openings blocked or while on a soft surface,
such as a bed or couch, where the air open-
ings may be blocked. Keep the air openings
free of lint, hair, and the like.
11. Always attach plug to appliance first, then
to outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to
“OFF”; remove plug from outlet.
12. Avoid skin contact with moving blades.
13. Check for tangles or kinks in the cord. If the
cord does become tangled during use, turn unit
off and straighten cord before operating.

INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use.
Use on Alternating Current (120V AC 60Hz)
only. This appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature, this plug will fit in the outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
Your new Conair
®
Haircut Kit has everything
you need to achieve professional haircuts at
home, and comes with a trimmer attachment
for facial trimming and detailing. Its powerful,
high torque motor clipper, with stainless steel
blades for long-lasting cutting precision,
features a new 5-position adjustamatic taper
control. Whatever hair length you set the lever
for, the clipper will automatically cut all hair in
that section at the desired length. Also included
are 9 attachment combs for different hair
lengths (including fade and ear combs), barber
scissors, a barber comb with straight teeth, a
full-length barber cape, a storage pouch for
easy storage, and a styling clip to assist you
in cutting longer hair styles. It also comes with
lubricating oil, a cleaning brush and a blade
guard for easy maintenance and protection of
the clipper blades.
THE CONAIR GUIDE
TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME
Before you start:
1. Inspect your clipper. Make sure it’s free of hair
and dirt, properly oiled, and running smoothly.
2. Place cape around the neck of the person
getting a haircut.
3. Seat the person so that his or her head is at
your eye level. This gives you greater visibility
and control.
4. First, comb hair until it’s tangle free. Then
hold clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re
ready to cut.
MEDIUM TO LONG CUT
To begin with, cut only a small amount of hair
until you become used to the length each
attachment leaves the hair. Try the longest
attachment comb and put the taper control in
the highest setting. If you want a shorter cut,
you can then use shorter combs.
• Short attachment comb (number 1) cuts
hair to 1/8".
• Medium-Short attachment comb (number 2)
cuts hair to 1/4".
• Medium-Long attachment comb (number 3)
cuts hair to 3/8".
• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts
hair to 1/2".
• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts
hair to 5/8".
• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts
hair to 3/4".
• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts
hair to 7/8".
• Ear attachment comb lightly tapers over the
ear making this part of the haircut easier.
• Fade attachment comb helps to eliminate
transitional lines by providing a more effec-
tive control surface between the scalp and
clipper. Because of its design, the fade comb
is comparable to having multiple size combs
built into one. Its sweeping curve design
allows you to manipulate the clipper with
a gentle rocking motion, while the smooth,
rounded surface allows the clipper to tra-
verse across the scalp in a very controlled
fashion.
Attach combs by hold-
ing them teeth up, then
snapping them onto the
bottom of the clipper
blade.
To remove comb attach-
ments, place index finger
and thumb as illustrated;
then pull out and up.
NOTE: Never push or shove the clipper
through the hair to make it move more
quickly. Professional experience shows that
the clipper works most efficiently when it
cuts through the hair at its own speed.
To begin cutting hair:
1. The hair should be
combed in its natural direc-
tion.
2. Using the largest attach-
ment comb, trim sides
from the bottom upward.
Hold clip per lightly against
the hair with teeth of the
attachment comb pointing
up ward, yet flat against the
head. Gradually lift the clip-
per upward and outward
through the hair, trimming
just a little at a time.
Repeat around sides and
back of head.
If you want hair to be even
shorter:
A) Apply more pressure to the head with the
attachment comb that is in place. This takes a
little practice, of course.
OR
B) Just switch to a shorter attachment comb.
Remember, it’s better to
leave too much hair than
too little. For longer hair on
top, use the barber comb
and lift hair on the top of
the head, cutting over the
comb, or hold the hair
between the fingers and cut to desired length.
Always working from the front to the back
of the head, gradually cut the hair shorter
by reducing the space between the comb or
fingers and the head. Comb often to check for
uneven strands, and to get rid of trimmed hair.
OUTLINING
Outlining requires no attachments. Comb hair
into the desired style. Position the clipper
between the sideburns and the ear (see
below), making sure the corner edge of the
blade is against the hairline. With the outline
of the hair as your guide, slowly move the clip-
per over, around and behind the ears. For the
back of the neck and the sideburns, hold the
clipper upside down (see above) and, holding
it against the skin at the length desired, move
the clipper downward.
STOP. COMB. CHECK.
For best results, do as the professionals do:
Comb hair often, and check clipping results as
you comb. This way you avoid uneven sides,
bangs, neckline, etc.
SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT
FLAT-TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.
Always cut from the back
of the neck to the crown,
using the longest comb set-
ting. Hold the comb attach-
ment flat against the head
and slowly move the clipper
up through the hair. Use the same technique
for the sides, cutting from the bottom to the
upper side of the head.
For the front to the crown, cut the hair against
the direction in which it grows, then even it up
with the sides.
For a flat-top, use the flat
comb, not the attachment
comb. Just cut hair on top
of the head over flat comb
(see left).
To taper hair down to the
neckline, use attachment comb #1. Comb hair
and check for uneven spots. Outline sideburns
and neck areas (see “Outlining”).
USER-MAINTENANCE

