OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use
only. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only.
Standard hot air stylers are designed to operate
at 110 to 125 volts AC.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this
plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety
feature.
NOTE: Do not use this styling appliance on
hair extensions.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY TIME
YOU USE APPLIANCE
This appliance is equipped with an Appliance
Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety
feature that renders it inoperable under some
abnormal conditions, such as immersion in
water. To make sure the ALCI is functioning
properly, perform the following test. The
purpose of this test is to allow you to make sure
the water sensing system (ALCI) is working.
1. Plug in the appliance
and press test button on
plug (see diagram).
2. The appliance will stop
working. There will be an
audible click and reset

button will pop out. This indicates the ALCI is
functioning properly.
3. To reset ALCI with a reset button, unplug unit.
Then push reset button in and reinsert plug into
outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return
appliance to service center.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs, this
unit be brought to a service center. Do not try
to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the
unit to confirm ALCI is operational.
Should the appliance go off and the reset
button pop up during use, this could indicate a
malfunction in the unit. Remove plug from outlet
and allow the appliance to cool. Reinsert plug
into outlet.
The appliance should then function normally.
If not, return it to an authorized Conair Service
Center for evaluation and repair.
IONIC TECHNOLOGY
Many aspects of modern living, including
air-conditioning, contact with man-made fibers
and air pollution contribute to a buildup of static
electricity in the hair. Even brushing and towel-
drying the hair can increase these levels, causing
the surface of the cuticle to become rough.
Consequently, hair may have a dull appearance.
Also, high levels of static charge cause hair to
become flyaway and difficult to style.
The ion generator produces a stream of nega-
tive ions that act to neutralize the static charge,
smoothing the scales on the cuticle for shiny,
smooth and manageable hair, so you can achieve
your desired style easily.
THE IONIZING FUNCTION
Generates negative ions to:
• neutralize the generally positive charge on
flyaway, frizzy hair
• eliminate static electricity
• contribute to shine
NOTE: The unit may produce a clicking
sound at times, which is normal for a
high output ion generator.
GETTING STARTED
After shampooing your hair, towel-dry and use
the dryer handle without the attachment to
remove excess moisture from hair. Use a large-
toothed comb to carefully untangle hair. Always
start untangling your wet hair at the tips, then
gradually work your way up to the scalp. Gentle
untangling prevents split ends from forming.
You may now finish drying and styling your
hair using your hot air styler. Make sure your
attachment is locked into place. Plug styler into
outlet. Slide switch to turn appliance on and off.

TO STYLE HAIR
1. After detangling hair, section damp hair into
4 to 8 equal parts, depending on hair type.
2. Select heat setting based on hair type and
desired effect.
3. Place the paddle brush attachment into
the hair, close to the roots, and brush through
the section.
4. For added root lift and volume: Place the
brush underneath the hair section close to the
roots with the bristles pointing upward. Use yo
other hand to pull the hair section taut against
the silicone paddle until the bristles penetrate
through the hair.

CLEANING &
MAINTENANCE
• Unplug the appliance and let cool completely
before cleaning it.
• Use a damp cloth to clean carefully. Make
sure the appliance is completely dry before
using again.
• The rear filter should be cleaned on a regular
basis using a soft brush to help prevent buildup
and overheating. This will also prolong the
motor life.
USER MAINTENANCE
Your hot air styler is virtually maintenance free.
No lubrication is needed. For proper operating
performance, the hot air styler must be kept
clean. When cleaning is needed, unplug the
cord, allow to cool and clean dust and lint
from air intake openings with a small brush
or the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner.
The outer surface of the hot air styler should
be wiped clean with a cloth only. Blocked or
clogged air intake vents will cause the hot
air styler to overheat. If overheating occurs,
an automatic safety device will shut the hot
air styler or the heat off to prevent damage or
personal injury. If the unit or the heat turns off,
unplug the cord and allow the hot air styler to
cool for 10 to 15 minutes before restarting.
Make sure the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled,
twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the cord
tightly around the hot air styler. Damage will
occur at the high flex point of entry into the hot
air styler, causing it to rupture and short circuit.
Inspect the cord frequently for damage. Stop
use immediately if damage is visible or unit
stops or operates intermittently.
If the cord or hot air styler is damaged or does
not operate properly, return it for repair to an
authorized Conair service representative only.
No repairs should be attempted by the
consumer.
STORAGE – IMPORTANT
When not in use, your hot air styler should be
disconnected, allowed to cool and stored in a
safe, dry location, out of reach of children. Do
not wrap line cord around hot air styler. Allow
the cord to hang or lie loose and straight at the
point of entry into the hot air styler.

Para uso doméstico solamente. Úselo solamente
con corriente alterna (60 Hz). Este aparato ha

Este aparato cuenta con un interruptor de
control de potencia (ALCI, por sus siglas en
inglés) que apaga el aparato inmediatamente
si este cae al agua. Haga la prueba siguiente
antes de cada uso para comprobar que el
interruptor de control de potencia y el sistema
de detección de agua funcionan correctamente:
1. Enchufe el aparato
y apriete el botón de
prueba (véase el gráfico).
2. El aparato dejará
de funcionar. Se oirá
un “clic” y el botón de
reinicio saltará; esto
significa que el interruptor de control de
potencia está funcionando correctamente.
3. Para reajustarlo, desenchufe el aparato.
Luego, oprima el botón de reinicio y vuelva a
conectar el cable.

5. Si el aparato se cae al agua, es muy

TECNOLOGÍA IÓNICA
Muchos factores ambientales modernos, incluso

la contaminación, electrizan el cabello. Incluso

eliminar el exceso de humedad del cabello. Use
un peine de dientes anchos para desenredar el
cabello con cuidado. Siempre empiece a peinar
el cabello mojado en las puntas y desenrédelo
subiendo poco a poco hacia la raíz. Peinar el
cabello suavemente evita las puntas abiertas.
Después del desenredado, use el cepillo de
aire para secar y peinar el cabello. Compruebe

encendido/apagado hacia “ON” para encender

FUNDAMENTOS DEL PEINADO
1. Después de desenredar el cabello, divídalo
en 4 a 8 secciones, dependiendo del tipo de
cabello.
2. Elija el ajuste de calor deseado, dependiendo
de su tipo de cabello y del efecto deseado.
3. Coloque el cepillo debajo de una sección
de cabello, cerca del cuero cabelludo, y bájelo

LIMPIEZA Y
MANTENIMIENTO
• Desenchufe el aparato y permita que se enfríe
completamente antes de limpiarlo.
• Limpie la carcasa del aparato
cuidadosamente con un paño ligeramente
humedecido. Permita que se seque

• Limpie el filtro regularmente, usando un

ALMACENAJE – IMPORTANTE

cable cuelgue, o que la junta que lo conecta al

Conair reparará o remplazará (a su opción)
este producto sin cargo por un período de
36 meses a partir de la fecha de compra si

Para obtener servicio técnico bajo esta garantía,
devuelva el producto defectuoso al Centro de
Servicio indicado a continuación, junto con su
recibo de compra. Los residentes de California
solo necesitan dar una prueba de compra y
deben llamar al 1-800-3-CONAIR para recibir
instrucciones de envío. En ausencia del recibo
de compra, el período de garantía será de 36
años a partir de la fecha de fabricación.
