lever. See Figure 3-2.

4. Remove the hex bolt and cupped washer from the right

side of the frame. Hold the cable guide bracket on the left

side of the frame as it will fall when the bolt is removed.

5. Insert the handle into the tiller frame as shown in Step 2 of

Figure 3-3.

6. Insert the bolt through the cupped washer, frame, handle

and into the cable guide bracket (note the notch in the

cable guide bracket goes over the flange on the frame.)

7. Tighten the bolt securely after securing the handle brace.

See Figure 3-4.

8. Locate the carriage bolt, bell washer and hand knob

packed with your tiller.

9. Insert the carriage bolt through the welded bracket on the

handle, bell washer, handle brace and into the hand knob.

See Figure 3-4.

10. Select one of the three handle height positions (three

notches in the welded handle bracket) and tighten the

hand knob to secure the handle in the desired position. See

Figure 3-4. Return to the lower handle and tighten the hex

bolt securely.

1. Remove the two hex bolts from the depth stake assembly.

2. Insert the depth stake assembly into the frame and reinstall

the two hex bolts removed in step 1. Tighten the hex bolts

securely. See Figure 3-6.

3. Secure the pin with the clip. The depth stake can be placed

at various positions. For setup purposes it is suggested that

the depth stake be assembled with the stake just above

or level with the ground surface. For further instructions

on the Depth Stake refer to the Operation Section of this

manual.

Adjustments

Wheels

The tiller is shipped with the wheels adjusted so that the

machine sits level. The wheels need to be adjusted to meet

your tilling needs before operation. This adjustment is made

by removing the clevis pin from the wheel yoke and raising the

wheels to the desired height. See Figure 3-7.

Clutch Cables Adjustment

Before operating the tiller the adjustment of the forward and

reverse drive cables must be checked.

1. Disconnect and ground the spark plug wire against the

engine.

2. Adjust either the forward or reverse clutch cable by

loosening the hex nut. See Figure 3-8.

3. Turn the cable collar section one or two turns to increase or

decrease tension on the cable. See Figure 3-8.

4. Retighten the lock nut against the cable collar. See Figure

3-8.

5. With the forward and reverse tine engagement handles in

the neutral — released — position, pull the starter rope

several times. The tines should not turn.

6. If they turn forward, adjust the forward tine engagement

cable to release tension using the previous steps in this

section. If the tines turn toward the rear, adjust the reverse

tine engagement cable to lesson the tension as with

previous steps.

7. Check again for correct tension on the cables.

8. After tilling, if the tines stop moving, re-adjust the cables.

Set-Up

Gas & Oil Fill-Up

Service the Engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the

separate Engine Operator’s Manual packed with your tiller. Read

the instructions carefully.

WARNING! Use extreme care when handling

gasoline. Gasoline is extremely flammable and the

vapors are explosive. Never fuel the machine

indoors or while the engine is hot or running.

functions of the engine controls.

Forward Tine Engagement Lever

The forward tine control lever is located beneath the upper

section of the handle. Squeezing the lever against the handle

engages the tine drive. Release the lever to stop the tines.

Reverse Tine Engagement Lever

The reverse tine control lever is located on top of the upper

section of the handle. Pulling the lever toward the operator

engages the tines in reverse. Release the lever to stop the tines.

NOTE: Never engage both the forward and reverse tine drives at

the same time. Engaging both forward and reverse tine drives

at the same time could damage the belt drives and cause the

engine to stall.

Depth Gauge

The depth gauge controls the tilling depth.

Tines & End Caps

Tilling tines and end caps are used to cultivate, furrow and

prepare your garden for seeding. End caps are used to avoid

tilled soil from overflowing onto unwanted areas.

Handle Knob

The handle height may be adjusted. Loosen the knob to change

the position. Tighten the hardware when complete.

Starting & Stopping the Engine

WARNING! Read, understand, and follow all the

instructions and warnings posted on the machine

and in this manual before operating.

WARNING! Be sure no one is standing in front of

the tiller while the engine is running or being

started.

Attach the spark plug wire to the spark plug. Make sure the metal

cap on the end of the spark plug is fastened securely over the

metal tip on the spark plug and refer to the Engine Operator’s

Manual for starting and stopping instructions.

NOTE: Disconnect the spark plug wire and ground it to prevent

accidentally starting the tiller while it is unattended.

Setting the Depth

Place the wheel yoke so that the wheels are facing forward (angled

toward the tines) for shallow tilling, cultivating and transport. See

Figure 4-1.

Place the wheel yoke so that the wheels are toward the rear (angled

toward the depth stake) for deep tilling and cultivating. See Figure 4-2.

Depth Gauge

The depth gauge acts as a brake for the tiller and controls the

depth and speed at which the machine will operate. Remove the

clevis pin and hairpin clip to raise or lower the depth stake. See

Figure 4-3.

Handle Pressure

Further control of the tilling depth and travel speed can be

obtained by variation of pressure on the handles.

Downward pressure on the handles will reduce the working

depth and increase the forward speed. Upward pressure on the

handles will increase the working depth and reduce the forward

speed.

The type of soil and working conditions will determine the actual

setting of the depth gauge and the handle pressure required.

Transporting & Storing the Tiller

To transport and store the tiller move the throttle to the stop

position. Pivot the depth stake away from the ground and up

between the wheels. See Figure 4-3.

Using Your Tiller

Your tiller is designed for seed bed preparation, cultivating,

furrowing and mulching.

Tilling Procedure

When tilling, leave approximately eight inches of untilled soil

between the first and second tilling paths, then make the third

path between the first and second, see Figure 4-4.

In some soils, the desired depth is obtained the first time over

the garden. In other soils, the desired depth is obtained by going

over the garden two or three times. Passes should be made

across the length and width of the garden alternately. Rocks

which are turned up should be removed from the garden area.

Cultivating Procedures

For cultivating, a two to three inch depth is desirable. The tine

width can be reduced to 13 inches by removing the outer tines

completely from the tiller. See the Maintenance & Adjustments

Section for instructions on removing the tines.