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS
DETACHABLE BLADE SET
Your clipper is equipped with 2 detachable
blades for routine maintenance, cleaning
and replacement. The larger blade is a stan-
dard hair clipper blade. The smaller blade is
a detailing blade that can also be used for
detailing necklines, sideburns, goatees and
short beard styles.
To remove the blade: The
front of the clipper should
be facing you, push up
under the blade with your
thumb and the blade will
pop out. (See Fig.1.)
To replace the blade: Make
sure the taper control is
set to the longest position,
and with the back of the
clipper facing you, insert
the bottom side (with
screws) of the blade into
the clipper and push down until it snaps into
place. (See Fig. 2.)

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE
Always apply oil to the blades before, during
and after use. This will ensure maximum cut-
ting performance. Hold clipper away from your
body in a downward position and apply oil on
the front and sides of the cutter blade. Wipe
excess oil off with a soft, dry cloth.
Any other servicing should be performed by
an authorized service representative. This
appliance has no user serviceable parts. The
product is for household use. Do not pull, twist,
or wrap line cord around appliance.
SPECIAL OIL
To maintain the blades of your Conair
®
clipper, oil them after every three or four hair-
cuts. Gently place a few drops of oil on the
teeth of the blades, using the special Conair
oil included with your set. Turn the clipper on
for a minute, then turn off. This light, natural
oil was formulated specifically for the Conair
®
high-speed clipper. Be cause it is the right oil
to use, it will not slow down the blades. Never
use any other product. There is no substitute
for Conair oil.
TO OPERATE DETAILING BLADE
1. Make sure unit is OFF. Remove clipper
blade by simply placing your thumb in front
of the blade and pushing back until the blade
detaches. Use cleaning brush to remove any
loose hair before attaching the trimmer blade.
Attach blade from the back (lining it up with
the small tab), and then push forward until the
blade snaps into place. Be sure that the taper
control is set to the lowest setting (switch
will be away from the blade) before replacing
the blade. To begin detailing, push the taper
control switch to its highest setting.
2. To clean the clipper, turn unit to OFF position.
Using your thumb, press upward against the
blade. This will make it easy to clean. Brush or
blow hair clippings from the cutter blade.
3. Again, snap in the blade set until you hear a
click. Be sure that the taper control is set to the
lowest setting (switch will be away from the
blade) before replacing the blade. This detail-
ing blade works well on sideburns and necks,
as well as goatees and short beard styles and
mustaches. For thick, full beards we recom-
mend using the clipper blade.
TAKING CARE OF YOUR CLIPPER
OILING THE BLADES
About once a month you should oil the blades
with the oil provided in your kit. It is best to do
this over a piece of newspaper. Turn the clipper
on and hold it so that the blades are pointed
downward. Spread one drop of oil across the
blades, then turn the clipper off and wipe away
the excess oil with a soft cloth.
Be careful not to use too much oil and don’t oil
your clipper more than necessary, as this could
damage the motor. (Never attempt to oil the
motor bearing, as it is permanently lubricated.)
Keep oil away from children.
BLADE CARE
This clipper has a detachable blade that
makes cleaning easy. Just push up on the top
of the blade and it will pop off easily. Remove
any loose hair with the cleaning brush pro-
vided and then place blade back in position. To
secure properly, line up the base of the blade
with the lower back of the clipper. Push down
into place until you hear a snap to know it’s
locked in place.
Because the blades are precision-made for a
very special use, they should always be han-
dled with care. Each time you finish using the
clipper, take the cleaning brush provided and
brush away any loose hair that has collected in
the blades. Then store the clipper in its case to
protect the blades until the next use.
Be especially careful when changing or adjust-
ing blades.
To promote the long life of the appliance,
use your detailing blade only for the purpose
intended by the manufacturer – to trim your
neckline and sideburns.