When laying out plant rows, be sure to allow enough width to

permit cultivation between the rows. In growing corn or similar

crops, check-row planting will permit cross cultivation and

practically eliminate hand hoeing. See Figure 4-5.

Other Uses

The tiller has many uses other than tilling and cultivating a

garden. One of these is the preparation of lawn area for seeding.

The tiller will prepare a deep seed bed which will be free of hard

untilled spots, allowing a better stand of grass to grow. The tiller

is very useful for loosening hard soil for excavation with a shovel;

No tedious handwork will be necessary. Your tiller may be used

for mixing compost in the pile or for mixing it with the soil in

your garden. This should be done after the soil has been broken

to the full working depth. The compost should be worked in

to a depth of six to seven inches. This may be done by working

the length of the garden and then by making separate passes

across its width. The addition of decayed organic matter will

substantially increase the fertility of your garden. For proper

decaying action, fertilizer should be applied and worked in with

the mulch materials. Breaking up leaves and straw and mixing it

with several inches of soil allows proper aeration of the plant root

system and retards the growth of weeds.

Refer to the separate Engine Operator’s Manual for engine

maintenance instructions.

Tines

Clean the underside of the tine shield after each use. The dirt

washes off the tines easier if rinsed off immediately instead of

after it dries. Always towel dry the tiller afterwards and apply a

light coat of oil or silicone to prevent rusting or water damage.

NOTE: Never use a pressure washer to clean your tiller. Water can

penetrate tight areas of the tiller and its chain case and cause

serious damage to the machine.

Refer to the Assembly & Set-Up section of this manual for

instructions on adjusting the forward and reverse cables.

End Caps

The end caps, used to prevent tilled soil from overflowing onto

unwanted areas, are removable from the axle. Remove the

hairpin clip and clevis pin that secure each end cap and slide the

end caps off the axle. See Figure 5-1.

Tines

With the outer tines installed, the working width of the machine

is 24”. This width may be expanded to 26” by removing the clevis

and cotter pins, sliding each outer tine outward away from the

center of the tiller and re-securing the pins in the holes provided.

See Figure 5-2.

Lubrication

Pivot Points

Remove the belt cover and lubricate all the pivot points and

linkages at least once per season with light oil. Keep the belts free of

lubrication.

Tine Shafts

Remove the tine assemblies and lubricate the tine shafts at least

once per season.

Wheel Shafts

Remove the wheel assemblies and lubricate the axle shafts at

least once per season.

Chain Drive

The chain drive is pre-lubricated and sealed at the factory.

14 Section 5— Maintenance & Service

Off-Season Storage

When the tiller won’t be used for an extended period, prepare it

for storage as follows:

1. Clean the tiller and engine.

2. Routinely lubricate tiller and check for loose parts and

hardware.

3. Change the engine oil and filter following the instructions

provided in the engine manual packed with this manual.

WARNING! Never store the tiller with fuel in the

tank indoors or in poorly ventilated enclosures, where

fuel fumes may reach an open flame, spark or pilot

light as on a furnace, water heater, clothes dryer, etc.

4. If storing the tiller for 30 days or more:

a. To prevent gum deposits from forming inside

the engine’s carburetor and causing possible

malfunction of the engine, the fuel system must be

either completely emptied, or the gasoline must be

treated with a stabilizer to prevent deterioration.

WARNING! Fuel left in the fuel tank deteriorates

and will cause serious starting problems.

b. Using a fuel stabilizer such as STA-BIL® for storage

between 30 and 90 days:

• Read the product manufacturer’s instructions

and recommendations.

• Add to clean, fresh gasoline the correct

amount of stabilizer for the capacity

(approximately 3 gallons) of the fuel system.

• Fill the fuel tank with treated fuel and run the

engine for 2-3 minutes to get stabilized fuel

into the carburetor.

c. Emptying the fuel system for storage of more than

90 days:

• Prior to putting the tiller in storage, monitor

fuel consumption with the goal of running

the fuel tank empty.

• Run the engine until it begins to stall. Use the

choke to keep the engine running until all fuel

in the carburetor has been exhausted.

• Referring to the engine manual, drain the fuel

from the carburetor bowl.

5. Store the tiller in a clean, dry area.

6. Never store the tiller with fuel in the fuel tank in an

enclosed area where gas fumes could reach an open flame

or spark, or where ignition sources are present (space

heaters, hot water heaters, furnaces, etc.).

Belt Replacement

Reverse Drive Belt

Your tiller has been engineered with a belt made of special

material (Kevlar Tensile) for longer life and better performance. It

should not be replaced with an off-the-shelf belt. Order all belts

through you authorized service dealer.

1. Disconnect and ground the spark plug wire against the engine.

2. Remove the belt cover from the left side of the tiller by

removing the two self-tapping screws and the hex stop nut

and washer. See Figure 5-1.

3. Remove the belt from the transmission pulley and then

from around the reverse idler pulley. See Figure 5-2.

4. To reassemble the new belt, follow the instructions in

reverse order. Be sure to place the wider side of the belt

against the transmission and the idler pulley while the

slimmer side goes over the engine pulley. See Figure 5-2.

NOTE: Upon reassembly, make certain the belt is routed

over the idler pulley and inside of the belt keepers by the

engine pulley. See Figure 5-2.

5. Remove the reverse drive belt as instructed in the previous

section.

6. Remove the return spring. See Figure 5-3.

7. Remove the idler pulley bolt and move the belt from under

the idler pulley keeper. See Figure 5-4.

8. The forward idler belt will not clear the belt keepers near

the engine pulley. You must remove the reverse idler

bracket to allow the belt to move off of the engine pulley.

Remove the two securing screws and move the bracket

toward the transmission pulley. Retain the screws for

reassembly. See Figure 5-5.

9. Remove the belt from the reverse idler pulley and then

10. To reassemble the new belt, follow the instructions in

reverse order. Be sure to place the wider side of the belt

away from the engine and transmission pulleys.

NOTE: Upon reassembly, make certain that the idler pulley

keeper is as shown in Figure 5-4. Take note of the notch

on the bottom of the keeper and the alignment when

reassembling with the replacement belt.

Limited Warranty

The limited warranty set forth herein is given by Troy-Bilt LLC with respect

to new XP model chore products, including, but not limited to, chipper/

shredders, logsplitters, wheeled edgers, wheeled string trimmers, and

tillers (hereinafter “XP Chore Product”) purchased and used in the United

States and/or Canada to the Initial Purchaser (as defined herein). This

limited warranty does not cover Emission Control Systems and is not a

Federal Emission Control Warranty Statement as defined by U.S. federal

law. Please refer to the Federal Emission Control Warranty Statement in the

operator’s manual for warranties covering Emission Control Systems.

Scope of the Limited Warranty

Troy-Bilt LLC offers the following limited warranty to the Initial Purchaser

for residential or otherwise non-commercial use: except for the Exclusions

(defined herein), during the Warranty Period (as defined herein), this

XP Chore Product will be free from manufacturing defects (including

workmanship and materials). The “Initial Purchaser” is the first person to

purchase this new XP Chore Product from an authorized Troy-Bilt dealer,

distributor and/or retailer of such products. This limited warranty is non-

transferrable. Except as otherwise set forth herein, the limited warranty

period for this new XP Chore Product purchased by the Initial Purchaser

is three (3) years from the date of purchase as shown on the original sales

receipt for the product (“Warranty Period”).

Defects in Workmanship or Materials

Except for the Exclusions, this XP Chore Product is warranted to be free

from manufacturing defects in either workmanship or materials for the

Warranty Period. During the Warranty Period, Troy-Bilt LLC will, at its

option, either repair or replace any original part that is covered by this

limited warranty and is determined to be defective in workmanship or

material.

To qualify for this limited warranty this XP Chore Product:

1. Must have been purchased from an authorized retailer.

2. Must have been purchased within the United States by the Initial

Purchaser.

3. Must have been used for residential purposes only.

4. Must have been used in a manner consistent with the normal and proper

intended use for this XP Chore Product. This XP Chore Product is not

intended for rental or commercial use.

Who can perform repairs under this warranty?

In order to qualify for the limited warranty as set forth herein, the repairs

made under this warranty must be performed by an authorized Troy-Bilt

service provider.

How to get service under this limited warranty:

WARRANTY SERVICE.

What this limited warranty does not cover.

This limited warranty does not cover the following (the “Exclusions”):

1. Product purchased outside of the United States.

2. Emission Control Systems. These items are subject to a separate warranty

under the applicable Federal Emission Control Warranty Statement. Please

refer to the applicable Federal Emission Control Warranty Statement for

terms and conditions relating to Emission Control Systems.

3. Damage due to lack of maintenance and/or improper maintenance as

described in the operator’s manual.

4. Normal wear and tear resulting from use of the product.

5. Any expendable, consumable, or routine maintenance item which needs

replacement or service as part of normal maintenance, unless such items

have defects that cause failure or premature wear within the first thirty (30)

days of purchase. Normal wear items include but are not limited to, tires,

oil filters, air filters, spark plugs, belts, filters, fuses, batteries, belts, blades,

blade adapters, XP Chore Product skid shoes, friction wheels, shave plates,

auger spiral rubber, and other consumable items.

6. Use of the product that is not consistent with the intended use thereof as

described in the operating instructions, including, but not limited to, abuse,

misuse and/or neglect of the XP Chore Product or any use inconsistent

with and/or non-compliant with instructions contained in the Operator’s

Manual.

7. Any XP Chore Product that has been altered or modified in a manner not

consistent with the original design of the XP Chore Product or in a manner

not approved by Troy-Bilt LLC.

8. Paint repairs or replacements for defective paint (including materials and

application) are covered for a period of three (3) months.

9. Wheel rims are covered for a period of three (3) months for

manufacturing defects.

This warranty does not cover and Troy-Bilt LLC disclaims any

responsibility for:

1. Loss of time or loss of use of the XP Chore Product.

2. Transportation costs and other expenses incurred in connection with

the transport of the XP Chore Product to and from the authorized Troy-Bilt

service provider.

3. Any loss or damage to other equipment or personal items.

4. Damages caused by improper maintenance or the use of other than the

specified fuel, oil or lubricants as approved in the operator’s manual.

5. Damage resulting from the installation or use of any accessory or part not

approved by Troy-Bilt for use with the XP Chore Product.

Limitations:

1. THERE ARE NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED

TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR

A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NO WARRANTY SHALL APPLY AFTER THE

APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD AS SET FORTH ABOVE AS TO THE PARTS

AS IDENTIFIED. NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTY OR GUARANTY, WHETHER

Capacitación

1. Lea, entienda y cumpla todas las instrucciones incluidas en la

máquina y en el(los) manual(es) antes de intentar realizar el

montaje de la unidad y utilizarla. Guarde este manual en un lugar

seguro para consultas futuras y periódicas, así como para solicitar

repuestos.

2. Familiarícese con todos los controles y con el uso adecuado de los

mismos. Sepa cómo detener la máquina y desactivar los controles

rápidamente.

3. No permita nunca que los niños menores de 14 años utilicen esta

máquina. Los niños de 14 años en adelante deben leer y entender

las instrucciones y las normas de seguridad contenidas en este

manual y en la máquina, y deben ser entrenados y supervisados

por un adulto.

4. Nunca permita que los adultos operen esta máquina sin recibir

antes la instrucción apropiada.

5. Mantenga el área de operación despejada de personas,

especialmente niños pequeños y mascotas. Detenga la máquina si

alguien ingresa a la zona.

Preparativos

1. Inspeccione minuciosamente el área donde utilizará el equipo.

Saque todas las piedras, palos, cables y otros objetos extraños con

los que alguien pueda tropezar o sufrir lesiones personales.