de una clavija polarizada (una pata es más
ancha que otra). Como medida de seguridad,
se podrá enchufar de una sola manera en la
toma de corriente polarizada. Si no entrara
en la toma de corriente, inviértala. Si aún no
entrara completamente, comuníquese con un
electricista. No intente ir en contra de esta
función de seguridad.
Su nuevo juego de peluquería Conair® tiene
todo lo que usted necesita para lograr cortes
de cabello profesionales en su casa, incluso
un aditamento para la barba. Incluye una
cortadora de cabello equipada con un potente
motor de alto torque, duraderas cuchillas
de acero inoxidable, y un botón ajuste de

CORTAR EL CABELLO EN CASA
Antes de empezar:
1. Revise el aparato. Cerciórese que está
limpio, que funciona correctamente y que las
cuchillas están lubricadas.
2. Coloque una toalla o una capa de corte
alrededor del cuello de la persona a quien le
va a cortar el cabello.
3. Siente a la persona de manera que su
cabeza esté al nivel de sus ojos, para mayor
visibilidad y control.
4. Desenrede el cabello. Sostenga la cortadora
cómodamente en su mano. Ya está listo/a
para empezar.
CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS
Empiece cortando poco cabello, hasta
acostumbrase a cada guía. Utilice la guía más
larga para empezar, poniendo el botón o la
palanca de ajuste de longitud de corte en la
posición más larga, y luego acorte el cabello
con guías más cortas si desea.
• Guía 1 – Corta el cabello a 1/8" (3 mm)
• Guía 2 – Corta el cabello a 1/4" (6 mm)
• Guía 3 – Corta el cabello a 3/8" (9.5 mm)
• Guía 4 – Corta el cabello a 1/2" (12.5 mm)
• Guía 5 – Corta el cabello a 5/8" (16 mm)
• Guía6 – Corta el cabello a 3/4" (19 mm)
• Guía 7 – Corta el cabello a 7/8" (22 mm)
• Guía para cortar el cabello alrededor de las
orejas – acorta gradualmente la longitud,
para un corte más fácil y resultados óptimos.
• Guía para desvanecer – proporciona una
superficie de control más eficaz entre el
cuero cabelludo y la cortadora, para ayudar
a eliminar las líneas de transición. La guía
para desvanecer reemplaza varias guías. Su
diseño curvo permite manejar la cortadora
con un movimiento de balanceo suave
mientras su superficie redondeada lisa