2. Utilice zapatos de trabajo resistentes, de suela fuerte, así como

pantalones y camisas ajustados. Las ropas sueltas o las joyas

pueden atascarse en las partes móviles. Nunca haga funcionar la

máquina descalzo o con sandalias.

3. Desenganche las palancas del embrague y el cambio (si fue

suministrado) a neutral ("N") antes de encender el motor.

4. Nunca deje la máquina en funcionamiento sin vigilancia.

5. Nunca intente hacer ajustes mientras el motor está en marcha,

excepto cuando así lo recomiende específicamente el manual del

operador.

Manejo seguro de la gasolina:

Para evitar lesiones personales o daños materiales tenga mucho cuidado

al manipular la gasolina. La gasolina es sumamente inflamable y sus

vapores pueden causar explosiones. Si se derrama gasolina encima o

sobre la ropa se puede lesionar gravemente ya que se puede encender.

Lávese la piel y cámbiese de ropa de inmediato.

• Utilice sólo los recipientes para gasolina autorizados.

• Nunca llene los recipientes dentro de un vehículo o

11. Después de golpear algún objeto extraño, detenga el motor,

desconecte el cable de la bujía y conéctelo a tierra con el motor.

Inspeccione minuciosamente la máquina para ver si está dañada.

Repare el daño antes de volver a arrancar y operar la máquina.

12. Desenganche todas las palancas de embrague (si fueron

suministradas) y detenga el motor antes de dejar la posición de

operación (detrás de las manijas). Espere hasta que los dientes se

detengan completamente antes de desatascarlos, realizar ajustes

o inspecciones.

13. Nunca encienda el motor en espacios cerrados o en una zona

con poca ventilación. El escape del motor contiene monóxido de

carbono, un gas inodoro y letal.

14. El silenciador y el motor se calientan y pueden causar

quemaduras. No los toque.

15. Tenga cuidado cuando cultive cerca de cercos, servicios

16. No sobrecargue la capacidad de la máquina intentando cultivar

suelo demasiado profundo a una velocidad demasiado rápida.

Mantenimiento y almacenamiento

1. Mantenga la máquina y accesorios en condiciones de uso seguro.

2. Deje que la máquina se enfríe por lo menos cinco minutos antes

de guardarla. Nunca altere los dispositivos de seguridad. Controle

periódicamente que funcionen correctamente.

3. Controle a intervalos frecuentes que los pernos y tornillos estén

bien apretados para mantener la máquina en condiciones de uso

seguro. Además, haga inspecciones visuales de la máquina para

verificar si sufrió algún daño.

4. Antes de limpiar, reparar o inspeccionar la máquina, detenga el

motor y compruebe que los dientes y todas las partes móviles

se hayan detenido. Desconecte el cable de la bujía y póngalo

haciendo masa contra el motor para evitar que se encienda

accidentalmente.

5. No cambie la configuración del regulador del motor ni acelere

demasiado el motor. El regulador del motor controla la velocidad

máxima de funcionamiento seguro del motor.

6. Mantenga o reemplace las etiquetas de seguridad e instrucciones

según sea necesario.

7. Consulte este manual para lograr carga, descarga, transporte y

almacenamiento seguros de esta máquina.

8. Siempre consulte el manual del operador para ver detalles

importantes si la máquina se almacenará durante un período

prolongado de tiempo.

• Cuando sea conveniente, retire el equipo a gasolina

del camión o remolque y llénelo sobre el suelo. Si esto

no es posible, llene el equipo en un remolque con un

recipiente portátil, en vez de hacerlo desde una boquilla

dispensadora de gasolina.

• En todo momento mantenga la boquilla en contacto con

el borde del depósito de combustible o con la abertura del

recipiente, hasta terminar la carga. No utilice un dispositivo

de apertura/cierre de la boquilla.

• Apague todos los cigarrillos, cigarros, pipas y otras fuentes

de combustión.

• Nunca cargue combustible en la máquina en un espacio

cerrado.

• Nunca saque la tapa del combustible ni agregue

combustible mientras el motor está caliente o en marcha.

Deje que el motor se enfríe por lo menos dos minutos

antes de volver a cargar combustible.

• Nunca llene en exceso el depósito de combustible. Llene el

depósito no más de ½ pulgada por debajo de la base del

cuello de llenado para dejar espacio para la expansión del

combustible.

• Vuelva a colocar el tapón de combustible y ajústelo bien.

• Limpie el combustible que se haya derramado sobre el

motor y el equipo. Traslade la unidad a otra zona. Espere 5

minutos antes de encender el motor.

• Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, mantenga la máquina

limpia de pasto, hojas y residuos acumulados. Limpie

los derrames de aceite o combustible y saque todos los

residuos embebidos en combustible.

• Nunca guarde la máquina o el recipiente de combustible

en un espacio cerrado donde haya fuego, chispas o

luz piloto, como por ejemplo de calentadores de agua,

calefactores de ambientes, hornos, secadores de ropa u

otros aparatos a gas.

Funcionamiento

1. No coloque las manos ni los pies cerca de las piezas giratorias. El

contacto con las piezas giratorias puede amputar manos y pies.

2. No utilice la máquina bajo la influencia de alcohol o drogas.

3. Nunca opere esta máquina si no cuenta con buena visibilidad o

luz. Siempre esté seguro de dónde apoya los pies y mantenga con

firmeza las manos en las manijas.

4. Mantenga a los observadores lejos de la máquina cuando está

funcionando. Detenga la máquina si alguien se acerca.

5. Tenga cuidado cuando cultive en suelos duros. Los dietes pueden

Si esto sucede, suelte las barras de la manija y no contenga la

máquina.

6. Tenga mucho cuidado si cruza o usa la máquina en superficies con

grava. Manténgase atento al tráfico y los riesgos ocultos. No lleve

pasajeros.

7. Nunca use la máquina a altas velocidades de transporte sobre

superficies duras o resbalosas.

9. Mire hacia abajo y hacia atrás y sea muy cuidadoso marcha atrás o

vida útil media de siete (7) años o 130 horas de funcionamiento.

Al finalizar la vida útil media haga inspeccionar anualmente esta

unidad por un distribuidor de servicio autorizado para cerciorarse

de que todos los sistemas mecánicos y de seguridad funcionan

correctamente y no tienen excesivo desgaste. Si no lo hace, puede

ocasionar accidentes, lesiones o la muerte.

Amortiguador de chispas

con la estaca justo encima o al nivel de la superficie del terreno.

Ajustes

Ruedas

La cultivadora se entrega con las ruedas ajustadas de modo que la

máquina esté nivelada. Es necesario ajustar las ruedas para adaptarse a

sus necesidades de labranza antes de hacer funcionar la máquina. Este

ajuste se realiza retirando el pasador de horquilla del retén de las ruedas

y levantando las ruedas a la altura deseada. Consulte la Figura 3-7.

Ajuste de los cables del embrague

Antes de operar la cultivadora se debe chequear el ajuste de los cables

de transmisión directa y marcha atrás.

1. Desconéctelos y haga masa con el cable de la bujía contra

el motor.

2. Ajuste el cable del embrague de marcha adelante o de marcha

atrás aflojando la tuerca hexagonal. Consulte la Figura 3-8.

3. Gire la parte del collarín del cable una o dos vueltas para aumentar

o aflojar la tensión sobre el cable. Consulte la Figura 3-8.

4. Vuelva a ajustar la tuerca de seguridad contra el collarín del cable.

5. Con la manija de enganche de dientes hacia adelante en posición

neutral -liberada -, tire de la cuerda del arrancador varias veces.

Los dientes no deben girar.

6. Si giran hacia adelante, ajuste el cable de enganche de dientes

pasos previos de esta sección. Si los dientes giran hacia atrás,

ajuste el cable de enganche de los dientes marcha atrás para

7. Controle nuevamente para verificar que la tensión en los cables

sea adecuada.

8. Después de la labranza, si los dientes dejan de moverse, reajuste

los cables.

Configuración

Llenado de gasolina y aceite

Cargue el motor con gasolina y aceite como se indica en el Manual

de operación del motor que se entrega con la cultivadora. Lea las

instrucciones con atención.

¡ADVERTENCIA! Tenga mucho cuidado al trabajar con

gasolina. La gasolina es sumamente inflamable y sus

vapores pueden causar explosiones. Nunca agregue

combustible a la máquina en espacios cerrados ni mientras

el motor está caliente o funcionando.

Palanca de enganche de los dientes marcha directa

La palanca de control de los dientes marcha directa está ubicada debajo

de la parte superior de la manija. Para engranar la transmisión de los

dientes se aprieta la palanca contra la manija. Suelte la palanca para

detener los dientes.

La palanca de control de los dientes marcha atrás está ubicada encima

de la parte superior de la manija. Para enganchar los dientes en marcha

atrás se jala de la palanca hacia el operador. Suelte la palanca para

detener los dientes.

NOTA: Nunca enganche las transmisiones de los dientes marcha directa

y marcha atrás al mismo tiempo. Si engancha ambas transmisiones al

mismo tiempo puede dañar las correas de transmisión y hacer que el

motor se cale.

Calibre de profundidad

El calibre de profundidad controla la profundidad de la labranza.

Los dientes y las tapas de extremo

Los dientes de labranza y las tapas de extremo se utilizan para cultivar,

abrir surcos y preparar el jardín para sembrar. Las tapas de los extremos

se usan para evitar que la tierra labrada se desborde hacia áreas donde

no es deseada.

Perilla de la manija

La altura de las manijas se puede ajustar. Afloje la perilla para cambiar la

posición. Ajuste los herrajes al terminar.

Arranque y detención del motor

¡ADVERTENCIA! Lea, comprenda y siga todas las

instrucciones y advertencias que se encuentran en la

máquina y en este manual antes de operarla.

¡ADVERTENCIA! Asegúrese de que nadie se encuentre

delante de la cultivadora mientras el motor está

funcionando o en proceso de arranque.

Conecte el cable de la bujía a la bujía. Asegúrese de que el capuchón

metálico sobre el extremo del bujía esté bien sujeto sobre la punta

metálica de la bujía y consulte el Manual de operación del motor para

instrucciones sobre cómo arrancar y detener el motor.

NOTA: Desconecte el cable de la bujía y haga masa para evitar que se

encienda accidentalmente la cultivadora al dejarla sin vigilancia.

Ajuste de la profundidad

Retén hacia adelante

Coloque el retén de las ruedas de manera que las ruedas estén hacia

delante (en ángulo hacia los dientes) para labranza superficial, cultivo y

transporte. Consulte la Figura 4-1.

atrás (en ángulo hacia la estaca de profundidad) para labranza profunda

controla la profundidad y la velocidad a la cual funciona la máquina.

Retire el pasador de horquilla para subir o bajar la estaca de profundidad.

Presión de las manijas

Se puede obtener un mayor control de la profundidad de la labranza y

de la velocidad de recorrido variando la presión sobre las manijas.

La presión hacia abajo sobre las manijas reduce la profundidad de

trabajo y aumenta la velocidad de avance. La presión hacia arriba sobre

las manijas aumenta la profundidad de trabajo y reduce la velocidad de

avance.

El tipo de suelo y las condiciones de trabajo determinan el ajuste real del

calibre de profundidad y la presión sobre las manijas necesaria.

Transporte y almacenamiento de la cultivadora

Para transportar y almacenar la cultivadora mueva el acelerador a la

posición Parado. Gire la estaca de profundidad desde el terreno hacia

arriba entre las ruedas. Consulte la Figura 4-3.

Uso de la cultivadora

La cultivadora es una máquina diseñada para preparar, labrar, abrir

surcos y abonar los lechos de siembra.

Procedimiento para labrar

Al labrar, deje aproximadamente 8 pulgadas de suelo sin labrar entre el

primer y el segundo surco labrado, luego haga el tercer surco entre los

dos primeros; consulte la Figura 4-4.