Para instalar la guía,

Para empezar el corte:
1. Peine el cabello en
dirección de su crecimiento
natural.
2. Empiece el recorte en un
lado de la cabeza, usando la
guía más larga, y cortando
desde abajo hasta arriba.
Sostenga la cortadora
ligeramente contra el
cabello, con los dientes de
la guía apuntando hacia
arriba y planos contra la
cabeza. Pase la cortadora
en el cabello gradualmente
hacia arriba y hacia fuera,
cortando poco cabello a
la vez.
Haga lo mismo en el otro
lado y atrás de la cabeza.
Si quiere un corte de cabello aún más corto:
A) Aplique más presión. (esto necesita un poco
de práctica).
O
B) Utilice una guía más corta.
Recuerde que es mejor
dejar el cabello demasiado
largo que demasiado corto.
Si quiere dejar el cabello
más largo encima de la
cabeza, utilice el peine de
corte o sus dedos para
alzar el cabello y córtelo a lo largo deseado.
Trabaje siempre desde adelante hacia atrás
de la cabeza y corte el cabello poco a poco,
reduciendo el espacio entre sus dedos (o el
peine) y la cabeza. Peine con frecuencia para
cerciorarse que no hay mechones disparejos
y eliminar los recortes.
CONTORNEO
El contorneo no requiere accesorios. Primero,
peine el cabello como desea. Coloque la
cortadora entre la patilla y la oreja (véase
el dibujo a continuación), posicionando la
esquina de la cuchilla contra el nacimiento
del pelo. Mueva la cortadora lentamente
alrededor y atrás de las orejas, siguiendo el
contorno del cabello. Para cortar el cabello
en la nuca y las sienes, sostenga la cortadora
al revés (véase el dibujo), colóquela contra la
piel al nivel deseado y deslícela hacia abajo.
DETÉNGASE. PEINE. VERIFIQUE.
Para lograr resultados óptimos, siga el
ejemplo de los profesionales: peine el cabello
con frecuencia para verificar los resultados.
Esto evitará tener lados, flequillos o líneas de
nuca disparejos.
PERFECTOS CORTES CON
CORONILLAS PLANAS,
CORTES MILITARES, ETC.
Siempre corte el cabello
desde la nuca hasta la
coronilla, usando la guía
más larga. Sostenga la guía
contra la cabeza y deslice la
cortadora lentamente hacia
arriba. Utilice la misma técnica para los lados,
cortando desde abajo hasta arriba.
En la frente, corte el cabello en dirección
contraria al crecimiento del pelo, y luego
empareje los lados.
Para conseguir una
coronilla plana, no utilice
guía sino un peine plano.
Corte el cabello por encima
del peine (véase el dibujo
más arriba).
Para desvanecer la línea de
nacimiento del pelo, utilice la guía más corta.
Peine el cabello para averiguar que el corte
está uniforme. Corte el cabello en la nuca y en
las patillas (ver la sección “Contorneo”).

MANTENIMIENTO DE SU
CORTADORA
CUCHILLAS EXTRAÍBLES
Su cortadora está equipada con 2 cuchillas
extraíbles, para facilitar el mantenimiento,
la limpieza, y el reemplazo de las mismas.
La cuchilla ancha es la cuchilla para cortar
el cabello. La cuchilla más estrecha es una
cuchilla de acabado que puede usarse para
acortar el pelo en la nuca, el nacimiento del
pelo y las patillas, así como para delinear la
perilla y cortar la barba.
Para retirar el juego de
cuchillas: Para sacar
el juego de cuchillas:
sostenga el aparato con
el interruptor adelante y
empuje las cuchillas hacia
arriba con el pulgar para
desencajarlas (Fig. 1).
Para instalar el juego de
cuchillas: asegúrese de
que el botón o la palanca
de ajuste de longitud de
corte esté en la posición
más larga. Sostenga la
cortadora con la parte
trasera adelante y enganche las cuchillas
en su lugar hasta que calcen emitiendo un
chasquido (Fig. 2)

MANTENIMIENTO DE
LAS CUCHILLAS
Lubrique las cuchillas antes, durante y después
del uso. Esto asegurará un rendimiento óptimo.
Sostenga el aparato boca abajo, lejos de su
cuerpo, y aplique aceite sobre los dientes y en
el costado de las cuchillas. Limpie el exceso
de aceite con un paño suave seco.

contiene partes que puedan ser reparadas por
el usuario. Para uso doméstico solamente. No
jale, retuerza ni enrolle el cable alrededor del
aparato.
ACEITE ESPECIAL
Para mantener las cuchillas de su cortadora
en condición óptima, lubríquelas cada tres o
cuatro cortes de cabello. Ponga unas cuantas
gotas del aceite lubricante provisto en los
dientes de las cuchillas. Encienda el aparato
durante un minuto, y luego apáguelo. El aceite
lubricante provisto ha sido específicamente
diseñado para las cortadoras de alta velocidad
de Conair, Por lo tanto, no reducirá la velocidad
de las cuchillas. Nunca utilice otro producto.
No hay ningún substituto al aceite de Conair.
UTILIZACIÓN DE LA CUCHILLA

1. Asegúrese de que el aparato esté apagado.

2. Para limpiar el aparato, apáguelo. Empuje

facilitará la limpieza. Limpie la cuchilla,
soplando sobre ella o usando un pequeño
cepillo de limpieza.
3. Regrese la cuchilla sobre el cabezal,
empujando hasta que haga clic y quede firme
en su lugar. Asegúrese de que el botón o la
palanca de ajuste de longitud de corte esté
en la posición más baja antes de cambiar
la cuchilla. La cuchilla de acabado es ideal
para cortar el pelo en la nuca y las sienes,
así como la perilla, la barba corta y el bigote.