En algunos suelos, se puede obtener la profundidad deseada la primera

vez que se trabaja en el jardín. En otros suelos, la profundidad deseada se

obtiene pasando dos o tres veces sobre el terreno del jardín. Las pasadas

se deben realizar en forma alternada a lo largo y a lo ancho del jardín. Las

rocas que se destapen se deben retirar del área del jardín.

Procedimientos para cultivar

Es deseable una profundidad de dos a tres pulgadas para cultivar l

terreno. El ancho de labranza se puede reducir a 13 pulgadas extrayendo

los dientes externos completamente de la cultivadora. Consulte la

sección Mantenimiento y Ajustes donde encontrará instrucciones para

retirar los dientes.

Cuando trace las hileras de plantación, asegúrese de dejar un ancho

suficiente para poder cultivar entre las hileras. Cuando cultive maíz o

algún cultivo similar, el control de las hileras de la plantación permitirá el

cultivo transversal y prácticamente eliminará la azada manual. Consulte

la Figura 4-5.

Otras aplicaciones

La cultivadora tiene muchas aplicaciones además de la de labranza

y cultivo de un jardín. Una de ellas es la preparación del área para la

siembra. La cultivadora preparará un lecho de siembra profundo que

no tendrá puntos duros sin labrar, permitiendo una mejor afirmación

del césped para el crecimiento. La cultivadora es muy útil para aflojar

suelos duros y prepararlos para su excavación mediante una pala. No es

necesario realizar ninguna tediosa labor manual. La cultivadora se puede

usar para mezclar abono en acopio o para mezclarla con el suelo del

jardín. Esto se debe realizar después de haber roturado el terreno en la

totalidad de la profundidad de trabajo. El abono se debe trabajar a una

profundidad de seis o siete pulgadas. Esto se puede realizar trabajando

a lo largo del jardín y luego haciendo varias pasadas separadas

transversales. El agregado de materia orgánica descompuesta aumenta

significativamente la fertilidad del jardín. Para una adecuada acción de

descomposición se debe aplicar fertilizante y se debe trabajar con los

materiales de abono. La mezcla de hojas rotas y paja con varias pulgadas

de suelo permite una adecuada aireación del sistema de raíces de las

plantas y retarda el crecimiento de malezas.

¡ADVERTENCIA! Desconecte el cable de la bujía y

póngalo haciendo masa contra el motor antes de realizar

cualquier reparación.

Dientes

Limpie el lado inferior del protector de dientes después de cada uso. La

suciedad se desprende de los dientes con más facilidad si se los enjuaga

inmediatamente en lugar de dejar que se seque. Siempre seque la

cultivadora con toalla después de lavarla y cubra con una capa liviana de

aceite o silicona para evitar que se oxide o dañe por acción del agua.

NOTA: Nunca use una lavadora de presión para limpiar la cultivadora. El

agua puede penetrar en las áreas ajustadas de la cultivadora y del cárter

de la cadena y causar daños graves a la máquina.

Tapas de extremo

Las tapas de extremo, que se usas para evitar que la tierra labrada se

desborde sobre áreas donde no es deseada, se retiran desde el eje. Retire

el clip de horquilla y el pasador de horquilla que sujetan cada tapa de

extremo y deslice las tapas hasta sacarlas del eje. Consulte la Figura 5-1.

Dientes

Con los dientes externos instalados, el ancho de trabajo de la máquina

es de 24”. Este ancho se puede ampliar a 26” retirando el pasador de

horquilla y el pasador de chaveta, deslizando cada diente exterior hacia

afuera desde el centro de la unidad y volviendo a ajustar los pasadores

en los orificios suministrados. Consulte la Figura 5-2.

Lubricación

Puntos de pivote

Extraiga la cubierta de la correa y lubrique todos los puntos de pivote

y el varillaje por lo menos una vez por temporada con aceite ligero.

Mantenga las correas sin lubricación.

Ejes de los dientes

Retire los conjuntos de los dientes y lubrique los ejes de los mismos por

lo menos una vez por temporada.

Eje de las ruedas

Retire los juegos de ruedas y lubrique los semiejes por lo menos una vez

por temporada.

Cadena de transmisión

La cadena de transmisión se entrega previamente lubricada y sellada

en fábrica.

Almacenamiento fuera de temporada

Si la cultivadora no se va a usar durante un período prolongado,

prepárela para el almacenamiento de la siguiente forma:

1. Limpie la cultivadora y el motor.

2. Realice la lubricación de rutina de la cultivadora y verifique si hay

herrajes o piezas sueltas.

3. Cambie el aceite y filtro de motor según las instrucciones

suministradas en el manual del motor entregado con este manual.

¡ADVERTENCIA! Nunca guarde la cultivadora con

combustible en el depósito en un lugar cerrado o con

escasa ventilación, donde los gases del combustible

pueden generar fuego, chispas o encender una luz piloto

como la de hornos, calentadores de agua, secadores

de ropa, etc.

4. Si guarda la cultivadora durante 30 días o más:

a. Para evitar que se formen depósitos de goma dentro

del carburador del motor y posibles desperfectos en

el motor, el sistema de combustible debe ser vaciado

completamente, o se debe tratar la gasolina con un

estabilizador para evitar el deterioro.

¡ADVERTENCIA! El combustible que queda en el

depósito se deteriora y causa graves problemas de

arranque.

b. Uso de un estabilizador de combustible como STA-BIL®

para almacenamiento entre 30 y 90 días:

• Lea las instrucciones y recomendaciones del

fabricante del producto.

• Agregue a la gasolina limpia y fresca la cantidad

correcta de estabilizador según la capacidad

(aproximadamente 3 galones) del sistema de

combustible.

• Llene el depósito de combustible con combustible

tratado y haga funcionar el motor 2-3 minutos para

estabilizar el combustible dentro del carburador.

c. Vaciado del sistema de combustible para almacenamiento

de más de 90 días:

• Antes de guardar la cultivadora, observe el

consumo de combustible a los efectos de hacer

funcionar el tractor hasta que el depósito esté

vacío.

• Haga funcionar el motor hasta que comience a

detenerse. Use el cebador para mantener el motor

en funcionamiento hasta que se haya agotado todo

el combustible del carburador.

• Drene el combustible del recipiente del carburador,

consultando el manual del motor.

5. Almacene la cultivadora en un área limpia y seca.

6. Nunca almacene la cultivadora con combustible en el depósito

en un área cerrada donde las emanaciones de la gasolina pueden

alcanzar una llama expuesta o chispas, o donde hubiere fuentes

de encendido (calefactores, calentadores de agua, hornos, etc.).

Cambio de correa

El diseño de la cultivadora incluye una correa de material especial (Kevlar

Tracción) que le proporciona mayor duración y mejor rendimiento. No se

la debe cambiar por una correa cualquiera. Pida todas las correas a través

de su distribuidor de servicio autorizado.

1. Desconéctelos y haga masa con el cable de la bujía contra

el motor.

2. Retire la cubierta de la correa desde el lado izquierdo de la

cultivadora retirando los dos tornillos autorroscantes y la tuerca

hexagonal de detención y la arandela. Consulte la Figura 5-1.

3. Retire la cubierta de la polea de transmisión y luego de alrededor

4. Para volver a armar con la nueva correa, siga las instrucciones en

orden inverso. Asegúrese de colocar el lado más ancho de la correa

contra la transmisión y la polea loca mientras el lado más delgado

pasa por arriba de la polea del motor. Consulte la Figura 5-2.

8. La correa de la polea loca de marcha hacia adelante no despejará

los guardacorreas cerca de la polea del motor. Debe retirar el

soporte de polea loca de marcha atrás para permitir que la

correa se deslice hacia afuera de la polea del motor. Retire los

dos tornillos de fijación y mueva el soporte hacia la polea de

transmisión. Guarde los tornillos para volver a armar. Consulte

la Figura 5-5.

9. Retire la correa de la polea de loca de marcha atrás y luego de

alrededor de la polea de transmisión. Consulte la Figura 5-6.

10. Para volver a armar con la nueva correa, siga las instrucciones

en orden inverso. Asegúrese de colocar el lado más ancho de la

correa lejos de las poleas del motor y de transmisión.

NOTA: Al volver a armar, asegúrese de que la guardacorreas de

la polea loca quede tal como se ilustra en la Figura 5-4. Observe

la muesca en la parte inferior del guardacorreas y la alineación

cuando vuelva a armar con la correa nueva.

GARANTÍA LIMITADA DEL FABRICANTE PARA LOS PRODUCTOS PARA JARDÍN MODEL XP

Garantía limitada

La garantía limitada que se extiende en el presente documento es otorgada por

Troy-Bilt LLC en relación a los nuevos productos para jardín modelo XP, que incluyen,

a título de ejemplo, cortadoras/trituradoras, máquinas rompetroncos, bordeadoras

y orilladoras sobre ruedas, y cultivadoras (en adelante “Productos para Jardín XP”)

adquiridos y utilizados en los Estados Unidos y/o Canadá al Comprador inicial (como

se define en este documento). La presente garantía limitada no cubre los Sistemas

de control de emisiones y no constituye una Declaración de garantía del control de

las emisiones federal según lo definido por las leyes federales de los Estados Unidos.

Consulte la Declaración de garantía de control de emisiones federal que se incluye en

el manual del operador para conocer las garantías que cubren los Sistemas de control

de emisiones.

Alcance de la Garantía limitada

Troy-Bilt LLC ofrece la siguiente garantía limitada al Comprador Inicial para uso

residencial u otro tipo de uso no comercial: excepto por las Exclusiones (que se

definen en este documento), durante el Período de Garantía (como se define en este

documento), este Producto para Jardín XP estará libre de defectos de fabricación

(que incluyen mano de obra y materiales). El “Comprador inicial” es la primera

persona en adquirir este Producto para Jardín XP nuevo de un representante,

distribuidor y/o minorista Troy-Bilt autorizado de los mencionados productos. La

garantía limitada es intransferible. Excepto que se disponga lo contrario en el

presente documento, el período de la garantía limitada para este Producto para

Jardín XP nuevo adquirido por el Comprador inicial es de tres (3) años a partir

de la fecha de compra, como se indica en el comprobante de venta original

correspondiente al producto (“Período de Garantía”).

Defectos de mano de obra o de materiales

Excepto por las Exclusiones, se garantiza que este Peoducto para Jardín XP estará

libre de defectos de fabricación en la mano de obra o los materiales durante el

Período de Garantía. Durante el Período de Garantía, Troy-Bilt LLC reparará o

reemplazará, a su juicio, cualquier pieza original cubierta por la presente garantía

limitada y que se determine que presenta algún defecto en la mano de obra o los

materiales.

Para tener derecho a la garantía limitada, este Producto para Jardín XP:

1. Debe haber sido adquirido de un minorista autorizado.

2. Debe haber sido adquirido por el Comprador Inicial dentro de los Estados Unidos.

3. Debe haber sido usado únicamente para fines residenciales.

4. Debe haber sido usado de manera coherente con el uso normal y adecuado para

el que fue diseñado este Producto para Jardín XP. Este Producto para Jardín XP no ha

sido diseñado para arrendamiento ni para uso comercial.

¿Quién puede realizar reparaciones conforme a la presente garantía?

A fin de reunir los requisitos para la garantía limitada según lo establecido en el

presente documento, las reparaciones realizadas conforme a esta garantía debe

llevarlas a cabo un proveedor de reparaciones y mantenimiento Troy-Bilt autorizado.

otorgada por Troy-Bilt LLC y es la única garantía de producto que otorga Troy-Bilt LLC

para este Producto para Jardín XP. DEBERÁ PRESENTAR COPIA DEL COMPROBANTE

DE VENTA PARA OBTENER EL SERVICIO DE LA GARANTÍA

Lo que no cubre la presente garantía limitada.