MANTENIMIENTO DE LAS CUCHILLAS
LUBRICACIÓN
Lubrique las cuchillas aproximadamente una
vez al mes, usando el aceite provisto. Para no
ensuciar, haga esto encima de un periódico.
Sostenga el aparato al revés y enciéndalo.
Coloque una gota de aceite sobre las cuchillas,
apague el aparato y limpie el exceso de aceite
con un paño suave.
No use demasiado aceite y no lubrique el aparato
más de lo necesario. Esto podría dañar el motor.
Tampoco intente lubricar las piezas del motor, las
cuales están lubricadas de por vida. Mantenga el
aceite fuera del alcance de los niños.
LIMPIEZA DE LAS CUCHILLAS
Este aparato está equipado con cuchillas
extraíbles para facilitar la limpieza.
Simplemente presione la parte superior de la
cuchilla y ésta se desprenderá fácilmente del
cabezal. Limpie la cuchilla con el cepillo de
limpieza provisto y vuelva a instalarla. Alinee
la parte inferior de la cuchilla con la parte
posterior del cabezal. Empuje hasta que haga
clic y quede firme en su lugar.
Las cuchillas de su aparato fueron diseñadas
con precisión para un uso específico, y deben
recibir un cuidado muy especial. Limpie las
cuchillas después de cada uso con el cepillo
de limpieza provisto. Guarde el aparato en la
caja de almacenaje.

STORAGE
When not in use, your clipper should be
disconnected, allowed to cool and stored in
a safe, dry location, out of reach of children.
Any other servicing should be performed by
an authorized service representative. This
appliance has no user-serviceable parts. The
product is for household use.
CAUTION: Never pull on the clipper cord.
Never twist or wrap the cord around the clip-
per. Lay it flat with the cord coiled up when
not in use.
ADJUSTABLE TAPER LEVER
5 DETENT TAPER CONTROL
Just like levers on professional clippers, the
Conair taper lever is positioned at your thumb
so you can hold the clipper in your hand and
adjust the lever. This taper lever eliminates
the need in some situations for an attachment
comb because it lets you gradually adjust the
closeness of the cut. For the closest cut and
the shortest hair, push taper lever up as far
as it will go to the top position. To increase
cutting length, slowly push lever down. If you
push to the lowest position, it will leave hair
about the same length as the short attach-
ment comb.
Because a different cutting edge is used in
each setting, the taper lever lengthens the life
of your blades. Packed-in hair can slow down
any clipper. To remove it, without removing the
blades. Take your cleaning brush and brush
the hair from the blades. If you do this after
every clipping, especially with heavy hair cut-
ting, the blades should remain free of cut hair.

AJUSTE DE LONGITUD DE CORTE
CON 5 POSICIONES
Al igual que las cortadoras profesionales, su
cortadora está equipada con una palanca
de ajuste de longitud de corte que permite
ajustar el largo del corte a medida que corta
el cabello. La palanca de ajuste de longitud
de corte permite cortar el cabello más corto
o más largo, sin tener que instalar una guía.
Para obtener un corte más corto, deslice la
palanca hacia arriba. Para obtener un corte
más largo, deslice la palanca hacia abajo. El
ajuste más bajo dejará el cabello tan corto
como la guía más corta.
Usar el ajuste de longitud de corte prolonga
la vida útil de las cuchillas, puesto que éstas
nunca utilizan el mismo ángulo para cortar. Su
cortadora puede perder velocidad si recortes
de cabello están trabados en las cuchillas. Para
limpiar las cuchillas sin tener que sacarlas,
use el cepillo de limpieza provisto. Hacer
esto después de cada uso, especialmente
cuando se corta mucho cabello, mantendrá
las cuchillas en condición óptima.