La presente garantía limitada no cubre lo siguiente (las “Exclusiones”):

1. Los productos adquiridos fuera del territorio de los Estados Unidos.

2. Sistemas de control de emisiones. Dichos artículos están sujetos a una garantía

por separado en virtud de la declaración de la garantía de control de emisiones

federal vigente. Consulte la declaración de la garantía de control de emisiones

federal vigente para conocer los términos y las condiciones relativos a los sistemas de

control de emisiones.

3. Los daños producidos por la falta de mantenimiento y/o un mantenimiento

inadecuado, según se describe en el manual del operador.

4. El desgaste normal resultante del uso del producto.

5. Los artículos desechables, consumibles o de mantenimiento de rutina que

requieren reparaciones o servicio como parte del mantenimiento normal, salvo que

tales artículos presenten defectos que ocasionen fallas o desgaste prematuro dentro

de los primeros treinta (30) días de adquirido. Los elementos con desgaste normal

incluyen a título de ejemplo, neumáticos, filtros de aceite, filtros de aire, bujías,

correas, filtros, fusibles, baterías, correas, cuchillas, adaptadores de cuchillas, zapatas

antideslizantes para Productos para Jardín XP, ruedas de fricción, placas de raspado,

gomas helicoidales, y otros artículos consumibles

6. El uso del pr

oducto que no sea coherente con el uso para el que fue diseñado

según se describe en las instrucciones de funcionamiento, que incluye, a título de

ejemplo, el uso abusivo, inadecuado y/o negligente del Producto para Jardín XP o

cualquier uso que no sea coherente con y/o no cumpla con las instrucciones que se

incluyen en el Manual del Operador

7. Cualquier Producto para Jardín XP que haya sido alterado o modificado de manera

que no sea coherente con el diseño original del producto o de una manera no

aprobada por Troy-Bilt LLC.

8. Las reparaciones en concepto de pintura o los reemplazos por defectos en la

pintura (que incluyen los materiales y la aplicación) están cubiertos por un período

de tres (3) meses.

9. Las llantas de ruedas están cubiertas por un período de tres (3) meses por defectos

de fabricación.

La presente garantía no cubre y Troy-Bilt LLC rechaza todo tipo de

responsabilidad respecto de:

1. Pérdida de tiempo o pérdida de uso del Producto para Jardín XP.

2. Costos de transporte y otros gastos incurridos en relación con el transporte

del Producto para Jardín XP desde y hacia el proveedor de reparaciones y

mantenimiento Troy-Bilt autorizado.

3. Cualquier pérdida o daño a otros equipos o elementos personales.

4. Daños ocasionados por mantenimiento inadecuado o el uso de combustible,

aceite o lubricantes que no fueran los especificados, según lo aprobado en el manual

del operador.

5. Daño resultante de la instalación o el uso de cualquier accesorio o pieza no

aprobados por Troy-Bilt para utilizar con el Producto para Jardín XP

Limitaciones:

1. NO EXISTEN GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS, INCLUÍDAS, A TÍTULO DE EJEMPLO,

LAS GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS DE COMERCIABILIDAD O ADECUACIÓN PARA UN

PROPÓSITO EN PARTICULAR. NO SERÁ DE APLICACIÓN NINGUNA GARANTÍA AL

CABO DEL PERÍODO DE GARANTÍA CORRESPONDIENTE SEGÚN LO ESTABLECIDO

PRECEDENTEMENTE RESPECTO DE LAS PIEZAS SEGÚN SU IDENTIFICA

CIÓN.

NINGUNA OTRA GARANTÍA EXPRESA, YA SEA ORAL O ESCRITA, EXCEPTO LA

MENCIONADA ANTERIORMENTE, OTORGADA POR PERSONAS FÍSICAS O JURÍDICAS,

INCLUIDOS LOS DISTRIBUIDORES O MINORISTAS RESPECTO DE CUALQUIER

PRODUCTO, VINCULARÁ A TROY-BILT LLC. DURANTE EL PERÍODO DE GARANTÍA, EL

ÚNICO RECURSO SERÁ LA REPARACIÓN O EL REEMPLAZO DE LA PIEZA DEFECTUOSA,

SEGÚN LO ESTABLECIDO PRECEDENTEMENTE. (ALGUNOS ESTADOS NO PERMITEN

LA LIMITACIÓN DE LA DURACIÓN DE LAS GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS, POR LO QUE LA

LIMITACIÓN ANTES MENCIONADA PUEDE NO APLICARSE EN SU CASO).

2. LAS DISPOSICIONES ESTABLECIDAS EN EL PRESENTE DOCUMENTO PREVÉN EL

ÚNICO Y EXCLUSIVO RECURSO QUE SURGE DE LA VENTA. TROY-BILT NO SE HARÁ

RESPONSABLE DE LAS PÉRDIDAS O LOS DAÑOS INDIRECTOS O EMERGENTES,

INCLUIDOS A TÍTULO DE EJEMPLO, GASTOS DE TRANSPORTE O RELACIONADOS,

O GASTOS DE ARRENDAMIENTO PARA REEMPLAZAR TRANSITORIAMENTE UN

PRODUCTO CUBIERTO POR LA GARANTÍA. (ALGUNOS ESTADOS NO PERMITEN LA

EXCLUSIÓN O LIMITACIÓN DE LOS DAÑOS Y PERJUICIOS INDIRECTOS O EMERGENTES,

POR LO QUE LAS EXCLUSIONES O LIMITACIONES ANTES MENCIONADAS PUEDEN NO

APLICARSE EN SU CASO).

3. En ningún caso se obtendrá una compensación mayor al monto del precio de

compra del producto vendido. La alteración de las características de seguridad del

producto anulará esta garantía limitada. Usted asume el riesgo y la responsabilidad

por las pérdidas, daños o lesiones que sufran usted y sus bienes y/u otras personas y

sus bienes como consecuencia del uso o mal uso o de la imposibilidad de usar este

producto.

Relación de la ley estadual con esta garantía:

Esta garantía limitada le otorga derechos legales específicos, pero usted podría gozar

de otros derechos que varían de acuerdo a su lugar de residencia.
